Demalia was reclining on a park bench, leaning back with her eyes closed. She knew this likely looked odd to people, although it was nothing people would fuss over. She certainly wasn't going to be mistaken for a bum, that was for sure. She had her laptop and some other affects in a bag right next to her, but she currently didn't have it out. In truth, she was taking a break from her normal routine just to get some sunshine and relax out in the open. She had been working on her main project for quite a long time, and had spent more time then was probably healthy in her lab. Not to mention wearing the heavy weights under her clothing all the time got tiring after awhile. So she was just out there in the open, relaxing without a care in the world.
"Planet Plant, huh..." Frozen murmured to himself, clasping his chin with his finger and thumb inquisitively. He had just arrived here since he'd left his empire, his first stop to see if it was worthy of becoming part... So far, he was impressed... The place was nice and populous, he'd seen no crime at all since the time he'd walked off the landing-bay a few hours ago and everyone here didn't seem all paranoid about newcomers... Curious, but not paranoid. The kold-demon's meager physique in his 1st, suppressed form, left him looking rather unimposing, a good stance to be in when one would just like to survey.
Frozen found himself walking into one of Plant's entertainment centers known as a "park", where nature was present but controlled and the sky was free of traffic... He had no such things on the planets of which he claimed... Nature was on a tight leash in those parts, only allowed to survive due to the needs of the people. Places like this... Where birds chirped and chimed happily and leaves rustled in the wind without falling to the ground dead... Places like these he'd definitely need.
The small frost demon rested on a small bench provided by this establishment, many of which dotted the park. Across from him was a girl who seemed quite worn out and exhausted, sitting on her own bench like she was going to pass out at any moment.
Demalia’s has managed to clear her head in the first time in awhile. Her current projects, the serious of events that had set her on the path she was now going on, all of it was pushed to the back of her mind for the moment. Honestly if she focused on it all too much, it would drive her insane. She had so much that she was dealing with and it was overwhelming at times.
Yet she couldn’t take a break for too long either. Work kept her busy and distracted her from the more unpleasant memories, and the feelings those brought with them. Demalia didn’t know if she would ever fully get over the death of her parents. Hopefully time would heal her wounds. Although it still hurt whenever she thought about them.
Demalia opened her eyes, blinking as she saw an alien sitting across from her on the other bench. Aliens visiting Plant wasn’t too uncommon. Although this was only the second time she had seen a member of the Kold species. They were very distinctive and stood out like a sore thumb. Demalia internally debated whether or not she should approach them, but her curiosity got the better of her. Which wasn’t uncommon for the Tuffle hybrid. She didn’t get the chance to really examine the last Kold that she encountered.
Demalia slipped her laptop bag over her shoulder, and walked over to the alien. Even with her weights on, carrying the once heavy bag took no effort on her part. Her shoulder didn’t feel any aches from doing so. It was one of the many changes she was going through as she got stronger and stronger. Demalia stood there in front of the Kold, looking down at him quizzically.
“Um…. I don’t mean to intrude on you… but… it’s unusual for a Kold to come to this planet. May I ask what brings you here? If you don’t ask me asking that is.”
Demalia shoulders sagged, her body leaning forward slightly as she felt a wave of exhaustion hit her. It wasn’t enough to make her pass out, but it was definitely noticeable to any onlooker. Demalia has been pushing herself hard. Her body had her limits, despite how durable it had become. She really did need some relaxation, although her curiosity wasn’t going to let her do that it seemed.
"Hm?" Frozen hummed, caught off guard by the girl's sudden appearance before him, asking him about his presence here. He blinked, saying nothing for a second before letting out a soft chuckle, patting the seat beside him as if to offer it to her. It was only the polite thing to do. "Oh! I suppose it is! I'm just looking around, seeing how the local planets are doing. Might I say, Plant has much to offer the universe, let alone it's governing bodies." The Kold demon smiled, his gaze running all over the natural beauty of this "park" before eventually resting on the girl once again.
