Beat was unable to sleep. Even when the jet lag was affecting him, he's still very tense. He had no idea why, but... at the very least, he already told the rest to cover up their ki to natural level, in case there are some people who wondered if there are invasion going. Luckily, they're able to enter the atmosphere without much chaos and gone directly toward the east, where his tribe's old settlement is located. Van Eltia's engine hummed as it now entered hovering mode. In hovering mode, the ship stays in one spot, without consuming any energy. It doesn't have to land either. The moment the engine stopped whirring and the ship completely anchored, Beat activated the intercom. "...Good morning people, looks like we've landed safely. I can't really put this ship to stealth mode or anything like that, so I'll just go ahead and be quick looking for my family, alright? You do whatever you want, but please come back quickly. Just in case, Suu should be able to contact us as long as we're in same region, is this right? Anyway... I really hope the authority won't question us. I can't really hide my tail either at the moment."
Beat stepped out from his room. His ki senses immediately picked up some familiar ki outside the ship. The moment he came out... He was greeted with the sight of the kids he helped back with Alluca admiring the ship.
"Ah, it's Aniki!" "It's Aniki!"
"Huh, you guys! What are you... huh, wait I'm the one who told you to come here..."
"Welcome back! Allu-nee said that you'll return soon! Wow, I never thought that you'll get this strong... You're just on ten thousands when you're out of here..."
"Shush... at least you guys are healthy. What about Allu?"
"...She said she's not coming."
"Huh!?" His surprise came as natural. The girl should have not been that stupid to know what's going on with Earth lately even if she was a bit sheltered. That's why her refusal came as strange to him.
"Yeah, she said she's not coming. She's coming with someone else, a friend. She said that she want us to take care."
"...What on earth is that girl thinking?"
"We don't know, but..."
"...Beat? Is... is that really you?"
"---Mom?" Beat's attention focused on the red haired woman that just came out from the forest. Forte, Beat's mother. She's dressed in her usual tribe looking clothes, but it was torn, perhaps from abandon in looking for her son for so long. From the scars on her legs, he can't even imagine just how long did she traveled. Her red eyes moistened upon seeing her son surviving.
Without even caring that he looked more like a child than a warrior he tried to be for all these long month, Beat hugged his mother. The two family finally reunited, tears of happiness from the reunion flowing from their eyes. His worries washed out. He for so long had been stressed out from the thought of what happened if he was late too save his mother in case he gone to Bris, but now that she's here, there was no words needed to show just how glad he was. The last survivor of his family now is safe. The boy let himself to be seen as weak at this time only, because these tears aren't tears of frustration, but tears of happiness from all the relief that currently washed over him. Fate was not as cruel as he thought after all.
"...You've grown strong..."
He tried to speak, only to choke up.
"It must be hard... There's so many things that you want to tell me, right?"
"I-I'm fine... because... you're here! I... I'll bring you out of here, so we can... be safe again and... we can resume our life."
Yes, that would be such a great dream. Now they only need to wait for Suusao and Rensu's business to be done. Afterward, they can leave this planet for good. ...Would he get teased to get this teary and snotty face though? Ah well, he'll beat them up if they dared to tease him.

It wasn't every day that a person found themselves in Yami's situation. Almost immediately after finding his freedom there had been some kind of invasion, and he instead found himself in a refugee camp with a bunch of others. Once more without any real freedom, it chafed on him until he couldn't take it anymore.
Which is why, when he overheard some kids talking about a ship and someone coming to get them, he definitely listened. Not to the specifics of who it was or anything like that, but rather the time and place so that he could tag along, uninvited as he was.
Cut to the present, and he had followed them from a distance to the spot fairly successfully. The group was made mostly out of kids, but with one older woman who he didn't really recognise. He didn't have to wait long after they got there before the ship arrived, and it was bigger than he had imagined. It sliced through the air, dropping heavily only to be held up a short distance before actually hitting the ground. Upon seeing the size he pulled a tighter control on his on power so that he wouldn't seem like a threat to whoever was flying the thing, making it so he would seem like a normal human, a weak one even. That is, if they didn't spot the tail...
A kid stepped out, which surprised Yami, but he knew not to judge things by appearances. He couldn't sense any major power from him, but of course it could just be suppressed like his own. It was also tough to determine his exact age, but the tail he could barely see from the distance told of his Saiyan heritage, whether full or a halfer like Yami himself.
The strange boy then embraced the woman after speaking with the children for some time, and seeing as it was probably some kind of emotionally vulnerable time Yami took his chance. He quickly walked towards the group, making sure not to look like he was attacking or anything, holding his arms up with palms facing forwards. As soon as he was sure he was within earshot he called out.
