Vine snuck around the town, creeping about with skill and a desire to remain hidden. He tried to scent morsels stronger than him as he stuck to the shadows, stomach faintly grumbling as he sought more worthy morsels to consume, ones that would empower him further and let him gain a less restrictive form. He felt it, something the larvae could not reach at the moment for he was not strong enough. The scent of a fighter perked his primitive mind's interest, sure his IQ was increasing with each morsel but the stupider ones lowered it.
Liari walked about the ruins of one of the old cities left behind after the Mass Exodus, picking out houses in which to live in... She was surprised to find that not many of what people would consider to be "homes" were about in a city such as this. She already marked off over a dozen buildings on a map she had acquired as being "A place of work" or "No longer Suitable." It was... ominous how quickly things fell apart when their managers disappeared... Electricity had failed throughout the city's grid, leaving most homes filled with the pungent stink of rotting food and the distinct lack of light... It made her so uneasy how the world slowly died after everyone went to the rapture....
Liari gently knocked on the door of a tall, rectangular-like building in the center of town, as was the procedure, pushing the door open and, seemingly without noticing nor caring, broke the lock that held it shut.
"Oh... Why is everything so big..." She whispered to herself, her words bouncing off the walls of what seemed to be a massive lobby, plush velvet chairs in the corners and a desk in the back... Her steps echoed through the empty foyer as she slipped around behind the receptionist's desk, picking through the various papers with mild interest, seemingly interested in the wierdos and wack-jobs that hung out in this place before...
"Wooooow..." Liari ogled a few of these photos that came with the names... Some of them came in there with barely any clothes at all, tight dresses that pretty much hid nothing, save the most intimate details, those with literally no clothes, merely a strap that seemed to cover up their chests and inner thighs... Then there were those men and women with no clothes at all when they walked in, merely holding their wallets beside their well-dressed companions.
"Why did everyone come here naked...?" She questioned, looking back around the room... "And... Why do I feel so uneasy....?"
Vine slowly moved around as a strange thing came up on his radar, sniffing and smelling a rather sweet version to put a name to a face of the strange blue woman who had come into the empty house. There was clothes everywhere and shoes beside them, like people had died but the bodies disappeared; puncture holes that were small but since it was dark they couldn't be seen except for the light filtering through a grimy window.
Watching the blue woman, he shifted closer while remaining in the shadows, having been confused by the seemingly female creature that smelled too sweet to eat; it was almost sickening.
As the little blue majin made her way through the building, moving up from floor to floor she noticed a strange pattern of items: A whole bunch of discarded clothes scattered across the floors, leaning up against walls... almost as if there were people inside them up until the moment they disappeared... She had thought for a moment, as part of weird human culture, mankind simply shed their garments to leave their ties to the planet behind or something... some kind of religious ritual... But the closer she got to them and the more she rummaged through the discarded garments for... well... money, she started to pick up on a new sign: there was always one large hole piercing the center of their being, beit the front or the back... Liari stared in shock as she ran her fingers across the torn, shoved-in fabric, wracking her mind for anything that could've possibly done this... The only thing she could think of were giant mutant insects from human T.V, that suck out the squishy innards of man to eat and become bigger!
Such things didn't exist though... She chuckled nervously, tossing the clothes aside. Heh... of course she was just being over-dramatic... More likely everyone was just having a stripping party or something...
But then why were there holes in the clothing like something impaled them...?
Liari was on the third floor of the hotel now and she'd yet to find any discarded clothing... Somehow, this was worse than if she had found any, the ominousness of the change of pace sending her heart-organ beating at an abnormally high rate. She also became aware of how quiet it was here... How silent... soundless except for the subtle crunch of her own feet pushing against the carpet. A few minutes of this... nothingness and the little blue majin couldn't take it anymore... She was so afraid...
"H-hello...?" She called out, holding her hands to her chest a frightened little girl might... "Is... Is anyone here...?" No answer... her voice just echoed through the halls of the abandoned hotel...
"Anyone...?" Her words nothing but a choked whisper.
Vine watched her curiously with the round orange eyes upon his head, not taking his eyes off the little blue squishy-looking girl. She was a bit stronger than him, a cause for concern but also a faint amount of excitement. Instead of holes in the backs, there were clawlike holes as opposed to one big hole, six in total from his front feet which were his way of absorption once he was able to feast.
Her fear-scent was exciting, pumping a bit of adrenaline into his system; if had it but he didn't. Creeping closer, he noticed her investigation of the clothes as he kept watching her, amber eyes glinting in the gloom with wary caution. Sure he was a larvae, but the absorbed people had taught him a few things about picking fights or exposing themselves.
