Kohlrabi bolted out of the guest house as soon as the clock would strike twelve, indicating it was noon. Ever since she had gotten up in the early hours of the morning, she had restlessly wandered around her room and organized everything that could possibly be organized. There was no reason for it, but she had literally nothing to do as she waited and so she acted on impulse. If anyone had happened to wander in on her doing all that, it would've looked just a tad bit creepy. At least it would look much nicer compared to how it had before, what with Kohl staying in it for two days.. She wasn't exactly the tidiest person, honestly. The room she was sleeping in was just an utter and complete mess until she spent nearly six to seven hours cleaning the entire thing.
As she burst into the dojo, she looked around expecting Komatsu to be there early. He would need to prepare today's exercises, no? Evidently not, as he was nowhere to be seen. Kohl would shrug it off as just tardiness because something came up. She knew that, considering who Komatsu was related to, he could be really really busy at times. The demi-saiyan would sit cross-legged in the middle of the dojo and decided it would be best if she just wait. But after around twenty minutes, she was starting to get a little impatient. Not to say she was mad or anything, but she was beginning to wonder if something had gone wrong. After all, she hadn't seen Komatsu on either of her days of rest.
It was weird, but she did want to see Komatsu more often. She wanted to be a friend to Komatsu, too. As he had helped her become a lot stronger than she was before. It probably wasn't that much of an increase in the eyes of some people, but to Kohl it was a really impressive step up from what she had been four days ago. Kohl needed to talk to him, too- as much as she didn't want to tell him she had trained alone, something happened in one of those sessions that she found incredibly odd. She had experienced a power she didn't think she ever could and she found that to be quite concerning, because now she couldn't unlock that power. It had only lasted a brief moment and in that brief moment she wasn't able to think clearly.
Kohlrabi would leave the dojo and approach the front doors of the main house. She raised her hand and got ready to knock, hoping to the Kami that is Atsuko that it wasn't Miso who would answer the door for her. 'Well, here goes nothing.. except potentially my innocence.' The saiyaness would think to herself as she knocked on the door around three times before lowering her hand and stepping away from the door.

Komatsu was finally sleeping soundly, in his own room. He had spent the last two days in hospital suffering from Ki poisoning, and attempting to learn how to control and suppress his ki in order to keep that at bay. As Karota so gently put it, he had to learn this technique or die from the affliction. It was none too easy, as every moment spent learning it, felt like a thousand knives being plunged into his chest. He was finally able to sleep, as he hadn't been able to do so with all of the excitement...
PL 43,484
And so the person who answered the door definitely wasn't the young saiyan. In fact, as the door swung open, it was a woman who would stand looking down towards the young hybrid. No doubt her gaze would be intimidating, as the first thing Kyuri always did was scrutinize every single detail of a person she was looking at, her cybernetic eye working in secret to gather data as fast as it could. Intel and technology was her job, and she took great pride in it. Whenever it was clear who was in front of her, Kyuri smiled as she stepped out, closing the door behind her to let the house fall into silence once more.
"I'm assuming you must be Private Kohlrabi? There aren't many saiyans on the planet with short, blue hair~" The woman would say warmly to the girl as she extended her hand in greeting.
"I am Colonel Kyuri, I'm Komatsu's grandmother. I was just about to head out to the dojo looking for you. I'm sorry if I've kept you waiting long, it's been a rather hectic couple of days." She would explain, waiting to hear from Kohlrabi before she would even suggest heading back to the Dojo.

Kohlrabi would look up at the clearly taller saiyan woman with a confused sort of look. Komatsu hadn't talked about any female family members, so she was a bit taken aback. The fact she knew who she was without Kohl even introducing herself first was unsettling.. She felt kind of like an open book, not a very comfortable feeling at all."Ah.. Yeah." Kohlrabi nodded and gave Kyuri a handshake as she extended her hand. "I get it from my mother. She was a human." Kohl would add on, responding to the blue hair thing.
Not only had Komatsu been gone for two days, but now Kohl had learned those two days had been hectic as well. "What happened? Where's Komatsu?!" The Demi-Saiyan would ask in almost a demanding sort of manner. Her training could wait if there was something wrong with Komatsu. "Is he hurt? Tell me!" She'd add on in an angry sort of tone, but her face would be the thing that betrayed her as she looked extremely concerned and almost sad in a way. 'Dammit.. I look away and Komatsu gets hurt! Why does this always happen?!' The hybrid thought to herself, mentally kicking herself in the rear for not keeping a closer eye on Komatsu and checking up on him, regardless of whether or not it would seem clingy or intrusive.
She wasn't going to just have the subject brushed off, either. If she had to she would force her way through to check on Komatsu. Even if that meant a fight that was very clearly stacked strongly against her. 'She's way out of my league but I'll beat the hell outta her if she tries to stop me.. Grandma or not!' Kohl clenched her teeth and started to shake just a tiny bit from a strong mixture of emotions. 'I won't let a repeat of my parents happen.. Never again. He's not allowed to be hurt under my watch.'

