Within the Timeless Lookout sat a rather unassuming door set into the wall like any other, with nary a clue as to what secrets it held behind it. Were a passerby to walk by this door, they would likely not even begin to think to check what was behind it, especially given how utterly mundane it was when compared to some of the other unearthly wonders and oddities that the Lookout contained. Jie Shan himself had passed by the room without knowing what exactly it was once or twice during his first few days in the Lookout, but now? Now Jie Shan stood before the plain, wooden door with a reverence that seemed incredibly misplaced for a door.
There was a gravity to the door, one that sucked the silver haired hybrid into its gravity, like some kind of timeless snare. Jie Shan stood before the door, his heart beating erratically as the carbon black Saiyan orbs in his eye sockets stared straight ahead and into the door, as if trying to drill through the wood and into the room past it. But the reveal would come soon enough; though Jie Shan knew not what to expect from the contents of the room.
The young hybrid knew what the room was: it was the magical Hyperbolic Time Chamber, a strange sort of pocket dimension where a year could pass on the inside of it, but only a day would pass within the earthly realm. Prior to becoming Kami, Jie Shan had known of the existence of the room; Komatsu had told him a long time ago about it, once upon a time when the Saiyan brat was meant to have his duel of honor with Jarvis, the corrupted king. Jie Shan had not truly believed Komatsu then, and who could blame him? Jie Shan had been new to Earth at that point, yet unfamiliar with the powerful and mysterious sorceries that ran deep in the planet's earthen veins.
But now the Saiyan and Elemi halfblood knew all about such magics, having been made intimately familiar with them; because now, Jie Shan Lan Dian was the Kami, mystic guardian of Earth. And the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, magical creation that it was, was technically his charge. The young Saiyan warrior turned earthly protector had read about the chamber in the scrolls of long gone guardians; apparently, it had always existed on the Lookout- at least as far as he could tell, though Jie Shan had not yet read all of the scrolls and records on the Lookout, as there seemed to be an utterly endless supply of the vellum and paper little bastions of knowledge- and had seen some use in the past.
Briefly, Jie Shan wondered if it had ever been used to prepare for battle with a maniacal tyrant. Likely not, reasoned Jie Shan, as the Earth was a rather backwater planet. Nothing important had really ever happened here before, surely. The Earthlings were the red-headed stepchildren of the universe, often ignored or disregarded, but damn- they had some impressive stuff going on on their planet. Perhaps it was for the best that they tended to be ignored.
Jie Shan patted himself down one last time. He wore his typical attire, an Earth-make jacket and jeans, his replacement blade drawn tight against the small of his back, resting in its leather scabbard, his tail worn at the hip and wrapped tight around his waist. The man had nothing else, not even any spare supplies. From his understanding, the chamber provided for them once a fighter took to its insides.
There was only one thing left to do: contact his partner for this session. A few fighters had entered his mind as viable companions, but one stood atop the list: the Elemi mechanic, Flare. She was strong, strong enough to be the training partner he needed to push him over the edge and on and up to a new precipice of power- one that would hopefully increase his standing as a defender of his adopted green and blue home.
Jie Shan closed his eyes and briefly relayed a message to Flare, telepathically:
"Flare," he thought, "I'm going into the Hyberbolic Time Chamber on the Lookout. You coming with?"
Casual, almost a joke, but it should have been obvious just how serious the matter actually was. They were training for a much grander purpose; lives and the future were depending on them.
Jie Shan wrapped his hand around the door knob and waited for Flare to arrive.

Sure enough, everything was going to be fine. The mansion was getting worked on, Flare herself replacing the now dispersed floating flames she put around the place as decor. Auntie was seeming well, having gotten out of her medical pod and u[ and walking again. That's not to say she wasn't shaken. The old lady divulged on what she saw between herself, the god king prick that ransacked the place, and the proud soul that is the young half blood elemi Hisashi. Flare was just glad all involved around the prick was alive, and the whole manor didn't get leveled.
Ragnarok and Vitalerra have brought up her dealings with that organization they were under; The young flame now willing to work with them so long as she was guaranteed a bond between Earth and them. An assured strong bond, as many warriors were of Vita's own strength now. And the girl was by no means a fighter. As Ragnarok put it, the more they were all faced with tasks which they had a goal they all personally, truly wanted, the stronger their aspirations became. The more powerful their soul and body became. He believed it to be the cause to why he and Flare, along with some of his children, were so strong of mind and body. They all wanted to achieve a goal, and put their entire bodies into that effort.
Flare just wished she wasn't up against others that were so above her. Have always been above her. Maybe, in that vein then, that is why she was so strong now. That was why Ragnarok and Vitalerra were here. Because they believed in her ability to preserver and be a role model of an elemi. The young flame could only think they were mistaken; She had only ever fucked up. In the eyes of those forsaken kais she might as well have been invisible. You could only push a woman so much before she broe under the weight she carried anyways. Flare felt at any moment she'd shatter. Start willing herself to bend the knee to those superior out of negative emotion and senseless abandon of her own ideals.
Luckily, the Kami was grateful in contacting the honorary Earthling woman to step up with him into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Something she last used a while ago. The tingling of the hybrid elemi's voice shook her from her fast paced creation of another robot. In the garage of her mansion she lifted her head from the dire focus needed for the fast paced job she was putting herself into and contacted the kami in response. Her own fiery mind projected to him.
["Jie. Thought you'd never ask boy. Give me a bit, I've got to collect myself."] It was going to be a bit. Like the last time she really wanted hr Auntie and now the rest of her closer friends and family in the house to see her go in. While the old caretaker was healthy she was a little less than fit as a fiddle. Ragnarok decided he'd carry the old one with him alongside Vitalerra and Jax. All of them wanting to see the elemi off.
