Dynasty of House Flormai
Name: Dynasty Flormai
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Race: Human / Elemi Hybrid
Homeworld: Earth
Starting Planet: Earth
Appearance:
A man with a bit of defined muscle standing at 6 feet tall, Dynasty has a bit more of a slim build than most though he does his best to keep growing stronger over time. When he talks, he speaks in a respectful manner with a deep voice that hasn't seemed to be really roughed by aging yet. Over his left eyebrow rests a scar, deliberate in it's shape as it trails down just short of the eye. Along with that, there are some scars on his arms and legs that have healed over a bit since his tumble down the cliff. His eyes are a dark brown, though most wouldn't know because he has trouble making eye contact with others. His hair is a lighter shade of black and typically is in a messy fashion, the former hero having long since stopped caring about getting it the way he used to wear it. Under his clothes, a scar running diagonally along his chest resides as a reminder of his failure for him to endure.
His clothes, along with the traditions of his people, are very similar to the clothes the first hero of his tradition wore. This is because with each passing century, the clothes of the hero are committed to a sanctuary as a means of preserving them and so people know how the design should look for the next hero. While his clothes are not the same as the original hero's very own, they carry the same meaning and serve as a symbol to his people to show he will protect them. His sword, rather carefully made for him, is similar in that it is a replica of the one the original hero used but with some minor alterations. His sheathe is metal with some intricate engravings on it, mostly a symbol that has been chosen to represent each hero before Dynasty. This is to symbolize he carries the strength of all of them at his side.
Backstory:
Balance is the foundation of life. For every villain, there will be a hero to extinguish their evil. For every hero, there will be a villain to slay their benevolent hearts. One may conquer the other during one time, but they both shall always meet in some shape or form. These are ancient teachings that are passed from each generation to the next in a series of villages that are located relatively near each other. While the rest of the world chose to continue progressing and moving on with time, these villages instead turned their back in favor of retaining their tradition. And because of these traditions, two children would be chosen once every century in order to fight in order to maintain this balance. The victor would have their words become law and all of the villages would follow them in whatever pursuit they were after. When Dynasty was born in his village, a noble son, his parents were asked to make him the avatar for the hero they so desperately needed soon. They were hesitant, but they reluctantly agreed and he was marked with a scar over his left eyebrow, a symbol of his newly decided status as a hero of this century. And so he grew up loved and admired by all those around them, nurtured greatly by his parents to follow the path of light, and trained greatly to become a fighter of great prestige. Everyone around him seemed to always be in a joyous mood to see him, thinking that having him even grace them with his presence was something of great worth even as a child.
Even though he was told he was meant to be a hero, the values of honor and valor still needed to be applied to Dynasty often so he remembered what his goal was. He would be the hero that overthrew the evil that would soon rise. And because of this, tests were often made in order to see his progress and how he viewed the world. Every so often, someone would come with him with a task of something daring such as defeating a wild beast or retrieving a relic that had been lost long ago. It seemed many a times, these tasks would be completed with surprising ease which surprised nobody except for Dynasty himself, not understanding how these were tests. In his younger teen years, the hero would eventually overhear how these tests had been rigged so that Dynasty would believe that he had accomplished great feats naturally and deserve the respect around him. Feeling angry and betrayed by those around him, Dynasty instead set out to obtain a task of his own, one that couldn't possibly be falsified by the cons around him. Searching high and low, he eventually discovered that a thief had frequently visited his village and stole produce from various stalls in the shopping area of his home. While it wasn't exactly a stoic task, it was still something real instead of the way he was spoon fed fame before. Despite protests from the guards saying they could handle it, Dynasty remained set on this task and took over, bringing a bag of apples with him to where he had heard the thief resided in hopes of catching him out there.
Spending a few nights alone in the woods, the trail seemed to grow cold on the thief's whereabouts, only the general area of the forest being a known place for where he had fled to. Things seemed hopeless. But soon enough, a rustling in the bushes made the presence of another well known. Narrowing his eyes, Dynasty knew he had to approach this carefully. Feigning leaving the apples behind while he wandered away a bit, he listened closely before turning to catch the culprit in the middle of the act, a hand already grabbing the top of the bag. A chase ensued, but it wasn't long before Dynasty brought down the man who seemed a bit weak from hunger. Growling a bit, the hero turned the figure over and stared at his face before seeing through the dirt and grime that it was just simply another kid like himself. Confused, he slowly released the kid and asked for an explanation of why they have been thieving from his home. In response, the kid gave a story of how he had no family to care for him and had to do things like this to survive. He had stolen everything from clothes to food in order to get by because nobody else would offer their assistance to him. Dynasty watched the other man quietly for a second before noticing a strange detail, a scar over the man's right eyebrow so similar to his own. Widening his eyes a bit, he realized the meaning of this and a heavy pain grew in his heart as he realized that while the hero would be given everything and loved very much, the villain would receive nothing and was persecuted heavily.
