“It’s fine to have a basic goal like that for now. You haven’t experienced enough yet to clearly define yourself. It’s important to always follow the orders of your superiors, especially when they come from the king.Their word is the law. However if you don’t have an identity of your own, you’ll become nothing more than a sword used by others. Your personal ambitions dictate who you are and form your legacy.”
Tomina blinked at the Saiyan when he asked what drove her. She wasn’t surprised by the question, since it was something that was relevant to the current conversation she was having. She closed her eyes, letting out a light chuckle.
“Kid, it would be easier for me to list what doesn’t drive me then to tell you what my motivations are. The fact is that I have more then one thing that’s driving me forward. They’re all interconnected in one way or another. Let’s see….what’s the best way to put it?”
Tomina stroked her chin, her finger lightly tapping against her skin. She pondered on how she was going to word things to Rensu. She wanted to be truthful about things without giving anything anyway. There were some things that she wanted to keep to herself for now. Tomina’s eyes opened after a few minutes, her blue orbs focusing on the younger Saiyan.
“You know how some cultures believe in ghosts and specters and the like? Spirits who can’t move on to the afterlife because they have unfinished business. I’m a living spirit. There’s a wrong that I have to make right no matter what. For the sake of the Saiyan race, the people I knew and cared about, and for my own sake, I must complete this task. Failure isn’t an option. Everything else is secondary to me. As long as I succeed, nothing else matters.”
Tomina looked up into the sky, her eyes reflecting the colors of the sky cast forth by the two suns. Like Rensu was earlier, Tomina was no longer in the present. Unlike Rensu, it was clear she was visiting the past. Tomina could clearly see all the past, but couldn’t see into the distant future. Everything that pushed her forward was behind her.
Rensu watched Tomina carefully. He wanted to listen and hear her out effectively. He nodded acknolwedgingly as she stated that his goals were basic but acceptable. He was just a teenager, so she was right. He hadn't experienced enough in his life to have any intricate desires or wants that'd constitute his ambitions and drive. As he watched Tomina, he noticed something about her. Something that separated her from her fellow Saiyans. It was more than just her recent transformation- Rather, it was something slightly more subtle than that. Now, Rensu wasn't aware that Tomina was a split Saiyan. He didn't know she was half Saiyan, half Elemi. So her feature was certainly off. His eyes narrowed but opened as she began talking.
"Right. Spirits that can't move on because of one reason or another. That's a solid reason to fight."
Ren turned to face the stars, as well. He could only wonder what she saw in them. The way he saw the future, did she see the opposite and see the past? Who knew. A silence had fallen forth but it was welcomed. He didn't want to disturb Tomina quite yet. But, after a moment or so he wanted to speak. And that he did. He turned his head only, looking at Tomina. For someone so strong, she looked like a mix of gentle and tough. A few of Saiyan women had that quality. Many just looked tough and like you shouldn't mess with them for anything.
"Tomina. You're a Saiyan, right? What's with your eyes? Their blue. That's super uncommon around here and especially uncommon for pure Saiyans. You're mixed aren't you?" Ren paused but smiled. "Not that it's a bad thing. I think their really pretty, it's just bugging my curiosity."

Rensu seemed to accept the answers Tomina was giving him. She noted that he wasn’t asking too many follow up questions to what he wanted to know. Although he was certainly not afraid to ask questions. He jumped straight for the throat of what most people would consider a very touchy subject matter. When Rensu asked about her heritage, Tomina was quick to respond.
“Yes, I am half-Elemi. It’s caused me quite a few problems growing up. I’ve accepted it, and embrace it now. I am a Saiyan first and foremost, despite my mixed blood. Blue eyes are unusual for a Saiyan, although that does come from my Saiyan side. My brother had eyes the same color of as mine, and he fully inherited the powers of a Saiyan.”
Tomina climbed to her feet, stretching her arms above her head. She tilted her hair downward to look at the young Saiyan. It was time to really get to know him.
“Why don’t you come with me to my place? It’s a much more comfortable place to sit and have discussions.”
Tomina then hopped from building to building, not bothering to look and see if Rensu was following her. She was going slower than if she were flying, so he could easily catch up if he wanted to. She was sure that he would come though. There was no reason not to accept her invitation. Plus, she could always make it an order if she had to. She did have seniority and rank over him after all.