They'd all come in full velocity towards the lookout, Auntie freeing herself from Ragnarok once they all managed to make touchdown of the place. Flare'd leave the pack towards the timeless lookout, remembering quite well where the Hyperbolic Time Chamber was. They'd all give quick greetings of hello before the fire elemi looked onwards with crossed her arms.
"Alright. So... You do realize this means spending a year alone with me, yeah? Like... Komatsu was like a little brother to me, so it wasn't as big of a question. But, come on. Ya know what I'm trying to say here?" Flare didn't really care that it could be taken just about any way, and Ragnarok seemed to pick up on the wording with a smirk. Vita only seemed uncomfortable with it. Auntie and Jax both collectively had smiled and nodded to Jie.
"Good luck Jie Shan. Flare." Ragnarok kept his smirk up in almost the same fashion as Flare's own, mimicking her with crossing his arms too. Auntie was being a bit quiet but she nodded to the couple as well and decided to hug the young flame before her rother could chime in with his own concern. While he and the kami were both there.
"So a day, was it? Would it hurt to not also let some of us also use this strange place after your venture in? Flare gave me a little insight but it seems like an impossible place." The young flame did separate herself from the rest of the group at the end though, choosing to stand next to Jie. Her gaze wasn't as perky or quick to glance around but still held a glint in it. She was still willing to let this all work out. Perhaps hoping that the chamber itself would push her to her best point possible. So she'd then be able to finally face her demons and bullies. Face Jarvis and Nasu, shove their nasty ways right down their throat with her purging flames.

It did not take Flare long to respond to Jie Shan; hell, she even seemed eager. It would take her some time to arrived at the Lookout and begin their year long training, leaving Jie Shan alone with his thoughts for some time.
Jie Shan waited and each second seemed like an eternity. Which was, in Jie Shan's mind, especially fitting given the strange, little pocket dimension that he would be walking into soon enough. The thought of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber had kept Jie Shan up will into the night before, only further agitating his already troubled and sparse sleeping. The young silver haired hybrid had stayed awake well into the witching hour, working out various ideas and thoughts in his head while trying to keep the dreaming demons at bay with the flickering and dimming torch of consciousness, a task that always ended in failure. But it was during this time that Jie Shan had crunched some numbers.
Assuming, he thought, that one day in their own primary dimension really was equal to one year in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and that figure was not the esoteric guesswork of one of Earth's previous mystics, Jie Shan had figured out- roughly- the conversion of time between their world and the chamber. For example, he recounted to himself, in the time it had taken him to put his hand to the door knob of the chamber- a single, tiny second which was barely a grain in the sands of time- six minutes, give or take, would have passed in that mysterious chamber. It was ridiculous. A single minute in their world was almost six hours in the chamber. That was not even enough time to walk from the entrance of the Lookout building to the Chamber entrance itself. The very thought was staggering, and in his sleepless state, it had sent Jie Shan into a spiral of questions, primarily about the chamber and how it worked, how such a thing came to be, and questions about the very nature of the liquid-like and nebulous concept known as time. Jie Shan had not come up with any answers, and all he had was guesswork and theories. Reasonable ones, he assumed, but nothing concrete and certainly nothing that could set his trouble mind at ease. Perhaps there were answers in the Lookout's library; such a room was vast and chock full of knowledge, the kind that would take decades- if not more- to read all the way through. But there had been no time to go searching for answers to questions that really did not matter in the moment; instead, Jie Shan had let the questions toss and turn in his head until the black claws of sleep finally wrapped around him and ushered him down into the indistinct quagmire of sleep.
Even this morning had been busy. In addition to deliberating over the chamber, Jie Shan had given very specific instructions to his apprentice and comrade, Dou Furu, as to how to handle the Lookout and any potential visitors while he was stuck in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber:
'Send them away and tell them to come back later.'
Of course, there were exceptions to this rule. Chris and company, his stalwart allies, were always allowed on the Lookout. But everybody else? Dou Furu was expected to show them the door, under orders of Kami. Harsh and a little bit rude? Maybe, thought Jie Shan, but it would serve a purpose. The Lookout could not afford distractions. Or even worse: the possibility of some unwitting interlopers intruding upon the chamber and putting an early end to their training session. No, that would not do at all. From his understanding, Jie Shan knew each person could only enter the chamber twice in their lifetime. And Jie Shan would not let even one opportunity be squandered by some simple minded fool. In fact, the only occasion in which the chamber was to be opened early was if Dou Furu had reason to believe that there was a major threat brewing on Earth.
Time seemed to fly as Jie Shan was locked in thought; only when he sensed a familiar ki signature accompanied by another series of ki signatures did he rouse from his thoughts. Flare was approaching the Lookout: and the chamber. It did not take long for the Elemi and her people to beat feet to the chamber entrance, Jie Shan turning to meet his ally and her own as they arrived. Jie Shan cocked an eyebrow as the young pyromancer came around the last bend; quite the party she had brought with her; but it did not bother him at all. Some familiar faces were apart of it.
"Ah," he said, "There you are. I see you've brought a farewell party with you. It's good to see you all."
He nodded and smiled at each in turn, his smile a little brighter and his eyes lingering a little longer on Flare and Jax when it came to each. But soon another, more delicate question was posed: one about Jie Shan and Flare's year alone together.
"I think I know what you're talking about," Jie Shan remarked with a coy grin, "It's quite the elephant in the room, huh? Let's just say that that. . . well, that's up to you."