Asking for the name of the kid, Dynasty was responded with "Kaine". Then taking Kaine by the arm rather forcefully, Dynasty proceeded to bring him back forcefully to the village. Word spread quick when the people realized that the thief had actually been caught by their hero and people gathered to celebrate him while ridiculing Kaine, who seemed to take it harshly as he tried his best to hide himself from others. It was only when he reached the summit of the village where his home resided that people grew confused. Dynasty's parents came out to question him about his exploits and why he still held the prisoner, but Dynasty quickly told them that Kaine would now be staying with them, being his servant. This of course meant that the house would be responsible for taking care of him and seeing he was properly raised. The parents looked to each other, seeming taken aback that their son would do something like his, more so that he would choose the villain of all people as his lackey. But they realized that they had taught him to do this and that this was the ultimate test that he truly had become the hero he was meant to be. No longer did the title matter to Dynasty. He did not care for being a hero, but instead cared for the people who needed him and vowed to help them all as well as he can.
Years passed and the two boys grew up with each other, Kaine taken care of very well under Dynasty's supervision. Kaine seemed to still hold resentment in his heart towards the people that had been quick to cast him out and even now avoided him. Dynasty made sure the villain was taken care of in most of the same ways that he was, believing that in time Kaine would release his anger and realize there was no need to fight amongst them. In many ways, the two saw one another like brothers instead of their public titles, Dynasty never subjecting Kaine to any duties he did not wish and Kaine respecting him the more for it. Many people in the village grew to worry if the two would fulfill their tradition, never having had something like this happen before in their history as they saw the villain and hero held a close bond. Worrying, the elders of each village gathered and decided that something would need to be done as the boys seemed to have no interest in upholding the ancient tradition.
Soon the two boys had grown into proud men, Dynasty the eye of the public with Kaine as his loyal servant. At least that is what they made the public saw. They had shared many experiences together and were the closest that friends could get. One day though, they would return home to see that their house was ravaged. Drawing their blades, they quickly made their way into the house and saw that their parents had been disposed of by a small group of assassins sent there searching for something. A fight quickly ensued and between the might of the combined brothers, the assassins had no hopes of wining. Subdued to their knees before the two, grief had tugged on both of the brother's hearts. Soon enough with a bit of coaxing, they confessed who had sent them and that they had no choice than to do it. Kaine declared he would kill them and attempted to bring his blade down on killers, but his sword was stopped by Dynasty's, holding it in the air. This was not the way they should do this and he knew it better than anyone. He felt great sorrow over his parents death, but he believed their story and knew this was wrong. Kaine instead was overcome by his rage and without his brother standing in the way of his vengeance, he took it as a betrayal. Instead, he turned his sword on his brother and the two fought, Dynasty trying to reason with him all the while as he realized what the villages had done to ensure their tradition had not been shattered. Soon the pair were brought to the edge of their home where a deep valley waited beneath. With careful and concise strikes along with having far more experience with his blade, Dynasty had managed to wear out his brother to the peak of collapsing.
When his brother rushed forward at him, Dynasty quickly dodged, unknowingly nearly casting his brother off the cliffs edge. A hand quickly stretched out and Dynasty held Kaine up from what could have been his demise, quickly pulling away from the ledge. But his kindness was only returned with steel as he felt a blade slash up at him, causing him to stumble back to the edge himself in surprise. A swift kick from a boot and Dynasty flew off the ledge, smashing into the mountain side as his body rolled down harshly before plummeting into the back of a cart carrying various objects of trade, the tarp covering it having done well to mostly break his fall. The people transporting him widened their eyes, the pair being a couple of outsiders who had come to try trading wares with the villages here, and quickly set off to rush him in search of aid. As he stared up, Dynasty's eyes watered as he watched a figure turn their back on him and begin walking away from high above. He did not cry because of the pain, nor because of his parents fate, but instead that he could not even save the one that had been most close to himself. Dynasty's body recovered as time passed, but his spirit felt broken over his failure and he could not bring himself to return home. Setting off onto the world once able, he looked for some way to reclaim who he once was in hopes that by doing so, he might be able to save his brother and see to it that there would be a different ending for the hero and villain.

