While Ryuteki wasn't fond of the idea of becoming the next Guru of planet Namek, over time it was becoming easier and easier to step into his fathers shoes. Thankfully, no one expected him to be just like his father at all, but instead treated him as his own man. He wasn't one for formalities, but his brothers displayed the utmost respect for his guidance. To some, Ryuteki was nothing but that little boy that abandoned his people years ago when his father died, to others he was their true Guru, believing that his time away from their people allowed him to connect on a more spiritual level with planet Namek... and in a way they weren't wrong.
His time alone on the mountain had taught him a lot about the world, about his people and gave him more than enough time to reflect on his fathers wisdom, which was genetically passed onto him.
'I wonder what he would think if he were here...' Ryuteki thought to himself with a light sigh as the Namekian lay on top of Guru's lookout, one leg crossed over the other and hands behind his head as he stared at the sky. It was particularly clear today, with nary a cloud in the sky... the sun's were beating down against his akin, warming him to his very core. It was a truly beautiful day, and a very quiet one. This brought a smile to the man's face as he let his eyes close for a minute.
'It's not as bad as I thought... being Guru... Ever since I've passed that test, ever since I recreated the Dragon I've felt... free? At least more so than I ever have before... There aren't many problems that arise and guiding my brothers is a fairly easy task. The only one's that are truly difficult are the Demon Clan, though they've been pretty quiet as of late... I wonder if I shouldn't send Trian to investigate that...' He continued to think to himself, able to sense his friends energy signature from within the lookout itself. Trian had raised him right alongside his father, training and schooling him from a very young age. Even now the older Namekian was spending his time cleaning or organizing the inside of the home while he... 'meditated' under the sun.
Katchin armor equipped."So, guru, huh?" "Yes, guru. He's the overseer of us and.." "Ohh. Okay...I get it. Cargo, you wouldn't mind would you?" "Not at all, Mister Rensu." The small exchange between Cargo, a rather small Namekian youth, and Rensu seemed out of field at first. Cargo, the new "student" of Rensu had come to find that his lead was seemingly down and in the dumps. It was odd. After all, Saiyans were supposed to be either excited, battle-thirsty or angry all the time! Not calm! Ah...Saiyans these days broke the stereotypes imposed on the tailed-race. Oh well. The result of Cargo and Rensu's interaction was that of the older youth being lead by the former to the lookout owned by the former Guru of Namek. Or, now current Guru. The hierarchy on this planet was interesting to Rensu. They didn't really have a king. But instead, a planet-scale elder who offered suggestions and great decision rather than an overwhelming rule. Maybe the Kingdom Saiyans could learn a thing or two from their Namekian space-neighbours.
The trip was short, thankfully. As the Namek and Saiyan flew, though Rensu had placed Cargo on his back so he could act as a GPS. To say it was relieving to see Ryuteki, whom Rensu hadn't recognized, was would not be enough. He trusted Cargo's word and all, but he was a kid. They got things mixed up a lot, didn't they? Rensu landed a few feet from Ryuteki, landing with a light 'tik!' sound. Dropping Cargo to the ground and carefully approaching the sunbathing green man. "Hey, uh, pardon," Rensu said. Saluting with two fingers and standing just a couple of feet from the slug-man, now. "Do you know where I could find uh...a Guru?"Ryuteki
Ryuteki kept his eyes closed, sensing the ki of his people around the world, sensing the energy of the saiyans which at the moment, felt like a stain on the planets surface. Their energy was still so negative compared to that of the Namekians, even though they strives to change that. They had a long way to go to be sure, and Ryuteki hoped that his brethren could help them achieve the peace they sought.
Even though he had been forced to come and claim his place as Guru, Ryu was rather surprised by how much he was enjoying it... it wasn't very different than when he lived in the mountains, he was mostly left alone until disputes between clans came up, or one of his brothers sought his advice. It was nice to be able to relax and just watch over them from the lookout.