"So I was right about assuming there was more to you than just the Saiyan blood in your veins. Just not for the reason," Rensu thought, laughing a bit. It was funny how things worked out. He learned something without even intentionally pressing that hard. So, he learned Tomina had a brother and her eyes were naturally obtained from her Saiyan genetics. Not from her Elemi genetics. But if she was one of those Elemi folks, did that mean she had some kind of elemental manipulation? Well, obviously. Rensu should've realized that her ability was fire based on her transformation and attack. The youth nodded, tilting his head after a moment.
He shrugged, figuring: "Uh. Sure, why not?"
He watched as Tomina hopped from building to building. She must've either lived close by or was giving him a chance to keep up. Well, so be it. Rensu took to the air and dashed as quickly as he could to keep by her side. Rather than tail her, he figured it'd be more optimal to be by her left or right. This way he could follow her more efficiently. He did clasp his stomach though. He kind of hoped she'd feed him something..Tomina

<This kid is way too upbeat the way he is right now. I’m going to mold him myself. Carva isn’t capable of shaping Rensu into a true Saiyan.>
The kid’s laughter at the smallest thing made up her mind on the matter. There was nothing wrong with laughing and having fun with your comrades from time to time. However, things were stacking up in a way that they would eventually collapse if left unchecked.
<Damn you Natto! You gave form to the illusion of being able to live a peaceful life. I won’t let you take any more Saiyan comrades from me!>
Tomina hated the possibility of having to fight and kill people that were once allies. Despite how angry she was with people like Negi, it didn’t change the fact that he once worked with Nasu. Tomina wouldn’t let Rensu go down that same path, no matter what she had to do.
Tomina reached the end of one of the rooftops, bending her legs and springing off the edge. She jumped a full 30 feet in the air before landing on her feet in front of her mansion. The landing didn’t even phase her. She had to bend her knees and squat as she landed, but she quickly sprung to her feet and opened the front doors of her mansion. Tomina walked in, leaving it open for Rensu.
The interior was lavish and fancy. A red carpet led to a double staircase at the end of the huge hall. A chandelier provided illumination for the large room. There were paintings along the wall that seemed to be handmade. They were all incredibly detailed. One depicted a view of planet Vegeta from space, with an armada of Saiyan ships approaching. The ships were all colored red instead of the traditional grey though.
Another depicted a figure that was cast slightly in the shadows engaged in an energy struggle with a black figure. The figure in black had thrown a huge blue energy sphere. It was clear they were a Saiyan though, going from the tail that extended from his back. The other figure’s face was in shadow, but the hair and clothing indicated that it was Tomina. She was firing what appeared to be the Galick Cannon at her opponent. Although the purple beam had jagged bits of energy extending from all sides of the beam. It resembled a purple stream of fire with all the energy that was there. Tomina turned around, motioning for Rensu to sit on one of the couches or chairs that were there.
“Welcome to my humble abode. I recently got everything finished. A place isn’t a home until you personalize it to give it an identity. Would you like something to eat or drink? I can get the cooks to sip something up in a jiffy. Actually I don't know why I even bothered to ask. You're a young Saiyan, so of course you'd love something shove into your mouth."
Tomina grinned at Rensu, hoping that his reaction to this would be entertaining. Having this mansion was a surprise to a lot of people. Although the young Saiyan was probably going to be in awe at the scope of her living space.
The youth kept sights on Tomina as they moved forth. He wasn't sure of how her living space was, or how large it could be. In the past, he only visited Carva and Tarro's home. And both of them were well off and lived in comfortable spaces. At least, Tarro seemed to. All he saw of Carva's home was his gravity room and that was about it. He really couldn't have expected Tomina to be living in a rich woman's abode. So, it was only natural that the young man's brow cocked and raised as he and Tomina neared her home. For a second, he thought they had maybe taken a wrong turn. Until Tomina went and simply sauntered right on into her mansion.
His landing was smoother than Tomina's. Flying gave him the privilege of landing with ease and grace. Not that it really mattered. Rensu walked right behind Tomina, his eyes inspecting everything around him. There was some seriously expensive stuff in this place. He could only dream of how she managed to afford this place. Rensu's gaze did land on her numerous paintings and hung images. They all depicted various things. He looked onto the image of Planet Vegeta and wondered when that event may have taken place. He snapped to reality as Tomina motioned him to sit. To which he quickly did.
