”Well that's a relief. Now I can be at ease knowing that you won't smite me for being a non-believer. This way you’ll always have the privilege of having my company.”
Holly cupped her hand over her mouth, letting out a series of giggles. She was enjoying the company of Galen more than she thought she would. He wasn't serious all the time like she thought he would be. He had a rather nice sense of humor that she found herself enjoying. She couldn’t recall the last time she enjoyed interacting with someone outside of her family to this degree.
Holly had stayed in the position she had entered when praying for Shiori. She appreciated that Galen offered to help bring her back if she had died. He would probably help her bring back Lumis and Tetra if she asked. They most certainly would have perished when the Earth blew up.
When Galen started explaining about the special tools he had at his disposal, she opened her eyes and looked over at him again. Her eyes widened as he told her everything. She honestly felt a little woozy from all that he speaked about. It was really hard to take it all in at once.
“If you have all those tools at your disposal, how could you have lost? Using the time chamber for just a weak would make you powerful beyond measure.”
Holly began walking again, this time towards a stream in the distance. There was something she wanted to try out now that she had a body. While she went over there, she would learn more about all these fantastical things Galen had at his disposal.
He was having a blast. He was enjoying Holly's company a lot and this was all very nice and warm for him, who was usually very lonely watching over things in his Tower above the clouds. It was weird, but a part of him was kinda happy they "died" together, because it provided him with the opportunity to meet and bond, but he wasn't really thinking about it, he was just enjoying the experience. Holly seemed quite overwhelmed by the information he was providing and it didn't surprise him when she asked how they could've lost and he chuckle a bit. "Well... To be honest, I had just gotten back to life when the attack happened. The attack was the reason I came back in the first place. I sensed something bad was happening and the moment I got back to the Timeless Lookout, I just grabbed my senzu bean at the Tower and headed immediately to the battlefield." it was a bit embarrassing to admit he had died only hours after he had come back to life, but at this point he didn't care to hide his shame, even though he blushed slightly and scratched the back of his head.
"Also... You can only use the Hyperbolic Time Chamber twice in your life, otherwise you may be trapped inside of that dimension forever. And the Holy Water only increases your power once as well and, while I had never been inside the Chamber, I had the opportunity to go a couple times, but decided to let stronger warriors take my place, as their training would help the Earth more than I could, or so I thought at the time..." he thought to himself, thinking that maybe if he had decided to go regardless, things might have been different somehow, but again, there was no use crying over spilled milk and he shook his head.
He watched as she walked towards the stream and he followed, keeping a considerable distance in between them. Galen didn't know what she was up to, but he wanted to let Holly free to explore Heaven on her own terms.

So he hadn't even been alive for one day when he had died again. Holly would have felt pity for him of he weren’t in such high spirits. Not to mention the Time Chamber had its limits. It did make sense. Galen would have been much stronger if he didn't. She looked over him, looking over at the other human as she talked straight to him.
“Strength isn’t the only thing you should consider. I agree that someone has to be strong to fully utilize the chamber, but you are powerful in your own right. And you're loyal to Earth, which is more important. Those stronger warriors didn't come to our aid when we needed it the most. You need to stop underestimating yourself and take the initiative. Believe that you can get stronger.”
Holly walked over to the stream, and stopped just a couple of feet from the water. She lifted a leg, reaching down with both hands and slowly sliding her shoe off.
“You mentioned that I had to materialize clothes in addition to forming my body. Is it conceivable for me to materialize more clothing right now? Or change the type of clothing that I’m wearing right now?”
Holly slipped off her other shoe, than sat down on the ground. She slipped her feet into the water, enjoying the feeling of the cool liquid surrounding her. She leaned back slightly, trying to relax on the edge of the stream.
With a simple nod, he agreed to what she said. Galen was always there to fight for Earth whenever they needed. "You are right, your grace. I have started changing my mindset ever since I died the last time. To be honest, when I arrived at the check-in station and Queen Aka offered me the opportunity to train with King Kai I almost refused. I thought, for a moment, it would be pointless and that me, as a human, couldn't really help. But I was wrong. And I won't ever allow myself to lose my faith again." and although his tone was calm, it did not lack conviction.
When she approached the stream, he watched from a few feet away, unable to help himself but to admire her. She was truly cute and pleasant and he was once again feeling his heart race a bit, but he shook his head to that. Suddenly, Holly asked him about the materialization of clothes and he blinked twice, thinking for a second before nodding. "Well, yes. You can materialize more clothes. Even weapons!" he paused, pointing to his own sword. "This sword is exactly like the sword I inherited from my village, but my original sword was lost when Caesar killed me. Then, when I came back, I had this sword with me, an exact replica manifested by my will. So... Yeah, we have quite a lot of mystical powers here in the otherworld!" he explained.