He sensed everything, even the approach of one of his younger brothers and one of the saiyans. Their energy felt so different it was easy to tell. Much like the others, this saiyans energy felt conflicted, savage yet currently calm. Ryuteki slowly opened his eyes once he felt the presence land, pushing himself up to a seated position whenever the young saiyan addressed him. He found himself surprised to see such a young saiyan presenting himself to the lookout, but finally pushed himself to his feet as he floated down from the building, landing in front of Rensu with the faintest tap of his boots. The Namekian was wearing what looked like traditional Namekian clothing covered up by a white cotton robe. The robe ties together on both sides in a shoelace fashion and bore no symbol on it, only an orange belt wrapped around his waist.
" Well you have found him, welcome to my look out young one, what brings you here? " He asked kindly if not lazily of the young warrior.
"Huh?" The young Saiyan tilted his head curiously. He watched with the greatest of interest as Ryuteki rose and then dropped to greet him. Stating that, well, Rensu was successful in locating just what he was searching for. The boy's eyebrows raised with joy: he didn't need to go on some useless side quest. His person of interest was standing right before him. Great! Rensu grunted as he thought of what to say. "Mister Guru: My name's Rensu Horyu. I'm a Kingdom Saiyan- But I've been kinda...conflicted lately. I was wondering if you could help me! And- Cargo here said you were able to do some pretty mystical stuff. So you seemed like the perfect person to talk to." Rensu explained himself as fluidly as he could. Any misconceptions or misinterpretations could've made this harder than need be.
While Rensu spoke, his young friend had been standing beside him. Cargo's hands hanging lazily by his sides as he listened to the older one's talk to one another. Nothing coming from Cargo but silent nods and agreement as Rensu pointed out the tip relinquished unto him. He too hoped Guru could sate Rensu's self turmoil.
The ki signatures rested calmly upon the new lookout, a good sign as it meant the recent arrival of a Saiyan wasn't putting the current Guru in any danger. Piyano kept his distance however, his uncertainty over how his return to society would be handled by other Namekians. Once a long time ago Piyano had been the Guru of New Namek, a title he had thought he was ready for. Instead he had found himself under the machinations of a demon's plans. Tricked into fusing with a fellow Namekian that Piyano had thought had joined him willingly, as their memories finally fully merged Piyano had learned the truth. That Namek Clarin had been mind controlled into the fusion by an outside source, controlled by someone so powerful that even the man's soul had believed it wished to fuse.
Once the memories merged and Piyano had realized he had inadvertently taken one of his brothers lives he had cast the mantle of Guru aside. Piyano ran and fled than, leaving everything he had known to the wind all so he could try to make peace with himself. Piyano's attempts had been... unsuccessful at best. Clarin had long ago merged completely, nothing remained of him but his power, but the guilt still racked Piyano's waking hours. It was for this reason Piyano had decided he should confront the new leader of his people, Piyano hoped for spiritual guidance.
Piyano had not meant for his visit to coincide with others, but the man had flown a long way and did not intend to turn back now. So even as the Guru began to speak with the Saiyan visitor Piyano slowly hovered over to the lookout and landed off to the side of the two Namekian's and the Saiyan warrior. Hesitation was clearly scrawled along Piyano's face, but he quietly waited for the Guru to address him. Piyano had all respect for the new leader of his people and would happily wait until the man was willing to speak with him.
Ryuteki gave the small saiyan a light nod, offering up a smile to the young Namekian next to him as he motioned with his hand towards the building that sat atop the lookout. If this young saiyan sought guidance he would try to give it, at least as best he could being quite new to this position of Guru.
"I could sense your conflicted heart from quite a distance away. It reflects in your ki energy. Come inside and tell me what afflicts your heart so~" He instructed of the boy, guiding him towards the lookout. He would pause when he reached the door however, looking up to the skies above where another Namekian was floating silently above them. For a moment Ryuteki stared at him blankly, but once more a smile spread over his lips as he motioned with his head for his brother to follow.
<Welcome back brother> His words were silent, spoken directly from his mind to that of Piyano's, waiting by the door for Rensu and Cargo to step inside.
<You feel even more conflicted than the saiyan boy, did you wish to speak with me? Come inside and we will speak about what ails your mind.> He added, stepping into the home behind the two whenever they would finally walk inside. The home was pretty plainly decorated, white rounded walls with nothing hung on them, the ground was mostly bare except for the few, large pillow like seats scattered about the room, all dyed in various colors. There were strange looking forks of art resting on a few stone pedestals, reminder of Ryuteki's time away in the mountains.
