Normally an event of terror and possibly the last thing the ten warriors of Universe Seven would ever get to the face, it all came down to who would have been the last man standing. As much as it was terrible, one of the Universe was going to be destroyed no matter what and if they really had to choose, it had to be Universe Four. Whatever would have happened, though, was still a relatively distant future and there was only one month of preparation.
However, he couldn’t just be upright honest; the Tournament of Power excited him! Ten warriors from another universe-- he couldn’t help but wonder how strong they were! He was all fire for the tournament, of course, he was also wary of the whole getting erased stuff, but it didn’t positively get in his head.
He was somewhat confident that Universe Seven could win and not to mention the fact that even if it did concern him, not one bit would have changed.
He also found this to be a good purpose for his newfound strength and current training, and even one more reason to ascend as quickly as possible to a dimensional breaking level. Super Saiyan Three was his goal, and he didn’t know how much it’d take for him just to get there, but his training at Kaio-sama’s place had been quite fruitful for the moment, and he was still going to stay dead for a while. In the meanwhile, Cornatto had been chosen to pick the warriors that would have made their team; there was so much work to do! However, he had been given a little lead at least; to recruit the five strongest warriors in the entire universe.
Corn had already most of the names; he just needed to catch them all, as for the moment, he was pretty sure that Nasu was one of the top priority-- his incredible power was needed-- that was obvious, yes. He didn’t think he would have had a hard time to recruit him either! Nasu was still a pure-blooded Saiyan warrior, despite their differences, Corn was sure that such a challenge would have excited him just as much as it did to Cornatto. Not to mention that Nasu cared for the Saiyan race’s survival-- and everyone in the Universe was involved, this time. Earthlings, Saiyans, Namekians, everyone.
But, at least, the first top five were easy to find; he also had the chance to catch a glimpse of them during his last moments on Earth and although, as much as someone may have expected Cornatto to dislike having to deal with some of them. He didn’t care that much about it, either. Being as careless as Cornatto was, he didn’t even hold a grudge for his death; he had been enjoying his time in the Afterlife. Not to mention the fact that the whole team would have had to get along probably-- he wasn’t way too sure if teamwork would have played a role in this, but he guessed it was better to be safe than sorry.
“Hehe… that’s gonna be hard,” - he said to himself as the man quirked an eyebrow ever so slightly before it was quickly noticed by a mysterious figure; a Kai who had been assigned to him so that he could provide as transport throughout the Universe in his search for members. He didn’t hold any important position, but he sure had some fancy clothes on! The Kai raised an eyebrow and looked at the mortal questioningly. “Hm? What is going to be hard, sir?”
The Earthling Saiyan rubbed the back of his neck and chuckled. “Nothing, nothing! Just thinking out loud, anyway, are we ready to go?”
The Kai smiled and nodded his head. “Yes, shall we?”
Thankfully the Kai was able to teleport anywhere he wanted-- he just needed to think about it, and they’d get there; it was a pretty cool skill and made this so much more comfortable than just having to revive and go left and right to recruit a few people.
“Yeah, let’s go! To Nasu’s flagship!”
Cornatto was quick to place a hand on the Kai’s shoulder as the two’s figures slowly faded away from their current plane of existence and teleported out of the Afterlife and into the living world; in one place in particular, aboard the Star Javelin. Cornatto was looking forward to meeting one of the first of the top five members of Universe Seven and recruit her into the team. Hopefully, he had only seen a glimpse of her on Earth, but she had claimed to be Lettis’ daughter who was quite a deed itself.
“Lettis’ spawn, huh? Man… I feel sorry for her mate.”
The man thought to himself as he slightly grimaced at the thought before the man let his hand off the Kai who quickly glanced at the taller man and moved his arms behind his back in a formal manner.
“I’ll be right back to pick you up when you need me to,” - said the Kai to which Cornatto responded to with a faint smile and waved him goodbye. “Alright, see you later!”
Cornatto was left alone as soon as the otherworldly presence Kai Kai’d out of the ship, and the Earthling Saiyan had an excellent chance to take a glance around the ship; the Star Javelin, he still faintly remembered it from his old times spent with the Alliance and Natto. It was somewhat nostalgic to be back on that vessel. “Haha, it’s sure been a while! I sense quite a few presences around here, but the kid is definitely here too.”
