If Galen didn't know better, he would've been quite scared and feeling hell guilty for blowing a hole in the Majin's chest and belly, but he knew that their physical complexion was rather otherworldly and that this kind of damage was nothing really, which was soon proved as she seemingly effortlessly regenerated the lost tissue of her magical body. She seemed rather unfazed, though and shortly after regenerating her body she pushed her hands forward and started firing ki blasts at Galen. One thing he did notice, though, was that they were also quite lacking: Liari took a very long time - in his perspective - to form the ki orb, and more time than she should to actually fire it. In the end, her barrage of ki blasts was slow paced and easy to anticipate and dodge and that was precisely what he did by casually - effortlessly even - dodging all of her ki blasts by barely even moving.
"Too slow. You are thinking way to much before generating a ki orb. On top of that, it takes another second after you actually form it before you are able to fire it. That way I can easily predict when they will be fired and dodging is just way too simple." and as he dodged and explained the flaws in her technique, he slowly approached her by walking, until he was in front of her, attempting to grab both her hands with his own and stop her from firing the ki blasts by tightening his grip around her wrists, squeezing it hard. "So, tell me... Would you like to learn how to fight?" and that was quite the offer as Liari had already plenty of time to actually see what this human was capable of. His offer came with a gentle smile; a weird contrast to just how hard he was attempting to hold her still.
Liari couldn't believe what she was seeing. Not only was Galen dodging her blasts (which she expected) But he was doing it in such a way that made her jaw nearly drop to the floor literally! The man only barely shifted his position as a blast closed in, tilting a shoulder here, craning his neck there, using only enough energy to dodge and nothing else! How in the hell was he doing that? That was just plain ridiculous! As she continued to blast at him, Galen made some pretty riveting remarks that she was just firing too slow and that he could easily predict where her blasts were going to go.
"Aren't YOU special?" The Majin commented sarcastically, still blasting away! Galen just kept dodging as he started to walk towards her, only adding to the craziness of this whole thing! Okay, this was just getting stupid! Liari cocked her arms back, charging a POWERFUL beam that would make HIM think twice about being cool before she felt his hands WRENCH her wrists wide, practically choking the power right out of them! Her eyes widened in shock as Galen suddenly appeared before her holding her wrists, asking in a rather nice tone if she wanted to learn how to fight.
What a question.
He certainly knew how to ask things alright. Grab a girl by the wrists, hold her still and ask if she wants something from him... Wow. If she knew how to connect the dots, she'd have come to a rather nasty conclusion. Even so, she stared up into the man's apparently gentle eyes, her gaze edged with skeptism. She didn't like that smile on his face, not while he was holding her like this. It felt so... wrong. Invasive. It was like he had his motives RIGHT in her face and he was only taunting her with that gentlemanly smile.
"...If I said 'yes', will you let me go?" Liari asked, glaring up at Galen somewhat defiantly.
Her eyes didn't hide the suspicion she had and Galen could understand that. Her answer made him sigh though and Galen closed his eyes for a moment, letting go of her hand, freeing her from his grasp. He slowly opened his eyes, staring right back at her dark sclera eyes. "I don't want to force you to do something you don't want, so you don't have to feel pushed to answer in a way it will please me, Liari." he said in a kinda and understanding tone.
Galen took a couple steps backwards, putting some distance in between them once again and rested both his hands on his waist. "It's just... You don't really know how to fight, and if you are here in Hell it means somebody killed you. While to be sent here you must have done some wrongs, I have a feeling you didn't really mean to do it. I may be wrong, but that's just how I feel anyway." he said, arching one of his brows, as if he was unsure of his words. "In any case, I was just thinking that maybe if I were to train you, I could help you out. In more than one way, if that makes sense." and after he said that, he shrugged and opened his arms, as if it truly wasn't up to him.
"But like I said, I don't force people to do what they don't want to. I'm training to be the Guardian in order to understand and guide, not to judge and punish." he added with a nod.