"Now, remember young Rensu, I am the spiritual leader of the Namekian's yes, but I'm afraid the affairs of the saiyans haven't been made fully clear to me. I will do what I can to guide you, but take my words with a grain of salt~" He would say kindly, motioning to one of the chairs as he himself perched himself atop a blue chair, completely ignoring the large throne like chair his father had once sat in.
"Sir," Rensu nodded. Nodding towards Cargo, motioning for the smaller Namekian to join him inside. They'd speak to Ryuteki a last and find some kind of guidance. Rensu was sure that he'd find te answers he so desired here. He was sure of it.
The young Saiyan took a seat as Ryuteki had hinted, sitting with his legs slightly apart and his arms draped over his lap, his back arched as he leaned forward. It was comfortable for him. "Understood." He stated. "Well...it's hard. Us Saiyans; We're divided, right now. And I' kind of acught in bbetween. I wanna help my kingdom, but they'e so...needlessly violent and kill for the sake of battle. I mean, I'd be a hypocrite if I said I didn't enjoy combat and all- But...I dunno. I've kinda found myself wanting to protect more than conquer. Do ya have any advice for me? Maybe some kinda spirit thing? I'm kind of at a lost, Mister Guru."Sorry for the shortness. x.x RyutekiPiyano
Still floating slightly above the trio, Piyano watched as the new Guru lead his Saiyan and Namekian visitor towards his home. It surprised Piyano to see the young Saiyan nod for his Namek aid to walk first; Piyano's interactions with the prideful race had given him rare cause to anticipate such politeness. Admittedly Piyano was long removed from interaction with any people of any race, he was pleased to see his expectations could be proven wrong however, even in such a small manner.
When the Guru's attention turned to him Piyano's breath held still a moment, whether Ryuteki knew it or not his position as Guru meant a great deal and his opinion of Piyano's return to society would either greatly strengthen or greatly weaken the warrior's resolve. Ryuteki smiled however and nodded towards his home even as Piyano floated to the earth, soft grass crunching under foot. A voice entered into Piyano's thoughts than, the soft tone was no psychic assault but a mere greeting by his Namekian brother. <Thank you Elder> Piyano replied with his own telepathic message. The gifts of being a Guru had been lost to Piyano but he still possessed his own abilities and a psychic greeting was a simple thing.
<I have no wish to interrupt your company Elder. Please attend to their needs first.> Piyano added as he followed the group into the Guru's home. Piyano strongly suspected he was the new Guru's senior in lifespan, but in this instance 'Elder' was a honorific address used for Ryuteki's position. The home was a spartan and modest place, save for several bits of art and many plush pillows. Piyano waited for all to be seated before he himself nestled cross legged into a stuffed pink pillow of incredible softness. The Guru spoke to the young Saiyan, a lad named Rensu, his words perfect for a man of guidence.
Rensu's tale of concern and inner conflict was a short one, but he spoke true to his feelings and his heart. It seemed Rensu wished to protect others, he possessed a warrior's heart and love for battle yes; but the lad hated conflict strictly for the sake of battle. Piyano could only nod in understanding at the young Saiyan's words, Piyano himself had only ever battled for the sake of others well being. Although he had felt a call for vengeance in his soul ever since Clarin's possession and sacrifice had been made clear to him.
As much as Piyano could agree with and understand Rensu's plight, as much as he wished to tell the young man that the role of a protector was a truly honorable path; Piyano held his words to himself. Ryuteki was the Guru of Namek now, and Piyano would not rob the Guru of his chance to speak, nor would he rob young Rensu of the sage advice he sought from the Elder Namekian.
<He seems like a pure hearted one for a Saiyan. I pray you guide him to a worthy path.> Piyano silently projected to Ryuteki.
Ryuteki would give Piyano a careful nod as they all made their way into the home and settled into their respective seats. Ryuteki sat a bit more modestly than the young Rensu, crossing his legs in front of him and instead resting his arms on his thighs as he folded his hands and listened to what the young boy had to say. To him the answer seemed simple, but it might not be the simple answer the boy was looking for? To Ryu it sounded like Rensu was simply looking for confirmation of his stay here with the Saiyan Alliance, yet he still wanted to help the Kingdom in some way.
