Mac Cogadh has been training for two years on Namek. Ever since he had met Zither, Cygnus, and Sigma, he’s been getting stronger. The demon dove into the depths of Namek’s aqua green oceans and battled warriors of the deep and giant crabs. He has done this relentlessly and with fun, seeing and enjoying how some of the natives have grown stronger too, giving Mac Cogadh a good challenge. The hybrid couldn’t help but think back to the first time he fought one of the aqua-men.
Mac Cogadh had dived into the aqua green waters, hoping to cool off from making himself a suitable hut on the green planet. He was enjoying himself, finding objects that he had never seen before. Then, off into the murky distance, he saw a group of fish-men, swimming towards him. Mac just watched, not knowing if they were friend or foe. As they got closer, he noticed that they were armed with tridents and spears. Mac floated in the water as the group surrounded him and pointed their weapons at him. One of the people spoke to him, but Mac Cogadh didn’t understand.
The demon could feel that he was running out of air, so he started to float up to the surface. As he did so, the aqua-men followed him up, keeping their spears up. Mac Cogadh gasped for the sweet oxygen that his lungs so desperately needed. The aqua-men’s heads surfaced halfway, their eyes above the waters watching the demon with interest.
“I’m sorry,” Mac said as he finally got his breath back. “I do not mean to tread in your territory and watery domain.”
‘You come from the realm of Demons, Makai,’ a voice echoed in Mac’s head.
“Um…not really.”
‘I can smell your demonic stench. Why are you on this planet?’
“I came here to train and get stronger. I’m part demon and human…”
‘Ah, a hybrid… What other business do you have?’
“To get help back on my homeworld. Or to get strong enough to free my people.” There was silence for a while before the voice spoke again.
‘We will spar beneath the waters. I wish to test your strength.’ Once of the aqua-men slipped beneath the surface and Mac Cogadh followed. The demon noticed that the aqua-man still had his spear, and Mac had no weapon if the creature would attack him. Mac Cogadh watched the creature intently, waiting for it to make a move towards him. The two remained motionless for what seemed like minutes before the aqua-man charged at Mac. The demon tried his best to move quickly in the water and dodged the attack just in time. The creature quickly turned around and jabbed Mac in the back with the hilt of the spear. Mac winced in pain and turned around to face a punch.
The demon quickly blocked it and grabbed the spear, ensuring that the creature wouldn’t stab him. Then, the demon kneed the aqua creature in the stomach; the being lets go of the spear and doubled over. Mac kicked the creature away and then threw the spear away. The demon then used his Banshee Blast attack, forming five small ki orbs on the tips of his fingers and then firing them at the creature. The being was struck by them and was pushed back. Mac could see that the being was hurt badly, so he decided to go over to him. The aqua-man waved Mac off.
‘I’m fine, but you fight really good. You’re welcome to be in this domain, as long as you are hunting or training.’ Mac smiled and gave the creature a thumb up. The other aqua-men swam down to meet their comrade, and they all swam together off into the murky waters.
Mac smiled back on that memory as he stretched his arms by the fire. He was sore from bending down today, helping the natives with their crops, blue-leaved trees that were so few on the planet. The demon could recall back to when he was first told about how few the trees were, and how he would help the Nameks for as long as he was on the planet.
Mac had formed a sword out of his own ki and kicked the tree down, but right before it fell he jumped up and slashed the top of it off. The tree fell with a crash and Mac Cogadh landed on the ground lightly. The demon noticed a blessing and curse to the planet with three suns: it was always daylight which means you could work for longer periods of time, but it was hard to get sleep. Nevertheless, the hybrid took this to beneficial use for now in making his hut. He was almost finished with his small home, all it needed was a roof and a bed and the demon would be satisfied.
He was far from any form of civilization: the Namekian villages were so far off that the power signatures were almost dim to him. But, Mac Cogadh could feel that there were a few signatures at his hut.
‘Could be the natives,’ the demon thought. ‘Better be nice and respectable.’ As he approached his hut, he was right: three Namekians were at his hut, all of them in fighting shape and Mac could tell that they were part of the fighting clan of Nameks. Mac smiled as he approached the three aliens.
“Hello there!” he called to them as he placed the trunk of the tree on the ground. “What brings you here to my--”
“No, what brings you here to our planet?” said one of the Nameks, a bit buffer than the other two, but skinnier.