Liari ripped her hands free of the man's grasp in a huff, rubbing her wrists with distaste as if rub out the pain he'd caused her. Well! He knew just how to talk to a lady, didn't he? Telling her she wasn't good at fighting THEN reminding her she screwed up bad enough in life to end up down here in the realm of eternal damnation. Yeah... She was proud to be in this guy's presence. True guardian material, this one. He attempted to reiterate his point by claiming that if he trained her, he'd be able to help her in more than one way, but what ways he were referring too remained unclear. No doubt he meant get her stronger so that she could dodge like she was in (the matrix) slow motion, but what... was he thinking to transform her personality over night? Make her into a nice cuddly pumpkin of goodness or something? Was he truly so confident in his teaching skills? If his talents of persuasion were any indication, she was less than enthused to stay within eye-sight range of this guy.
...HOWEVER
He was very strong... And if he was willing to give away his secrets so easily, she was compelled to oblige. More strength meant more power meant more fun! And more things to impress Isabella with when she got back! As much as she disliked this man, his training secrets would be things she wouldn't turn down. Not here to judge or punish... Heh.
"...Fine. I accept your offer." Liari rolled her eyes with a dismissive sigh, crossing her arms in a childish fashion. "Teach me how to fight." Her tone was flat, if neutral, her sigh more or less expelling the animosity towards Galen. He'd have to earn her distaste yet again. Liari stood ready to receive instruction, to become EVEN stronger than she had already. Power was key... It meant a lot in this universe in which they lived.
Galen didn't quite understand all the animosity Liari had against him but he figured there was little he could do about it right now, so he decided to shrug it off. "Okay..." he cautiously said as he stared at her, not really seeing a sword, but then an idea struck him and he cracked his wide smile once again at the same time he unsheathed the sword from his scabbard. "I lost my sword when I died, but when I got my body back, this new sword came with it and while it looks like the one I had, I know it's not the same... I figure, much akin to our clothes, we can materialize such materials, so..." pausing for a moment, Galen stretched his arms with the tip of the blade pointing to the ground beneath them. He left enough room in the hilt so she could grab the sword to herself.
"Even though I've been trained in more than one style, I can't claim mastery over any of those, except for the Kikoukenjutsu Sword School. This is the style I mastered on my own after years of practice, and one I hold dear in my heart." and his tone was - like usual - kind and sincere. "And this sword, despite being a replica, was the only memento I had left from my home village." and even though he smiled, there were some traces of sadness inside his brown eyes. "I know it doesn't mean anything to you, but I just wanted you to know I'm teaching things I feel are quite valuable not only for their usage in battle, but also because of the emotional weight they have." he further explained, waiting for Liari to grab the sword so they could begin.
On the scabbard on his back a new sword would sprout once Liari had grabbed the sword he offered her. Being dead had it's perks, right?
Liari watched him cautiously as he did her, the two of them sharing a moment of slight hostility before Galen cracked a friendly smile. Liari looked at him strangely as he offered his blade out to her, remarking that a perk of being dead was just manifesting weapons and clothing like nothing. Well... no, she could do that by herself anyway with her magic but whatever floated his boat... She looked at the sword he offered her then back at him with a sideways glance, wondering why he was going to train a majin with such a weapon. Cuts like these were the easiest to regenerate from... What good would this school do against a race that made such wounds look like paper-cuts? Maybe the sword was weighted or something and this was just to get her accustomed to higher-stress training... It didn't look big enough to be so heavy but hey... the universe was a vast and strange place.
The little blue majin took the sword from the human with relative ease, flipping it over in her grip so that it's blade now pointed up than down, bringing it up in a slow arc both to not threaten her new master and to test it's weight. It was a pretty weapon, nice balance, well made, double-edged. Felt nice to hold but she still had her reservations. She much preferred her HEAVIER, more monstrous cub-of-a-blade in her buster-sword, making her swings far more devastating with all that power behind them... Ugh... Whatever. She'd adapt. She glanced up from her observing the blade back to the man who's smile was now tainted with dark, mentioning that this blade was but a replica and that he lost the original when he died. Even so, he held it dear to his heart fore it was a memento of his home. That message struck home, though she wouldn't show it too much.
