Rutaba was back home, and tending to his wounds from a previous mission. Cuts and bruises littering his body as he got out of his pod, the pod itself withered and busted, it probably would only make one more trip before breaking down, if that. "I really need to get that fixed... or replaced." he would chuckle softly to himself as he stared at the poor pod, stretching a bit before looking out over the rest of the landing area. His kindhearted look slowly dropped as he stood in the lonely zone, once a place filled with up to five pods, five friends talking to each other after a mission, reduced to the sole saiyan warrior.
He felt a lot stronger than he was when he was a failure. Even his base form outclassed his transformation when he tapped into it, and by an extent, he was probably stronger than Azukai at that point, who had gotten his power by abusing his Zenkai on a mission. Rutaba was better than that though, he got his power so far through sheer determination and hard work, and he wasn't going to let a Traitor get the better of him ever again, even on base terms.
The SDF Member would just shake his head slowly, that was the past and he had to accept that it wasn't going to change, no matter how much he dwelt on it. Anger would only lead him down a dark road much like his traitorous friend went down, and he couldn't let him be consumed by his hatred like that. The Saiyan would let out a deep sigh as he slowly made his way to his quarters, where he would put away all his gear, putting on more casual clothing to relax in.
After a short time of relaxation, he would make his way out to the landing zone once more, the open space being all too familiar to him over a short while as he used it for training on his own, with nobody else really around to train him or train with. His clothes made him really light weight as well, giving him full reign to make rapid kicks and punches in the air, just trying to control his movements while hitting as fast as he can, trying to get a food mix of speed and power so that neither would fall flat. This would last for a good little while as well, until he would then kick himself into his Saiyan Soul form, a gold aura emanating around him as his power spiked four fold, his black hair swaying with the energy rushing around him as he started to attack the air even more aggressively, trying to work up a sweat as he went all out.
He felt alone in the world, just waiting for the next mission to go on with no real rhyme or reason aside from the pure desire to protect everyone else. And he had to protect them all from Azukai as well, if he had killed three of his closest friends, nobody was safe in the end. But maybe something else would give him a reason to keep going.
[Rutaba Base PL: 5,152] [Rutaba Saiyan Soul: 20,608] Onato
Onato ended his conversation with Maikeru by mentioning the saiyans of his own universe. It was interesting how different they actually were and to think that the Universe 6’s saiyans were protectors of justice was something that made him feel quite at ease now that Earth was long gone. Earth used to be the jewel to Onato’s eyes and he was the Kaioshin designated to that quadrant of the galaxy and losing it was the thing that almost made him fall. But now, as the Grand Kaioshin, he knew he had to watch over the entirely universe and search for people who could be brought up to the role of defenders of the cosmos; he wasn’t sure for how long peace would last and, even though his universe was more developed than his twin universe, they were still dangerously low when compared to all others and that needed to change, otherwise they could be at a serious risk of being erased.
The Kaioshin’s eyes were focused on his crystal ball as he watched a young saiyan warrior training. He summoned his inner power and increased his power manifold and that was interesting. Onato touched his chin and massaged it a bit as he kept oh following the saiyan’s training. ”Those saiyans are quite something… To think they would develop this power after we erased their tails. It was a good decision in the end but… Will they be as strong as their counterpart? I wonder… Well… Even if they aren’t, they will still be far above average and with their hearts in the right place, it should be enough…” he thought to himself, chuckling a bit.
Nodding to himself, Onato turned off his crystal ball and decided to pay a visit to this particular saiyan. Closing his eyes slowly, he focused his mind on Planet Sadal. ”Kai kai!” and instantly, he teleported himself to near the place where Rutaba was training. If the saiyan could sense ki, he would immediately feel an overwhelming power appearing nearby, but for the time being, Onato would remain hidden behind a tree, testing if the saiyan was aware of his environment, or if he had refined his ki ability enough to actually notice someone was nearby.