The Kamesennin noticed that he was nearby the room that led to the entrance, so he just made his way through the corridors, whistling quietly as he was confident that energy as massive as his own wouldn't go unnoticed having appeared out of anywhere.

Tomina was lounging in her quarters, thinking about everything that had transpired and what was to come. Earth was a complete disaster for the Kingdom. Not only did Nasu die and the tree of might taken away from them forever, but they had suffered major casualties as a result of that invasion and an attack by Nakiya and her forces. An attack which ended up destroying the home world they had taken for themselves. Most of the remaining SGK were on this ship. If they wanted to get their numbers up again, then there was really one course of action that would make the most sense. The only way to restore their numbers quickly was with the Dragonballs. The only alternative was to go into hiding for a time and procreate as many Saiyan children as possible. Although that would take years to actually come into fruition. <To think that we would be pushed this far to the brink of destruction... curse the Earthlings and those Demon Spawn. One day they will all pay, I will make sure of it! My power has already increased by significant margins, and I intend to get much stronger!>
If there was one thing that the invasion of Earth did for them, it was that the Saiyans who had taken part of it and survived had gotten much stronger. All the major Saiyans had eaten from the Tree of Might, which gave them a power boost. Not only that, but both Kinoko and herself had gotten a Zenkai boost from their defeat during the battle. Tomina especially had risen to surprising new heights that she didn't think she would reach. Still....
<I've only got these powers because I lost to my crazy Aunt. Damn her... It won't go that way the next time we fight!>
Tomina gritted her teeth as she thought back to how she lost. Flare was stronger then her, but Tomina had the edge due to her ace technique. Then her aunt obtained a new transformation in the middle of their battle, and had ended it instantly. Tomina had underestimated her and didn't think a pure blooded Elemi would be able to do that. She would not make that mistake a second time though. Suddenly Tomina felt a strong power just appear on the ship. It felt familiar though. Tomina jolted up, leaping to her feet and walking briskly over to her door. It wasn't anywhere near how powerful she had become, but a foreign power on their ship could do a lot of damage. Especially if they were a species that didn't need to breath in space such as the Kold Demons. Although it wasn't a Kold Demon. When she saw who it was, her jaw dropped. She lept backwords, staring wide eyes at someone who shouldn't... no, who couldn't be there.
"YOU?! But... you're dead! I saw you get blasted by Karota's attack! There was nothing left of you! How are you alive?! How did you get here?! TELL ME NOW BEFORE I SEND YOU TO OBLIVION!!!"
Tomina was so focused on his face that she would likely miss any other significant details about him. She held her hand out towards him, although she couldn't seem to charge up the energy needed to carry out her threat. It was probably a good thing, considering that her arm was shaking enough to affect the trajectory of whatever she threw out at the Saiyan that stood before her. Tomina was put in a state of shock by Cornatto's appearance. Although who knew how long that would last?
Cornatto had already been looking at the walls nostalgically; he evidently missed the old ambient or whatever, it just felt comfortable to the Saiyan. He wondered if Karota and Miso were also here, he didn’t want to encounter them or have a spar in full space. He didn’t even know how they would react to seeing Corn still around but either way, at the moment, he had come over there for Tomina, not for his insane battles. Although he wished that he could arrange a fight or something, it’d be what he needed to get even stronger.
Tomina herself was reasonably convincing, not as much as Natto’s kids but still entirely something. Not to mention the fact that he could sense Tomina’s energy even closer than before and he assumed that she had seen him in that case. Though, the female Saiyan also actually made her way towards the Saiyan and found herself scary because of a ‘ghost.’, Although he had to say, the way that she threatened him and demanded an explanation at the same time, she was hilariously just like her mom.
It had already been a big lucky shot that apparently the one person to catch him first was Tomina, and thankfully no one else tagged along at the moment. It would have been kind of a bother to explain the situation to every single one of them, not to mention the fact that they would probably want to fight too! But as of the moment, at least for what regarded the ship itself, Cornatto had only looked forward to meeting Lettis’ kid and see what he could get out of that; hopefully, the answer would be one of the first members to join Universe Seven team. Either that or getting erased.
As soon as Tomina took a mental note of the man’s identity, she immediately reacted and leaped backward-- completely understandable, maybe even laughable from Cornatto’s part given the fact that he found it kinda hilarious. Then again, she did indeed see him getting vaporized, and the last thing Corn had thought he’d do was to board the flagship out of nowhere just to speak with one Saiyan in particular.
