What a horrible mess that whole ordeal was. The tree, the lookout meeting with that Corn man. All of it filled the back of her mind. She was meant to settle a tournament between universes? A strange, foreign concept. One that she'd only theoretically called upon. Suppose lingering on it wouldn't make much sense nowadays. Her friends, rivals, and enemies were all basically gods able to rule over large portions of their known Galaxy. it was still perplexing though. For the time being, the young flame would have a good bit longer to her mansion. Her small troupe of elemi here. Her niece. Most importantly, Auntie herself. She had been waiting for the return for a bit now, wondering if her girl was about to set of again so abruptly.
Was time to break her heart.
"Jackie! What was it they were asking you for exactly?" The pair convened, now late night, over a bit of tea. The young flame was careful to not just be blunt with it, rolling her shoulders and glancing away a moment to think. There really was no other way about it though. Even if she straight up lied, there was a hunch that the older caretaker would catch on real quickly.
"Looks like the world still needs me. Or, rather, the universe." This physically perplexed the old woman, wrinkles tightening in a frown as she took another patient sip of her cup. She was rather quick to speak up and protest, standing from the large dining table they sat. But before she could get more than a couple words out Flare interrupted her and waved away her words.
"The Galaxy and beyond is fucked up from everything that's happened. Or so I'm to believe. Jarvis was even there... Got a big ol' speech and recruitment from one of the Earthling guys I fought side by side with during that whole scandal. He was suppose to be dead, but apparently got appointed as a leader. Or something. Lot of far-fetched crap." After explaining that little bit to the woman she'd sigh and rub at her hip. Downcast eyes averting the fiery lady before she turned away.
"I know I should be proud but, you need a break. You've been through so much..." And though the two would share a good few more minutes over the tea, the old lady would eventually retire. Old woman, and all. Flare is gonna be sitting and musing a bit more over the tea while in this dimly lit dining room. Siting at the head seat.
"It really sounds like you have a lot on your plate already, wouldn't the tournament of power just be too much of a burden for you?" Nakiya's voice would sound gently from across the dinner table where the Demonic Queen sat. Nakiya was in her Makaioshin transformation, though her power suppressed so that she wouldn't immediately alert all of Earth to her presence here. She was here on business, not conquest, and so she needed to play her cards smart while retaining her authoritative stature.
"You've fought and lost so much already. You've bruised your body many times over training with who you thought was a friend... humiliated by a certain blue haired god, and even lost your lover to that same man... all in the timespan of a year. I could go on about your adventures, Miss Flare, though I feel I don't need to bring up some painful memories. " She would say just as gently, leaning forward to grab the teapot and carefully pouring herself a cup of tea, using the tea cup left behind by the old woman sitting in her spot previously. She would bring the cup to her lips and sip at it, humming lightly as she downed the sip of hot fluid.
"Forgive me if I seem rude to not introduce myself... but I believe you've already deduced who I am? I've come to see you with a proposal that would be greatly beneficial to you, if you are willing to simply sit and have some tea with me." She raised her cup towards Flare in a motion that could indicate a toast, waiting for Flare's response before she would chose to bring it back to her lips once more.
The woman's sudden presence caused Flare to tense noticeably. The hell? A dangerous glow of red glistened from her eyes as she watched this demonic looking woman, weaker in form than she, appear from thin air and almost exactly step into conversation from where Auntie had stepped out just minutes ago. It didn't click instantly who she was, but her words cut a bit deeper than they warranted doing. From a complete stranger, this shouldn't hurt as bad. But she knew, this demon did. She was saying all the right words to fuck with her in the moment.
"What the...- How... Like hell, I fight for the causes I think are right! How'd you know any of my trials? Even if you were just snooping, I didn't just tell people any of this stuff-! How dare you!" She's a smart girl. She picked up quite easily who this was after she mentioned the blue haired prick and some more prodding. Her own teacup shook rather violently in her holding hand as she restrained herself just enough to not fly out of this seat to outright punch this woman. It was her, the boogeyman. Small bits of flame wrap around her hair and other hand as a very concentrated ball develops on her fingertip, pointed at the woman. The way she perked up in her seat said it all.