While most of his focus was kept on training, Rutaba always had his globalized ki sense flowing throughout the planet. He always tried to keep check of anybody who left, or entered, the planets atmosphere. Some were unfamiliar but none of them were every very impressive to him at this point, the most impressive person he could sense ever was his late mentor. Because of how nonthreatening the powers were, it was pretty easy for it to be nothing but a motor skill, like breathing or blinking.
Nothing could prepare him for what he felt out of nowhere during his training however, as a large power spiked extremely close to him. 'What the hell... is this overwhelming... ki. It's three fold... what I am putting out... even in this state' his body would feel almost frozen for a bit as his mind was unable to focus on anything other than this immense signature. What was further terrifying him, was how it didn't even enter the atmosphere naturally. No ship flew in nearby, and not a single power was moving towards him this entire time. He knew of the ability to suppress ones ki, but to completely mask it to the point that it was invisible, and then shoot all the way up like this, it was monstrous.
At the same time, however, the force seemed to be taking cover for some reason. It could easily destroy him if it chose to do so, so why would it be hiding? After a small bit of time, his mind would refocus letting him move again as he wasn't entirely caught off guard anymore. He wasn't dead, and that was what counted against such a powerful force. Perhaps he was just overthinking it, and diplomacy would work out in the end, and not a single blade or fist would have to be swung towards anybody.
With a deep, calming breath, the Saiyan would break his transformation in an attempt to no longer appear on the offensive, as he casually made his way over to the tree where this immense power was coming form. As he got closer, he got a lot more tense but would slowly try to regain his composure as he began to talk. "Whoever is there, I am not familiar with you. Your power is quite impressive, you don't need to hide yourself because your strength gives you away. I do not wish to cause any trouble, I am just here to make sure you won't either. As a member of the Sadal Defense Force, I can't let any heinous acts occur, especially on my home world. Even if my life is on the line." he tried to speak firmly, asserting some sort of authority as basically a police officer of the universe, inspecting suspicious activity.
From there, he just had to stay quiet, waiting to see if this person would even show themselves.
It was quite convenient and interesting that the saiyan boy could sense ki energy, even one as godly as Onato’s own. Of course he didn’t have the perk of having his ki energy naturally hidden from mortals, like the God of Destruction; the Kaioshin had both godly ki and normal ki, thus they could be normally sensed unless they went out of their way to hide it, which Onato always found way too annoying to even consider doing so. When the boy approached, demanding he would not hide in a sort of authoritarian tone that amused Onato quite a bit and he decided he would be playing along for now.
Walking away from the tree, with his a respectful posture, with both hands behind his back, fists clenched but not tightly clenched, standing near one another, almost as if he was royalty of some sort. Onato would be an odd figure to Rutaba’s eyes and of that he was sure: physically, despite his huge power level, he didn’t look like much. Unlike Rutaba’s tall and fit build, the Kaioshin was short, with only 5’4”, and quite slim in build. He had pinkish skin and long, sharp ears with yellow earrings on it. His eyes were almond shaped and dark, being now narrowed and quite mysterious. He sported a subtle smirk in his lips, almost as if he was having fun, even though there was no trace of fun in his eyes. His hair was a Mohawk of pure white spiky hair.
His clothes were too quite odd, unlike anything the saiyan would have ever seen. ”Rest assured, boy. You will not die today. I mean no harm to you, but you should definitely consider showing a little more respect to the likes of me.” he said, chuckling a bit. He didn’t say any other word as he was hoping to judge his character by his actions.
Once the mysterious figure stepped out from behind the tree, it was, quite a different sight than he expected. To hide behind a tree he suspected he wasn't going to come face to face with any muscular over sized races, but at the same time to feel such a power, he was expecting somebody more toned and muscular in terms of just natural body dimensions. This person facing him however, must have been the token of somebody with immense potential. Not only did he possess immense power, but the way he presented himself, his clothes, his accessories on his ears, all of it just showed somebody who was wealthy or important and never needed to worry about strength. But on that front, this man outdid him in every way.