She could understand what this sword represented and she respected it. Liari had no "Home" as Galen would understand it. She'd been out and away in space far too long in her ancient life, moving from place to place and never staying for too long. Earth was just the most recent in a long line of planets, as was namek... ending in Hell. She supposed this was her "home" now. She gripped the sword a little tighter, not wanting to let it drop and disrespect it's purpose. T'was a memento after all.
"I see." Liari murmured, gripping the blade with her other hand, holding it out in front of her cautiously and taking a step back or two so she didn't threaten Galen's space. So... she was learning the Keeeyo-ken-jutsu-school-thingy was she...? And somehow it had something to do with this sword...
"... So what do I do with it...?" Liari asked with a slightly sheepish grin, completing her thought.
He was happy she was being respectful with the sword, although quite reticent about yielding it. In a sense, Galen believed that weapons were good against a Majin, since they were kind of "rubber" in the way their body worked, slashing and piercing types of damage should work better than concussion. Therefore, if she knew how to fight with a sword, it would also mean knowing how to fight AGAINST a sword, and that would definitely come in hand for her. He chuckled at that thought, but kept it to himself; it was part of her training figuring out as much. "Hehehe, now you are to try make it feel like an extension of your body. It's easier said than done and required me years of practice! But I don't know why you strike me as a fast learner. I mean, you are a Majin, which means you have much more potential than a human like me! Hehehehe!" and even though he was somehow belittling his own race, he didn't seem to mind that much; Galen had made peace with the fact that humans can't really compete directly with most other races and therefore he was now focusing on providing proper support to his allies in his duty as a protector.
"But, for reference, this is what you are to aim for!" and upon saying that, he cracked a kind of mischievous grin and dashed forward, getting close enough to Liari so he could perform a series of strong, focused and deadly sword slashes against her, aiming to cause some serious cuts, but not to chop off her parts; he figured it would be too much of a hassle to regenerate even for a Majin like her and he wanted her to keep up with the training anyways.
Galen's Stamina 4/4 > 3/4
Using [BG][OT-1] Sword Slash: The user performs a series of swift sword strikes within close range of their enemy. [25% Damage] Tech PL 278,544
Liari just kept on blushing as Galen kept his compliments high, stating that he struck her as a fast learner. Her moment of reveling didn't last long, however as it gave-way to thoughtfulness, giving her blade a little test-swing as she thought about what he said. Because she was a majin...? It never occurred to her that she had been progressing fast... It was the same speed she'd always been improving but here this man was, stating that because of her nature, she was likely going to pick up swordplay a lot easier. It took Galen YEARS to learn how to swing a piece of sharp metal...? How complicated could it be? WELL She would soon find out as the human came at her with a flurry of stabs and slashes, precise and deliberate! Liari yelped, raising her blade in time to deflect the first couple strikes, pushing a stab to the side with the flat of her blade, locking swords with a powerful swing but very quickly, Liari would start to get overwhelmed. A stab here, pierced her arm, cutting it half-off about the middle of her upper arm! a cut there across her face took out one of her eyes, making it nearly impossible to defend from that angle! She was also fighting one-armed too so even matching Galen's strength was out of the question! His technique was simply too great!
Stab to the leg, taking it out from under her, cut across the other eye, fully blinding her, slash across her chest, her stomach, before long, Liari was lying flat on her back heaving and clutching at her wounds as her body struggled to close all the wounds! What even WAS that...? One instant, she was meeting him and the next, he completely ran her over! How...? Why...?
"Uuuuhn..." SHe moaned pitifully, her chest-wounds closing as she cried out in pain. "That huuuuuurts...." As her eyes grew back, her silver gaze flicked down towards the swordsman, both impressed... and embarrassed... Ugh... She was supposed to do that...? How in hell was she supposed to mimic THAT!?