"Really? I wouldn't have guessed that it was a human trait." She would note but before she could continue, the young girl would panic and immediately assume the worst had happened. She seemed terrified and aggressive all at once, and Kyuri couldn't help but laugh as she put her arms up in a sort of defensive manner.
"First of all, young lady, that's no way to speak to both a superior, and your elder!" She would scold her, though her voice was still kind as she did so. She was glad to see that Komatsu had made himself a friend that really seemed to care for him. It was about time too, as far as she knew, the kid never had a real friend.
"Secondly, he's asleep. I'm not at liberty to talk about what happened, he can tell you himself when he wakes up, but for now I ask you to please let him rest. He needs every minute of it. Besides, he asked me to stand in for him today, and while tihs isn't normally the kind of thing I do, I think I can help out his little girlfriend for one day." She would say, now poking some fun at the girl. Kyuri would fully plan on stopping her from getting into the house if she tried to. It would be dangerous for her to rush in there. For starters, she wasn't aware if anyone else knew about the girl and could easily treat her as an intruder... which wouldn't end well for the girl.
"I can guarantee you that he's doing fine, Kohlrabi. We can check up on him after your training. He'll be rather upset if you miss out because I let you worry about him." She would assure her once more, waiting for Kohl to turn her attention away from the house, so she could guide her back to the dojo.

Kohl clenched her fists tightly as she was denied access. Being told that Komatsu was perfectly fine and just sleeping seemed to calm her down, but her pride caused her to stay in that of a near hostile stance. But though she was prideful, she wasn't dumb. And she certainly wasn't about to willingly get her ass handed to her if there was no real need to like Kyuri was basically suggesting. "I'll talk however I want.." She muttered defiantly as a misbehaving child would. It was a sort of promise to herself that she'd never be a bootlicker- and she wasn't about to break that promise for the sake of someone that wasn't letting her see Komatsu as soon as she would've liked. 'I could take her if I could just unlock that hidden power..' She thought to herself, but then let out a sigh and backed off.
"Of course he wouldn't want me to see him while he's sick.. He wouldn't want me to worry like I am right now. As long as I get to see him after training I suppose it'll be okay." Kohlrabi shook her head and relaxed- thought that wouldn't last very long at all, for as soon as Kyuri put the two magical words together, Kohlrabi's face would become a shade of bright red and she'd just stiffen right back up again. "What the hell is that supposed to mean?! Neither of us feel that way! Even then.." Kohl stopped herself mid-sentence, as she was just about to say she wouldn't know what that 'feel' was. "I..I don't feel that way!" She shook her head, stamping her foot against the ground as she finished her sentence.
Wanting to brush the subject off, Kohl simply turned away from Kyuri. "Forget I said anything, I just wanna finish training today so I can go see him!" The Demi-Saiyan would head for the dojo without waiting for a response- that was not a conversation she was looking to get into. Especially with Komatsu's grandma.
Post by King of All on Mar 31, 2016 23:55:41 GMT -5
"Excuse me?" Were the first words out of Kyuri's mouth as Kohl muttered about talking however she pleased. Kyuri could be quite forgiving, in fact she considered herself one of the more kind and gentle saiyan's on the planet! But when someone ticked her off, her old Empire ways tended to creep back up to the surface. She needed to take a moment to keep that bottled in, or else she might have just stricken out against the young girl for speaking so out of line.
She didn't need to act like Miso to teach her a lesson... at least not completely. It looked like Komatsu's request for training would have to wait... for she wasn't going to show this spoiled brat a damn thing, until she learned respect, and how to actually act as a soldier now that she was enlisted. She wasn't going to be easy on Kohl either... hell, this 15 year old girl was about to bring out a side of the older woman not seen in many, many years.
Kyuri would simply cross her arms, staring at Kohl sternly as she spoke out, thinking nothing of training with a Counselor and Colonel of the army, instead worrying about Koma, and making that the sole focus in her mind. She then went on to protest any feeling's for him, and Kyuri remained still, not reacting as she simply acted as a wall between Kohl, and the door.
It wasn't until Kohl turned to storm off towards the dojo, that Kyuri would follow.
Once inside, Kyuri would shut the door behind them, and bring a hand up in front of her, and firing a basic ki blast that would just miss the side of Kohlrabi's face.
"Do you understand how insubordination is treated in the military, private!? Harshly. Very, harshly. Now shut up, stand at attention and listen." She ordered the girl harshly as she stepped forward, glaring down at Kohlrabi as she approached, fully expecting her to stand still, as she had ordered.
"You have been enlisted as a private of the army, and as such, you are to obey orders from your superiors and commanding officers. That attitude can either be left at the door, or beaten out of you. Which do you prefer?" She would ask, her tone now completely different than when Kohl had met her, probably a good indication of how much trouble she was actually in.

