Tomina stood on the roof of Carva’s mansion, tapping her foot impatiently as she waited for him to come. She expected him to be timely, despite the incident that happened earlier that morning. She did intend on putting him through hell. Although she wanted to see what exactly he was capable of first. She was going to have to go through some own training herself. There were just some techniques that she needed to learn. At this point I feel like I can learn how to sense powers without judging everything based on what I sense. I’ve grown up choosing not to be able to sense others. Now that I have the right mindset, I can use that ability without falling into the traps that power sensing can put you in.
Tomina grew up all her life not being able to sense abilities. Partially it was because she didn’t need to. She was always around comrades who could sense others, and she used a scouter. After the fall of the Empire, Tomina didn’t learn how to sense other powers for another reason. Tomina didn’t want to judge people by what she sensed. Granted you could fall into that trap with a scouter as well, but Tomina only used it to get a general idea of strength and to track others. Besides, if she didn’t sense stronger powers, than there wouldn’t be any hesitation on her part in a fight. Tomina was well aware of the dangers of underestimating an opponent. It doesn't matter how strong you are: If you let your guard down, then you’ll lose everything. Natto found that out the hard way. God, that still pisses me off!
Natto was at one point the strongest Saiyan alive, and was responsible for overthrowing Queen Lettis. Shortly after that though, he got killed by a low level being that was leagues below his abilities. He didn’t even give Tomina the opportunity to take vengeance on him: he was dead by the time she regained consciousness after the Saiyan-Empire war.
That was going to be one of the things she was going to drill into Carva’s head during their training. If he did die an early death, then it wouldn’t be a pathetic death like that. She was going to make him into a true Saiyan warrior, no matter what.
Base PL: 101,377 Weighted PL: 25,344 Bonuses: Mansion (50%), Gravity (x20), Heavyweights (75%)Carva had to take a moment, sitting in the locker room downstairs. He knew that Tomina would be waiting for him on his roof, and quite honestly he knew that he was late. He smirked. He needed her to know that though he enjoyed her thoroughly, he wasn't whipped. Loyal to a fault, but to be fearful of anyone be it woman or man was unbecoming of a fine elite such as himself. His fists in his lap, he would slowly tape them, rolling the white athletic tape around his bruised, scarred knuckles.
The Dark Knight of Saiya
Slowly, the Saiya-jin warrior would stand up from the bench, slipping on his weighted gauntlets. Like a boxer getting ready to fight, he'd test the weight with a few quick jabs before chuckling to himself. "Sensei may very well be stronger than me. She could kill me, but I know that deep down, she will never respect a coward. She will understand that what I lack in power..." he clenched a fist before himself, sneering. "...I make up for in pure Saiya-jin warrior's spirit! She will see that I am not some pussy Earthling to be counted out! I am a true Saiya-jin warrior!"
His own mental confidence would echo in his mind as he turned, heading up the stairs with a stride. He'd conquered his master in the bedroom, at least in his mind. He'd now show her his worth as a student, his strength...his spirit was the strongest, Saiya-jin machismo oozing from every pore. He had to succeed, for the other choice would be death. This was the way of the warrior.
As he stepped outside that day, the sky was clear. The sun was shining brightly overhead, and he could feel a light breeze brush against his bare skin. Standing there for a moment, he'd enjoy the beautiful weather...today was the start of a new day, and he was a new man...a better man.
Slowly, he'd rise up from the ground and sensing her emergy, rise up to meet Tomina eye to eye. The look in his eyes was not one of fear, but respect. He stared into those eyes and stated calmly. "I am here, Sensei Tomina. Shall we begin?" He'd push those other thoughts to the back of his mind as he gave the sultry Saiyaness a once over, admiring her form. This was a time for focus though.

Fortunately Carva didn’t keep her waiting for too much longer. When he arrived, the first she noticed was the lack of fear. That was something she didn’t have to spend time beating out of him. At least not at this stage. She would have to make sure that he didn’t have any deep fears that could come out at the wrong time. She would teach him how to deal with those if he did.