Jax wished them luck; Jie Shan nodded his thanks and gave her a thumb's up. But it seemed that Flare's brother, was all business, asking about using the Hyperbolic Time Chamber himself. The Kami paused and considered it.
"Yeah," said Jie Shan, "You can enter later, if that is what you want to do. Let me know when you're ready, and I'll give you to go ahead."
As Flare broke from the group and took her place next to Jie Shan, the young hybrid turned a sidelong gaze at her and cocked his head.
"Are you okay, Flare?" He asked as he turned the knob of the door and let the barrier reveal the strange dimension within.

Jie seemed rather amused with the very serious question Flare posed. The fire elemi reluctantly sighed and rolled her eyes at the response. Jax would prefer just smiling, blissfully ignorant of the implications. The old caretaker had to nod between all of them and step up to give Flare a nice big hug before they'd have to go in. Flare was reluctant to return it with so many people around but... She caved and gave Auntie it back. They'd squeeze on eachother for precious moments. For Flare this was going to be another year apart from her.
"Be careful Jackie. You're strong, you always have been. No matter what fool tells you otherwise. You have and always will overcome your fears. And you-" She pried herself away from the elemi's grasp and stepped over to give jie a good stern looking at.
"You take care of her, alright boy? I'm countin' on you to be strong. She's my little baby, you got me mister? She's wanting to do this, so give her a good time." Despite the light scolding she, too, would try to give the hybrid elemi a hug to set him off with. Pleased overall with the way Jie seemed to handle both Flare and Ragnarok's questions. The latter of which nodded at the hybrid with a clasp of his sword pommel. He liked being understood.
"Then it's settled. Flare, would you like me to get everything set up with the Reclamation Effort?" The young flame rubbed her chin and just nodded. She just pointed to Jax out of the bunch and made sure the robot had its attention on her. There after she'd give the rest of them a broad wave of the arm. She seemed to be putting more authority behind her words than usual. Typically she wouldn't act like leader because she felt she hadn't deserved such a right to boss people around. But.. since everyone was willing she had since changed her attitude towards it.
"Jax, I'm wanting you on full alert. Jarvis caught us all off guard while Koma was off world. I do NOT want something like that happening again. Do ya understand? Tat goes for all of you too. If you're not busy, be on the constant look out." She wouldn't even need to confirm the understanding, the bot was made by her. Of course it was going to know those explicit words. The others of her posse just nodded, Vitalerra being quite formal with the order. So it was understood between them all then. Flare was pretty much ready to go in with Jie, stopping just before entering the blinding light of the dimensional HBTC door. She could only flash him a quick glance before stepping on through. Wanting to be in private before divulging on any of hr own issues.
The insides of the chamber were just as she remembered them to be. Clean. Organized. Timely. probably to sterilized and sanitary. Like a hospital. But that was besides the point. The whole atmosphere and feeling of the air was different. Compressed almost. It was all a feeling to familiar. This wasn't her first endeavor into the timeless chamber. True to its name nothing new really stood out to her. Jie would supposedly be coming with after her, shutting the door behind him and locking the room to its yearly cycle. Well, to them at least. Time dilation was a strange concept.
But of course you also had a girl who could shoot fire from her head.
"Jie... I'll be honest with you. I'm scared." One of the first things Flare would do is try to grab hold of the hybrid by a single shoulder, getting him to level with her. She seemed to be suddenly desperate when not in the group of her peers and family. And since Koma wasn't around Jie'd make due as a friend to talk to.

The Elemi woman sighed and said nothing, causing the hybrid to grin. One of them would have to be awkward about it, it seemed, and Jie Shan was not fixing to be on the defensive. Offense had always been more of his style, anyway, both in matters of combat and. . . other things. There would be no backing down here, even if the question was between comrades. And besides, it was not as if Jie Shan were opposed to the. . . implications that were loaded into that question. It certainly brought a new dimension to the question of their training together, one that Jie Shan had not considered the night before, nor had the thought crossed his mind before Flare herself brought it up.
But there would be time for such thoughts later. Now, Jie Shan's mind was not colored with the red of a string of a fate, but the slight shade of green that came with pangs of jealousy and non-carnal desire. As Flare embraced her aunt, it only reminded Jie Shan of his own lack of such familiar love. While Jie Shan had always believed in choosing his own family, such as the squad of Saiyans he had worked with for years and they had become pseudo brothers and sisters to him, Jie Shan knew well enough that they did not share such a bond as that. Saiyans, he thought bitterly, were typically incapable of such familiarity. For a moment, Jie Shan tried to picture his father embracing him in such a way and he found that he could not. Such an image would not even be right; it was fitting that the wayward son of a warrior race was unable to picture his father- Gai Lan Dian, a man with a heart as black as the same Saiyan eyes he had passed down onto his son- could not even begin to picture his own father in such an embrace. And his mother, an Elemi, was not much better. Infinitely more kind and loving when compared to his father, she was still a rough mercenary woman. Though there was little doubt in his mind that she loved him, Jie Shan could still not quite imagine his mother embracing him.
Another luxury he was not afforded in his youth.
But now Flare's aunt sought to address Jie Shan, a light speech and scolding on the matter of Flare. And what was more, the woman went in for a hug.
Jie Shan stood there awkwardly, unsure of how to respond to such an action. Ultimately, he allowed the woman to embrace him in the alien gesture and Jie Shan stood, unable to react. All he could do was try and find his words. "Erm," he began, trying to find his mind, "I will, ma'am. I'll do right by Flare, I promise."
There was some more talk before their departure, Jie Shan dully recognizing the part about the Homeworld Reclamation Effort, as relayed to him by Miss Cryonia. It seemed as if Flare had many more issues to attend. A far cry from Jie Shan; it seemed as if the two were polar opposites when it came to such matters.
