Mar walked through the fields and hills of the Sacred World of the Kais, his arms resting behind his neck as he made his leisurely stroll towards the last place he knew his Northern counterpart to have made his residence. In spite of the Kai beneath him, that speed freak East Kai woman, the Supreme East Kai didn't mind taking his time to get from place to place. Plus he knew that if he just rushed on up to Northern Kaioshin, the poor man'd probably have a heart attack from the shock of it all. Although he couldn't blame him, given how much trouble the Northern Quadrant of the universe could be. Sometimes Mar wondered why North had picked that region given how much trouble it got into.
Such questions though were bound for another time though, or probably in the course of events today. He began to walk up the final hill that would lead him to Northern Kaioshin's residence, last he knew where it was anyway, and began to call out. "Hey! @northernkai ! You about North?" Mar called out, pushing out with his Ki sense to try and pick him up. "Don't tell me you finally had a heart attack and copped it from some North Galaxy antics eh?" he asked with a chuckle.
On the far northern region of the Sacred World of the Kais, the Northern Kaioshin was meditating. He was just under a tree, near a beautiful and small waterfall, a real image of peace and illumination, as someone would expect of the Gods of Creation, the Lords of Lords, the beings known as the ultimate tier of the ultimate beings, the Shinjin that truly belonged to the blesses golden fruit of the mighty Kaiju tree. But then there were the likes of the Eastern Kaioshin, who would just break that mold. The North Supreme Kai was resting and getting his mind free of thought and concerns when someone invaded the privacy of his thought, completely screwing up his meditation. The sole sound of that voice was enough to make him frown his brows, while still with his eyes closed. ”Him…” the Kai thought to himself, with bitterness in his tone. The Eastern Kaioshin asked if he was, well, North, and that made a vein pop out in his right temple.
”Well, of course I am. That’s where I am supposed to be, the place I belong since my fateful birth, the place that represents the quadrant of this universe I’m responsible for and… What?!” before he could continue his mind communication with his fellow Kaioshin, he asked if he had a heart attack due to the heavy loads of problems he had with handling the North Galaxy of the seventh universe. ”That’s absurd, Eastern Kaioshin! Do you forget we are gods?! We are not afflicted by illness! It’s more than clear I wouldn’t have a heart attack! The only ways to kill us is either by murder or time. And I’m only about four million years old! Far too young to be dying!” and Northern Kaioshin had a huge flaw: he took everything way too seriously. He couldn’t understand a joke, and he wouldn’t even try to. That was one of the main issues he had with King Kai, the Kaio of the Northern Galaxy, with whom he was supposed to be working together far more often than he would.
Eastern Kaioshin sighed as he rolled his eyes when North went into his spiel about where he belonged. "I meant North as in your title. Bit of a mouthful saying Northern Kaioshin all the time, don't you agree?" Mar inquired of his counterpart. And then of course he didn't get the joke. You'd think someone who worked with King Kai would have developed a sense of humour by now... but apparently not. Mar rolled his eyes before taking a seat next to the Northern Kaioshin, and looked up towards the skies.
"You really got to learn to relax North. And I don't mean more meditation." he said before his northern counterpart could suggest that it was his way of relaxing. Always with the meditating. "Anyway, I just came by to check up on things. East Galaxy's been quiet of late, South Galaxy's still pretty much recovering, no news from West Galaxy, but boy oh boy." he said, looking over at Northern Kaioshin. "Your corner of the universe seems to be rumbling around a fair bit. Anything the rest of us should be on the lookout for?" asked Mar of his counterpart.
He returned his gaze to the stars and moons above, drinking in the sights of it all. Even after all these millennium, he still never got tired of looking up at the shimmering lights in the skies above the Sacred World of the Kais, knowing that each light up there held at least a dozen or so worlds in their thrall. And each world, more or less, had its own burgeoning civilisations and lives growing on them, each one stretching out across the cosmos in the seventh universe.
It was truly insane to consider that those twinkling lights still held life around them, even after all the universe had been through. He was even more glad that the God of Destruction was still having his nap... last thing the Kai's needed right now was him floating around the place. South Galaxy was still recovering from that insane Saiyans rampage those centuries ago, and the North... well that seemed to be an eternal hotspot for trouble.