Eventually, her wounds globbed back together, the little blue majin rising to her feet, huffing and puffing after how much DAMAGE those swings had done... Picking her sword back up, she raised it in an offensive stance before LUNGING at Galen with all her majin potential, hoping to draw on that potential he spoke so highly of earlier! She unleashed her own barrage of sword-slashes, cutting and slashing at her teacher in an crude attempt to copy his attack! She stabbed at his gut with her blade, cut at his arms but mainly she focused on disarming him, knowing that his body couldn't take near the punishment hers could... Took dat damage LEARNING [BG][OT-1] Sword Slash, officially making Liari part of Galen's Sword School! (203,668) 2/3 stamina
Just like he had expected, Liari was an absurdly quick learner and after witnessing the technique he refined through years of intense practice, she managed to replicate it - with her own flavor, of course - but good enough for him to be confident she had understood the basic principles of the Kikoukenjutsu Sword School. If it wasn't for the fact that Galen was quite seasoned and an expert swordsman, he would be into some serious trouble because, unlike the Majin, his body wasn't nearly as resistant to damage. The human skillfully blocked her sword slashes as they came, using the flat side of his blade and letting her own blade slide by it; he was blocking without absorbing all the impact which made things far easier, showing her just how much potential one could achieve by subjecting themselves to a more formal training.
At moments it seemed as if she was just about to actually hit him only for him to twist his blade and deflect the attack and it went on and on until she stopped her assault and he took a deep breathe, cracking a somewhat satisfied smile on his face. "That was impressive, Liari! You managed to understand it from seeing it once! You Majin folk have crazy potential!" and he meant every word he said. Galen chuckled a bit. "But I hope you were also paying attention to the way I blocked, because that's also part of your training on how to correctly handle a sword under the principles of the Kikoukenjutsu Sword School." he calmly explained as he slid back into his fighting stance, dashing towards her with another flurry of strikes, though not quite as deadly as the ones before. "Show me how much you evolved!" he shouted as he closed in.
Their training was far from over.
Galen's Stamina 3/4 > 4/4
Blocked the full extent of the attack Attacked once again
As she swung her blade, poking and slashing at Galen's guard, the man deflected each and every one of of her strikes with the flat of his blade. With agility and professionalism, the superior swordsman shoved her strikes to the side, deflecting them rather than taking them head on. In fact, so impervious was his guard, he casually pushed aside her entire offense, chatting while he did so! As her various attacks came to an end, commenting how good she was doing and reinforcing his belief in her kind's adaptation. She would've blushed, but she was far too focused on the danger in front of her to care overmuch. She too hoped she saw enough of this guy's guard... because his attack was incoming, slashing and stabbing as quick and precise as before!
She knew that falling purely back on her offense would be the quickest route down to the ground with a hole in her chest so, instead she raised her blade and engaged Galen in a duel of swords, their blades clashing in a shower of sparks! While Galen seemed to be taking this fight in his stride, his movements fluid and natural, Liari seemed so much more focused, tunnel-visioned perhaps, her attention only divided between the incoming strikes of her teacher and the direction of her own. Liari pushed away Galen's blows as best she could, twisting her sword to throw some off, parrying others by shoving them wide with the flat of hers... Even though she was doing far better than before, only suffering nicks and scratches rather than BIG gaping wounds, it was clear she was still at a disadvantage... She, a majin, was growing weaker while Galen's power remained constant, her attacks growing wild while his remained controlled. Her defense was showing chips and dents while his remained steadfast, clear markers of who was the stronger warrior, let alone the better swordsman.
With a well-targeted thrust, Galen's sword smashed right throw the majin's waning guard, piercing her right through the throat, her eyes shooting wide as she nearly dropped her sword, staring down at the sharp piece of steel running her through... She would back out of the razor-sharp weapon, her wound healing as she did so, huffing and puffing as the rest of her scratches followed suit... That was much easier than that first flurry he threw at her but still, her offense fell just short... She was certain she was making headway... SO CLOSE to just matching him if only for a moment..
