Chapter VI: Tournament of Dawn
So, this was who he was to be now.
How had he gotten himself so wrapped up, so dissolved in what was once supposed to be a bright future. Anima, a life ready to go to battle at any moment’s notice, now gone. They were all gone, and he had to find them. He held no idea where to start, where to go, but he had to start somewhere. Sine just didn’t know where that somewhere would be. He needed to make money, that was the first thing he needed to do. He needed to get himself set up so he could continue with thriving and growing. The more he could grow perhaps the better he could control this. Even now, as he wore his hood over his head. Trying to cover his mutation as much as he could walking down these streets. He spotted a sign posting with an advertisement.
~~~ Combat Tournament Today! Meet at The Common Square today to win the Grand Zeni Prize!
Only Restrictions are no killing, and to go full out! This means no weighted clothing for those of you who think they can hide their power! Weapons are allowed but must be blunted and may not be used to kill. ~~~
Seeing this, reminded him of the small games they had in the village. Maybe, this wouldn’t be a bad idea after all. If he could grab at even the tiniest of moments to remind him of there. At the gain of maybe winning the money he needed. Honestly, he was running out of reasons to really refuse to do it. Maybe it was the stress of it all, the pressure of trying to keep his mind at bay. He felt his legs begin to move on their own. He was just going to have to try and not use the new powers he had gained. Their cost on him was too much for him to really fight against yet. There was no guarantee of a perfect control of it when the heat was to ramp up. If he wasn’t to try though, he would never know.
That Saiyan he was to stop, the one who desired Saiyan dominance. He had told him to bring his best shot. If he couldn’t control that now. How could he ever aspire to be that symbol of hope he had told Lotuce. As much as he hated the guy, it was his own motivation that was pushing him to keep growing. That was why he showed here at the town center, a special arena set in place, with warriors slowly arriving. As he left his name at the ticket label he began to gaze down, waiting to hear who his opponent would be. Although still new to them, he could feel the energy of those around him, the ki coming from them. There were some strong people here.
“So, are you all here just for the prize money as well or something else entirely.”, he would simply ask around as he pulled his hood off. The purple streaks of hair, the left side of his face that was marked by a dark gray skin. The one purple eye, all of it now visible as he left his blade in its sheath. His ki, while suppressed, was a strange mixing, the elemental aspects of the elemi, and the firey Saiyan blood that ran in his veins. This tournament…was something he had to overcome.
WC: 600
PL: 20,210
HP: 50,525 / 50,525 Currently [PT-1] Suppressing PL to 10,105
Lotuce had heard of the tournament, he heard that it would be a good place to not only test out his skills but also to earn some cash if he could win it. He had been thinking of what he would do with the money if he had won, when suddenly the idea that he did not even know the total zeni he could win from this shindig. He sighed as he walked up to the registration, he had heard that there were no weighted clothing items allowed so he had removed the weights of his clothing and placed them into a capsule he had acquired for them.
He then signed the sign in sheet and walked towards the special arena, his Ki Senses stretching out far and wide as he did. He could feel the various warriors, but so many were clustered and preparing for a fight that he could not quite get a feel for their true power levels. This was going to be good, a chance to fight strong people and see just how far he had come, as well as a chance to go all out? What more could a Saiyan warrior ask for, in his ideal version of Sadala this...this would be more normal.
Lotuce would begin to stretch himself, his white pants barely touching the ground, the gray boots with gold trim being used to help him gain leverage as he stretched his legs. His pants were cinched with a light blue belt that was tied behind his right hip. After he stretched his legs, he began to stretch his shoulders, the sleeves missing from his blue denim jacket with a darker blue fabric shirt beneath it and the red arm bands covering up most of his forearms, from just past his wrists to just below his elbows.
He then felt a Ki that felt familiar...tainted, but familiar, he could not quite place it, there were so many people here that scanning the crowd would be pointless, that much he knew. He could only hope that he found the familiar person in the ring, and could see just who it was. Lotuce’s black spikey hair now blowing with the wind towards the south east whilst he faced to the north, wondering how long it would be before the fighting started. His blood began to boil with anticipation and eagerness to start throwing punches.
“I wonder who will be the first mortal to catch these hands...” Lotuce looked down at his hands, as he said that aloud, his power level starting to spike towards his maximum but not quite hitting that fever pitch, no he had not yet been in a fight that forced him to go all out yet, not even against that Saiyan boy with the sword...He began to wonder if that child was here, if he was going to be a hypocrite who fought for the sake of fighting or if he would be the fool he was and avoided the ring like it was some sort of disease.
Lotuce then finished his stretches by curling his back in an almost unnatural direction, his hands on his hips as he had done this. He was now ready for the fighting to begin, but to make sure he began to bounce on his feet a bit, throwing a few punches at no one in particular, wanting to get the show on the road already. His eagerness was overflowing, the smile on his face massive as he wondered what kinds of techniques he would see out of the various fighters on this day...