"My name is Frozen. I come from... a ways out of town you might say." The demon extended his hand to the girl for her to shake, hoping she'd take it. "My people aren't as adventurous as I'd like them to be, huh? I suppose I'm special in that case!" He snickered again before his face growing slightly more serious, though a gentle smile still played upon his features. There were definitely other reasons afoot for why he was here... Sight-seeing was merely the tip of the ice-burg... And this girl might know something about it... His most up-to-date intelligence informed him that the man he was looking for had passed through here... Maybe this local knew something... saw someone... Then again... she might not. She's also already shown herself to be curious and the last thing he wanted was for a random citizen to be drawn into his affairs... It looked as if Frozen was about to say something, his mouth opening slightly... Before he closed it and chuckled to himself, shaking his head. What was he thinking...? This wasn't her business...
"So! What's your name, pretty lady?" The kold demon inquired, his tail lightly tapping against the rim of the bench. "To whom do I owe the pleasure of this conversation?"
Demalia raised an eyebrow at the Kold’s statements. He was further confounding her with every word he spoke. The way he was speaking was strange. His wording made it sound like he was talking to someone who didn’t understand the concept of space travel. Which was something every Tuffle knew about.
“Your species comes from Planet Frost, doesn’t it? They’re a close second to us in terms of technological prowess. Perhaps that’s the reason not many of your species comes around. It would be harder for you to make a living here.”
Demalia extended her hand, tentatively shaking the hand of the alien. He seemed friendly enough at first glance. Of course she would reserve judgement until after she got to know him. Demalia usually though everything out slowly and deliberately before she came to any kind of conclusion.
“Demalia, it’s Demalia. It’s nice to meet you, Frozen. Why is your species so fixated on naming things relating to the cold? You aren’t renowned for using cyrokinesis, so why do you gravitate towards names like Frozen or Frost?”
Demalia sat down on the bench, setting her bag down and leaning back against the wood. he was offering her a seat, so she was going to take it. It was hard to relax while standing up. It seemed as though she was going to converse with this individual for a bit. Although she had a feeling that it was going to be an interesting interaction.
Frozen blinked in surprise as the girl began probing him with questions and observations, putting the Kold demon somewhat on the defensive when it came to this conversation. Well, he didn't mind all that much... After all, when he was petitioning planets to join his empire, rulers often wanted to know about him just as much as he wanted to know about them. It was a position he was comfortable with. The girl, having introduced herself as Demalia, questioned why his people favored names that had to do with cold things... In all honesty, he didn't know, nor care. Such things were FAR below on the list of priorities of an emperor, as modest a kingdom he ruled over. Still, t'would be rude to ignore her question and he didn't want to seem ignorant by being unable to provide an answer so he constructed one instead. Perhaps he was even right.
"Second to you...? You must be a tuffle then." The Kold demon observed, taking her hand gracefully, giving it a firm, friendly shake. "Well, don't expect us to remain below you for long, Demalia, because we're inventing new things every day. As for where we originated, yes, the Kold race did indeed come from there, but I do not nor do I consider it my home." The small demon shrugged. "The Planet I come from is small and out-there. Probably wouldn't find it on a star-chart." yet. Yet, indeed...
"Why indeed do we prefer 'cold' names... I suppose we use them to remind us of where we come from and who we are. Our planet is frigid, we can survive in the depths of space and we call ourselves 'kold-demons'. A bit much if you ask me but I can't change my race's culture... A better question is, why don't you all use names such as that to describe yourselves? I see another name in you, Demalia... Something like... 'Mechatorque'." The demon smiled wide as if he'd said something clever though a little piece of him cringed... She was too beautiful for that name... He couldn't think of a single metal/mechanical title that would fit a lady... they all came off as... grinding... rough to the ears...
"I am not looking for work, my dear." Frozen sighed, leaning back himself, resting his tail in his lap. "Just visiting for a while, getting to know people. That's my job."
Ah, so this guy was proud of the capabilities of his race then. Demalia understood taking pride in one's work and being a part of a community that you wanted to see do well. Demalia’s gaze shifted to the side away from him, withdrawing her hand after she was done shaking his hand.
“That’s a good way to look at things. Technology is ever evolving and is a very competitive industry. So it is conceivable that one day you could surpass us.”
