He'd picked a place while from the whispers of the native's was known. Was also for the most part left alone in silence in this territory of the planet. The building was a bit drab and showed signs of repair in several areas but still fell into a broken state. Holes in various areas and the walls and ceiling sometimes creaked like creatures moaning to the night sky beyond its walls. A few of the small holes in the roof did well to vent the smoke from a fire burning near he and his comrade. His normal clothes in a bag near him. He'd yet to change back into them. He'd taken to disguise had advised Tomo to as well so they could keep to the distance within the ship that had brought them here. A body suit upon his lean frame. His entire body but his head covered by it. Classic and black color in style. The boots and gloves as well but he didn't seem to favor it and would likely change soon back into his original apparel now they they had reached destination. He didn't seem to truly mind leaving earth. He figured by now it was likely even if she didn't question him on it. He believed Tomo knew or at least had her doubts he actually was a native of Earth. The abandoned armor at his side reflecting the flames lights lightly. Small holes at the side of the old building only giving small signs they were up here visually.
He'd been hesitant to take on disguise but it made him feel more comfortable to remain hidden. But he seemed worried for Tomo to see him at all and been oddly secretive when it came time to do so. Leaving no word back on earth and returning shortly after in the false uniform. He'd been quiet but seemed to want to talk and truly didn't seemed to care where they went. He had his reasons to keep moving an keep from public eye in to great a degree. But with new of the planet trade information that should have likely made him pleased. He just felt more adrift without it. Like even more of his identity was deprived from him as it metaphorically slipped through his finger tips. He wondered on Tomo's own stories as well. What she must have been thinking here on this planet as things for the saiyans began happening. He'd remained silent watching the fire sitting next to her. Here in this place that was supposed to represent a new beginning for the saiyans. Curious if that was also a thing to come to others as well in turn here. Sitting close to her silently watching the fire dance as if unsure how to begin such conversation. A new place, A new native species, a new horizon. The warmth of a flame dancing before them with crabs roasting upon the fire captured from the strange green sea. The stars above dancing just as they were back on earth. His eyes looking up through one of the holes in this old structure. Up towards the stars that were one of the only familiar things in most places he'd been as long as the sky was in view. The one thing that never changed and always was a constant. Something familiar that gave him some peace to focus on. Drawing in a deep breath silently near his friend.
Tomoroko had flown into the ancient Guru's lookout a few moments after Tokibi, carrying with her a rather 'small' avian creature she had captured in the sky. The longer she stayed in the living realm the hungrier she got, and frankly she found herself constantly eating now a days just to conserve her energy. When she walked in, she noticed Tokibi remaining quiet and only gave a soft smile as she watched the flames dance off of his saiyan attire.
Even though he didn't have the frame of a well trained saiyan, it suited him. She didn't say anything though, proceeding to preparing her meal by sticking it on a pire she had made and placing it over the fire and then sitting down next to Tokibi. She let the silence hang between them for a moment before moving closer to him, gently placing her hand on his knee as she looked up into his dark eyes as a concerned friend.
"How are you holding up? Alright? I hope all of this isn't too overwhelming for you... The Namekians have been nice at least?" She asked him gently, genuinely concerned for him. She still didn't understand her attachment to Tokibi, she jsut figured she wanted to help ihm so much because he just looked so... lost.
He sighed feelig her energy as she drew near. Not that worried an relaxed around her at this point. But he seemed to remain in his saddened state watching the fire before him. He shivered lightly at her touch but looked at her only when she'd touched him. Smirking at her catch then at her as his eyes met her own. His smirk a empty smile however. So hollow it almost seemed it would shatter. "I had a strong feeling it was best I get a fire going. I was almost positive even with how little we've known each other you'd be coming with a fresh kill from a hunt." Taking a moment to digest her words and his sensations while greeting her. "They seem kind true... I'd heard they were so in my studies a few years prior. But also fierce with warriors that could rival any empire's foot soldiers. Some theorize its their peaceful ways that prevent them from forming their own empire." Speaking softly about information he'd had pounded in his head when the Officials and his early master had educated him thoroughly.
He'd reach his hand out to hers that touched his knee. Placing a hand on her wrist and grasping it lightly and kindly. He drew in a deep breath and felt his heart heavy. "This... venture we're on, Its something new truly I imagine it will give a nice change of pace and outlook. As well as offer a chance to see your people in new light as you seem so eager to show me apparently." Giving a light weak grin once more. As if to give a friendly feeling that she desired him to give them at least some chance. Given he had nothing or anyone else following her on this adventure was just as good a path as any other.