The martial artist immediately giggled and lifted a hand up in greeting. “Hey, it’s me, Cornatto!” - the man exclaimed cheerfully, he didn’t evidently give too much of a matter to Tomina’s threats nor did he overthink of her attitude, he was used to it from interacting with Nasu either way.
Tomina was actually right; he couldn’t be there. But he wasn’t alive either, but Corn was probably even more surprised than the female hybrid given the fact that he was given this job, not that he minded it; he was going to meet with some of the strongest people in this universe! He was so damn excited, he couldn’t even wait for the tournament to begin and for him to fight so many different fighters! He definitely had no complaints overall, but at the same time, he wondered if there was anything else that he should have established as a leader. A strategy, maybe? He guessed he could just put that stuff aside for the moment.
The priority at the moment was to find the ten members for the Tournament of Power.
The Earthling Saiyan tapped his chin in thought for a brief moment before he pointed at the golden halo that floated above his head. “Well, yeah! I am dead. Haha, you see, I come from the other world. But yeah, that’s not important right now. I have come here to talk with you, actually!” - said the man. Tomina was one of the most powerful Saiyans he had met in a short while other than Nasu and Komatsu, her power didn’t rival the one of Natto back in the days and thus she was still weaker than her mom but she was slowly getting there.
“There’ll be a tournament-- the Tournament of Power in less than a month and we need you to join in the Tournament of Power. Long story short, there are lots of universes out there and there is a guy, someone called Zenou-sama who rules over them all. We’re one of them but apparently we’re one of the weakest, so… to avoid getting destroyed, we’ll have to fight another Universe and beat them,” - he said as he evidently struggled to summarize all of it in those few words but still, probably enough to catch the gist of it.
But, at the same time, the Earthling Saiyan had taken a short break from his speech and had given Tomina the chance to think about what he had just said; he could understand that it’d be hard to her to believe him, especially him who was a traitor to the former Alliance and honestly, no one allied with the Kingdom-- not at all. But, as much as she could try to elaborate on what he just told her, no amount of preparation could probably prepare a person for the last part. Now, whether Tomina would have joined or not, it was actually a very important member since she was among the Top Five, but at the same time, if she really had Saiyan Blood, he was sure she would have joined regardless but the others deserved to know the truth as well.
“Also to lose, it means total erasure; Zenou-sama will erase the losing universe. And when I say erase I mean it; not destroy or fight but completely vanish,” - the man paused for a brief moment as his expression gradually turned firmer as he stared at Tomina. “I don’t know you very much kid, and I’m not sure if you fight for anything but if you do, but y’know, this time it’s not just about Earth or Natto, it’s all about everything and everyone. So, what do you say?”

"Other world... tournament of power... other universes..." Once again, Tomina was getting all these terms thrown around at her. Of course she thought it was some kind of conspiracy between the Kais and Alliance Saiyans. She had humored Nasu with his beliefs because Tomina knew better then to argue with a monarch who could kill you without the slightest bit of effort. Yet with Nakiya apparently returning from the dead to destroy Saiya and with everyone talking about the afterlife (or otherworld as they called it), chinks were starting to show themselves in Tomina's armor. Yet she couldn't believe in it, since the existence of an afterlife went against her own ideals and views. Tomina kept her arm outstretched, gripping her wrist with her other hand to steady her aim.
"This conspiracy that your precious Kai's have going on is getting old. They claim that they're trying to save the universe from destruction, and yet they go and play sides. They've fought against the Kingdom on multiple occasions. Their latest treachery with the fusion technique cost Nasu his life. They sided with the Alliance Saiyans because you disgraceful peace lovers agree with their line of view. That's how it works: you ally yourself with those who either share your views, or you subjugate others to work under you, which is what the Kold Demons did at the height of their power."
Tomina kept her cold gazed fixed on Cornatto, managing to get her arm to hold steady. She had gotten over the shock of this appearance of this most definitely recently deceased individual. Although she had yet to blast him to oblivion. Which was good news for him... probably.
"Either way I accept this invitation. If this really is all a hoax and just a trap to lure me in and kill me, then so be it. I was selectively bred to be the ultimate warrior. I could train and outlive most of my adversities since I have a lifespan that far exceeds normal Saiyans. And now that is my only option left, since all my immediate plans have been crushed. Nasu was my trump card in dealing with beings like Caesar, but now he's dead. It would take me hundreds of years of training to get to a point where I could defeat that fusion technique. But by then everything that I'm fighting for will be gone. I'm tired of living when I keep losing, and seeing my home burn to ashes. So if this is a trap, I'm walking into it. I'd rather die in battle then to live a pointless life for centuries. I have nothing left to accomplish my mission if this is all a lie, but..."