Tomina didn’t miss him surveying her body. After what had happened last night, it was to be expected. She was more then happy to get those kind of looks from him. Hopefully he would abide by the rules she put forward. As long as he wasn’t too obvious about his interest in her in certain situations and didn’t let it get of the way of training, then she didn’t mind it at all. She rose up in the air, until she was hovering 30 feet above him. She peered down at him, raising her voice slightly so he could hear her properly.
“Before we get to the major lessons today, I want to see where you’re at in terms of strength. I want you to throw your strongest attack at me. Put as much power into it as you possibly can.”
He could feel the eyes of his sensei upon him, scrutinizing him. He knew not to question her now and had developed a respect for Tomina that would allow him to not get a nosebleed when he saw her. His smile wasn't present on this day, as the Saiya-jin warrior knew full well that in this business professionalism outweighted desires tenfold. At first, he'd set both feet down firmly upon the roof and he'd stand at attention, ready to listen to her commands.
Attack her, she said. With most people, Carva's initial reaction would be to ask "do you have a fucking deathwish?". But his reaction to her was a solemn nod, the seriousness of his training taking precedence over his own pride. She was no fragile flower, and her power dwarfed him. He knew this...she wanted to gauge the strength of her pupil, Carva wasn't stupid. "As you wish, Mistress Tomina. I will give it my all!"
And with that, he dug his feet into the ground, his power beginning to flourish outward from his bulky muscles. Carva's darkened gaze would focus on the beautiful woman some thirty feet above him, and his hand would move outward. At first...a small seed of energy would appear in his hand, crimson electricity dancing upon the length of his arm as the seed would grow. His energy blazed like an inferno, his roar splitting the air!
"Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!" Beams of black light would sweep forward from the crimson sphere, and he'd rear his arm back with a loud cry. "Aces High! Straight Flush!" He'd pitch the attack at Tomina like a fastball, but of this fastball were to hit, it would explode on impact!

Cress sat atop a rooftop not too far away from where he could see and sense Tomina. His eyes had shifted over to lock onto the girl even as he was lying back seemingly staring at the sky. There were still so many saiyans he didn't know since following Nasu to create the Saiyan Galactic Kingdom, and he had become disgusted by the sheer amount of hybrids that had joined his side... hell some of them were even half Brenchian which caused the saiyan to scoff whenever he encountered one.
"Still don't understand why he's taking in so many bastards... sure our numbers are low but we're not that desperate for warriors... Tsh... such a fucking waste of space." Cress grumbled to himself, averting his gaze away from Tomina and the newly arrived Carva. At least this one seemed saiyan... it actually was enough to lead Cress to believe he was a pure blood. It didn't matter in the end he supposed, they were both stronger than he was, and while they couldn't touch him he had to admit to himself he was... scared. He had encountered Tomina once and seen her during the takeover... seen what she had done to their saiyan prisoner... It reminded him a lot of Miso and he really, REALLY hated the General.
His tail twitched as a reaction to his sudden anger, causing Cress to snap out of his reverie as he sat up and soon pushed himself up to his feet, wrapping his tail tightly around his waist as he watched the male saiyan throw a blast towards the woman, Tomina. He raised an eyebrow at how pathetic that blast felt... but still he figured he should step in... his new duties did have him playing babysitter after all...
"Are you two idiots?" He called out to the pair as he flew the short distance over, coming in for a landing at a distance between the two. He did nothing to counter Carva's blast, because doing so would no doubt result in the destruction he was trying to avoid.
"I get that you're strong, but training in the Capital's city limits? We tore this place to shit as it is and need to repair it. If your blast goes rogue, or you power up a little too much, you'll be destroying our resources." He warned them, his eyes narrow as he glared between one and the other.

