Beat + Baka = ... (Lucky Red)

"...It doesn't sounds like a joke coming from you," Beat commented, poking her cheek gently. "Well, if it's a joke though then all's good... hmmm, so you don't like how the Saiyan grills their meat?" Now that he think of it, a lot of it are still slightly raw. He prefer it medium himself, although well done is not bad. The thing with Well Done is how little juice is inside, and it kind of annoyed him. He took a note of this. Its seem that it could be a good reference for both customer service need and in case he's going to cook for her in the future. "Do you prefer it medium or well done then?" he asked. "I'm raised on Earth so Saiyan's usual meat tends to be a bit raw for me. It was kind of hellish when I first started my stall and they said I overcook the meat when I'm just grilling it medium..."

Hmmm, though sweet shops? She looked as if he's not going to grant her wish. However, the gentleman side of him understood that at this moment, a boy must gave up and let the girl happy. However, trying to hide his dislike on sweet foods probably won't go well, so... He decided to be frank, but still subtle enough. "Hmmm, sweet huh? Well, it's no problem. Just don't expect me to eat that much of a sweet... Still, I got several favorites despite not really a sweet tooth... mainly chocolate and vanilla ice cream, cheesecake with strawberry, red velvet cake, and oreo milkshake I guess. Those four are my favorite."

He does can bake cookies though despite not being a sweet tooth. He'll probably take notes of what she likes and try to recreate it just in case she want something sweet. At the same time... Wait, aren't I being a bit too serious in this? Why am I suddenly decided to go full on caring about this girl? I just touched her tail, I don't really love her... or is it just because I felt like I want to see her smile? Argh, my head is in a mess. I guess... she would looks cute when she smiles.

"Speaking of which, it's amazing that you know details like that... Or are you interested in their sweets and somehow you never got a reason to come there?" he teased. "It's alright to slack a bit in your break you know, Ms. Patrolwoman. Treat yourself, you know~"

...At the same time, why did he somehow imagine that there will be some sort of "couple only" discount promotion going on? Is he going to jinx it?

"Huh, no wonder... well I usually grill it about five minutes at least at any rate... So I'm pretty sure you'll find my steak more palatable than those Saiyan meats anyway," Beat would say. "Sure I can't cook like your mom, but at least I'm pretty sure it's more to your taste than meats around here---Wait, what's with the face? I'm just saying the truth. Sweets isn't really for me, probably because it's too luxurious before all of this."

Honestly, Beat's cheapest treat was chocolate and vanilla ice cream. Probably that was why he really love those two tastes so much. If someone ask whether he could afford a cake or a parfait, his answer would have been straight "no", at least back then. Now that he could afford a mansion for himself he still haven't developed any sort of taste for luxury. He just want a homey home and all the convenience it could bring. He would even import the seed back from earth if it meant he could stop staring at blue grass instead of green one back from earth. In the end, he guessed that it all came back to taste. Still, seeing how she's so confident of her pick made him wonder just delicious it is... Well, he'll taste it alright!

...Though, the cafe is barren. As someone who understood just how bad a business is if the cafe gone barren like this made Beat want to help somehow... "...Hmmm, there should be dishes that at least Saiyans would also appreciate..." he muttered. But then again, saiyans love saltier, full of protein dishes. They're not quite the one who likes sweet things like these. If anything, he guessed it would only make them felt rather sickened from the awfully sweet taste (For their taste buds). He himself included in this... Hmmm, what about cheese? He wonder if Saiyan likes cheese. Or maybe banana? Wait, would that be racist? His mind kept spinning for business idea. If anything, he would like to make these aliens felt welcomed in this place.

The lad let himself led by the girl, although it amuses him when her tail wiggled to find a comfortable position. As for him, he'll just slip it through the chair hole. Viola, looks like it's a perfect snug for him.

Already, the girl told him to try this mousse cake. Hmmm, he guess he should try that, huh? "Well, let's order that then. I'll go with your recommendation since I'm a novice on this."

The way she stick out her tongue looks adorable somehow. "Heh, so not gonna slack off even in your day off? Admirable. Looks like we're in right hand with you here then~" he would praise. Yeah, it was a sincere one though. He was already amazed at how she know where the shops are. It's like walking with a one (wo)man monitor system, which honestly amazing in its own.

"What about you? Wanna share?" he asked.