Tomina broke off, letting that thought hang in the air. She lowered her hand from her wrist, having managed to steady it completely. If she decided to shoot at Cornatto, it would be at point blank range. Although she seemed to be seriously considering his invitation.
"If it is true... then I still have a purpose left. I still have reasons to fight. Reasons that are none of your business, but reasons none the less. I don't care for most of the beings in this universe, but I will fight till the bitter end to keep this universe existing. Now you are going to tell me everything you know about this tournament. What are the rules are, who else you're inviting to participate, who we're fighting and their capabilities, everything you know. If we're going to do this, then we're going to do this right and coordinate a strategy. We need to be as prepared as possible for something like this. Where do we go from here?"
For just a few seconds, Tomina looked... hopeful. Like the possibility of an afterlife and this tournament happening gave her some kind of happiness that Cornatto likely wouldn't understand. But the harsh glare she was giving the Saiyan returned in a heartbeat. She was not letting her guard down around him at all, not one little bit. Cornatto would have to choose his next words carefully. Scratch that, he was going to choose every action from here on out carefully. Even though Tomina seemed receptive to the idea of participating in this, she was still skeptical of the idea that this kind of event could even happen.
Otherworld, the tournament of power and other universes.
It was indeed a weird revelation as it seemed that Tomina wasn’t correctly used to the concept of these three’s existence and honestly? Nor did Cornatto! He had just learned it recently; perhaps one would say that they were difficult to even comprehend and they were!-- That was why Cornatto just nodded it off and believed what they had told him because either that or Lagerus-sama and Whis-san would have to sit down with him for a good hour or two before he could have finally learned it for good. But, by his understanding, there were a lot of universes and some of which were also twins.
He didn’t know in what relation two universes could be twins, but the idea sounded pretty neat, honestly, but there were also some differences out there-- he wondered if there were other Saiyans out there-- in the different universes. That would have been pretty neat, honestly, because there were always many fewer Saiyans out there and it would have been a relief to know that his race wasn’t about to get extinct or something, because, last time he checked, both planets filled with Saiyans quietly died.
Planet Natto and Vegeta.
When it came to the Tournament of Power, it wasn’t even a matter of dying any longer-- everything would have been erased. The afterlife itself, without leaving anything but nothing to replace where the Universe once stood. Now, whether it was Universe 7 or 4 to get erased, it didn’t exactly sound pretty on both ends and as much as mortals may try to prevent it-- it was all but possible. Gods had powers out of the imagination, only Lagerus-sama herself was so powerful and yet couldn’t do anything about the tournament apparently.
He could only wonder how powerful the King of All was; it was going to be either one universe or the other, and if they cared for themselves or others, Universe Seven had to survive.
Tomina also mentioned something about conspiracies and whatnot, honestly? Corn didn’t even know what she was talking about, he hadn’t stuck up too much with either the Alliance or Kingdom to know, but in one way or the other, he guessed the Kais tried to help the guys on Earth, and they held a grudge or something. The man put his closed fists on his hips and stared at her curiously.
“I know nothing of these conspiracies. I’m plenty sure there’s lots of reason for you to be mad at them, but, they don’t have anything to do with this tournament right now. Everything I say comes from, y’know, Lagerus-sama herself, the God of Destruction. Nor do I particularly ally myself with anyone or call myself a defender; all I want to do is get stronger. Then, if all the powerful guys that come on my homeworld do it to threaten it, it’s certainly not my fault!” - exclaimed the man with a genuine smirk on his face. The Saiyan was a lot more interested in fighting strong guys than taking up a role such as a protector or whatever, of course, he’d do it either way, but it wasn’t indeed in a legitimate interest of being known as a hero or whatnot.
Though it looked like that even before Cornatto even had to say one more word, Tomina decided to accept his offer without too much of a problem; he had expected this to be way worse, but he guessed that he had just managed to press a right button or whatever.
“Really? Haha, awesome! Don’t worry, I mean… do I look like I’d do some trap?” - he asked the female hybrid as he pointed to himself with his index finger both his arms folded over his chest. “If you feel so then, more of a reason to join the tournament, don’t you think? There will be tons of amazing guys to measure yourself up with, whether Nasu is still alive or not, you are very strong already-- pretty sure you can get even stronger.”