"You already know who I am... and I most certainly know who you fuckin' are! Witch, you haggard tool! HOW DARE YOU APPROACH ME! You better be a fast talker, because I have EVERY right in this UNIVERSE to just come across this table and turn you into charcoal for the fireplaces. You're pretty damn stupid thinking you could just walk up to me in the open!" She'd take a verbal jab at her from this seat, almost growling. To make it worse, she was far less eloquent with her words than the seamstress of her destiny was. Before Nakiya would get a chance to even say anything again in response she'd cut in again in a hushed shout.
"This better be a damn good proposal, I swear I'll burn a hole through ya.""
"Unfortunately for you, your fire will have little effect on me if you tried." She said passively, waving her free hand before taking another sip of tea. She would put the cup down as Flare stood up and raised her voice, calling the Demon Queen all sorts of colorful names and sounding quite insulted that she would even dare to come to the mansion at all. She couldn't help but internally sigh at this mortals arrogance... honestly, these Earthlings had just as much pride as the saiyans though it seemed to be bruised that much easier.
"Yes yes, I'm a vile and evil creature you would burn at the stake in a heartbeat if you had the chance, it's nothing I have not heard before girl. Sit down and listen, if I was here to harm you, I wouldn't have bothered to talk to you." She stated seriously, her crimson eyes seeming to burn with a cold fire that would pierce through Flare's very soul. The glance only lasted a brief moment before Nakiya poured herself another cup of Tea.
"I want you to back out of the Tournament of Power, in exchange for this I will give you a small piece of the loved one you have lost. What was her name again... Shizen? That life elemi? Yes, well as it were, she bore a daughter with Caesar and the girl resides at my palace. I have no interest in one of his bastard children, so I offer her to you in exchange for this. Refuse the Tournament of Power, and come with me to makai to see her for yourself. You can do whatever you want with her after that." Nakiya would state plainly, getting straight to the point as to why she showed up. Honestly, she had no issues giving Cassia away as the girl didn't share her blood in the slightest. Truth be told she hated the child as much as she hated the mother. Caesar was hers, and hers alone... any bastard children born to him would meet her wrath and be used in any way she saw fit. This was honestly one of the more merciful deals she could think of for the child.
Ooo, this rather casual deference to her threats didn't really help the fiery woman calm down. It infuriated her back in the days of Jarvis and Nasu, and like hell was she going to let this one get away with it either. Like a testament against both the nerve to say her fire would do nothing and that she wasn't here to cause any harm she'd dare take steps forward. Now lighting her whole hand aflame with hints of searing blue fires emerging.
"What, you think this is coming for you just because you look funny? Get off that horse, you think I'm that stupid? That I don't know most anything you've done had fucked with me and my family? My life? I'm not sitting down, you're telling me to my face what I need to know before we find out what the melting point of DEMON is! Physics doesn't give a crap about how fire retardant you a-" Flare got off her high horse real quick with the other words registering. Almost frozen for a moment in time, the elemi pulled back some of her aggression with a step away from her. a clenched fist still shaking. Shizen's child? Was that the... Cassia the poor woman went on about? Who she had to save? Oof, that memory hit something. Her face turned physically pained a few moments.
"What? You still have her?" The idea of abandoning the tournament. Being weighed against the kid of her former love. The sort of sadistic crap was this? Nakiya might have come with no ill intent, but this was definitely something of a harsh thing to consider. Considering all the woman had done, what Flare knew of, it'd be foolish to take these words at face value.
"You're crazy, You're a liar!... The fate of the universe, or... Or Cassia? How do you even know about that? And what makes you think I'm stupid enough to even trust anything you say? You've done nothing but make my life a living hell! Prove to me you have any principle before you go around tryin' to convince me of anything." She was hurt, obviously. And had reason to not even trust any of these words.