"Yeah, I guess that's true. Home's not home 'til you're comfortable and happy, right. This place, though- Ms. Tomina. It's huge! It must've taken forever to get it up and keep it up-" Rensu mused. "Huh? Oh, did you read my mind? I'm kind of starving. I'll take anything you got, honest. Just, I need something in my stomach." He nodded happily. His hand coming and clasping onto his stomach. A bit dramatic, but it got his point across. He was really hungry! Tomina

“It didn’t take as long as you would think to set up. I had quite a bit of…hired help. It made building the actual mansion easy. The tricky part was modernizing it.There weren’t that many people on hand who could wire everything up. But now it’s all perfectly armed and ready, so to speak. And no, I can’t read minds. But I know my people. Saiyans never say no to a meal if they haven’t gorged themselves beforehand.”
Tomina walked over to a touch screen on the wall and tapped it, learning down and speaking into it.
“Kitchen! Cook up a full course meal! I don’t care what it is, just make sure it’s good! And bring up some wine along with some non-alcoholic stuff!”
After getting a quick response, she tapped the screen again and sat down on the other edge of the couch. She turned her gaze towards the portraits on the wall.
“I see you’ve noticed my paintings. I drew them myself you know. It’s something I do in my spare time. It helps clear my head and set things straight whenever I draw. If you’re curious about what one of them is, I’ll be happy to fill you in.”
Rensu watched as Tomina went and knew exactly how hungry he was. He was interested in how long it took but his curiosities were answered by her swift answers. It didn't take long, it wasn't all that expensive and she had a good amount of help to construct the estate. Fair enough and it worked for him. The teenager settled in his seat as the woman returned and noticed his wonder on her paintings. She made them? Well, she was certainly more talented than just on the battlefield. Good for her. Ren rubbed his chin and raised a brow.
"Oh? Yeah, I was wondering a thing or two. I guess the first is that first one: The one's with the various ships closing in on Vegeta. When was it and can you tell me who was in those ships?" Rensu asked little by little. He noticed there was a discoloration in the ships as well. "And why are the pods red? They're normally silver or gray, right? The second painting. Whose the two combatants? Were you there for that or was it just something you thought of?" The lad seemed to have quite a few questions and she relessed the floodgates.
His last question was unrelated to the paitings. "What's it like? Being a Super Saiyan. I've never gotten a chance to ask Tarro or Carva because one is helping keep me busy with training and the other is kicking my ass. What's it like being able to just go and get so much more stronger than the average Saiyan? It's gotta be mesmerizing right?" Rensu sat back. His brows quirked. Tomina

Tomina decided to answer his question about the second painting first. The first one would allow her to transition into a question of her own that she was curious about.
“That second painting is me fighting an enemy Saiyan. Or more accurately, against an Alliance Saiyan. It’s every battle I have or will have, past and future. I made a vow a long time ago to kill Natto for what he did to me, to all Saiyans. But he got himself killed before I could get to him. I still intend to kill him though. I will destroy his very philosophy. Ond day he will be wiped from existence entirely. I will make sure that he is forgotten forever. And that means killing every Saiyan who follows his idealistic fantasy.”
A flash of emotion entered her eyes for just a moment. It was hard to tell what it was since there were a few mixed together. Although it mostly was a mix of sadness and rage. Tomina didn’t exhibit any other signs of what she was feeling though. Showing weakness to a fellow Saiyan was not something to be taken lightly. Tomina’s eyes switched to the first painting Rensu questioned her about.
“That’s two different events at once. See the differently designed ships? Half of them are from the old Kold Empire while the other are Saiyan ships belonging to Natto and his brood. In our lowest point in our 200 year war with the Kold Demons and ever species under their command, they came and destroyed planet Vegeta. If it weren't for the efforts of a brave Saiyan task force on Namek, we probably would have died out long ago. They gathered the Dragon Balls and reversed the damage that the Kold Demons did. Once Queen Lettis became the first Super Saiyan in centuries, we paid them back. We won the war and took all the planets they once owned.”
There was a prideful tone laced with her words. The Saiyan sounded happy that her race has come back from the brink to nearly wipe their mortal enemies out of existence. That quickly faded from her face when she talked about the other ships in the picture.