The Earthling Saiyan watched as the Half-Elemi lowered her hand and blinked twice in surprise, he hadn’t indeed expected her to drop that off-- given whose daughter she was. Though he had already assumed a lot worse than what he had received, it looked like she wasn’t probably nearly as terrible as her mother. Or well, not at first sight, but the one who knew her for good wasn’t certainly Cornatto.
“To be frank, I am sure you have your reasons but don’t ya’ worry-- you can keep them to yourself. What matters is that we can count on you for the team. I, for one, am most intrigued by the challenge, not the erasure. I am sure we can manage to survive, after all!” - said the man and paused for a brief moment. Cornatto sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. “Look, I almost know as much as you do, honestly. I know a few things, though. The Tournament of Power will be made of ten members each-- we’re against Universe Four who is another weak universe under the risk of getting erased.”
Once more, his arms fell from his chest to his sides as the man bent his elbows ever so slightly and let his hands rest on his hips. “We can not use items-- so, no healing capsules or senzu beans. No flight is allowed, so we’ll have to do this old style. You are the first confirmed member of our team-- next on the list are the rest of this universe’s strongest guys, including your King. I do not know anything about Universe Four, unfortunately. Regarding a strategy, the battles are individual-- but after each fight, you immediately get into another. So, you’ll have to be careful with your stamina and try not to get hurt too much.-- Oh! Also, the best warrior in the tournament gets a wish with, uh, the Super Dragon Balls. I am not too sure what’s the deal with them being super, but if you do not know, the dragon balls are orbs capable of granting any wish.”

Giving his carefree response to some of the things she said, either he was carefree and lax to a fault. Or... yeah, she took that back. That smirk said it all for her. Tomina wasn't exactly the most humble of people either, but she hated arrogant people like this. Those who thought they were so much better then her because of where they stood morally. Wasn't his fault that people kept on trying to threaten his homeworld huh? Tomina scowled at the older Saiyan, folding her arms together.
"Wow, you weren't the one responsible for burning your house down. You must be so damn proud of yourself for not making the mess you have to clean up."
Although the fact that it this summon came from Lagerus made it a foregone conclusion that Tomina was going to check it out. She wasn't sure if Cornatto was aware of the run in she had with the self proclaimed God of Destruction. Where she witnessed her effortlessly parried and attack from Nasu while he was in his Super Saiyan 3 state. Honestly Tomina wasn't going to take a chance with this individual. Tomina sighed, rubbing the back of her head with her hand.
"As I've found out, looks don't really matter when it comes to strength or cunning. For example you look like a strong Saiyan, but you didn't even last 5 minutes on the battle field. That being said, it doesn't really matter if it's a trap or not if Lagerus is involved. I'll be more likely to die if I don't accept an invitation from her, so you don't need to bother with your flattery. I'd prefer it if you didn't do that actually. Getting hit on by an old man feels gross. But you're right, I intend to get much stronger then I am right now."
Tomina still wasn't accepting the existence of an afterlife, but she wasn't going to miss out on insulting the other Saiyan whenever she could. That being said though, she was going to take this seriously now that she knew that the purple mutt had a hand in this summoning. Still, hearing that he didn't know too much about this tournament either was not exactly confidence inspiring. Tomina lowered her hand down to her side, putting her hand on her hip.
"I can find a workaround with the no flying rule if it comes down to that. There's still going to be strategy involved in which fighter we send in to take on whoever they have out there. The key seems to be able to take out as many of them as possible yourself, since there isn't going to be a resting period for the victor. So whoever gains the number advantage will have an edge in this competition. I need to know who else is on this team and to meet up with them to coordinate strategy. Gather the rest as soon as possible, within 48 hours. We shouldn't spend this time idly waiting around."
Tomina raised an eyebrow when Cornatto brought up the Super Dragon Balls. Now this was intreiguing. Did this mean they were superior to the wishing orbs that Namek and Earth were fabled to have?
"I've never heard of these Super Dragon Balls, but every Saiyan not raised under a rock knows of the wishing orbs. What makes these dragonballs superior to the other ones? And what qualifies as "best fighter"? Does it refer to how many opponents you eliminate compaired to everyone else?"