Whereas Jie Shan was oft elusive and aloof when it came to such matters, Flare was much more open and direct. It seemed fitting, almost, that they were training together. An opportunity for the young hybrid to grow whence exposed to Flare.
And now it began. Finally, the two of them took to the chamber. Flare went first, presumably as she was familiar with it, and Jie Shan follow shortly after her. The Saiyan gently shut the door behind him, as if the maintain the otherworldly peace that seemed to permeate every particle of the place. It was almost like walking into a place where ghosts tread, he thought, so clean and not made for people of the mortal realm. Of course, he thought, the room seemed to be designed in a similar fashion as to the Lookout itself, but even still: it just felt different.
But before Jie Shan could say anything else, the Elemi warrior woman took him by the shoulder and confessed her fear to him. Jie Shan blinked? She was scared? There, of course, was a deep fear within Jie Shan as well, but the hybrid had had no plans on revealing it. But if Flare was raising the stakes. . .
"I understand," he said softly.
Gingerly, Jie Shan raised a hand and attempted to gently place it on Flare's own shoulder as if to form a circuit between two.
"Because if we're being honest," he whispered to her, "I'm scared too. Not for myself, though. For you. For Jax. For your family. For Chris. For the rest of Earth and the rest of the universe. Hell, I'm even scared for Komatsu."
Jie Shan gave a soft, little laugh and the tiniest of smiles blossomed on his face. "We're up against some real monsters, huh?"
Hello. I'm Jie Shan and I staff here. Anybody who needs help or wishes to plot is free to contact me on site, Skype, or Discord.

Jie seemed to return much of the grasp on her, divulging a similar admittance to fear. He seemed to understand a little bit of the girl's sudden distress but... Flare'd look away from him. Her grip on his shoulder tightening as she also clenched her free fist.
"Yes we fuckin' are... But I feel now that it's always been like that. For so long these powerful tyrants have tossed around Earthlings, my friends, family, and me. Reality's a cruel mistress and I am nothing but it's bitch, since day one I decided to become somewhat a savior I've gotten nothing but the wrath of my former master, some dastardly thieves, that arrogant king of Saiyans and that WRETCHED, VILE BLUE HAIRED PRICK!" With that the young flame tried pulling from both their grasps and hold he own arms from their sides, turning her back away from him. The tips of her hair started to glow as flames flew from the conflicting feelings. She contnued, her voice ever increasing in volume. Flare was never really the quiet one.
"Every time that BLUE FUCK was around me I've been able to do nothing but bend the knee, or worse be forced to run away! Last time was no different... Every night since the first I've wondered how true all this 'might makes right' nonsense they all collectively speak is true.- I've had to stop myself from taking my rage and anger out on people plenty of times. But Jarvis, he's done something. Went into my mind and scrambled me. I can't think straight and now I wonder if to beat them you have to be as cruel as them. I just hope I'm wrong. That I'm not right in the head and need help right now. I don't want to be like them." The young flame would try and start walking her way out of the one building and step onto the blank expanse beyond them. Staring at the familiar white dimension that would house them for a year. Flare shook a bit in her own grasp and tried calming herself; Seems as if containing herself in front of everyone else was putting a huge dent in her psyche by the way she spoke about this all.
"This could be my last chance. Our last chance. I hate that I've always been too weak, always been too gutless without the ability to back myself up. All those things he did to me, that blue prick, he'll pay for them. Maybe in this life? yes. But he's told me many things. He'll just come back shortly after, he's an actual king of hell! If he wanted to keep toying with earth, even after he died, he could come back over and over again! Whipped, beaten, used as he mocked that I'd never be able to save people from him, from Nasu. That Earth doesn't give a damn about its protectors. He's an insane man, sure, but hours go on when you hear this over and over again. It's like he has engraved it in my mind with your sword.
We're going to train hard. Cover every facet of our beings. If we don't stop him the first time, or the second time, the next after over and over again he'll just destroy us all with his persistence. You can't keep any of these monsters down, so we need to become unwearable. No matter how much they come we're always able to beat them off. To save my home, my planet. I will become a shining beacon of fury and rage for us all. Carry a burden for all of humanity. But... I need control. Auntie does her best but I've become too much of a woman to be handled by my former peers and caretakers." Flare'd turn back and see if Jie had followed her out or not, still wrapping around herself insecurely. Her gaze was kept down as she spilled further whatever was on her mind. She honestly wasn't quite sure how the hybrid elemi was going to be taking this little rant. Not that it mattered unless he had objections to what she'd offer next.
"We're going to start off pretty simple with strenuous training with one another in here, but after a while I'm wanting you to try emulating one bastard or another, and I'll do the same. Fight as if we were facing them. We've got a year here so we best use it in every way we can, yeah?" So why not get right at it, huh? Flare'd lower her arms and take off into the air, hovering a good deal above their chamber floor. Looking out into the nothingness she'd see again for a while in here. To her it was welcoming to be alone to her own thoughts for a while. At least here she didn't have to worry a year that each passing day would threaten her well being. Threaten her sanity. She could be here with a pretty boy saiyan and given a little peace.

There was fire in that girl, thought Jie Shan, unbridled fury like that of the very fires of hell. It was. . . alluring, in a way, much like the way the flames of a bonfire capture eyes and mind in the darkest part of night. There was something beautiful and fierce in the center of flames. And the elemental people certainly had come to embody the qualities of their respective bases, Jie Shan could tell that much after having spent so little time with Flare, and he was certain it would be even more obvious after the next year they would be spending together. . . It was sure going to be a fun one, thought Jie Shan with a little smirk to himself as Flare pulled away, hiding his own interest. Flare, he thought, was hot. In both senses of the word, as he mentally scolded himself for the pun.