Ryuteki would close his eyes for a moment, hearing Piyano's words clearly in his mind. He honestly hoped that he could do as Piyano said and guide him to the proper path, though this would be his first time attempting to guide an outsider.
"There is no 'spirit thing' that will guide you through this path young Rensu. The answer to your question is already inside of you, and I feel you already know the answer to your question. You are a warrior who does not seek to kill, only to chase the thrill of battle as so many before you have. The Empire you wish to protect is built to conquer others, while the Alliance who have sheltered you show you kindness and a path that leads away from violence. I cannot tell you to chose one or the other. No matter how dark one's actions may be, there will always be a glimmer of light left behind.
I fear that the path ahead of you may be a difficult one no matter which you chose. You wish to help your people, then help guide them towards a path they can be proud of. Helping the saiyans of the Alliance become warriors once more instead of conquerors is noble, however you may be forced to do things you do not agree with. If you chose the path that takes you to the Alliance, then you can fight and grow into a warrior you can be proud of. Both of these options have their pro's and con's. In the end however, you must listen to what is in your heart. Become a person you can be proud of, regardless of what others think of you. When the day finally comes that your life is taken, die knowing that you have no regrets with your life, that you lived your life the way you wanted it to be led." He spoke gently, finally opening his eyes once more as he looked towards Rensu. While his words didn't give Rensu a clear answer as to which he should chose, he hoped that he could put things a bit more into perspective for him. He really wanted to emphasize the fact that there was good in both factions, that Rensu could achieve his goals with either one of them in the end. Choosing to go to the Empire would be a harder path for him, he would have to fight for the changes he believed in and there was no guarantee those changes would come. The Alliance seemed to already have everything Rensu was looking for but again, it wasn't his choice to make.
Rensu was most certainly disappointed to find that there was no spirit magic to fix this in a quick cinch. Oh well. It must've been too good to be true then. The lad would give a soft huff as Guru imparted that much onto him. He watched carefully and curiously as he began to speak. Talking of where Rensu's forked road could and would lead him. To stay with his current force, he'd need the grit and patience of a seasoned veteran. To change it, he'd need complete some things from inside and do things he didn't agree with. But, had he selected to opt for the Alliance, he'd be able to become the man he was supposedly meant to be. He sunk in his seat a tad. Sighing again and weighing his options. Closing his own eyes and deciphering all of which Ryuteki had said. It made sense and while a clear answer was not present, an underlying one stood out to the boy.
"Alright. I think I get it." He stated.
Opening his eyes, Rensu rose from his seat and clutched his fist. "I'll follow my heart and the wind. Er- I mean, I'll stay here and make this my home. I'll be...like a freelancer or somethin'. Til I'm all grown and able to really make a difference. Eh?"
Piyano listened intently, not only to Ryuteki's guidance but also Rensu's reactions and reply. The Guru's words sounded clear and true towards the young Saiyan's plight. There was no magic, no spiritual healing process that could choose a future for the young man. Not without coercing his free will at least. The Saiyan would simply have to weigh the choice of his decisions and the impact they would have upon others. The young man could travel a easier path along side the kinder hearted Alliance, but behave in a manner true to his soul. Or Rensu could stay a part of the Saiyan Empire, where he may be capable of forcing about change; but such effort would require years of hard work and committing acts that would forever stain the young man's hands with filth and blood.
Eventually Rensu stood and announced his choice to stay upon Namek, at least until he was a little older and could truly effect a change. Piyano could not fault the lad for taking the easier path, not when the young Saiyan was siding with a faction less driving towards a violent goal. Plus on a separate level it showed maturity in Rensu that he was willing to wait and grow in strength before he attempted a journey that may well take his very life. Piyano found himself nodding in begrudging respect for the Saiyan, perhaps if Piyano himself had been so mature he would not be in his own present situation.
"It is a respectable path to take. I wish you well young warrior, may you never feel weak or in the wrong for choosing to protect." Piyano said as silence hung in the air. His first spoken words since his arrival, his voice hard and gravely as only one with a weight upon their shoulders could sound. The Namekian knew it was not his place to influence Rensu's choice in anyway, and he hoped the Guru would take no issue with his words. It was simply to hard to remain quite when a honest fighter was in need.
