Rutaba was taking some time to train his body out in the Eastern Plains on Planet Plant, he hadn't done too much on the planet but it already felt like he had been there for ages. It was definitely a nice change of pace and scenery, and every moment that he spent was definitely fulfilling. Being there with his girlfriend had given him a good bit of ease, and he found himself becoming dramatically stronger ever since he started training around her. Perhaps, having something more to protect and care about had given the Saiyan's body drive to grow stronger, or perhaps the Tuffle's power was a sense of competition for a striving warrior. The latter was probably partially true due to his heritage, but by no means was it what he believed drove him.
His train of thought, however, got entirely cut off as his scouter device started beeping loudly in his fatigues. "What could it be? I hope its nothing serious." the Saiyan mumbled lowly to himself as he reached into his pocket and donned his scouter. It took only a few moments for the message that was being broadcast to him to display onto his scouter, showing that the message was from one of the families that raised him when his parents passed away. "A message from back home, huh?" Rutaba continued on by reading out the contents of the message aloud to himself. "Rutaba, it has been a long time since we've gotten into contact with you, we hope that the Defense Force is treating you well. We heard that you got moved onto Planet Plant, but we need help. Help? I guess this is serious." once more the Saiyan had to cut himself off a bit to think aloud, stopping himself from talking now as he just read over the message in his head now.
Its contents brought up a pair of scientists that had passed away in that community due to unfortunate events during his time away. That was a shame, but furthermore, an orphaned child came about due to such an event. The community, having no way to take care of her for now, wanted to send her to him. "I don't know if I'm ready to take care of a kid... I've been gone for so long." the Saiyan's eyes fell a bit, he felt bad but he sort of had to turn this down. Something caught his notice, though, as he slowly saw the date that this message was sent. "This message was sent so long ago! They probably moved on already to find someone else... but it'd be rude not to answer still. I'll just have to do it and hope it gets back to them soon." Rutaba would sigh a bit, moving to record his response onto the scouter. Little did he know that a much different decision was made due to his lack of response than he had previously thought. [6,240 PL When in her Bio state - Jinjer in her normal form is flavored to be the PL of a child] The beeping of the small pod had been going haywire. A tracker put on it to seek out and land near or about a close distance to wherever the message was scent. Homing in on the active scouter that would have received the updates about the child's status a few dies prior. It had a few tweaks and alterations done to it in her free time before take off and even a few mid transit flight alterations. This perhaps wasn't the safest of mid transit activities but the child hadn't truly felt to of high spirits to think of that of late given her state of familial affairs after all. Instead of simply going to the local ship receiving area it was seeking him out directly! The closer it got a rapid speed of other messages would have likely began flooding the scouter. The problems of strange things happening or the child breaking things. Messages about other problems but each time one was likely read another would have come in if he was keeping track of them planet side.
Last but not least a very loud BOOM would be heard as it broke through the atmosphere careening towards the man if he looked towards the sound. It would appear as if a small falling star in the day or perhaps a small comet as it came burning closer and closer and a extremely alarming rate. It would begin appearing as if clouds of steam shot out all around it in a mist as it came super close as it almost appeared to be some sort of artillery about to hit near the spot Rhutaba would have been standing. But just before it did it'd seem to in a loud second BOOM as the sound barrier shattered again right before it came out and a sudden stop. Emergency breaking triggering and hovering roughly ten or maybe fifteen feet away. It'd slowly lower itself down to the ground. The pod about maybe half the size of a normal grown adults personal ship.
It was clearly messed with and had been given a personal touch here and there. But as it stopped steaming it beeped several times. Then did so again... Then again... A burst of electric light flashed out the side as a small panel came off and it seemed it didn't open at all. A few moments after a series of thumps began to be heard or would have if Rhutaba was listening as if someone on the inside was neither knocking or trying to get out.