Heee, so she had that sort of goal in her. That's fine with him. "I'm sure you can do it if you keep up your hard work. It's great that you have a goal you want to get." This time, it's spoken sincerely, yet seriously instead the usual gentle one. He don't want her to think he's only praising her. At the same time... goal... Does he really have one? So far in his life he's told how much he's a failure when those bullies kicked him, punched him, and overall just had fun with how weak he was. Now that he's this strong, he understand that no normal kids can match up to him. It's also done in span of several months too. For him to get this strong... Yet at the same time, if you grow so quick and so strong in such ridiculous amount of timespan, you're going to somehow felt so lost... He envied the girl in front of him. How she had goal, how she had something to strive for. Him? He's just trying to get super saiyan... then what? Get even stronger? Sure that's a thing, but... that felt more like his blood calling than an actual goal that his rational mind trying to get. He's a saiyan, but he don't want to just be "simply strong" without any goal of it. He just sighed in amusement at the talk between the girl and the waiter. The way she looked when she eat the dessert is really adorable too.

The dessert in front of him is appetizing, but at the same time, he's not in mood to eat it. Not yet at least. He wanted to... have something of a release. He wanted an opinion.

"...Hey, this sounded like a bit out of nowhere... But... would you mind listening to me?" he asked. He noticed by now that bulking effect of his technique has worn out and he's at impressive ninety one thousand mark without this weighing clothes... but for him, that's obviously still not enough. His muscle mass isn't decreasing either, which means this is now his physique. He felt strong, yeah, he felt confident, yeah... but his heart meanwhile isn't where it should be at the moment.

"Would you believe in me if I said I was bullied? I was told that I was useless, completely weak and a deadbeat. For six years of my life I always exposed to that sort of treatment because I'm from a tribe far away in the forest. People saw us as barbarians, well... most people anyway. There are kids that could use ki in school. They targeted me because for them I looked different. The teacher can't do anything to them because they're from rich family, or influental really. I endured, endured, and endured... My heart hated every single moment of it... and now that I'm strong I felt like I could take on the world. But even then, what left? I suddenly felt lost, I... don't have any other passion than to be stronger. What the use of my strength if I can't use it for what I have passion for? Helping people is nice and all, but at the same time, I felt like... goal wise, I don't have any. That sort of driving force no longer there... I used to want to be a famous martial artist or something, to help my parents, you know... It would be fun I thought... but now that I'm already this strong, it all felt so hollow. That dream suddenly in front of me, but... my father no longer in this world, my mother probably is my only living relative. Earth also gonna explode probably. My goal now is to save people that I care about and bring them here. Sure I'll be member of remnant alliance, but... is that already enough? I love battling, yeah, but... I want more goal than just helping around. I want to fight for what I believe in. I want passion to drive my fist and my growth, you know what I mean? I want to be proud of my own achievement. To say to myself 'yeah, you did it, now aim for higher height of your dream'."

Beat noticed that he might rambled too much. "...Sorry about that, ah, the dessert does tastes nice by the way."

He can say that he envies her though... He really do. To have more goal than simply a blood calling. Perhaps it's his earthling nature, but he refused to just grow stronger for the sake of getting stronger.

"Well, it's not because I'm a saiyan... You see, I don't have tail before I crashlanded in Namek. My tail was removed to hid my Saiyan heritage. Apparently it can grow back, amazing huh? Well, at any rate, I guess people back in earth are kinda cruel too..." Her optimism however made him smile wryly at how positive she is. She'd normally be annoying, but for some reason it just made him want this small flower to bloom even more beautifully. Something with her just made him calmer. Probably because she's taking the more hyper role here while he takes the more calmer side. The question about his father however made Beat's expression slightly clouded. "...Yeah, my dad... he... got killed. You see, I had no idea what happened to the East City. All I know is there was a tremor and suddenly... boom. It just... you know." he's not making sense at the moment. But that's probably because it's still a rather traumatic experience for him. "...I was on the west when that happened. It's just so sudden and I only knew what exactly happened on a morning show. It was... well, I dunno how to describe it seriously... ah, uh... when huh... most likely about four to five months ago? I don't exactly remember..."

To be called similar to his boss was strange though. Beat cannot help but to smile about it somehow. "...I guess if we're really similar, that makes sense why he would take me under his wings. Haa... I honestly really envied you, you know... Seriously, you're an amazing girl."