Demalia had decided to be nice and didn’t tell him that it was unlikely that they would. The Tuffles were just in a class in their own when it came to technological advancements. Most of the technology in the galactic community had either been invented by the Tuffles or inspired by Tuffle technology. Scouters for instance were the standard issue equipment most people used to communicate and detect and read power levels. That had been first created by her people, and no one had been able to make anything that could replace it. Tuffles were the leaders in technological advancement, and everyone else followed them.
Demalia turned back to look at him when he mentioned he was from a planet far away. Now there was something that she didn’t expect. He came from far outside the nearby star systems. This was most certainly unusual, and Demalia wanted to figure out more about it. His answer to the cold-themed names was interesting too. She didn’t expect him to turn the question around on her, that was for sure Demalia rubbed the back of her head, looking up towards the sky thoughtfully.
“An uncharted sector… did your ancestors leave Planet Frost to migrate to the world that you grew up on? That’s quite the distance to travel… were conditions on Frost unsuitable for living on in the past? I can’t really tell you why we name things the way we do either, to tell you the truth. Even if it doesn’t look like it at first glance, our names do have meaning. We’re just not as on the nose about it as other cultures are. I would be aghast if my parents had decided to name me something like the one you just brought up. They had more sense then that, fortunately for me.”
If Demalia was put off by the terms “lady” and “dear”, she didn’t show it. Her social skills were rather lacking, so even if those weren’t just simple formalities, it would probably go over her head. She wasn’t very used to talking to too many people like this after all. She leaned back on her bench, closing her eyes as she tried to relax a bit.
“Your job is getting to know people? Are you some kind of ambassador for the Kolds? Although you just said You didn’t grow up on Frost though… so you can’t be an ambassador on behalf of them. I can’t think of what else you could be though.”
This person was certainly getting more and more mysterious the more she talked with them. She was getting more questions then she was answers right now. Although it wasn’t anything too out of the ordinary. Some people weren’t very open to strangers, herself included. So unless he did something very unusual, then she was going to treat this as just a casual conversation with a stranger. So she could afford to relax a little bit, given the current circumstances.
Frozen laughed at the girl's response to the name she gave him, happy she didn't actually CONSIDER it. What a disaster that would've been. A girl such as she running around with a name like "Mechatorque..." In anycase, she seemed so fixated on the idea that Frozen was somehow linked with the primary Kold-Demon empire with how often he brought it up. Even after telling her that Planet Kold was not his home and that he lived WAY far out in no-man's-land, she still had it in her head that he was part of the empire. Heh... Perhaps he wasn't making it clear enough...? Or maybe she was too tired to notice...? He could see the strain and the sweat on her brow from here.
"I couldn't tell you about why we moved." Frozen replied honestly. "Father never talked about why he detached from the empire. Money... power... greed... jealousy... There could be any number of reasons but one thing is for certain, it wasn't because of habitation issues. The Planet's the same it's ever been and the same as it ever will be: a frozen wasteland to all but us except in a few areas. Your names have meaning do they...? I suppose they would since your kind identify with them." The kold-demon raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms. "My name could be 'branch' and it'd have more meaning than my current name. Seems to be how they work."
It was then that Demalia had taken an interest in how he explained his work, questioning if he was some kind of ambassador for the Kold empire. His lips curled into a smile as she drew a little closer to the truth, glad to see people still thought around here.
"You could say that, sure." he nodded, his grin widening. "Gotta get to know people for the sake of the empire. See how people are doing, what rumors are afoot, those kinds of things. For example..." Frozen raised a finger. "I heard that there was another Kold-demon passing through here... Looked much like myself but taller... Had two white horns curling out from his head and had a mask over his face. In fact... I've run into a bit of trouble because of this..... individual. Have you heard anything like that, my lady? He seems to be quite the talk-of-the-town since I arrived here."
This guy seemed to have a very cheery disposition. He would chuckle or laugh at the drop of a hat. Demalia didn’t share in his humor though. Perhaps in his culture it was more common to be amused by this type of conversation. Although from the sound of things, he didn’t seem to be a part of the normal Frost society. Did they have a falling out with the rest of his kind? Frozen didn’t seem to have an answer to that though.
“Your names don’t have that much meaning? Usually a name has some kind of important to the person naming them. Or they put quite a bit of thought into it and give out a name for a specific reason. It seems strange to be given a name that doesn’t mean much. It is an important part of one's identity.”
