I don't expect you to harm her Rumi, she was your predisesser... let me handle this burden, k bubblegum?
Hey Dawn what are you? No... DAWN NO!
----------------
Another day, another memory. The memories of that day had haunted Rumia well past her loved ones demise. Well over a million years now and yet still she could not get past it. Heh most would probably laugh at such a situation. God of creation, lifespan longer than any known being... moping about the two of two mortal creatures. She coudn't help it though. Those two people had meant the world to her, aside from her brothers were really the only thing she interacted with seriously for that span of time. It was foolish in a purely mental aspect she knew but that did nothing to stop it. She would always wish they were still around.
Perhaps that was part of the reason she wished to talk to Tomoroko. Though she knew first hand the joy that came from bonding with someone, especially someone you cared for. Their was also the pain that came when one of those sides went away... She didn't want her friend or the one she wished to see to suffer that, yet she also knew she wouldn't be able to shake Tomo's resolve in this matter. Still the least she could do was ensure that she was careful, if not for her own sake then for those she would leave behind. Perhaps that was a little silly, she had already done so by dying once. But... she doubted the saiyaness wanted to do so again... right? Perhaps it was simply pure emotion driving her though, even Mar got on her about that at times. She had to admit, it had gotten her in a lot of trouble in the past...
By the time her guest arrived Rumia would be standing at the entrance to her temple, a half smile on her face as she greeted Tomo with a wave.
"Heeeey! Glad you could make it Tomo~ Have a hard time finding the place? Hehe"
Rumia would joke a bit, in an attempt play a bit with her friend. After all if they were all gloom and doom their was no way she'd get her point across! Besides they should have a little fun, before all the seriousness had to set in.
To say that the saiyaness was anxious was an understatement... ever since she had met with Komatsu Sr and found out that their son was in fact alive had her asking herself many questions... now more than ever she was determined to find out where and just who her own son was. She couldn't help but feel guilty that she'd left him alone all of these years to face Kami knows what. She wanted to find him and make things right, although she wasn't quite sure how. Knowing her family history, none of them were very forgiving...
Whenever Tomoroko suddenly appeared in the skies of Rumia's little planet, she looked distracted, even somewhat distressed as she flew down towards the temple. While she was looking at Rumia, she was so lost in the jumble of her own thoughts to realize she was actually there until she actually spoke up.
"O-oh! Rumia! Sorry... what did you say..?" She said with an apologetic look as she rubbed the back of her neck, offering up the smallest of smiles.
"Sorry... I just have a lot on my mind..."

"Hey... it's ok Tomo, you must have a lot on your mind after earlier"
Rumia would reach foward and pat Tomo's shoulder, taking a moment to consol the Saiyan before turning back to the temple behind her, the statues of her mentor and deceased lover standing high as they always did. Rumia would sigh before signaling Tomo to following her.
"I can understand how you feel in regards to Natto, theirs nothing I can do to help him now... *sigh* truthfully, I lost my lover in a similar way. Of course she didn't try to punch his way through dimensional walls. Her demise was on a smaller scale. Heh... but this isn't about me. How are you feeling? Gonna be ok?"
Rumia would pause for a moment, a concerned look on her face.
"Theirs something I want to show you... But if you can't handle it right now I'll understand, I... didn't expect all that that to happen when I invited you"
Tomoroko took in a deep breath as Rumia came over patting her shoulder, trying to console her. It seemed not so long ago the roles were reversed, and Tomo was the one trying to get Rumia to cheer up. She couldn't help but smile lightly at the irony of the situation.
"I think about it... every second... but I... I have to have faith in him. I have to believe that Natto knew what he was doing. It doesn't feel like he's gone, you know? I can't sense energy anymore but... it's like there's something inside me telling me that it's not over yet. That he's still out there somewhere. Y...you're sure his plan didn't work? and he's not in the living realm now?" Tomo would ask, though had been told many times that he in fact, was not. Still though, she couldn't accept his loss... how could she? They had been together for so long, through life and death they had found each other. This was no different, it was just another obstacle layed out before them. An obstacle that made her unable to see him. She shook her head to shake the thoughts from her mind, slapping her cheeks once as if to snap herself out of it before looking to Rumia.
"I'll be fine... Forget I asked that. What did you want to show me?" She asked, trying to further push the thoughts from her mind. The less she thought of it, the less painful it was.
