Gelus really didn't understand why or what he had done to deserve for all this praise? He had helped someone because it what you where meant to do right? It's what considered the normal thing to, he was simply following the general rules, he just couldn't get behind where any of this where coming from. "I.. Well, I don't understand why one would not help, is it not natural to want to help others?" He asked, genuinely wondering or not. "Besides those people back-k there where.. Well, they weren't not going to be missed? I presume." They said in a colder tone, looking at the window to the outside.
He continued to watch as the two nice older people finished there work, a bit less on edge when Rukkora had awoken and didn't seem to be in form of large amounts of pain. He took a seat beside Rukkora, hands folded as he tilted his head to get a better look at him. Yeah, he looked less pale by this point, even if he did mention a bit of pain, this was a lot better the beforehand. "It was just what.. People should do...?" He said, a bit slow as he thought of each word carefully. He was surprised even more as the young Sayian put his hand out. He tilted his head, this was another form of friendlilness right? Well then, he took the boy's hand, his grip was a bit weak but it was there, and he was trying. "It just good to see that, uh, well that your alive."
The rain had started to pick up and the thunder was loud enough to make the knickknacks on the shelves wobble to and fro. Gelus may have felt like he was being overcompensated, but to his grandparents he may as well returned their daughter to him. It made Rukkora sick when his grandparents behaved this way, as if they really believe something happened to his mother. The young man knew for too long that his mother simply abandoned him. He’d just wished they’d stop getting their hopes, especially after all of these years. “Nnngh,” he groaned in pain before trying to sit up a bit.
"Well trust me not everyone is as nice as you think. You're alright in my book Gelus, we should kick it sometimes. You know? Hangout when you know I'm not halfway bleeding to death." The boy painfully joked about his injury, before allowing his head to slam back into the pillow. He sighed looking out the window with his vision obscured by the couch. “So what are you going to do now Gelus? I remember you saying you’ve handled far worse men than the ones from today. Are you a bounty hunter or something?” Rukkora unwittingly prodded Gelus for answers about his personal life.
Gelus would jump up a bit as the lighting would thunder down, only to calm down a few moments afterwards when he realised nothing was actually happening, the young man was seemly jumpy and anxious by nature, for whatever reason was unknown. He'd frown a bit as the things start to move about on the shelves, wondering if something where to break, and if so, would anyone even bother to care? Gelus unlike Rukkora was honestly impressed by how prepared his grandparents had been of all things, he didn’t know why but, it nice to see how much they cared about him this much.
"...Kick, kick it out?" Gelus repeated, extremely confused. "...I'm ...sorry?" He paused awkwardly. "I don't know what that means..." He frowned, watching as the boy pained sat back into his pillow. Gelus clearly didn't get this way of speaking, and could only give a more unsure looked the more it was spoken. Then he started pressing on the job more, and Gelus's facial features becoming colder. The kid clearly had no idea what he was asking, but it was a question, and Gelus could only answer. "Yes, I, hunt men, very bad men whose deeds are more inhumane then you could imagine, and people who are better off the streets, dead or alive." He replied, no tone to his voice. "My job is... Harsh, but it is how I am raised, and what I will continue to do." He said, putting his long hair up in a low hanging ponytail to keep it out of his face, the broken horn becoming more apparent.
"Pfft," he tried holding in his outburst of laughter. He didn't think the slang he spoke would be so foreign to his new friend. "Sorry Gelus. Okay, so look when I say ‘kick it’,” the boy stretched his hands out in order to use air quotes. “I really mean hangout you know, do some stuff together that’s weird you’ve never heard that before. Hehe.” He interlocked his fingers and tucked them under his head, as he continued looking out the window. He could see content in his new friends’ eyes. It didn’t seem like it was a sensitive topic, but the air in the room went very cold.
“That’s pretty deep man I can respect you for your line of work. You’re just trying to make the world a better place, in your own way nothing wrong with that at all. I know it probably wasn’t as easy when you first started though.” He prodded as he watched him pull his hair back into a ponytail willingly exposing his broken horn. “So I take it that happened on one of your jobs huh. You don’t have to explain it to me I could tell when we met it hurts to show.” He empathized while readjusting his body on the couch. The pain killers were starting to set in making the pain more bearable.