"Oh, so now you're interested in what I have to offer you hm? After so much disrespect, I'm tempted to just pack up and go home... alas, i do still need you to back out of the tournament. If there is one thing about me you can trust, is the fact that I honor my deals. It's a Demon thing, we're duty bound to honor the deal we make, hence why we do not make them very often. Cassia Blehbarry, for your participation in the tournament, if you feel the need to see her prior to agreeing to this arrangement, then here." Nakiya would gently place down the cup of tea and stand up to her feet. She would reach to her side and detach a sword and sheath from her waist. She would extend the covered sword towards Flare, holding it at both of their eye levels.
"This sword can create a portal to and from the Demon World, specifically to my palace. That is where we keep Cassia. If you wish to see her and make sure she is alive, well and exactly who I say she is, then by all means take my sword and go to her. I cannot trap you in my world, as you will have your own way back here. If you find that she is in fact to your satisfaction, then we will seal our agreement. I have another in mind to take your place for the Tournament, he isn't quite as strong as you, but he is nothing to sneeze at. I hope you don't feel as if you are abandoning the Universe if you agree, I do live in it too after-all." She spoke as she held the sword up for Flare. While most of her words were true, not all of them were... exactly as she stated. Cassia was indeed in the palace, though in a completely separate pocket dimension for the time being. Nakiya had the young hybrid tending to the dark garden that grew around the pool of Demonic Water. She made sure the girl would stay put there by promising her she would be able to finally meet her mother...
"That'd be..." Nakiya was quick to stand and offer explanation. pretty little words that the young flame would want to hear before agreeing to ANYTHING. The woman she had failed, mentor she had failed. Lost friends and family, they'd all been forsaken by her actions. was it really right to be making deals with the devils of Makai? The same woman she knows damn well is just using her? There was perhaps an underlying reason for accepting the sword, as Flare nearly swiped it from her roughly and took a look over it.
"Yes, I will be seeing the child first before I even think of it at all. All it takes is a swipe of this sword, you say?" Flare'd inquire, snapping her fingers with a woof of flame swirling out from them before tugging at the handle. Drawing it from its sheath to take the blade itself a look over. Rather carelessly. If she was getting a passage to Makai, she could do several things. Some a bit more... obscene than others. The only nice demons she has met don't frequent the place. It's perhaps the best opportunity to get back at this she-witch. If it was her palace, her domain, perhaps the woman could see a bit more reason in... force.
"We'll see. You'll have to realize my anger and loathing for you has its reasons. If one thing is for sure, is that I'm tired of fighting... Maybe it'd be a nice change to be able to settle back down and have a somewhat normal life. Can't say you'd understand that, demon lady." She'd poke a bit at Nakiya... And it was a damn good thing that she couldn't read minds like Caesar could. She was pretty much putting on a good face for this. Lying through her teeth with a sudden change in demeanor. If given the proper instructions on how to actually use the blade in question from earlier she'd swipe out an open portal from the blade like a natural. Glancing between it and the queen with some scrutiny.
"I did invite you, so be my guest Dear. You simply strike the air as if someone was in front of you and a dark portal will open for you. If it makes you feel any better, I can walk through it first if you prefer? I do understand how you earthlings think about me and how you might believe this is a trap. However, trust me when I say there is nothing else I want from you than for you to withdraw from this tournament." After a quick and prompt instruction on how to use the sword, Nakiya would wait for the familiar Demon Portal to open. As she assured Flare she would, Nakiya would step through it first, re-appearing within the Demon Realm. More specifically, she reappeared in the pocket dimension within the castle.
The lights within this dimension were almost non existent, feeling like the complete opposite of the Hyperbolic Time chamber. This room was cold, and as if there was no gravity at all. Time here flowed just the same as it did within the Demon realm and so there would be no special benefit of being here... None beyond what lay within the dark pool before her. By the pool, the small, blue haired girl worked diligently at planting beautiful large white flowers by the rivers edge. There were several turned over flower pots, the girl covered in dirt from head to toe due to her work. Nakiya only cast Cassia a quick look before taking a side step to allow Flare to follow suit.
The water itself seemed to have a certain dark glow to it that provided just enough ambient light for anyone within that dimension to see where they were, so upon arrival, Flare would be able to see Cassia well enough for being at such a distance. Once the Demonic portal closed though, Cassia would come running over towards Nakiya with a big, innocent smile on her face.