Cornatto couldn’t accurately read the fellow Saiyan well that much, but then again, he guessed it was for granted given how different they were; it was a little bit like when he tried to get along with Nasu-- same results! But well, at least he could count on her to help in the Tournament of Power. Although he wondered just how much teamwork would have been essential given the fact that all members were probably supposed to work together in that case and by all means, Cornatto would have preferred just taking them on by himself. It was only his Saiyan nature as a warrior and perhaps a little bit of his martial artist self that wished to test himself rather than just winning. He also wanted to win, though, that was obvious.
Though, Corn couldn’t understand her that well, especially when she told him something about him burning some house down. He blinked his eyes curiously and comically enough tilted his head and stared at her. “Uhm, well… Pretty sure my house is still up and running. My daughter is there, too, so… yeah. Not sure what you mean cause my house surely wasn’t burned down.”
Whatever she meant, Corn was sure not to get it unless she were to explain it bluntly to him. Mostly because he wasn’t probably aware with what she was talking about at all, but he guessed that it had something to do with stuff he wasn’t around for-- probably in the latest few years or something like that. He had lost the count of the years he had gone missing for to raise his daughter, but again, it was cool to be around once more.
The man also had no idea that Tomina had a previous encounter with Lagerus, he had honestly no idea that she had even approached Nasu for whatever reason and everything related to that was pretty much unknown to him for the moment. But he could relate with what she felt; Cornatto did spar Lagerus for that short while it lasted-- needless to say, he couldn’t even faze her, but Corn guessed that she was satisfied enough with his performance despite the fact that he got ‘destroyed’ from a God of ‘Destruction.' Not the best of his jokes, but whatever.
One of Corn’s eyebrows lowered while he lifted up the other one and pouted his cheeks as he folded his arms over his chest and glanced at her in regards to her little comment about the Tree of Might battle. “Aww, come on, that’s rude now! You know I died for my old friend and your comrade’s sake,” - he said, and the man honestly felt mixed feelings for his old friends back on the battlefield, but oddly enough, it was all but fixed to him. The Turtle Hermit didn’t hold any grudge towards them-- he didn’t accept their actions, but he knew they were just that much loyal and Cornatto pretty much forgave even Karota for her death blow. He was sure that she didn’t mean it either way, but well, hopefully, they were going to meet later after the tournament! After her death, maybe.
The Earthling Saiyan brightened slightly at her little mention of Lagerus, though. She was probably right, Lagerus was either on the edge of actually destroying Cornatto or leave last time, but he didn’t think that she was legitimately a bad person! She was just nervous or something like that. “I know! I insisted to spar and man; I got my butt whooped! Hehe, but I’ll make sure that the tables will flip sooner or later and the gods will feel it too!” - the man mentioned with a hint of excitement and the faint trace of a smirk on his face before it fell and he stared at her.
"...Hit on you?" - he repeated as the man looked at his hand confusedly before he exchanged multiple looks between his fist and the fellow Saiyan before he just dropped his hand to his side and glanced at Tomina. "Did I hit you without realizing it? Hah! Maybe my training at Kaio-sama's paid off, and my instincts are going ultra!"
The man wasn’t one to immediately grasp that sort of idea when one came at him with a statement like that, but that was maybe part of naiveness or just the fact that he wasn’t particularly interested in both ‘that’ and the individual itself in that way. Hitting was fairly more appreciated by him than hitting on, though!
He would have liked to fight the fellow Saiyan someday in better circumstances, of course, though, Corn was going to have a little bit of a hard time to balance both this recruitment stuff and training, but he was sure he could manage somehow!
Then, Tomina proceeded to talk about the rules and whatever else. Cornatto didn’t have too many issues with the no flying rule, after all, it felt like a comeback to the old school fighting back when he was a kid but other than that, he guessed it would have been a little troublesome if Universe Four had someone with wings, since they could fly. But on the other hand, he was a bit unsure about what Tomina was talking about-- the man was quite confused, and thus he decided to speak his mind before the girl would end up getting the wrong idea about the tournament.
“Uhh. All I know is that we’ll be tossed in a place and I doubt we’ll have the freedom to decide the match-ups either. The only thing I can suggest ya' for the moment is to fight carefully, without wasting too much stamina but not to be too careless I guess! As of now, you’re the only one on the team, but soon, I plan on having the other five strongest in our Universe to join us-- your King, included!” - the man paused for a brief moment to smile in amusement as he giggled faintly. “Gonna have one hell of a time to get him. We never got along back then, but I am sure he will join. He is a true Saiyan! Just gotta go and pay him a visit in Hell.”