He held her wrist softly seemingly to nervous to take her hand perhaps. That was unclear, What didn't seem unclear was a weight heavy within his heart as well as his mind. "There was a story I wanted to tell you... A few things about me. Even if yours is... I'll admit hard to believe. You still told me it as well as several things about yourself and your family. Your people and your past... If this was because of our friendship or the fact I was one of the few that stay in the darkness close to you doesn't matter. I feel its perhaps fair that I should explain somethings about myself. While from what I've heard its likely I've long sense been forgotten... It would still be safer as well for you to know to avoid other surprises. Plus its better I'd feel if you hear it from my lips then anothers even if that has a low chance as of now." He'd say smiling at her seeming a little nervous if not frightened by what he spoke of. Holding his hands grasp a little tighter as the fire danced around them and the stars above twinkling above. Another planet, Another horizon, A new set of stars glimmering above. Perhaps it just felt right to tell someone... to talk to someone. An to be honest, Who else did he have?
Tomo couldn't help but laugh at Tokibi's comment about her coming in with a kill. Of course he didn't know the true reasons for it, but it was funny to her none the less as it was true.
"They are strong warriors in their own right... so far it looks like they don't want to get too involved with us... which is fine, it'll take time for everyone to get used to each other but hopefully one day the Alliance and the Namekians can learn from one another. As for the Alliance... well, there's a lot I want to show you about them but I have to get back to other world for a little while. Being in the living world for so long is really starting to sap my energy and my body needs to get back before something happens." She began to explain, smiling towards him as Tokibi placed his hand on hers in a way that might indicate intimacy between the two. However, the feeling Tomo got from him was far from the sort of intimacy people would expect. She could sense his emotions just through his touch and it only made her want to care for him more.
"If you don't want to tell me you don't have to. I know my story seems pretty far fetched but I wouldn't lie to you. I told you all of that because I feel I can trust you. You're a good kid, and I can only imagine the things you might have had to go through before you met me, so if it's too hard to talk about, then you don't have to" She assured him, giving his hand a squeeze of reassurance as she watched the food cooking away on the fire. This was such a strange feeling of peace... she wasn't quite sure what to make of the happiness she felt...
He smiled but seemed to tilt his head at the concept of returning to the other world. She told him these stories so often but believing them was truly beyond his grasp. But that wasn't to say he considered a liar or didn't believe her in some regards. IT was in its own way its own conundrum. One that had no true way to believe in it or be against it. He chose for the most part to always remain neutral but skeptic on those words and ideas. As for many things who was he to decide to dissuade such a idea. He knew well he resided as very little in terms of standing in this world and the cosmos beyond even less of one.
He smiled at her words and her touch but looked away towards the fire for a few moments. He seemed eerily calm, perhaps a little hollow in some concepts. The more he relaxed and the more he let go of his tension he just seemed to only show little or a more empty expression behind hollow black eyes. He didn't speak of any memories as Tomo did in their passing time or stories at all of his own. "Given the rumors that since our travels with your brethren have since proved true. I know your son destroyed. the closest thing I had to a home. I was raised on brench... By the government but the memories are fuzzy a little now. I was educated but property of theirs that was nearly put to be a soldier. But my value was seen in other ways. But that being said I cannot say I don't feel some regards towards. But now its simply ash and enslaved people that lay crushed under your sons boot." He'd say watching the flames. His voice was a little quiet as seemed to lose some of his emotion from his voice. He seemed relaxed but as if something was leaving him. The spirit in his voice and eyes he put on just as he'd been trained to faded. Leaving what would sound if not also appear as a lost boy aged beyond his years.
"I was a slave shortly after that... It wasn't so bad. The officials gave me to a family of nobility so it furthered my education. Its why I'm so well off in that regard as I am. Thy though it was good to have a child raised along side the boy and to teach him. A ally and servant as it were. There were worst places I could have been I suppose..." His words speaking of it with no harshness or anger. It was just part of his life. What fault was it of the boy or he? This was how things just were in that empire. This was a past and it was his life. He seemed to speak just as if it was a part of any story. Void of emotion as if is plain as what they were talking about their cooking dinner.