And he was finally there, the annoying Eastern Kaioshin. Of course the Northern Kaioshin didn’t hate him. They were siblings, after all and he respected anyone who was destined to fill in the position of a Supreme Kai, but, still, he found Eastern Kai absurdly annoying and restless, almost like he was some sort of saiyan or earthling. Northern Kaioshin finally opened his almond-shaped black eyes slowly and got back on his feet, with his short height of just 4’7”. He stared at his fellow Kaioshin right in his bluish eyes. – It’s our titled and how we should call each other. You see, you come here and call me North. I could not answer thinking you are referring to the Northern Kaio. – he explained his point, again. The Supreme Kai of the North couldn’t even remember how many times they spoke about it and then, when he was about to relax a bit, he was told to relax, and he hated when people told him to relax! ”Relax?! If they had any idea how much this galaxy gets me out of my mind they would know better! East Galaxy, piece of cake!” he thought to himself in mildly annoyance.
The Northern Kaioshin snorted when he asked if there was anything for them to be concerned of and he rested his hands on his waist. – Well… Dragon Balls returning, saiyans becoming super saiyan again, another one of those legendries saiyans who destroyed South Galaxy… At least the last one was killed by a potential new tyrant on Planet Vegeta. So, yes! Hands full, but seems like the Z-Fighters are back, so that’s a small point of relief, but, still! This Galaxy is trouble! But that’s my Galaxy and I do not need your help, Eastern! Go take care of East Galaxy! I’m sure that should be thrilling! – he said, making a “shush” gesture with his hands, as if he was telling the Eastern Kaioshin to go away.
"Nah, when I'm referring to your Kaio, I just say King Kai." said Mar with a shrug as if that solved the problem. He did enjoy these little tit for tats he had with Northern Kaioshin, if anything it gave his brother the chance to vent off some stress from looking over the Northern Galaxy. If the poor guy couldn't get some venting done, Mar worried about what he'd turn into.
When he got the summarised report about what was going on in the North Galaxy, the Eastern Kaioshin grimaced as he looked up at the distant stars. "Another legendary Saiyan... well, let's hope this one actually stays dead unlike the last one who kept popping back up every time they thought it was dead." he mused, shuddering at the thought of another one of those monsters roaming the galaxy again. Of course the fact that the Dragon Balls were back in action as well had him concerned, especially with this combined fact about the recently killed Saiyan.
"Well, guess that explains the rumblings I felt... Saiyans seem to have a habit for being the bane of our existences." he mused, rubbing his chin in thought before he shrugged. "Nothing much going on in the East Galaxy I'm afraid to say. Been keeping an eye on some Majin's that recently arrived there a century ago, but so far nothing like what happened back then with the original." Mar surmised with a shrug before he made his age-old suggestion to his counterpart. "We could swap galaxies for a century or two? You could probably use the vacation from all that Saiyan Stress." offered Mar, a slight smirk on his face as he knew precisely how North was going to react.
Northern Kaioshin just ignored Eastern’s explanation regarding the way he called the North Kaio and then jumped back to a more important topic: the appearance of a new legendary super saiyan, hoping that one stayed dead unlike some others who managed to find a way back to life over and over again. When he said that, Northern Kai just face-palmed and sighed deeply. – It’s because of those dragon balls! They screw the whole logic behind dying… It’s a mess! A complete mess! – he said in a complaining tone, nodding in agreement when Eastern said the saiyans were the bane of their existence.
Then he started at that again and Northern stared at him with suspicion on his looks. ”No… He won’t start that nonsense again…” but he did… He brought that swapping nonsense again, and made Northern grab his pinkish hair in annoyance. – For existence sake!! Stop asking that! We can’t do that!!! Are you insane, Eastern Kaioshin?! We are BORN BOUNDED to our position! It’s destiny, the whole flow of creation itself that destine us to our position! We are born like we are and that’s our duty!!! Cut this nonsense already! You always keep on bringing this up! I don’t like being the guardian of this quadrant, but that’s my fate! I wish I was born the Eastern Kaishion, maybe even the Southern, but that’s not what happened!! We must accept out fate! – he said, sighing deeply again, with a vein pulsating in his temple.
Mar chuckled at the age old reaction that Northern Kaioshin had to the age old suggestion of them swapping jobs for a while. "Eh, fates a quirky thing sometimes though, got to admit." he said with a shrug as he looked up to the stars. "You think something's predestined to occur, and then something crops up that screws the system over completely. Just look at my predecessor for example and the events surrounding the original Majin Buu that happened on this world." the Eastern Kaioshin said before he looked over at Northern Kaioshin properly.