Nothing... No answer but a soft scuttling behind her, the sound of insects who feasted on the hollowed bodies of what once was a bustling city, or so she assumed... They had the planet almost all to theirselves now and they weren't shy about making their presence known anymore. The little blue Majin poked her head into one of the nearby hotel rooms slipping inside and closing the door behind her. The room was dark... Even for her it was nearly black, the lack of light coming in from the outside wasn't helping that much either. Everything was so dark and it wasn't even Noon yet...
The little blue majin flinched as thunder exploded above the hotel, rattling and making the glass windows scream with it's roar. Electric wails could be heard arch down from the sky as undertone to it's louder master before all feel silent again, scraping the poor little Majin's nerves raw once more... It was even worse now, confined to this tiny, quiet dark place... Liari took a few, cautious steps further inside, looking around for anything... ANYTHING that might've constituted a life... Something she could talk too... something that didn't make her feel so alone...
There was a bed off in the corner of the room, seemingly forcibly pushed against another door in the back, long jagged trails leading from the feet all the way to scrapes in the floor seemed to indicate it was indeed forced out of position. There was a table back on the other side of the room by a closet door, a dead lamp sitting ominously in the center, perfectly placed though it's shade seemed ripped down it's face... 3 large rips... Liari reached out, fighting her own nerves as she pulled the little cord that hung down from it's neck, it's signature click the only other sound besides her breathing in this room.
"Nothing... Figures..." She whispered to herself, turning back around to face the rest of the former residence...
Vine crept after her, watching the little majin stare around with horrified eyes, she seemed to be wondering what had happened to the people and this hotel after the Bio-Android had taken the lives of stragglers for his meals. Watching with a faint rumble of his belly hidden by the thunder, he crept towards the bubblegum girl and then leapt, trying to sink his claws into her back! His curiosity had reached boiling point, even with his hunger for food.
It was the rumbling of the creature's belly that gave him away, a growl that sounded not like that of a hungry stomach, but the growl of a ferocious creature! Liari whirled around to see a massive bug-like creature crouching on the floor below her, a creature the size of a large Lizard or dog just nestled in the corner, it's eyes glowing nefarious orange... sizing her up... Liari couldn't believe the... monster that crouched squatted in the room with her, it's size it's appearance in the darkness, the look it gave her like it was going to eat her piece by piece...
"Wh-what the hell ARE you...?" She whispered, but the only answer she got was an attack. The massive bug-thing threw itself at Liari like it was some kid of board, a thick, stiff movement that shifted its position in such a way that it's clawed feet were now pointed in her direction, apparently attempting to claw her to ribbons with them. The majin yelped in surprise, taken aback by how such a creature could move so fast, ducking low and slipping beneath the creature just before it managed to make contact, her chest rising and falling heavily as the creature flew past... What... what was this thing...?
Well... whatever it was, it's DEAD now! Half of it being natural, the other half forced, Liari converted her fear into rage, gritting her teeth as her pink aura flared up all around her, shoving all the humans' previous affects aside with the sheer force of it's appearance. Gripping her wrist with one hand and pointing her free palm at the creature, Liari let out a roar as she blasted a barrage of energy bullets upon the insectoid horror creature, intent on burning it all to ashes.
Her eyes flashed a dangerous red as she glared at the beast, her rage slowly evolving into hate for it's distinct ugliness, it's horrific, mindless nature of aggression and that it would attack HER of all people...
Vine clicked his mouth in irritation as his attack was dodged, turning around to see the woman's pink aura blazed viciously, scattering the remnants of the deceased whether by his doing or other factors. Deep inside his mind, his anger began to broil as he stepped right through the ki blasts, despite being slightly hurt he tried to slash at her chest with sharp claws, rearing up to do so and whether or not it struck collapse to the floor with a thud, wings buzzing as they rubbed together.
Liari grunted in distaste as the creature barrelled right through her energy blasts, seemingly uncaring whether or not it got struck down. It seemed not to hold a shred of care for it's existance to either block or dodge oncoming dangerous projectiles... It was just as it had appeared... An oversized insect with instincts that failed it... With a loud buzz, the creature's wings revealed themselves, the hum almost deafening as they forced the bug slightly into the air. With a shift of their direction, the monster shifted it's position so that it's clawed legs were pointed towards the majin but also that it's (presumably) soft underbelly was exposed... Liari stepped back just out of range of the creature's gnashing claws as it came at her, raising her hands and blasting at opponent more and more, letting off blast after blast at the creature's stomach in an effort to put it down.
