{"I can’t believe I willingly stayed out of a battle like that. Well… was it even a battle? The one vastly above the others charged a strong attack, but didn’t do much of anything. Regardless, it was good that I decided to not jump in. I might have found someone suitable for the tournament.'}
Since arriving on Earth, Tomina had been doing all she could to locate strong fighters while remaining on world. She had to stay here for the special training that the Universe 7 representatives would be put through. She had to wait for the team Captain Cornatto to gather the rest of the contestants. Or at least, that was what she was told that she had to do. She decided to meet them halfway and do all she could to gather individuals on this particular planet that showed any promise of strength. Although when she first got here, she thought that it would be a complete waste of time. She had thought to herself:
{"Find strong Earthlings… now there’s a futile task if I’ve ever heard of one. I heard that the Tuffles put up more of a fight when we took over their planet then the actual Earthlings did when we invaded their homeworld."}
The term “strong Earthling” was pretty much an Oxymoron in the Saiyan Empire when Tomina was growing up. It was a joke that went between fellow Saiyans after a particularly disappointing battle. “If only some strong Earthlings were here. We could have had a real fight!” It was a joke that almost never got old. Although it was also a bitter reminder of their failure to ever conquer Earth. Tomina thought that she could rectify that with the recent invasion, but…
{"This place attracts all kind of defenders. Why do other species cherish this place so?"}
Even when she had the might of Nasu and the Saiyan Galactic Kingdom behind her, she had failed, just like her mother had before her. While the way she had personally lost had been humiliating in of its own right, everything she known had gotten thrown out the window shortly after that. Soon she got contacted about a so called tournament of power. She was to participate in it and fight for universe’s survival. If all their fighters failed, then they would be wiped from existence.
{"What a sick joke it is, finding out that your entire way of life has been bringing doom for all the ideals you’ve been fighting for. At least I can kill all those fuckers from the other universe."}
First they needed a team of strong fighters. And hopefully this one would accept the invitation. Tomina hadn’t felt this one’s aura from the invasion of Earth. She was sure Cornatto would have invited all the strong people who had participated in that fight. So this individual might be someone that he had overlooked.
Tomina flew onto the estate of a large mansion, where a surprising amount of powers had gathered. None of them were as strong as the one that had brought her here, but they were all also strong individuals. The Saiyan hybrid had been suppressing her energy to keep hidden, but now stopped hiding her energy to announce her presence. The Saiyaness walked up to the large doors and slammed her fist against them a couple of times. It was sure to get someone’s attention. And if it didn’t she could always just bust the doors down. Everyone tended to notice when that happened.
Red eyes had became brown, as they had reached the mansion.
So many people at her level of power, would have been confident enough to say transformations like these, were easy enough to maintain, that there wasn't any use reverting back to a base state. Those sort wouldn't have been wrong, seeing as how her different states, were comparable to a Kold Demon's suppression forms. But whether it was true or not, didn't matter more than her own interests in maintaining such a transformation, day in and day out.
There was a time when she would have gladly left behind such a lithe form of hers, wishing to show off that her power was just far beyond the average, but the time for such things had passed. It was no longer in her interest to act as some beacon of power, as if it would really concern those who deemed themselves protectors of earth. She had proven enough times in the past, so long as she wasn't causing some type of chaos, they weren't likely to show.
More than likely, she would have just drawn in someone far beneath her power, hoping to check things out, as if they were somehow immune to someone of her power killing them. Especially when it wouldn't be likely there would be witnesses. But even those actions had their kind of consequences now.
The alliances she had made, playing for opposing sides, had put her into a position where whatever rage she wanted to enact, needed permission. She would have gladly killed that one inexperienced male Saiyan back on Namek, but doing so would have proved the blonde swordsman's own beliefs, and ruin what she had set up with the group's Overseer. Something similar would have happened, if she had really chosen to end the life of that blonde magician.
The way around it of course, she had already considered not long after having left Namek back then. Pave the way for those meant to cause destruction, into performing it, and she wouldn't be at fault for whatever chaos could ensue from it. The demons that had attacked East City, she was preoccupied escorting a family of Majins she knew of, to really go and stop their destruction. Was stopped by one of their own, that further kept her from assisting the blonde.
It was that sort of thing that allowed leeway for an opposing side to do what they wished, as she was momentarily absent for a reason that could be argued was the 'right' thing to do. Especially when it wasn't exactly her job to stop such forces in the first place. She might have had the power, but she was also the head of Capsule Corp, and dealing with the remains of the population currently still sustaining, was more important than duking things out.
Which is where her biggest argument to any disaster, would be her disappointment for either side. The opposing side doing things that were 'wrong' from the other's perspective, like the demons who attacked East City, unable to do something like maim the blonde, even if it would have been temporary with her Elemi's help. Or hell, doing the job that she had her hands tied with, and kill the girl. It was an example of their incompetence to not do so.
The same goes for the 'good' side, who if they really kept insisting she was a crucial part to earth's safety, was more foolish than she was led to believe. She might have had power now, but it wasn't like this several years ago. What they were trying to push basically assessed to her being the reason for a fall, even if they had managed fine, long before she even came to power. There was no sense or reasoning behind that, and she wasn't going to play a part in it. That was also something they would just have to put up with, knowing they must have gotten into worse arguments, like at the Tree Of Might.
"I'll speed around and personally inform everyone you'll be working with us, though it'll take some time to draft up how things will play out. Don't reveal your true ties, and things will be fine. One of the others will point you towards a spare room."
It wasn't the kind of in-depth explanation she wished she could give, but there were things to check up on over at Capsule Corp, knowing the guys there needed to fill in some gaps. Nothing she couldn't have just answered on the phone, but it was just more satisfying to actually sit and recap the situation.
Leaving the halfling to enter the mansion on her own whim, the interior of things blurring by here and there, reminded her of just how large her group had really grown, and how many jumps she had to really do for this. Her senses was accurate enough to know that there were people currently missing right now.
Her cousin had likely gone out with the silver-haired Vampire, seeing as how Miki was the only Matriarch still in the mansion. Ayumi and Hana were both always around, as was Asuka and Mayu, being the most human ones living here. Wintera's absence brought up a few suspicions in her mind that needed confirming, and both Touka and Amalga being absent, meant they were out patrolling. Lithie had yet to returned from healing the blonde, those Androids were unsurprisingly absent as well, which left the only ki signature that kept becoming out of place in her eyes, the more she had only grew in power.
The current humans were only that way because they were waiting to be turned by her. A decision she wanted to put off, knowing becoming a Vampire would leave one infertile, among other things. Power was meant to be inconsequential, and as the queen, would also mean prying into their head now and again.
But she had no reason to push their efforts. Plenty of them had been around here long enough to know how she had wanted things. It went without saying it was to be done in a timely manner. That this wasn't something to push off for another day or forget about. She could have easily been someone more forceful. The fact that she had stopped flaunting her power, even around here, should have been something they took into consideration just as well.
"Look, it's been something I've considered for awhile now, but Wintera choosing to leave was the last straw. Your place here is no longer needed, as the other Matriarchs have grown fast enough to handle their own, and Amalga isn't someone whose growth requires rushing. I'm dismissing your ties here, though if you really wish to work for anyone, I'll allow you to take a spacepod and follow after Wintera to Bris."
Going around the mansion and informing those who were left of the halfling's existence, she had saved her visit to the Supidoan for last. From what she had gotten out of her time together with the Kold Demon, it was natural and fitting to have the blue alien working for the other. With his ties being cut from her, and knowing that he actually likely would follow after the Kold Demon, she could also possibly prepare for the inevitable on attacking the planet.
They would need more time to settle in, and she still needed to work with the demons to pull it off, but Bris should wind up falling as well, while the refugees stayed on the planet. Worst case scenario, the Kold Demon would wind up attacking the planet by herself, with the Supidoan going to assist things.
It was just as unsurprising to find the blue alien had taken the news rather well, like a soldier that was still active in a war, being told he was switching to some different commander. She watched his body rapidly vibrate until he was nothing more than a blur, as he left, and would be the first presence that would greet whatever arrival had loudly showed up with that kind of banging. Her other forms wouldn't be needed just yet, but there certainly could have been more opportune ways to give a visit to someone like her. It came off as some act of desperation, that they seemed so insistent about things.
She rushed off after the blue alien, briefly stopping to shoo away the two shy girls from greeting this presence. The door was opened up by the Supidoan, whose body was vibrating so constantly, there was only a glimpse of what he looked like, as he flew over the visitor and ran to the back of the mansion.
She had appeared in the spot that he was supposed to have stopped at, brown eyes staring at the woman who just looked more like a Saiyan to her. One she doubted had any ties to the Saiyan Alliance, if her suspicions were right. Both Satsu and Yasai were both rather carefree compared to this broad.
"What business do you have here? You're clearly from that broken off half from the Saiyan Alliance, if you're really slamming on doors. It's more a sign of desperation than urgency."
It was a good thing the material the thing was made out of, was supposed to withstand a few good hits. Even so, she found herself giving a glance at the door anyway, as if to prove a point. If this was enough to produce some kind of smart mouth of a reply, then she wasn't going to be particularly surprised.
The Saiyan she had left on Namek had said enough about what she thought, for her to be used to this kind of thing. Though recently only coming from dealing with the blonde, she had been hoping she could have gotten a few hours to just sit around, before dealing with anything that could have spawn an argument.
There was supposed to be comfort in power as well, which this woman clearly didn't have, if she was this insistent.
(Refer to this, minus the red eyes, for appearance.)

It didn't take long for her knock to get answered. Although the greeting she got was rather unusual to say the least. The first being to greet her was vibrating at such a fast speed that it was a little hard to make out. They then quickly flew over her head and out of view. Although not quickly enough for Tomina to turn her head to the side and identify the alien. {"I didn't expect to see a Supidoan here of all places. This individual has managed to but together quite the menagerie of creatures. Are they building an army? It would be a formidable one if that was the case."}
The next person to greet her was the one with the really strong power level. They… looked like a teen human. Although her energy signature indicated that she was much more than that. When they commented on her knocking, Tomina let out a snort.
“Ha! I’m not desperate enough to join your oversized orphanage for extraterrestrials. I just knocked that loudly so that you couldn’t complain if you didn’t answer the door and I had to smash it in. That's a good one though, I’ll have to admit. It is an impressive structure though. Where did you travel from to settle down here?”
Tomina had never encountered a Vampire before. She didn’t even know the word “vampire” existed. She assumed Rukia was an immigrant since all the strong individuals on Earth weren't native to the planet. Tomina decided to get to the point of her visit.
“I don’t like beating around the bush, so I’ll just cut to the chase. I’m here for you and your power. Do you believe in the afterlife?”
Tomina slid her hands to her waist, waiting for this individual to respond to her unusual question. It was a strange thing to ask out of the blue, but Tomina didn't know of a easy way to transition into the subject matter she wished to talk about with this person. This was probably going to be a pain to explain no matter what she did.
A yes man, an idiot, or even someone too loyal for their own good.
Any of the three would have accurately described the Supidoan, for who he was. But with her reach to power only growing as time had went on, and she built herself several alliances that would inevitably shape towards the rule of her own planet, aliens like him were always going to be out of place in her envisioned society. Even if she had made the mistake of turning him into one of her own, it would have just been unbearable to have the guy around.
Too many stories in that mind of his, on battles and situations he had been in, but she could care less about. His morals were too honesty, if she had to put a word to it, than that of her own. Everyone else who currently lived in the mansion, the rational part of her mind, could at least accept.
It was better off severing the ties she had with him, knowing the Kold Demon had left, because it felt like it was done making use of her facilities. That was part of the deal they had made, when she had stopped deciding to send the alien into the healing tank, over and over again. What part of her life that couldn't get past what detesting she had for its multiple transformations, had been relinquished months ago. As expected from growths of power.
She too, had also made use of the Kold Demon enough, to take its techniques for herself. With the alien no longer being under her protection, and the Supidoan likely to follow her suggestion on who to work for next, she wouldn't be at fault for what they did. Could kill them off herself if she had to.
No other two currently under her charge, were likely to give her the same troubles she had with them. The Majin and Saiyan she left on Namek, were likely to continue following her, even with any temptations the Saiyan Alliance could give. They had been together too long for them to just break away from the comfort they were used to, and knew full well more than the others, she would kill them like anyone else, if they wished to leave her protection.
She would even go so far as to say they were the winning tickets of her assets, when it came to having the set of morals where, even if it did contrast from her own in one way, would prove to only work out for her. They could be the 'good' that stuck on Namek, while she attended to things elsewhere.
Calling her mansion an orphanage, was a first, as someone who had once invited numerous species into her home, just to study them. None of her past guests, as far as she could recall, had described it as such. There might have been some surprise from seeing the Majin and Saiyan, but that was all it was.
The excuse for the banging on the door was pretty weak, knowing the woman's presence would have been enough. From the feel of things, it was slightly higher than her own, although it wasn't as if she couldn't have achieved double of that, in just a bite. She also had no reason at the moment to really shift into her other forms, especially seeing as how this woman for whatever reason, was assuming that she wasn't from West City. It was difficult to even feel upset or annoyed about that kind of thing, knowing it was also far from being the kind of ignorance she detested. For the continuing moment at the least.
"Call it what you wish, but it's better than what's left of this planet."
West City still sustaining itself, brought attention to itself being a possible target, but whoever tried and wasn't apart of an alliance of hers, she wasn't going to show any mercy for. The city was going to continue holding her interest, so long as she had yet to acquire her own planet.
"Travel? I was born in this city. If you're referring to something else, then my kind also has its origins on this planet."
That was the only thing she could have came up with, on just what the woman must have meant. An even stranger thing to ask than the commentary on her mansion. It wasn't something most people would care about, beyond the surface on how she had power, and fitted in enough to look like she was human.
Even if they knew that she was something else, it still hardly warranted asking her about it, knowing the kind of aliens that were in space, and how those sort were the ones who came to this planet. A lot more so than the other way around, which one would think would have changed within the last 500 years.
The next few words that came from the woman, brought a slight frown to her features, beyond its ending. She had stopped beating around the bush this morning just as well, and where it had gotten her, was what felt like hours of agony, having to listen to reasons she had already stated. Far from being like talking to a brick wall, knowing the new Queen Of Earth, just had no one backing her up, beyond a kitsune that had been dead for long enough.
The voice of this woman, like anyone else who wasn't of her own kin, sounded muffled to her ears, the less she really tried to get into what was being discussed. Whatever this Saiyan had wanted to bring up about the afterlife, and requesting her power of all things, she imagined wasn't going to be favorable in her eyes. Not when she already had such a low opinion of what it was, and that served as all the more reason for her plans to go on.
Why would it matter if she got two sides to kill each other, when they were just going to find their way back into this realm again? She didn't personally know of anyone herself who had died, beyond the man who had gifted her the knowledge in the first place, but she would string along some kind of opportunity, to have them killed if she did. Lives were meant to be lived once, but if they wished to persist, then she could do the same.
"Fine, but if you're anything like the new queen of this planet, I'll be honest and say I'm not interested. That girl kept parroting what was already stated and what she assumed I didn't know, a sound proof wall would have had more sound reasoning."
Her eyes had flickered red, burning with the intensity of a candle, as she thought back to the agony she had to go through earlier today. Time had moved so slowly, and felt so out of her grasp more than it normally did, back then. Here in her own home, where she could at least feel the presence of the Matriarch, who was practically her sister in leadership, she could at least find some form of comfort in it all. Though she was already getting annoyed.
"Believing in the afterlife is different from actually seeing it. I have never died, or even come close, but I know and seen enough to say the meaning of life has no answer. You die and wind up into a cloud, get through check-in, and sent to Heaven or Hell, where both are just planets. There's no eternal rest to be had, like what Anubians are capable of, no endless materialization of desires. No reward to it all beyond what is essentially another life, where existence can be wiped completely. It's no wonder people wind up cheating death and breaking out."
If she was really going to be held here near the door, and talk about a place she so detested, she didn't hesitate in pulling out her phone to text her employees at Capsule Corp. She doubted she was even going to feel like heading there herself, after this kind of unpleasantness. Easier to just text them what happened with the blonde, and fill in the gaps they were missing now, seeing as how the girl had also been mentioned not too long ago.
She had pretty much been pacing throughout what had been a clear rant, but it was a tireless subject to focus on, thinking back to what she knew about it, and it showed in the tone of her voice. She sounded as if she was asked about the subject a lot, and despite clearly hating it, she was willing to talk about it. Planning to reveal this kind of information, was what she had wanted anyway. That dying had no reward behind it, like she at least envisioned.
"If you're already aware about the afterlife, then you have to at least know of Nakiya and Caesar. They're far from being wrong about laughing at death and playing whatever mind games they wish, if a planet is the best that's offered."
Typing her text hadn't taken long, it was proofreading things, and the possibility of this Saiyan, getting upset enough to even touch the thing. This was more pressing than whatever this woman had to tell her, knowing she had already told the blonde that she was going to send the contract by the day's end.
Hitting send, had eased her mind enough to stop thinking about that whole mess.
(Rukia has accessed Refined Control, turning her eyes crimson.)

The Saiyan hybrid chuckled at the Vampire’s crack. This individual seemed to have a more serious demeanor then she did, but that didn’t stop her from being as quick on her feet mentally. It was rare that Tomina ran into someone who she couldn’t outpace easily.
“Well you aren’t wrong. Me and my comrades pretty much made the northern half of the planet uninhabitable. Caesar demolished South City from the sound of things. And now most recently East City has been destroyed as well. Since you were in the area at the time, I presume you had a role in that. I would say you should just find another planet to live on, but planets have been blowing up on a regular basis lately. So living anywhere with breathable air is dangerous at this point.”
Tomina stared at Rukia with a bemused expression when she told here that not only was she born on this planet, but she was also from Earth. Not only that, but her species was born on this planet? How was that even remotely possible?
“Your kind originates from here? Earthlings are supposed to be weak though. I don’t know anything about this new one, but their previous Queen couldn’t do anything against us. We slaughtered her easily, and she was one of the stronger Earthlings I’ve encountered. What exactly are you?”
Tomina still managed to keep her head in things despite how baffled she was by the fact that an Earthling had powerful comparable to some of the stronger fighters of the Saiyan race. Although her eyes widened for a moment as this person let slip just exactly how much she knew about the afterlife. Cornatto hadn’t mentioned this individual before, so he couldn’t have already told her about it. So where had she got this information from? She supposed she would find out soon enough.
The Saiyan hybrid could see that this was not a subject that they weren’t going to enjoy talking about. Well, she was just going to have to swallow it down like some nasty tasting medicine. Although like medicine, she would feel better after taking it in.
“Heh, you’re good at getting information I see. You’ve even told me some things that even I didn’t know about the afterlife. This makes it easier though: I don’t have to waste time trying to convince you that it exists. Since you told me things that I wasn’t aware of, I’ll return the favor and fill in some blanks for you. Although I’m going to have to give you a bit of context first.”
Tomina felt the girl’s energy increase as her eyes turned red. She had released a bit more of her power when she had started talking about the afterlife. This individual appeared to be level headed, although their powers seemed to be tied to their emotions as well. It was one of those things Tomina stored in the back of her head: how people responded to certain things.
Tomina increased her own power accordingly. She entered what she liked to call her Super Saiyan Crimson form. Her hair turned a bright crimson, flowing out behind her like dancing flames. Her sea blue orbs changing from deep blue to a golden shade. The air around her got just a bit warmer as her power increased. It was a very simple message to this individual: I can keep up with anything that you can do.
“I am a member of the Saiyan Galactic Kingdom. We recently invaded Earth and planted the Tree of Might, which was a bio-weapon that sucks the energy from a planet and bears fruit that you can consume to become more powerful. Of course, the inhabitants of this planet didn’t take kindly to that. Which was why the Alliance and their friends came to stop us. Even a God of Creation took part in things. They tried to stop the fighting by saying that the universe had a low Morality Level and it was going to be destroyed if we didn’t stop killing each other. I of course thought it was a bunch of crap. I mean, they were the enemy, so of course they’d want us to stop fighting.”
Tomina scowled as she recalled the ill-fated battle between the two forces. She had gotten a power boost from the fruit, and had come out of it stronger than ever due to a Zenkai boost. It had come at her expense, and the expense of those in the kingdom had died. It was a defeat that Tomina wouldn’t forget. It only made her all the determined to get stronger.
“After we lost and were forced to retreat, an Alliance Saiyan we murdered appeared on our ship and approached me. He confirmed everything that Kai said and told me that he wanted to recruit me for the Tournament of Power. Which involves the strongest fighters of our universe facing off again the strongest of another universe. Apparently both our mortal levels are low, so the losing universe will be erased from existence.”
Tomina gave it time for that to sink in for this person. She knew that she didn't have to explain the distinction between death and being completely erased. There was no way of coming back for the latter. That was how dire the situation was.
“This recruiter was chosen by the God of Destruction herself apparently. Despite her being the most powerful being I’ve ever encountered, she and the rest of the Gods seem to be terrified over this, and the contestants who have been chosen are working with people who they loathe, myself included. I despise all but one person chosen for that tournament. Although that might be about to change.”
Now they were getting to the heart of the matter. Tomina looked the Vampire in the eye, her gaze unwavering before the blood red orbs. She wanted to convey how serious she was about this next part.
“I want you to come and meet the recruiter so that he can include you as a part of the team. You don’t have to go if you don't want to, but the stronger our team, the higher our chances are for survival. But if self-preservation isn’t enough of a selling point to you, there's also a prize that gets handed out to the fighter that performs the best. A wish with the Super Dragonballs. I don't know much about them, but apparently they're more powerful than any other set of wishing orbs. So what say you?”