Of course, there was the darkness that fell over this occasion, a need for them to be here that was not a simple excuse for a joyride to the future. Flare's rant had hit all the right points; they were here to get stronger to stop maniacs and villains like Jarvis and Nasu, people who would see the universe burn and trillions perish for the sake of their own corrupted desires. They would need to be come unbreakable, like the strongest of diamonds, unstoppable super warriors of justice. Because the hounds of hell were relentless and always nipping at the heels of all that was good in the world. Jie Shan, Flare, and all the rest of them needed to turn the tables. And this was the first step to moving forward, to actually making themselves worthy of being called guardians of peace. To finally getting their justice. And hearing Flare's story, it made him want it all the more. Flare had suffered more than anyone else.
She deserved to be happy.
Jie Shan followed after her as she stepped out into the chamber, but stayed planted on the ground as she ascended skyward. Instead, the hybrid craned his neck and looked upward at her and considered her plan.
"Harsh training is all well and good with me!" He called out, "And when that time comes, let me know. I think I can do a pretty good Nasu impression. I spent more than enough time with the guy to know what I am talking about there!"
Jie Shan laughed, but it quickly fell away and was replaced with a grimace. "Which is a scary thought," he said aloud, "I knew the guy when he had just taken over the Alliance. Hell, I helped him do it."
Jie Shan sighed and began to float up beside Flare. "I guess I never really told you all about my past," he groaned, "Though I guess you always could have asked Komatsu if you were really curious about me."
Jie Shan paused a moment and frowned, a deep and genuine gesture. "He wasn't always rotten to the core, you know?" He asked quietly, "Always kind of an asshole, but never, you know, evil. Just angry and misguided, like most Saiyans. The Nasu we're dealing with now isn't even close to the Nasu I met all those years ago."
Jie Shan turned to face Flare in the air. "I guess power corrupts," he whispered, voice marred with sadness, "We would do well to remember that moving forward."
Jie Shan reached out to grab Flare's shoulder again, should she let him. "Not that I think you're corruptable, Flare," he added, "You're a pretty good chick in my books. Me, on the other hand? I'm kind of an ass, so just smack me if I go too far."
Jie Shan paused a moment and his heart fluttered.
"In any regard."
The words hung in air for a sharp second. . . before Jie Shan was ready to go!
"Alright," he exclaimed, "We've only got a year, so let's get to it!"

Flare just... smiled at him. Turning around and facing him in the skies with a nod. Nobody started off so evil and vile. That much she knew from experience. It all seemed to be unfortunate circumstances that lead to them all taking the low road and become the villains they are. Being a jerk and uncouth is one thing, Flare herself could admit she was, at time, guilty of not being prominently selfless and rude but they could agree there was a point where killing people ruthlessly was beyond themselves. Corruption was just a fact. By now Flare pretty much realized and accepted Jie sort of helped Nasu into the current spot he is in now as a ruthless, murderous Saiyan. It was ironic, that.
They were way more like kindred spirits than Flare realized. Through her own actions she also was somewhat responsible for Jarvis's rise through Shizen. She sighed through her nose as the boy hovered over and grabbed at her again, her smile turning sultry as he got a bit closer to her again. It wasn't like she wouldn't have asked about Jie or would not have done more with the boy beforehand, just.. time and Jarvis happening really screwed things up. A lot. It was neither of theirs real fault for them becoming madmen however. That'd be wrong to pin her or him for that. As far as Flare knew the half-breed saiyan was able and good. She never thought she'd be feeling a bit more personal around another than now.
"We're more alike than you think, Jie. I hate myself for knowing that Shizen trying to gather the dragonballs for me, without me knowing, lead to Jarvis being... what he now. A literal malevolent god. What matters is that we keep a clean mind. I never want to kill people, nobody, but Jarvis and Nasu have made exceptions for me. If getting rid of them someway would allow those less able to fend for themselves then I'd sleep easy and feel good. Because I used to be that poor girl who couldn't fight or protect myself or my friends. Family." Almost like she was compelled to by him telling her that he deserved a slap she'd give him a good wallop with her open palm across his cheek. But she didn't try breaking away from him despite it being rather hard, no. She... reached back to cup his face on the side she just hit with her hand, turning his face to turn back to her. The fiery woman hovered a bit closer into his space and almost pressed her forehead to his. Yeah, that close.
"And you're a pretty good dude in my books. Nobody's perfect hun. I'm definitely not, and I'm more of a fiery bitch than you are an ass I think. So let's get goin'. Physical work outs need to be done, right." She felt a familiar comfort around him. Sure, the two weren't the strongest out there but... He seemed to genuinely be good and kind. Despite the faults she and Koma had with him he personally wasn't at all bad. Besides, Flare did rather fond of those silvery eyes of his. It was a sudden change in the tone of the conversation, sure, but one she seemed comfortable with. After all this time she really didn't have a person she could intimately relate to.
And so would begin their more training style work. This'd go on pretty smoothly for a good month. Flare's lead into strenuous spars and overall exertion and expertise of her forms overall would be of great benefit. Her ultimate form, that of which she just called herself unleashed lacks the speed to catch things. Jarvis had demonstrated this a few times when she tried launching devastating attacks that would fall short. Easily dodged. Flare was, overall, kinda sluggish but Jie would probably see that she compensated just because she was a good deal stronger than he was and just suppressed herself around him to be more fair.