"I thought I would plant flowers while I waited for you... aren't they pretty?? They started white though... they just... keep changing colors after I plant them... it's weird... oh! Is this her Master Nakiya? Is this... my mama?" Cassia would ask eagerly as she would turn from Nakiya towards Flare with a look of curiosity playing her features. While she seemed excited at meeting who was potentially her mother, she grew shy really quick and started to take a few steps to hide behind Nakiya. Nakiya didn't say a word to Cassia's question, instead turning her gaze towards Flare.
Flare was going to watch the woman step in before her, glancing around her own dining room for a moment. Hopefully not for a last time. With another flick of her wrist and snap of fingers she'd snuff out a few of the candles lit for Auntie earlier and also keep the heat on the tea. Maybe it'd still be warm by the time she got back. Or her niece would come down for some. In any case, she'd eventually enter the strange realm with Nakiya. Taking a moment to take in the strange atmosphere and scenery. It set off some weird emotions, otherworldly in nature. of course, they were in a literal other realm. But still, nerves crawled.
Seeing the child engrossed in gardening and covered in dirt near the dimly lit deep dark stream lightened her up a bit though. The pair looking nothing alike, and the sight of blue hair at first sent a pain through her already sore heart. She was precious enough that this wasn't going to settle harshly.... yet. Her being shy was just icing. The dark woman gave a grand, warm smile to the child and leaned forward to Cassia. tilting her head to the side.
"They are beautiful Cass... Yes. Mama. Mama is... here." She never thought she'd not only be saying that, but hearing that. Offering open arms for the dirty young tyke. Considering her time with the silver haired Jie-Shan too... It's possible she'll have a playmate too. Many thoughts on this would pop up in her head, and considering the other ideas she came up with prior, it all seemed to fall in line through her mind. But, there were a few other problems that came up when she actually remembered to think on it. Rather than settling into mom mode almost instantly.
["So. Mind telling me why the kid's this old?"] The demon queen might be surprised to feel the voice of Flare in the back of her head. A small heat coming from her brand of telepathy that leaves a bit of heat in the brain.
The corner of Nakiya's mouth would twitch as she went to respond to Cassia, though paused whenever Flare jumped in to tell the girl she was in fact, her mother. Oh well this just tickled her pink! She really was going to be bound to the girl after an announcement like that, which could only mean she was definitely going to get what she wanted and with even less effort than she had anticipated. It was amazing how much influence a child could have over a heart broken woman.
"... hmmm" Cassia would hesitate for a moment as she looked Flare up and down. She didn't look anything like what she expected her mama to look like, but then again she had no idea what that was... she had only pre fabricated an image of her in her head, a fantasy really as she wasn't given any information on where her mother was at all. She couldn't even use her own complexion or hair to compare to the woman as she had apparently inherited those traits from her father. slowly, Cassia would step out from behind Nakiya's leg with another moment of hesitation which would no doubt hang awkwardly in the air for the two, but soon Cassia's eyes would start to well up with tears before she would lunch forward and leap into Flare's arms, sobbing her little emerald eyes out as she snuggled into Flare's chest desperately.
<All children born to royalty or... by extension her court, receive accelerated aging until 5 years of age. In our position we cannot allow our children to be a weakness to us. We cannot dedicate caregivers to infants as those caregivers probably want us dead just as much. It is safer for everyone that they be of an age capable to take care of themselves to some degree. From my understanding, she was placed in an incubator shortly after conception and sent here, to Makai, for safekeeping. Now, do we have a deal? The child for you revoking your participation in the Tournament of Power?> Nakiya's words were just as silent as Flares, returning the woman's thoughts completely un disturbed by the intrusion to her own mind.
Flare seemed more than happy to have the dirty kid come up to her and snuggle into her. The crying would give her a bit of a tremble, but mother's instinct trumps most all inhabilitations on that front. The dark would would lift Cassia up and hug her tight, attempting to give the child some agency. Patting her back and rocking her in their embrace. Little tiny emotional flames whirled around the tops of her short cut hair while she listened to the sobs of a girl without a mother. Shizen might be gone, but that doesn't mean she couldn't have one.