"No, it's fine Tomo, we can speak of it as much as you need to. But to answer your question I must first show you someone. You recall our conversation about my mate back on Mar's planet? It is her you must see, if my explanation is to make any sense"
If Tomo accepted Rumia would then lead her inside of the mansion itself. Although the inside itself was what one might expect. A large area with various different stairs leading to different parts of the mansion above. With a kitchen and general entertainment room on the bottom level. The western kai however would only pay attention to the staircase in the middle, leading up to a pure white door that seemed to contrast the rest of the room. Rumia would signal for Tomo to follow this way as she led her up the stairway and opened the door itself, opening the way to a room as white as snow itself, with a large pod like containing device, similar to the saiyan incubators in the middle.
The Kai would then lead the way over to this pod and rest one of her hands on the flower like pod. A sigh would escape her lips as she focused her energy and it began to expand around the pod as multiple clicks could be heard, and the pod began to open in much the way a flower bloomed, until it fully showed the person within.
"This is Dawn Hikari, the woman I spoke of, a hybrid of your people and an Oni, as well as my mate. Over a million years ago I made a rather.... important mistake, and Dawn stepped in to fix it, at the litteral cost of her eternal soul. All that is left is her body now... I keep her here in this pod... Pathetic as it truly ma sound... I simply cannot let go of her, even after all this time"
The Kai would then sight and turn to face the saiyaness, shaking her head as memories ran through her head.
"This is important to note because the process I could have use to reverse the process at the time, one I was denied use of I tried to use to prevent Natto's soul from fading away completely. As far as I could it succeeded, and he passed into the living realm, However I cannot currently sense his energy, and won't be able to tell you for sure until he reforms, but given his willpower I do have high hopes for its success. The thing about this technique... about this lastly resort is well..."
Again Rumia would sigh an look to her mate in stasis, as if trying to find comfort in her before turning back to Tomo. She was hesitant, hesitant and nervous to give Tomo the news.
"The process can only save as much of the soul as possible. It... it cannot save the body. It cannot save their aura or their ki, it cannot save their power.... or their memories"
Rumia would then pause a moment as the reminder caused a sad expression to cross her face. She was sad... but it had been the only way.
As Tomo followed Rumia into her home, she was barely aware of her surroundings at all. She was focused both on the Kai in front of her, and her lingering thoughts concerning her mate. It was hard not to think of him considering everything the two had been through. She had been with Natto since she was... 15 years old? That was quite some time, and they had gone through many great endeavors and adventures together... Not to mention their children... as challenging as that was.
She took in a deep breath as they stepped into a room with a strange looking pod within it. She only noticed it because Rumia led her there. With every step the pod would open up like some sort of flower to reveal a girl inside. Tomo had to admit this was a sufficient distraction. What was Rumia getting at showing her this girl? What was so special about her?
And then Rumia told her everything about the strange girl... a saiyan/ Oni hybrid that had no soul... a lover lost long ago. The saiyaness couldn't even manage a tear for the story or the sight in front of her... while she felt bad for Rumia being left behind, she understood Dawn as well... Had Tomo known how to save Natto she would have gladly given her own soul up for it.... For him, for her children... her soul was an easy price to pay.
She looked back own to Rumia when her tone changed and she spoke of the technique she used on Natto. Tomo looked at her curiously as she listened, finally smiling even as Rumia apologized. She walked forward and hugged Rumia tightly. At first she didn't say anything, the lump in her throat preventing her from doing so... but soon, she would find her words.
"Thank you Rumia... His body isn't what I cared about... His soul is... and you... you might have saved that... I hope I can find him one day and know that he's alive... that his plan worked... Thank you..." She was once more trying hard not to cry, wanting to seem as sincere as possible as she hugged the little Kai.
For most of the walk and during her explanation Tomo had remained completely silent.enough so that if she didn't hear the sound of her footsteps behind her she might have assumed she simply stayed behind. Here in this room of white she originally was going to show Dawn to Tomo in an effort to get her to be more careful when she returned to the living realm. Now however it held a second meaning. It proved the example of what she had tried to do for Natto, And perhaps a way to show that she understood what the saiyaness was going through. It wasn't long after her explanation that Rumia was gripped in a tight hug, their size difference causing her to be lifted from the ground a bit. She didn't mind though, in fact it caused a chuckle to escape her lips st the situation, before she returned her focus to more serious matters.
"I hope your able to find him as well Tomo, I would be very glad for you. But you must understand, it will be hard to find him even for us. Aside from his soul chances are he will look and feel quite different. On top of that your the only one who will have the memories.... of the both of you. Should he make it his life will be anew, like a newborn but older and... slightly more mature. I suppose you could call it a blank slate. That was simply all I could do in that situation... I couldn't allow another soul to simply fade away like that. I am.... quite tired of watching it happen"
Rumia would sigh lightly as patted the saiyaness' and offered a small smile to her saiyan friend. She didn't want another to share the fate of Dawn and her mentor. It was a truly horrible thing to go through, and she did all she could to lessen Tomo's suffering. She wished she could have done more to preserve Natto's soul but in the end... this was all she could manage.