...At any rate, he suddenly noticed the cream on her lips. He slowly leaned in and wiped it gently with the back of his index finger. Instinctively, he had no idea why, but he licked the leftover cream on his finger. "...Ah, yeah, this is sweet." ...Does he even know what he's doing could be treated as indirect kiss? He does't seem to mind though. He saw the second spoon and scooped the parfait, but not to his mouth. Instead he decided that it's better to just feed this cute girl in front of him. "...Why don't you say aah~?"

...Only then he suddenly noticed what he's doing. Beat's face turned really red now, redder than even Lucky's hair. His gentle smile crunched into more awkward one. His ears felt hot, and his tail swishing uncomfortably at such daring thoughts of feeidng the girl in front of him. She's really cute, really really really cute... But at the same time, he... He's being way too daring. He never done this before, and it's kind of... Way too embarrassing. The spoon still is in front of her, seem to be waiting for her to open her mouth and eat it.

Goddammit Beat... Fine, just... roll with it! Keep your calm! You can lick the cream you wiped from her mouth but you can't even feed her right!? Get your priority straight, boy!

...The comment that Lucky said about how his tail suddenly sprouted, bloomed, whatever made Beat expression suddenly turned blank in split second... before he began to imagine about a potted soil. Like as if something was there, he gave it water, fertilizer and enough sunlight. Whatever inside would then germinate until it suddenly out of nowhere sprouts furry, golden tail---

"BFFFT!!! AHAHA, HAHAHAHHAHA, WHAT THE HELL WITH THAT IMAGE~~!! MY STOMACH HAHAHHAAHA!! KEHEHEH, OH GOD! How could you even... Aaahhh... ahehehehe... ouch my stomach ahehehehehe...!"

He can't help it. Beat nearly fell backward from the image. It was too damn funny! The red haired halfling laughed so hard from the mental image. "Oh god, girl... you're so riot..." This one girl definitely starting to climb his affection point quite high... He nearly forgot that before they're talking about his father when she... just like that dropped something that he didn't thought he'll hear about. His father... alive? What... the hell?

"...Ha? Sorry, what?"

Trying to grasp what this girl would say about his father was a bit too sudden for his own good. He... he have no idea what is this thing called Dragon Ball, but... He stood up, so suddenly that his chair clattered. "...Lucky... what... what did you said?" should the girl repeated it again, the red haired boy would hug her so close, closer than he intended. Relief washed over him as his knee suddenly become weak at the revelation. He can't help but to show a shameful sight of him crying. But he doesn't care about that. His father is alive... and he's here in Namek. He was too overwhelmed to even speak coherently, only continuing to sob from relief of his father still alive in here. He stayed like that for a bit while until he finally calmed himself down.

"S-sorry..."

...Stress, that was one of the biggest problem with the kid. He tried to make himself grow faster. He tried to be stronger than how he should behaved based on real kid of his age. His saiyan side was kicked to the front, sheltering his earthling side. Pride, responsibility, and most of all sheer stubbornness because he wishes to be strong enough to to move forward was what keeping himself from showing most of his weaker side. However, when the stress was gone, it broke. The feeling he dammed suddenly gushes out. The red haired boy only could smile bitterly at the pathetic side he was showing.

"...Gosh... that was so uncool... heh... to cry on your date like that..."

...but at the same time, he just... very grateful of this news she bring. She might not be the one who the most responsible for that happiness, but he made a promise to treasure this girl as much as his life allowed it.

"...Oh... uh... sorry, that was uncool?" he would ask about the feeding and the wiping the cream. "I was just... acting on instinct on that one, sorry. Totally did not meant to make it awkward..."

...It doesn't escaped from him that this might be really embarrassing for the girl instead though instead of it being too lame. It's more like she's trying to hide her embarrassment instead... He noted that she might not like it, so he decided to not do it again unless they're closer. "...My father can wait," he decided. "...I... wanted to get stronger than now before I face him. I want to reach that stage... The Super Saiyan. Only then I'll be able to face him again. Plus, gotta get strong enough so Koma-san won't say it's a mistake that he cut my tail back when I was little. I still think he did the right thing as an Earthling father. As a Saiyan father though, he might did something really wrong.. but I won't blame him for that. Everyone... had their moment."

He let the silence sinks in for a while before chuckling. "...Well, all that stuff aside, as a thanks for the great news, I'll do whatever you want me to do for a week~ I'll even goes to school if you insist on it."

Yeah, it's such a joyous moment. He'll just let her lead. It might be way too hasty to say "I love you" to this girl in front of him, but as far as this date goes, he... was very happy that he met this girl. He hope to build better relationship with her and one day be competent enough to be a man of her liking.