Demalia fully opened her eyes when he asked her if a Kold had passed through recently. It made her think back to that fateful day, which changed the course of her entire life.
“I did encounter a cold demon here recently. But he didn’t have a mask on of any kind. He helped me out of… a tough situation. So he cannot be the Kold you’re looking for.”
Demalia closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths, trying to relax in her seat. The last thing she wanted was to have a panic attack in public. Bringing up that horrible tragedy was always hard for her to handle. She supposed the wounds would close with time, but for the time being the pain hurt her greatly. Once she calmed her racing mind a little bit, something clicked in her mind. Something he said didn’t add up to what he said earlier.
“Um… I might be mistaken, but didn’t you say that your father broke off from the Empire? So how can you be an ambassador to the Empire? Did you recently rejoin your brethren on Planet Frost?”
Demalia sat up slightly, fully opening her eyes and looking at Frozen with bemusement. This guy was getting more and more curious by the minute. Demalia wanted to know as much as she could about this person. He seemed to have come to Planet for unique, mysterious reasons. The Tuffle hybrid intended on getting to the truth of it all.
The Kold demon sighed as the girl apparently completely mistook what he'd said about names... What he had said was that if he called himself something strange instead of his current name, like this girl's name for example, his old name wouldn't have the same meaning. T'was sad... for a moment, he thought they were on the same level. Instead of continuing on that train of thought, Frozen ignored it and instead paid attention to what the girl said next, a response to his inquiries of the Kold-demon he was looking for. Well... that too was unfortunate... but not unexpected. Chillie had a knack for not being seen when he doesn't want to be, Frozen was finding out. Would make him jealous if the guy wasn't that much of a traitor....
The girl seemed to understand something when she questioned what Frozen had told her before, asking if he was some kind of ambassador for the Kold empire after all, given his father's status. She questioned if he'd rejoined the empire or something, assuming he left it or was joined too it in the first place... She was so close... but so far... He wasn't quite ready to reveal his intentions to this planet yet, though so a bit of misdirection was in order.
"I'm not my father." He responded, looking at her strangely. "People do not have to follow in the footsteps of their parents. Such a thing would imply I'm a traitor to my race, which I am not. But like I told you, Planet Frost is not my home. I've never even been there but yes, I am indeed a servant of the empire."
Suddenly, Frozen felt a presence... It wasn't ki, for the frost demon couldn't sense such a thing... no... this was more like a presence... a pressure... a very heavy one... It was just then as well that he noticed that no one else was around... not in the park, not even in the surrounding city that the Kold demon could see. Something was very wrong here... very wrong indeed...
"Hey..." Frozen questioned, looking around. Not even the animals were abuzz with noise... Everything had gone quiet. "Where did everyone go...?"
The Presence PL (NPC. Location... unknown unless Demalia would care to sense it's location x3): 15,000
The disappointed sigh the Kold threw her way made Demalia frown. Did she say something wrong? She was sure that she didn’t offend him. Well whatever it was it couldn’t be all that important. Especially considering everything else the guy was saying right now. Demalia sat up, tilting her head slightly as if she was examining some kind of strange specimen.
“I didn’t mean to imply that you were some kind of traitor. Um… if I did then I apologize for it. People aren’t responsible for the things their parents do. Not that your father did anything wrong…. I’m sorry!”
Demalia bowed her head apologetically, a tinge of pink appearing on her cheeks. She had embarrassed herself and quite possibly insulted the person she was talking to while doing so. It was while she had her head down that something clicked. Demalia slowly raised her head, making a conscious effort not to turn her gaze away from his face. Her embarrassment was clearly visible like this, but she had to be direct with him right now.
“Um...when you say you serve the Empire, are you referring to the one established on Frost? Or one that your father created? Correct me if I’m wrong, but if you’ve never been on Frost and came from a planet far away from nearby systems, then it stands to reason you wouldn’t be aligned with the current Frost Empire. Is that why your father originally left Frost? Did he have a falling out and form his own Empire? I‘m not implying that your father was a bad person or anything like that. But um… the context seems to imply that this is the case. Am I interpreting things correctly?”
