Saivar Tra Shai'ka "one line quote here"

Personality
A relatively calm and curious being of his people. Once a great warrior of one Saiberias many forest clans. Raised away from the cities of more rich and superior families. With their fall some years past now he has been traveling with only his mount and adopted daughter. Slowly working on his own ship he's tinkered with since before his clans last stand. A hunger for knowledge and new things always growing in his hearts core.
While he some have said can be rough around the edges if agitated. He clings tightly to the old ways and customs of his lost clan. Believes in things of old honor, pride, as well as the power of one's oath. Not shy to a battle nor stupid enough to rush head into certain death. Death not being something he fears but wasted life a tragedy in it's own right.
He has few treasures he holds with more value then all jewels on his home planet. Belongings from his old scattered and decimated clan. Heirlooms he intends to pass on, With hope sometime 'after' he finds a way to restore he's peoples power.
His mind as well in his curious nature is open to many things. Intrigue and a desire to know more about other races of the galaxy, To see the planet's light and warmth of all other places of life in this universe. Wanting to hear their music, taste their food, see their people!
At the moment though he simply wishes to live a good life with his honor intact. As well as to care for his bound mount as well as adopted daughter and now heir to the Emerald Sky Clan. Even if she has yet to truly learn of the past she was never privy to see when she became one of them. Her acceptance into the clan somewhat part of the reasons that brought great mistrust from other clans including those that destroyed them.
His bond to her he believes something though blessed by planet's light, Thus he chose to flee with her when the battle overtook him worried for what fate may have befallen her. While he would gladly accept a true warriors death as many Saiba's hope is how they find their end. He would also carry the weight of a parent. He chose to become the wanderer he is now with the fall to make sure she could continue to live.
He view's himself though as something of a roaming warrior, scholar, and even a wanderer of his people's art, music, history, As well as many other things he seeks in his voyage for wisdom.

Backstory
Born a warrior to one of past powerful forest clans of Saiberia. Saivar was a being who showed a talent for truly miraculous gifts to the Saibamen. Abilities to use ki in ways that were not common nor easy for his people. But he showed a more natural attuned nature to such life energy allowing him to gain a position quickly in status as well respect when it was all put to practice with his people.
The Emerald Sky Clan as they were called for even when some of the most deadly storms of their home planet threatened to break them they never fled to the neighboring clans with walls to cities. But always survived under the green sky and clouds of the deadly storms this planet held. One of the many threats that made this planet hard for most creatures except beasts and their kind to thrive on it for more permanent ideals.
He was granted the title of Tra Shai'ka when he was given a place in the higher circle of his people. A name to honor and respect his powers. Particular the ability to view into far distances. Something he'd discovered on his own allowing him to view distance battlefields. See in coming enemies if he knew where to look. Scouting out lands for harvest, mining, or raiding if their enemies threatened them.
It was this power that graced him with mothers light's blessing as well a step further too. Roughly seven years passed they saw a light in the sky. At first thinking it was some sort of falling rock or one of the rare small meteorites that fall from the sky crashing into the planet. Usually quickly harvested for minerals once the surrounding area ceased with fire.
But with his sight once the main sight of it all had passed. He was able to see it was a crashed ship of some kind. A vessel that had been lightly broken up. It's engines at least what he thought were engines had taken some heavy damage. The image of what he saw as well something that caused quick unrest as the ship wasn't quite in their own borders but it wasn't in anyone else's either.
While Saibamen all over the planet have learned professions and its people have learned to craft with metals, leathers, cloths and many other such things. Their knowledge as far as advanced tech falls sadly short. Advanced weaponry and ships like these were truly more valuable then anything else. Clans would trade a fortune in gems and jewels to outsiders for even at times the most basic of high grade tech. Given even though some Saibamen cities had power it was relatively primitive to what most species were used to in the universe.
They moved quickly when he reported this to the other of the inner circle as well as the elders. They moved with haste and found only resistance from a minor clan that tried to over power them for the treasure without even attempting diplomacy. A thing they quickly regretted when they found themselves at the mercy of the Emerald warriors. Sparing their lives though and allowing them to scurry away. They watched in defeat on the hills far off eyeing the boon they'd lost.
When scavenging like this there was always the chance they'd simply take what was broken and fix that if survivors remained assuming they weren't hostile. Usually keeping some of the tech as payment for aiding them. Although different clans all would have had different ways of handling this. Outsiders were often till skeptical about dealings on Saiberia in most cases back then and even somewhat today for that matter.
But sadly they found only demise of a small crew upon the vessel. He wasn't quite sure what had happened but it looked like someone had attacked them. A total of four bodies had been pulled from the ship and when they weren't able to find much in the way of identifying them they chose to bury them near the spot and send word to one of the larger capitals. If anyone came looking at least they would have some hope of finding information this way at least they thought. They would owe it to these souls the felt after all as the treasures they'd receive from this scavenge were priceless for these people.