On second glance however, what exactly WAS this person, anyways? It certainly wasn't any race from the star systems he has visited on any missions so far. Perhaps something from a far off galaxy with no connections to the Saiyans and the Defense Force stationed on their planet. But in that same vein, what is this person doing here in that case? All of those different questions rushed through his mind and more as his eyes quickly darted around and analyzed the mans figure. Furthermore, whoever it was began to speak to him, and that made him blink a few times, feeling sort of bad after what he said as it seemed that one of the observations was right to some extent.
"R-Right, I am sorry if I was being disrespectful and offended you. Just, your energy was unfamiliar, I hope you understand that a massive, power arriving on ones planet could cause quite an alarm." Rutaba would scratch behind his head as he lowered his more authority driven tone and more just sounded sorry for the way he acted before. "If I knew beforehand, I promise I would have been a lot more respectful right away, please accept my apology." he would offer a sort of polite bow.
He didn't know who this person was, or what they were doing here, but if his disrespectful nature would cost the Defense Force some sort of alliance that this man was possibly here for, then the Saiyan would feel utterly terrible. As such, even if it hurt a little bit on the inside, he knew he had to fall in line and he hoped his apology was enough for now. His eyes would slowly rise from his bow position to look at the person once more.
"I am glad you don't mean any harm anyhow. If I have permission to ask, what are you here on Sadal for today? Not much happens around here that is all that important so a case of someone like you is quite a big deal, least in my eyes. Er, and if I may also ask, what were you doing behind that tree, sir?" he would point to the tree that the man came out from behind just to specify right then and there but he would drop his arms back to his side as he stood tall to try and give a sort of proper stance for a soldier towards someone of higher status.
It was funny how this Young saiyan had absolutely no idea who he was talking to; maybe if Rutaba knew that the Supreme God of Creation of his universe was standing in front of him he would have behaved differently, but it didn’t matter for now at least. He seemed apologetically enough due to his initial bad manners and Onato thought that it was a good thing that he recognized it and thus he chuckled, making a brief yet acknowledging nod to the boy; indeed there was absolutely no way they could’ve known about Onato’s approach beforehand, since he had access to the impressive Kai Kai ability, which allowed him to teleport instantly to anywhere in the multiverse.
When he asked as for his goals in Sadal, Onato widened his grin a bit, but kept the mystery in his eyes. ”If I said it was none of your business, I wonder how you would react, since you are part of the Defense Force. Would you try and get an answer out of me with force only? It would be very unlikely to be accomplishable, but that would be your duty. On top of that, young Rutaba, what would you do if I said I meant harm to your homeland, all things considered? Well… I think you would fight to the end, even though it would be definitely a losing battle.” he said, closing his eyes for a second and taking a deep breath, giving enough time for the saiyan to muse as to how did the Kaioshin know his name, but before it took too long, he would get back to his speech.
”I had been watching you from afar, and thus I decided to take a closer look at your training. That’s the reason I came all the way here. Luckily I’m not bound to the primeval means of transportation you mortals use.” he chuckled yet again, revealing the reason he came to Sadal, but not exactly who he was.
Rutaba would just stare at the mysterious figure with a smile and firmly locked eyes. Behind his smile he was gritting his teeth. It was like, in some ways, this man was trying to set him off or something like that. What could he have to gain by such a thing? "Well, if it is none of my business, then it surely must be more important than I am. I can not force my will to force an answer out of somebody who is giving me no hostile intent. It may be my duty but maybe not my ranking to decide such a thing without orders." he would just drop his head a bit trying to think of how to respond to what was said next.