“I’d like to help you out there, after today if something really happened to my mom. The best way to find out would be investigating it myself.” He tried keeping his composure as well as his voice down. He was sure his grandparents were preparing for bed. He also didn’t want them to interfere with his decision with bringing them closure. “So what do you say Gelus? Make me your partner it’ll make your jobs much easier at that. You’ve only seen a fraction of what I can do. I can definitely make it worth your while.”
Gelus just, kinda sat there, still rather confused what any of theses words meant as Rukkora continued to speak. Oh, hang out? As in spend time together? Oh, oh, well, Gelus didn't know how to respond to that. Was it more of a respect, or was it a demand? Either way Rukkora had asked and by his nature, Gelus would of course say yes. "I didn't - don't tend to... Get out much, I guess you can say..." Gelus explained to Rukkora as he mentioned he lacking of his understanding of such phrases. Gelus had never left the house as a child, unless it was a mission, and it effected his social abilities greatly.
As the entire subject of Gelus and his work kept coming up, the demon become more and more uncomfortable but he felt he needed to keep talking, Rukkora was seeking answers from him after all. But the Saiyan may of hit a hard point as he asked about the horn. He'd pause for a second, his hand slowly tracing the remains of what had once been around the broken based off the blue horn. His almost seemed, sad, lost in thought for a few minutes, but that slowly faded away as he mad eye contact with Rukkora. His features where more neutral again, and he removed his hand from his head. "...My father, did this, no mission, he ripped right from the r-root..." His voice was soft, and it wavered, but he spat it out.
But as Rukkora brought something else up, his answer was almost predecided as he snapped back into reality. "No, please don't." He replied in a gentle."I apologise if this seems harsh but... I rather you not deal with my problems, and while I'll happily help you in aiding whatever you need to find your mother, I need... To be truthful with my work here Rukkora.."
"..I-I am a hitman, people pay me to kill others, and while from here on out, I only choose those who I deem unforgivable, I have killed many people who where all two innocent in the past. I have hurt people, and taken others away from them, I appreciate your.. Enthusiasm I really did but I'm not a good person Rukkora, and there's nothing else to add to that. I don't want to drag you into my danger" He put it simply in a hushed tone, hoping no one else overheard him.
..He wondered what kind of monster he seemed like now...
Rukkora wouldn’t continue using slang when speaking to Gelus, it did seem to start to confuse him. The older gentleman mentioning he didn’t get out much, and it most certainly showed. Rukkora wouldn’t continue to poke fun at him, noticing that his entire face went somewhat blank. It looked as if he were trying to find the words to explain the story behind his horn. Oddly enough, it was a shor t. Seems like Rukkora wasn’t the only person with a scumbag parent, but he could only imagine how traumatizing it was for that to happen. Rukkora learned sometimes traumatic experiences like that can shape a whole person’s life if significant enough.
He didn’t like making people uncomfortable, but he could see it in Gelus’ eyes that he was beginning to get to the nitty gritty. The horn may have been the boiling point, but the kid really blew the lid with asking to become his partner. For some reason Gelus didn’t see that Rukkora in fact was indebted to him, practically owing him his life for his selfless act. “Maybe I didn’t want you to deal with my problems Gelus. Did you consider that? I doubt it much, but you did and you know what that means, I’m indebted to you for saving my life.” He frowned upon Gelus determined to get him to understand.
“So what that you’re a hitman, it’s a living isn’t it. Sure better than running around with those thugs, and maybe you have hurt innocent people. We don’t live in a world where things are all black and white, and that most certainly includes people. I just want to help and protect you, the same way you have done for me.” He chastised Gelus while wincing in pain, as he brought himself to his feet. Surprised that even while he was barefoot they were roughly the same height. Rukkora reached over placing his hand on Gelus’ shoulder.
“You aren’t really a bad person. You’re selfless resolve has inspired me to change the world for the better. Isn’t that something you want Gelus? Isn’t that something we all would like? There may only be one road ahead, but with the right plan, anything's possible” He hoped Gelus would take a glimpse at him.