Tomina did hope that she could convince this person to fight for their universe. This person was not only strong, but cunning as well. She would be quite the valuable asset. Still, there was one more elephant in the room to deal with.
“Caesar is currently one of the fighters in the tournament of power. Given that he’s being forced to participate and thinks the universe should just be erased, it wouldn't surprise me if he turned on us. I don't like the idea of letting Nakiya run amok. If she isn't picked for the tournament, then she could take advantage of the strongest fighters being gone to launch an attack. That is her M.O. after all. She attacked and destroyed Saiya while we were invading Earth. She isn't exactly the most brave of individuals.”
Tomina clenched her fist, the heat around her slightly increasing. The Kingdom had completely lost in more ways in one the day they assaulted Earth. It was a humiliating defeat for every Saiyan in the Kingdom.
“You are right that death is practically meaningless. Well, it is for powerful beings such as you and I. We could break out in a heartbeat. That being said, beings that threaten the existence of the universe must be dealt with. Just simply killing those beings won’t be enough. Even if we win the tournament, the Universe’s mortal level would still be low. Which brings us to the other reason why I came here today.”
Now where was when Tomina decided to go into plans that Cornatto and the others knew nothing of. She was going to go above and beyond once the tournament had concluded.
“First I need to know what your stance is on this issue. Would you do whatever it takes to preserve the Universe? I know you have goals and inspirations. Only the most ambitious beings work to acquire the power that we possess. As long as they don't threaten the existence of the universe, I don't care what they are, nor would I try and interfere in your business like the self-righteous scum tend to do.”
When it came to others being ruthless and committing actions that people with high morals would object to, Tomina didn't judge people for it. She only had issues with them when they put her race in their crosshairs. There were certain people she loathed for a few different reasons, but simply being ambitious was something that Tomina understood.
Tomina didn't know this individual yet, but the pursuit of power was something that she could relate to. The more strength you had, the easier it was to change things. That was the absolute truth of the Universe. The strong could do what they want, and the weak either obeyed or perished. That was the way it had always been, and it would most likely never change.
It had been quite awhile since they've really had this kind of visitor.
She didn't count two particular women that found themselves here awhile ago, knowing they were both from her past, and trying to cash in favors. Feeling as if she owed them for their own reasons. Nothing which she found to be too out of place, as it helped shape her into the person she was now.
Beyond those two, there wasn't really anyone else they had met, who had the gall to come here like this. At the moment, it wasn't insistent enough to be comparable to the blonde. Her own power lacking any real defining change was the proof of that, and one she knew, those currently in the mansion were wondering about. She could feel their presence was close enough to be in earshot, though never really sticking around more than what was necessary.
If she had to have really guess, it seemed more to her like they were keen on getting a look at both their guest, and the situation, passing off their eavesdropping as apart of the mundane tasks the humans here were supposed to do. A bit too bold in her eyes, but that was just their folly.
"My role only involved escorting a family of Majins to this city, I have responsibility for. I'm not obligated to save a city that a great portion had already evacuated anyway, or waste time with any lowly demons. It's that blonde wretch's problem."
The rather casual reveal this woman played a role in north's destruction, was the kind of comfort that came with power, which the new queen of the planet had definitely lacked. She wasn't alone in this whole demolishing, and she could tell from what was being said, it wasn't really reliant on any one event.
The attack wasn't just outright luck, but likely something that was planned, if there was really an army behind it. Something coordinated, and not exactly to pull off. Like how she was banking on the Kold Demon leaving and returning to her planet, would actually push the alien into taking amends for itself.
Using the facilities here, the Kold Demon likely had more than enough power to conquer. The Supidoan serving to be some kind of lookout, and the planet known to be neutral in the first place, wasn't likely to aid the humans in such a disaster. Not if the alien really believed in its xenophobic words.
The just as casual mention of that man, for the moment, she would allow to pass. Her position between these different alliances, she was rather adamant about establishing that it was nothing more than a possibility that she could argue against. She knew she wasn't powerless, but it wasn't the role she signed up for either, getting involved in such things without any gain. At least here in West City, it would be out of line, knowing she had yet to move her assets onto some different planet. The trouble came with having her two Saiyan Alliance guests, not notice that the others would slowly all leave.
A reason why a trip to Namek with those two, would prove to be beneficial. She could have the rest leave, and gather together as much of her own kind off the planet just as well. The only problem with doing so, is this whole meeting with the demon queen, that had still yet to have happened here.
"Which is where you're lacking distinction. Humans are the weak ones, and practically a blank canvas, compared to the rest of the universe. My kind has gone beyond as the undead, blood magic and all. We can practically seal away any being's transformations, if they're willing."
It wasn't everything, but she was disinterested in having to give something more in-depth, as if this was some kind of history lesson. It'd be easier to read the folklore than having to explain what a group of people was. Knowing Saiyans had a history of conquering planets, she'd likely leave it at that.
And here again, was another casual reveal of this one's accomplishments. Taking out the earth queen wasn't some kind of easy feat. She would have done such a thing herself, if it hadn't meant Flare and her friends, wouldn't likely come and stop her. Becoming queen in the first place, back before the kitsune had, was rather also impossible, knowing she had been a fledgling at the time. The chance to take it might have surfaced this morning, but it was a liability now. More shackles that would keep her from seeing out what she had wished, coming across certain beings, and learning of certain issues.
"I won't give an in-depth explanation, as it's easier to just look up earth records of Vampires. There's lots of exaggerations and inaccuracies here and there, but it's only because one of the ancient ones wanted the society a secret. That'll change given a moment. As far as I had kept up with and knew, I don't believe that kitsune had ever really trained, though taking her down proves to be favorable for some."
The demons, but mostly herself. Earth now had a queen that was more than unqualified in her eyes, with this whole refusal to work with Capsule Corp. As the only standing city and head of the corporation, she'd be able to work on one thing or another, for as long as necessary for these demons to put together an army for another attack on earth. Whether that would drag this one's faction as well for whatever reason, would only be beneficial for her.
Both sides would wind up hurting the other in number, while her own casualties would remain minimal, knowing the effort she'd really need to exert, would be sending two through four of her best. The others would be elsewhere, possibly saving what needed to be saved, and getting into minimal conflicts that wouldn't place them anywhere near either side's best. Or hell, they could have easily been off the planet, beyond her just sending those four.
The afterlife was a subject she didn't feel like it was a loss revealing, no matter how minimal someone actually knew of it. She despised it greatly, and really, it would only prove to be beneficial for someone like this woman, to know what it was like. That death didn't really have no consequences.
"Nothing that would be a loss. The one thing that's disappointing, is seeing demons still fear what should be lesser than what goes on in their realm."
Though it still remained to be the kind of leverage that allowed her to even set up a meeting with the queen in the first place. If it came too late, then she would merely fall back on working with the Saiyans, and wasting no time with vaporizing their forces, the next time the opportunity came to do so.
The matching increase in power that came from the woman, down to the hair flowing around like flames, had practically confirmed that this one was half Elemi. It was possibly one of the worst combinations when it came to personality, next to demons, though she wasn't at the end of this one just yet.
"Elemi's an interesting heritage. I suppose you must have met Flare and her friends then. A fiery woman for sure, that really should have taken the queen position of this planet."
The context that this one had spoken of, had some interesting information for sure. This talk about a morality level, and a Kai being involved just as well. But then there was the beef of where things seemed to be leading to, which was this whole supposed Tournament Of Power, that was set to happen.
Even so, this woman's heritage and her possibly encountering Flare, had attracted her attention even more than everything else. And she used this pause that the hybrid was giving her, to comment on a few things of what was already being said, going back to highlight one of her own curiosities of the queen position. Just what had the Elemi been doing, that she wouldn't oppose any challengers going for that kind of title, as a proclaimed defender of earth?
"Ignoring this whole morality level at the moment, I'd say the invasion could have gone better in terms of casualties. I know for a fact that there were a handful of Saiyans not apart of your kingdom, who fought against Caesar and just left. Self-proclaimed defenders of earth like Flare and her friends, who wrongfully were allowed to live, because he didn't take the situation seriously enough. I doubt those Saiyans have yet to die either."
The air growing warmer from the woman's transformation, differing from her own in its expelled force, only reminded her of just how easy it would be for her kind to end an entire race, if given permission. The blood magic would just lock away what transformations they would have normally had, and subdue them the stronger they got. She'd equate becoming her kind, into throwing one's life away, knowing the consequence that came with turning into a Vampire.
The rest of what she was told of, introduced an apparently strong Anubian, and she supposed what could be called an offer. Meeting this recruiter should have happened awhile ago, from the sound of things. An offer which she would have gladly turned down and rub in this guy's face, knowing his likely type was asking for her help. The sort who was like the blonde on Namek or the one on this planet, that didn't hesitate into throwing accusations.
There was no problem in doing so, as she had proven this morning she was willing to go back and forth, countering whatever was thrown at her, and marking of it off as just a possibility. Something that could easily happen, if they really wished to spite her. But what these two blondes lacked, that this halfling at least had, was experience, and the power to back it up. The swordsman still had to be the most horrendous of the two, being the type to just fight.
The mention of these Super Dragonballs, was possibly the gain of this offer, although even if they had granted more power than Earth or Namek ones, this was a tournament they were talking about. She was far from being the strongest in the universe, and the winner would clearly hog it to themselves.
"It's rare to hear about Anubians, what with most of them being asleep. I've only met two myself, one of who did give light to the possibility of other universes, if memory serves right. Though it's nothing to get worked up about at this point."
But she supposed it was interesting, that this one was personally picked. The only 'good' she knew of, beyond Flare and her friends, would have been the leader of the Saiyan Alliance, and his people. So where did this guy suddenly seem to pop out from? He couldn't have been apart of the Saiyan Alliance.
She had practically met all of the important ones there, so unless he was apart of the planned revival for Namek, it could prove to complicate things, not considering him. She supposed it was all the more reason to gather what forces they could into conquering earth, and making him the odd one out.
"This whole recruitment thing seems a little overdue, by the sound of things, and the urgency you're making it out to be, likely assumes that a universe's nonexistence would be painful. I'd rather assume it'd be like a blink of an eye, if we're really considering the death of all things."
There was more to this offer of course, and this woman's feelings on it, beyond not wanting the universe to be erased. It would potentially destroyed what she built up, even though the common answer, at least for earthlings, would be hiding in some shelter to prepare for the universe's last seconds.
"The reward you're also using to try and convince me, also assumes what wishes that could come from it, would be multiple and shared. Seeing as how it's a tournament, the likely case is, the strongest of this universe and winner of the tournament would keep it to themselves. If it's not the Overseer of the Saiyan Alliance, your leader, or Caesar, then it's someone unknown. What's also keeping the ones setting up this tournament, from allowing people to poof up more warriors, than what's likely already in mind. It all must be some kind of entertainment for the host in the first place."
That was just the usual case with these things. There were more efficient ways to make money, and while she might have participated in one once, her interest in doing so again didn't really appeal to her. The people she had already mentioned, she would have thought, would have been enough.
"Perhaps it's different in other cultures, that my past research of the universe just hasn't revealed, but here on this planet, earthlings make the most out of the last few hours of an apocalypse doing what society kept them from doing. Some will hide in bunkers, others will create bloodshed, but a majority will likely do some mundane thing far from being around fighting. This still only considers the lack of any invasions, which your doubt on Nakiya being apart of this team, makes it a possibility I would wish to be around for."
More so to help the woman succeed, if she upholds the end of the deal she made with those demons. It could just as easily be an opportunity to kill her if her deal was simply ignored, and wipe off as much demon kind as she could, while this whole tournament happened in likely some kind of other universe.
"I won't lie, there actually was a time when I would have gushed at the chance of being in another universe, but the strength that comes with being a Vampire is consequential, unlike you other beings that expel power from your transformations that shake the planet. The blood magic we're composed of makes it a curse, a disease comparable to the side effects of lobotomy, if only when around those not of our kind. Though I wouldn't say it's regrettable. Power is meant to be consequential, no matter what delusions can come from using it in a certain way one defines as good."
She could feel her body blur, as more than the intensity of her eyes had started to change, her physique growing until she looked like her current age, rather than some kind of young teen that was still going through puberty. Though still nowhere near what one would expect a queen, let alone the mother of Vampires, to really look like. She was sure the Elemi could have matched it if she had wanted to, as if it was some kind of game between them.
But if her ascensions into her other forms had really meant anything at all, it was that she was feeling less youthful as the conversation had went on, and the focus needed required the strength of the others, if she were to really give this woman the proper time of day with this whole offer going on.
"Forced has too much confidence in what you're insisting, than who he really is. I'm positive he must have taunted that Anubian for more than she's worth and settled on an agreement. I see nothing wrong with Nakiya pursuing her own plans either, seeing she had the opportunity for it.
From the sounds of it, there should have been someone left to defend the planet, whether you believe your hands were tied or not. If her likely plan, knowing her heritage as a demon, would be wiping out non-demons, then I suppose your leader has some plan to wipe out non-Saiyans. It's an eye for an eye, and should have been expected something in the plan was going to go wrong."
The reaction she was seeing from the woman as she mentioned that man, made her believe it must have been the new home planet or whatever. She wasn't hearing anything about the planet being defended by someone, so that was likely just some high ride on success, with this whole Tree Of Might ordeal.
"And that's where you're right. Even if the universe was spared from being wiped, what's supposed to happen between your Kingdom and other factions? What's keeping the peace until this mortal level recovers? This whole thing isn't, nor shouldn't have ever be knowledge mortals are supposed to have. It brings forth nihilistic views, which I currently can sympathize with at the moment, knowing this stuff can't also just be wiped from people's memories, if it wishes to be fixed."
It sounded easier to just wipe off the universe, or reset the population, if these dragonballs were supposed to be stronger than others. It just seemed too unbelievable to trust those who weren't deities with this information, and expect them to uphold it. And for an uncertain amount of time just as well.
"My position would be prying into these other and more successful universes, and seeing what they're doing right, because it's ludicrous not to kill beings like a Majin who turned away from being docile, and pursued power. Knowing this universe strongest will likely wind up consisting of part-Saiyans, I suggest visiting Namek, and finding a Namekian, to use their regeneration.
If this other universe is doing similarly worse, then the power levels shouldn't be too far apart from each other, because in the end, you're assuming this recruiter hasn't already picked out the rest of the team himself if he's managed to miss me. I doubt he's anyone I've ever heard of either, which makes it all the more strange he's the leader, who should actually be the strongest."
It wasn't rejection, but more acknowledgment this guy likely already had people in mind he just wasn't sharing.

Tomina could feel the presence of some of the other inhabitants of the mansion get close. Even if Tomina didn’t intend on fighting anyone, she always did pay attention to her surroundings. It was the natural state of mind of a Saiyan who grew up in the Empire such as herself: she was constantly on alert, even when she seemed like she was at ease. Only very rarely was she so focused on one activity that lost awareness of everything else.
Although Tomina could honestly say that this was one of those rare instances where she wished she didn’t have to focus on everything at once. When she was just having a conversation with someone. The Elemi hybrid grinned widely at Rukia’s disdain towards beings she didn’t like. Finally, someone who wasn’t a Saiyan was speaking her language!
“So, those rats were scuttling about on this planet? I’d love to send my regards to those demons and that cowardly bitch that they call a Queen, but the tournament plays presidence. Those demons think they’re safe in their little dimension. Rats take comfort in hiding in the walls. But you can always force them out, and then they’ll have nowhere to go.”
Tomina was absolutely furious about what the Demons had done on Saiya. Fortunately she had vented out most of her rage at their actions back on the ship. Besides, she was enjoying the rest of the conversation too much to be bothered by it for long. While she would have to be careful in how she handled things, the demons would suffer the consequences for what they did.
“Beings like you and I shouldn't have to deal with annoying inferior beings. We both have duties and ambitions we wish to fulfil. Whether it's demon scum or a weak Earthling over their head, they need to know their place. From of the sound of things, this new Queen of theirs doesn't realize where things stand. With how much you seem to hate her, I’m surprised you didn’t just kill her. Even if she came back, you would have been rid of this blonde for a time.”
That was the way most many Empire Saiyans dealt with people they didn't like. If you hated someone, you killed them. If for some reason you couldn’t kill them, then you made their life a living hell. Tomina had experienced the latter back in her youth. The best way to deal with that kind of thing was to get stronger then all of them and the return the favors with interest. Well, that was the nice way of putting it. Needless to say, no one gave her crap for being a hybrid after her display of superiority.
This person then talked about her race to her. Before Tomina would have dismissed this as bogus. A race composed of undead people was a ghost story you told around a campfire. Now that she knew about the afterlife and a bit about how the Universe functioned, she was much more open to the existence of unusual beings, among other things.
The name of her race was Vampire. Well she would look into it later, as this individual suggested she should do. Tomina wasn't surprised to be informed that the previous Queen of Earth had no formal training. It was clear that she had been out of her league.
“Inaccuracies or not, I should be able to learn about Vampires from sources on Earth. I’ll sort out what's right and what’s wrong once I witness what your kind is capable of. It isn't just humans that are weak on this planet though. That Queen looked like she was part… fox. Yeah, that's what that creature is referred to on this planet.”
Tomina knowledge on things native to Earth had a few holes in it. When it came to most other planets in the Galaxy, she was practically a walking encyclopedia. You could ask the Saiyan hybrid anything about alien worlds and their inhabitants, and she would give you very detailed responses. If she felt like divulging that information to whoever asked the question.
Barring a few exceptions, she was well versed in the abilities and capabilities of other races. Traveling to many planets and taking part in countless battles meant that she picked up quite a few things. Not only that, but she was also one of the few Saiyans who studied their enemies as much as possible. Tomina had poured over data files filled with information on other species. This way she would be more prepared for a battle.
Yet there was surprisingly little information on Earth. All Tomina really knew is that they were supposedly weak individuals who they could easily conquer. Her mother had very adamant on the matter, saying that they only lost because of the treacherous Natto turned on them in the middle of the fight. Queen Lettis was more than confident about taking Earth, right after she had dealt with the Alliance. Tomina had just assumed she was right and didn’t question it. She would see for herself when they invaded the blue marble.
Now Tomina was starting to get a different picture of things. The wretched Tomoroko had told her that Earth had produced mechanical fighters that were on par with the Super Saiyan Two form. Tomina had dismissed it as Alliance propaganda: there was no way Earth could produce such fighters. That belief was thrown right out the window the moment the Vampire informed her of her origins. That meant that Tomoroko might have been telling the truth. Which annoyed the Saiyan hybrid quite a bit.
Tomina felt like many of her beliefs were being debunked. It was a rather unpleasant feeling in a way she wasn't used to. Tomina pushed forward and continued talking about a Earthling who only had the strength that most Saiyans thought Earthlings had.
“She tried disrupting the charge attacks of our stronger warriors. She must have known she was.outmatched, and yet she kept on doing what she could against us. I wonder what possessed her to fight and not run off before our might. Did she feel safe with strong comrades around her? Was the Earth so important to her that she wanted to do all that she could? Did she had people she cherished so much that they were more important than her own life? What would possess someone to dive headfirst into a situation that was essentially suicide?”
The arrogance of weaker beings that thought they could challenge the Saiyans was laughable. They had the gall to think that they could actually stop them. They could sense that they were out of their league, and yet came at them anyway. It was annoying for any powerful Saiyan seeking a worthy opponent: sometimes they had to squash some insects. While that was fun in its own way, it got old pretty quickly.
“I understand strong beings fighting to the bitter end to keep their planet. Yet she was so weak her attacks only served as a distraction. She did force us to use a charge to kill her, so I suppose her death had meaning behind it. It was maddening though. Earth is a planet where the majority of people don't even know what ki is. Yet they have remained a free planet, completely defying the natural order of things.”
Tomina’s hair glowed briefly for a moment, a few embers flying off from the end of it. Since Tomina was part Elemi, her body often betrayed her and gave out cues that people could pick up on. It was clear that she was agitated when bringing this subject matter up.
“The strong do as they wish and the weak obey or die. That rings true everywhere else in the universe. Despite all the invasions, the Earthlings still have free weaklings living comfortable lives. Where were all these “heros” when we needed them? No one helped us in our two hundred year war against the Kold Demons. Our planet was destroyed and we were pushed to the brink. We used the dragonballs and brought our people back. We acquired the Super Saiyan transformation for the first time in centuries! We earned our freedom, our world with our strength!”
Tomina clenched her fist, squeezing her palm tightly as her voice grew louder. There was a tinge of pride in Tomina’s voice when she was talking about her heritage. She was proud of who she was. Her disdain for Earthlings was becoming quite apparent as well. Tomina lowered her voice back to normal as she continued onward.
“Earth’s freedom is infuriating. They’re all weak beings that should have been easy to subjugate. If they were all strong like you, I could accept that. But no, they have their guardian angels watching over them. They’re an entitled race that takes everything for granted. We had to become powerful to crush our enemies and to protect our worlds. Earth has the luxury of other beings protecting them though. You should know how I feel: that blonde Queen you’ve been insulting claimed a title that should be rightfully yours. You're the strongest Earthling I’ve ever encountered, so you deserve to rule this planet.”
A few more embers flew out from her hair, sputtering out as they hit the ground. Yes, this was a something that got Tomina fired up. Fortunately she was starting to get a little better at controlling herself. Things were made easier when the conversation shifted back to a more fun subject matter. Tomina smirked at the Vampire as she brought up how disappointed she was in demons.
“Well what do you expect? They have fairly strong individuals among them, and yet the majority of them are cowardly beings. They only fight when they feel like they have a huge advantage. The first time Queen Nakiya and her forces fought us on Brench, she was backed up by Caesar’s lackies. The second time she attacked Saiya, she waited until all of our strong warriors were gone to launch an assault. They’re a race that lacks courage of any kind of honor.”