"Why... won't... you.... DIE!?" She hissed after each attack, backing up a little further... until her back hit a wall... Great... Ugh, she forgot where she was fighting! There was no room for her to attempt anything! She then remembered with what little space there was between her in and the monster that there was nobody to protect anymore... Nobody was around to divide her attention... As Sad and lonely as that seemed, this time it actually was a good thing... She could fight as hard as she wanted and didn't have to look out for anyone!
The Majin smirked as her aura flared to life once more, tightening her hands into fists as she waited for the creature to come at her again... She was going to make this thing ache for every swipe it threw her way...
Stamina: 2/3 Using [OT-1] Binding Arm for 5,625 damage.
The mighty bug was irritated at the bubblegum girl, of whom had attacked it after it attacked her. Clicking it's mouth again, the underbelly was just as hard as the upper layer, the hum of the bug's wings quite noisy and almost deafening as it fully came off the ground, rushing her as she was backed against the wall in a ferocious headbutt from it's abnormally hard outer layer. It's actions were retaliation-based, like the main reason it attacked was because she kept attacking it.
It's arm rushed forwards, attempting to bind itself around the bubblegum girl to inflict damage. If it failed, he'd drop to the ground again and click his mouth in a sort of angry way. Maybe if she stopped attacking, it'd leave her alone.
The majin tsked in frustration as her blasts seemed to bounce right off the creature's hide and head as it rammed towards her, apparently attempting to smash her through the wall with it's massive skull. Of course, the majin easily evaded, leaping over head, just as the creatures slammed it's face into the dry-wall ahead, landing on the bed off in the corner, somehow untouched in all the fighting... She hated this bug so much... Nothing she did to him seemed to work! Blasted ricocheted off of it's hide and she imagined her punches weren't much more effective... Maybe she needed to take it up a notch...
Before she could do any notch-pushing, however, one of the bug's fore-legs shot forth from it's socket like some kind of snake, circling her like a lasso. Her eyes widened, shocked that a being such as this could replicated a Majin technique so flawlessly, but not so shocked that she was completely helpless.
"Hmmph." She grunted before her aura flared up once more, forming a thin dome of energy that completely halted his arms as they attempted to constrict. The bug would begin to feel pain as her barrier burned into his arm with it's energy exterior, lowering it the moment he retracted his creepy little limbs.
"Ugh... Just go away!" She demanded, shaking her head as she backed towards the hotel door, clearly unnerved by this giant... cicada thing.
Vine watched her closely, the burning sensation from his failed constriction of the female left his arm burning, turning a blackish color in response to it and prepared for another attack. Not a one came, making the bug click it's mouth as it sat on the bed and curled up on it, watching her with shocking orange eyes but not making any move to attack. It was like Vine watched her to make sure if she did attack he wouldn't be caught off guard, but this morsel was deemed too troublesome to consume when energy counted as people died thanks to some unknown reason. It was confusing almost, but the morsels were dying by the minute sometimes and it was gross once the bodies became mushy and goopy; and it was hard to get off his feet.
The creature didn't seem the least but bothered by it's arm being seared black by it's contact with her barrier, continuing to restrict it despite the pain it SHOULD be feeling. She watched from inside as the creature merely stared back silently, passive for some reason. Perhaps it was waiting for the barrier to drop and was now just... storing energy. Maybe.... It had gone to sleep...? She hadn't seen this creature blink once since it appeared in her room... Maybe it lacked eyelids and had fallen asleep with how passive it suddenly was... The majin shook her head and sighed, quietly deciding that THIS... This was just too much... If she stuck around with a bug bigger than most dogs any more, she was going to go berserk.
With another grunt, Liari dispelled her barrier, sending a small shockwave out in the process which pushed the creature's seared arm back. It would flop to the floor, assuming that it doesn't attempt to restrain her again or retract itself, giving the majin some space to make an escape attempt. She raised a hand to the ceiling, firing off a large energy bullet overhead that ripped through the try, unkept ceiling like it t'was but tissue paper, the Majin following close behind. She didn't want this bug to follow her and there was no evidence this thing could actually fly with it's stupid, ridiculous size... Only hover off the ground. That, and she wanted to put as much distance between her and it as possible before making a break for it, hence why she didn't jump for the hotel-room window.
A second or two and a bunch of floors later, Liari burst out through the center of the hotel ceiling, staring down the way she came with a grimace of disgust on her face... She raised a hand above her head, a moderate-sized energy-ball of pink ki swirled into existence just above her palm, growing larger and larger as she forced more Ki into it, so much that it was taking about as much physical effort to keep the thing contained as it was to pump her energy into it. Liari glared down into the hotel, right into the room from which she came...
...But she didn't throw it...
The little blue majin sighed, shaking her head before the energy she'd collected faded away into nothingness. With a reluctant frown, she shot off into the distance, never to return to the city of mutant bugs ever again.