Demalia was pulled out of the ever-deepening hole that Frozen was digging when she felt a strong pressure in the air around them. Demalia looked around and indeed saw no one around them. She quickly folded her glasses and slipped them into her shirt pocket, taking out her scooter and setting it over her right eye. She activated it, and two things immediately stood out to her.
“Everyone is moving on evacuation paths. They’re following emergency procedures and are heading towards the nearest shelters. Why are they... wait... this power level..... It’s…”
Demalia took out a capsule and opened it, a long rifle popping out into the air. She caught it in midair and knelt down, securing it on her shoulder and looking up towards the sky. The reading was unclear as to where it was right now, so it would be best if one person watched the skies while the other kept their eyes on the ground. Demalia began to charge up energy in her weapon. She had an apprehensive look on her face as she prepared herself for the possibility of a fight. If her fellow Tuffles were acting like this, things didn’t bode well.
“ A power level of 15,000 ... That’s far beyond anything a normal Tuffle can produce. I think we found your brother. Or rather… he seems to have found you.”
The last time strong alien powers had appeared, Demalia lost people close to her. She wasn’t going to take any chances this time around. She was not looking forward to a possible confrontation again, as she hated to fight. But from the look of things, the situation could easily take a turn for the worst.

Demalia uses her Energy Gun and begins charging her [OT-1] Gun Beam! 25% > 50% charge next turn.
Frozen hesitated as the girl read off the power-level her scouter provided, his body "freezing" for lack of a better word.
"15,000... There's no way he's that powerful..." That number was simply something that couldn't be... Chillie was never one for training, always taking pride in his strength as he grew... He saw martial arts and such a tool of the lower-classes as a futile attempt to stand up to their masters, never something he'd sink so low as to take up himself! But this number... 15k... Not even in his second form did Chillie reach that level of power. The last time they met, his max in that form was more around 13,000... What was going on here?
"So it would seem." Frozen responded, his voice edged, yet neutral. He'd caught the direction in which the girl had scanned with her scouter and he assumed that was where this 15,000 power was coming from. As he was, there's not a single thing he can do. This form is too weak, to small to have any kind of weight in a battle. However... If he transformed...
"Excuse me, madam... I need a moment." Frozen quickly sprung off the bench where they sat, landing a good couple meters away. Clenching his fists, the demon's power exploded all around him in a massive flare of blue, his chest suddenly exploding out, swelling as if a bomb of some sort had gone off inside.
"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" He roared, next his legs suddenly expanding hugely to match his chest's new bulk followed soon by his arms. Then, his head began to expand back, arcing over his spine in a bean-like shape, his nose fading into his face... When he arrived at his third form, Frozen stood much taller, 7'11'' as he rose to his full height, towering over the girl in both power (currently) and size.
"Sorry for the wait..." His voice had grown much deeper and more intense, as if his power was speaking through him. "I am going to... have a word with him. Come along if you wish."
Whether or not the Tuffle chose to or not, the Kold demon would shoot off into the city in the direction he assumed where his brother was seen, coming to a stop before a tall building as he bore witness to a horrid sight... There, standing atop it's flat roof stood Chillie... In his first form...
"Hello, brother." The smaller demon greeted, smiling as he ran his eyes over Frozen. "My, and you came in your third form... How... nice..."
Frozen PL: 25,664, 3rd form Chillie First form: 15,000
Frozen seemed just as shocked by how strong the reading was. Apparently her brother wasn’t suppose to be this strong. Although she was in for a shock herself once the Kold transformed. Demalia’s started wide eyed up at the alien that now towered over her. He had a fairly strong power reading too.
<He’s huge! He over 25 thousand in that form too…. how strong can he get?>
The initial shock did wear off fairly quickly. The intimidation factor was made less significant when she realize his power was considerably lower than her max power level. He quickly flew off towards the direction where the power signature was at. Demalia ran as fast as she could, jumping over and weaving to and fro to avoid obstacles. <I really need to find a way to fly. Either I need to learn how to use that technique or find some kind of workaround that would allow me to do so.>
Demalia made it to the building that Frozen had landed on. She could see that both his and another power level were up there. Demalia bent her knees and jumped high into the air. She managed to traverse the great heights in a single bound, and land on top of the building. She climbed to her feet, staring at the other Kold that was there. He was smaller then Frozen, so that could mean he was in a weaker form then him. If that was the case, who know how much power this guy really had. Demalia continued charging energy into her gun, although she didn’t point it at the unknown Kold just yet. She didn’t want to come off as too aggressive. At the same time, she wanted to be prepared if things went south.