Tomina had accepted that they had made a tactical error and sent all their major forces to Earth. In hindsight that seemed like the right move to do, since even with their full might they still lost the fight. Earth was too well defended to afford leaving someone behind. Yet if there had just been one or more strong people holding the fort, they might still have a planet they could call home.
“I think Demons are like this because Makai is in another dimension. Since their homeworld can’t be accessed by other species easily, they feel like they can cause any kind of trouble they want and then return safely to their home. They’re rather fond of hit and run blitz strategies. Makai’s existence pisses me off as much as Earth does. If it wasn't on another plane, we would have defeated them long ago. The day will come when they won't have that world to fall back on.”
Tomina’s lips curled into a particularly cruel smile. It was the expression she gave when she was looking forward to slaughtering a mighty foe. Dethroning that Queen was going to be particularly enjoyable.
“I’ve learned how to open portals to their realm. The Saiyan race can now access that world at their leisure. Their dimension will be obliterated and their leaders killed. They’ll probably come back, but it will be to a universe that hates them with no place to hide. Of course we have to make sure we don't kill too many of them. We don't want the mortal level to drop much further than it already is.”
Tomina hated the fact that she now had to be more careful on how she approached things. Once upon a time, things were simple for her. See an enemy, kill them. That's how it used to be.
Now she strategically had to plan things to avoid as much casualties as possible on all sides of a fight. Which enemies they killed and spared was now necessary to ensure everything remained in existence. Still, this wouldn't stop her from striking a major blow against those frightened mice.
“Losing their world will crush their spirits. Oh, I have no doubt they'll try and strike back at first. But all it amounts to is just a fish flopping about on dry land. It will get them nowhere and they will no longer be able to do anything. Once they're permanently separated from their natural environment, they will eventually lose the will to fight. The demons shall be taught their place in the universe, and will be stripped of their safety net and live in this cruel universe with the rest of us.”
Tomina scowled, her face darkening the moment Rukia brought up Flare. Oddly enough, she had gotten over yet another planet that comrades were on was destroyed. Flare on the other hand was a sore subject that she had not gotten over yet. Her hair waved more wildly, like flames that created a mighty inferno.
“My aunt isn’t qualified for any type of leadership position. She’s strong for sure: she possesses more power then she deserves. You want to know what kind of leader she would be? Then listen to what I have to say about her.”
Tomina was still enraged over how her fight with her aunt had played out. God how she hated that woman. She hated the fact that she was related to her at all.
“She admitted to whoring herself out to Caesar. From the sound of things it was a part of some type of deal to keep him from hurting the people of Earth. Well that didn’t stop Caesar from attacking regardless. I could sense her arrive along with the arrival of a few others. When the Saiyan Galactic Kingdom invaded, most of them went to engage Nasu. Once Chris entered the fray, Flare was the only one remotely close to Caesar’s level on the scene. She had two fairly capable allies there that could have tipped the balance in their favor. So what does this self-proclaimed defender of the Earth do?”
It was taking quite a bit of effort to not lose herself to her emotions. She normally would have exploded already, but she wanted to be able to control her emotions so that she wouldn’t have a repeat of her fight with her aunt.
“She left her comrades and the Earthlings of that city to die. I mean I don't give a rats ass about the lives of those people. But to come spouting all this protecting my home crap while abandoning others in their home and making it easy for Caesar to destroy the Earth if he wanted to. This planet has the longest streak of good luck I’ve ever seen in my life.”
Tomina took a deep breath, closing her eyes and thinking of pleasant things to calm her down. Fortunately Tarro was a stable, happy part of her life she could now hold onto. The air cooled down slightly, her hair dimming a bit. Tomina opened her eyes, once again addressing the powerful vampire.
“My aunt may have a strong power level, but she is a weak woman. Someone who preaches about defending their home, but isn't willing to put her life on the line to protect what she cherishes the most. I imagine fighting me was a more favorable thing to her as opposed to fighting Caesar. She was a good deal stronger than me in pure power. I still had control of the fight though. She only beat me because she acquired a new transformation and defeated me in an instant.”
The memory of that was still a painful one for Tomina. She had given it her all to make up for the overwhelming disadvantage she had in that battle. Her experience and techniques were enough to close the gap. Yet she had lost without being able to do anything. All her preparation, all her training, and she had been defeated by an unstable relative that she couldn't stand in the slightest. It was a humiliation that she would never forget.
“She only beat me through sheer brute force. And this is the woman you think should be Queen? Pure strength doesn't cover up her glaring faults. I haven’t even known you for an hour, and I don’t know your name. Yet I already know that you're much better fit to be Queen then she is.”
Tomina simply nodded when Rukia mentioned that they could have had less casualties. On the one hand, things could have been handled better. On the other hand…
“We were too prideful to give up. While enjoying the fruit after Nasu destroyed the tree, both sides didn't back down. Nasu had a chance to leave alive, but his pride wouldn't allow him to leave. I would have made the same decision probably: backing down from a fight is cowardly, and only acceptable if you stand to gain a lot from backing down. If it's just our lives on the line, then it isn’t enough to make us flee.”
The conversation then switched to the Anubians. Fortunately Carva had informed her on what they were called when he got into contact with her. So she knew exactly which race Rukia was talking about.
“Two of them showed up to defend Earth. One of them was defeated handily. The other one killed one of my subordinates. He managed to break out from hell, so things worked out. Because this otherworld seems to have only one security guard watching things, going by how easy it seems to be to come back.”
Tomina listened with interest as the Vampire conveyed her thoughts on the Tournament of Power. It was not what Tomina had been expecting at all. Then again, knowing what to expect when it came to this person was a challenge in itself. Tomina didn't let any of it phase her though.
“It doesn't matter if it hurts or is painless, being wiped from existence means everything will be gone forever. Why this tournament is happening doesn't matter either. We just have to deal with things as they come along. I don't know what, if any, limitations these super dragonballs have. The recruiter implied that the person who did the best in the tournament would get to make the wish, regardless of their strength. There is much that I still don't know though. I intend on acquiring as much knowledge as possible. If I’m to move forward with my plans, I need to understand how the Universe functions.”
The Vampire then explained to her how Earthlings spent their final moments. Tomina chuckled, shaking her head from side to side. These Earthlings never ceased to amaze her.
“They either just sit around and wait to die, waste their time doing nothing, or just go all out and have their fun? Shit, humans are even more pathetic than I thought they were. Understand that last one: if I was a weak human about to be obliterated, I might as well make the most of it. Coward away or doing nothing significant with their last minutes is dumb. It completely baffles me that they’re survived as a species for this long.”
Then the Vampire brought up a subject matter that made her eyes widened. If Nakiya wasn't picked for the tournament, then what was to stop her from taking advantage of it and take over everything. Tomina reached up and rubbed the side of her head, a habit she tended to do when carefully thinking about something.
“You’re right… that vindictive bitch would definitely do that. The tournament takes place in a very short window of time, but if she decides to lead an all out assault.... I néed to alert as many people as possible. Maybe convince the higher ups to either send warriors back when they lose their fight or directly coming down and stopping her like they tried to stop us. Maybe it would be a.good idea to have you watch over things. our top 5 warriors are monsters, myself included. If the remaining 5 members are at least decently strong, we should be able to get through it without you. Still, if universe 4’s warriors are all monsters, then you might be needed to guarantee our victory. What should we do…”
While Tomina was pondering how they should approach things, there was some interesting information that she picked up from the Vampire. This person was telling her more things about her own kind. Specifically, how their transformations worked. More info to file away for later.
“I’m mostly interested in what kind of warriors they have. Will there be species I’ve never encountered. They better be as strong as they're hyped up to be. Power is always consequential, even if it doesn't curse others the way yours does. It affects everyone around you, and their perception they have on you. Even if it doesn't harm them just by being near them, a power vastly greater than their own instills fear in them. Sometimes even when it's your own comrades.”
Tomina thought back to how scared Luffy was of her back on the ship. He had endured being around all those strong powers, but broke into a cold sweat when he was near her. A big part of it was because she had revealed who her mother was. The woman widely regarded as the most ruthless and cruel Saiyaness to ever exist.
Tomina’s power was now comparable to her mother's, so of course some Saiyans were scared of her. She would use this reputation to its full advantage: it made it all the easier to make her enemies fear her.
The vampire released more power. This time there was a very notable change in her appearance. She appeared to be older than before. Were each of these transformations like this? If they progressively made her look older, it would be interesting to see what she looked like at full power.
Tomina entered her next transformation, which was a more refined version of her current one. Tomina’s red hair acquired a tinge of orange, making her hair resemble a fire even more. The jump between this form and the last one was bigger than the jump Rukia did with her new transformation. The fiery Saiyan hybrid folded her arms together, raising an eyebrow at the vampire. Surely this wasn’t all she was capable of.
“Caesar did not join this tournament because he wants to be there. He's made it clear that he’d would rather that everything would end. He is the strongest being out there besides Nasu though, so it doesn't surprise me that the higher ups went to such extremes to force him onto the team. It also wouldn't surprise me if Caesar turned on us.”
That possibility was why she had sought out the vampire in the first place. They needed a very good fallback in case the worst case scenario happened. Although Tomina had begrudgingly admitted it would be better if one strong person was left behind to keep things in check.
“Nakiya plans on going forward with her plans no matter what. Queen Kinoko is convinced that Nakiya is just going to keep sitting back and subtly influencing things. There's no reason not to hold back at this stage of things though. Nakiya is going to come out swinging full force. And there's a possibility Caesar betrays the team and helps her. Everyone has to prepare for the worst case scenario.”
Tomina unfolded her arms, sliding one down to her hip. She leaned slightly to the left, regarding the vampire as she spoke up about the main problem they would have to deal with afterward the tournament of power. For even if they pulled through that, they wouldn't be out of the woods yet. Fortunately a plan had been brewing in Tomina’s mind for awhile now.
“I’ve come to realize that our universe has entered a never-ending cycle that has sent us on a downward spiral. The cycle of hatred, vengeance, and self-righteous. Going back to the 200 year war we had with the Kold demons, they were the ones who struck first. They were determined to subjugate us. We once were justified in our anger. That hatred has never gone away though. Even now I despise all of those bastards.”
Tomina clenched her his again, staring down at her gloved hand. She thought about all the fights she had been in, all the foes she had faced over the years. Since the Planet Trade Organization was comprised of many species, Tomina only view her own people as her allies. She had to look at the bigger picture now though.
“I will always hate them, but I don’t have act on it. Even if we could erase everyone's memory it would only be a temporary solution. Hatred would still exist. The Kold Empire attacked us. In our fury we attacked them, winning and forming our own Empire. That Empire was overthrown by the Alliance, who hated us our abhorrent actions. Caesar has taken over and or destroyed multiple planets for god knows why. We chose to use the Tree Of might on Earth in part because we hadn't forgiven this planet for the wrongs they inflicted on us in the past. Nakiya and her allies have attacked us Saiyans multiple times. Now a war between Saiyans and demons looms on the horizon."
Tomina looked up into the sky, her hand stroking her hair again. She thought of everything that had led her to this point. Things had certainly turned in directions Tomina didn’t even know existed. She had given things a lot of thought, and had come to one conclusion.
“The strong keep on coming back from the dead. The weak who are killed will be stuck in the afterlife and reduce our mortal rating further. It's become clear that this has gone out of the Gods control. When we invaded Earth, one of the Kais had given a fusion technique to Komatsu and Chris, combining their powers to defeat Nasu. They have resorted to using mortals to try and fix things. As such, salvation does not lie within the heavens. It must be created with our own hands. I intend on bringing an end to the cycle. Which brings us to the other thing I want to talk to you about.”
Tomina turned her gaze downward, staring at the Vampire as she took a couple of steps forward. She was still a comfortable distance away from her, but at this distance it was easier to take in all the little details on each of their faces. Tomina’s brow had furrowed, indicating that she was serious about what she was about to bringing it up.
“I plan on founding an organization with the intent to raise the universe's mortal level, and to make sure the universe doesn't relapse into its current state. You would be a prime candidate for this organization. You wouldn't have to take orders from me. You and I would be “Gods” so to speak. We each would have the right to select disciples to work under us. God wouldn't be able to order each other around, or give out commands to someone else's disciples.”
Tomina wasn't vain enough to think herself an actual Goddess. The term “God” was a title that the beings from the other worlds used. God of creation, God of Destruction, God ki users… with the possible exception of the second one, each of those could die like anything else. Tomina and the other Gods would simply shape the universe the way it was supposed to be.
“Of course we would all come together on important issues and deal with them if necessary. Although that would be for situations we couldn’t handle on our own. Whether it's subtly influencing things or having to use brute force to deal with certain individuals, we’ll stride towards our ultimate goal: doing what the Gods are supposed to be doing and running the universe ourselves.”
Tomina turned around, folding her hands behind her back and turning her gaze upwards once again. What she had in mind was a long term plan. Although she would stop at nothing to ensure the universe stayed in existence.
“The end goal is to raise generations who can coexist with one another, and run the universe ourselves. I would prefer it if I could initiate peace talks with Nakiya and the Saiyans and arrange for a treaty for a hundred year ceasefire. However I suspect that no one will be willing to compromise, especially Nakiya. Which is why I suspect that Makai will have to be destroyed in order for the demons to be brought into line.”
Tomina turned around, once again looking at Rukia. She seemed to be entirely focused on the Vampire once again. Things were becoming more clear for the Saiyan hybrid.
“Before things move forward, I need to fully understand how things work. I will do all I can to learn how this universe operates, to make it easier to run. What other universes have done right, everything that us and Universe 4 did wrong, as much information as I can. I will also attempt to recruit compatible members if the Universe 7 team once the tournament is over. This will give you time to think things over.”
Tomina watched the Vampire closely, not wanting to miss even the smallest reaction to what she was saying. She wanted to get even the most tiny insight into what this individual was thinking. This person was tricky to gauge, so anything to work with would be important.
“I’d prefer it if I didn't get an answer right away. When I return, I’ll be able to accurately assess you on where you stand on things. If your final decision is not to participate in the tournament, then only a couple of people would be able to stand up to you. The actions you take when no one else can stand in your way will be very telling. As I said before, I don't care what you do, as long as your actions don’t threaten the existence of the universe. You're the first person who isn't a Saiyan that I actually tolerate. Who knows what the future might being? It would be such a shame if we became enemies.”
Tomina wasn't exaggerating by any means. From the day she was released from the incubation chamber to the present day 15 years after that, she had never encountered a non-Saiyan that she didn't hate for one reason or another. This Vampire was the first alien she had a conversation on equal footing with. And it was actually playing out like an actual conversation. It was refreshing to say the least. The Vampire next brought things back to my tournament of power. Tomina nodded her head in agreement.
“It would be a good idea to have a bit of variety among of team members. A good chunk of the people picked so far are at least part Saiyan, myself concluded. I’ll bring the idea of a Namekian or some other strong being who can regenerate up to the table. Although the final decision ultimately isn't up to me.”
Tomina let out a sigh when Rukia inquired into why the strongest wasn’t the leader of the team. She was getting a headache just recalling her first encounter with her fellow teammates.
“I suspect they picked someone more neutral to be the team Captain to try and ease tensions. If the strongest was picked, then that would be Nasu. Who recently invaded Earth, if you recall. While the team Captain Cornatto seems to have been able to put his feelings aside, Flare definitely still holds hard feelings towards him, and probably Komatsu as well. Considering that potential candidates might have been involved in the war in the north, I’m sure other people would have hard feelings towards him leading them.”
Of course, that wasn't even the most frustrating part. If it was just a hatred of one person, maybe it would be manageable. But things went deeper than that.
“When I arrived on this planet, the team only had 5 confirmed members. And already they were at each other's throats. Pretty much everyone there loathes Caesar, except the team captain for some reason. Komatsu was treating Flare like crap, and they’re supposed to be allies. I despise most of the people on that team too. But this is not the time to deal with personal grudges. I swear, all of them are a bunch of children. Hell, Caesar literally has the body of a child right now. It's why it would be nice to have another voice of reason on our team.”
Tomina rubbed her face in her hands, still amazed that putting their aside their differences even for a 45 minute period was going to be hard. Seriously, she could hold off from incinerating them for an hour. Why couldn't they just cooperate without too much in fighting?

Tomina has transformed into her Attuned Super Elemi Form
There was an extent to how much power she could release.
Since becoming an Antediluvian, her strength had doubled accessing the power of a Matriarch, and going beyond that, carried with it even more power. Her current form here as a Countess, was more than enough to collapse the planet, if she had wished it to. This city even. But what would she gain from that?
She'd be killing off her own kin as they scrambled to find a ship and get off the planet. The power of a Vampire might have been more refined than the other beings, but it was like an approaching wake, waiting to be expelled forth, given the appropriate time for it. No matter how tiresome the conversation could be, she was likely to not go beyond her Matriarch form, just because of the heat of the moment, that tended to come from these kind of conversations.
There was just so much to think about and consider. When the person she was talking to, also seemed like they weren't the typical sort making empty promises, it was even all the more complex. Her choosing to work with two opposing sides, could have been summed up as helping who she saw fit.
Beyond things like resources, and her own presence not being around, there wasn't much else she'd have to do. Her allies would be informed not to give any of the 'bad' sides, not too much trouble, as it was a courtesy to keep up appropriate appearances. Having one of her own work for them would be too obvious, if they still had ties to her. She or one of the others could possibly just find more beings who were like the demon, and could be capable of destruction.
"Prior to the other cities falling, the demons could also be found, exploring the mountains or some backwater village, in my experience. The ones that ended East City this morning, were one of the most notable that I'm aware of, implying the masses must be waiting back in their own realm."
Which was more than appropriate, considering the powers that were at large in this world. Destroying a planet wasn't something that could be pulled off, and not expect any interference. It was why banking on the Kold Demon to do something, might not be enough. There needed to be some initiative to be had.
Rats was another interesting thing she hadn't expected to hear, and especially about the demons. They had their cowardice for sure, but that was an asset to be used, rather than feel disdain for. This one's thoughts on Nakiya herself, made her wonder if those two actually did manage to meet each other personally. It was hard to tell with a hybrid of these genes, whether it was just an outcry of their innate anger, or from an actual event.
In any case, her own thoughts on the Demon Queen, wouldn't be perturbed by such passion. The woman had the kind of mentality that she just couldn't wrap around, and until their meeting, it was just going to stay that way. She wouldn't care to defend someone else's opinion, who had such clear hate. Especially not when she carried her own, bringing up the blonde she had to argue with, several times now, who served as nothing more than a piece in her plans.
"My current alliances have my hands too tied for that to happen, although the option was proposed by the girl herself. Those demons were the ones who really should have done the job, or at least maim her, in the time I spent escorting my Majins. Would have dealt with two problems at once."
Regret wasn't something she would have said she felt, keeping the girl alive. It gained her two meetings, that if the blonde had gotten a hold of herself with the Demon Lord, would only fall towards some other plan of hers. Their success would fall on her allowing it to happen. Another invasion on earth could just as easily be a time when she could use the excuse of evacuating the rest of the population, rather than fight as would be expected for her to.
Satsu, one of the Alliance's Saiyans, should have understood by now, she wouldn't have opposed allowing the girl to go fight if she had wished. Though the chances of survival would only decrease, and she would assume might drag out the rest of the Saiyans who had ran from Caesar, into helping.
But it would be far from a warm welcome for sure, if she could help it. They had no place trying to defend earth, after running from that man. It was one thing to do so to take care of other things, but what she saw had been nothing more than discrediting him as someone who wasn't a threat, when he was merely just playing around. One or two of those half breeds would have died for sure, if he had wanted them to, and the rest would have gotten maimed in some way.
"I can tell you now, 90% of my kin can achieve this form. The rest you have already seen, as our hierarchy is well controlled, and involves monthly culling those unable to defend themselves. Though I suppose if this mortal level is such a concern, we can stop what's been so traditional, and leave the weak alive, but penned off somewhere."
Vampires were as territorial as they come, and so many of the higher ups killed off those who only had Refined Control. Since becoming queen however, she and the other Matriarchs have taken rather accurate accounts, forcing those who could be called a Count or Countess of their own, to reveal how long they've had it. If their power seemed too close to reaching Patriarch or becoming a Matriarch of their own, the chance for culling them would increase.
Only those she would approve of, would ever reach that power. It could be argued she was making their kind weaker or unprepared, but those naysayers were taken care of. Greater power was a punishment, and she made sure to emphasize how good those below these two hierarchies had it, from losing who they were.
Talk about the old queen, made her think back of the kitsune's time on the planet. There wasn't really much that she knew of, that had really happened. More speculation than anything else, on what she could have been planning behind the scenes. Yet, like any woman who came into power, she still held the appropriate respect, unless proven it was undeserving. Now the one bearing the title was nothing more than just a pawn until she grew in power.
"If she didn't have any allies of her own, beyond Flare and her friends, then I see your point. Plans are supposed to carry on, with or without a leader's presence, and that title she held, wasn't one to just throw away. I've had two similar annoyances some time ago back on Namek. Some Saiyan not associated with the Alliance there, or seemed to be from your Kingdom either, interrupted my fighting the Guru.
Didn't like how I was flaunting my power back then, and despite the guardian of the planet himself giving permission, he moved to attack. He's still alive unfortunately, hiding out somewhere, like the Saiyans who discredited Caesar into being a threat, to deal with your forces Tree Of Might. This one Saiyan hybrid, Cambia, also disliked my challenge to the Guru, and I've only recently found out she's raising a kid of her own. I assume it's a culture difference, that makes a motherless child to be reasonable, because her own kinship to the Overseer gives her certain protection."
Someone like this woman, who had a slight advantage over her in strength at the moment, it wasn't a necessity to bring help. Having her around here in the first place, was already a peculiar sight, knowing it was the one planet that others saw it fit, to act as defenders of. Didn't matter if they were from here or not, which was one of the things that bothered her, knowing they had no real power, when it came to imposing their strength and giving help.