"Yo! Not a bad ride! I don't suppose you've got an extra seat, this place has kind of gone to hell. Kind of literally actually."
If Beat didn't go for it he would just keep pushing until things got bad, there was no way he was missing this ticket out. He didn't even care where he ended up really, as long as it was even a little better.

A guy came out of nowhere... This one, he had no idea who. He looked at the rest of the kids for clue, but they just shake their head. Hmmm, this is interesting. He looked at his mother who also shook her head. "Though... if you have a space for another, can I ask if you have a space of another one?" his mother asked. pointing at a... clothed bear. At first he thought that it was a literal bear, but the eyes kinda showed sapience, hence he noticed that it's not actually a real bear, but an earthling with bear features, an ursine type Earthling.
"Kumagoro-san helped me for these four months separated from you," his mother explained.
Well, the bear got credible words from his mother. From the sincere words of his mother, he understood that it must be true... but as for the guy... He does seems like he knew anyone here. So it might be someone who likely came to see what's up with the ship. That's not wrong and all. Van Eltia is a massive ship that could host sixty people comfortably. It's hard to not have a room for any considering that to begin with it's designed to host many people and there's only three on board so far. However, problem came that he's not exactly part of his agreement with Komatsu.
"...Hmmm..." Beat looked pensive for a while. "...First, why don't you all just come inside first? I'm going to have a bit of a talk with this guy," Beat told the kids and his mother. "Oh, and the bear guy too. Thanks for helping my mother."
"Nah, thanks for the ride, kid."
Now that the ten people has boarded in, in total there's still about fourty seven rooms. However, he can't really let people onboard without knowing their background fully. At time like this he regretted that he didn't ask Zeno for scouter. Scouters could at least accurately shows someone's PL without the need of ki sensing.
"...Hmmm... Well, I guess I could let you in... You, you're a saiyan, aren't you? Which faction you belong in? I'll let you in as long as you show me your true strength. Nonsuppressed."
If he's a Saiyan Galactic Kingdom guy, then... most likely he'll have trouble. Then again, there are Saiyan from the kingdom in Namek too. The headache that Komatsu felt would probably irrelevant whether this guy is from the kingdom or not. He might be too on guard, but he really don't want any suspicious character suddenly appearing out of nowhere and sabotaged his ship. Yeah, sure he got a ride, but he need to be seriously convinced that the guy is harmless, or at least, in level that he can handle before he could let him in.
Post by Yami Hiraga on Mar 14, 2018 21:31:16 GMT -5
At least he wasn't being attacked out of nowhere, but it was pretty obvious they were suspicious. After all, Yami would be as well if their roles were reversed, it just showed they were smart enough to not got taken advantage of by everyone. He also wasn't the only one to show up unexpected, but at least the other one came with references. And looked like a bear but hey, who was he to judge really.
The woman also confirmed his suspicion, those two were quite close, probably related. Judging by their age difference it seemed like a mother and her child, but the child had the power in their relationship. That must be nice.
Unfortunately Beat seemed to be a little more thoughtful about Yami coming on board for some reason. It couldn't be a lack of space, unless he had a small army already on board which although unlikely wouldn't really surprise him that much. He was a stranger, but to seem this unsure was odd. Most people would either say yes or no quite quickly, unless they wanted one but couldn't say it.
Eventually the others got sent into the ship, apparently the two Saiyans were going to have a talk. Knowing the little he did about how the race 'communicated' their feelings he was almost tempted to just give up and head back, but instead he stood his ground, waiting.
He was surprised when the talking turned out to mean exactly what it sounded like. First off he asked the obvious, probably going off of his self-evident tail or something else he didn't know about himself, to which he simply grunted in affirmation. No need to complicate things with talk of mixed races or anything, especially when it didn't really matter that much. His second question was more confusing, what faction was he in? He had just assumed there would only really be one major group of the race, and then those who didn't want to be a part of it would just be loners like his mother. Apparently not the case.
"Umm, none really. You're one of the only Saiyans I've even really met, I didn't exactly have the most...nurturing household for learning that kind of thing." He dropped his own suppression as he talked, as it was doing little and he didn't want to go against the dude yet. He knew his power level wouldn't exactly be high, but it was still a good deal more than most people he had met. Even so, he was proud of how far he had gotten while havnig to sneak around with no formal training or even any equipment to speak of.

"Hmn, a half saiyan then?" Beat asked again. "Guess you won't be alone."