"I had a master as well who when the boy was to old for a child servant any longer. He was a retired military leader who they though a educated slave would provide good conversation and be a comfort. He taught me of history and the wars of the past. Its strange how thinking of what kind of soldier he must have been... what he'd done who he'd fought... An yet as a old man all he wanted was some company. An as my duty I provided a kind kinship and conversation. It was almost just being like a ordinary servant. A hireling rather thena owned piece of property." He'd smile a hollow empty thing that resembled a smile at the fire. Chuckling so softly it was almost a whisper. "I suppose those two masters were the closest thing to family I've ever really had. Its a interesting thing the bond between master and slave. You can never truly understand it nor can you ignore its defining lines of truth. Its a painful but at times comforting thought." His hand grasp had weakened perhaps as if he'd forgotten she was there but obviously given him speaking this couldn't actually be the case.
"I was never beaten or wounded in ways to leave marks. They had other ways to move me when I was purchased by a slave Baron after old man had passed on. A few months ago when I came to earth was the first days I was truly free from the years I spent controlled. I had to learn recognize what people were... who they really were under all the disguises of appearances and society. Who they might truly be when only their belongings were around. A easier task then you might think when you aren't seen on the same standing as normal people. To be seen and not heard..." A concept that was ironic given how now he in some respects sought to tell someone the story and be seen and in fact actually heard. The opposite of what he'd had to do to survive as best he could for so long before.
"I've seen what the lowest of all empires are. The trade that passed between our empires... Handled by not directly associated partys. While I may not hold many scars from my times it does not mean I was spared other things. I had to use all my tools at my disposal to escape. It was only thanks to the costumes they made us wear to entertain guests on occasion and the way I got one Brenchian to look at me that I got my chance at all." He looked at his hands briefly still quiet and void of emotion but oddly seeming more genuine then ever at this moment. "I did what I had to and used my body and mind as the tools I needed them for. The things I did I suppose would be hard for those who have never known that life to understand why one would willingly let someone use them in so many ways. An now even near you as I am some laws would say I am still a slave or property of the PTO or what remains. Some might even claim I belong to your son now given he owns probably many that used to be locked up in places near me. Along with the new slaves they have taken I've heard of. Although I imagine no ones looking for anymore given the state of things..." He'd look from his hands to the crackling fire and let out a long relaxed breath. Not once looking back at her yet as he slowly relaxed more and more becoming tired sounding. As if he was a old man perhaps trapped in a young boys body. "There will never be a day when all powers allow freedom and to many of us it wouldn't truly change much. I had spent months on that blue planet lost. What can you do with freedom truly? It is not as comforting a gift as you might think. But..." He seemed to think for a moment that would stretch on for a very long few seconds.
He had compared the empires lightly already and mentioned a once existing business. Saiyans had slaves and this was simply common even if alliance was be believed at least far more kinder forms of master. Servants perhaps even more then slaves. But he couldn't help but wonder to feel... it was too much for her to understand. "Do you think just because a empire is kinder to its lowest it makes any difference to the lowest of citizens and the slaves like I once was...? Do you think if you refrain from beating them or casting harsh gazes towards them its any better?" He didn't seem to truly be talking to her any more. More posing if not projecting a emotion or a truth towards her.
"It isn't the violence, It isn't the labor,... It isn't the hunger, Or the heat, or the chains." Breathing slowly and as if he was exhausted in ways unable to be seen by the eye. An while this alliance he believed had no slaves any longer. It was as if spoke of those still on Brench and countless other worlds he'd once had contact with in small form or another. Perhaps allowing more of a connection with them and himself then he wanted but could not deny. "But do you know what those people out there fear right now?" His words seeming to carry great weight. A kind of weight that bore down on his youth and shaved away years away from his soul. "Its the unknown. Lash that comes from nowhere for reasons never explained. A visit from a master or task driver in the dead of night... I remember that fear." Being this close to what this empire was in some small way. The history of its predecessor and the Vegeta rule the now Nasu rule. What he'd escaped and seen destroyed. What now built stronger then ever before again in the stars above. "An right now I feel it returning..."
He seemed to hold true to only what notions were fact more often then not. He couldn't deny such truths for fancy ideologies. "I have known the pain of feeling the weight on my shoulders for as long as I can recall of what was asked and demanded of me for reasons I was never able or allowed to fully understand. I have learned the freedom of casting it off. But the world itself never will truly change. Nasu, Komatsu, Jarvis, The Viceroys, an all the elites sprinkled in between. They'll never truly understand... But understanding and knowing are two different things. An perhaps... I just wanted you to know who I am. What I was... and very well what I am today." A cold breeze on the wind. AS he just watched the fire and for a moment without any of his normal false pretenses or attitude. He just seemed to sit there. As if a hollow little boy. rather then the more grown one next to her. As empty and complacent as likely the many slaves in her past she may have seen in one place or another. Whether it be from a Kold demon, A brenchain, Saiyan, or anything of the like. It was a look that seemed to be unable to be understood that only one of them could truly relate and fathom.