The Saiyans that she had to deal with on Namek, were also detestful in their own way, with that less experienced male, being more like the situation the woman was talking about. Someone who knew they were outmatched, but still went to challenge someone they knew could easily kill them, if it was tried.
Cambia was fitting to be brought up, being both another blonde she had issues with, as well as being a Saiyan this woman might have encountered. The name could have just as easily been useless, but that wasn't a problem in itself, if they were really going to just use this time to talk about people here.
"A bit too much meaning. The new queen is relying on that dead fox's favor, and the population who have already evacuated the planet, into supporting her rule. It still won't do much of anything however, knowing work on repairs of the infrastructure and land would take months."
Even one would be more than enough time to converse with these demons and establish was going to happen, if they really wanted minimal trouble, when it came to taking over earth. A good portion would rely on attacking Bris, to wipe off the human population that held no ties to her, and could be lost.
The rest of those, and who were currently in West City, she'd spare what minds were needed. Maybe even use the chance to turn what was left of the population here, into Vampires. Breaking them away from what kindness they had, would be the most difficult part. Perhaps an idiotic experience.
She supposed it all depended on what the demons wished for them. if their lives were to simply be gone, it wasn't going to matter. Humans were better off extinct, if they weren't going to provide any good warriors. She had never met anyone who she'd really ever call a threat, who wasn't some hybrid.
The few embers that had dropped from the woman's hair were burned out as quick as the source had, reminding her of the Elemi she had only recently had delivered to her, when it came to the combustion. They really were a people who were elementals of sorts, weren't they? All the more reason to use them.
"You're also correct in that aspect. The beings I've met that have resembled humans, excluding some hidden detail, always turned out to be a hybrid of sorts, than what they look like. I suppose if they went extinct, it wouldn't be noticeable, seeing as how even now, the strongest in the universe doesn't come close to being one of them."
This talk about a Kold Demon war, wasn't the kind of thing she really had much knowledge of, as far as she could recall. It was only more certain than anything, hearing this loathing, that the woman might have interest in visiting the planet itself, and attacking what human population was left there.
Everything else followed along, acknowledging the title she no longer really needed, with what plans she had in mind. If she could get things her way, earth wasn't something which would belong to the humans any longer. The demons could have it if they wished, and would only be more of a reason to acquire one of her own through the use of magic. The self-refilling rivers of flowing blood, along with the twilight skies she envisioned, could appease them.
"From my knowledge, the Kold Demons have remained rather neutral, and their emperor had went into hiding some time ago. The rest of the humans that were on this planet, are acting as refugees there, like the Saiyans on Namek. If you have the authority, I suggest attacking them or making use of their population, if the humans there aren't just outright made extinct by an invasion."
Of course it wasn't that simple. With how different hierarchies could be, this woman might not even have the authority to to do such a thing. Even with all of this rage, she might also still be concerned with the mortal level, but the suggestion was there nonetheless in making such a thing happen.
"I expected successfully maiming the blonde, if not outright killing her, while I was gone. The girl might have had magic, but she also only had a power level of a million, which she believed to be notable. It's about the level of a Super Saiyan at this point."
And she had meant that in a way noting it to be average, amongst the other higher powers that were around. If Caesar and Nakiya had been there with her, the planet would be on the verge of dying, and the blonde wouldn't have stood a chance. But that was too trivial for someone of their power to deal with.
Which did say a lot about those demons, to be unable to pull off a kill, or even maim. They would have their chance again, when it came to earth being taken over by their kind. If they messed up by then, there wasn't much else she could really do, knowing doing the work herself would be rather controversial.
"Well they're always going to be hated. Even the lores around here paint mortals as being the ones destined to always kill them. And this whole mortal level ordeal in the first place, should have really excluded them."
The more they talked about demons and their homeworld, the more she was picking up on things that she didn't know about either. Something she supposed was a fair trade, seeing where the conversation moved around to. If the Saiyans had access to the realm, then it was another thing to account for, upon meeting the Demon Queen, especially knowing how much hate there was this woman had. Exactly one of the reasons why she preferred not to be given some morality.
She had respect for women who were powerful, no matter what their alignment was. To get wind of such opinions, which she didn't exactly agree to, only emphasized how much she refused to take part in such quarrels. They could kill each other, as far as she cared, but leave her out of it.
Upon mentioning Flare, it was rather obvious, the Elemi was apart of this one's life, in a way that wasn't resolved. Possibly more hate than even for earth or the demons listening on. More power than what was deserved? What she knew about the woman herself, seeing things from the eyes of that man, it was that fiery temper that kept the woman too stubborn to really be satisfied with the queen position. But nothing that made her any less empowering.
She might have slept with Caesar just as well, a memory she didn't like recalling, and could still feel the slightest of sensations doing so, but it wasn't anything that couldn't be overlooked. Not when letting the Elemi take the role in the first place, would have just been a temporary solution.
"All of these familial relationships, really brings out how small this world is. I'm aware of her deal with Caesar, but she still remains to be the only woman around with a power comparable to the Saiyan Alliance's Overseer, and be considered 'good' around here. Her taking the role would be a temporary solution, knowing she's not likely to settle down, or have much experience with politics. Though I agree about she and her friends cowering away. Some of them I have doubts were even from the planet, but took it upon themselves to interfere and help anyway."
No matter what she had said, this hybrid already had a fair opinion on how she felt towards the other Elemi. But they were considering different aspects here, thinking about this queen role, and who ended up gaining the title instead. She viewed it as a better option than the blonde, still giving the woman credit for past achievements, even if South City was just abandoned for whatever reason, by those who had left it. South City's fall was deserved.
"If he's as powerful as Caesar and the others, then there's no reason too. Christopher and the Alliance's Overseer, would have made it out to mean something entirely different."
The Tree Of Might kept being mentioned, just as much as her own issues with natural blondes. From the sound of things, and what she could decipher from her own memories, it proved to be an advantage to have that sort of thing around, if it really had the potential to destroy a planet. The fruit it also beared, she could only assume gave strength or the like, comparable to her own blood draining, only less limited and more destructive than it was necessary.
If it meant giving any of the other factions a hard time, then she wouldn't oppose of it. Things would get complicated once she had her own planet, assuming that things on her next trip to Namek, went well enough to do so. She had considered all of the typical arguments the Guru could have given her, and the biggest one had to be listening to the Saiyan who suggested the idea in the first place. If it didn't go her way, all the more reason to help the demons.
"It's difficult wanting any Anubian to get closer to power. Entities like them aren't meant to interfere, no matter their role in destruction. They're at least able to die, if they can sleep."
That was always going to be her opinion on the matter as well. Deities of their power were supposed to just watch over, and only wipe away an existence when it had became necessary. To fight alongside mortals goes to show where knowledge in the future might head, if it became something expectant.
"The odds still sound too low, and while I've had power waved in my face, that's practically in grasp without a good return."
It'd be easier to wait the year it would take to gather the Namek dragonballs again, and make a wish. This was still in consideration of competition despite a possible approval from the Guru, knowing that swordsman did practically what she wanted, and was allowed to, thanks to her kinship with the Overseer.
"It's denial to sum the behavior of, and acceptance as well, I suppose. They're beings who lack power, and I don't think anything's going to change the mind of this ruler of the universe, if they're already not considering a few beings shouldn't fit into this mortal level."
The surprise that came from her mentioning a possible invasion from Nakiya, brought along another thing she wouldn't have expected from this woman. The surprise was directed at something she considered to be so simple, knowing this whole tournament was taking away the universe's strongest fighters.
Those who would be left behind, like herself, could simply get away with plans waiting to happen. It wouldn't be too difficult to do either. Although she had rather see the demons takeover to happen much earlier, in order to really ensure humans wouldn't be around, and they could get what they wished.
"If Caesar will be there, her forces alone shouldn't be enough. One of the abilities I have suspicions she had learned from him, is practically an empowering heart attack. Although you're correct voicing the possibility wouldn't be a bad thing either."
It was a game of ifs at this point, hearing about whether or not she should attend. Her mind at the moment, still persisted on a no, and there was only so much of these back and forths, that she could really stand. Feigning interest was still difficult, even if she could pull it off better now than she had as a Matriarch. Having to be relied on, might have been the role she had sought, but there really wasn't anything that she had a guarantee of gaining.
The momentary pause that was being allowed as the Elemi had thought of a possible solution, served as a reminder on just where she had ended up at. She had meant to stay in her natural state after dealing with the blonde, but found herself ascending instead. Yet those in the household were aware not to interfere in anything that clearly wasn't going on, no matter the increases in power, knowing she hadn't really moved from her spot near the doorway.
"The planet's scientists have theorized the existence of twin universes. One which reverses the roles of everyone in this one, and the other slight differences in success. Though I don't expect this Universe 4 to be the one, knowing those other two are supposed to be vastly more successful. I'd bank on the idea their top three are 'bad' enough to kill off masses, if you want to contrast the fighters here. The rest should be rather mild."
Although this was also going off of the simple theory that good and evil had to balance out in a universe. Knowing they were doing just as bad, it couldn't have been the kind of utopia that one universe might have had. Figuring out what the others did right, would definitely help out with this one.
The talk about allies fearing power their leader had, was a thing she already had comfort in. It was expected to happen really, knowing great strength led to the feeling of being weighed down. But if there were idiots like Cambia who could get past it, then there was no reason they couldn't do the same.
"Sounds more like they have doubts where they shouldn't. It's one thing to be weighed down by greater power, but not getting over it, makes them worse than the idiots who can. I can't stress how many would have had their spine beat in, if they weren't protected by someone, and forgiven for their ludicrous actions."
In general though, it was mostly her doing evil on this planet, would wind up not sitting well with those stronger than her. Demons were lucky in that aspect, knowing they were only likely following orders, which meant they weren't exactly at fault, if they didn't have any prior negative feelings.
Once again the woman had powered up into a different transformation, matching her own one. Though much like before, she hadn't acknowledged it either. There wasn't a need to. What warmth could have flared out at her, even with the power difference, couldn't conquer just what she felt about the world.
Her allies were moving around, she could feel it, but the one she focused on the most, was the only Matriarch still within the mansion. Miki was possibly the one most lacking in confidence, so her reaching the transformation was a necessity. But the girl was probably also dealing with things a lot worse.
"That's always going to be a possibility with him. He's strong enough to do so."
What image of her mind picturing the other Vampire in her room, had faded away, seeming so real to her, but a lot of things did. The chains that had kept her from being an Antediluvian awhile ago, she had been able to feel its weight onto her. Breaking it off, she could still feel it, but was also aware it phased through her, like some kind of apparition. She was going to be the only one holding the title as well, for quite awhile, until the others caught up.
Caesar was the kind of man, she still couldn't find herself being fond of talking about. She was likely to die by him the more she grew in power, but also the most likely to live, if he had really chosen to wipe out everyone. She was just what he couldn't have, even though there were more willing out there.
Keeping it short was the best thing to do, and even with how he was, she couldn't discredit the power that he had. She could have easily used her own power to do the same, if not for all of the trouble. It was difficult to kill masses of people, and decide to just be done with it, for some people.
"She might. This planet's more of a target than attacking somewhere like Namek however. The people left here in West City, are only alive because I'm overseeing it."
That was just about as much as she was likely to tell about her influence, if it could be helped. She had already managed to avoid that so far, though the woman had also already stated she wasn't going to bother accusing her of anything. Didn't mean she couldn't at least be careful as they went on.
There was more talk about the Kold Demons, whose long history with the Saiyans, was hardly a secret, having heard about it from her own two respective allies in the past. Though she knew for sure she had beaten the former's opinion of the latter by now, and would spread the existence of Vampires around.
This talk had led back to the Tree Of Might as well, bringing forth other things she didn't know, like those two also gaining the ability of fusion. The Overseer being on the planet, was what she had been wondering about back then, and made a lot of sense hearing about it, from someone who was actually there. These two being associated, was likely through some other family ties. Saiyans bred so much with each other, it was hard to say otherwise.
It was the topic of something else the hybrid had wanted to talk about, that had her raising an eyebrow, watching the woman step over close enough to really look at her. This talk about raising the mortal level, she couldn't help but think about the perversions it seemed to have led to. The first thing on her mind upon hearing the organization's purpose. Though it could have just as easily alluded towards making sure that no one unnecessarily died.
The God aspect to this, while also being a bit too on the nose for her, was something she had at least already covered among her own people. The others would get there soon enough, and her kind would possibly be one of the most notable hierarchies that actually shared titles, in centuries.
A ceasefire for a hundred years, was a long time. A lot of the Saiyans around were likely to be dead, unless they wasted a wish on gaining immortality, which would be plain stupid. She might not have liked the afterlife, but some of those guys might actually enjoy the realm for what it was.
Just about the last of what the woman wanted to say about the matter, had its temptations there just as well. Waiting until after the tournament for an answer of all things, and what sounded like some threat of sorts. Nothing she heard was particularly anything that made her feel that old, beyond the suggestion of having to busy herself for a hundred years, if that was what it took to raise the level back up again. Which was pretty crazy.
There was also it being a too idealistic, even if there were points here and there that she could live by. With what plans she had, she just couldn't see things working out. Opinions would change if things were traced back to her, though it would wind up being too late by then, and she'd still argue hard.
"What you suggest is rather idealistic, even giving it a hundred years. I'd wait a bit between and after the tournament of power to judge where things go, if the current factions can't kill each other. I know for sure any Majin with an ounce of desire for power, I'll vaporize."
Having seen her own Majin able to regenerate from being blasted apart, she knew the alien's kind was a possible and annoying threat. For a group of beings to somehow go from being docile and idiotic, into destructive and hungering power, was possibly one of the things she detested the most about evolution.
How could there be beings who were so dumb, and gain intelligence through absorbing people into their bodies? From what she had been told by her own Majin, they weren't likely to come back either. Fear wasn't the proper word for what she felt towards them. The destructive ones were merely like children, and to give a child power, was worse than giving it to girls her age. She and the others at least had enough reason to know it wasn't some kind of game.
There was nothing special beyond how leisure her responses had gotten, when talking about Caesar. He was practically also a guy that she had never been with, but knew wanted her, despite the fact he slept with more people than she ever would in someone's lifetime, and gave them his kids as well.
Answering her decision on joining the tournament, she still felt was a resounding no, but it was better if this woman heard it from the recruiter himself. If it was really as urgent as things seemed to be, there was no reason he wouldn't have the rest of who he had wished to put on the team by now.
"I suppose morality is as good of an excuse as any, to make him the leader. People deal with power in different ways, so the other half of the team shouldn't be too bad. There has to be a balance somewhere, or this universe has more stubborn beings than I would have guessed."
It should have been weird to hear the Overseer of the Saiyan Alliance be described this way, knowing she had seen rather differently. But she wasn't really like any of these guys that were being listed either. That was what made her choosing to help different sides even more easy, knowing it at least seemed to make some of them consider just what she was saying. Of course, she had also never been on any of their bad sides, as far as she was aware of.

Tomina honestly wasn't too surprised to hear that demons were scouting planet Earth. The demon queen was now on the move. With Saiya destroyed, Earth would be one of, if not the first, targets. Although from the sound of things, they seemed to have been here for awhile, only now making a move against East City. It wouldn't be long before the rest of the demons followed and arrived on the planet.
"That doesn't surprise me. From everything I was told about her she usually takes a slow, cautious approach to things. She's probably sent out spies to all the major worlds, all while in the comfort of her own personal dimension. It must have been so convenient for her, not having to worry about retaliation from other species. As I said before though, that's about to change. Here, have a peak at the demon realm and see for yourself!"
Tomina held out her hand, and a portal the size of a large door opened up in front of the Vampire. Rukia would be able to see a red sky with jagged mountain ranges and desert wastelands. A castle could be clearly seen off in the distance.
Tomina knew that the demons would be able to sense her and Rukia, given how much they had powered up. Tomina wanted to instill fear into them though. The demons were already preparing for a war on the Saiyans. Sneak attacks weren't Tomina’s way of doing things typically. Besides, it would probably only have given them a slight advantage. Tomina was sure Nakiya had prepared for the possibility of her own realm being invaded. After all, Kinoko had betrayed her.
Giving them terror was much more important to Tomina. Now they would know for sure that the Saiyans now had a way into their once safe realm. They would now live in constant fear of the Saiyans coming in and exacting their vengeance on them. For they knew that the strongest warriors in the universe were Saiyans, and now nothing could stop them from bringing the fight to the demons.
Tomina waited a good, solid minute before closing the portal. Not only had she given the Vampire a long, hard look at the demon realm, she drove home a certain point. Makai was not as impenetrable as the demons thought it was. It was something Rukia would have to take in account when making her alliances.
"If you or I had actually gone through, I would have to wait a month before opening a portal again. Crossing through dimensional boundaries is tricky business. Once the Tournament of Power is done with, the demons will probably find themselves homeless."
Tomina lowered her arm, a look of annoyance crossing her face as the Vampire explained why she couldn't have made a move against the blonde. Politics were such a necessary chore.
"Tch, you too huh? I've had to be a little more conservative as of late. Having to take orders from people I don't want giving me commands and having to worry about annoying hero types to stop me. You have to take many different alliances into account though, so it's harder for you to do something without pissing someone powerful off. If you aligned with one side it would make things a little simpler for you"
Tomina rubbed her temples with her fingers. She knew all too well what it felt like to having to play things carefully for the sake of alliances. Sometimes she missed the good old days where she could kill people without having to worry about all this crap. Although as it turned out, it ended up biting everyone in the ass.
"See, this why you either do things yourself, or put important matters in competent people you can trust. I ordered a subordinate not to go Earth prior to the invasion. Cause Earth was hostile territory to us. Another one of my subordinates who should have known better convinced him to disobey my order and come here anyway. I spent time and effort training those two, and they go to enemy territory and immediately got detected and intercepted. Because apparently neither of them knew what a fucking stealth drive was."
God, she still couldn't believe that they had been actually that dumb. Rensu was a naive kid, she understood him making impulsive decisions. Carva should have known better though. She hadn’t directly given him the order she gave Rensu because she assumed he was old enough to know better. Apparently he needed to be told in very specific detail what he should and shouldn’t do. Tomina was going to punish the both of them at the next ample opportunity. Particularly Carva.
"They only got out of that due to sheer luck. The Earth defenders could have killed them on the spot yet they spared them. Which I'm sure they regretted the moment we invaded Earth. Still, apparently I couldn't trust them to just do nothing and stay out of danger they didn't have to face. Without telling anyone where they were going. They were insubordinate on a whim."
It was eerie how much she could relate to the vampire right now. Why couldn't people just do what they needed them to do? Things were already annoying enough to deal with when others incompetence wasn't making things more difficult. She lowered her hands down again, having alleviated a bit of her headache.
"Still, can you really call this new queen a problem? Considering how much more powerful you are then her, she should just be an annoyance at worst. She's just a fly buzzing next to your ear. All you have to do is wait for the right time to squash her."
Tomina asked that with a completely straight face. She really didn't see why Rukia couldn't just squash her at the opportune moment. If she didn't go to the tournament of power, she could kill this queen and no one would be the wiser. Although part of why Tomina was here in the first place was to convince her to join the tournament.
The more she heard about them, the more impressed she was. If the majority of could reach this level of power, they were a force to be reckoned with. Of course Saiyans were superior to all other races, but Vampires seemed to be up there with the significant ones. They just seemed to keep to themselves for the most part.
"That's a fairly efficient way of handling things. We also weeded out the weak when I was growing up in the Saiyan Empire. Although we were a bit more indirect most of the time. If you died on a mission, it meant you either ran into a strong opponent, or were too weak to be of any value. I would hold off on culling your weaker brood for the time being though. Hopefully we can get the moral level up to a good level in the future. I hate not just being able to dispose of people I need to. It makes life so much easier, you know?"
Tomina would certainly be looking into a lot of things while at the Tournament of Power. Hopefully when she got back, she would have a good idea on how to handle things. Maybe one day she wouldn't have to worry about offing a few people now and then. Genocide was off the table forever, but getting rid of some people she didn't like now and again would be nice.
The Vampire then spoke of an experience she had on Namek. That must have been where the Alliance had gone to after Natto was destroyed. She wondered why the Vampire has gone to Namek in the first place, but decided to inquire into it later if that never came up. Although she had an inkling of what that might have been.
"I mean, what’s the point of having power if you don't use it at least every now and then? Regardless of that you believe in, if you hate how someone acts, get stronger then them and stop them. This Saiyan and this Cambia person clearly were not on par with you. You've missed your window of opportunity, having to play nice. Killing the people you hate with your own hands is extremely satisfying, trust me."
Tomina grinned at the Vampire. She was liking this person more and more the longer she talked to her. She could have easily see them being comrades if they had grown up together.
The Saiyan hybrid let out a chuckle when the Vampire brought up cultural differences in mothers. Now there was a fun topic for her to dive into.
"It really just depends on the person. Even before my mother conceived my brother, she wasn't exactly a reasonable person. She wasn't protective of my and my half-sibling in the way you typically think a mother is."
The conversation moved back to the new queen of Earth, who really was irritating incompetent from the sound of things. Tomina shook her head in amusement.
"She's a dumb blonde for sure. That's not how the world works at all. You’re only the ruler if you can hold onto your title through your own merit. I'm technically a princess, but that title is now worthless since my mother is dead and the Empire is history. I don't envy the rebuilding she'll have to do, especially since things can be destroyed again in a heartbeat."
Tomina was again in agreement with the vampire over another part of the discussion. Earthlings tended to be very weak indeed. The Vampire didn't sugarcoat things in the slightest, despite being born on the same planet that humans resided on.