"I only make the offer every now and then because I can see how much stress its putting on you. I'd rather not see you get all twisted up cus of the North Galaxy and turn into a Makaioshin you know?" he said in all seriousness as he shifted his gaze back to the stars. He remained silent for a bit before sighing. "Even without the dragon balls, the dead have an unfortunate habit of finding ways to get out to the Living World. Like that little blue haired bastard Yemma's been yelling about recently..." said Eastern Kaioshin. "And now that Hell's got two of those legendary class monsters down there..." Mar sighed as he ran a hand through his hair.
Northern Kaioshin just glared to his Eastern counterpart as he spoke about destiny, showing he had little regard towards fate, since it had the possibility of changing randomly sometimes, even quoting his ancestor, the sole survivor of their clash with Majin Buu. Then he said that the only reason he offered that was because Northern Supreme Kai was usually stressed out with his duties and that he didn’t want him to end up turning into a Makaioshin, which made him arch both of his eyebrows and widen his eyes in a brief second of surprise, before grimacing in an angered feature. – Me?! A Makaioshin?! Are you out of your mind, Eastern Kaioshin?! I won’t be turning into that! That’s just absurd! – he said in a quite offended tone.
Then, when his sibling mentioned how people kept on escaping the afterlife, he sighed in annoyance, massaging both his temples with his fingers as he closed his eyes. – Yes, I’m well aware of that! I don’t know how they keep on finding such breaches, but those screws up the natural flow of life! I wish there was something we could do about it! But there are things that are far beyond our capabilities, even as the gods of creation… - he sighed in annoyance.
Mar sighed and shook his head. He knew that North would get offended by the idea, whenever it came to stuff like this he usually was easily offended. Of course whenever it came to anything that deviated from the norm, or suggested anything could occur that wasn't predestined Northern Kaioshin tended to get defensive. He gave a slight shrug. "Just as absurd as anything else in this universe to be honest..."
With Northern Kaioshin's words, Mar got an idea. A terrible idea. A brilliant idea. A brilliantly terrible idea that was also terribly brilliant. "It may be beyond our capabilities... but, hear me out, what if we... borrowed those Dragon Balls the mortals are so fond of huh?" the Eastern Kaioshin suggested to his counterpart. "Hear me out before you go crazy about it. The Dragon Balls hold immense power... and whilst they may not have the power needed to completely seal up all of the breaches in the Otherworld, they could go some way to reinforcing the barrier maybe?" the Eastern Kaioshin suggested as a possible solution.
"And besides... after they're used, it takes an entire year of the Dragon Balls world before they can be found and used again." Mar said, trying to lay on some incentive for Northern Kaioshin, since one of his largest headaches with the North Galaxy was in fact the Dragon Balls. Silently though he sort of hoped that the mortals never found out about the Super Dragon Balls... now that would prove to be a lot of trouble, even if all the Supreme Kais worked together to best whoever was gathering those ones up.
The Supreme Kai of the Northern quadrant of the galaxy was just about to start relaxing after getting so ultimately annoyed by his Eastern sibling, when he suggesting something so absurd, that the Northern Kaioshin choked on his own saliva, coughing violently for a few seconds, with eyes wide open. – Cough! Cough!!! – he coughed, doing his best to recover his breathe. Then, Northern Kai glared at Eastern with pure rage in his eyes, while the yellow-haired shinjin asked him to hear him speak before freaking out. Wel… It was already too late, because the pink-haired shinjin was already freaking out completely.
– For creation itself… Are you OUT OF YOUR MIND?! – he yelled at Eastern Kaioshin. Clenching both his fists and frowning his eyebrows a lot. He was also gritting his teeth as he felt shivers running down his spine and filling his heart with anger. How could he be so simple minded and spit on the laws of the universe like that? – We shouldn’t be using the dragon balls! No one should be using them! You should know better, Eastern Kaioshin! We are supposed to be examples! We have so many other ways to protect the afterlife veil with the power he already have at our disposal! Why would you resort to such measures?! Why would you even consider screwing up the balance of the universe just to make our lives easier?! – Northern Kaioshin was really annoyed and angered by Eastern’s suggestion, and he didn’t even bother hiding it. – The dragon balls were created by another god, we have to deal with that. But, come on! Don’t ever talk about it anymore! And if you insist, then, by the authority I was bestowed upon my birth I FORBID you to even land a single toe in my quadrant! – he said in a rather harsh and bossy tone.