When Tokibi first told her that he had been raised on Brench she sighed lowly, tightening her grip on his hand as he spoke, staying silent until he took a pause.
"I'm sorry... I should have been there to stop him, but without Mar there's not much I could have done... I don't think I could have done more with him there actually..." She paused as Tokibi then went on, in great detail about his life until this point. So he had been a slave his whole life then? That actually explained a lot of the behaviors she had picked up from him. The skepticism, the constant desire to stay away from crowds, the hesitation to trust anyone... She wondered what she had truly done to gain his trust, especially since he thought she was lying about her predicament of being dead.
She listened quietly, taking her hand out of his whenever he seemed to lose his grip on her. She would wrap her arm around his shoulders and pull him in closer to her, taking him into a hug as her free hand moved up to caress the back of his head, much like a mother would do to console her child.
"I'm sorry you had to grow up like that...I don't mean to pry but, do you know how you ended up in that situation? I mean... I guess it doesn't matter... I'm sorry." she said as she would pat his head, holding him and kissing the side of his head before resting her chin on the top of his head.
"I've never believed in slavery... I grew up as a low class saiyan my entire childhood and I know what it's like to be less than the dirt beneath someone's foot... but slavery? It's wrong on so many levels, and I hope that Komatsu never resorts to that... the fact that Nasu has..." She paused to close her eyes for a moment. That was something that had stung to find out... that she and Natto had died freeing slaves, and yet he was capturing people and turning them into them. Had she still been alive, she would have stopped him in his tracks, because if she were still alive, she never would have lost her powers like this. Her thoughts were interrupted whenever Tokibi mentioned that those who were currently in power would never understand the weight of his fears as a slave... the fear of the unknown.
"I can't speak for anyone but Koma. He's been a prisoner of the Empire since he was 5 years old. I can't even imagine what they must have put him through but my little Komatsu... he came back much different than he was. I think if anyone understands, it's him. He's seen what it's like, I don't think he'll be willing to have anyone go through that." She said gently, hoping to settle his fears by creating a connection with Tokibi and Koma. Maybe if Tokibi knew more about Komatsu himself, he'd be more understanding of his stance with the Alliance. She didn't push the subject though, instead she was just content hold the kid like this.
"Thank you, for telling me all of that. But you know what? It's not who you were that matters to me... your past and experiences have shaped you into the young man you are today, the young kid I like so much. Just know... I might not always physically be here, but I"ll keep watching over you from now on. I promise..."
It did always seem like she was quick to want to help. Speaking of how she should have been there or could have helped under other circumstances when he first started his story. It was one of the things that made her refreshing if not a light or warmth to him. Something he could cling to as well as perhaps why he followed her instead of remaining in his abysmal drifting from day to day in hiding like he had been back on earth. Living with freedom he truly didn't know how to accept.
She embraced him to which he only smiled softly. Drawing in a slow breath the warmth and comforting scent enough to help ease some portion of his momentary darkness within. Her embrace was a comfort that he was willing accept. What he felt about her story didn't matter once he knew who and what kind of person she was. "I was raised by the higher ups for a time and educated in my youngest days I can recall before I was given to the first younger master. I think they were deciding what to do with me and weighing my uses looking back. Perhaps they intended to make me a soldier but found this to be more suitable at first. Of course I'm sure they had no idea about the kold demon that would own me years later. All I know is they owned me from youth... I've really no idea where or why they claimed me as such." He'd answered her question softly as they conversed. He'd lean close to her putting his head upon her shoulder after a time. It was a comfort and while maybe a bit strange to some he didn't care at the moment. The crackling of the warmth of the fire lighting the night and her being close helped. The soft feeling and warmth of her as he leaned upon her gave him a comfort that tethered him together in this calm almost frail display he gave at the moment. Always a little secretly tattered at the seams.
He hadn't really seemed too act much like a child. He looked like a young man but looking at him for longer then a first glance one could see just how young the sixteen year old was. His life had added years to his looks and how he carried himself. He listened to her words and didn't seem to answer but only take in each word after he'd been done. While he wasn't fully sure how to feel about her story as much as he once had been. He thought on the hardships of her and her family. How some of this might have effected her in the current state of the galaxy. How life in itself had a way of dragging out the darkness. The ground shifted under him as his heels drug closer. His knees raising close to his chest as he leaned close to her. The child perhaps more apparent now then it had been for a long time.