"Well it wouldn't be noticeable, except it turns out they're the pillars that hold up the strong like you and I. So their existence does have a purpose after all: keeping the relevant in existence."
This person hadn’t been around for very long, or only began prying into Galactic history recently. Well, it was time to inform her about one of the bloodiest periods in her races history. And that was saying a lot.
"The Kold Demons have fallen on hard times, but there was a time period where they ruled nearly the entire galaxy. So the humans are hiding there eh? I'll admit that the idea you propose is tempting. At this point I wouldn't even need to fight to take over that place. Although what would I do with the humans? I could think of some uses for the Kold Demons, but all humans are good for are manual labor and maybe breeding stock. Saiyan hybrids turn out powerful and our population has taken a hit as of late."
Tomina had a thoughtful look on her face as she stroked the side of her head with her finger. The idea was rather tempting, if only just to make use out of the Kold Demons. It was another thing to file away for later.
Tomina's eyes widened as the vampire mentioned the blonde's power level being around a million. That was ridiculous for a human to have.
"No wonder she was so cocky. She's stronger than most humans by a power difference of 999,995. This magic must be quite potent to be able to elevate a human up to the level of a Super Saiyan. It must have been jarring for her to meet up with you, since she isn't likely used to people being stronger than her."
Tomina didn't disagree with how Earthlings perceived demons. As far as she was concerned, any species with "demon" in its name were mortal enemies of the Saiyans. Although...
"Demons, Saiyans, Earthlings villainize quite a few species. They should be excluded, but we're not the ones calling the shots... yet."
One couldn’t say that Tomina wasn't ambitious. Tomina let out an exasperated sigh as Rukia brought up why she thought Flare would be best suited as a temporary candidate. Well, it was sound logic, except...
"I don't know about what the humans think of either you or Flare, but the Alliance is no longer on good terms with my aunt. The truth is that most of these "good" Saiyans are just like the Saiyans that they claim to be barbaric. The only difference is that don't enslave other beings. It's just part of their denial though. Honestly at this point you would be a better ruler and would have a better reputation then Flare does. As I said before, Earth is a hub where aliens gather and protect it for some reason."
Tomina let out a bitter laugh when Rukia inquired into Nasu’s strength. There was no mistaking the resentment she had in her eyes.
"It would be one thing if he were as strong as either as those two. But he's the strongest being I know of besides that God of Destruction. He's in a class of his own. It's the main reason they disregarded Caesar despite the threat he posed: Nasu is just that monstrously strong. I'll surpass him eventually though, even if I have to train for a hundred years."
Tomina clenched her fist again, gritting her teeth as she thought about how strong Nasu had become. Honestly it defied logic, much like that purple bitch. Speaking of the mutts though, the Vampire brought up how she didn't want Anubians getting stronger, which was yet another matter that they agrees on.
"Yeah, that God of Destruction is more than enough to represent their race. We don't need any more on that level wondering about."
Tomina nodded her head at Rukia’s comments about the tournament of power and her involvement in it. It seemed like she was leaning towards not joining it. Not to mention she was right about the organizers of the tournament. Nothing could change their mind: all that could be done now was to win or perish.
With that out of the way, the conversation switched back to the possible invasion of the demon queen. This was one thing she didn't completely agree with the Vampire on.
"Caesar participating in the tournament like he's supposed to, makes an invasion by the demon realm less likely. But Nakiya is a cunning bitch who performs twisted experimentations. Who knows what she has hidden up her sleeve. She showcased some of them when the Kingdom invaded what was then Brench."
The disdain in her voice and the glint in her eye were unmistakable. She had encountered what once had been proud, Empire Saiyans reduced to mindless, mutated beasts. Even if she had to keep the mortal level into account, Nakiya had a lot to answer for.
Well there was yet another reason why this Vampire wasn't unfamiliar with the concept of multiple universes. This twin universe theory was interesting, although not essential to their survival. So the Saiyan hybrid just shrugged her shoulders.
"Whether or not this twin universe theory is true, or that the universe we’re fight is our twin, if it is doesn’t really matter. I’d extend their significant fighters to the top 5, although even how the lower matches play out is key. Battles flow from one into the next one. Which means the stronger fighters will have to use more energy to finish off fighters from the universe who has taken the lead. Even if the bottom 5 aren’t that powerful, those fights are still important.”
Doubt was indeed a treacherous foe sometimes. Even for a race as persistent as the Saiyans, there were still some moments where you questioned your own power or feared someone else's. Unnecessary doubt was even worse though. It meant that you were questioning things that didn’t even need to be questioned in the first place.
“Well in my case it isn’t just my overwhelming power. My mother is quite a controversial subject among the Saiyans alive today. Just mention “Queen Lettis” to any of them, and just watch what happens. And I’ve seen that happen many times. You had to fend for yourself back in the days of the Empire. You still have to do so to a degree in the Saiyan Galactic Kingdom.”
Tomina noted that Rukia didn’t power up further in response to her transformation, which she found a little disappointing. She was hoping to coax more out of her so she would get a better idea of how strong the vampire was. Well, she could tell she was holding back quite a bit, and that was enough for now.
Again, they were on the same page on things it seemed. Both of them wouldn’t be surprised if Caesar suddenly did decide to turn against the Universe and helped Nakiya with her conquests while the others were fighting for the existence of the Universe. It really spoke to the state of affairs that they needed the help of possibly the most nihilistic person in existence to help save the universe.
The Vampire being here was certainly a factor that made things uncertain. Depending on what position she decided to take, Nakiya may only invade part of Earth, or just decide not to go after Earth until Caesar was back again. Where this individual stood would determine quite a few factors.
“I doubt she’d want to fight you if she didn’t have to, so she’d probably try to make some type of deal with you if she does come here. But be wary and on your guard: being direct about things isn’t her prefered style, so she might try and set things into her favor as much as possible using whatever means she has at her disposal. Things are never as they seem when it comes to dealing with demons.”
Tomina blinked, then bent over laughing at what the Vampire said next. She slapped her knee a couple of times, having been in complete hysterics by what was just mentioned. The Saiyan hybrid was laughing so hard, she was bringing tears to her eyes. Finally she straightened up, wiping her eyes with her gloves and trying to bring herself under control.
“Well no shit that’s idealistic. Although even a year would be valuable time to rebuild things. I suspect in this case that the negotiations aren’t going to go well and that it’s going to take force in order to deal with the demons. I have a few ideas on how to move forward, but you’re right. All we can do is wait until after the tournament when things are made more clear from the both of us.”
Tomina grinned widely at the vampire when she mentioned that she would vaporize a Majin who she thought was going to try and go for more power. She didn’t know what they were, but she liked the sentiment the Vampire was saying.
“Hey, if these Majin are destructive or detrimental enough and if vaporizing them won’t cause a significant drop in the mortal level, then indulge yourself if you run into a problematic Majin. I know you’re trying hard to keep up an image, but you’ll think twice about bothering with that once you blast apart someone you hate. It’ll be a blast.”
Yes, Tomina had just made that pun. Hey, she was in a particularly good mood right now. Even if this Vampire didn’t agree to join the tournament, she was having a productive conversation with someone very powerful. It certainly was much more of a productive conversation than any she had with the rest of her team thus far.
“A large part of the reason we’re in this mess is because the universe has powerful beings who hate each other and can’t agree on anything. I hope that the other half of the team won’t be controversial. It would really help if we had more people who could help defuse tense situations.”
Ironically she had ended up taking the role of peacekeeper alongside the team captain. Which was a position she never saw herself taking. She was a Saiyan bred for battle, not a person who was good at calming things down. It seemed like the fabric of reality was unfolding: almost nothing made sense to Tomina anymore. Hopefully things would make sense again once she understood how things truly worked in this bizarre system of multiple universes.
Tomina uses [PT-2} Advanced Gateway to open up a portal to Makai. She shows the other side to Rukia before closing it without either of them passing through. [WC=3,440] [TWC=11,462]
It was rather easy to do, when ki gave the ability of flight. At the beginning, she didn't have to really worry about money either. Even the newest of Vampires would find themselves capable of taking what they wished, using the speed that was granted to them. But living that kind of life, in conjunction with swiping a credit card here and there, was only but a phase. Stopped being as satisfying as the first couple of times, the more she got good at it.
Chasing a thrill had nothing to do with it either, moving on from such choices. The things she saw across her travels and had to deal with, made it rather easy to be grounded. Plenty of them, if they weren't aliens of some sort, brought on the kind of horrors that had her reach desperately into the power inside her. The people she killed started out as guilt, a reason, for her to control what she had better. But even that wasn't something that had last.
The people became more easy to kill, and her growth in power only introduced her to new sights and new people. There was no 'getting better' at stopping her from doing one thing, only her growing tired of it. But even with all of the people she had met, and the sights that she had seen, actually wanting to see those places, had almost never been intentional. She stuck to the cities, created her own opportunities where she pleased, rather than going to them.
Hearing about that woman in this manner, only served to contribute to the idea meeting her, might not go awful. They seemed to have similar plans, and with her ascension into an Antediluvian, even the idea of lying in wait and having other people do the work, was another thing they were starting to have in common. And yet, this was still nothing more than secondhand info she was hearing. Something she had yet to see for herself, like with Caesar.
They had made that man out to be someone to be scared of. As if the things he did had been one nobody had pursued before. What he had accomplished had been both great and terrible, but he was still only someone who carried on what others before him, likely did. Just like how she would continue to refuse swaying to one side, and fitting into the role someone wished of her. There were a few comparisons she could have made with neutrality.
Aliens that she had come across that had done the same. Their lack of power should mean nothing in stopping them from serving as a point. But that was just something she’d see play out for herself, when the time for it had came. At the present moment, her eyes had taken a glimpse of the demon portal, which held a realm she could so easily be trapped in. Yet this woman had confidence it would be the other way around. That they were rats.
”It would have also likely bring the attention of Caesar in some way. Though I have doubts he’d take action.”
No matter what was being said or done, there was information she had, or actions she had done, which would be too much for this woman to get word of. Even the two Namek Saiyans weren’t aware of the kind of things, those others living within the mansion, knew of. There was no slip ups to be had, for if the truth were to be revealed earlier than she intended, it would truly mean death. So many things could change, straying from where she wished.
Though this woman didn’t seem quite expectant either, if she was so casually accepting that there were alliances around she had connections with. The idea of only playing for one side however, she was firmly decisive on the idea that it was unappealing. Brought on caution where it was unnecessary, more so than messing with either one. To do things her own way was what she had wanted the most. A purpose many wished, getting strength.
”It’s a burden, yes, but I prefer it over any one side’s expectations.”
The woman brought up her own experiences and thoughts about the classic approach with handling situations on her own. An idea which she still continued to follow herself, if it was interesting enough. The problem that came with constantly doing it, was giving the unworthy attention, knowing they were the ones who were likely to run their mouths, and because of their associations, manage to still live because of it.
She saw it as something of an annoyance, able to easily sway away a side she had an eye on, into seeing her as someone unapproachable to form a deal with. But there was a way around it like most things. Setting where boundaries were, before such scenarios could even begin. She was not one to talk down to by someone beneath her power, and believing one was an exception, would likely earn them a trip to hell in the long run.
That was the end goal for some of those she had already knew and met. The swordsman halfbreed on Namek, and that inexperienced male Saiyan, would meet their end if she could just get contact with the demons, and orchestrate it. Same goes for the new Queen Of Earth, whenever they attacked the planet.
All three had their own biases they couldn't overcome. Couldn't see her power and forces for what they were. The woman was right that she could so easily play the role of a Villain, like those three wanted her too, but it wouldn't be her choice. Just some mold she was playing by, and considering any future incidents that could arise, even any sides of morality, would be mistaken to believe she couldn't just stay out of things entirely.
This whole mortal level business, was already serving to be one easy point she could use to excuse herself, knowing how many individuals thought themselves as heroes, despite having no business allying themselves with a planet they had never contacted in the first place. No reason other than it was right.
It was by that kind of logic that it was right for her own forces to kill, on the belief the saviors were trying to establish an alliance. Make a game out of who gets to talk to the leader of the planet first, and explain what chaos could ensue from two opposing sides killing off each other on a planet not their own. Battle was a matter she was rather keen on staying away from, sending only forces that were needed, but things could always change.
"That's the kind of thing I've never liked about this planet. This place and Namek are both benign enough to allow whoever wishes to step foot onto it, as if they have any real importance on their own. Going to hostile territory is just asking for death, and I can say with certain things here would go differently, if you challenged me just as Cambia had. The wench not only challenged me for having power that she lacked, but deemed it was her duty to stop another Caesar. As if anyone she hadn't met prior, and had more power than her, was automatically a threat. She only survived because of her family ties and Namek's own policies."
That was one of the definitions of plot armor, that she so detested. The blonde should have died that day, and leave her kid motherless, knowing how eager she was to parade around with that sword of hers. If that had happened recently on earth, she could have easily gotten away with killing that girl.
So adamant the blonde was, accusing that she had fit under the most simple of alignments like evil, that the swordsman was one of the top reasons she refused to be forced into doing anything. The girl could moan all she wanted, but it would be her own fault if Namek had gotten attacked again.
"I would say the line for insubordination lies in any new information that was gained. My own forces are aware they're responsible for their own deaths, and could easily be replaced by the time they returned."
From what the woman had already said however, she was willing to form ceasefires, so what was currently hostile territory in the halfbreed's eyes, could have also easily change if these two idiots had managed to obtain it. Knowing with people with this woman's kind of power, often tended to make it difficult to excuse killing those her own forces weren't aware of. Especially if they had enough of a mouth on them to say they were even worth her time.
No one below her own power level would run into her, without her own interests at hand. The idiots that ran their mouths the way Cambia did, were so much less likely to live in the future, if she could plan the events for their deaths right. Even if they had some kind of higher protection watching over.
With how long they were talking, it became rather easy to settle against the back of the wall behind her, as the conversation had went around topics that might resurface. She really did seem to have trouble with blondes, hearing herself bring up the swordsman and the queen now and again.
That inexperienced Saiyan male had been the only exception, but idiotic nonetheless, going to strike at her despite those around them being in agreement there would be no true harm. From what she was told by Touka as well, that man had probably took pride into saving Namekians too dumb to back away from things, and too slow to even be around higher powers, if they couldn't save themselves. Though things still wouldn't go wrong, with or without his help.
"She came to the planet without any forces, which I disagree with, knowing her power had barely lasted against two demons. Assuming she has any at all, waiting on Bris, I would still view it as a no. It's really Flare and her friends that would intervene and impose any moral alignment onto my actions. The humans that have already evacuated, are odd ones out as it currently is, as where their homes used to be will likely be taken by others."
That was the plan anyway. There was a certain precaution that needed to be taken however, when it came to introducing her own people to the surface, and constructing capsule homes, apartments, and mansions. Having development that was too fast would give those on Bris reason to return before she could plan with the demons on another earth invasion. This woman would be accounted for, when it came to trouble, but that would be their own issues to deal with.
She and a majority of her forces would be somewhere in space, with what minds were needed to maintain the future planet she had in mind. A trip to Namek however, would be sorely needed so she could speak again with the Guru there. She was prepared for rejection of her wish, which if she couldn't argue her way out of it, would only serve to be more reason to help the demons. A lesson to be had, for not giving her what she wished, despite any terms she could think of. Exiling herself from certain planets, and forces if need be, being one of those. The universe in its entirety however, would be ludicrous.
"It would. I understand the current feuds that beings around might have, but it's no reason not to work together for some common goal. I would say their lifespan is the cause for that, but it's a weak excuse regardless."
Not too many things they were talking about, really came at a surprise to her. Not just because of her own inherent disinterest since becoming a Matriarch, but because she had her own allies of different planets and heard of their own histories. Maiz willingly coming to earth with some others, because they were deemed too weak, made what was being mentioned unsurprising. Their people were meant to conquer planets, and earth had been a lost cause at this point.
"I have ways of handling it, though I doubt my own desires for it, are greater than your leader and other higher power."
What was the point of power, if the mortal level was going to get in the way of things? It was a dumb measurement, knowing that enough time passing, would fix a population all on its own. The one in charge of this Tournament Of Power, must have really been looking for specifics, if they might not want only a few races ruling the universe. She still couldn't buy the idea of a ceasefire working out. Especially not one worth a hundred years.
It was also rather perverted to think this being was given a 100 years for this universe's population into procreating enough to bring things to a normal level again. With how many hybrids she had already met, back when she had been a fledgling, Saiyans alone could carry most of that weight.
Nothing that would be good in her eyes, knowing she wanted Vampires to be more of a common sight. It would do brutish beings anyway, some good, sealing away their transformations into something more refined, if they wanted to avoid the issue with this mortal level in the long run. But she had doubts there too.
No matter how long her lifespan was as an ageless being, there would be a point in her pursuit for power, where it was easier to do what the Anubians did, and lounge around. Act as some divine entity, knowing most people wouldn't be able to match her rising power, and raising different generations.
"I suppose. Though knowing how the Alliance Saiyans are, its rather backwards, considering how they understandably get pissed when one of their own dies. Cambia and her own eagerness, which if led towards her death, will only prompt her son into being a possible loudmouth, that can't respect power like your subordinates. It's an unnecessary death waiting to happen."
Whether it depended on the person or not, it was still going to be asinine in her eyes, knowing that if the blonde had died, it was going to just trigger the anger of the Overseer. Didn't matter that it was the girl's own fault charging into action like that, or that she could be resurrected without the dragonballs, given the time to do so. There was going to be rage, because of the girl's ties, no matter how much she deserved it for her stupidity.
"And no matter how much I try, I still can't fathom a good excuse as to why she'd care for this planet so much, beyond it being her place of birth. To absolutely refuse any alliances, and try to make the planet sustain itself on its on, would take the kind of leadership she lacks. It's fine to leave an army on other planets, but they're trusting the Kold Demons in the first place, to continue hosting them like the Namekians are doing with the Saiyans."
Wintera couldn't have been the only xenophobic one of her kind, and given the power to do so, it was only temptation that stopped beings like her from doing a takeover. The Kold Demon's own emotions would need to overpower her reasoning, if she wished to attack her own planet, and get rid of the humans.
The fate of humans were one of the matters she disagreed on with the woman, wasn't going to voice more than was necessary. The role of pillars or stepping stones, she knew could be filled by inexperienced Saiyans like the one who challenged her on Namek. And she would continue to believe that, until hearing about a human who reached the kind of power that she had. Even then, it still wouldn't be as impressive without it being more than a handful.
"So I've heard. Earth could just as easily be given to your faction just as well, if the humans were to be moved elsewhere. Give reason to have it be less of a tourist trap."
If the woman's group of Saiyans had also been given Earth, she could just as easily pit them and the demons against each other. She doubted both Saiyan factions would really want to live on Namek together, and it was better to have one overall planet of Saiyans, leaving the Namekians to themselves.
An offer that was unlikely to be accepted, but she cared not what happened to the population of humans on Bris, anyway. Their deaths would make it easier for one side to take over the planet, which is the thing she wanted to see. Less competition for the dragonballs just as well. Resurrection and a new planet, were likely the most typical things beyond power, that those in the past had wished for. If only because of innate kindness for others.
The surprise had came from her announcing the blonde's power was at a million, was another thing she didn't share an opinion of. It was still weak in her eyes, compared to those she had personally met. Though she supposed being surrounded by powerhouses just made her standards higher than most.
"I assume she had to have been on the planet at least, when the Tree Of Might was around, and the humans evacuated. If this form surprises her, then a whole army should freeze her entirely."
A being, no matter on what planet, was likely always going to view themselves as the hero of their lives, or that they were in the right. It was just how nature worked, and without the kind of strength the host of this Tournament Of Power had, it was true it couldn't be easily changed either.
The woman was pretty clear on her opinion of her aunt, which wasn't anything she would really go against further, more than she already had. Such troubles were unknown to her in the first place, and too personal for her to see it as anything but something for the older Elemi to overcome, as one should when it came to empowerment. The news the alien wasn't on good terms with the Alliance, didn't seem familiar to her memories, but it was nothing to argue either.
"I only know she and her friends had a habit of stopping what they deemed a disaster to the planet, using their power. I don't believe they've ever really formed some kind of ceasefire, which I suppose would be difficult with some, knowing Caesar was one of their enemies. Of course, living in peace in the first place, I don't believe will ever be as entertaining as it could be. I doubt even if this mortal level business was to become spread out and known to those in space, we'd see less of any 'good' Saiyans aiding planets they have no business helping."
Like answering some innate call within them, people like Cambia were eager to play chance with their lives, if given the opportunity. No one asked for their help, but it was because they even had an ounce of power, that they chose to butt in what powerhouses would have been able to deal with on their own.
There would continue to be people running just as well, when things got too tense, despite the fact that they had approached the danger in the first place. The infuriating thing was that even her best technique wouldn't be a good excuse to kill those sort. It had to be done by those without public ties to her.
"And they wind up complaining anyway when a part of earth they have no reason to protect, gets destroyed, while putting the blame on those of your faction, or some other one. I've tried reasoning with Cambia, back on Namek, but her demon origins just made that impossible."
The woman didn't hide that she wanted to be stronger than this leader of hers. A possible takeover down the line, if she ever saw one. Betrayal even, knowing that they were currently associated with each other. Although this Tournament Of Power, might even change those apart of it enough for it to pass.
If those of this universe truly did stop their ways of hatred, then it was going to be a boring one hundred years. Villainy was supposed to exist, or why bother letting the concept of morality exist in the first place. This mortal level thing was always going to be in their mind thanks to the issue at hand.
Hearing again about the Demon Queen, and some of her interests, brought her into searching for some glint of recognition. But the lingering memories given to her by that man, just couldn't be deciphered on a whim. She knew some things were certainly true, having taken notes on it, though this was different.