While Rutaba was moving to reply to the message he was given, the Saiyan got interrupted time and time again as messages flooded his scouter. "What the" the peacekeeper could only mumble a bit to himself as he'd take the device off and look it over. "It must be breaking, this was supposed to be an advanced variant as well." he sounded a bit defeated as the messages were pouring in too fast for him to actually respond or pour over any one of them. And not too long after, the sound of a pod's rapid entry would break the sky above him. A very tiny power level was within that pod, and it wasn't a power he could recognize. But that wasn't what mattered, would something even survive a crash with how fast that pod was careening down.
Quickly, Rutaba would start to run over towards where the pod was rapidly descending, the loud boom as it broke the sound barrier causing him to move even more quickly. Luckily for him, the pods emergency breaks actually activated and allowed the pod to land with relative safety. He wasn't going to watch somebody burn up and explode mere meters away. With a sigh of relief, Rutaba would approach the pod just in time to hear the faint thumps against the interior of the pod. He hardly had time to take note of the personalized exterior of the pod before his hands were gripped onto the pod, using the excess of his strength to pull the opening of the pod down so that whatever was inside would be let free.
Wiping a bit of sweat from his brow, from a mix of slight panic when he saw the pod entering the atmosphere as well as the force exerted to open this pod from the outside, the Saiyan would move back into view of whatever was inside of the pod. "Are you okay in there? I thought you were going to crash." he leaned forward a bit, trying to look into the pod itself. He had no clue who, or what had come with this pod. But the timing of it was all too coincidental. WC: 363 TWC: 855
It took a couple of moments but eventually the strength applied to try and force open the pod gave results. The door cracked open fully and the sound of whining metal heard along with it. When the seal of the air tight door had finally broken a rush of lukewarm air shot out in a temporary misty fog. The light cloudy mist setting in around the immediate area. The display almost appearing almost ominous out here in the wilds and not in the normal receiving areas of inter planetary travel receiving normally meant for receiving such space vehicles. But the strange vision or creepy image of it would quickly fade as the smog was wafted and waved away by a rather small hand that slowly moments later protruded from the inner shaded exterior of the small vessel.
Slowly soft dark eyes would peek through the mist as a pale complected child would slowly come out coughing lightly. Clearing her through and for a brief moment fighting off a uncomfortable sounding coughing fit. Her hair lightly a mess but vibrant and bright red. Hanging down lightly over her face and seemed to be nearly the length of two thirds her body if not more. Her clothes simple but not cheap either given their brands. She stumbled out lightly feeling a big sick, as well as weary from the flight. She also felt... hungry, But she tried to ignore that for the time being. Although it had become harder to simply ignore and control the longer she tried too. But still she'd press on as she stumbled forward nearly falling at first. Seeming a bit exhausted even though the pod was stocked with enough supplies and more for her journey here. Although in the small waste bin and storage log it'd show all her supplies had been eaten or at least disposed of somehow. Enough for three grown adults to take the same flight she did. That was if anyone actually bothered to notice which in truth wasn't all that likely. Instead she simply stumbled forward tired and stomach growling. Her eyes showing light dark rings and bags under them. In all likely hood the first idea that would have come to mind to those that new the face value of her circumstances it was the grief and tole of space flight combining together for a bit of rush on the weakened mental and physical health of a young girl who'd already been through so much in recent months.
She'd look with hazy eyes and begin to fall forward towards the ground as her head rushed in pain and feinting dizziness. The fresh air lightly overtaking her as well in the moment as she fell forward. Had she made it?... Was this who they told her about? In either case whoever it was would have sensed or scanned only a small girl. Any real power here was hidden in something else burrowed away inside. Something that wouldn't come out and risk itself while the host was so vulnerable.