“The other ships came 8 years ago. Natto and the Saiyans who followed him flew down from the sky, and the Alliance-Empire War followed. The Empire fell, and the great Lettis fell at the hands of Natto. A short time after that, he and his wife died pathetic deaths, leaving our race without a strong leader. You can blame Natto for the position we’re in right now. If he hadn’t betrayed us, we could have taken over Earth and the Galaxy would be ours by now.”
Tomina paused for a moment, struggling to still appear outwardly calm while dealing with all the emotions this conjured up inside of her. She managed to keep it together, and continued speaking about the incident.
“That wretched Caesar wouldn’t have been able to take over Vegeta had we been at full strength. And Planet Natto and all the Saiyans who perished when it blew up would have been spared. Those ships are read because that is what they brought. They brought death, and the blood of our race was spilled with their actions. Tell me Rensu, were you born on Vegeta or Natto?”
Even as Tomina asked him that question, her mind was somewhere else. She was staring at the painting with a glassy look on her face. She was gazing through the painting with a vacant expression. It was almost as if it was sucking the vitality from her. She recovered after a minute, turning her head to look at the young Saiyan again. When he asked her how it felt to be a Super Saiyan, top tapped her chin in thought, her eyes drifting upward.
“Well I can’t tell you precisely what it feels like. My Elemi blood has influenced my transformation. I call it Super Saiyan Crimson, but it isn’t the typical transformation. What it feels like depends on what kind of path you go down.Transformations have one thing in common. You’ll suddenly be filled with so much energy that you would have thought you were empty before you could transformed. It is a rush once you look back on it. You’ll likely be too angry to fully appreciate it at the time though. Anger is the key to unlocking that transformation. You have to get strong enough to even reach the door you have to open though. You’ll see things in a slightly different way once it happens to you. You’ll still be you of course, but transforming allows you to see things with a new pair of eyes. You’ll be pissed of at first, and then you’ll love it.”
Tomina’s gaze went back to the young Saiyan, giving him one of her signature smirks. It was fun describing something that he really wanted in front of him. Hopefully it would motivate him further so that he would unlock that transformation all the quicker.
Story time? Well, Rensu certainly wasn't expecting Tomina to buckle down and tell him her experinces and stories. Even so, it was welcomed with open arms. Rensu enjoyed hearing about the nobility and fantastic feats carried out by his race. Although, there were things he wasn't proud of in some aspects, he felt his people made up for their more than unnecessary misdeeds in other ways.
He quirked a brow and leaned forward, resting his cheek in his hand. Boy did Tomina have a deep hatred for the former King of Saiyans. It was kind of insane. He was sure she had some reason to justify it though. <Jeez...Tomina really harbors a lot of hatred in her heart. She's gonna erase Natto's existence..? She's really intent on this.> Rensu's eyes followed Tomina closely.
The boy nodded when she mentioned Vegeta's prominence in the galaxy and its once overwhelming rule over many. As well as it's subsequent demise. It was interesting how these kinds of things worked out. "Huh. I guess we went from combatting alien militias to our own. Nea- Er, darn." Rensu shook his head and shrugged. His brows raising at the names she spoke of. He didn't know any Queen Lettis or who Ceasar was. Nor did he really have any desire to know.
"Vegeta."
The youth said after a second or so. His eyes looking about, from corner to corner as she defined what she believed felt like when she attained her super forms. Like a glass finally being filled with the water it was designed to hold. That was his take anyway. He blinked and folded his arms. Being angry was key. He wouldn't be able to enjoy being a Super Saiyan at first. That sucked. And he had anger in him. It was extremely difficult to call on. It always took an additional shove to make him angry or piss him off. He shook his head and smiled.
"Huh. Alright. I see..." The boy said quietly, rubbing his chin. His tail wriggling a little and waving idly.

Well, it looked like Rensu didn’t have much to say in response to her. In fact, it was almost like he was barely paying attention. Tomina found herself being a bit annoyed at the young Saiyan. Still, they weren’t going to go too far into her past, which was nice. She supposed she would just have to be even more direct with him.
“Anger and other negative emotions are the key to becoming stronger. We Saiyans turn our pain into strength. The stronger a Saiyan is, the more they’ve suffered. That’s the price we have to pay for power. Nothing ever comes for free.”
Tomina laid back on the couch, crossing one leg over the other as she made herself more comfortable. She leisurely laid back, her eyes shifting to look at the younger Saiyan. Her eyebrow was arched up in skepticism.