She wasn't quite ready to give up just yet though, holding her blade up in a challenging manner, despite the clear exhaustion on her face... Droplets of sweat ran down her cheek and off her chin, her guard dropped a tad and her stance a tad off... But she still had enough in her for one more clash of blades before her body gave out on her... She was in pain... but giving up was for weaklings! Liari wasn't weak! She'd prove it even at the cost of her body!... Again!
"*Huff... Huff...* How... how was that...?" She asked, doing very little to conceal her exhaustion. "B-better...?"
LEARNING [BG][OT-1] Sword Slash (203,668) 1/3 stamina Take 19,147
Galen’s assault wasn’t as intense as it was before, when he was showing her the Sword Slash, but then again, Liari used the technique one more time, almost perfectly clashing against the human’s flurry of strikes and he couldn’t help but to feel quite proud of her development, which was made obvious by the happy smile on his face as he finished the strikes, giggling a bit. ”Good job! Even though the way you move is a bit different than I, you got the concept of it and that’s enough! Congratulations on learning the basic technique of the style.” he nodded his head.
However, Galen didn’t go back to a more relaxed stance. No, if anything, he tensed up a bit more and seemed to be getting ready to attack again. ”But Kikoukenjutsu school doesn’t rely solely on sword strikes, we also use our energies together with our blades!” and his gentle smile became a bit more mischievous, almost as if he was ready to pull a prank on the Majin. ”This one is a bitty trickier, but I have a feeling you will like it better. Somehow I feel the next technique will suit you a bit more!” and upon saying that he dashed towards her once again.
As he got close, he leaped high into the skies, getting his sword above his head and as he fell, he came down with a vertical slash that was quite ferocious. Following that he would attack her multiple times. He was holding back, of course, but it was fairly obvious the goal of this attack: to chop the opponent down to tiny pieces. Once he finished that, however, the attack wasn’t over! His blade went away from her but his free hand - in the form of an open palm - was pointed at her and blasted a yellow energy wave that would only further damage - vaporize in some cases - whatever remained of the opponent. ”Shining Sword Slash!” he shouted as he fired the final attack.
That was a kill move, even though he wasn’t actually aiming to kill her or chop her to pieces.
Galen’s Stamina 4/4 > ¾
Using [OT-1] Shining Sword Attack: The user flies up and comes down to vertically slash the opponent with his sword. Next, he slashes the opponent multiple times, aiming to cut him into bits. Finally, the user draws his hand back and brings it forward to fire a yellow energy wave at what's left of the opponent, inflicting a high amount of damage. [25% Damage] PL 278,544
Liari nearly dropped her blade as Galen congratulated her on a job well done, expecting that perhaps she could get a moment of rest. Her exhaustion was quite apparent and he could no-doubt tell that she was nearing the border of collapse... Her legs were shaky, her stance was all but gone and the human before her was still as fresh as the moment they started this training. His compliments were starting to run stale at this point... She didn't feel like she was making any real progress, especially against him. Didn't he have any rocks or something they could practice this stuff on...? Why did she have to fight someone who could throw her around like she was nothing...? In anycase, his compliments started to sound a little patronizing... Whether or not that was his intention, Liari's bitterness towards the lack of headway made it appear so.
She blinked as she saw a smile spread across the human's face, declaring that this next technique would suit her more!
"...W-wait-" Liari gasped out but the Man was already in the air, coming down on her like a meteorite! Scrambling to raise her guard, the little blue majin lifted her blade, attempting to deflect his attack as it came down... but his sword seemed to pass right through her own, then through her!
... For an instant, nothing happened... She didn't feel anything... Did he miss...? How- Suddenly, her vision began shift in the most disorienting of fashions, her left side falling left, her right side falling right, splitting down the middle as the sword she was given split in two where she attempted to block! The little blue majin was speechless nor did she have any time to recover as the man went about chopping her into tiny TINY bits with his blade before BLASTING HER TO DUST without an apparent care in the world! Everything went black... For the longest time, everything was dark... She couldn't see, everything was pain... The little blue majin floated about Hell where she once stood as a cloud of faded blue dust, the remnants of a person. Eventually, the dust began to come together, coagulate and solidify in the shape of a person, Liari popping back into existance a moment later before falling to her hands and knees, heaving... nearly on the verge of vomiting due to the sheer AGONY of that experience!