Having said his piece Piyano returned to waiting quietly, unsure if he should speak openly about his own concerns and issues in front of Rensu. Piyano's inner conflict directly involved the Namekian peoples heritage, and his failings in upholding them. It left the warrior uneasy, yet if the Guru urged him on towards speaking openly than Piyano would, as he was nothing else if not still loyal to his people.
Ryuteki could only smile at the younger saiyan, unable to believe just how mature this kid was. Whenever Ryu was young and faced with a difficult decision like this one he had just run away from his problems and chosen to live in solitude instead of facing his future. Unlike Rensu, Ryuteki had been a huge coward... It was amazing to see how wise he was, choosing to stay with the Alliance until he was a little bit older to make a more informed decision.
"You're a wise child Rensu, many of us could learn from your example. I would be honored to have you remain here on Namek, here, before you part let me give you a gift to help you in your journey." The Guru would then push himself back up to his feet once Rensu was already on his own. The taller Namekian would walk up to the boy and gently place his hand on top of his head. Rensu would feel a strange sensation coursing through him as Ryuteki sent his own ki into his body, searching for the potential hidden inside the young boy. A mild look of surprise crossed his face for only a split moment as Ryuteki found it... it hadn't been very difficult, it was like an overflowing pool of potential just waiting to be unleashed. He knew that young ones usually had a larger potential but this boy... this boy would do some pretty great things if he was set on the right path.
With that, Rensu's ki would flare up around him as Ryuteki dipped into that pool, withdrawing as much of his potential as he could without moving his hand from his head. It wasn't until his power would spike up that Ryuteki would finally take a step away.
"You've got great power inside of you, young Rensu, use it wisely" He said almost proudly as he would then look over towards Piyano who was also giving the boy his own blessing. He would not towards his brother before motioning for him to come over and take his turn to sit. He would wait for Rensu to speak and react to what had just happened before then addressing Piyano.
"I'm glad that you've found your way back to us brother. I owe you a lot, if there is anything I can do for you, please just ask." He would say, not yet going back to sit in his own chair as he still felt awkward being "The Guru" and taking up such an important task...
"Right," Rensu nodded. "Thank you, mister Guru. I guess I try, but I'm kinda just speaking from my heart, huh?" The tween placed his fists against his own waist, looking over to Piyano and shooting a smile of sorts. "Thank you, too, mister. I appreciate your support too, I'll work hard to protect you and your family as well." Rensu nodded, speaking with pure sincerity. His attention returning to Ryuteki. He had only just noticed the Namekian man had risen from his seat and now stood before him. He felt a hand come gently place itself upon his head and a sudden rush fill his very being. Rensu's eyes strained for a moment and his Ki flowed smoothly. It felt like Ryuteki's search for Ren's ki was that of a short one as the boy felt himself invigorated and a newfound strength was realized. Not one he could neccessarily transform into, but rather one that was lyingf dormant in him for some time and needed it's rightful awakening. The lad took a step back and huffed. Impressed and in a form of awe, he smiled now. "Thank you, again, Mister Guru! I'll use this for good, I promise. You won't regret waking me up-" Rensu promised and turned foot. Nodding to Cargo, whom had been sitting and observing his brothers, that it was time to go. "I'll see you guys, again!" Rensu bade them farewell before leaving the duo of Namekians to converse.Thread exit. Taking PL, please and weights are equipped. Thanks!
Watching calmly as the new Guru said his peace and welcomed the young warrior Rensu to stay upon planet Namek. Than Ryuteki did something Piyano was not prepared for, the Guru placed his hands upon Rensu and unleashed the lads potential. Rensu's power flared with new life as his inner limits sprang to the forefront of his perception. Having experienced what such a feeling was like himself Piyano understood the flush of realization and emotion that crossed Rensu's features. The older Namekian was simply surprised to see Ryuteki use his abilities upon a non-Namekian. Thinking back Piyano had been stingy with the gift, having never unlocked the abilities of anyone in his time as Guru. Things had been different back than however, few Namekian's had sought power that where of a goodly weal, and even fewer other species could be trusted.