His arms weaving under her own as she spoke of her intents and how she felt. His arms weaving under hers and around her. An before long as he buried his face into her shoulder and chest his tears began to pour. He sniffled as lightly into the night a young boy took a moment to stop pretending he was older then he was. An allowed himself to feel for a moment. Perhaps not understanding how trust and friendship can leave such a mark so quickly. But only clinging and acting as the only way he could once the walls had been broken down for the moment. Unable to put them back up at the moment as he wasn't sure how else to feel. Or had even suspected it to effect him as it did in this moment.
"Well... if you're ever curious about where you came from, I know my mother can help. Kyuri's always been leagues ahead of anyone in terms of technology. Doing something like genetic testing would be right up her alley, I"m sure she wouldn't have much trouble. that's only if you wanted to of course." She offered after his little explanation as to his previous owners. She thought of how nice it could be for him to be reunited with his family after having lived a life away from them like this. Of course that was considering they were still alive or weren't slaves themselves.
If they were slaves, she could always help Tokibi by freeing them, she didn't forsee much trouble there... but if they were dead, that was another story completely.
she was snapped out of her reverie whenever she felt the young boy put his arms around her and bury his face into her. She could just faintly hear him weak from his position and quickly wrapped her arms around him, hugging him tightly and placing one hand on his head reassuringly.
'Having Tokibi... it almost feels like I have one of my boys back... like I'm getting the chance to be there for them growing up... I know I'm dead and I shouldn't interfere but... I can't leave him. I don't know why I feel so bonded to him but...' A light sigh escaped her lips as she held Tokibi close, kissing the top of his head gently before resigning herself to just holding him there. Her hand would pat his hair lightly, a stray strand falling and twisting around her finger as she did so. She didn't notice at first, but when she did she didn't push it off... There was the opportunity to do the very thing she had suggested if Tokibi declined.

He held her close and tried to bury his face away and the tears that spilled as time went on. A flood of emotions that even he had fought to hold back ad to some degree fully even deny to himself. It was something he was used to or that he fully understood in his time with her. His very freedom had been similar never truly understanding it or taking the transition into it well. The galaxy was a large and lonely place that often seemed as vast and empty truly as his hopes were in the worst final days of his bondage. But for now at this moment, It just seemed to small here within the arms of another.
"I don't know... I've lived this long alone and with no one. Its a frightening thought to find out who if anyone is truly out there. Some stories are frightening to consider." He'd say with a sense of worry and frail dread in his voice as he shifted lightly within her grasp and warmth of her arms. His face slowly after a time sliding up to her shoulder as his cheek rested their softly. Looking off into the distance as he did feeling strangely safe within her arms. Wondering if this was the comfort of a loved on or perhaps a mother grasp. It was something he'd never truly known or felt a embrace such as this with such pure intentions behind it. From her scent to her soft embrace and small touches she just seemed to absorb his pouring pain within the moment. It was a way she made him feel strangely safe for the moment even with all the uncertainty of the galaxy lately around them. "At least I have you..." His voice tired and weak as he slowly raised his head but rather then looking towards her eyes he just looked towards the few starts and night sky that peeked in through the holes in the roof above. speaking of such details had robbed him of much of his remaining will and energy of the day. He desired rest but for the moment didn't want this moment to end just yet between them.
"We don't have too if you don't want too." She said to him softly, keeping him in the embrace as long as he would let her. While Tokibi didn't want to find his family, Tomo thought it would be an excellent idea. She could find out from Kyuri with the hairs that had gotten stuck to her fingers. She hoped that if she at least had that information ready for when Tokibi was ready then she could help this poor kid find them that much easier. He really deserved a family...
She would of course investigate them first, not wanting to throw Tokibi into an unfavorable position. She let out a soft sigh as a faint smile crept up onto her lips when he mentioned having her. That was true, she would be there for him as much as she possibly could considering her current state... she would do everything in her power to protect him.
"I'll always protect you Tokibi... If you can't see me, then just call for me whenever you need me, and I'll come running back to you." She said gently as she leaned towards him when he pulled away to kiss his forehead lightly, much like a mother would to her child before bed.
"For now, lets get some rest okay? I need to leave for a little bit tomorrow, so I want you to have as much energy as you can muster." She told him with a light nod of her head, putting an end to their serious conversation. She would see Tokibi off to sleep, then in the morning she would give the hairs to Kyuri to analyze before she had to return to other world.