With the intense fog that poured into the area due to the opening of the pod, Rutaba had to take a few steps back and cover his eyes a bit to even try and peer through its intensity. It didn't take too long before he was able to see the pale look of a small child, sick and weathered from who knows what conditions she had gone through. Everything he read through in the message he was sent, as well as what little he got sporadically at the arrival of this ship, all pointed to this being the girl that was now orphaned. She looked sick, hungry, and tired. There was no way he could send her back like this. Even though he had previously wanted to say no to this girl, it seemed that in the span of only a couple of minutes that he learned about, and was now stuck with this girl he had never met but was from his community.
It was hard to actually place a thought onto this situation, in all fairness. The Saiyan looked upwards in thought, not knowing exactly what to say next but all of that would erase out of his head as the girl started to fall forward to the ground. The girl was small and weak. It only took a brief moment for the Saiyan to catch the girl and lift her up into his arms. This was truly the sight of somebody in need of some serious help. He wasn't extremely smart but even he could tell that much, he was given express status for medical aid as well with his techniques, so he had to be prepared to tell as such.
Looking the small girl up and down shortly, he'd decide that he should try to mend any unseen ailments with ki first. She looked hungry, but were her insides even ready to eat? He couldn't take such a risk. First, Rutaba knelt down so that the girl could lean against his leg, propped up as he'd place a hand onto her head. Within a few moments, his energy would pour into her, seeping through her and trying to jump-start any healing process that her body was already undertaking and expanding upon it even further. It wasn't a lot, but it should at the very least help the girl to feel better.
Once that was over with, Rutaba would move his hand into his fatigue pocket and pull out a fairly large packed lunch. "You got really lucky. Finding someone training out here that could get that pod door open was a gamble on its own, but you also found the one member of a race in the cosmos who likes to eat a lot. Though if you are who I think you are, this wasn't down to luck in the end. Here, you can have my food." the Saiyan did his best to act very hospital. That much was obvious considering he expended so much energy to try and heal the girl. But without too much chit-chat, he'd put the packed lunch into the girl's hands and sit down, letting her get her bearings and all if she hadn't been able to yet due to fatigue and hunger.
It was looking like this wasn't going to just be a one-off encounter, though. Knowing full well that he was going to have to take care of this kid now if this was, in fact, the girl from that message, he had to prepare a lot of stuff mentally for this. It happened far too sudden, just what was he getting himself into?
Despite his mind running rampant with such things, his coal-colored eyes just fell on the girl as he waited to see if she was even comfortable eating. He had no idea what she needed right now, he just had to wait there like a Peacekeeper. WC: 650 TWC: 1,505 Stamina: 3/3 -> 1/3 Remaining Techniques:[EST-2] Medic Protocol - Rutaba once more lays his hand onto a target, trying to save them from any life-threatening injuries and to hopefully ease their pain. She was exhausted, hungry beyond belief... Those who'd been looking after her earlier had wondered if this strange way she had to eat so much so often and easily seemed overtaken by it as well might have been some strange negative effect with how her Saiyan and Tuffle genetics had been intermingling with each other. If anything she had to the same amount if not far more then a average adult saiyan. She took a few moments to even register she'd been picking up. Feeling tired but more in a exhausted sense then actually being sleepy. The fresh air was nice at first but the longer she was out she felt a rush of pain in her head. She wasn't in any danger but she would need sustenance soon and a place to safely rest from her long wearisome journey.
She didn't answer at first merely nodded looking as if a fearsome headache was weighing her down. Her head lightly slumped as she slowly accepted the lunch without much words unwrapping it and slowly beginning to nibble away with it as with each but she felt a inner sensation wanting her to just devour it like a animal or some monster. But she'd resist only causing her head pains to ache at her more in the resistance to her inner urges. She felt her lip curl lightly as she resisted the urge to growl but quickly for the time at least sating her urges to eat. Slowly devouring the meal in small bits but before long putting away nearly the whole thing which seemed a bit of a reach for someone of her size given she even looked rather thin even for her age.