Letting out a light sigh, Dynasty found himself confused as he walked along some black road made with a mysterious material he hadn't seen before. It was hard, but it didn't seem to be like normal stone nor was it made of metal. His blade had a bit of trouble digging into it without putting much power into it, not that he had any intention of damaging it but he was fairly curious. He had been walking along the path he assumed was for carts to travel down with their supplies, though instead he had seen strange vehicles that flew and carried people in them. Were they also powered by this new energy that he discovered? Looking down at his hand, he curled his fingers a bit before going to extend his hand out and gather energy in it, taking a moment before he fires it out shortly after with light sparks coming off it. He didn't quite understand the nature of Ki, but he was beginning to get the basics of it down. While the whole firing stuff from his hand had seemed interesting, Dynasty felt like learning how to increase his sword's strength was far more useful. While it took a lot of practice, he had eventually learned how to break stone without causing damage to the blade of his sword. While this might not had sounded impressive to most, it still stirred quite a bit of wonder and awe within the former hero and convinced him to explore all the possibilities that Ki could contain for him. Perhaps it would be the source of strength he so desperately needed in order to transcend the weakness he had before. Perhaps if he could harness this power, there would be a way to. . .
Dyn's thoughts were cut short by an obnoxious beeping coming from behind him. His hand quickly moved down to grip the hilt of his blade before he looked over for the source of the noise, set to defeat any challenger that would dare come for his head. Instead, he was struck dumb with confusion when the noise seemed to be from one of the strange hovering vehicle that had settled itself near him, the one driving it just some ordinary blonde woman who stared him down just as curiously as he did her. Dynasty looked her from bottom to top before moving his gaze away before she could meet his, unable to bring himself to look into her eyes. "What'cha doing there, pal? It's quite a long walk to the next city." She spoke out suddenly, catching the swordsman off guard as he seemed to stumble over himself to find an answer. He hadn't had to actually think about his words really since he left his friends after recovering from his injuries.
"I'm just heading wherever my path takes me. . ." he answered in a hesitant tone, finding it hard to bring his gaze up from the ground. Why was she bothering him? Did he do something strange for her to notice him? What could she possibly want? Many things raced through Dynasty's head as he tried to solve the problem internally, though no clear answer had come up yet. It was almost as if he wasn't a strangely dressed man walking around with a sword quite a few miles from entering the city.
The woman raised a brow in response and leaned over in her car to see what was ever so interesting on the ground, but seemed to fail on picking up what was enveloping his gaze. Tapping the metal side of her car with her nails to draw the man's attention, she saw as it pulled his gaze for a moment before he quickly looked back down again. She didn't know what his issue was, but it was starting to annoy him. "If you're going to talk to someone, be polite and look at them!" she said playfully.
Though it didn't come out as playful to Dynasty as he gave a light jump in his boots before he slowly looked up to her, almost as if he was dreading what he might end up seeing once his eyes rested on her face. As he looked up at her, he was a bit nervous, not having dealt with many outsiders before now and finding these people hard to handle most of the time. "S-Sorry." he muttered quietly as he gave a light bow of respect before standing back up tall again.
It was then she could see that even while his eyes looked at her, he was trying to look through her instead, he was trying to avoid her. She didn't realize if she had done something wrong or not, but she still moved a hand over to the seat beside herself and swept off some junk food she had earlier onto the floorboard before turning back to him. "Want to get a ride? It'll be dark by the time you get there at this rate." she said as she pushed open the door for him, not really seeming to ask as much as her tone seemed to imply he should get in.
Looking around a few times, showing how unsure he was, Dynasty eventually decided to move over and climb into the car seat, having to raise his sword a bit so it wouldn't awkwardly poke at him. The sight of it seemed to cause a stir in his driver and he looked over at her to see her eyes widen before he simply laid it down across his lap and sat politely with his hands over it. Taking a moment, she quickly regained her focus before starting to drive down the road at a much quicker pace than Dyn would had gotten from walking. Cool air blew out from the AC to the swordsman's surprise, moving a hand to curiously feel it at the source before replacing it back onto his lap. Over time, Dynasty became fairly aware that the woman was casting glances at his blade, though he chose out of respect not to call her on it.