It was mostly as she remembered it. Though Koma would have been the one in her shoes, currently, it seemed she would be handling herself quite well. After that good long period of constant physical wear however it was a great time to change tactics. Branching out, the two would then probably begin their mental escapades. The proposed acting. Supposedly, treating eachother like crap would be great on the psyche when in battle.
"Alright! I think that's been enough for now. Rest, eh?" They were nearing the end of another round at each other, Flare herself seeming to have worn herself finally. She was in her super form, matching it as well as she could to Jie's own. Hopefully their tracking of days isn't far off as it seemed the endurance fight lasted hours but... when was it? The young flame knows how strange the white void could be with the time dilation. The convenience of the building they stayed in couldn't be any more strange than that.
The young flame would drop out of her super form and step into the building, looking through its dressers for a change of clothes, for later, and something to eat. What she wasn't quiet noticing was that part of her fire didn't quite go out when she wanted it to. No, without her knowledge, Jie would be seeing the young flame start walking around with the backs of her arms expelling a very faint flame. Strange seeing as she seemed rather temperate at the moment.

"Quotes are a waste of time. Actions speak louder than words."

Jie Shan blinked once as a sudden slap came flying out of the white void, almost as soon as Flare had finished recounting her story. The hybrid gave a quick yelp, more of sudden surprise than excruciating pain, as the crack of flesh on flesh bounded against the empty space in time. Well, thought Jie Shan, he had asked for it. . . The thought was interrupted as a more gentle cupping of his face brought it back around, face to face with Flare who had now brought her face close to his. Extremely close, he noted, close enough so that he could feel her heat. Something stirred, baser and primal and he felt a sudden desire to wrap his arms 'round her waist and pull her in, whether for comfort or pleasure he could not say.
But Jie Shan Lan Dian did not, he hesitated and let the moment slip away into the white void about them. His lips tremblem, and slowly became pressed thin. Business came first. And besides, he thought, would it be right to pursue such vanities when the earth was in danger and the girl had been through so much trauma and heartbreak, especially as of late? It had only been some weeks since the last encounter with Jarvis. . . For once, the Kami did not really have a response to her tale of woe. Could words really do it justice anyway? So, instead, Jie Shan let the conversation fall by the wayside and let the tide of talk turn to more pleasant and immediate circumstances. His dark eyes gazed back into her own fiery ones, and he thought he saw something more there. The young hybrid bit his lip and tongue, words wanting to come forth but not. Finally, Jie Shan Lan Dian settled on something to say, some utterance that inadequately filled the silence.
"We'll keep each other in line, then," he said softly, "or at least that's the goal, right? We're here for each other, we have to be or else the world goes bottom's up."
He said this, knowing full well that it would be just him and her for the duration of a year. There was some growing longing in him, the kind that which he knew not the answer to. Jie Shan Lan Dian was no stranger to such urges and sudden emotional tremors; Saiyans loved fierce and fast, though they were not excessively good at maintaining such bonds. That which burns brightest, of course, burns the fastest. Who knew what would remain in his addled mind after some time, maybe even a month, of training.
"Right," said Jie Shan, suddenly all business, "Let's get down to it!"
The next month would be arduous training. Jie Shan knew what plateaus he had to strive for. They were golden and glowing, promising power well beyond that of his current golden form. Jie Shan knew they existed, knew that they had to be within his grasp. After all, if Komatsu and Nasu could attain such higher power, who was to say that Jie Shan himself could not?
But Jie Shan was not going to chase a golden goose during his time in the chamber. It would be silly, he thought, trying to force himself into something higher than he was. After all, his power surges had always come naturally to them. Perhaps the further powers of Super Saiyan would arrive in a similar fashion.
So, for now, Jie Shan would dedicate himself to furthering his current power. The following weeks would be spent in intense physical work outs in the Super Saiyan state, oft with the help of a fiery young Super Elemi. And the nights, or what passed for night in this white timescape? The time chamber brought Jie Shan no peace at night, so he was left with little choice but to augment his training with meditation for some hours he ought to have been spending sleeping.
Another round of fighting, one that seemed to have lasted. . . well, it did not matter. Time was ephemeral in the chamber, he had found, and there was no point in trying to keep mental track of the ever fleeting seconds. All they could do, figured Jie Shan, was keep track by the amount of supplies they had left. By his understanding of the scrolls, there was enough for two people for a year. . . And, supposedly, it should be clear enough when they ought to leave.
Jie Shan's mind wandered as Flare called for time, dropping out of her super state. Jie Shan did the same and he watched her go, eyes lingering on her longer than they ought to. He stared at her for some seconds, before his eyes grew wide in surprise: despite having dropped from her transformation, the Elemi woman was still alight with flames.
Jie Shan looked at his own body, seeing if his own elements that occasionally leaked out were flowing. They were not. He frowned. Perhaps it was because of his halfblood, he could not match the elemental persistence of Flare. Though, it did make him wonder. . . just how much Elemi potential was within him?
Jie Shan chased the thought away and followed after Flare, almost like a lost puppy dog. Jie Shan, unthinkingly, lifted the shirt from around his body and began to use it as a sweat rag, running it over himself. The Saiyan tail that was rooted in his back side trailed happily behind him as he made for their shelter.
He arrived behind Flare and looked at her a moment. It had been. . . how long now? Jie Shan was not sure, but his previous feelings had not waned. His gaze still lingered on her whenever his eyes caught her, the occasional pang of desire still coming to the forefront. Think, he told himself, and say something.
"You know, Flare," he began casually, "you're pretty hot."