In any case however, experimentation, and the nature of what this woman was implying, must have been monstrous. A sight she preferred to see over the more humanoid demons that were able to think. There would be no blame at all, if she could use some of these demons for her own personal vendettas.
"Whatever she's experimenting for, it'll take more than dna from a typical being, to really be successful."
A project to create the perfect being, perhaps? She had created Amalga herself, checking out old data, and searching for underground labs that were long abandoned. If not for there being undead, the air levels would have been more toxic to her, knowing how much dust and debris would have collected.
"Since it's the style of a tournament, I doubt any one fighter can take most of the hits then, which would be helpful. I'd still would rather have faith our top 5 would be more superior, if only for the top 3 pursuing different things over the years."
Whichever universe was better, the one to bank on in the first place had to be this one. If her leader was really stronger than Caesar, it was best to deal with the idea the universe they were against, couldn't match it. That man especially, she had some faith towards, possessing his own reality marble.
Lettis wasn't a familiar name to her, although by the sound of things, her rule had been a great one. There needed to be more females in power, knowing men like Caesar, were likely to just use their own for perversions. Even now, there were few females she knew of, that were around this kind of level, and didn't have ties to her. The greater the number, the likelier the universe would shape itself into being something different from male ideals.
"It's a difficult thing to carry an influential name, and I suppose other family ties had ruined it to be something positive, beyond any of your own efforts. Though there's also people expecting when it comes to reputation, despite most ones being recent."
No matter whether or not the woman's life was good or bad, being family of someone well known, would change things for sure. Seeing as how the woman had ended up in a different faction, and absolutely hated her aunt, it was obvious it was a different path than anything positive, though being expected to fill a role might or might not have been present. Anyone with decent power, were likely to be expected to play a role in battle nowadays.
"You should really read the tales of their kind on this planet. Whatever she does, and whether she prefers it or not, demons are supposed to be beneath even earthlings. Enough to where there's lore of summoning them using magic, in exchange for one's soul. Or how a mundane object that's blessed, is enough to make them cower back. It's all false, as far as I've seen and heard, but it's a good laugh picturing that woman."
If that was really how that woman was, then it was going to be an interesting meeting, forcing the woman to meet her in this mansion. She was going to talk down to her like she did with Caesar just as well, only without as much caution, now that she was an Antediluvian. Getting along with the queen, as a fellow one, would be delightful, but it couldn't be helped if they ended up hating each other. The woman would have to be as stubborn as those blondes for that to pass however. She thought herself as reasonable, even with her being unable to really fathom interest for too long, without transforming.
The laughter that came from the halfbreed at pointing out the obvious, she would say was a test of how her meeting with the Demon Queen, might go down. There was so much that had been said that she held her tongue on speaking more of, if only because it would reveal what wasn't necessary.
They went plenty back and forth, just as well, about who conquered what. The future really was going to be something to look forward to, knowing that her setting things up, would wind up setting forth a different of reactions. There was a chance of opposing forces coming together, which she would detest greatly, although their distraction would likely only allow her to perform some other task. They couldn't focus on multiple things at once after all.
"Their capability of absorbing others for power, is what makes one going after power, an annoyance. More bold for beings without power, than them just turning objects and people into chocolate for the same method, just as well."
Both would end up with the person's death, though by the sound of what she was told, it wasn't a guarantee that they would die. Merely be stuck in the alien's body for eternity, unable to leave, yet being used as some kind of power source. It was a risky move to have such idiotic beings around.
"Well it shouldn't take long to find out, if the situation is as dire as it's being made out to be. If one of the two Anubians I've encountered makes it on the team, I know there'll at least be one more with reason. I assume he has a temper I haven't seen though, being a God Of Destruction in training and all."
The memories of the canine didn't contain anything too unpleasant. From what she could recall, she had been stronger than the entity, which was great. Though if he makes it onto this team of theirs, then he had likely grown even more since they had last met, which had been so long ago now.
Base [x+1/x+0], Enrage [x2], Mastered Power [x5], Super Elemi [x13], Attuned Super Elemi [x20], Unleashed Super Elemi [x32/x24], Mastered Super Elemi [x35], True Elemental [x45], False God [x56/x55] True God [x60]
Well Tomina didn't disagree with that, at least in part. Those actions would more than likely get the attention of Caesar. Although he was so unpredictable it was hard to tell what he would or wouldn't do. At least for most people anyway. Maybe Nakiya had an idea on how his thought process worked, but Tomina doubted even she knew what made him tick.
So this Vampire wanted to do things her own way. In a sense she did understand her, yet not fully relate to that. She understood the desire to do what you wanted without others interfering. If the Vampire leaned towards any one side, it would make her enemies of another faction and get involved in battles she didn't necessarily want to take part in.
The Saiyan hybrid had no such qualms though. Even if you took out her love of battle, the environment she was born into and her heritage made it impossible for her to be neutral even if she wanted to be. She was associated with a certain ideology and people who knew the significance of her identify would most likely be unable to view her without tying her to those beliefs and side. So she responded to the Vampire not knowing what it was like to be in a neutral position.
"You know, sooner or later you're going to be faced with two choices. You're either going to have to pick a side to align yourself with, or establish yourself as one of the great powers of the Universe and make your own ideals clear. Some factions have ambitious individuals who will stop at nothing to achieve their goals. People will now be considering you as a big player: a variable they have to consider. You've become too powerful to remain unnoticed in the background. Which begs the question..."
Tomina leaned forward, peering at the Vampire’s face. This was something she wanted to get a get look at. Her reaction to her upcoming question would be very telling.
"Why have you become so strong? People who have obtained this level of power always have a driving motivation. Your neutrality makes it hard to pinpoint what that motivation is. You don’t seem to be the type to seek vengeance, and you're certainly no hero of justice either. Do you want to rule this planet that badly? You did express interest in the throne to me earlier. I'm interested in what would make you push yourself to get to this level. Even a fighting genius would have to go through hell to obtain the power we have."
Tomina stood up straight again, regardless of Rukia’s reaction to her question. The Vampire was being fairly open with her, so it was possible she would divulge that particular information about herself to the Saiyan hybrid. The conversation shifted over to the lenient policies that both Earth and Namek had regarding letting others come there. It was really a wonder how these two planets had remained free over the years, especially since they both had incentives that would attract many shady characters to them.
"Yeah, those places are just asking for trouble. For Namekians it kind of makes sense I suppose. They live in a bunch of tribes with their only piece of technology being their spaceships. So I suppose they're just happy to get any kind of guests. Earth being as lax as it is confounds me though. This planet has been attacked multiple times, and they still haven't bothered to set up defenses like a orbitary defense system. Granted we would have trashed it like we did the Brenchian's, but you'd think Earth would have one as well by this point."
Tomina gave the Vampire a smirk when she brought up the hypothetical situation of them fighting, once against citing this encounter with Cambia. Man, this blonde really pissed off the vampire.
“Alliance Saiyans love riding on their self-righteous rhetoric. Although this Cambia took things a step further and used Komatsu as a shield. She relied on the power of another to go against you. Although I will admit that I would love to take a crack at you someday. Not many people have my amount of power, and I want to see what kind of tactics Vampires employ."
A spar might be a good way to figure out what her abilities were. Although she would be at a disadvantage since she was deliberately holding herself back from achieving the same power her aunt used against her during their fight. As such, she would most likely stick to conversing with the Vampire for the time being.
Just talking about insubordination annoyed Tomina: she still was mad at the foolish actions that Carva and Rensu had taken part in. The worst part of it was that nothing was gained out of it. A couple of small sparks flew out from the hybrid's fiery hair.
"In my case I got nothing but the embarrassment that comes from your subordinates disobeying you and screwing up. The people who work under you know their place. As did the Saiyans in the Empire. They stayed in line, since the punishment for disobedience was usually death. Even before this Mortal Level deal, I couldn't just replace them like that. The Saiyan population is low enough as it is without me blowing away lower ranking ones to smithereens."
That was before Nakiya destroyed Saiya as well. Although the Saiyan population wasn't the only group of people discussed in such a manner, as their focus shifted back to Earth.
"Well normally I would agree with you with how foolish coming to a planet alone when you're expecting a fight. In her case though, it was actually the right call. The smartest option would have been for her to stay on Bris and not return to Earth until she had the strength to hold it, but if she was to come when she did expecting a fight, coming alone was the only way she could do it."
This seemed to be crazy at first glance. Why would it be smart to come for a fight alone? Tomina’s logic was made clear soon enough though.
"You and I have the luxury of having strong allies. As have all major powers in the galaxy. Excluding you along with Flare and company, Earth doesn't really have a strong fighter. In most organizations someone the strength of a Super Saiyan is considered above average."
Despite being of Earth, the environment the Vampire oversaw was remarkably similar to most galatians civilizations. Earth was a strange exception in how it was structured in terms of hierarchy.
"That level of power is freakishly strong from Earth's perspective though. So any allies she could bring would just get tossed aside like rag dolls. They aren't even strong enough to be a distraction. So this new queen would have still lost East City and more people on top of that had she brought any. They would have just been a burden to her. Still, I question her sanity by coming back to this place. Considering the state the Kold Empire is in right now, it probably would have been easier to take over Bris. I suppose home is where the heart is. No planet will ever take the place of Vegeta for me."
Tomina would never be able to return home though. It was gone, all thanks to Caesar and Nakiya. Tomina walked over to the wall, turning around and leaning on it. She was only a few feet away from the vampire now.
"The main reasons why it's so hard for everyone to gather together and cooperate briefly to save the universe is a combination of deep rooted hatred and resentment towards other people, and how selfish some individuals can be. Caesar had to be practically dragged to participate in the tournament. He would rather just let everything end if he didn't have some people he's fond of. He also wants to get back the powers that the higher ups took from him. Even at the possible threat to existence itself, the rest are truly selfish people who put their desires ahead of even self-preservation."
Tomina let out an amused chuckle, turning her head to look over at the Vampire. Despite being a resident here, she appeared to be under valuing her own homeworld.
"Well maybe you'd change your tune if you knew how valuable this rock actually is. In retrospect I'm glad that Nasu destroyed the Tree of Might before it drained the entire planet of its life force. Turns out the dragonballs aren't the only useful things that this backwater world has to offer. You'd want to rule this place too if you know what you would own if you did."
Ironically Tomina probably knew a little bit more about Earth's resources than the Vampire did. She doubted she knew about the time chamber for instance. The dragonballs were fairly common knowledge at this point though.Tomina briefly lifted her head away from the wall. She folded her hands behind her skull, leaning back against the wall and staring up at the sky.
"That's a trait that Saiyans as a whole share no matter what faction we're a part of. We aren't a very forgiving people. There have been instances where we held grudges against entire races for several generations for things that happened a century or two ago. We never really thought in terms of the very long term. That seems to be something that has to change though. It would be problematic if a bunch of loudmouths went around fighting anyone they didn't like, as you pointed out."
Like Tomina had mentioned earlier, the blonde probably wanted Earth in part because it was her home and she likely had attachments to it. Still, all of this came down to just one thing.
"She's made many risky and haphazard choices. She's putting faith in the Kold Demons for holding up their end of things, and expected everyone on Earth to just fall into line. She plays things by the rules while assuming everyone will follow them as well. She must have lived a sheltered life to have that kind of naivete."
Tomina turned her head and stared at the Vampire incredulously. Did she really just casually suggest to move the entire human race off of Earth that casually? Even if it was just a hypothetical scenario, this woman said those words without blinking an eye. A very wide grin spread across Tomina’s face.
"If you're trying to propose to me, then I have to inform you that I already have a mate. Cause damn! If you helped move all the Earthlings to another planet permanently and we go to settle here, it would be one of the best gifts I've ever received in my life. You have idea how much I want to control this planet. My mother invaded this planet at the height of her power and failed to take it due to treachery. Taking the planet that escaped her grasp is something I've dreamed about for a long time."
Tomina didn't even know the name of the Vampire, yet found herself talking to her the way she'd speak to a close ally at a bar. She hadn’t even know this person that long and was already taken a liking to her. Tomina's smile faded slightly though, as she slid one hand out from underneath her head and stroked the side of her hair with her fingers.
"Although that would mean living on a planet with a region that is entirely uninhabitable. That isn't too much of an issue since we lived on Saiya even after the God of Destruction blew off a chunk of it. The real problem is having to deal with all those defenders of Earth who would crawl out of the woodwork. Then they'll be like Stop going after Earth! and "You're turning back into the Saiyan Empire and are doing just as Lettis did! And my personal favorite, I'll have to beat some sense into you to get through your egos! You're all ignorant or thick headed to attack a fucking peaceful planet! My aunt in particular had quite a few choice words for us."
Tomina tried doing impressions of Chris, Komatsu, and Flare respectively. Her Chris and Komatsu ones barely sounded like them, while her interpretation of Flare was pretty spot on. Tomina rolled her eyes, snorting as she recalled all the self righteous crap thrown their way.
"I love a good fight, but even if the mortal level wasn't an issue, Earth is defended by the biggest concentration of self-righteous bastards in the universe. It would only be worth it if the dragonballs were active, but apparently Earth's set is inert. So it would be easier to claim literally any other planet besides Earth."
Tomina’s mood shifted up again when Rukia once again talked about the new queen. Boy, she really didn't like her at all either. Tomina just shook her head with an amused smile on her face.
"Yeah, she's a shitty queen and you have a seething contempt for blondes. I don't think much else needs to be said about those two."
Alas, they couldn't focus on the fun parts forever. Now they had to get back to business. There were quite a few vital things to be discussed.
"That's my aunt and her friends in a nutshell. Eternal peace would be boring for sure. Although the mortal level needs to be raised and the overall destruction controlled. The amount of devastation of late has been too frequent and widespread. Yes, those 'good' Saiyans will always stick their nose into things. That's just how they are."
Yeah, that was preaching to the choir. Tomina let out an exasperated sigh as she slid one of her hands over, pressing it against her forehead.
"It’s one thing if they fought to protect people and places that was important to them. It’s natural to hate people who threaten those. But when you do crap like abandon one part of your planet and then constantly bitch and moan to your enemies about things like attacking while they were being distracted by the other threat, then they have no right to talk down to you like they have the moral high ground on you. Like, no shit we took advantage of an opening. It’s called strategy, and going by how they handled things during the invasion, they don’t even know what the fuck that is.”
Granted, Tomina had some issues with how Nasu left Saiya vulnerable enough for strong enemies to take advantage of. At least he had a strategy though. Those defenders of Earth were the most disorganized fighting force she had ever seen. The fusion technique was something that God gave them to begin with. If it weren’t for that, they likely would have lost. They couldn’t even had won that fight without their hands being held.
Tomina lowered her hand, looking over at the Vampire as the conversation shifted back to Cambia. The Saiyan hybrid was grateful that they were talking about this subject matter again. She still got angry every time she thought about how the fight on Earth had played out. Dissing blondes she had never met before helped her calm down.
“It could have just as easily been the Saiyan blood within her. One thing Demons and Saiyans have in common is that we don’t typically compromise. It’s either our way or the way of the blade: I’m willing to bet Cambia would have bisected you if she had the strength to do so. It’s something else you should keep in mind when dealing with Nakiya: she isn’t exactly the compromising type either.”
Speaking of the Demon Queen, the conversation went towards her experimentation. God knew what twisted abominations she planned to unleash against the universe. Although Tomina knew a little bit about her experimentation.
“She does seem to use DNA samples of notable beings for her experiments to increase their potency. Nasu’s mate Queen Kinoko was a Saiyan that Nakiya genetically engineered before she betrayed her creator. She uses samples she gathered during the Alliance Empire war for her Saiyan creation. Kinoko was created using samples from multiple Saiyans, and there was plenty of material to work with. While some of the Saiyans today far surpass the generation before them, the era where the Alliance and the Empire were at the height of their power had the largest concentration of powerful Saiyans in modern history. I’m fairly sure Lettis’s DNA was used to make Kinoko, and I can speculate as to the other samples that Nakiya used. It is a long list though.”
Tomina hoped that Nakiya hadn’t used Natto or Tomoroko’s DNA to create Kinoko. Considering that they had a kid… no, she didn’t want to consider it at all. It would just be all kinds of messed up. Tomina shook her head to clear it of those disturbing thoughts. She managed to shift her focus to a much more pleasant subject: the tournament that would decide the fate of the universe.
“It means that we have to be as efficient as possible. How much energy each fighter has left is crucial. There has to be a few wasted movements as possible. Since healing items are not allowed, there is virtually no room for error in this competition either. It all comes down to the little details.”
There were some legacies that far overshadowed your own achievements, despite becoming strong herself. Queen Lettis was long dead, yet her presence loomed over the Saiyan race like a dark cloud. This person talked about the difficulty of carrying a name, although she had no idea what that was truly like. Especially since there wasn’t an Earth equivalent to her mother.
“Lettis has gone down in history as the Wicked Queen by most of the Saiyans alive today. Five decades ago she became the first of my race to achieve the Super Saiyan transformation in the modern era. Until that point, the transformation had become nothing more than a centuries old myth. She led our race to victory against the Kold Empire, ending a war that spanned 200 years. She owned nearly every planet in this arm of the galaxy at one point. That is the legacy that I must live up to, and the person who’s shadow I must escape. That name carries weight among my kind, even to this day.”
So, the demons seemed to be the equivalent of her mother in terms of mythical figures of evil reputation. Granted both reputations were probably well deserved. Tomina lifted her head again, sliding both hands into her pockets before leaning back against the wall.
“Well, I guess I got to get cracking and get some light reading down one of these days. You should do some research of your own and look at records dating back 30 years ago. That was the year my mother tried to take over Earth. This planet was the only one to escape her grasp while the Saiyans were still a united people.”
More sparks flew off of her head, a flash of anger glinting in her eyes for just a moment. It was a brief glimpse into her bitter resentment towards the blue planet. It was just that though: a fleeting moment that most people would have missed.
“The demons have mythical status here it seems. Although there is always a glimmer of truth in old legends. The Super Saiyan transformation was thought just to be a wild myth past down through generations. Oh, I doubt that nonsense of blessed items or whatever religious drabble the humans have has any merit to it. However, Demons do seem to be fond of various means of control. Kinoko informed me on one such method that Nakiya employs. She has access to a substance known as cursed water. It’s a potent substance that gives the drinker a power boost. It’s so potent in fact that it warps the drinker into a partial demon, giving them access to some of their abilities. It comes at a few costs though.”
Tomina figured it was best to let Rukia know of the risk of the cursed water before she encountered Nakiya. It was quite possible that the demon queen would try and get Rukia on her side using some more nefarious methods.
“It completely corrupts whoever drinks it, magnifying their very worst traits. The type of corruption varies from person to person according to Kinoko. It warps your physical appearance, making you take on demonic traits. And it allows for Nakiya to influence you mentally. It isn’t full on mind control, but she’ll be able to influence your emotions and actions to a degree. It’s interesting that the humans actually have an accurate depiction of a tool that the demons have at their disposal. “Summoning a Demon in exchange for your soul” is an apt description of the cursed water. Don’t drink it if you value your free will.”
Tomina raised an eyebrow, sliding down the wall slightly as Rukia divided into what she knew about the Majins. Tomina was skeptical to say the very least. Admittedly she had encountered some pretty strange entities and had everything she knew about the universe pulled out from under her recently, but a line had to drawn somewhere.
“You’re quite the storyteller yourself. Creatures that absorb other beings power and turning things into chocolate? That’s a tall tale rivaling the stories that humans have written about demons. If there is an entire race of beings capable of absorbing others for power, why haven’t I heard anything about them? You’d think that a creature with those kind of abilities would be able to amass power quickly.”
Tomina’s eyes widened as Rukia brought up the possibility of an Anubian joining their team. It wasn’t that the idea of one of those creatures joining the team was shocking in itself. It was the fact that she instantly knew the identity of the next person that Cornatto was going to recruit. And she didn’t like it one bit.
“Oh fuck me. It’s going to bethat Anubian. For a brief moment I thought there would be someone on the team I didn’t hate in some way. But nope, now I’m going to have to tolerate the flea-infested mutt who killed one of my subordinates.”
Tomina buried her face in her hands. The low groan that came out of her mouth was audible despite being muffled by the gloves. There was no reason to suspect that it wouldn’t be him. He was a very strong individual, and had fought against the Saiyan Galactic Kingdom when they planted the tree of might. Cornatto had participated in that same battle as well, so he both saw the Anubian and felt its power. Oh, this was just great. At this rate there was only going to be one person on the team who she wouldn’t want to stab in the eye with a hot poker. Oh, she liked this Vampire enough to fight beside her without any qualms towards her at the event. But it didn’t seem likely that she was going to join the team, despite the hybrid’s best efforts to bring her onto it. Fan fuckity tastic.
Was it so hard to believe someone with power, could choose not to participate in what they didn't wish?
The woman's words about how her options were limited, suggested as much, and she doubted trying to explain it to anyone else, would have produced a different response. People were just so adamant about what they knew, ignoring that free will was given in the first place, to give others a choice.
She wasn't going to be trapped into a position by anyone or anything, if it could be helped. Especially not when that man, if it wasn't for his actions being clearly evil, was practically doing the same. Using his power however he wished, and only agreeing to some kind of condition, for this Tournament of Power. She wouldn't say he had been at a loss in the situation at all. It was likely just inconvenient not to form some kind of compromise.
Benefiting from something in the first place, was what she wanted in any decision on the pretenses the woman was making out. The idea that things were suddenly going to change for her, just from becoming an Antediluvian, was already proven wrong by the fact this recruiter missed her in the first place.