Tomina watched with interest as Carva charged up a crimson energy sphere. It certainly had a decent amount of power behind it. The name he shouted as he threw the attack at her did make her raise an eyebrow though. Why would he deliberately name an attack with a poker theme? It didn't make much sense, especially for someone who claimed he only gambled as a hobby. The attack appeared to hit Tomina, only to pass through her and continued on its way up. Her image had dissolved into a cloud of black smoke, which was then carried off by the wind. Tomina appeared on the roof of Carva’s mansion, holding her hand over her eyes to block both of Saiya’s suns as she watched the energy sphere fly up and dissipate in the lower atmosphere.
“Hmmmm…. that wasn’t bad. Although I feel like you should be able to throw out a stronger attack given your current level. It was rather simple for me to avoid it. No matter: you’ll hit much harder and faster in no time.”
Tomina turned to see a fellow Saiyan approach them. She recognized him from the ship. She honestly hadn’t interacted with him much, so she hadn’t really formed an impression of him yet. He seemed decently strong enough though. So far he was giving her the impression that he was a hard ass. Tomina sighed, raising her hand to her forehead.
“Do you view your comrades as too incompetent to properly control their ki? That’s something an inept 5 year old would do. Even if the blast had gone off course I could have easily have neutralized it. And assuming that everything that could have gone one did go wrong, that one blast would have done minimal damage next to what the capital endured recently. If it can survive King Nasu and everyone under his command, the Cerulean Empire, and the Demon Queen, then one little blast would barely leave a dent. Besides, it’s the slaves that would fix the damage anyway.”
Tomina’s eyes suddenly lit up. She thought that this guy appearing would be an annoyance to her, but he might actually prove to be useful. She jumped off the roof, landing on the ground. She called up to the two guys who were still up top.
“Carva, we’re going to have a slight change of plans to the routine! I want you and our new friend to face me in a 2 vs 1 spar under enhanced gravity! I want to see what level the both of you are at! I would say that it’s uncertain as to whether or not he’ll actually accept this, but he’s a true Saiyan warrior. We both know what his answer will be.”
Tomina smirked, using her clearance to deactivate the security on the mansion and walk inside. She had no doubt that both of them would follow her in there. What kind of Saiyan would turn down a challenge that brazen?

The bones in Carva's shoulder crackled and popped as he put force into the attack, the crimson blast leaving his hand, clocking in at about fifty miles per hours for those keeping score. His movements were quite deliberate when it came to his attacking stature, his right foot sliding out in front of him as he threw out the attack. She'd told him to fire off his strongest attack and Carva was one to oblige, as this was his sensei.
He wasn't disappointed, nor was he surprised that the warrior was able to dodge his attack. Since the war, he'd become more powerful, but he still wasn't in Tomina's league. This meant he would become ever more diligent in his training, more determined to surpass those who had surpassed him. Carva growled at his own inadequacy but soon calmly took a step back as he sensed a new power entering the scene.
He stared at Cress as the warrior would make a landing near him, his eyes never leaving the Saiya-jin. He regarded the warrior quietly his senses tingling as his arms folded across his chest and his tail swayed behind him. His brown eyes narrowed into slits as soon as the warrior spoke. "Hrmf." He turned sideways, looking off over the horizon. "You are calling us idiots, yet you are the one who insults elites? As Tomina said, you have absolutely no faith in the abilities of your comrades. Trust you me, fool..." he smirked, his gaze falling back on Cress. "...if I had to stop the attack, *I* could have. If I *had* to destroy the city, under orders, I *would*."
His eyes locked on the other male's, the tension in the air so thick that you could barely breathe. Tomina would fade out for a moment as his tunnel vision focused on Cress. The deep territorial Saiya-jin roots were showing as he almost DARED Cress to order him around again, the air around his body wavering like heat.
His Sensei's voice would catch his eas as he stood there, fully ready to kick the newcomer's ass. He pegged the man as a goody goody kiss ass straight off the bat, and Carva hated that. He himself was darkening inside.
Carva grinned as Tomina suggested the team spar, his head inclining slightly as he brought two fingers up to his left eyebrow. "That sounds ever so fun, Mistress..." his hands dropped to his sides as he would stride over to the edge of the roof, looking over his shoulder at Cress. "...you better hurry up. And don't get in my way!" He snapped before following her, his warning to Cress lingering in the air.