He grinned wide and paused for a moment, before clearing his throat. "Not just because of the looks," he said, "but also due to the fact that you're still a little bit on fire. Thought you might like to know before you set something alight and leave us homeless in this place."

Flare felt herself tense up as Jie came up behind with a rather casual tone. Her face felt hot... Flare, feel hot? Aside from the obvious human torch joke that wasn't too often that happened. All it took was that small pause between him calling her hot all straight faced and meaning to feel her body get a little light. That small, uncontrolled flame on her arms grew a bit as some small puffs of flame also swirled out of her hair for... obvious reasons. Her head went wild for a moment. Then he had to ruin it with a bad joke. She snorted and turned on around to face him. Leaning against the counter she was first looking around on.
For a moment when she turned around her eyes had a weird tint of grey in their whites. Nevertheless she was smirking and her face was red. Half blushing, half from exhaustion. With a blink though those grey eyes seemed to vanish. She didn't seem to notice this, just like how she didn't notice the random lingering flames on her arms. She was usually sensitive to her own powers.
"When we get worked up then leave me hanging like that just after I can't help letting off a bit. Goodness boy, you'd think you had more sense. I'll have you know that if I was on fire I'd be able to tell." Her own eyes seemed to trail a bit along Jie's own body. Still not minding the flames that had now licked a bit of the counter and threatened it. Whatever, she looked around on herself anyways. Both her brows raise to the strange fiery phenomenon happening on the underside of her arms. Okay... She'd look at it and focus in on the flames to quell it. While they did fade at her whim they seemed to reemerge as soon as she consciously stopped focusing on them. Out of a bit of frustration she sighed and patted the fires down physically to see if that'd have effect.
"Now that's fuckin' weird. Just comes right on back out when I try snuffing it. At this point I have total control over myself, I don't know why that's going on." Flare would step away from the counter. Idea number two, she'd wrap the overbearing battle coat she had on around her arms to just cover her arms completely in the retardant cloth. Of course just covering up was going to keep the flames down again, but this was just awkward and unnecessary. Relenting, she'd instead take the coat off and try ventilating. Her own worked out body sticking a bit to the skin tight fabric underneath. Tossing it to the side and onto the kitchen table she'd sigh and roll her shoulders.
"Okay... This is gettin' uncomfortable." Her eyes catch Jie again though as he's standing there, probably amused by or curious about the woman. Her reaction to things. The more she looked at him the most she couldn't stop as something that felt only like moments started nearly going on for a dozen seconds before she realized she was oogling at him. No doubt her heart felt a rush of this foreign, ancient emotion that she hadn't felt in years. Perhaps in tandem with the fires on her arms the flame around her hairs let loose again as well from both embarrassment and insecurity. It had been several months now since the Incident with Jarvis occurred. Nearly years since Shizen had crossed over to the dark side.
If felt wrong on many levels but right on others. Koma didn't have a high opinion of the guy, and neither did Nasu. To Flare, he just seemed... stuck in the wrong places at wrong times. Like herself. There was a certain amount of respect and care she had for him as a person then and there but she still didn't know the full story. Not aside from what he's already told. Everybody keeps secrets, and quite frankly she'd rather not bother him with wanting to know every little thing. That's not how any of this worked. For months she's felt this inkling of a feeling creep up on her and she also called it before even stepping inside here with him.
In the end it was starting to get hard to control this feeling. And it seems to have built up to this moment. Largely enough to make her take a bold step forward. Then another. The young flame did a good job of keeping eye contact. Of bringing up a new smirk on her face. The heat and volume of her problematically unquenched flames kept raising as this fluttering feeling of something so primal intensified inside of her. Part of her knew this wasn't really right, trying to get up and close with the supposed Kami, as little as that title held to previous members. Trying to get interested in someone when she herself knew it'd be selfish for hr to draw any fulltime commitment from this. Immediate wrongness in this situation might be from how her own flames could hurt Jie. Despite all that, a whole lot of her didn't care. The young flame attempted to put a hand on pretty boy's chest before speaking up again. Holding back her flame as well as she could whilst her mind was clouded with only vaguely familiar territory.
"Look. I'm no a very suave person. I'm not very good at much more than being angry and making crappy jokes. If it wasn't for my status and what's needed of me I'd be cooped up in my lonesome. I keep to myself a lot more than I like to admit, and... Here's the crossroads. I like you, and I want you. I know you can't really tell but I'm trying my damn hardest not to burn you. Plenty of pent up emotion. I dunno if these flames that won't go away are because of you or some sort of power...
Pretty boy. I've little experience with anyone like this. Little experience feeling like this. I've got a good feeling this is mutual, but we both know anything serious right now could... Ya know, hurt this whole defender thing. The planets are too hot right now to try and worry about the either of us incredibly intimately. Opens up a lot of leverage. That doesn't mean-" She'd go to move her hand up to wrap around his neck. Raising up a bit to press herself nearly onto the man. Contact would erupt the young flame in a quick burst of fire that'd only lick Jie before being calmed down incredibly fast. She looked fierce, taking up the flirting from before between the two to 11.
"Don't make me regret this Jie Shan. I swear to the forsaken kais that if you abandon me, the future, or the well being of anyone I'll get rough with you. Heck, might do that anyways if you like. But... You get what I mean, right?... What happens here stays here... until we're relatively safe. Right? Right. I'm capable of ruining you if you fuck with me." Being this close she could feel herself subconsciously hovering over his lips. Flare biting her lip as she went silent for a moment to just look into him. Observe him. There was a visible breaking point as Flare clenched her eyes.
"Can you handle the heat, or get burnt playing with fire?~" Even if he didn't accept her obvious call to action then Flare would still be riding his flirty ass to the ground with her own retorts. Even throughout the training still yet to come for several months still. Doing most the same things with minor switch ups in order to get stronger.