The man was then about to turn around and say goodbye, but then Tomina asked about the Super Dragon Balls, and to that, the man could only tap his chin in wonder. “Sorry but I don’t know much about them. I only got one experience with those orbs in my lifetime, and it was back on Earth when I was about…”
The Earthling Saiyan clicked his tongue as he bent slightly forward and crouched down to his knees as he lifted a palm up to about the height of his head. “About this tall!” - the man exclaimed and huffed as he straightened his back and once more stood up to his full height. “Given their name, though, yeah. I am pretty sure they’re more powerful than the Earthling ones.”

Tomina’s vision went completely black, Cornatto’s voice still ringing in her ears. Well, anyone else’s vision would go black too if they had their face buried in both of their hands. Someone this stupid had been picked for the position of team captain? God have mercy on all of them. Tomina’s voice was muffled by her hands, but still audible enough for the older Saiyan to understand her.
“Forget it, there’s no point in explaining it now. It’s about as important as your death was to me, regardless of the circumstances.”
Tomina raised her head from her hands as Cornatto mentioned that he tried and “sparred” Lagerus. Although that person would have had to make an effort not to accidentally oblitterate Cornatto if it was actually a serious spar.
“Then you have a huge mountain to climb. Lagerus stopped an attack from Nasu in his Super Saiyan 3 form… with one finger. I’d say the gap between you and her is about the same gap an insect has to the average Saiyan. Of course, that’s only going to make you more excited to get stronger then her, isn’t it? Maybe if you start training 24 hours a day you can reach her level in….. Two centuries? Probably more. I can’t sense her energy at all, so I have no idea how strong she actually is. Other than her strength being beyond anything I’ve ever encountered before.”
Tomina didn’t bother replying to his other misinterpretation of her snide remark. Sarcasm and anything remotely like it went completely over this guys head. She listened to all that Cornatto had to say about the tournament, which unfortunately wasn’t much. Other than general fighting advice she already knew fairly well. When fighting a marathon of opponents, energy conservation was an essential component of the fight. It was something she knew well. Tomina sighed, rubbing the back of her head.
“You should at least go and learn about the tournament you’re recruiting for before you go and gather your potential candidates. If that’s all you know, then there’s really nothing more to discuss right now. Go and gather the others and contact me once you know more about who’s in it and what the rules are. I have an idea on who some of the members are going to be based on what you said, and it gives me a headache just thinking about it. But I’m going to have to meet everyone on the team so we can coordinate things better. If we’re as sloppy as you’re being right now going into this thing, we won’t stand a chance. Oh, and I want you to relay something to Lagerus."
So, Earth also had its own pair of dragonball, judging by what Cornatto said. That wasn’t surprising, considering the old legends. Namek likely had their own set, and now these super dragon balls were on the table. Tomina filed that information away for later, sliding her hand down to her hip as she voiced her message to Cornatto.
“Tell her that I respect her and her authority, and will do all I can to make sure the other candidates do as well. I cannot guarantee that I will be successful though, considering who else is likely to be on this team. I will follow her orders, and if it’s required I will follow your orders as well. , But I will also put forward my own thoughts and advice on matters. And even though I’m going to probably hate at least half of my fellow teammates, I will put that all aside for this one time for the sake of the universe.”
Tomina turned around, and began walking in the other direction. If she spent any longer talking to this guy, she was going to get a migraine. As she made her way back to her room, she said a few parting words.
“This goes without saying, but tell Lagerus that I accept the invitation, and will take part in this Tournament of Power. Even if there wasn’t so much on the line, it’s a good opportunity to test my new strength.”

Exiting the thread, unless Cornatto has something important enough to stop her from leaving. Will take PL for this.
The Earthling Saiyan blinked his eyes in confusion at her reaction; was she having a headache or something? He couldn’t tell so much what was going on in the other Saiyan’s head; the communication was kind of weak but probably better than what he would have expected from the spawn of Lettis. She was a little better than her mom, at least he could give Nasu’s army a little more merit than what he would have to the old Saiyan Empire. If it were them that he’d be recruiting at the moment, it’d have been problematic. But he didn’t seem to find too many problems with the current Saiyan Kingdom.