The ship wasn't in great shape to say the least but it wasn't completely a lost cause either. They quickly felt or at least had hope it may have had some hope of repair. A working ship within the clan would have raised their status five times in political stature and respect! Even some of the highest cities only had a handful of ships and all of those things they had to trade or spend fortunes worth of jewels or supplies.
Something else they found and reported on as well but much like the bodies no one ever came to investigate making them wonder at times if it was all one large family on board. But what they found was a small infant. A child that had survived purely because it was housed in a chamber of some kind. The best they could figure it was for children of that age to keep them safe on space voyage or perhaps simply cause the baby was still so young.
Unlike them she had bright eyes green like the stormy skies, Hair as red as rays of the sun at sunset or during its rise! An a cry that could deafen the spirits. A crying that only ceased when Saivar took her to his arms...An when she poked him in the eye... Of which garnered a heavy laugh moments after from him and his fellow warriors. This was a survivor, This was a strong spirit, An as such they decided they would care for her Saivar himself more so then anyone else. His little fallen star he called her.
He adopted her and when no one came to claim her with time she became his permanent adopted child and heir to his place in the clans higher circle. A strange idea but respected by the people. But others didn't care for it as they were already jealous of the fact the ship they gluttonously hungered for had been dragged away and hidden somewhere by the Emerald Sky Clan. They used is as a thing to spread poison about the clan. Claiming lies that they were working with humans to empower them over other Saibamen. Or that they intended to threaten the power of all the stronger empires, kingdoms, and clans they could rouse to listen with these new ideas.
Most didn't care what the smaller clans did but those that still remained wounded and wanted the boon from the sky eventually became poisoned with their own jealousy and anger.
One knight they were attacked without warning. Several attacking parties from other communities coming together under treaty they'd share the vessel if they could defeat and steal it from Emerald Sky's people. Being unprepared and attacked with cowardly ambush tactics. The Clan strong as they were were decimated in the battle. Fighting hard but ill prepared in the night hours. But such was the ways at times with the lower societies that didn't have walls, cities, or stronger defenses like the richer cities.
Saivar had fled when the battle was clearly lost with his pride in shards at his feed metaphorically. But what few remained of his clan either died in the battle or fled in their own paths. If not for his daughter he'd have chosen to die on the field with the rest of them. But was drawn to the crying whine of the baby. Eventually fleeing upon the back of his large war boar. His other life companion given he'd never taken a wife it had always been simply him and his brethren and his bonded mount. An then his fallen star of course.
He'd escaped and luckily managed to keep a safe haven that eventually became their home hidden for a time. The ship they'd dragged away made for a nice safe home for just the three of them. It had strong metal walls intended to hold of the dangers of space. An eventually he even got some of its defenses working although he honestly broke more things then he ever fixed most often. Only ever fixing anything thanks to the aid of the monitors he that still kept working.
By the time he was discovered some months later the cowardly war tribes that had ended his people had already lost most respect for such tactics by other powerful clans. An had little hope of actually defeating him now that he had a home that could fire blasters at them if he so chose to allow it to.
In the years since he has raised Star Light or Ist Nala in his peoples tongue. He was able to learn much from the information upon the ships archives. Slowly fixing it with each passing year trading for parts in town when he could. Learning well the language of other people an how to read and write. In turn along with this and many other things able to learn and teach his daughter as well. Fascinated with all he could learn from the information stored away on one little ships data files. While the ship would have never been enough to keep his past clan alive it was perfect for the three of them.
To his light dismay however in recent years he's quickly learned that while he was making sure the child was educated just as often as he was to the best they could arrange... Her people or her species perhaps didn't mature nearly as fast as his kind. Nearly eight years of age now older then he was when he found her and she was just now only lightly able to grasp some of the ways of a warrior. She didn't even show much promise when it came to finding or taming a mount. Although she was nearly his height nearly... An had a appetite like no other.
For now Saivar in these years has gained a warranted reputation as a surviving warrior of a lost people with a strange child and a beastly mount. Friendly to most but severely unforgiving to any that have tried to take or threaten what was his. Knowing he could not risk to much mercy when he was a small force. His goals simply remain to work on this vessel and learn what he can. Maybe if he ever finds a way restore some of his lost honor as well as his peoples. Part of him also feeling a need to see his daughters home planet of her people at least. Both of them more then set in their ways that she -was- Saibamen. But she deserve to know of her history all the same. He could tell her of her heritage from being his daughter but the terminals could only tell her so much of her actual species and home planet... But Plant was a long way off. But they could always dream of better tomorrows.