After enough time though, it seemed the issue would appear on it's own. "So. . . Sword. . . Why do you uh. . . Have that?" she questioned hesitantly, figuring she would end up getting some kind of answer of hearing how he might be a psychopath or something. Though she couldn't help but watch as he looked down at it himself for a few seconds, furrowing his brows.
"It was. . . Something I was given a while ago. It means a lot to me." he finally answered after nearly half a minute had passed, staring down at the blade. While he had had this sword since he grew into his late teen years, as his tradition believed his should, he couldn't really answer why he still kept it. Part of him remembered fondly on the memories of when he would train side by side with Kaine using this sword, while the other part remembered how this was a blade intended to cut down who he had seen as a brother.
Seeing he wasn't exactly talkative on the subject, she assumed that something bad probably ended up happening regarding that blade. "I'm uh. . . Ann." she said, seeming like she was finished at first before simply leaving it there. "What's your name? I don't imagine I could just call you stranger or sword guy for that long." Remaining quiet, he woman glanced over at the man before noticing he was already sleeping with his face resting in his hand, seeming much more relaxed than he previous had before. She had no idea how she had missed it, but she figured she'd just let him sleep if he was that tired.
A few hours passed before Dyn's eyes finally weakly fluttered open, looking around curiously as he stretched lightly in the car seat he had been resting in before he looked over to the driver seat. She was gone. Quickly looking down as if on alert, he spotted his sword still laying on his lap. Letting out a sigh of relief, he was thankful that she hadn't been a thief and made off with the one thing he cared about right now. Looking around curiously, he planted a hand onto the side of the car before vaulting over the edge, unsure of where he was for a few moments before realizing this must had been the city she was taking him to. Looking about once more, he tried to look for his generous host in order to thank her. It was only out of the corner of his eye that he spotted her, along with what appeared to be a trio of tough looking men that didn't really offer much room for her to move through, something taking up both of her hands. Moving his sword onto its holster, he set out towards the group with a relaxed pace.
"Look guys, I said that I'd get the money by next week!" a familiar voice perked up from the group, loud enough for quite a few people to hear. Though it was obvious by the fact the men didn't budge they probably didn't care. "We asked for it last week and you said today. Time to pay what you owe." One spoke up in an aggressive tone, making it seem like he's done this before.
Though as soon as Dynasty stepped up, he coughed into a closed fist and looked towards the ground, catching the attention of the group. He had no idea really what was going on other than there was money involved and she might be in trouble. "I was. . . Hoping to thank you for your assistance earlier." he said quietly before looking up, noticing annoyed gazes from the men and a gaze that seemed to scream for help from the woman. The men looked to each other before looking to the newcomer once more, narrowing their eyes. "Whose this joker? And what the hell is he wearing? You kidding me?!" they said before letting out a laugh in unison, though Dynasty merely looked down at himself before shrugging his shoulders. He enjoyed the outfit a bit, regardless of what others thought of it. "Beat it before I beat you for bugging us." The largest of the three spoke, clearly not in the mood for this random interference.
For the most part, Dyn showed an obvious lack of care at the man's words. Instead though, he focused on the woman and could tell she was in some sort of distress. Looking over now, he could see she had a bag of something with some weird picture of meat on the on the side, though he didn't know what it might've meant. Taking a second, he reached over to grab her by the wrist before going to pull her behind him, looking up at the men without so much as flinching while the woman let out a surprised gasp. She couldn't help but think this guy must be some kind of idiot or something. Dyn held his ground though as he looked up at the trio who were now fuming with anger. Reeling back his left arm, one threw a punch straight for Dynasty's face, only for his stomach to be met instead with a harsh strike from the swordsman's metal sheath. Trying his best, he had purposefully left the strike weaker than he could in hopes of not causing too much injury, though the man still was on the floor rolling around a bit. Dyn supposed he did use a metal weapon after all. The other two seemed taken aback, but quickly rushed at the young man in their rage. Positioning the top of his sheathed blade at one's chin, he quickly brought his knee up with an extreme amount of force, the sound of cracking filling the air before he moved a hand to grab the other by the throat, not wasting any time as he moved forward a bit to get behind the man before delivering a sharp kick into the back of his knee. Crumbling to the ground, Dynasty followed it up by lifting the man and then chucking him through a store window, his expression rather calm despite all the chaos that had ensued from one little action. Looking back at the woman from before, she was absolutely stunned in surprise over what had just happened. Figuring his debt was repaid, Dyn brought the sheathe back to it's holster before setting off again, ignoring the sounds of the woman calling out from behind him.