Perhaps things were different now, or perhaps Ryuteki held greater perception than Piyano had... or perhaps the new Guru was still brash. A dark cloud crossed Piyano's face as he forced the harsh thought away, a more dreadful demeanor was a conciseness of his current condition. It was part of the reason Piyano had traveled to see the newest Guru. Rensu gave his thanks before departing with a smile, taking his young Namekian friend along with him. Piyano waved to the pair as they left, offering his young brother Namekian a warm smile as he passed out the door. Left alone with the Guru Piyano shifted in his seat to fully face his peoples spiritual leader. "I thank you for your hospitality brother. I must ask however, why thank me? Fleeing in cowardice seems unlikely to have offered you aid." Piyano replied as Ryuteki took a seat. It did not escape Piyano's notice that his elder avoided the throne. Clearing his throat Piyano readied himself to give voice to his own inner fears. For the first time in years he was ready to speak his thoughts aloud in front of another of his race. "I abandoned our people, all because a demon I can not even name beguiled me into absorbing the life of one of our brothers. Guru... I feel empty. I seek a means of absolution, yet I possess no means to make things right." Piyano said, bother great conviction and powerful grief laying thick among his words.
The one time Namek hung his head as he let his heart's great failings sink in for the new Guru to absorb and process. Piyano had come this day because he believed himself finally ready to seek penitence, to be somehow punished. None but the Guru could truly judge such crimes as those Piyano had committed, even if he had been tricked into his evils. Unlike the young warrior Rensu however Piyano had not come for a exchange of words. Perhaps the Guru would offer him forgiveness, but such would not be enough. Piyano sought trial in one form or another, as a means to cleanse his soul. "Please brother I require your guidance to direct me. I seek to truly become a Namekian again."
'Mr Guru... makes me sound so old.' Ryuteki would think to himself in amusement, for having such an important position the Namekian was still fairly young. He was only 18 years old truth be told and still had plenty to experience himself before he could tackle some of the bigger issues he would be dealing with... however growing up under the previous Guru, his father, and Trian it was no wonder where his knowledge and 'wisdom' came from. He really was doing his best with what he had.
Rensu seemed happy enough with his gift, promising that he would come by again before taking off with their younger brother. The small Namekian had stayed strangely quiet, and Ryuteki couldn't help but wonder if he had just been shy around him or if there was something deeper? He didn't seem unhappy, and Ryuteki couldn't sense any wrong doings... so he supposed that must have been the case.
Finally, if was just himself and Piyano in the lookout, and Piyano was the first to speak, thanking him for his hospitality and even going on to question why Ryuteki had thanked him. Ryuteki looked at him in mild surprise, having expected Piyano to at least have understood why he had been thankful... He'd recognized Piyano almost immediately and wondered how he didn't realize why he was thankful.
"You took up the mantle of Guru when I ran away from it. By all rights I should have stepped up upon my father's passing but instead I chose to flee and abandon my people in favor of living alone in the mountains. I'm thankful to you for looking after Namek where I failed it. It seems we've both stepped on the wrong path at one point..." He started, though paused when Piyano admitted to having absorbed another of their people, his actions guided by a devil's tongue. He let out a brief sigh, shaking his head gently looking as if he might disapprove of Piyano for his actions.
"Demons, they're an unpredictable species. They work in the dark to manipulate anyone they can to do their bidding, to further their own selfish gains. While I understand that in the end, you willingly absorbed a brother, your mind was not clear. Your judgement was clouded by the lies of Demons. If our brother could speak to you now, upon hearing the truth I know he would forgive you. Have you tried to commune with his spirit at all? Traces of those we absorb always remain inside of us even though their physical bodies are gone.
It's not forgiveness you need, brother, it's to set your soul at peace. You were led astray but I hope that now that you are back we can lead you back on the right path. Take time to commune with our lost brother, search your thoughts and spirit for his own. I believe only once you find him will you be able to forgive yourself." Where the heck had that come from? Ryuteki had never encountered a situation like this before so how did he feel he could even pretend to know what to say to a situation like this? Had he maybe overheard his father speaking of a similar situation? No... at least not that he could remember. Maybe he was getting more of a handle on this Guru business than he thought? Maybe he was meant to take up this mantle after-all.