“Um…. may I inquire your name? Everyone seems to have evacuated the area… did you have something to do with it?”

Demalia continues charging her attack. 50% > 75% next turn
Chillie didn't seem overly bothered with the girl's presence. In fact, he didn't seem to notice her initially, too involved with his brother. The smaller Kold demon smiled, the lines of his face as sharp and edged as any weapon, eyes glowing with the mind of a man who knew everything he was going to say. Frozen saw this too and knew that this wasn't just spontaneous growth... This wasn't just something that happened over night... Chille had been preparing for this... He must've...
"Brother. It is good that I found you. We have much to discuss." Frozen replied, ignoring the smaller Kold-demon's jabs. He held his arms wide in a gesture of peace. Chillie looked him up and down and snorted, his smile twisting into a condescending smirk. He pointed a finger at his brother's chest and he smiled wider, his eyes flashing red with ki...
"And yet you come to me in this form... Now why would I trust a man who tries to out-do his discussee with his third form, hmm...?" energy crackled at the smaller demon's finger-tip, enough to make Frozen's eyes widen with dread... Even in his third form, if this attack hit, there wasn't ANYTHING he was going to be able to do to stop it from putting him down. Just one well-placed shot and it would be over.
"Come now, Frozen... You really must admit... putting me at the disadvantage like this and then talk peace is... well.. almost like something Father would do, isn't it? But it is good to see you... I know you've been looking for me... And I know what you want... Let us talk in a more private place, hm?"
Frozen knew what his younger brother was about to do but he had no time to stop it. His eyes widened as Chillie's finger suddenly pointed down at Demalia, a small thin death-beam shooting out from his fingertip and right at her head.
"NO!" Was all the older kold-demon could shout, watching helplessly as the beam shot closed the distance in mere moments... He wasn't expecting any kind of attack on her. Even when Chillie and Frozen fought over their father's empire, they NEVER endangered civilians before! What got it in his head to start now!? It was almost like......... like he was acting like his father.

Demalia seemed to have become an afterthought to these two Kolds. Which was only natural, since they were siblings. Although the conversation they were having was… strange. Even a recluse like Demalia could tell that something was off about this exchange. This guy… Demalia felt a chill run down her spine when the other Kold looked at her. This person was dangerous. That was what Demalia thought before he fired the laser at her.
That attack came at her so fast! She did the most natural reaction to her, which wasn’t to shoot him with her gun. Despite the fact that she had been charging it ever since this person’s energy signature had appeared. Demalia immediately powered up to her full power and dodged it. Not her full power under her weights mind you. She pulled out all the energy she had inside of herself, which was enough to send the weights flying off her onto another part of the roof. Now that Demalia was at her full potential, leaping to the side and dodging the attack sent her way, wasn’t a problem. Although it disrupted the charge she had been building up.
A purple aura surrounded Demalia as she pointed her gun directly at Chille. Her aim was shaking slightly, although it wasn’t enough to divert the shot should she choose to fire of him. She still felt a little nervous, but she felt more anger than she did fear right now. She was mad that yet another alien thought they could trample all over her just because they thought they were stronger then her. This time around it was going to be different though.
“I don’t know anything about you or the rift between you brothers, but it has nothing to do with me or any of the other inhabitants of this planet. I’m only going to ask one more time. Leave this planet now, or I will drag you into the authorities myself. Attempted murder isn’t taken kindly around here, so leave…. NOW.”
Demalia started charging up her attack again. She honestly didn’t want to reveal her full strength. Her overwhelming energy was coming off from her in waves. Her strength was far beyond anything a normal Tuffle could produce. She was exerting pressure upon the area around them. She hated having to do this. People got frightened whenever she revealed how strong she was. Or as in the case of Onnato, whoever found out about it. Both of these people would be terrified of her more then likely. Although one of them needed a good scare. She wasn’t going to tolerate this kind of behavior!