"Shhh... I'm here now... I'm here, don't worry." Nakiya's little spiel over aging the children was interesting, but still boggled her Earthling-trained mind. She had long since thrown out the notion of a logical, reasonable world now that so much magic and wave handing was applied to the rules of the universe. But it compromised her some. Now her past life really WAS a blip on the radar in terms of substance. A race just... had aging capabilities. Makes sense in the end, they're demons. When it came time to decide the fate of the offer Flared give a side turn to Nakiya and look her over a moment. Given the option ad the fact she had the portal sword in her hands? And the child? It was about her time to assert herself over someone else's tomfoolery. The young flame took shifted the young Cass to hang by her hip with one arm while she took up the sword again. Casting its glint against the dark before swiping out to try and create a portal with it... Nothing but a swoosh and fizzle.
"Ya know, I wish I didn't have to do this in front of her." She'd comment with a bit of a frown and toss the sword's tip to the ground. Looking back at her with squinted eyes. The demon queen probably already knows what the elemi is thinking of just by way of expression. Oh yeah, she was going to fight over this if she had to.
"Did you really expect me to just come here and stay put? I'm taking the child with me."
Cassia would just cry and cry as she rubbed her face into Flare's chest, wiping away all manner of tears and ensuing boogers onto her shirt. Even when she was moved to her hip, the tears barely stopped as Cassia would sniffle and look up to her mother wondering just what she was doing by moving her. She was still in her arms, so she didn't protest it too much... but as Flare withdrew the sword, her eyes travelled down along it's blade before looking back up to Nakiya and clinging onto Flare as she silently declared Flare belonging to her.
Nakiya would just chuckle as she brought her arms up into a shrug while faced with Flare and the Gateway Sword, honestly, how foolish did Flare think she actually was? Was it not this very woman who had just complained about the fact that Nakiya had screwed her life over with all of her scheming? She would just smile and stay put, making no advances on the woman or the child. In fact, once the hilarity of the situation lessened, Nakiya actually started to walk away towards the Dark Pool.
"Honestly honestly, there's no need to be so harsh. Go on and take her back then, all it takes is a swing of a sword right? If it's taken you this long to figure things out, then you're already much too late anyways." She'd say lightly as she sat down by the edge of the pool, changing back from her full Makaioshin transformation to her base form. In this form, Nakiya was completely naked, only her long red hair and the shadows serving to mask her assets. She would dip her toe into the water before letting both of her legs sink into it's darkness. It shouldn't be long now for Flare to realise that she was going to be stuck here. The fact that Cassia was here only aided in her plan to corrupt Flare and keep her here in the Demon realm until everything was said and done...
Flare took a moment to look Cassia over. Rocking her a bit more as Nakiya gave her own little spiel. The sword didn't work, and it'd seem the demon only taunted her with asking her to use it again. There was a silent moment between the demon letting her guard down and the elemi holding the girl a little longer. Was it fear? Pain? Betrayal? Something was catching her eyes of course, but it was a lot lighter hearted in nature. These taunting words and the realization the demon queen was basically refusing her got the woman to start tearing up. Holding her stomach she began to laugh. Heartily.
She was waiting for an excuse.
After laughing, the woman would smile at Cassia and offer to put her down. Taking off the coat the Earthling raised elemi basically wore all the time and offering it to her around her shoulders. if just to make sure she'd know Flare wasn't just about to leave her any time soon. She was here, and by golly she was not only here for the girl but for this.
"Move back a good bit hun. I've got to... work out some details with Nakiya here." Head pats ensued before she'd shoo her away and try to turn on the queen. In her spandex one-piece now, the fiery lady would step on along towards the queen who seemed to be fairly confident in her standing. Flare probably thinks herself as smart for just coming in so willingly under the pretense she'd be able to do this. A sudden moment before reaching just behind the queen, Flare let off an immense amount of heat and whooshing flame as she ascended to her mastered form.