For how on guard he is, he seriously thought that the guy was ready for a fight, or at least, thinking that Beat will pummel him or something. The kid wondered if it's because his own saiyan body build. Indeed, he's more muscular than any kids of his age, and definitely slightly more than even regular Saiyan kid. However, with this guy not familiar with any Saiyan either, that would... probably looks kinda intimidating huh... It's a complicated feeling. First he was having complex because he ended up too thin for Saiyan kid. But now that he got this strong he suddenly looks like a brute... Oh boy.
"Welp, I saw and sense enough. Come aboard," Beat told him. opening the door. "Follow me first just in case."
Beat led the way to the private room in the dining room. It felt weird to be honest, an 11 years old leading someone much older to a private room. There, Beat offered some light food. In this case, a sandwich. Chicken with some slices of tomato, lettuce and self made sauce. Standard stuff.
"Well, then, let's get to the boring formalities. Name's Beat, I'm the captain of this ship, Van Eltia. I don't require any respect, so just take it easy on me. I know how awkward it is for an 11 years old to get respected. I also hate that sort of thing anyway... I only little rules to upheld. First, don't make any problem. Second, if you need anything, come to me. Third, behave. Basically, common sense. I'm not planning to take any more refugee, honestly, so... you're in luck I guess. However, I got an agreement with my boss that I only take ten refugee from earth. You're the 11th, which mean this would be a special case. Normally, I don't want to stretch the agreement that I made with my boss. He's a scary guy... but I understand your desire to survive. Plus, you happened to be a half saiyan. As long as you don't mind working temporarily as a mercenary or other sort of job later in the place of refugee, I'm fine with taking responsibility for you. I understand that it sounded very forceful, but I can't really bring someone who can't benefit my faction. I hope you won't mind."
If that he doesn't mind, he would then get to the less boring points.
"...So, your strength is around... 1200...? Are you happened to be... you know, sheltered or something?"
Post by Yami Hiraga on Mar 14, 2018 22:57:28 GMT -5
The boy surprised Yami by figuring out he was only half Saiyan rathen quickly, and then again by implying that he was also one. It seemed he hadn't done anything too wrong, as he was allowed inside the ship. He was still told to follow behind the kid which made sense, just a couple of questions couldn't tell you that much about a person, and he could always be lying. Except for his power level that is, kind of hard to fudge that without suppression.
He was led to some kind of dining room, where food was made available. Even though he was hungry he didn't eat, thinking it would probably be rude to just start chowing down food before they had the chance to talk even a little. It did seem like Beat was in charge of the place after all.
He was told the boy's name, and that he was indeed both a captain and incredibly young for one, before the rules came into play. Not making a problem seemed pretty self explanatory and Yami didn't intend to, especially not when getting a free ride. He would just have to deal with whatever happened for a short while at least. The second was as simple as the first, as was the third, and it became apparent that Beat wasn't exactly the overbearing type which was a good sign.
The next part about a boss and not being allowed to have more than he was planning worried Yami, but it seemed like he was instead being offered an actual job to stay on board, which he could work with. Earn your dinner and all that, he could dig it, especially if his new boss was the kid himself. A weird situation, sure, but he could definitely think of worse ways to pass the time than under someone who could understand and hopefully teach him.
"Not at all, I'll do whatever it takes sir."
Coming from any other situation he would take the next question as an insult, but instead he just slumped in his seat.
"Yeah, not sure about the exact number though. I mean, I've always been a bit stronger than the other kids growing up, but my only point of reference was my mother, and she's leagues ahead of me. I've only really started to get stronger really recently, when I started training, but it's been pretty slow. Dad didn't like it so I couldn't really do too much."
Hopefully he was going on too much about himself, but it seemed like Beat wanted to know more so he was fine to give him the info. It was probably part of the ob interview or something anyways.

Being called Sir was incredibly iffy for the kid. He blushed and scratched his cheek. "...No, please don't call me that, seriously. I might be the captain here, but no..." At any rate, he decided that there's no problem with this, so it all end well. "I'm sure you're hungry. We packed quite a bit in this ship, so don't hold back. Just eat as we talk, it would be easier that way."
Considering that three of its initial passengers are saiyans, Beat kind of packed about a month worth of food with twenty saiyan people worth of 'em as precaution. He's sure that no kids back in earth that he took under his wing are saiyan, half or otherwise, but at any rate it was a precaution that he was glad that he took. Another saiyan onboard would not dent it anyway, considering the travel is just eight hours at most. The guy talked a bit about his past. Apparently he's growing up with a rather protective father. From the way he said it though, it seemed like he's not in the best term with the human father. The mother is apparently the Saiyan one, a reverse of him.