Galen was starting to believe in himself more. She was glad to see that he was going to give it his all from now on. It was good to accept help from others, but they had to be strong on their own as well. She needed people with strong conviction, who could push themselves to new heights. Only then would they be able to protect the Earth.
Holly took in everything that Galen said, her eyes closing as she thought of a particular image. A light flashed underneath her dress for a moment. She didn’t have to look to know that the change that she had wanted to happen was successful. Holly stood up, holding her palm down at the water. A red magic circle appeared on the surface. It began heating the temperature of the water, although she didn't intend for it to go too high.
“It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to enjoy a hot springs. I’m going to change now. You can look away again if you wish, although this time I’m not naked.”
With that, Holly began to slip out of her dress. She wondered if Galen would do the polite thing again. Although this time it wasn’t a compromising situation. Still, it would be interesting to see how he would react.
So he got to witness some magic and that was something he thought it was quite awesome she was able to turn that stream into a hot spring. "Wow, that's so cool!" he exclaimed, awestruck by her display of magical ability. But then, he listened to her words, saying she was going to change again and that made him blush and his heart beat increased right at the spot and he didn't know what to do and he got even more anxious when she kind of gave him a choice to look away or not. Well, part of him - and he didn't really understand why - wanted to keep on looking as she changed, but he felt deep inside it wasn't appropriate, so he just gulped and turned his back to her, allowing Holly to change into the more appropriate clothing for a hot spring.
He was clearly nervous about the whole situation. "L-let me know when you are done..." he stuttered as he stared at some random point of the place. He even forgot he actually had started looking forward to getting into a hot spring as well, it had been years since the last time he had such an opportunity.

Holly looked over her shoulder as she fully slipped her dress off, a little smile appearing on her face as she saw that he was looking away. She wasn't even naked: she was wearing a white two piece swimsuit. Yet he had done the polite thing and stared away again. Even though she told him he could loom. She appreciated that level of politeness.
Holly folded her dress and set it on the ground next to her shoes. She slipped into the water, letting out a sigh as the warm water enveloped her.
"You can turn around now Galen. Are you sure you won't regret that? You missed quite a view. Most guys woulf their life savings to get a peak at me."
Holly hummed, closing her eyes and conjuring a barrier underneath her. She sat on it, relaxing as the steam billowed around her. She called out to Galen as she settled herself in.
"So these items you mentioned, how willing are you to use them? Earth is going to need a fair amount of capable fighters. Holy seems good for a little bit of extra strength in the field. Senzu beans seem like the most practical and essential item to lose. The Time chamber seems risky to use until we can fully trust someone. I'd like to know all the drawbacks of these items, as well as much as possible in general. I'd also like your imputed on how much you think we should utilize each item."
Holly wanted every possible advantage she could utilize. Earth was sorely outclassed as it was right now. As long as the consequences weren't too severe, she would do what she had to do to keep the planet safe once they revived it.
When he heard her sigh as her feet touched the warm water, he felt like shivers were running down his spine but didn't dare more; he didn't want to be inappropriate considering what happened not too long ago. Shortly after that she said he could turn around and he hesitated for a second, but as he began to turn, she teased him by the fact that he didn't get to see her changing and now she was already inside the water which, although slightly transparent, didn't give such a privileged view he would've gotten before. Galen, still blushed by that, managed to crack a smirk. Although polite and kind, he also had some sass in him and he decided to play it out as she had opened the teasing door. "Well... I did what I felt was appropriate to do, Holly... Then again, I managed to get a view I'm sure most people would die for, so I will say fate broke even with me so far! Hahaha!" he laughed in a sassy tone, but he was still a bit embarrassed and that was clear. "Dear lord, she looks fantastic..." he thought to himself, gulping a bit, but then he stared at the steam coming out of the water and decided he also wanted to enjoy the hot sprint.
"Well, if you don't mind, I will also join you! I haven't been in a hot spring for years now!" he said, cracking a happy smile. Then, he started undressing. He rested his sword on the ground near the water, leaning against a rock and on top of this very rock he folded and placed most his clothes, except for a swimming shorts he had just materialized as he took off his pants. One thing that could be said about Galen was that he was jacked! His muscles were quite well-toned, showing he did train constantly.
However, he had quite a few scars, two of which were quite major. The first one was in his solar plexus and from the looks of it, it was a sword stab. This one was made by Durendal when he fought the demonic sword. The other was on his left chest, smaller and more round in shape, like the one made by a spear and this one pierced right through the heart. It was clear that the scar on his chest was the one who killed him and the sword one, although quite dangerous, it was still something a warrior could survive to.