"You're right, this city has withstood a lot since our arrival, but orders are orders. Let's say for whatever reason, you weren't fast enough, or someone got in your way of stopping that blast, then that blast where to hit the Star Javelin. That's where our sovereigns stay if I have to remind you~ If that blast was to hit the ship and nudge it even just a little, if that was somehow enough to... worsen the General's condition? I'm not the one you would have to be worried about" Cress stated seriously. Of course he doubted their powers. They were dirty half bred mutts... Half breeds had a tendency to lose control of their powers or to use some insane powerup... anything right now could be harmful to the General, and while he hated Miso's guts he couldn't let him shatter... He was still a pure bred saiyan and deserved a better death then that.
Thats when his eyes locked onto Carva's. Cress didn't budge at all as the two stared each other down. It was easy to read the maliciousness in Carva's expression, but Cress only smirked and gave a light laugh towards him.
"Elites? Hahaha you're strong I'll give you that much! But an elite? hahahaha. You're simply a mutt with no position! A stray the king was quick to slap a leash on. You really are just the good wittle pupper aren't you? Following orders like that!" He mocked Carva, talking to him like he was a child. He sneered at him as he glanced back to Tomina when she suggested they both take her on. NOPE! nuh unh, bad idea! Alarms were starting to go off in the saiyans head as he refused to move, staring at her.
"Well you're right again, I am a true saiyan warrior, and a true warrior wouldn't go 2 on 1 against a girl. In fact, I've got one better, why don't you watch, and I'll take on Fido here?" Cress suggested, his gaze returning to Carva with the same cruel smirk on his features.
"Unless the wittle bastard pupper is too scawed?" He mocked him before laughing at the half breed. The power he could sense from Carva was nothing compared to his own. He would be able to take him down no problem.

“An attack like that could possibly harm General Miso? I’d like to think that we would guard one of our most powerful warriors while he’s in a compromising position with everything that we can.”
Tomina didn’t like it whenever someone she was arguing with actually had a point. So she didn’t go further into things then that. Besides, she was more interested in the taunting that Cress was throwing out towards Carva. Tomina watched with a neutral look on her face, even though she did hate this type of taunting. The tone and the words he was using was to establish superiority of a purebread over a halfbreed. Oh, he was choosing his words carefully and doing a good job of hiding it. Although the term “mutt” was a term that was thrown towards someone who wasn’t pureborn. It wasn’t something that bothered her nearly as much as it used to though: she knew how to deal with it now. The question was, could Carva handle it?
If he can’t figure out the way to make these kind of people stop insulting him and can’t take the heat, then he’s no use to me. So far he has proven to be rather competent though. Lets see if he continues to do that.
Tomina gave Cress a very wide smirk when he declined fighting her in a two on one. She had hoped that she would have been able to beat the crap out of this Saiyan, although it didn’t look like she was going to get that opportunity. That was fine with her though: the fact that he was wary of fighting her even in a 2 vs 1 was an acknowledgement of her dominance. He knew she was stronger then him, and that’s all that mattered.
“Oh dear, you caught me. I was going to unveil something special against the two of you. It looks like you caught onto my little scheme though. You’re either not as dumb as you look, or you have very good instincts. Either way, you made a very wide decision. I’m sure Carva will be happy to face you in a one on one fight.”
And with that, Tomina walked into the mansion and towards the training room where the battle would take place. It was a chamber where the flow of gravity could be controlled, and was designed to withstand a lot of punishment. It would be the perfect place for the two Saiyans to duke it out.