All Gelus could down was frown, looking away as the kid had made a good point. Rukkora was right. Maybe he didn't want Gelus's help, maybe this was a stupid idea, maybe he should of never gotten involved. But theses thoughts where set aside when he mentioned in depth to him? As in? Rukkora owed Gelus? Owed him what? Gelus didn't quiet understand, but he did understand that saving someone's life meant a lot more then it did to take one. "I..I know, that I did something for you but, maybe just, this would be enough for me, maybe... I don't wish for anymore then knowing I did a good thing once then all the other horrible things I've done." He sighed, putting his hands through his hair.
"And listen, while you may be in in depth to me, I-I still feel I owe something to, this world? Theses people? While I've done terrible things to innocent and evil people alike, I always new I was never the one making theses choices for myself, it was my f-father, never my own wants." He said in a sad tone, arms folded. "And for once I can be my own person, and I want to decisions that don't end in as much suffering as I caused for others." He continued as he faced Rukkora directly.
He twitched a bit as Rukkora grabbed his shoulder, but for once it wasn't in a hostile manner, so, he tired to relax himself. "...B-But if you do want to help me, we could think of something, just m-maybe uh, not right now." He said, noting the pain that Rukkora seemed to be in, still looking at him, his face softening. He didn't know to respond to this exactly but it felt? What was this feeling? That feeling that you could inspired someone to do something? He didn't know what it meant but, it was enough to make him feel something vaguely positive for once.
It was just as Rukkora thought, this man really was a selfless soul. While it might not have meant much to Gelus, the young boy was starting to look up to him for his motives. “You know I respect you for that man. Not willing to accept anything from anyone for your deeds, it’s actually inspiring you know.” Rukkora gave him a big smile as he flopped back down on the couch. “HYAAAAAAGRH!” He shouted the moment his butt hit the couch cushion. The act of him sitting down practically hunching over caused him a great deal of pain due to the muscles in his abdomen contracting.
He took a few short breaths before the pain subsided as he laughed off his mishap. “Whew. Listen man, you don’t owe the world anything. What you do owe to yourself is wanting to change yourself to be a better you. If you’re willing to do that then the whole world will love you for being a good person. Hell you’ve already started with me and my family.” He laid back down on the back, his ears resonating with the sound of raindrops pitter patting on the balcony. The sound of rain was always a good way to help him unwind. “Well what you going to do now. I’m sure you have a job to do soon, but if you need a place to crash you can always come here. Whatever you’re going to do just let me know, because I think I’ve finally worn myself down hehe.” He chuckled as his eyes closed shut and he fell into a deep sleep.
Gelus tilted his head as the young man kept talking. He really wasn't a selfless person, but, at least Rukkora seemed to be getting something out of this emotionally? Pain aside. He flinched a bit as the poor kid groaned, wondering if he should even be up like this, but it wasn't his choice to tell what Rukkora to do, besides he was capable of taking care of himself? Or, what he showed in the alleyway was that he was a reasonable fighter...
...Maybe one day, with someone to train he could become a great warrior. But Gelus wasn't that person, really he wasn't fit to have Rukkora trust him in anything.
He said nothing as Rukkora continued, but he sat, and he listened and he took everything he said into consideration, even just for a moment. He could maybe stay here? No, no he may attract trouble, but if he ever maybe needed food or something, he'd think about it if he become desperate. As the rain pour would down, he'd watch the other Saiyan drift off into a deep sleep. He would sit up for a bit, maybe would be the time to leave? Yeah, that seemed like a good idea. He'd creep up, softly and slowly, easily making no sound as he'd always been trained to do. "....Keep your head up kid.." He'd mutter as he head for the nearest exit.
He would slide the window open, just enough to let himself out into the cold rain, dropping off into the night below. The wind would slam the window, almost making seem as if he was never there in the first place...
...And with that everything was reasonably quite, all but the sound of wind and water sliding down city streets as a figure would walk among the channels, and a young man dozed off a couch, a unforeseen friendship had been forged, and an odd one at that.