His eyes would widen though reading back over what was said, he didn't ever respond with his name, did he? Just who the hell was this person, some sort of hitman, did all his time in the Force get him something marked on his head? He hoped that wasn't the case but he just couldn't be sure now. "If you meant harm to my people, or anybody else in the galaxy for that matter. I would do my best to take you down, whether I win or lose that is no factor. Weakening you so my brothers and sisters can take you down would make me prouder than anything. But I don't think that is why you are here, if you know me by name." Rutaba's eyes would narrow, waiting and watching the figure who was being so cocky and giving off such subtle little meanings. It was all a weird trick in his mind but he had to remain firm, who was he if he fell into line just because a high power demanded it of him. If it was to make an enemy out of him, so be it.
But the next words the figure spoke, made Rutaba look a bit confused. "Watching me from afar? I don't quite think I understand, what could you gain from watching me, I'm nothing special. Especially with your power, it is like a master watching a student, no? Nothing to really fulfill in aside from watching another progress." he would pause for a few more seconds, staring down as he thought over it all. "So, you got here without a ship at all. Guess that is why I didn't see any landing for your power to appear like that. What a scary way to get around, if you meant harm to the universe anyways."
Rutaba would look back up to the man, cocking his head to the side as he stared directly towards him. "You said... mortals. I can't exactly say that is a normal thing to go around calling people for anyone. Are you that important? To look down at the rest who use spacecraft and call them mere mortals? Or maybe I just don't know my place, I apologize if I am stepping out of line. It just has me curious, I can't quite say I have met anyone like you before, aside from maybe the Brenchians but their colors are... quite a bit more vibrant."
Onato was truly satisfied with Rutaba’s reaction, the boy was indeed what he was looking for: brave enough to face a Strong opponent, even if it meant that he would die because of that action. He believed it would be worthy if he could help his brothers and sisters to stand a chance against a tired foe, but he was also clever enough to know that Onato meant no harm to him and that realization made the Kaioshin chuckle in satisfaction. ”Good. I was right after all.” he thought to himself.
Still, it bugged the saiyan boy that he was being watched from afar and, in all honesty, Onato was reticent to do so at first, because the last time he decided to help a mortal acquire the knowledge of the gods in order to become a better warrior, he was scolded. But now there was no one to scold him for that; he was the Grand Supreme Kai after all, the ultimate God of Creation of Universe Six, so he could do as he pleased and as he learned from his previous mistakes, and from the mistakes of his deceased peers.
”I will reveal myself to you.” he said, chuckling a bit, keeping the mystery for a while longer after Rutaba asked who he was. ”My name is Onato, but this is not a name for mortals to use, but to my peers, even though there are none left in this Universe.” he said, pausing briefly as he mused about his own godly loneliness. ”I’m the Grand Supreme Kai of this Universe, meaning… I’m the God of All Creation. You, saiyans, the brenchians who you compared me to, the tuffles… They were all created by us, the Kaioshins, ages ago.” he said, pausing yet again. ”As a God, my duty is to oversee creation and make sure you people develop your minds and spirits, in order to improve our Universe. And that’s why I’m here, young Rutaba. Because I see potential in you.” he said, widening his smirk and narrowing his eyes.
Rutaba was about to respond with the persons name before hearing the rest, a sort of crimson look going over his face. He still mouthed the name without actually saying it just so he would remember it, in case he would have to bring him up to anybody. "None left... in the universe? I am sorry for your loss, sir. May you one day have peers once more." he was still curious as to what the whole mortals thing was about but he was going to get his answer soon enough it seemed, as the Grand Kaioshin finally made himself known.
He had no idea such a being existed, but at the same time he had no real desire to refute or try to deny such a being existing when such power and authority stood right in front of him. Furthermore, he had no place to say it was untrue, if it was false then this powerful person just carried themselves as such and that was all fine. Besides, with all of the amazing and unexplained things in the universe, who was he to deny such a thing before him. "Grand... Supreme Kai? God of All Creation? All these species... created by you? I'm sorry if it takes me a bit to just uh, analyze that, alright? That is quite the thing to drop on somebody. Though I asked for it, can't say it was expected in any way at all." he would bite his lip thinking over it all as the Kaioshin continued on.