"That saying, time heals all wounds? It dosn't apply to everything, I am glad that at least this way their is a chance you two will be able to meet again"
She would return the saiyan's hug, as a friend ahe had done all she could.
Putting Rumia back down, Tomo brought her arm up to wipe away at her eyes. She was extremely happy to hear that he could still be out there... although the part that really broke her heart was that he wouldn't even remember her if they were to meet again... This really was it... their story was truly finished after all... She couldn't stop the tears that were now free falling down her face at that point and had to turn away of Rumia just then.
She had to take off her wrist guard to shove it against her eyes in an attempt to plug the leak! She just couldn't stop them from coming! She wasn't sure whether to feel happy at Rumia's news or not! He was there somewhere, but he wasn't! She was never going to see him again! Was any of this even worth it anymore?
"Damn it..." Was all she managed to say, though there was so much more she wanted to. She couldn't get these damn words out for Rumia, she could do nothing but cry.
<"Thank you Rumia... If he's out there then I'm happy with that. It hurts that he'll never know who I am... or our kids... or anything at all but... he hasn't vanished forever... so that's ok... I'm sorry... I... I'm just..."> At that point her thoughts were a jumbled mess of memories and emotion, no longer able to keep a clear message across to Rumia without actually using her words.
She had to suck in a deep breath at that point, straightening out as she tried to steady herself, but still didn't turn back to face Rumia... They had called on her to be their guardian... they didn't need to see her at her weakest...
Tears flew free from the saiyaness as she came to understand the ramifications in full. She tried to hide them by turning away and blocking them with her wrist guard. It seemed she saw some shame in the tears she shed, but Rumia saw no reason for that. The tears that fell from her eyes were shed over a lover she had held dear for many years. It was someone she cared for with all her heart. Their was nothing wrong with showing emotion about that, in fact it was better. Keeping it all bottled up.... Rumia knew first hand that wasn't good for you. She'd float up a bit and place her hands on Tomo's shoulders in an attempt to comfort her.
"Theirs nothing wrong with crying, theirs no need to hide your tears. Least of all around me. Why would I think any less of you because you grease your lover? I do, even a million years later. Theirs nothing wrong with crying Tomo. In fact sometimes... it's the healthiest thing to do"
Rumia gave a light sigh as she communicated with Tomo through her thoughts, it became clear she wasn't going to be able to speak proper at the moment after all. She would nod at the words given to her and simply float over in front Tomo and take her hands in her own, researching the wrist guard and pulling the saiyaness into a close hug. One hand rubbing the back of her head in an attempt to comfort her.
"I know Tomo... I know it's hard, but just let it all out. I get how it feels to loss someone so close to you, No one expects you to just jump back from something like that. So... cry all you need to ok? I'm here, and we have all the time in the world to talk"
Focusing her energy she would close the pod with her free hand before returning her embrace fully to Tomo. Saiyans were one of the races with the most attachment to their emotions, in fact it triggered many of their transformative states! It only made sense that the loss of her mate would affect Tomo In such a hard way, especially given there time together. Rumia coudn't make the pain go away, no the only person that could do that was gone from this world. All she could do was offer what comfort she was able.
"Your not our servant Tomo, I'm here for you to, ok?"
"I... I know... I just..." Slowly but surely, Tomoroko would start to regain the ability to speak normally, even through her tears. By now, her eyes were a bright red from trying to rub the tears from her eyes, and she looked to be absolutely miserable.
"I used to... cry all the...all the time... until I... met him... I promised I ... that I wouldn't..." She would try to explain to Rumia how she had made a promise to herself to not cry anymore, at least not like she had in her younger days where she tended to cry quite often. Because of him, she had always pushed herself far beyond her limits not only to keep up with him, but because she wanted to be useful to him... she wanted to be able to protect him if the time ever came, and she needed to be strong enough to do that. And yet... she had failed to do it...
The tears started falling down her face again as Rumia removed her arms from her face, revealing the distressed figure of the woman behind them. She stayed silent just then, trying to figure out what to say but smiled gently when the small Kai took her into a hug. She hugged her back tightly, and actually found it much easier to compose herself once more. Rumia assured her that no one expected her to jump back from this, but Tomo would just shake her head.