[Mastered Elemi PL: 22,110,642/20,946,924]
"I don't think I asked you. Maybe you wasn't listening... I am going to MAKE you bring me back. And then some!" Flare roared and reached on down. Make her do SOMETHING, ff not just kill her outright. Without even a moment to spare the haste of the elemi's hands tried grabbing at the woman's back hair and pull her hard out of dark, nasty water. Lighting her hands aflame as well as she did so, trying to pull and toss her by the hair. Preferably to the ground just next to her.
When Flare offered to put her down, Cassia would cling to her tightly and not let go, even as she was put back down onto the ground. She stared up at her m other with pleading, tearful eyes until she finally had to let her go. Flare would take off her jacket and place it around her though, and Cassia would hold onto it tightly. She stared between both women, but her gaze finally stopped on her mother again before speaking up.
"Mama... Miss Nakiya and daddy have been really nice to me here. Well I mean, in the palace... I get to play with my brother and sisters a lot too so...uhm..." She wasn't quite sure where she was going with this... her mother was obviously upset as she suddenly burst into flames... she didn't want her mama to hurt Nakiya, because then she might not be allowed back to spend time with the rest of her family...
Meanwhile, Nakiya had just managed to submerge the upper half of her body into the cold water, a shiver running up and down her spine as she breathed a sigh of relief. Being a fire Dragon meant she was always running hot, and the cool darkness of this water, while horrifying to most, soothed her just enough. She wasn't completely at ease though, sensing the heat from Flare's transformation and a hand grasping for her hair. Her power level would suddenly start to rise, as she could feel the Elemi woman attempting to pull her out by her hair as if it was some form of weakness. Her hair would app but vanish as it shifted and began to harden into two large horns as Nakiya returned to her Hakaoishin transformation. Instead of a fist full of hair, Flare would now be holding onto one of her horns.
The elemi was still successful in pulling her out of the water, but before she could slam Nakiya down into the ground, the Demon would suddenly vanish from her grasp in a puff of dark smoke. For a moment, it didn't look like she was anywhere, but she would suddenly re-appear not too far away from Cassia, though not so close that she would pose any imminent threat. Nakiya had managed to transform into a small bug, avoiding Flare's grasp and transforming back to normal in a safer location.
"Well now that was just rude. I invite you into my home and this is what you do? Really... unfortunately for you we're all stuck here. I can't make portals without the sword, and you went and wore it out. Give it some time, and you'll be able to leave with at least one of her children. Better than none, right?" she said with a straight face, lying through her teeth towards the woman. She didn't know how much this woman knew about Demons, so it was definitely worth a shot. Besides, she could easily portal herself and even Cassia out of here, locking Flare inside and preventing her from just jumping through her own personal portal as well... that was, unless Flare agreed to drinking that very water she had taken a dip into.
Horn in hand, this was sure to hurt! Wasn't what she was expecting, but... Flare stopped before letting the full inertia flow through and watched as the woman just phased through her attack. Not phased and transformed once again. The flaming lady let out an irritated growl and clenched her fist that once held the woman. Just giving Cassia a quick glance with a bit of hesitation across her face to keep that irritated look. It wasn'tthe girl's fault that she saw these people in such positive light. She was practically raised by them. Still...
"Hmph. Talk about a party trick... You take me as some idiot? Fool, maybe, but I didn't decide to follow you here just to get stuck and take my child. You realize this, yes?" She'd asked with a few steps forward towards the queen. Raising a fiery hand to demonstrate a large blast of fire to the skies above them. Whatever was held in this dimension of darkness would be lit up, or the fire snuffed out by the unnatural darkness perhaps.
"You can go whenever, can't ya? You demon types usually know that portal stuff the sword did. Funny. What, just leave us in this weird, dark hole that you put us into without a way for yourself to have an out?" As another attempt to try and keep the woman from just up and keeping away from her again, the woman would walk on past Cassia and try pulling the queen on in with her fiery hands. Attempting to grapple her by the shoulders. At this point her frustration with the woman not only refusing her service, but also playing it off like she was a mere guest invited to a humble home just ticked her off. Flare was surprised she wasn't just blasting away.