Carva's eyes narrowed into black slits, his pupils almost seemingly dissappearing. The purebred certainly was being an ass, which was quite normal for purebloods in the experience of Carva. Deep down, he could remember all those times when he'd been made fun of for the miniscule amount of human blood mixed with his Saiya-jin blood. For a moment, his muscles tensed...his aura wavered the air around him...the anger within him was itching to get out. Tomina may or may not have caught the look he shot toward her as she scrutinized him mentally. After a few tense moments, Carva's muscles would relax. His left eyebrow would arch, his lips curling into a smirk. "Trust me, Cress. If I wanted to stop my OWN blast I certainly could. Miso and the Star Javelin are perfectly safe. Your face on the other hand..." that smirk broadened into a confident grin. "...it's not going to be in such good shape if you proceed to try and tempt my ire. What you need to remember is that, though I am not a purebred, I am damned proud of my heritage."
His grin faded as another thought would come to mind. If Cress was so concerned about the strength of the Kingdom then why would he proceed to insult two of it's strongest members? Carva would bring this up to the foolish Saiya-jin, a look of disdain on his handsome, young features. "If you were any sort of TRUE Saiya-jin warrior, you'd be smart enough to recognize true talent when you see it. But apparent, your IQ is lower than your age, which I can understand. You don't look like the brightest crayon in the box." Carva scoffed, quite arrogantly. "Better a "mutt" than a dumb ass, I suppose."
He turned his back on the pureblood, not saying another word until he was about to dissappear through the door. "Come, let's go. I'll show you why I am CLEARLY superior to you and then you can run back to his majesty and tell him that there is someone better suited for your "rank" than you are. Jackass."
As Carva would step into the gravity chamber, the danger room, he'd open his left palm and press the knuckles of his right hand against it, bowing his head to Tomina reverently. "Sensei, I will fight for our honor, I will make you proud. You can go ahead and tell Aphra to break out the finest wine, because it'll still be cold by the time I get done with him." He flashed her a grin and winked.

Cress smirked over at Tomina as she said she had been caught red handed. She definitely had been, Cress was a bully but he wasn't an idiot. He wasn't about to pick a fight with someone who felt THIS much stronger than him! No he'd learned that lesson the hard way with Miso. He gave her a rather coy wink, laughing as he turned back to look at Carva, even though he first addressed Tomina.
"you don't get to become the Queen's guard by being foolish. I might not like your heritage but I can feel that strength you're holding onto. If I went up against you I would die... considering I doubt the pup would be much help besides maybe acting like a meatshield." He said as he continued to eye Carva with a cruel smirk on his face. Oh how he enjoyed picking on him! He might have just found his new favorite toy. Well, pending how their little 1v1 went! As Carva insulted Cress' intelligence though, he just scoffed, the smirk never leaving his features as he raised a hand as if waving the insults away.
"That's the best you got? Maybe if I saw some real power from you I'd be less inclined to give you a hard time. but that blast? That was pathetic and BARELY worth being considered mid class in the old Empire. You'll have to do a lot better then that for me to recognize you as a powerful warrior... although you are earning brownie points for choosing the path of a saiyan warrior and not... whatever else is dirtying your blood." He stated before falling silent and following Carva inside. This would be an interesting fight... He could feel that Carva's strength was far below his own, so this should be an easy match. Even if he was suppressing it, it couldn't be more than double this feeling.

Well, it looked as though both guys were having a cock fight now. Men felt the need to display their superiority in any way they could. Unfortunately when it came to wordplay, most guys were about as subtle as slamming someone into a brick wall. And then taking that brick wall and beating that person into the ground. Well, it was harmless enough at the moment. Tomina ignored the wink that Cress sent her direction. She already wasn’t too fond of him, especially when he dropped all the pretense and outright commented on Carva’s heritage. Tomina did smirk at Carva’s largest comment though, leaning against the wall and making herself comfortable.
“I don’t know… I don’t think the best wine you have is worth bringing out for a victory like this. I’d save it for something important, like when we successfully use the tree of life on a planet, or you defeat someone noteworthy. I mean, it just seems like a waste for a friendly spar like this.”
Tomina’s eyes flickered between the two of them, waiting for them to begin the fight. She was fairly confident Carva was going to be able to defeat this guy. Otherwise she would have to start questioning her judgement when it came to recruiting others.