"...Guess we shared protective father then," Beat would say. "My father is a Saiyan. He's... really weak and was crippled. He can barely walk, but he's very talented with his hand. He didn't want me to get drafted into any war. Imagine this, our planet has since long have history of invasion. Not helping that Saiyan was the one among several that was responsible. If your father was afraid of you getting backlash from that then I won't blame him. I too got my power sealed by my father. I just knew it in his post mortem will. I don't really know what's the exact reason for your father meanwhile, but all I can say is, it's not too late to get stronger. I'm not here to preach about thinking about your father's feeling, but I definitely can train you. You might think that it'll be embarrassing for a kid to train you, but if I can toot my own horn for a bit, I think I'm quite qualified."
Beat slowly takes off the weighted part of his clothing and undoed his ki suppression, raising his sensible ki to 91.000, which is obviously superhuman even for Saiyan standard, then lowered it back to 500 as quickly.
"Whew... Well, at any rate, Remnant Alliance could afford another fighter. If you're not a fighter, I won't blame you and I'll try to look for jobs that you might like, probably like blacksmithing, or working in cafe or space patrol stuff. However, if you want a life of a mercenary, then I'll train you. Let's forget the awkwardness of age at this moment. Think more about how to build your life from now on. Our planet is doomed at this moment. If I can drop a bomb... I think if left alone, Earth could explode at any time."
Does that sounds something like he's beyond his age? Guess he can't help it. He had no idea how to carry himself in front of a stranger after a long while. Previously he would act like a weakling, but those days already over. He's now Beat of Remnant Alliance. He's no longer the same weakling. That's why when he was faced with someone weaker than him despite being older, he seriously out of whack of how to treat them
Post by Yami Hiraga on Mar 15, 2018 1:25:07 GMT -5
It didn't look like the guy was used to being in a position above others to Yami, not that it really mattered. He did let Yami know that eating was fine, and so he dug in. It wasn't bad for how simple it was.
Beat also mistook his father for being protective of him rather than the jerk he really was and Yami didn't care enough to correct him. The man was gone after all, no reason to dwell on him for even a second. Most of what was said about understanding his father was simply ignored, going in one ear and out the other as he tried to look sincere. What he did listen to was the offer of training, which was an interesting concept and definitely one he was certainly interested in.
As he was about to respond Beat began to remove parts of his clothing, and Yami was a little worried, until he saw that they were simply weighted parts of his actual clothes. Intrigued he watched, noting that Beat removed his suppression. His ki levels rose quickly, but while Yami expected it to stop fairly low, although higher than his, it continued to rise until it dwarfed his own. He had a mental image of two flames, one from a match that was dying next to a forest fire.
His mouth dropped open even as the level dropped again, the half eaten sandwich stopped on it's way to his mouth. The boy continued as though nothing had happened, which Yami supposed it hadn't for him. He offered him alternative jobs to being one of the fighters, which snapped Yami out of his stupor.
"No, I want to fight. I haven't really got any experience against other people, but even my basic training felt right."
He then restated his offer of training, while at the same time pretty much telling him that the planet was headed towards complete destruction. Just who was this kid, and what was he involved in to know about and talk about such things so easily? He said Remnant Alliance, so it was obviously one of the factions he didn't even know existed before, but which side were they on? And who were they fighting?
"I don't know about the future, or anything big like that. All I know is I want to get strong enough to not have to listen to people who expect whatever they want handed to them."

Welp, that must be a shock to see a kid could get to this strong. He wondered what would he feel if he met Rensu who's at crazy 223.000 at 16? Or maybe Komatsu, who's while not present here was definitely exceeding 30 million-something in power at 20? While he honestly could get used to this nice feeling of someone gawking at his strength, he's not really in mood for the little shock he's showing. Beat nodded at the resolution that the guy have about fighting. "Understood. Well, you haven't told me your name, so should I just call you Blackie-niisan or something?" Beat joked. "...Your goal is kind of similar to mine, really. I guess I should explain about Remnant Alliance, huh?"
Beat took several stack of bread for himself and sliced some fried, crispy chicken. While he did that, he start speaking. "Remnant Alliance, it's a group consisting of mercenary like Saiyans. I have no idea if you know what our race are notorious of, but you can say that enslavement, planet conquering for selling and stuff like that was one among several stuff tied to us. Remnant Alliance however is difference. Our goal is to help saiyans who does not wish for destruction, conquering and enslavement to put their strength in more positive sector. That is, by being mercenary. We're not goodie two shoes, I think. But as far as moral compass goes, we're more to neutral good than chaotic or evil. Our goal is to find peace for our race while at the same time giving our people's battlefield they desire. While we have a leader to follow, we're allowed to pick our own battlefield, simple as that. So we're not kingdom that have to follow our king, nope. Ah, by the way, I'm just a newbie in all of this. My bro in this ship probably could give you more details on that."