"I was messing around with the Navigation... So it'd find who I was supposed to met up. I was hoping it'd track their tech properly instead of having to land at one of the local ports...." She'd say in a soft voice chewing lightly on a bit more of a food and leaning her side on the male for a moment. She'd seen a picture of him at least already and knew at least she was pretty sure this was the right guy. She felt the fatigue lift lightly as her body started kicking back into gear. She'd just have to fully sate the urge later when she had something better at her disposal to do so with. "It worked though... For the most part."
Luckily for the man, the girl didn't hesitate to actually eat. It'd be worrisome if she declined it or anything. He idly watched for a while as he waited for her to finish as much of the food as she was going to eat to start. It was no surprise that she must have been part Saiyan from his old community even if she didn't entirely look like it, so she probably needed a lot. He sort of sat silently until she started to speak for herself, nodding to himself a bit as more and more this seemed connected to what he assumed already.
No matter what way he spun it, this was the girl from that message. They sent her to him even without a response and must have thought it was fine to do that. It wasn't very responsible, they had no idea what sort of stuff he was getting into over here. What if he was in the middle of some major fight and needed all the focus he could get, only for her to crash into the middle of it all? She felt like she couldn't defend herself in such a situation. Luckily for both of them, his time on Plant was as relaxing as it could be.
As such, he couldn't be too upset about this whole situation. But now he had to take care of this little one while also balancing his life with Demalia and Peacekeeper duties. "Well, I got a message about you just before you arrived. So I'll say you found who you were looking for." he rubbed the back of his neck in thought a bit idly, thinking more on what exactly he had to do now. The Saiyan slowly stood up from his spot now, looking around a bit before reaching his hand down to the girl. "Anywho, it seems like we're going to be together from now on, so we may as well properly learn more about one another. My name is Rutaba. I work for the Sadal Defense Force, so I'll have to leave to do Peacekeeper work here and there. And uh... I'm mostly here on Plant because of a girl named Demalia, you can meet her later though she's not around at the moment. She and I spend a lot of time together so you'll have to get along with her as well." that was about as much as he could say to her about himself for now. Honestly, the biggest factor in all of this was Demalia. They were just dating for now and bringing in a kid that neither of them has a history with to take care of could be taken poorly. But she was a kind girl, he had to hope it would go over okay. It'd be something to worry about when it came up. WC: 475 TWC: 1,980 Stamina: 1/3 -> 2/3 Remaining
She grumbled a bit holding the last of the food bits close as it sounded like the inter planetary messaging had lagged hitting some sort of issues. It wasn't necessarily uncommon but it didn't happen super often either. But she did feel her irritation grow at what seemed to be even more problems likely getting thrown on top of all this as he explained that. But she felt so tired it seemed more like a groaning sick child then an actual angry being. Chewing slowly with a furrowed brow trying to settle her stomach as best she could with this tasty meal. Letting out a heavy sigh as she wanted to sleep as well now.
She seemed to sigh as he explained himself and his life that she'd metaphorically and literally crashed into today. It felt a little heavy on her inside like a small weight on her shoulders with each new thing he added on that already was part of his busy life. She felt dizzy looking up at him trying to digest all of this wondering if this was just a momentary stop in the chaotic and horrid ride that had been her life in recent weeks. "Sound's like your really busy... I'm Jinjer... If your Sadal defense force then why are we on Plant?" She'd ask almost with a bit of snark raising a eye brow looking up at him. Coughing a few moments later with a light soreness in the back of her throat.
Rutaba would break his very slight train of thought about Demalia and how she factored into this new situation, changing to look at Jinjer once more with a cock of his head. She seemed really young... would he have to teach her a lot of things about the universe? There was a possibility, but he sure didn't mind. He'd smile after, deciding to answer her up front. "I'm not too extremely busy. Honestly, this life is pretty peaceful for the time being... I spend most of my time training and you can always tag along for that stuff so I can watch over you. I just know I should warn you ahead of time that I might need to run out at times." with his foot tapping on the ground a bit in thought, he had to explain all of this as clearly as possible. But it wasn't too hard. Next up he'd just have to tell her about the Defense Force.