He looked up to his sense one more time and rubbed his chin. She was right after all, considering this Saiya-jin was nothing more than the Queen's lap dog. Out of respect for Kinoko, he wouldn't say this out loud but he certainly did think it. He smirked and stepped forward, cracking his knuckles. "You're right. After all, such a small fry as this warrants more of...what are those things on Earth called? "Malt liquors"? Colt 45, I believe it is? Either way..." his head slowly turned to Cress, his eyebrows arching downward and mouth curling upward. "...I am going to make you wish you'd never been born, purebred."
A few steps forward, his weighted cape flowing behind him as he rolled his neck. His power would manifest itself visually, at first a pulsating white aura flowing forth from his body. "All my life..." his irises disappeared for a split second, electricity arcing from his bulging muscles. The power he held was obviously clawing and screaming to be brought forth. "...it was your kind who discounted my true strength, labelled me an insignificant mutt. Hah." His head would tilt downward, aura becoming golden as his hair stood straight up. "It's time you learned not to speak ill of your betters! Have at you!"

"Such cold words, you break my heart~" Cress teased Tomina as she basically said that he wasn't worth the time of day. It hardly bothered him, all these hybrids thinking they could be real saiyans... Well he'd find out for himself if they were even worth considering as Saiyans at all. It wasn't just about looking like one, or fighting like one... A true Saiyan warrior had pride! Even in the face of defeat, a warrior would face it head on.
It made him think back to the time he had picked on Kohlrabi in much this same manner and couldn't help but look over his shoulder, almost expecting Miso to be standing there with his disapproving scowl. Instinctively Cress' tail tightened itself around his waist and he looked back towards Carva who was going on about how 'his kind' had discredited him for being impure. Well that was interesting... there were very few Alliance Saiyans who would have done that when they preached acceptance... Was this guy from the previous Empire then? Before it had fallen? Cress definitely grew curious as to this man's origins but stayed quiet for the moment, lowering himself into a fighting stance that would heavily reflect the Vegetan Fighting Academy's style.
His eyes focused on Carva as he darted forward, aiming to kick Cress in the gut right off the bat. Cress let out a heavy breath as his guard opened up just a little bit, allowing Carva's knee to collide with his abdomen. A grunt escaped his lips at the contact but Cress was quick to thrust his hand towards Carva's face, a smirk crossing his features...
"Brilliant Flash!" He exclaimed as the room was suddenly so bright it would be blinding to both Carva and Tomina, a golden beam of energy shooting forward out of his hand to attack Carva at a short distance.

Tomina’s smirk grew wider as Cress threw a comeback at her. Although mostly it was just a phrase he was using to keep himself from looking weak. He didn’t really throw any insults at her.
“I doubt that I broke your heart. If I did, then you would be the weakest Saiyan in existence. Besides, breaking one’s heart takes a lot of effort and has little payoff. I prefer to break the minds and spirits of others. And it goes without saying that every Saiyan on this planet enjoys breaking the bodies of our enemies.”
Tomina was a little surprised when Cress got into a stance similar to the Vegetan fighting academy. Although it wasn’t exactly the same. Tomina thought about asking him about it, but chose to observe for the time being. She would see whether or not he actually knew the style, or if he was just emulating certain aspects of it.
The fight started out normally enough. Carva tested the waters by coming in with a solid knee to Cress’s gut. It did connect with him, although there wasn’t a lot of power behind the attack. When Cress called out the name of his attack, Tomina immediately raised her arm in front of her eyes. Her instinct approved to be right, as a blinding flash filled the gravity chamber. I don’t understand people who reveal what their attack does in the name of it. Seriously, you give your opponents too much of a heads up if you outright tell them what your attack is going to do right before you throw it out. Besides, that name is so dull anyway.
Tomina continued holding up her sleeve, wondering how Carva would react to this. She had yet to go over special attacks with the Saiyan-Human hybrid, so she wondered how he was going to deal with this move.