The youngling said to forget it, but Cornatto still looked quite confused from her reactions and whatever else she was on about, but he guessed that was as far as they could get regarding communication. Though she did still slide a rude comment or two, they slipped off Cornatto’s shoulder like leaves; he wasn’t that much interested in those comments anyway.
“Uhh, well okay! And hey, whether it was important or not, being dead isn’t even that bad! It’s fun,” - he added with a slight smile on his face.
Although, he could sort of keep on track with the whole Lagerus talk. He had to say, that Nasu had gone leaps and bounds from when he was a kid, not only in power but also experiences! That the man had already fought the God of Destruction, and that even Super Saiyan Three was no match, he wasn’t surprised at all. Even after his power had hit the energy of the legendary transformation, it was no use against Lagerus, but in a certain sense, he was glad that he was still far from her.
“So, Nasu fought Lagerus! Man, to think that even in his Super Saiyan Three form-- actually, it’s not that surprising! I did fight her with a power equal to that transformation, after all. It might have been short, but I wish I would have been there to watch it, nonetheless. I would have had more of a chance to understand her fighting style better.”
It gave him the motivation to keep going, a reason to train-- something that could fuel the fire within his soul. It was remarkable just how much Lagerus was powerful, and at times, he couldn’t help but wonder how far she must have worked for that power, too! No one was born with ability, after all, not even Gods. That was also why he was inevitably going to give it his best, even if took him all eternity, he didn’t want to become a God of Destruction; he merely wished to become the strongest he had ever been in his life. He had thought multiple times that perhaps he had hit a limit, but he always realized that such walls were made to be broken and pass on to the next stage of one’s power.
Thus why Cornatto let out a faint giggle at the mention as to how Lagerus’ strength would have only made him more excited than ever. “Hehe! You are not wrong, yeah. I wouldn’t say it will take that long, nor should you consider that for yourself. After all, we are in the same boat-- Lagerus is strong, amazingly powerful! But I am sure Saiyans have the potential to reach that power.”
The Earthling Saiyan was then once more dumbfounded at the weird remark of the Saiyan girl regarding the tournament. What else was there to be said? It was a tournament, that was all! There was no way Cornatto or anyone else for the matter could even know what to expect from the other Universe’s fighters, so it wasn’t like Corn hadn’t tried to gather more information; there wasn’t anything else. The man followed the other and rubbed the back of his back in confusion.
“Uhh, that’s pretty much it honestly. Rules are the usual tournament stuff; no weapons or items and you lose if you fall off the stage-- Oh! Killing is allowed, though, apparently. We don’t know anything about the other Universe, other than the fact they’re supposed to have weird abilities,” - the man paused for a brief moment as he tapped his chin in wonder and his gaze lifted up to stare at the roof.
“We have more or less a month to prepare, so give it your all! But, I have a little plan anyway,” - the Turtle Hermit’s speech was interrupted by a faint giggle as the Saiyan smirked.
“There is a way we can get stronger in a very short time. No tricks, but pure training that will account for one year of work! I will save it for when we’re all gathered, though, so yeah. After you’re done with whatever else you gotta do here, travel to Earth and wait for me on Kami’s Lookout. You can’t miss it; it’s a long tower that stands at the highest altitude on the planet!”
The Earthling Saiyan did indeed have a plan in mind; for the whole team to use the Hyperbolic Time Chamber! It would have required some organization and all, but he was sure that he could arrange an extraordinary session for everyone to bathe in and power up more than they could ever do in a regular training session. But, before that, he needed to gather everyone so they could decide on the pairings; it was only two of them at once, no more. He already had in mind someone he could train with, in the chamber.
But, for the moment, his priority was to recruit the other warriors.
Tomina also decided to cut the conversation short, with a little message for Lagerus that left Cornatto in wonder as he couldn’t quite understand the meaning beneath it but he certainly wouldn’t have had a problem to tell Lagerus about that. “Hmm, got it! Though, don’t consider me a captain or something. In the end, we’re all fighting together-- whether we fight to test ourselves or save the universe. I am not too good at teamwork, though, because I prefer fighting my opponents one on one, but we’ll have to do in one way or the other!”
The fellow Saiyan turned around and left the man with a few parting words that made him smile a little. He had officially found the team’s first member! “Hehe, alright then. See you on Earth, Tomina!”
The Turtle Hermit also turned his back on her and walked away, back from where he had first arrived and for the Kai to take him back to the Otherworld.