She was starting to think he didn't care about her.... Just because she could survive more didn't mean she felt any less pain! Galen either didn't know that or didn't care... He was perfectly content with nearly killing her it seemed to get his stupid lessons across RIGHT after acknowledging how good she was at learning things... He felt like a cruel master despite that stupid grin he had on his stupid face. He... he thought this was some kind of prank...? That this was FUNNY!? What would've happened if she DIED right then!? Nerves began to pop up around her head and arms as she bared her jagged fang-like teeth, her eyes flashing an enraged sanguine.
"W-why do you keep doing that..." She gasped, referring to the dismemberment and near-death just now. "I-is it funny to you...? What d-did I do to deserve you cutting me up like that!?"
TOOK that damage. Can't take another hit like that Stam 2/3
It was a bit odd that Liari wasn’t even trying to react to his assault and he didn’t fail to notice that, but he continued nonetheless; it was imperious that she was to learn this technique. Deep inside Galen was concerned; with Cornatto and the other powerhouses gone, the universe was vulnerable and while he was still dead, he didn’t know who could protect the world in case it needed it. Jie Shan, as far as he knew, had gone missing and so was Flare, meaning there was basically no one back home who could protect it. He had a feeling he had to do something about that, he need a contingency plan and people capable of filling in the shoes of the strongest warriors for this kind of situation.
Liari, while still on the gray line between good and evil, was a hope and he was being harsh with her because she needed to drop a little bit of her goofy and innocent behavior. As he was done with that he sheathed his sword and waited for her to regenerate. Truth be told, he wasn’t expecting her to be so injured because he was hoping she would fight back again, so it backfired a little and she was in a more dire situation than he intended on putting her at and because of that he felt a bit embarrassed.
[Dropped Kaioken. Current PL: 668,505]
The red ki aura around his body vanished as he dropped back to his regularly empowered human form. Galen scratched the back of his head, gazing away for a moment as her body fully restored in front of him. He felt a bit worse when she asked why he was doing that, if it was funny to him and what she did to deserve that. He took a very deep breathe, still without staring at her. ”I was kinda hoping you would fight back, so I went way overboard and I apologize for that…” he said as he closed his eyes, taking another deep breathe.
Then, his apologetical feature turned into a more serious one as he stared at her, opening his brown eyes. ”But I don’t regret the fact that I’m training you. I’m not doing that to punish you or enjoying beating you, Liari. The world of the living is a dangerous place, with plenty of evil people lurking around. You died, I died. This is enough to proof to you that it is indeed dangerous.” he paused for a bit, folding his arms in front of his chest. ”And still, I don’t intend on spending the rest of eternity here in the afterlife, and I don’t want you to stay here either. You have potential, both as a warrior and as a person and I want you to have a second chance, a chance to turn your life around.” he mentioned that because of the fact that she was indeed condemned to hell.
”As things currently stand, you are an easy target, way too easy to defeat and to kill, despite the perks of your race. What I want, however, is to give you a better chance. It’s by no means a guarantee you will be able to survive, I myself died while facing Caesar, no matter how much I had trained, but it does increase your chances.” he added, furrowing his brows a little. ”So, don’t come at me with that. If there was a better way to do it, I would. But we don’t have enough time, and if you have failed to notice, there are quite a number of Ogres approaching as we speak and they are not very friendly towards souls that are hell-bound.” he warned her.
”Now… Come at me and show me you weren’t just feeling sorry for yourself and was actually paying attention to that technique! Show me you are evolving, show me you will have a better chance when we go back to life!” and for once, his tone was kind and gentle, but quite imperative; he meant every word he had said.