“You’re from Vegeta. It’s interesting that you call it that. How old are you? You can’t be more than 15. At most you were 5 years old during the Alliance-Empire. Possibly even younger than that. Still, the Empire did linger on for a time after that. Yet your demeanor doesn't fit a proper Empire Saiyan. Were you raised somewhere else?"
"Huh? Yeah, I know that much. Every Saiyan is like that. It's practically a pissing contest for us. Whoever experiences the most pain wins. Whoever has the worst story, means he has the most power. It's our most basic foundation." Rensu shrugged his shoulders. Watching Tomina fix and adjust. His eyes watchng her lay across her seat. He sat up as she questioned his answer.
"I must've been like five. Five or six. The most I can tell you is I remember spending a number of my tiny kiddy days on foreign planets. You know how it is, those test runs? I was with a group of juniors, like m'self, and that was it. Came back when everything was said and done." Rensu's eyebrow arched just the same. Her tone felt questionable. "You asked either Natto or Vegeta. I'm just answering, Tomina." He stated. "I was raised by myself and I guess the elements? Everyone is different. Not every Saiyan is interested in ripping people's arms off only, heh. Being angry clouds my eyes and I hate being blind."Tomina

“Well, there’s more to it then that. It must be nice, being able to view things in such simplistic ways. Things have always been complicated for me since the beginning. I wonder how a Vegetan Saiyan such as yourself still has a childhood. Well, I suppose there are abnormalities that exist.”
Tomina frowned when he told her how he grew up. Something wasn’t adding up here.
“Typically young Saiyans are sent to a plant as part of a solo mission when they’re younger. Typical planet take over jobs were also rites of passage. You send a Saiyan child to a race of fairly weak individuals, and see what happened. I’ve never heard of a small group at that age. I was part of a task force when I was that age, but that was different then a simple planet clearing job.”
Tomina was leaning forward, peering at Rensu. Her gaze looked as though it was trying to see what was inside of his head, what was ticking there. Fortunately the situation was diffused when one of the house intercoms blared to life.
“The food is ready madame. We decided to go with as many things as we could for the meal.”
Tomina jumped off the couch, landing on her feet and brushing herself off. She started walking away, motioning for Rensu to follow her.
“Anger clouds your eyes the first time. You get more and more used to it as time goes on though. Sometimes you have to go in blind before you can see the truth.”
Tomina lead him to a dining area, where a table that had many different kinds of food on it was waiting. Tomina took a seat at the far end, not yet getting anything for herself. Her eyes seemed fixated on Rensu, and what he was going to do.
Rensu's eyes looked directly back into Tomina's. He couldn't exactly figure out what she was hinting at or what she wanted to hear from him. This subtle interrogation stuff was never too useful for people like Rensu. The wau he acted, his simplicity. All of it culminated into his very being: a simple teenager who just so happened to be apart of sn intergalatic warrior race that was known for being top of the line and the greatest, almost ever. He couldn't help that.
"It was a different time, I guess. I was with two other kids. Maybe I'll introduce 'em one of these days."
Rensu followed after Tomina. He was glad the tension was lowered once the call for eats was up. He was excited, though. The lad taking his seat across from Tomina. She wasn't digging in? What, did she have a stomach ache or something? Whatever! "Thank youuuu!" Rensu shouted. Immediately digging into whatever he could. Like a wild animal put before their prey, he was in heaven. He didn't care what Tomina could think of him, his appetite rivaled plenty of other Saiyan just fine.Tomina

“Your friends made it here too? I want to meet them later. I need to know all the Saiyans that I can.”
Tomina ate her food rather conservatively. Normally she would shovel it down, much like Rensu was doing right now. But she wanted to keep a professional edge about her right now. At least, somewhat professional anyway. Tomina’s eyes never left Rensu, even while he was eating. Although she seemed to be in a better mood then she was earlier. She waved her hand dismissively a couple of times.
“It’s fine, don’t mention it. I have more food then I can deal with sometimes. I’m going to get straight to the point as to why I brought you here today. I’m considering you for a position in my squad. Carva and Tarro both have their strengths and weaknesses, but there is one element that is missing. I need someone who’s suited for a supporting role. Your demeanor suits you well for this position.
Tomina did intend to shape him so that he would fit the role of a proper SGK Saiyan one day. However she could tell that he was never going to be as ruthless as Tarro and Carva. Still, she was going to make a warrior out of him. Even if it was using a bit of unorthodox methods.