"Oh, well..." as he approached the water, but before entering, Holly asked about the items. "The ill-effect of using the Holy Water is that, depending on how impure you are, you can either feel a lot of pain that lasts for a day, or even die if your heart is evil. I didn't feel anything but a small stomachache, but Master Arion said it was the first time he saw that..." he shrugged, saying that in a casual tone. "As for the senzu, they don't have any bad effect, but no matter how hard I tried, I could only produce four of them at a time. So I guess that's the downside of it." he said as he approached, placing his feet in the water and feeling that warm and nice sensation taking over his body. "Oh, this feels so nice!" he said, chuckling a bit.
Then he sighed and got back to the main subject. "And the Chamber. The door is usually sealed. To be able to enter it, the Guardian must be sensing some sort of imminent danger. They are all strong, but not as easy to use, for better and for worse." he explained.

Holly couldn’t help but laugh at that. A melodious pitch that rose into the air and graced Galen’s ears. Normally she would have made an effort to be formal about things. But right now she was in the afterlife with the only other soul in earshot was Galen.
“Well you're already dead, so you’ve made your payment in advance. You could have gotten your money's worth. But, I’m glad you didn't. It's rather refreshing to interact with a guy who doesn't stare at your figure every chance he gets.”
And she meant that too. The majority of her dresses were classy, but didn’t show that much of her figure apart from her legs. That was to keep unwanted gazes from being sent her way. With Galen she didn't have to worry about that though. And that made all the difference.
Holly was surprised when Galen declared that he would go into her makeshift hot spring. He had been so polite and shy throughout the entire affair that she honestly thought that he would just stay out there and talk to her from there. She kept her eyes shut even as Galen got undressed, letting the warm water soothe her body.
Holly had been hoping that the drawbacks to the items that Galen had mentioned weren’t too severe. Unfortunately the consequences and limitations couldn’t be brushed aside. Especially the time chamber, which wasn't even in their control. Well, they would just have to make due with what they had.
““It seems as though the senzu beans are the most practical to use. We’ll decide how to distribute the limited supplies that we will have once Earth is restored. The holy water seem to be something that we can just hand out casually. The time chamber can't be controlled, so it's something we should focus on until it allows us to.”
At the sound of Galen’s feet entering the water, Holly opened her eyes, turning her head and looked up at the human. And kept looking at him. His amazing build certainly had something to do with it. Her Jade green eyes were focused on the scars on his torso. She look strangely concerned, considering they were both dead.
““Those scars… they didn't disappear after you died? Will you always have them?”
Holly didn't take her eyes off him. But she did extend her hand and created another barrier under the water for Galen to sit on. He had been right about one thing: she did have more energy here then she did while she was in the living world. She could cast this many spells without it draining her that much. Something which was coming in handy right now.
Even back at his old village, girls always had a problem with guys being way too forward and even pushy. Galen came from a family where he had many sisters, and he learned from a tender age how to treat women in a respectful way. Not only women, as he was kind and polite to everyone, but in a way, that was part of the reason Holly was complimenting his behaviour. He thought about Esther, his only remaining sibling after the massacre of Goddodin, and he sighed, thinking that now she was somewhere in Heaven with his nephews. For her sake as well, Galen had to bring back their home, Earth, and make sure it wouldn't perish again; there were far too many things he had to protect and thus, his sword needed to be sharper and his resolution unshaken, but more than that, he needed allies who believed in the same principle and ideas as himself.
"The senzu beans saved my life more than once. And I'm sure I can grow some of them back when we return, before I claim my position as the Guardian of the world. But I will do my best to find someone who will be able to take up the mantle of Tower Keeper, so I can entrust them with the knowledge and the magical ability to grow the beans. Maybe they can do better than me, hehehe! I never managed to grow more than four of them at once!" he admitted, feeling a bit embarrassed with the low number when he was a farmer himself and should be able to do a better job, but those beans were tricky to say the least.
He did notice the concern in her eyes and that made him gaze toward his own scars and then he chuckled as he remembered both the events. They were very vivid in his mind and he could even feel the phantom pain of those attacks that hurt not only his body, but his spirit. He noticed that she created the platform and he quickly thanked her with a nod and a smile and as he sit on it, he answered her question. "It all comes down to your own sense of self. This first scar here." he touched the one on his solar plexus. "Was when I first faced one of Caesar's minions. His demonic sword, Durendal. He stabbed me through the solar plexus and I nearly died. My Flying Nimbus managed to save me and take me north, where Jie Shan and Cleopatra took care of me. I was in a coma for about six months as they didn't know how to use the senzu I had with me." then he paused and laughed a bit. "Instead of giving me one to eat, Cleo made an ointment. It did save my life, but didn't heal me completely." he added, shaking his head, but he clearly didn't care about it anymore. "The scar marked not only my body, but my soul. And that's why it stays with me, even after death." he added, moving his hand to the other one on his torso.