"As for the Defense Force, we don't operate on Sadal alone. We're Peacekeepers who help wherever we are needed. I applied for a mission of sorts here so, for now, I am deployed on Plant." he crossed his arms a bit as he thought of what exactly he should say next. There wasn't much to actually add on about the topic thinking about it a bit more. Seeing how tired and sick the girl was, however, was enough for Rutaba to decide that they should at least get out of the middle of nowhere. Seeing as his training session was all but null now, the Saiyan would reach out a hand to Jinjer with a soft smile on his face. "How about we get you somewhere a little bit more comfortable. You need to get some rest as soon as possible anyway." he'd wait for the time being, seeing if the girl even trusted him enough to go wherever he planned to go. This was such an odd situation in the first place. WC: 335 TWC: 2,315 Stamina: 2/3 -> 3/3 Remaining
She felt lightly dizzy but after eating and sitting for a few moments in the fresh air things at least calmed lightly within herself. The inner beast and whispers slowed with her hunger momentarily settled. She took a deep breath as well of the fresh air now longer stifled by the pod and its canned air that had given her a strange headache. The long time of space travel in a air tight pod had a way of exhausting the mind as well as the body. Her small body not having handled as well as perhaps a much more powerful adult. She seemed somewhat dizzy as she listened to Rhutaba explain things to her. A hand lightly wiping her eye with the back of her hand.
She felt lightly dizzy as her vision was lightly blurry as some mild aftereffects still of the long space flight she'd just been through. "Where will you take me though... This new planet is kinda scary. I've never really been anywhere but home before and now I'm light years away..." She'd say feeling a moment rush of shy and sadness. Sniffling as she tried to stifle back her years as thinking of home only made her think of her unfortunate situations. Her family... She sniffled again tearing up lightly trying not to cry taking Rhutabas hand as her tears suddenly began to cry and the back of her free arm went over face and eyes as she started to cry. Her emotions spilling out as now that the journey was over things started to spill out in her tired state.
It seemed that Rutaba wasn't considering every aspect of this girls dilemma. The sadness and shy tone in the girl's voice, as well as her truly saddening words, made the Saiyan look down upon the girl in a bit of curiosity. Then, she started to sniffle and tear up. He was about to reach out with his other hand as she took hold of the one he offered to her, but she actually started to cry then. She obviously wasn't taking this well... but what could Rutaba really do? He guessed instinct just had to take control.
With the hand she had given him, he'd hold her firmly with his grip, before kneeling down in front of her. His other hand slowly moved up and rested atop her head, ruffling her hair a bit messily as he just tried to smile at the young girl. "You've gone through so much... haven't you." Rutaba spoke really softly and caringly, trying to not make the girl more frightened or sad by speaking so firmly or roughly. He had to act more like a father here than some random guy she just met, even if that was partly the case. However, there was much more here going on that could connect the two.
"We're cut from the same cloth... you and I. That community used to be my own before I joined the Force, they took care of me after both of my parents passed away. Now it's time for me to do the same for you." after saying that, Rutaba's hand moved down from the girls head to her hand that was covering her face, trying to move it down so they could look at one another. "I know you're far away from home now, but this planet is safe. The people here are called Tuffles, and they are all really short so you might see eye to eye with even their tallest individuals. As for where I'll take you... I'll have to ask Demalia if you can stay at her place. It's a really huge manor at the top of a tall building, its the fanciest home I've ever seen and it'll be really comfy for you to rest in okay? Would you like that?" for now, he'd wait to listen to her answer to all of this. It was a lot to take in, he was sure. But as he waited for her to speak up, if she would allow him to, he slowly reached out his arm to wipe her eyes with his sleeves to try and clear up her tears. WC: 432 TWC: 2,747