“I’m just here for some training and to get better before going back to my own planet.”
“That’s not what it seems. You’ve made yourself a home, calling this piece of land yours. You’re cutting down our trees that are so few in numbers. Why?”
“Well, you see, I need a place to stay.”
“What gave you the right to cut down and destroy what is not yours?” piped in the second Namek, his voice deep.
“I did not know that these trees were so few and rare. Please, forgive me for my ignorance.”
“Enough!” said the third. “You will be punished or exterminated for such an act. Whichever comes first.” Mac became serious.
“You do not know what you are doing,” the demon warned. “I would reconsider what you said if I was you. I have been suppressing my power level since I have been here, but not anymore.” Mac let his power level go from two hundred to four thousand three hundred twenty-four. The Nameks didn’t even flinch. They just stared at the demon.
“Do you think that scares us? Our power levels are at least twice yours combined.”
“No, I didn’t think it would, but I got other things up my sleeve that you should be concerned about.”
The Nameks smiles grew and then attacked, one of them extending his arms and lashing out at Mac, the others darting to either side of the demon. The demon jumped backward, away from the arms as they enclosed around nothing. The hybrid wasted no time in picking a target. Mac dashed to the left, tackling a Namek to the ground. He punched the demon, causing him to stumble sideways, but that did not stop him.
The demon kept coming like a freight train, the Namek looking worried. As the demon was about to uppercut his foe, a foot lunged out and tripped Mac. The demon stumbled and landed into a knee that rushed up to his face. Mac stumbled backward and held his nose, apparently broken. The demon chuckled a bit before forming five orbs on each his fingertips. He turned around and fired the five orbs, hitting the first Namek square in the chest and knocking him onto his back. The demon turned back to his opponent, only to see two Nameks before him.
“Come on, make my day,” Mac said, quoting Clint Eastwood. He smiled, remembering his father telling him about that movie. The Nameks charged at the demon just as he bulked up, doubling his attack and decreasing his speed and defense by three. The Nameks hit Mac hard, causing the demon to fall flat on his back. He tried to quickly get up but was slow to get up, leaving him a bit more vulnerable to attacks as they came from the Nameks, slowing him down to get up.
Once he was finally up, the demon uppercut the first Namek that came around him, both attacker and defender going up into the air. Then, at the climax, before they both fell, Mac punched his opponent down into the ground, making the Namek get stuck into the ground as Mac landed lightly. The third Namek charged Mac, throwing ki balls at the demon. The hybrid redirected the balls away from him, some went into the ocean as others went around him; one even went astray and knocked the first Namek back down. When the third Namek was in range, Mac Cogadh formed a sword out of his own ki and slashed upwards, jumping as his opponent came up with him. Once in the air, Mac used his Banshee Blast technique again, sending the Namekian to the ground.
Mac floated back down to the blue earth and landed lightly on the ground. He saw the Nameks getting up as he went back to his normal form prior to the bulking. The Nameks were a bit astonished but were smiling and through the cuts that they had sustained on their bodies. “You’re pretty good,” said the first Namek, “but you are about as powerful a person to kill all three of us if you wanted to if it was a one-on-one match.”
“Let’s make a deal,” the demon said. “I’ll finish with my house and I won’t bother any of you.”
“Only if you help the farmers plant more trees. Sounds like a pretty fair deal to me since you destroyed most of the trees.”
Mac was silent for a few moments until he decided upon his decision. “It’s a good deal. In fact, I’ll continue to help plant the trees and water them while I am on this planet. If I ever leave and then come back, you can sure that I will be helping plant trees.” The Nameks stood up and smiled.
“Good. Then you are welcome to finish your house.” The trio started to leave, but Mac stopped them.
“Hey! Is it alright if we spar again another day?”
“Sure!” they called back. “Any time any of us have the itch to train, we’ll keep you in mind!” Then the left…
Mac smiled back on that memory. He was happy with the memory as he cooked the last of the remaining food that he had hunted for the day before. The demon couldn’t wait for the next day. He didn’t know what was in store for him, but so far, it’s been a bit boring. The aqua-men promised him that they would teach him how to talk to other people via telepathy.
‘Guess I could train some more with the Nameks,’ he thought. ‘Or I could go back to helping the Nameks with the trees…’ Mac continued to think about what his day would be like as he took the giant crab claw off the fire and ate it, satisfying his hunger.