"Hey, it was just a suggestion. No need to get your ears in a twist." said the Eastern Kaioshin, waving a hand at his Northern counterpart before lying back against the grass to get a better view of the stars above them. "I just figured that since they're such a pain in your ass to worry about which mortals would be getting them for what purpose, that maybe we could beat them to the punch and put the things out of commission for a while is all." Mar defended himself before he chuckled a little.
"Sorry, but a thought just occured to me. You're getting this stressed out from just the regular ones on Namek and Earth..." said the Supreme East Kai with a chuckle as he looked over to his brother. "I just wonder, how would you react if they ever figured out that the original ones existed, those planet sized Super Dragon Balls." he mused aloud with a chuckle. "Just glad they won't ever be able to get the complete set of those at least, since they're split between here and the sixth universe." said Mar before he frowned slightly as he thought about something.
He peered up into the distant sky for a moment, his eyes flitting across the grand cosmos before he gave a sigh of relief. "Good, all still there..." he said before shaking his head. "For a moment there I thought I'd jinxed us and the Sixth Universe's God of Destruction was sneaking around here again trying to get those Balls." the Eastern Kaioshin explained before he rubbed his chin in thought. "Hey, you know how much longer we're supposed to have before ours wakes up again?" Mar inquired of his sibling. He looked back up at the stars, the frown still on his features.
"Shin, has anything been feeling... off lately to you? Or a pit in your stomach?" he asked of his brother, his tone turned serious as he questioned him. "I can't shake this feeling that something's coming." the Eastern Kaioshin tried to explain before sighing and rubbing his forehead. "I may not be the biggest fan of fate or destiny, but I don't think coincidence is a thing either. A Legendary Super Saiyan emerges, along with new Super Saiyans, one of which is now Earth's Guardian... the Dragon Balls have made a return, Planet Vegeta's acting up... all within the same year let alone decade or even century?" said Mar to his brother.
"Something's going on... and I hate to break this to you brother, but whatever goes on in the North Galaxy tends to have an effect on the rest of the Universe, so even though the forbidding thing's a new one for you, don't expect me to obey it if something crops up that needs attention." said the Supreme East Kai. "That was a mistake our predecessors made... thinking they could take on their foe without the aid of the others, just because it was in their corner of the galaxy and not theirs." said Mar, sounding quite adamant on this point. "I won't let history repeat itself just because of our assigned roles in the plan of creation."
Eastern just received an angered glare from Northern Kaioshin as he tried to defend himself in the dragon ball matter. Then he mentioned about the possibility of people discovering about the Super Dragon Balls and that made him sigh deeply, almost if the thought itself was enough to make him absolutely tired. – Don’t even start talking about it. I prefer to fool myself by thinking they don’t actually exist, although I know they exist. Anyway, you get what I mean. – he said, scratching the side of his head. Then he spoke about some scenario which Northern Supreme Kai chose to ignore, and then changed the topic again, wondering how much time it would take for the God of Destruction of the seventh universe to wake up again.
– Forever, I hope. – he said in a rather bitter tone. Gods of Destructions were almost like a chaotic rogue force, that didn’t have any sense of proportion. It was absolutely troublesome to create planet and life, and the Kaioshin had to dedicate plenty of their time, power and attention in order to create a single planet, while the God of Destruction could erase it almost effortlessly in a single second.
Then, for once, Eastern became serious, asking if he had been having a bad feeling. The Northern Kaioshin arched one of his eyebrows and allowed him to continue speaking. Once he finished, Kai sighed deeply again, closing his eyes, feeling rather preoccupied with the universe itself. – You would be a fool not to trust fate and think everything is up to chance. It is not, Eastern. – he commented, before his sibling continued. When he said that whatever happened in North Galaxy would affect the whole universe, the North Supreme Kai opened his eyes, staring at his brother with a serious look on his face and, when he finally said what North thought he would say, he frowned his brows and gritted his teeth.
– I won’t allow you or any of our siblings to stick their nose in my responsibility! Northern Galaxy is mine to take care! It’s my burden to carry! What happened to our ancestors were but a mischance. A fatefulness event that won’t likely happen again. If it does, then we will unite our forcers and protect creation and the universe! – he said in an irreducible tone. – Until then, if you put a single toe within my quadrant, we will have a serious problem! I will fight you or anyone else! I will handle it! That’s my burden and mine alone! – he finished.