That aside... "Oh right, our base is in a planet quite far away from here called Namek. We're currently living in harmony with those Namekians. You can say that they're our landlord, but all in all, my boss is the one who decides whether you can join or not. Well, there should be a test of competency, so I'll give you some training... but that best be saved for a bit later, kay? I'm sure you're tired. You should probably take it easy today. Well, at any rate, if there's something that you want to ask, personal or about Remnant Alliance, just ask. It's the best to know each other more, after all. I'll be the one responsible for you when we arrived there unless my boss said otherwise in any case."
Post by Yami Hiraga on Mar 15, 2018 4:13:32 GMT -5
Beat seemed content with Yami's choice to not take a more peaceful stance, and also gave him a weird nickname as he realised he had forgotten to tell the boy what his name was.
"Yami, you can call me Yami."
Once more he sat silent whle listening to more explanation, his brain starting to go into information overload by now. The group was made up of mercenaries like his mother, which was a little concerning. He couldn't see her teaming up with anyone like this, but he didn't want to run into her by accident. Thinking of his mother gave credence to the fact that Saiyans weren't exactly known for loving the rest of the galaxy, and even he could see how lucrative capturing and subsequently selling planets could be. However, these 'Remnants' seemed to be a little different.
They seemed to be focused on doing whatever they wanted, as long as it was more good than evil. They did have an overall leader, so he assumed if anyone went directly against them it wouldn't fly, but it sounded alright on paper. Despite his power Yami wasn't surprised to hear that Beat was a newbie, he was still only 11 after all, but maybe ages didn't exactly mean as much as he thought they did when you were flying between planets.
"I'll have to ask him when I meet him."
Their base was on another planet, which made sense. However even just thinking of the possibility of going there was making his head swim with the new scale he had lucked himself into. It did turn out he would need to take some kind of test, and he didn't exactly think they meant a written one. Still, with Beat training him he felt fairly confident, and he was going to do whatever it took to prove himself.
"I think I've got the basics, but I could use some time to digest the info. Is there anywhere I could relax for a little while?"
Assuming he was told he would take the directions, listening to anything else Beat had to say.

"Well, Yami, huh? Alright, got it." That sounds like all Saiyan names to be honest... They sounds vaguely vegetable... Or at least, that's what he thought. His name itself is kind of punnish huh? Still, it looks like that the guy would have information overload if he said more. So he decide to just close it. "Well, Ren-nii--er, I mean Rensu should be inside this ship somewhere, but I'd rather not disturb him at this moment. He might be training, he might be sleeping. They said best to not part saiyan and their training, food and sleep lest you get the blaze of their wrath. Well, he never really got angry to me, though. He's really chill, but I still don't want to bother him anyway."
Some time to digest the info is good and all. "Your room will be room no. 7. I'll authenticate it. Please wait a minute..." Beat now faced the control panel that seem to be scattered around the ship. There's at least one in all room. "Captain Beat hereby authorize the usage of chamber no 7."
CHAMBER NO 7 IS NOW UNLOCKED.
"And that's your personal room until we get to Namek. All you have to do is to go back to the way we gone from. Remember the lift? Press no 2 and you'll get to the room floor. If you need any help, you can just call me from the intercom. Just press the icon with captain hat over here in the touch panel and it'll automatically connect to the intercom where I am. If I turned it on silence, the icon should be darkened. That means I'm not in mood to be disturbed. But if it's emergency just press it anyway. Sure I'll be fuming, but at least I'll be understanding. About the room, the number on the door should tell you which one is yours. It's impossible to enter another person's room without their permission, so don't worry if you accidentally tried to open the wrong room."
Well that aside... "I'll go back to control bridge. Do you need anything before I leave you to your own device?"

The 'bro' that Beat had spoken of was given a name, and from the sounds of it he sounded like an interesting guy. Yami was warned that interrupting him would probably be a bad idea and sounded like it would end painfully, but Beat also called him chill. Were all Saiyans so full of contradictions?
He was given a room number, lucky number 7 of all things. All he had to do was take the lift to the right floor and he would be able to find it, amongst the other people's rooms. He was also told how to contact Beat if he needed anything, apparently there would be an intercom that would act as a communicator if necessary. He didn't see having to use it when Beat was not wanting to talk, but it was good to know that it would still work in an emergency. Yami also wasn't the type of person to try going into someone else's room unless invited or something else.
"Thanks, I think I'll be good. Again, thank you for everything."
With that he took his leave, making use of the directions to go to what was now his room.