It seemed like a regular day for the robotic lady as she explored the capital of her home planet, Sadala. She had just gotten back from a spar with Arti, her best friend who also happened to be walking alongside the android at that moment in time. Arti was slightly worn out, while Diane was still as peppy as ever, being the android she was. They both made small talk, oblivious to the fact that a tournament was about to take place in the Common Square.
"Jeez, Diane. You've been getting so strong so quickly. Literally, you've been progressing a lot quicker than anyone else I know. What's your secret?"
It was no lie. Diane has been making rather large leaps in power recently, much like she did when she was younger. Perhaps it had something to do with her being an android? No, that didn't make much sense. It didn't matter, anyways.
"Oh c'mon, we both know there's no secret! I- wait.... look at this!"
The tournament advertisement had caught her eye. A tournament where no one is holding back? That sounded like a once in a lifetime opportunity to Diane. There are no limits, no bars, no roadblocks, no holding back. She normally had to hold back while sparring with her friends, but at this tournament, she could fight at her best. Diane thought about the fans, the fun, the fighting, the money! Further inspection would reveal that a grand prize of zeni would be given to the warrior that emerged victorious over all other contenders. She doubted that she'd win, but there's no reason as to why she couldn't have fun.
"This looks amazing! Sign me up! You coming?"
"I don't think I'll participate, but I got nothing better to do today. I'll spectate. Knock yourself out."
"Great! Let's go!"
After that, Diane could be seen skipping along the path to the Common Square, dragging Arti behind her.
And that.... Is how she got here. She stood amongst the competitors after she signed up, smiling the whole time. She could feel the energy pulsating in the air around her, the competition not bothering to suppress their power levels. There was no need for them to do so, anyways. It also gave Diane an opportunity to size up the competition. A certain hooded figure stood out from the crowd, his ki signature feeling.... familiar. Very familiar. It was none other than Sine, the saiyan she had helped to save.
As he lifted his hood, she could tell that he hadn't changed a bit. The purple streaks in his hair, the odd coloured eye, the pale half of his hair, yep. That's Sine. He had already put forth the question when she approached him.
"Hiya, Sine! I didn't know you'd be participating. While I am here for the money, I'm also here to have fun!"
It was then that her attention was drawn to a certain, cocky, confident individual. His power level spiked to a certain degree, being much stronger than majority of the competitors for a split moment. His smile screamed 'punch me', as he let these words come out of his mouth:
"I wonder who will be the first mortal to catch these hands..."
Mortal? Mortal? Who did he think he was? He was just another saiyan. No different than anyone else at the tournament. He was just another rich jackass who probably went through life by stepping all over everybody he came across. Hell, he probably didn't have any friends! He needed to taste the ground, he needed to eat dirt, he needed to-
Ugh, calm down, Diane. There's no need to get worked up over a simple comment. He'll be taught his lesson soon enough.
Her annoyance was extremely visible. She frowned, while wearing an angry expression. Eyes rolling, she turned her attention back to the saiyan boy.
The time had come finally. The Tournament had been put on notice even in the large castle of the Saiyan King. It was tradition for Royals to watch the powerful warriors fight it out for the pleasure of the Kingdom and the King and Queen. However this Prince had other plans. Raijin was among the warriors there, primed and ready to enter the tourney. Not that he needed the money, however he would never deny it. He wanted to honor in proving his worth in battle, to show that he was good enough to be considered for the Second in Command position.
He came there by himself, as there was no need to come there with an entourage. Though he instantly noticeable. The Prince of the Saiyans had arrived in the town center. He moved through the crowd of surprised faces. Some were shocked that he was making his way to the sign in table. Wearing the Saiyan Sadal Defense Force armor, with a red cape of the royal insignia branch. His sleek black hair was much like many of the Saiyans.
But he had a dark secret which set him apart from his brethren. Having come into realization only few months ago. It was best he kept the side of him quiet. The Saiyan Prince was elated to find that that the sign in process was pretty straightforward. Walking forward he gave his name and other information. Though they were aware, he still had to follow regulations. Those who could sense power levels would notice he was had some power on him.
Though he was suppressing his level, there was no need to show his true power yet. However as he was waiting by his lonesome. There was a sudden outburst from a strong looking Saiyan.
“I wonder who will be the first mortal to catch these hands...”
Raijin's eyes spotted him in a moments notice. He focused his attention on the Saiyan, whom seemed pretty confident in his abilities. This thinks himself the alpha here. Raijin flared his power to a little bit over half in anticipation. He would hope that he was paired with him. To prove his own power, he would have to defeat all newcomers and powerful warriors. Some of them would be fellow Sadal Defense warrior.
The Prince waited for the table to start letting them know who they were going against first. He was always ready for a fight. He only hoped that his father was not aware of him leaving the castle to join the tournament. It was frowned upon, and he would be due for a bigger fight the moment he returned back home. Though he was aware they would televising the event as well. He sighed as he turned away from the Saiyan who had begun to do some warm-ups as they waited. Raijin looked around and saw a woman and a another boy talking. They seemed like they were also contestants as well. He would be glad to see everyone in battle.