" I have to jump back... for him. I know it... it might be impossible but... if he is out there... I have to find him... I...I have to protect him..." Her throat was hoarse now as she spoke, trying to fight her way through the sadness just then, digging deep to try and find her bravery... wherever it was hidden away.
"Thank you... I know I...I'm not a servant... but I"ll do... everything I can for you, Mar... a...and all the others...If I can." Her voice would fall to a whisper as she let a sigh escape her lips, followed by a sniffle as she pulled out of the hug, though didn't move away from Rumia.
"Look at me.... heh... I'm such a...a mess... some hero..."
"Heroes cry, villians cry. Everyone Cries. I cannot think of a soul that hasnt at some point... But... Your not a hero or a villian. Isnt that a bit black and white? As a guardian you'll be expected to protect Mar.You'll be expected to HELP in the protection of the quadrant. But no one expects you to se everyone or everything. Just do what comes nsttusrlly. Tears training, be yourself. Fitting yourself in someone elses mold will only get you destroyed im the end.
Rumia would walk foback a bit after their embrace was broken and place her hand on the now closed pod.
"To a god of creation life is everything, balance is key.... For me life means even more because of what ive seen. My mentor, my lover and maybe even my brother. They all met the same fate Natto did, minus the second chance. Tomo, all life is precious-even down to a soul. People care about you just as you cared about Natto. How will they fill if you run off get yourself removed from existencr because you were to stubborn protecting something. An individual and their memories cant be replaced... Ok?"
Rumia would walk back over to the saiyaness and produce from seemingly thin air an Aqua bracelet and a crimson one. With a wave of her hand the red would reappear on her arm, snd she would hand the other to Tomo herself. At the bracelet's center sat a very special stone. Which Tomo might notice would change color depending on her emotions.
"Thats a gift, from one friend to another. Do take care of it k? It is over a million years old after all"
A light smile was offered, yeah she knew exactly what Tomo was going through.
"Yeah, you'll find him. I suppose this time he'll have to catch up eh? Hehe"
The words Rumia uttered hit Tomoroko harder than she knew the Supreme Kai meant them too. She was faced with a hard reality just then; She wasn't a hero. No she really wasn't, sure she was a war hero to her people, a champion that had set the Alliance free from the Empire. However on the other side of that same coin, she had caused so much hatred and destruction... torn families apart due to one believing in the Empire, and the other in the Alliance. No, she was no hero, and yet she wasn't a villain as Rumia said. Although, it wasn't too late to sdet herself right, and she truly believed that by becoming this Guardian, by protecting Mar and the other Supreme Kai's she could do just that.
"I know you're right Rumia, I do... and I... I don't want to get removed from existence but... right now... I just feel so alone, even if I'm not..." Tomoroko mumbled, trying to find the right words to describe what she was thinking. Truth be told, the saiyaness was depressed, and it was a state of mind she had never faced before. She didn't understand her own emotions, her own desires. She still knew that she couldn't go and get herself erased from existence, but damn it did her mind ever try to push her towards accepting that fate.
Whenever Rumia approached her and created the two bracelets from thin air, Tomoroko stopped to watch Rumis closely, curious as to what it was she was doing, and smiling softly as she offered her the aqua bracelet. A gift from one friend to another hunh? and a precious relic by the sounds of it as well. She gently took the bracelet from Rumia and looked into the aqua stone for a long moment before placing it on her left wrist. Immediately the stone began to change color, turning into a deep yellow, representing Tomo's mixed emotions and how she was completely unsettled by the events of Natto's passing.
"I... Thank you... Rumia, this means a lot... I promise I'll take care of it." Of course Tomo didn't realize the implications that such a gift presented, but she would one day find out. For now though the saiyaness was finally able to stop crying and dabbed the water away from her eyes.
"It's going to be so strange being stronger than him... Well, if I can get my powers back."
"Course I know you will... Take care of yourself Tomo, this planet has enough funeral wreaths, wound't you say? This world is full of different emotions, some make us smile.... Some make us busy... Tomo, you will always be welcome here. Maybe ill show you the other places on the planet when you return"
She put more force behind the word when. Because she fully in Tom's ability. But she did worry. She foundwound't Tomo, in her heart she knew she wouldn't be able to. No one would be able to stop her in this situation after all. Still, as childish as it was for someone in her position she didn't want to lose another. That's all heroes seemed to do now a days, die. Tomo... Perhaps shed be different. She gave a light smile in response.
"All I ask is you take what I've show to heart in your travels there. Soragami is there now, ill be sending Crystal soon as well... Maybe ill pay a short visit while I bring her.... Hmmm yes. So call one of us if you have need ok? And... Enjoy your time with your family"