The fiery woman gave a snort and turned about, an odd look in her eyes that captivated Jie Shan for just a moment. He had never seen that before, he noted, and something in him stirred. It occurred to him that he wanted to see that look more and more, but it quickly fell away from the girl and he was left with a simple, but just as encaptivating, blush coloring her face a saucy shade of pinkish red. Jie Shan had to chuckle, his own chest rising and falling as the girl insisted she simply could not be on fire, for she would be able to tell. Though Jie Shan could see those flames plain as day. And another laugh came as the girl finally realized the truth to his words. How strange, he thought, that she'd not even be able to tell when she was burning. Though the young halfblood himself had lost track of his own flare ups before, it seemed especially funny when one considered that Flare's own were fire. Funny, he thought, and dangerous should she go too long without extinguishing the flames that emanated from her body, lest their licking influence set their entire temporary home ablaze.
As the woman took her coat away, Jie Shan's eyes could not help but linger on the woman for a time, amused and charmed. How very interesting, he thought. The Saiyan halfblood was no stranger to women and their wiles, though it had been some time since one had held such a grasp over him. Perhaps it was because Flare was unlike the other women he knew, or perhaps it was the physical proximity that the two had been spending together over the past months. After all, he thought, proximity breeds familiarity and liking.
Still, he thought, there was something about her. Despite having just met, Jie Shan could not help but feel an immediate interest, and dare he say, attraction to Flare. She was strong willed, he decided, just as he liked women. Though, perhaps he had missed the boat on her. . . She seemed very familiar with Komatsu, a fact that Jie Shan was unsure of whether that was a blessing or a curse.
Komatsu and the others be damned, he thought.
Flare took a step forward, and Jie Shan straightened as she came towards him, an electric tingling on his back. His black eyes met her's and his coy grin matched her smirk. Her flames rose, and soon Flare placed a hand on Jie Shan's chest. A pleasing tingling sensation ran through his chest, be it physical or imagined. He could feel the tension between them rising, a dam of emotion that he hoped to whatever forces that be would break. She spoke of the perilous position that they found themselves in, but Jie Shan found himself not caring at all about that. In the moment, with Flare nearly pressing up against him and the sudden burst of flames that just barely licked him, Jie Shan only cared about her.
She stood before him, fiery and beautiful, like some sort of flower caught ablaze. Jie Shan paused a moment and just barely bit his lip.
"Flare," he whispered, "I think he both know that we want this a lot."
He would laugh softly, a tiny laugh like little, silver bells.
"We're living in a dangerous world, you're right," he said softly, bringing his own face closer to hers, "But that doesn't mean we can't try and be happy, you know? Life is fleeting, my dear, so we had better do our best to enjoy it while we can. I think I can handle the heat."
Jie Shan's Saiyan tail twisted behind him and his heart beat, his smile growing soft. A sudden impulse took him, and he would try and wrap his arms around Flare's waist and pull her body against his. If she let him, Jie Shan's tail would move to wrap around the waist of the Elemi warrior woman and she would feel the slightly tingle of electricity running through his body as desire reached a fever point.
"Flare," he whispered, "I want to be with you."
Jie Shan would lean in and attempt to press his lips against her own; a kiss.

Flare was relieved the man reciprocated the feelings, perhaps out of a strong desire to feel this acceptance from Jie Shan. The embrace was close and sensational, Flare wiggling a bit as she felt tingling from the hybrid's own electricity. The Saiyan was rather direct with his declaration, whispering it to her just before leaning in. Flare'd give a soft snort before finding it in her to return the kiss with her own, grasping tight onto the man's neck and shoulder as they'd share their first kiss. Flare's own face was red hot from the intimacy and it really didn't help her staving back the flames that could actually harm Jie Shan.
In the midst of their long embrace however this urge came over her. It was a grandiose feeling, fleeting at first but growing stronger as they persisted. The flames started flowing around her slowly, the elemi still making a conscious effort to hold them away from him. Then, as if something popped into her flaming head a bit of her flames and hair snapped into its super form! Rather than exploding with fire and rage though... The intensity of the usual Unleashed form was subsided. Jie would feel a great warmth rapping around him as Flare shifted into this form by merely this touch. Her power skyrocketed beyond what was normal for her, even in that form. It made a little sense now that they've been training in here for a while what the fire before represented. Progress. After several moments she'd reel back, still in his grasp both arms and tail, and smirk up at him.
Unlocking Mastered Super Elemi!
"Good. 'Cause I want to be with you too. Saying anything else would have gotten you in trouble boy." She'd watch and see how comfortable the saiyan was still so close to him before attempting to lean in and give Jie this time another kiss, nearly jumping up to him to compensate and bringing him part way towards it again. Every bit as sensitive as the last Flare'd let it go on for perhaps even longer before releasing him again and still halfway hug him. For once Flare felt happy. Relief from the burdens put on her by this world and others. She felt like she could finally take a bit to just enjoy a moment, with someone else nonetheless. It took her a bit to realize too she had actually ascended in form here too.
"So weird... Never in my life have I seen someone change from an excess of happiness. Jie Shan, I'm going to spoil you." She'd threaten at last, allowing him to do what else ever then for the while. They still had a few months left to train and get even closer to one another. Like she mentioned however, she'd make sure nothing gt overboard. It was the Galaxy first, herself second. Them both third. It was selfish and selfless in a couple of senses but it was what she was willing to sacrifice to at least have a shot at saving the world. Everyone she held precious. And to teach that blue haired bastard who was boss.