"...You said the Kaioshins, and before, with your true name, that none are left. So there used to be other gods too? I am sorry to hear that you must take on such a title and duty alone, it must seem so bleak. I too used to have a team, a team of five. I am the only one left, and everything has been a lot more difficult since then.. to think of taking on such a position yourself, I can't even imagine" he would drop his head in respect, trying to give a moment of grieving in a way due to talking about possible close friends of this god no longer being in the universe. To him, that could only mean the single prominent thing of death, which his close friends had suffered as well, to another friend no less. One of the cruelest fates must be to lose your life to the one you trusted most.
"But, I will do anything I can to improve the Universe I live in, if it is truly something I can do. To know I have potential gives me great joy, especially coming from such a great being such as you. Sorry if I am not conveying it well it's just hard to take this all in." He would pause for a short bit trying to think of how he was to phrase the next set of words, but was having a bit of trouble. "Plus another thing comes up onto my mind. If you Kaioshins created pretty much everything... and are meant to oversee our development. Then why are atrocities even a concept in the universe? Was it some sort of way to see how mortals would handle it? I just, don't understand. Though I am not saying it is anybodies fault, I am quite happy doing what I do, to help everybody. Just, why would such gods create beings that work towards faulting the universe, and let them go unchecked?" he was hoping he wasn't being too disrespectful but he was extremely curious at this point. Will take Zeni for this thread
Last Edit: Jul 11, 2018 4:54:18 GMT -5 by Rutaba: Edited in what I wanted for the thread after being tagged in the TTG
Rutaba seemed to be speechless by Onato’s revelation and the Kai just mused for a moment. ”Just how odd is it for the mortals to face their gods? I wonder if it’s the same reaction us Shinjin have when facing the King of All. No, of course not. They are blessed with ignorance, while we are cursed with knowledge.” he thought to himself, sighing a bit. ”I was expecting this kind of reaction, child.” his tone was understanding, even though his eyes showed no traces of empathy whatsoever; they were just distant and cold, like they had been this whole time.
When he talked about his past, Onato shook his head and closed his eyes. ”I know your story, Rutaba. That’s one of the reasons I think you are worth my trust and attention. You know the pain of loss and, yet, you didn’t allow yourself to succumb to your inner darkness.” he interrupted the saiyan boy for a bit before allowing him to continue his speech, while not responding anything regarding his own loneliness after having lost his fellow Kaioshin. That wound was still open and it hurt, but he learned how to deal with it while burdening the weight of becoming the Grand Supreme Kai of Universe 6.
The saiyan seemed happy to be recognized and reassured his compromise to making things better in this universe and that was everything the God of Creation wanted to hear. He apologized again and, even though it wasn’t really necessary, it was good he knew how to behave before a deity and it made Onato like him a tad bit more. But shortly after that he made a question, a question Onato hadn’t allowed him to make, but he asked it nonetheless. However, even though it would usually bring reprimand towards himself, he did ask the right question and the Kaioshin slowly opened his dark eyes, remaining silent for a second.
After that he cracked a subtle grin on his thin lips before beginning to speak. ”That’s a pertinent question, child.” he said, pausing for a short moment. ”Us, Kaioshin, are meant to watch from afar and let you mortals develop by yourself. There’s this pact, the free will pact, among us, Gods. We create you, we bless you with the ability to evolve and guide you, like a guardian deity. If you stray too much from the line, another deity will erase you from existence, but this analysis is not quick. No… We give you people thousands of years to improve, and in between this the atrocities, the pain and mayhem are made. If things go way out of line, then we intervene. The last time we did so, though, had huge consequences.” and he paused yet again as his smile faded away.
”Have you noticed that in this universe the demons are rare?” his question was part of his answer.