Was... Was he completely insane...? He expected her to fight back against THAT attack? Yeah. His little story about him coming from the upper realms was completely in doubt at this point. He cut through the blade he gave her (a replica of the one he held dear, by the way), stabbed at her, ripped at her body, nearly killed her a second time and... what? He expected her to somehow combat his overwhelming strength? Oh, but that's not where the ridiculousness of this man ended. Nope, it got EVEN worse. See, he claimed he held no malicious intent of the caliber he was accused of. Instead, he merely wished to show her how DANGEROUS the world could be.
Oh. REALLY!?
Liari looked up at Galen completely dumbfounded past the point of effective expression of emotion. She honestly couldn't believe the excuses he was coming up with right now! Maybe if he was talking to a stupid child who hadn't once fought or experienced a life-or-death fight before, that might've been appropriate but she was dead. She knew how damned dangerous this stupid place could be. She was really starting to dislike this man... REALLY dislike him. She saw now that her first negative opinion of this guy didn't come without merit. The majin gritted her teeth as she forced herself to her feet, her lips curling into an repulsed snarl and Galen continued his ramblings, noting as well that she as an "easy target." WELL OF COURSE SHE WAS! HE WAS OVER 3 TIMES HER POWER! Him trying to act like her taking these hits being solely her fault was patently insane!
Oh... You have potential... you can turn your life around... Says the man cutting her to bits and blasting her to dust with a stupid smile on his stupid face. She wondered if he would cut the next person to bits that came down here, telling them too that this was for their own good. Galen mentioned the approach of oncoming ogres but with her power as high as it was, her energy TOWERED over her supposed "jailers". What was HE so afraid of? Perhaps because he was the only one of the two supposed to be here. Maybe because of that, they had sway over him. In her case, she could rip them to pieces with just her tentacles... Maybe she would too. They had no problems of doing the same to the other bodyless souls here...
"'Don't have time' my foot." Liari growled to herself, holding out a hand in front of her. With a flash of energy, her buster-sword manifested in her hands, holding it out in front of her offensively. "Feeling sorry for myself... what a load of trash..." There was that off chance that Galen was indeed trying to teach her some kind of macabre lesson with the constant dismemberment and obliteration, figuring that maybe she, as a majin, could only learn techniques after being hit with them. Maybe he sought to take advantage of her majin nature, being able to throw more power into his attacks and let himself loose more than with other potential students. Maybe he was sincere in his reasoning (as frustrating as that could be) and just didn't know when to stop.
Whatever his reasoning, whether cruel or incompetent, he was offering her power... If she could only put up with this until he had nothing more to teach... She would have to play along for now, endure the suffering he'd thrust upon her and pass his stupid tests. The power he had.... what she COULD have... It might just be worth it. She ignored what passed as encouragement from him, deciding to motivate herself with her own goals instead of his. She wasn't training to avoid death. Only cowards get strong out of fear. She would attain power for but one person and their aspirations.
Nobody else, for nothing else. She didn't fight for causes.
Swallowing her wounded pride, she would preform the technique for him like a dog on a leash, intent on satisfying her master for a treat. She sprung high into the air, raising her massive club-like sword above her head, her arms bulking up as if to compensate for the weight of her weapon. Mimicking his attack, the Majin brought her weapon down in a crushing downward arc, malicious intent visible in the viciousness of her movements. If he'd judge her for it, she'd only look upon him in disdain. Cut her to pieces and he's angry she tries to do the same...?
Hypocrite. Just because she was more durable than he didn't mean she felt any less.
In any case, Liari would unleash a quick, powerful mimicry of Galen's attack, slashing at him with her longer, thicker blade in rapid succession. Her eyes faded into a deeper and deeper red with each cut, nerves bulging across her arms and shoulders as her rage rotated the energy within her faster and faster through her being. Once she delivered the appropriate amount of strikes, She would suddenly reach out with her hand, blasting a massive wave from her palm, spilling over him in a deep pink flash!