She couldn't have even gotten the honor of declining to his face, like with any proposal that came to her, that wasn't sound. There were too many people who assumed rather than actually try convincing. She was far from being a hero, if she had decided to save someone of interest to her. And killing off demons or whatever nutjob beneath her power, and speaking like some loudmouth, wasn't going to make her evil, beyond both groups and their associations.
"You're implying consideration would be a bad thing."
With the other cities having already fallen, and West City still remaining, she was already influential enough to control things in a way that could have been excused. Whatever the new queen could be planning to do, rushing construction, or even letting those not qualified to do it, was only going to wrack up reasons of incompetence. Or at least give her lawyers reason to paint tyranny. Even having her current alliances send their people here, would help.
She might not have knew what vision the blonde was trying to create, but her or any higher power being around, was likely involved. The possibility of some forced exile, was already considered in that restraining order. That route was just the most basic of things, and anyone who thought themselves bright, would have tried getting around it, by naming the planet something else. Which she had already considered herself, when it came to ways her agreement could have been voided. Her employees would just have to consider other things she couldn't see at the moment, that might have been similar in nature.
"These other higher powers, or their associates, like this recruiter, was already late in the first place. And if my ancestors were able to keep themselves underwraps through culling, I'm sure it'll continue to remain that way fine. What you've said about Caesar being forced, is an exaggeration. He has enough comfort in his power to attack the gods, and it's his emotions that'll continue to have him pitted against others."
It wasn't meant to sound like some kind of statement that she would be different, which was the kind of fallacy that ended up only influencing things to lean that way. Nor did it really mean to say that her current actions were right. Just that the opportunity had came and gone, by the time anyone as influential as she was had asked for anything at all, it would be under her own guise, knowing she'd have planted people she personally trained all over.
That was what her Saiyan was clearly starting to be to the Namek Saiyans. Someone that could be trusted, a project to tear away from that anger and improve on. Except that what reasoning the girl had, was limited, and it was clear to anyone who was observant, the girl didn't care for words at all.
"And I prefer it that way, because if you're expecting some kind of past abuse as a drive, then you're overthinking things."
They had already talked for so long, and the conversation didn't seem like it was going to really end just yet. Having to really listen to what was going on, was rather tiring on her mind, but it was the power within her, that kept her going. A queen like herself was going to hear plenty of uninteresting things. It would be around her people, who she'd be able to at least stand, but they were going to be tried and true, just like any other matter.
She could tell her own features shaped itself to offer what was essentially a polite smile, as if that was all that really needed to be said about the matter. And her response in the first place, wasn't anything complex. Anyone who knew about Vampires, and this planet's media influences on them, or had even met her allies, would have noticed a few things. One was that her kind were likely to be female, and another was that they were high school aged.
It was truly nothing but a high schooler tossing their former lives away, and making the best of things, knowing they couldn't be turned back. Young girls who were given power and strength beyond any normal human, with what covens they found themselves into, being the ones to shape them the rest of the way.
But there were exceptions of course. Yuki, one of her former coven leaders, had turned at the age of 24, from what she had been told. She'd say beyond the ancients who had been around longer than most of them, it was rather rare to find an older generation. But Vampires adapted, thanks to their blood magic.
"Claiming the title of queen for this planet, is no longer beneficial, I'll give you at least that."
Namek had changed a lot since the Saiyan Alliance had gathered there. The grass itself was already imprinted on by what infrastructure was already built, although she doubted the slugs were really peace loving enough to allow their landscape to go on and becoming much of an actual city.
If that had actually happened, then it really only meant the Saiyans really were using the people for their dragonballs. Protection could be argued as to why or something similar in vain, but still wasn't something she'd really buy herself. Just a race of being trying to remain in power.
"You've really need to head to Namek and see how much things had changed. I doubt you'd be the odd one out, if Natto's Saiyans were revived by now with their dragonballs."
Cambia was possibly always going to be a topic she could talk about, again and again. Or really any blonde that gave her any trouble she felt wasn't deserved. Both the ones she knew of were too persistent for their own good, and would only bring themselves unnecessary difficulty, in what she felt was more one sided than anything else. Logic was the one thing they were prone to ignoring, and origins or similar being the reason, didn't matter.
The idea of a spar wasn't something she really shared the opinion of. If it were possible, she'd dodge for days, trying to be forced into such a thing, but multiple attacks made it difficult to do so. Action would have to be taken at some point, and it was very likely she'd wait until they exhausted themselves first. It was something that man had done when he had been in South, just taking the brunt of damage, rather than firing and ending pitiful lives.
"It's not a frequent request, outside of my own forces, nor has it really hold my interest for awhile. But I'd agree to it, if I must."
Her becoming a Matriarch was when she had stopped really doing any spars on her own whim. The innate desire that came with that strength, had her focus on population and increasing it, which involved actually convincing people they'd want to turn. And under her rule, it wasn't going to be through trickery.
Turning into a Vampire would practically be throwing one's life away, knowing it made one infertile, and ascensioning to higher power affecting the mind. It was why there could only be a certain number of Matriarchs and Patriarchs in existence for her kind, while the rest were very likely to be wiped out.
The woman being forced not to kill her idiots, due to population, was really the kind of thing that one was forced into. It was good for her, knowing their lower population meant her own kind could rule, but they were likely to rise again. Which was where having higher influence came into play there.
"She definitely grabbed the easiest opportunity into doing so, what with the other cities already being ruined. Wherever Flare and her friends were at the time, I doubted they were concerned, knowing her power innately felt much lower than what it actually was."
Their reasons for not being around were their own, and thinking back to it, the blonde's power was really nothing much. It could still kill off the average human for sure, and she so wanted to assume that it was her own reputation that kept them from interfering. But that was still only speculation.
"Then they haven't been exposed to enough higher powers. The flat million the blonde likely was, wouldn't be much to a demon with an ounce of importance."
Earth was a population that should have been used to it by now, and knew to hide in bunkers with how likely frequent it was. The blonde would have lost her people for sure, but it wasn't as if she hadn't already thought herself to be steps above what was already stated or had been considered would happen.
Caesar supposedly having gotten his powers taken from him, since their first and currently only encounter, was a bit of news she wasn't aware of. Although she still doubted he would have found something upsetting, or out of his control. Even without his reality marble, he was still strong enough to kill.
"If you're referring to whatever's special about the Lookout near East, where Flare and her friends hangout, it's only the lack of an audience, as the place has been whored out by people interested in climbing its tower, that has kept me from visiting personally."
And she couldn't possibly care less about actually going. There was a time when she had considered doing so herself, and had even sent Ayumi there to deliver a message that she was interested, but things changed. Those who climbed the tower had likely used up a good portion of anything valuable.
There was a limit when it came to power, which the woman seemed to be implying, just as well. If it was something endless, someone who would have gone there, could have easily been one of the gods themselves, capable of interacting with the current ones. But that obviously wasn't the case.
Cambia leaving her kid motherless, or really, owning a child at all, wasn't likely to lead anywhere good. The kid would either wind up being as soft and idiotic as the swordsman was, or someone who challenged higher powers because of family ties. Or even some kind of mixture of the two she wasn't considering.
Either way, it wasn't good. Both of the girl's genes were already a bad mix when it came to personality, and she definitely wouldn't have hesitated to kill the girl, if she had been on some other side. The blonde was fortunate to be born and be associated with those who considered themselves saviors.
"That was my impression by her attire. You wouldn't find anyone wearing her kind of garments, or holding that kind of comfort in claiming a title, while also lacking the power to do so."
Putting faith in the Kold Demons, was correct in being wrong. They were supposedly once feared, but were now stepped all over by the Saiyans. Though that wasn't something that needed to be addressed, when she was talking to one. It was clear both beings also still despised each other greatly.
"They've already chosen to act as refugees on Bris. It's really this new queen's choice keeping them from forming a civilization there, like the Saiyans on Namek."
It was a clear exaggeration, the woman's response to her casual reply. Though she already looked down on plenty of humans, and saw even her own allies as assets to be moved where she wished them to be. It was all apart of spreading her influence, and earthling population was one of the obstacles to that.
"They're also the odd ones out as is, whether on Bris, or still on the planet. Their outsiders over there, and it's a time of repair here. The conditions are hardly liveable at the moment, beyond this city."
She was likely always going to be rather matter of fact when it had came to talking about these things. With the earthling population being already split, it was better to just have them all on one planet entirely. It just obviously couldn't be earth, with its current lack of infrastructure in other cities.
"Conquering planets in the first place, your kind has already has history of. Some other group trying to stop it, could easily just remain on their own planet."
That must have essentially been what these two different Saiyan groups were. Those she allied herself not wanting to just go around doing that, while its other half did. Although she still felt as if this woman's own faction was likely to approach the classic route of having only one being to be around.
The impressions that were done, she didn't recognize, though it must have been Flare and her friends, seeing as how the last one had been pretty spot on. The woman definitely had her own persistent feelings on others, though unlike her, it likely wasn't something which was often discussed.
Only a shrug had been given in response to the acknowledgement that she really did talk about the blondes she knew a lot. It was really inevitable to cease that kind of thing. Though she was really only answering the woman's thoughts in the first place. And she could hardly get tired of talking down about them.
"I doubt there's ever going to not be something to blame just as well, for failure."
For some people at least. Though this were an entire force that they were talking about, rather than one individual, ignoring the woman's aunt. Abandoning the planet in its entirety wasn't just possible just as well. There was also likely to be survivors, they just wouldn't have a chance to do so any longer, if it were to really be conquered successfully. Which knowing that earth had remained a society that lacked any of the woman's faction, meant the opposite.
More information had been given to her about the Demon Queen, which struck her as a possibility. That she would be difficult, even though what she had earlier, made them seem so similar. If they really did differ when it came to being able to compromise, than it was nothing that she couldn't just forced.
The experimentation, just as well, oddly seemed like the demon was relying on mostly Saiyans. Their power might have been the most expelled force of nature, but variety was good to have now and again. It would also prevent having someone opposing from utilizing a weakness. And Saiyans did have a few.
"Whether she is willing to compromise or not, she must have heard by now about this mortal level just as well, through Caesar. He has enough kids to send the information through them even. I don't think it should be too difficult to pull off, no matter how long it takes. Though I also doubt she's really the type to give in, if it had to come down to a spar either. In either case, it wouldn't change my position."
The tournament not allowing healing items was really going to make things rough for sure, if those on the team really didn't have efficient enough transformations to last in its entirety. But that was a problem that belonged to its participants, rather than with her, so she couldn't care less.
"Being part Elemi, you'd just have to deal with what kids could come out of this ceasefire on an opposing side."
Which was why she was continuing to wait for earth's dragonballs to be brought to life, for so long. It was only recently did she get suggested to do otherwise, knowing one of the first things she wanted was to form a planet of her own. Self-refilling blood rivers and all, didn't exist.
Nor twilight skies in honor of one pinkette she had knew in the past. It was certainly a sight that wouldn't have been bad on the eyes, she could agree on that. It was also quite different enough from the other planets she had already come across for sure, knowing a lot of the universe had similarities.
"I suppose it already considers mind resistance then. Either way, it's a desperate move for sure. Your faction's Tree of Might would be more appealing."
This cursed water was specific enough in name to avoid such a thing in the first place. Knowing just what it did and its effects were really something of an added bonus. There must have been a good portion under the Demon Queen's control, if she was so willing to give out such a thing to possibly anyone.
"They've always been docile in nature, as far as I've seen, happening upon them in my early days in East City, where the land there is more serene compared to this one's wasteland. It's to the point where they're childlike in reasoning, and those straying from that are likely to continue with that in destruction. They've had some history with earth's military just as well, and it's really the likelihood of slapping one on the wrist, that deters the others from attempting absorption. Though going back further to what history they might have had, is what the gods would only know."
It was why she had been rather careful as a fledgling, upon seeing what the Majin could do. Although it turned out to be rather unnecessary, having heard about how what a taboo it apparently was in the community, to go around absorbing. But she doubted all Majins were even aware of such a rule.
"If it's really the same one, then my experience was when he was at his weakest. He had admitted something of the sort too, though I didn't really kill anyone I invited into this mansion back then. Of course, I no longer also go out of the way to invite strangers either."
Base [x+1/x+0], Enrage [x2], Mastered Power [x5], Super Elemi [x13], Attuned Super Elemi [x20], Unleashed Super Elemi [x32/x24], Mastered Super Elemi [x35], True Elemental [x45], False God [x56/x55] True God [x60]
Well this individual didn't seem to be all that worried about over exposure. As long as she kept herself neutral anyway. Which was a good attitude to have if you were inevitably going to become a major player in things.
"It isn't on it's own. In fact having a well known reputation and being acknowledged for your strength is a good thing. It means the strong ones will take you seriously and the weak will tread lightly. Well, most of the time. It can be detrimental if your reputation leads to others acting against you. Which is part why you've worked so hard to remain neutral as much as you can."
Well it definitely seemed like this person wasn't going to join the tournament. It might have been a different story had she not slipped under Cornatto's radar. The topic also shifted back to the blue haired madman, much to Tomina’s annoyance.
"I suppose I should have expected this kind of answer since neither of us has given the other our names. You and your kind prefer to remain in the shadows from the look of things. I don't really blame you since Cornatto didn't ask you himself. Caesar is much stronger than those Gods of Creation. Although the God of Destruction is just on a whole other level then him."
Honestly Tomina didn't really have a proper comparison point that could make the Vampire understand just how outclassed Caesar was compared to the only two people she knew that were stronger than him. It was something that the Vampire would just have to witness firsthand to comprehend it.
"The only way he's getting away with disrespecting her the way he has lately is because she needs him to survive, and he knows it. At this point his emotions aren't the thing pitting him against everyone: At this point, I'd be surprised if there was was anyone outside of his Empire and Nakiya's camp that doesn't despise him."
Tomina really wouldn't envy the blue haired... child? When the tournament ended. He wouldn't have any leverage over Lagerus at that point. He had been shamelessly checking her out, among other things. Tomina didn't think the God of Destruction would forget about that anytime soon.
Well, honestly Tomina didn't know what she expected. Of course this person wasn't going to open up to her completely so easily. Although studying her, Tomina didn't think she was lying. Although it was hard to tell with this one.
"It's usually not as much as a long shot as you think it is. Every strong person I know of has not had a happy childhood, to say the least. If you grew up normally, then it makes me all the more curious as to why you've pushed yourself to become this powerful. I suppose I'll have to remain curious though, won't I?"
It was then that she saw the Vampire smile for the first time since she met her. That was strange in itself, but what was even weirder was that Tomina couldn’t tell if it was a genuine smile or not. It seemed like something that was deliberately planned out. Yet from Tomina’s experience, faking emotion was something you did to deceive someone. And they were being fairly straightforward with one another with whatever they decided to diverge to the other. Tomina hoped that this person wouldn’t be nearly as hard to read in an actual fight if that ever happened. That would be much more difficult to deal with then the Vampire’s already powerful strength.
It appeared that they were both on the same page about claiming Earth as its Queen. As it was right now, it would be a lot of effort to own a whole lot of nothing. The comment about Namek was an interesting one, although actually going there...
"Ohhh joy. I can't wait to be hated by Alliance Saiyans and told how evil I am by a judgemental blonde. Even if the tournament wasn't about to happen, there's only a few things that would make the experience tolerable."
Tomina snorted, rolling her eyes at just the thought of dealing with those irritating Saiyans. At least the prospect of a spar in the future would be interesting. Tomina wondered what the Vampire was capable of, and would most certainly want to see what they could do in combat. Each species had their own special abilities and traits, and she knew nothing about what a vampire could do in combat. Unfortunately, that wasn’t going to happen today.
“A spar with you would prove to be a good fight, I have no doubt of that. Sadly I already I have a particular training method for the tournament in mind, and I don’t have time for anything else. A spar with you later down the road is something I want for sure. In fact, there’s something in particular that I’ll need to test on someone strong.”
Tomina kept what she meant purposefully vague for good reason. What she wanted to test wasn’t something she wanted to go into right now. It was good that she got the conversation as far from Namek as she could get it right now. On the bright side, when she eventually did have to deal with the Alliance Saiyans again, it would probably be a more tolerable experience then what this blonde Queen had gone through. Having the strength to deal with people who didn't like you made all the difference.
"I suspect she expected Flare and the others to intervene like they did for the tree. I suppose East City wasn't that important to them with the amount of people left in it. That blonde lost that gamble yet somehow lucked out."
Tomina crossed her arms, herself looking cross at the idea that her squad members had not known any better due to a lack of exposure to strong powers. Honestly, it happened for no reason.
"There are plenty of strong powers in the Kingdom, so my subordinates had plenty of exposure. I'm sure that blonde felt the powers fighting at the Tree of Might, so she had exposure too. Higher level demons could certainly wipe the floor with her."
Tomina’s face broke out into a wide grin at the Vampire's reasons for not visiting the lookout yet. Well, it looked like she was about to have a lot of fun with the current conversation they were having.
"Oh come on, there's no need to hide it under that kind of language. You want to go the lookout, but are just too shy to come out from your Dari mansion. It really is a shame, cause you're missing out on quite a few interesting things on that lookout. But alas, the constant crowds foil you so."
Tomina chuckled, likely more amused by her own human much more then the Vampire probably was. It wasn't easy for Tomina to stay too serious about things for too long. Or rather, she didn't want to stay focused on the more annoying things their conversation focused on.
Well, she had tried. It looked as though the conversation just kept on going back to the blonde. Oh well, at least it was a interesting subject matter. The Vampire didn't have to describe Cambia's clothing to be on the same page as her.
"Dressing in very revealing clothing is a sign of confidence, whether it's in just your looks or other things that make you comfortable enough to wear them. It's also a cultural thing: we're more comfortable with showing more skin. I prefer not to show too much off in public though: I only want people looking at me on my own terms, and not ogling me as they please."
So, the humans had fled to Bris? No wonder she could barely feel any energy on the planet outside of West City. Tomina felt a bit of satisfaction in that: the humans were forced to flee their homeworld for once.
"Well they still have a homeworld. They’re clinging desperately to the possibility of returning home. Rebuilding things will take a long time without using the dragonballs. I have no idea how they'll be able to fix the North. It's more inhospitable then the icy wasteland they've taken shelter on. Relying on the Kold Demons for charity: now that's true desperation right there."
Tomina found it odd that they were just casually talking about conquering planets and admitting that they wanted to kill certain people. The Saiyan hybrid wasn't complaining though. It was a breath of fresh air to run into someone this open minded. She could talk to her freely about things most people would have an issue with.
"I know! I mean, I love a good fight, don't get me wrong. But these days people keep sticking their nose into things that aren't their business. Nakiya and Caesar’s forces attacked us while we were in the middle of invading what was previously Brench. They had no reason to get involved in that fight. The Cerulean Empire had just suffered a major defeat on Natto and Nakiya could have just stayed in Makai and done nothing. And don't even get me started on self-righteous people who defend planets because it's wrong to invade them."
The Vampire casually shrugged her shoulders, much to the hybrid's interest. Between this and the smile she wondered if she was getting comfortable talking with her. If that was the case, then Tomina was making serious progress.
"Everyone blames someone else for wrongs that befall them. There's always someone who has wronged them in some way who they direct their hatred towards. And often times they become the vocal point of their hatred. I'm quite familiar with that feeling."
Oh god, Caesar was procreating. Granted that didn’t really surprise her since he pressured Flare into having sex with him and was shamelessly eyeing the God of Destruction. It seemed like he put his dick into any hole it could fit in.
Tomina visibly shuddered at the thought of him spreading his offspring throughout the galaxy. If he wasn't one of the main contributors to planets blowing up, then he would be contributing to the mortal level by a significant amount. He probably had a lot of children, which was something Tomina did not want to think about.
Rukia was being a little bit optimistic about her future interaction with the demon queen. It was amusing since Rukia had called one of her ideas idealistic earlier. Well, if that was the mindset she would take interacting with Nakiya, then Tomina wasn't going to stop her. Things probably wouldn't end well though.
"Well it depends whether or not she cares about the mortal level. Caesar is living proof that there are people who don't care whether or not they exist. From what I've gathered, she had a logical way of approaching things though. Nakiya isn't the type to have a friendly spar. If a fight erupts, it will be the real deal."
Well that was unfortunate. Tomina's mind had shifted back to Caesar spreading offspring everywhere. It couldn't be helped with where the conversation had shifted to.
"I am going to live a good two thousand years at least, so dealing with multiple generations is something I'm going to have to get used to. I will keep a watch on the children of notable individuals as much as possible. Although that might prove to be a challenge. I'm not worried about dealing with them in a fight if it comes to that though."
Tomina let out a huff of annoyance. She received yet another reminder of one of the things about the invasion that had gone horribly wrong for the Kingdom. A lot of things had gone wrong for them.
"It was more preferable to the cursed water. Nasu destroyed it in the middle of the fight though. His opponents got into his head and he blew it up to make a point. Since it didn’t finish the cycle and produce another seed, it's gone for good. Nasu could have at least forced our enemies to expend energy by letting them destroy it. Oh well, at least I got two fruits out of it."
The more she heard about the Majin, the weirder they got. The explanation as to why she likely hadn't heard of them was odd to say the least. They seemed to be heavily entwined with Earth, like a lot of alien life forms. Tomina still didn't understand it.
"These Majin sound like they're living time bombs. I can see why you don't want a rough member of their race running about unchecked. They would become a problem if they destroyed and absorbed anything they happened upon."
So Rukia had encountered this Anubian before. And he seemed to be weaker when she ran into him. No doubt a big factor in his increased strength was the time chamber that she had recently learned about. Tomina gave the Vampire a wry grin, looking at her in amusement.
"Is that why we're still talking in the front yard? You've been awfully rude to me since you haven't invited me in or given me your name. Why did you invite people to your mansion to begin with, and what made you stop? I'm also curious about what you and the Anubian talked about. What was your impression of him?"