This one, though, made his smile fade away, and there was even some sadness in his eyes. "This one... It pierced right through my heart. I sacrificed myself and attacked Caesar in an attempt to give Master Jie Shan, the former Guardian. He did manage to hit Caesar thanks to my sacrifice, and that was the reason why he only destroyed the Southern Islands instead of the whole planet so... In a sense, despite not being able to defeat him, it wasn't a complete loss. It was the best we could do considering it was just the two of us." he shrugged, shaking his head. "In any case... Those wounds marked my very soul and that's why I can't materialize a body without them. But I know some people managed to restore their bodies after they died. It all depends on the individual." and that was the best way he found to explain how the spiritual body worked.
"By the way, thanks for making this hot spring!" he changed the subject, getting back to his carefree and happy demeanor. "I tried to resist joining in, but it felt way too inviting!" he said and then he suddenly blushed, gazing away for a second. "I also like to be sharing this moment with her so..." he thought to himself, hoping his face wouldn't reveal this line of thought.

Holly concurred with Galen’s statement regarding the beans. Hopefully they would be able to grow as many as possible to be passed around to essential people. Those beans would indeed save lives if they did everything that Galen claimed they did. And she had no reason to suspect that he was exaggerating their usefulness.
She had no idea that Galen had been through so much. He had told her that he had died multiple times, but to hear him tell her about how she got each scar in detail made it all the more personal. She smiled at the human sadly.
“You’re too hard on yourself, even in death. I’m not one to talk, but if you are hurt so much by every defeat that it scars you even in the afterlife, then you took those loses hard. But… they're a part of you now. The scars of a man who feels the gravity of his failures. You plan on taking responsibility and moving forward to make up for those mistakes.”
Galen seemed to perk up again real quickly though, thanking her for making the hotspring. She noted with amusement that Galen had blushed again before looking away from her. She closed her eyes, leaning her head back and pretended she didn't notice.
“I really needed this after everything I’ve been through. You sounded like you desperately needed it too. I don't understand though… why would you try and resist coming into a hot spring?”
Holly feigned ignorance towards the reason why he had hesitated going in. He had been polite towards her throughout their entire interaction together. He had gone out of her way not to look at her body. Being in here with her probably took a lot of courage on his part. Even now she found his self control rather cute. It was amazing that such a hunk could be this shy.
No matter how much you learn with defeat, it is still a defeat and it will always hurt. Everyone can evolve thanks to the pain, but that does not invalidate the suffering and the trauma. Galen was moving past that, but the scars would be there forever, both in his body and in his heart. But he had the perfect medicine for that and this medicine was hope. Hope in restoring his planet, hope in taking up the mantle of the person responsible for guiding the spirit of the earthlings into enlightenment and hope in the rebirth of the Z-Fighters, the group who made sure Earth could always endure no matter how bad were the odds, no matter how many times evil tried to erase the place and its inhabitants from existence. "They are part of me. They are memories and lessons. They are the reason I will rise and rise again, until lambs become lions. Hahaha... My father used to say that to me all the time, back when our village would be ravaged by bandits. That was the reason I went to the Orin Temple to learn about ki on the first place." he shared a bit of his past, but he didn't talk a lot about it; just the fact that he was opening up so much meant he felt comfortable at her side.
Holly changed the subject later as she asked why he was resisting to enter the hot spring. Galen was caught by surprise by such question and blushed even more, but he glanced over towards her with the corner of his eyes and scratched the back of his head, chuckling a bit in embarrassment. "Oh, well... You know. You are... Comfortably dressed and you are attractive and I'm a guy, so I thought it might be inappropriate to share the hot spring... To be honest, I feel like if I don't look or anything it's fine, in a way, but it's still a bit embarrassing for me." no matter how much it embarrassed him to say those words, he was an honest and upfront kinda guy and he wouldn't be giving excuses or lying if she was bluntly asking him stuff.
Post by Holly Dae Valiare on Aug 2, 2018 15:56:55 GMT -5
Holly’s eyebrows raised when he went further into his own personal life. Galen’s life wasn't that normal in the slightest. Yet he had insisted that it wasn’t that interesting. He really had a strange perception of what normal was.