Galen could sense the hostility within Liari and somehow he felt like he was failing to teach her anything. The Majin seemed to stubborn and kind of a prick and he was feeling rather disappointed at her and the way she was seeing his teachings. If he was to be completely frank, he was the most understanding teacher he knew. When he trained with Jie Shan, back on Earth, if it wasn’t for the fact that he had senzu beans with him, Galen would’ve died. On top of that, whenever he trained with Cornatto, he was always so badly injured that he couldn’t even move for days and yet, Galen was holding back and using the fact that Liari had a far more resilient body than he did so he could teach her the best way possible.
And yet, she was displeased. And there was absolutely nothing he could do about that.
Without his Kaioken, her next assault was far more dangerous and difficult to deal with. Galen had to put everything he had learned with both Cornatto and Mutaito in order to avoid being badly injured and he did a pretty good job overall. However, she still managed to breach through his defenses and land a couple of slashes and that left him almost entirely open to the ki blast in the end; if he didn’t know the technique, things wouldn’t be looking bright to the human. Thankfully, though, he was the master of this style and managed to cross his arms in front of his body in the final moment, thus reducing the amount of damage he had received.
It was over then. She had mastered the second technique and, for today, he felt like they were done. To be quite frank, she would have to work a lot on her attitude before he felt confident enough to further teach her. Maybe time would make her understand how things were and the reason why he was so adamant she had to learn it quick. The ki energies were approaching quickly and by the looks of it, it was more than half a dozen Ogres, quite concerned about the clash of powers on the depths of Hell and no matter how strong she believed she was, against their numbers and special powers, there was little to be done.
”Well… Believe what you may.” he bluntly said, with a serious expression on his face. ”You still lack discipline and insight and you are quick to anger and strikes me as one to hold grudges, even if no grudged are deemed. But… I hope my teachings will help you, even if you must take your time to fully digest them. Come look for me again when you understand it a little better.” he explained and his tone was clearly showing that he was hasting and that it was most likely due to the energies approaching.
”Despite everything, I don’t want you to get in trouble. I pretty much get a free pass since I’m not Hell-bound, but I will do you a final favor and take you to the exit of this place. The choice between remaining here or going back to the world of the living will be entirely yours, though.” and upon saying that, Galen placed a little contained in the ground, opening the lid.
Then, his eyes stared at Liari and he pointed both his hands at her. ”It will be a bit uncomfortable, so I hope you can understand it and not hold it against me, but again, that’s up to you….” he said before frowning his brows as green spiral energy manifested around his arms. ”MAFUUBA!!!” he shouted as he fired the absurdly fast and powerful energy wave towards her, aiming to contain her in the sealing technique and then place her in the small container he had previously place on the ground. Considering her potential, he believed there was no way she could avoid the technique at this point.
Galen’s Stamina 4/4 > 1/4
Blocked PL 167,126 and took the rest of the damage.
Learning and using: [ULTIMATE] Evil Containment Wave: This technique designed to seal evil opponents away by sucking them into a container with a special "Demon Seal" ofuda on it. The move requires huge stamina and endurance to perform, if user does not have enough life force they will die soon after performing it, despite the success of the technique. The technique takes the form of a green energy whirlwind that turns the opponent into pure energy and then, the user proceeds to lock it into a container. Mechanic-wise, the technique requires 2 turns to work. On the first turn the enemy – if hit – is trapped into an inescapable energy whirlwind and can only be saved by outside help cancelling the attack by attacking the user. On the second turn, the enemy is trapped onto the container and sealed, rending him knocked out for the rest of the thread, or until someone breaks the container. If the enemy is freed from the energy whirlwind, he will still be quite drained, thus losing 3 points of stamina. If he is freed from the container, he will be completely drained, with 0 points of stamina. The user can use it up to three charges, but doing so will certainly kill them. The Mafuuba doesn’t kill the opponent nor causes any physical damage, but it’s a quite fast technique and difficult to avoid. [Charges from 200%/250% > 400%/450% > 600%/650%, once hit by the energy, the target can’t escape on his own.]