Despite calling the vampire rude, she didn't seem all that offended. She was engaging the other woman in playful banner. Tomina straightened against the wall, her smile fading a bit as she moved onto a more serious subject matter.
"It looks as though you aren't joining the tournament, but there's still some things to discuss. You seem to want a few people dead, but you don't want to ruin your reputation. One of the purposes of the organization I plan on founding is for members to help each other out with their operations. For example, you wish you could have killed Cambia. If you asked me to kill her and if I was interested in doing that, then I could help you with that. I don't have to worry about an image problem."
Tomina was far from trying to get Rukia on her side. Having an ally of her strength would prove to be very beneficial later down the line.
“That's just one of the many perks of the organization: you'll have people who can potentially help you do things that would be troublesome for you to go. It's something to consider when debating whether or not you wish to join."
Once again, Tomina carefully studied the Vampire to see how she would react. As she said before, she didn't want an answer until she came back after the tournament. But her response here would be very telling. Personally Tomina hoped that they would get along and work together with the Vampire. She had decided that she liked this person a lot. She wouldn't mind calling her a friend if things went well. That was all up to the Vampire now. Did the Vampire at least tolerate her enough to work together with the Saiyan hybrid?
There were plenty of ways things could have gone down, on what the blonde could have possibly done to get leverage over her, if anything at all. She had really thought a lot about it, and things had still winded down to any fallout resulting in either battle, or some kind of war enacted between them.
Just who was left on earth, who would have really minded her killing off the human population, if it wasn't for this mortal level business? Galen wasn't strong enough to beat her, and the purpose of conquering in the first place, was to cause ruin to the cities that were around. While Flare and her friends, seemed like they were likely going to preoccupied with this tournament. Possibly long enough to come back to a ruined earth, if she went with this idea.
Though it was still really too bold in her eyes. Something she knew wouldn't require all of her forces, and it really shouldn't, but it really would subject her into forming some kind of presence on where her standing was with the planet What it could possibly mean just as well, to her Namek alliance.
It was a troubling thing for sure, and would make more sense to do, if she had her own planet to rule. Earth wasn't something that was hers, and easily could have been just this morning, if it didn't mean she would likely somehow hear that swordsman on Namek go on about her being evil for taking over.
That was still in consideration she would have vaporized the body of this current new queen, and what time it took for the demons to be introduced into society themselves. She could at least say it was likely an alliance between the blonde and the demons weren't going to be a thing.
If only because she had already gotten there first and formed one, as well as the ideals of the blonde wanting to be in rule and some form of an isolationist society. To betray her, really would mean the death of the halfling she had, and repeated deaths to occur, as their kind came back.
"And they should know full well a battle would only come from crossing me. How they would put the blame on any deaths they deemed to be unnecessary, onto me, despite the cause for it to happen. This whole mortal level business causes there to be a rather thin line, if they were commanded to defend themselves, just like my own forces would."
Any deaths on her side would take some time to come back as well. The current Matriarchs, she had half of a mind to have them land on a planet somewhere in space. She really did want to believe that would be the best course of action starting now. But she would be left without certain areas o expertise.
As the Queen of Vampires, it was even more difficult to know a Matriarch would pass on for who knows how long. She couldn't discern time from that man's memories, but it couldn't have been an easy task to break out of Hell. That ogre had likely learned not to fall towards such temptations again.
"There's too much familiarity in names, to know how the future will play out. You've been correct that earth is too protected, so having a planet of my own might change things. Though I still see such wants as the most typical, even if it's necessary."
In truth, the recruiter not having found her earlier, was also part of the reason she was so far from being interested in this Tournament of Power. Like how Cambia expected her to play some role of a Villain, just because she took comfort in challenging who she wished, this recruiter coming to her when he had already found this woman, would likely only mean he was trickling further down the list. That she didn't even come close to being the best of this universe.
It was hard to guess her own position, knowing this one's aunt would likely be apart of the list, along with Christopher, and however powerful he was beyond the surface. Neither of these other options had really gotten so close to the powerhouses through sheer luck. Especially not with repeated encounters.
"Whatever this list turns out to look like in the end, I expect morality to hold less of an influence, if this universe truly wishes to win."
This God of Destruction being beyond Caesar, she wouldn't have doubted. Deities were meant to oversee things, but it was this kind of interaction she disliked, and would hope could cease. The path to recovery would likely rely on the dragonballs, and she would snap such an opportunity up.
"These gods should have really handled their own business. Like how this one should have duked out the one also doing poorly."
For this tournament host to decide in leaving it up to the mortals, was odd. Even the afterlife training she saw in that man's memories, had been secret from the living. But she supposed even with the knowledge, trying to spread that would sum up to either acting really evil or really good to get it.
"There's nearly always something tragic. And if not that, then someone rising up to try and change things."
The swordsman on Namek had came to mind there, knowing the girl had went on about preventing the next Caesar, as if she really had any say on who was allowed to gain power, without killing one of her own herself. But that was just the biases that one had with their own experiences.
It still annoyed her to no end however. Even now, she doubted the blonde had really done anything relevant while she had been gone from the planet. Just appearing out of nowhere because of her kinship, and it was going to have her laugh, if the predictions she gave her own Saiyan, turned out true.
"It's always a possibility if those two under you had came to this planet, they might be daring enough to head to Namek just as well. Where else could they go without being attacked? Demeaning the Kolds on Bris, by having them show hospitality, would likely start some uprising."
The woman seemed so disinterested in the thought, but she wouldn't put it above these two troublemakers, not to go doing so again. They weren't welcome onto this planet, and what was left of the universe was lacking when it came to being notable. Whatever excuse it could be, it would be annoying nonetheless.
There was no surprise that came from the hybrid being interested in a spar, if not because of their similar reach in power, then because of her genes itself. This whole secret, must have been some kind of technique. She couldn't reason anything else that would have been worthy to hold back of.
Fusion had possibly been one of the best things she had seen from that man's memories, although the normal method to learning it, would wind up having her absent among the world for quite awhile. Nothing which she was particularly interested in, knowing going back to the mortal realm would likely take longer.
"And they didn't. I doubt it would even be possible to enact any punishment on them, for not doing so either. It's laughable to even assume she might go that route."
Though she didn't think the blonde was above doing so either. It was another thing she considered, that would have fitted under some forced exile. Having to be charged a ridiculous amount of tax based on a one-sided dislike. She would leave this planet on her own terms. Even the possibility of using those trips against her, she took into consideration. It was too easy for the new queen to rely on the human population who listened to that dead kitsune's words.
"I suppose then it just sums down to their own comfort of having more power than the average, that they feel they can get away with going where they pleased. Even ignoring the attention it could receive."
As much as she had wanted to believe a planet of her own could prevent that, it was more than likely easier to force her kin to ostracize any outsiders, while having the best direct them towards where she was. To believe they could get away with their lack of refined control over their power, was ridiculous.
Anyone who wasn't a Vampire themselves, were likely a liability on any planet they were on, even for some kind of spar. But it was to be expected. There was always going to be fools who wanted to do what they wished. Only with death would they be able to learn what wrongs they've made in doing so.
The obvious joke that came from her not wanting to visit the Lookout, was just another one of those things the woman had said, which she just had to swallow. Something which would have no point in acknowledging more than what it was. Like how fathers had their own brand of jokes they've made.
"It's also an invitation for Caesar to have eyes on you. I know for certain he would take her, if it wouldn't mean bringing unnecessary other Saiyans into it."
That was what she expected, anyway. The idea of Koma going after that man, if that blonde had ever been kidnapped. Their family ties were too present for that not to have been the case, even though it would have just been his idea of courting and willingness. Someone that stubborn wouldn't easily succumb though.
"For the moment. I wouldn't doubt they would be sent back here however, out of impatience. Having them live in unfinished capsule homes or the like, and possibly even having the unqualified work on construction."
It was a decision which would be difficult working around, but she could manage, if that route was actually taken. There would be lots of micromanaging on her part however, with making sure resources weren't half-assed. Blueprints were needed for a reason, as well as people to inspect craftmanship.
"And those types do it without ending in any noticeable results, when it comes to their own goals. With the number of times I hear they've attacked a planet, there should be demons waiting beyond in just their realm."
Nothing which the woman would have probably been happy about, but it was the truth. Beyond Namek, Bris was the only other notable plan around that she had knew of. Nothing about demons or the like were anything she had heard on some other planet. But they would be of use, if she could get one of her own.
The Demon Queen not caring about the mortal level, was no different from herself not worrying about it either. Especially if she had her own planet, and some idiots wanted to spar them out of boredom. But appearances had to be kept, and people like this woman, needed to believe she at least cared enough.
"It's always a possibility she would share his ideals, if she's willing to bear his child. From the sound of what she's like, I'm not the one who'd be concerned with dying. My plans would continue to move on without me, while her own is likely to be ruined. She should know full well I'll just come back and pay back any damages, with the death of her own forces."
If a fight had erupted, and she had ended up dying, nothing would change. She had people to continue her plans, especially since they knew by now that death wasn't the end of things. That it was possible to come back and not waste a wish on the dragonballs to do it. If the Demon Queen ended up dying instead, then she would wait for the woman to come back to possibly dish out any other damages on that side. Both could easily be avoided though.
"It would be more ridiculous if they had more power than their ancestors. Not when there are others who would have a headstart."
She would likely still be around if time had really did pass that much. Putting people in their places where they should be. New generations were always going to think themselves as better despite any odds that wasn't the case. It was a natural progress when it came to society, and its new beliefs.
The misfortune that came from losing an asset, she would like to believe could be replaced with something better. But by the sound of things, this Tree of Might was the better version, while the Cursed Water was a substitute. The dragonballs came to mind, but it was less of a priority anyway, if it wasn't consequential to just destroy it. She supposed that had also been the reason earth had survived instead of blowing up from the power supposedly around.
"Their regeneration is also what keeps them from just dying as anyone normally would. Possibly even better than the Namekian's own regeneration. Though I doubt there's one out there whose smart or strong enough to be of use in this tournament."
Not that it wasn't really much of a loss. A Majin that was intelligent would be rather tricky to deal with, knowing what seemed to be an innate violence within them. Easier to have them be beneath one's own power, than to have them as an equal of sorts. Less problematic fighting against one that way too.
"Research. Using their techniques for myself. I've gained what I needed months ago, so unless they're willing to die, it's tiring to be surrounded by lesser power I have no interest in."
There weren't too many difference with the species out there, that she couldn't have reasoned what a full powered one would have looked like, or been like. Mostly hybrids that were only partially of one other race, and their resemblance to humans being uncanny, helped out with her disinterest in them.
"I suppose nothing too different from what we're doing. My referring to humans being just a canvas waiting for evolution as one of them, and the existence of other universes. He wasn't as ridiculous as the hybrids I've invited in. One of who was part Demon and Saiyan, with the audacity to view me as a child who needed her parents around, despite my power being above his. It goes to show how naive they can be, if raised on this planet without knowing of their culture."
She still hated that man for that. He was nothing but an embarrassment to both halves of what he was, being more of an earthling than anything else. It would do good wherever he was now, that he stayed there. She would kill him if he was really foolish enough intervene, and if it could be helped.
Again, the woman had brought up this organization, though she still couldn't personally tell for sure herself, if things would really turn out differently. They could easily be on opposing sides, given the kind of opportunities and goals of who they worked with, wishing to do more when things were better.
"It's an interesting idea for sure, though there are still things to consider that can't be at the moment. My own standards of collaborating with others, I know for certain if these two beneath you are ever involved, there's likely to be death, if they really run their mouths the way I've had people done with me in the past."
Another reason she was hesitant in giving an exact answer to this whole deal.

That's how it always was. People always needed a scapegoat when things went horribly wrong. Even if it was from a situation that they themselves created. They certainly should know better than to attack someone much stronger than them, but...
"They might know that, but people fight those stronger than them despite how suicidal it is. And of course they'll blame the person they challenge instead of their own idiocy. The mortal level makes it even more challenging to deal with though, since each side has to be careful with how they handle things."
This Vampire was unfortunately right about one thing. Considering all the major players, it was nearly impossible to tell where things were going. There were just too many variables to account for. While she could make some educated guesses as to the broader picture, the smaller details were beyond her. She would just have to learn as much as she could and deal with things as they came along. For the time being anyway.
The Vampire then brought up the possibility of obtaining a planet of their own. Which did seem like a good idea if it was out of the way. It wouldn't have the advantages that Earth did, but the Vampire would get less resistance if they went for somewhere more out of the way.
"You could do what you suggested for me earlier and take over Bris. Which would also give you access to the world's under the control of the Arcosian Empire. You could just waltz in and take it. The only person willing to defend it will be at the tournament of power. So it would be a good opportunity to do that."
The list of people participating in the tournament mostly had people who she despised on it. Still, she would put up with them for the sake of the universe. Or rather, specific people who existed in this universe.
"All that matters is how strong and competent our fighters are. As long as we don't get a group that will tear itself apart. I hope there will be a few other people there that will help mediate things. Or at the very least won't add more fuel to the fire."
Ah, the divine beings. Tomina didn't exactly have the best impression of them. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that they had actively fought against the Saiyan Galactic Kingdom on multiple occasions. Then there was the God of Destruction, who was frighteningly powerful. Her existence did highlight one of the major problems with the divine entities.
"This God of Destruction could have nipped things in the bud before they got to this point. Unless if there's a reason that prevented him from doing so. Some individuals have contributed more to our current predicament than others. The Gods of Creation don't fare well whenever they try to do something with a hands on approach. Honestly it seems like they're incompetent at their jobs. I bet the more well off universes have more efficient deities."
It was always the same old song and dance, wasn't it? People suffered tragedies in their life, which drove them forward and influenced their future actions. It was tale that was unlikely to end anytime soon.
"That is the kind of universe we live in. Misery and suffering are prevalent throughout it. Those drive people to commit many horrible acts of their own. With a universe like this, it's no wonder that a bunch of people rise up and try to change the status quo frequently."
Tomina let out a sigh as the Vampire continued talking about her subordinates. Honesty, they had shown zero sense. With Rensu it was like he was completely oblivious to the fact that the Kingdom had many enemies on different planets, and that most places didn't take too kindly to Saiyans in general. Carva... she just assumed that he just had to be told everything directly. She had given him more credit then he deserved.
"The sad part is that you're probably right. Although even Bris wouldn't have been safe. Nasu attacked them just prior to me joining the Kingdom. So they wouldn't have been keen on Saiyans showing up out of the blue. It's why we weren't supposed to leave without authorization. We have a lot of enemies."
Tomina didn't care for this blonde queen in any capacity. Although it did make her a little irate that the defenders of Earth didn't come to her aid, but came en masse to deal with the big bad Saiyans. Their big guns even ignored Caesar in favor of dealing with Nasu.
"Well of course she won't be able to punish them for it. Even if there did exist a law against doing nothing when you could have done something, the fact is that they're too strong for her to enforce the law. When you become strong enough, most of the rules of society don't apply to you."
The only exception being a superior who was stronger than you. Power was everything in this universe. The stronger you were, the easier it was to impose your laws and beliefs. People were fools to think otherwise.
"It's why the Galactic Patrol is such a universal punchline. They’re supposed to enforce galactic laws, but they're all weak as shit. So they can't arrest anyone stronger than them. Which is pretty much everyone considering that most worlds are a part of some type of alignment."
If someone was vastly stronger than their peers, then it would only be natural to think that they were powerful. Being stronger than everyone on Earth was a very low bar to climb though. Which was what that blonde had experienced for herself when she had to fight those demons.
"If they had a powerful fighting force backing them or abilities to justify their confidence then it would be all well and good. Thinking that they're entitled to be the ruler of a planet and expecting everyone to fall in line is hilariously naive."
In hindsight it was probably for the best that Caesar had entirely ignored her when she first encountered him. It had angered her, but she didn't want to attract his attention in that way. One day she would be strong enough to deal with him on her own if she had to. Until then, she would train and bide her time until that day.
"Caesar isn't as deterred from things as everyone else can be. Threat of significant retaliation would only keep him at bay for a time. He was bold enough to attack South City on his own. He had no idea that Nasu was coming, so he was confident enough to fight Flare and Chris in addition to the other heros on Earth. You can't take anything for granted with Caesar."
The image of humans trudging back to their homeworld with dejected faces as they got into temporary housing made her chuckle. For once those humans knew what it was like for their home to be destroyed, and it was glorious. They were having a taste of the pain that her race had gone through time and time again.
"Well it would be a rather gutsy move on their part if they did come back now. I can't even begin to guess as to how much it will cost to rebuild everything. Earth doesn't interact with other worlds too much, so that's all going to have to come from their own resources."
It did really seem to be a endless cycle. No matter who invaded what planet, no one was able to gain significant ground on another faction. Hopefully that would soon change.
"In this day and age, you can't accomplish your goals by simply conquering other planets and killing your foes. Even taking out that the Demons have the advantage of having their own dimension, the fact that the afterlife is so easy to escape from means that the defeated will inevitably retaliate. No, things will have to be approached a bit differently."
Nakiya sharing Caesar’s views on the mortal level would be a huge problem. That would give the Saiyans yet another excuse to retaliate against her. Yet if they did, they could possibly condemn their entire universe to oblivion. Tomina wanted to strangle whoever came up with this mortal level system.
"Caesar and Nakiya are on very good terms with one another, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to assume they share some beliefs. She is strong enough to participate in the tournament, so whether or not she's picked as one of the members will be very telling."
Tomina looked over at the Vampire with interest. So she did have ambitions after all. She didn’t think that the Vampire was just going to tell her what she wanted outright. She was going to have to gather what she could from their conversation. There were already a few motivations that could potentially be the Vampire's objective. Although at best all she could do was make educated guesses at the moment.
"Then I take it you know what she is planning then. Even if you didn’t you can still do more damage to her then she can to you. If you found a way into Makai, you could destroy it in retaliation should she ever cross you. Without their own dimension, demons would be forced to live among the other races. They have much more to lose then you do."
Tomina had to concord: it would indeed be ridiculous if newer generations somehow managed to surpass the current generation. This generation had produced the strongest fighters that had ever existed. She couldn't imagine any time period where this many strong beings existed in the past, and she couldn't even fathom a time in the future with fighters surpassing this generation. But... what if it did happen?
"Heh, we sure both hope that it's impossible. Yet my mother and Natto were by far the strongest warriors of their time. Yet multiple people from this generation have surpassed them. If we become complacent, the new generations could pass us by. I don't intend on making the same mistake that my mother made though: I will always keep pushing myself to become stronger and stronger."
Okay, so these Majin could get even stranger. They had regeneration too? Seriously, how had she never heard of these things before?
"If none intelligent or strong exist, then their entire race is wasting their talents. They have some useful abilities at their disposal, if they can really do all of that."
Ah, now that explained why she hadn’t heard that much of the Vampire despite her strength. It seemed as though they were more like a scientist then a fighter. This made Tomina view things from a different angle. Suddenly things that didn’t make sense before were a little more clear now.
“So that’s why you’ve taken in all kinds of different races, and why you’ve conducted spars, despite not being as fond of fighting as my race. You wanted to see what various races could do. I’ve never encountered a Majin before, but since I had to conquer planets when I was younger, I’ve fought all kinds of races in battles. You had to go and drag them to your mansion. I’m sure you can find some kind of use for them now that you no longer need to gather information on them. No matter how strong someone becomes, they need arms and legs to carry out their will. Make them into the limbs that will grasp your ambitions.”
So the Anubian didn’t appear to be that remarkable, at least in terms of noteworthy personality traits. Well at least that would mean that he wouldn’t butt heads with other people if he really was chosen to be one of the team. Tomina cracked another grin when she brought up the Saiyan-Demon hybrid. Oh boy, something new to poke fun at!
“I suppose we’ll just have to see how far the human race can push themselves. So this guy treated you like a lost kid huh? Well if you never exited your first form on him, I don’t honestly blame him. He probably thought you were some spoiled brat that was born strong. I mean you have your own mansion and servants, so he must have assumed you had no actual fighting experience. That you were just a helpless little girl with a silver spoon up her ass. He actually called you a little kid. Despite sensing that you were stronger than him. That idiot had no sense of self preservation at all, ha!”
Well, it looked like she was starting to get this person sold on the idea of their organization. Still, she wasn’t there completely yet. While Tomina wanted the Vampire to think about it a bit, she was going to do all she could to make the idea appealing to her.
“Well, they don’t have to know your identity. If main members want to keep their identities hidden from others subordinates, that is perfectly within their right. That way people won’t blab to others about their identities if they’re interrogated. Or just have a really big mouth. I plan on inviting the core members with specific criteria. I’m certain that they’ll meet your criteria for comfortable collaboration.”
Tomina stretched her arms above her head, one hand grabbing one of her wrists and rubbing it. They sure had been here for a long time. It had been a very interesting conversation, but she wanted to see where things stood right now.
“So, are you going to invite me in at some point? I don’t really want to stay out here all day. Even though I am going to have to wait for a while to have my training partner show up. I did say that I would keep myself sober until the end of the tournament, but a small drink would be nice. Otherwise I do want to get a little more practice in before my training partner arrives. I would like to have a spar with you, but you don’t seem to enthusiastic about the idea now that you’ve gathered the information you need. Still… I would like to do a bit of research of my own. I’ve never seen what a Vampire can do before.”
Tomina had mentioned earlier that she wouldn’t insist on a spar until she was able to show the Vampire something that she wanted to test out. Plus she wouldn’t be able to go fully all out due to a particular strategy she was saving for the tournament. Yet fighting the Vampire was still an exciting prospect. Plus it certainly would beat utterly obliterating inanimate objects while practicing stance and movement techniques. She turned her head so that she was staring at the Vampire with one eye. Hopefully this wouldn’t be the end of their time together just yet.