“So your village had to deal with the normal, everyday problem of bandit raids? That sounds like it was quite an issue. I can't say that I can relate. My father sounds like he was more hand on then yours. He and other Magi taught me magic. I was never allowed to go anywhere without supervision until I was 14.”
Galen still couldn’t look directly at her. She zoned in on his compliments. While she didn't like it when people stared at her, she did like attention on her terms. And right now she wanted all the praise he could throw at her. She smiled over at him, leaning towards him a little.
“Dear me Galen, are you worried something might happen if you look at me? I thank you for both the compliment and your restraint. There's nothing unnatural about it though. There are places that had mixed baths on Earth. I certainly would never go to one of those places, but it isn't unnatural.”
Holly looked away from Galen, straightening g back up, then stretched her arms above her head, arching her back and raising part of her upper body above the water. Even though the steam Galen would be able to see her bra-covered chest fairly clearly.
“Ohhhh, that feels nice. I haven't used certain muscles in a long time. Practicing magic all the time has left me lacking in certain areas.”
Holly kept on stretching for a full minute. Afterwards she rested her arms on the shore, sinking her body back into the water. She still had more above the surface then before: Galen would be able to see the top of her mounds if he cared to look. The Magi closed her eyes, taking a deep breath and relaxing. Right now she had no care in the world.
He could definitely see Holly coming from a very strict family with plenty of restrictions. He, on the other hand, came from a small village and from a farmers background and ever since he was a small child, he was used to quite a degree of freedom, which he cherished very much. Even his sisters were very much free to do as they pleased. As long as the kids did their choirs, they were good in their parents eyes and for that he was grateful. He did miss his village, his friends and his family, but that was such a distant past that sometimes it felt like a real lifetime ago. He got a bit more embarrassed when she leaned towards him, but he stared at her right into her eyes, with a bit of a surprised expression. He opened his eyes to answer her question as if he thought something would happen between them if he was to look at her, but no words came out of his mouth, so he gulped.
She was being a very good sport about that and when she mentioned about the mixed baths on Earth he chuckled nervously. "I... uhn... I heard about it, but I've... I've never been to one of them... Other than... Maybe the river back when I was a child and... Uhn... Still oblivious to the... Attraction... And stuff..." his tone was a bit hesitating as he didn't want to be completely upfront, but he had just admitted, although not completely directly, that he indeed felt attraction for her. She looked away from him to stretch but he was still looking at her and as she stretched, he could see her chest clearly.
If he did believe there was no intenser red tone to his cheeks, he was wrong, as they went above and beyond, but somehow he was paralyzed looking at her. He nodded like a fool when she said the hot spring felt nice and it took him some effort to ignore his own reactions and talk to her. "Er... We will make sure... You tone your muscles... And... You will become better at fighting soon enough..." then he closed his eyes for a second and then sighed before opening them back again. He was growing use to seeing her now and although it bothered him to admit, he was enjoying spending this intimate moment.
"It's good we are able to rest here... And it's good we are getting to know each other better... I'm happy for that!" he shyly smiled at Holly.

Well Galen was completely flustered now. She didn’t seem to react to his practical admission of his attraction to her. Perhaps she was so relaxed in the spring that she hadn't fully been paying attention. Or maybe she had decided to not comment on it.
“You bathed in a river when you were a kid? It seems like you haven't had much experience interacting with the modern world. When we fix everything, I’ll have to rectify that. I think a proper guardian needs to know everything about the planet they’re watching over.”
Holly cracked and eye open, looking over at Galen as she lounged in the hot spring. He was as red as a beet and gazing straight at her. This time he wasn’t looking away. She didn’t mind it though: he had showed such restraint throughout their entire interaction.
“That sounds like a good start. I don't intend on becoming as physical as fighter as you are though. The most important focus point is strengthening my magic techniques. I’m enjoying this moment with you as well. It's a welcome change of place. I haven't been able to relax since I became Queen.”
Something clicked in Holly's mind. She had been thinking of a way to properly thank Galen for everything he had done, or hadn’t done in one case. She realized there was something she could do. Holly scooted over so that she was a couple of feet away from Galen. She was now within arms length of the other human.
“I expect we will spend most of out time training. I’m curious as to what else we could do up in Heaven though. We don't need to sleep or eat I would think. I will admit I don't know as much about this place as you do.”
Holly rested her arms on the shore again, closing her eyes and scooting up just enough so that her chest was above the water. The steam obscured it a little, but Galen would have a pretty good view if he decided to look.
Holly did appreciate how polite and considerate he had been, but she thought that he needed a bit of a reward. They were still covered, so she didn't mind if he wanted to look at her figure. She knew he wasn't going to try anything, so what was there to worry about.