"I don't think everything's up to chance... but then again I don't believe everything's predestined either. I like to think there's always some kind of wiggle room between the now and the destination. Otherwise if everything was already planned out, there wouldn't be any kind of... joy to it all." said Mar, trying to explain himself to Northern Kaioshin for what felt like the umpteenth time. He often wondered where Northern Kaioshin's obsession with destiny and fate had come from... Just looking at the North Galaxy's history alone would seem to almost contradict that ideal. Or perhaps that was the very reason for it... trying to make sense of the sheer chaos that was the past of that region.
Of course Northern Kaioshin went into his usual spiel about how the Northern Galaxy was his and his alone to handle, and then he said the magic words. The Supreme East Kai grinned slightly before he stood up. "Then let's go for it. You and me, one on one. You win, I promise I won't step a single toe into your quadrant of the galaxy without your permission, or if a threat arises that requires direct intervention like say... a Makaioshin bursting up from Makai or Hell and trying to take over a world." Mar said as an example. "Let's be honest here, I don't think any of us wants to take on one of those by ourselves." said the Eastern Kaioshin.
"If I win however, you have to agree that there will be times that you do need help with your region of the universe. Cus let's face it... if you can't beat one of us, then how are you going to be able to handle some insane Saiyan warlord or a Majin menace, or some demonic incursion by yourself?" asked Mar of his sibling as he began to make his way down the hill towards an empty field of space. With a brief snap of his fingers as well as a wave of his hand, a tournament regulation field emerged from the ground made of clear crisp white marble.
"Besides... there is a precedent set for a Kai to interfere in a region not his own. Admittedly those were under different circumstances." Mar said with a shrug as he got up onto the arena floor. He looked over towards the Supreme North Kai and smirked. "Well? Usual tournament rules sound good?" he asked as he waited for Shin's response.
The more they talked the more evident it became that they were too different. Eastern Kaioshin spoke a bit more, explaining how he didn’t think everything was up to chance, and the Northern Kaioshin just massaged his temples a little bit more. ”For creation sake…” he thought to himself, then, to his surprise, Eastern Kai reaction to his words were… Well… He was asking for a fight. Northern Kaioshin stared at his brother in disbelief as Eastern mused about the outcome of their battle. If Northern won, he would only do what was expected of him and not stick his large nose in the northern galaxy, making an addendum towards the obvious exceptions. Then, if he won, he would be allowed to stick up his nose in northern galaxy whenever he deemed necessary, which was a quite omnibus concept.
– Do you think this is a game? Really? And, on top of that, do you take me for a fool? Even if I was to cope with your nonsense fight, should I win you would do nothing but what you are already supposed to be doing?! While, in case you win, I should abide by your whims and allow you into my quadrant whenever the heck you please?! – he said in a highly annoyed tone, while gritting his teeth. – Let me tell you one thing, kid! – he paused, making sure to point out who was the eldest of the duo. – I don’t take it as a game! But I will fight you! And if I win, not only will you stop sticking your nose into my quadrant, but you also enforce it towards the others, meaning you will be the first one to stop our siblings to sticking their nose here. That’s the only condition I accept! – he stated as he walked towards the area, following Eastern Kaioshin.
"Oh please, when has Rumia ever done anything any of us have told her to do eh?" he asked of the Northern Kaioshin as he made his way towards the arena, Mar cracking his neck as he made ready. "Besides, if destiny is the only thing to exist in creation, then this fight's already predetermined in its outcome, so this is just exercise really as far as you're concerned. Plus, you're only a decade or two older than me anyway." the Eastern Kaioshin remarked, a smirk on his face. When your ages spanned into the millions, it seemed a bit childish to hold onto the decade or so difference between them... which meant he was inside Northern Kaioshin's head, which meant that he'd be off his game somewhat.
Whilst their powers were within the same brackets as one another, Mar held a slight lead on him. Just barely, but it was there. And in this kind of match up, a slight lead was all it would take sometimes. Once both of the Kaioshin were inside the arena, the Eastern would give a slight bow towards the Northern, awaiting the gesture to be returned as well before he took up his stance. "Ready?" he called over to Shin, grinning as he began to make his move the second Northern Kaioshin confirmed he was ready.
He thrust his palm hard towards his slightly older brother, sending out a rush of wind towards him as he yelled out a single word before immediately rushing towards him to try and land a solid one two combination punch to North Kaioshin's face which would be followed up by a roundhouse kick aiming towards his chest.