Kohlrabi was scared, for a second there. But that fear would quickly turn into rage as she figured out the source of the blast. 'First you don't let me see Komatsu, and now this? How in the hell is that fair?' The Demi-Saiyan would turn around, almost itching to tear her training weights off and beat this old hag into the ground.. Until she saw her face, anyway. She had no idea how to respond other than quickly, and that was just by following the direct order she'd been given. Kohlrabi seemed to at least know how to stand at attention, feet a good distance apart, chin up, and hands at her side completely still. It was something she had learned from her father when she was young, back when she was actually being at least a little bit trained by her parents. His methods were closely similar to what Kyuri's were.. and in a way, Kohlrabi liked that. It was exactly what she needed.
She would stare at Kyuri, and while she had a somewhat blank expression, her brow was furrowed and her eyes expressed a strong sort of anger. 'You do all this shit and expect me to respect you. You've done nothing personal to help me. Just because you're Komatsu's grandma means I have to automatically love you, you god damn dusty old hag. Do something for me and maybe I'll return the favor by showing respect. At this point though, I'd rather just beat the hell out of you.' The angered saiyaness would think to herself, while she would externally remain silent. It took all her willpower and then some to remain utterly still and not shake from the anger she was feeling.
Deep inside of her though, she was sad and just wanted to see Komatsu. She didn't even care about her training for that day- it was simply a means to an end at that point. If she had to get it done to see him, than she would. But now it seemed as if she had fucked up and was going to get a taste of what so many other saiyans had in their childhoods. Honestly, she was a little thankful.. but only just a little. If she could just at least somewhat understand how they felt, she could do a better job in preventing it from ever happening again.
Kohlrabi remained silent, and that was good because the last thing Kyuri wanted to do was have to resort to hitting her. She wasn't opposed to it, but it would still leave a bas taste in her mouth if she did. Whenever she ordered the young girl at attention, she was actually impressed to see her stiffen up and stand straight and proper. Another good thing, at least the girl knew how to use the brain in her head.
"Good girl, you can listen. Now, if this disrespectful attitude is coming from the fact that you feel entitled being around my grandson, that assumption ends here. Komatsu might be your friend, but he's an important figure in the Alliance and I won't let you use that to your advantage." She threatened the girl before bringing her finger up to her lips in an indication she wanted Kohlrabi to remain silent. She didn't care for her to defend herself on that approach, because true or not, she'd have people watching her at all times anyways. It was normally quite difficult to get anywhere near the leaders of the alliance, and this girl had just strolled in like it was nothing.
"Now that you can listen, let's address that pathetic power level. Hanging around Komatsu is going to put you in some serious danger, and I don't want you slowing him down... hmm... slowing him down. Get to running, I want to see laps around this place. 100 of them. GO!" She ordered Kohlrabi, wondering just how long she would continue to listen silently and obey her.
'Damn kid...' She'd think to herself with an exasperated sigh.

Kohlrabi felt like she was going to explode. If things were any different between her and Komatsu she'd tear off her weights and throw-down. But she had respect- not for the older saiyaness, but for Komatsu. And it had better turn out to be damn worth it, too. 'You won't get the satisfaction from me getting angry. That's probably exactly the excuse you'll want just to beat me down.' Kohlrabi thought to herself, trying to keep her thoughts inside her head and not blurting out of her mouth as they usually would, at least in front of Komatsu.
The very idea that Kyuri would imply Kohlrabi would take advantage of Komatsu already served to make her unfathomably angry, but she had actually done it. Externally, Kohl would've just taken a really deep breath in through her nose and held it there before exhaling slowly. The anger she felt caused her heart to pound against her ribcage like an angry bull that wanted out of its pen. She wouldn't doubt that it was literal, too. Her heart was telling her to just forget about this whole training business and fight a fight she couldn't even hope to win with her weights on. Even off, she wasn't very likely to win.
Part of her was very deeply hurt by the statement. But it was shoved down to the very depths, overwhelmed by the anger she didn't want to feel but had to anyway for the sake of not breaking down emotionally. She wouldn't let Kyuri see a single tear out of her, she'd die before she let that happen. "Yes ma'am." Kohlrabi would mutter before she started her hundred laps. It wasn't going to be something that was too hard- without weights, it would be ab absolute breeze. With them though, she was probably going to be sweating just a bit by the end of them.
During her run, Kohl would keep her breathing steady for two reasons. One to suppress her anger, and for two.. well, she was running. It just made things easier if she kept an even sort of pattern. She shoved her anger all the way down and managed to remain at least somewhat blank. It was a delicate condition though, all it would take is more false crap out of Kyuri to get her going again.
Post by King of All on Apr 1, 2016 13:32:09 GMT -5
Again Kohlrabi answered as she should, and Kyuri simply nodded her acknowledgement, tapping her fingers on her arms as she remained there with her arms crossed. She would watch Kyuri start her laps with relative ease, obviously the weights she wore were making it a bit more difficult on her, but it wasn't as if it was a hard exercise...
'In that case... let's make it harder. This little brat's going to learn that her actions have consequences' Kyuri would glower as she waited for Kohl to finish her current lap before uncrossing her arms. A small orb of blue energy would gather in her right hand as she charged it to the side of her body before speaking.
"Faster!" She ordered, but didn't wait for any acknowledgement before firing her spirit cannon towards Kohlrabi. Now she was going to run, AND dodge. Ohhhh was this girl ever going to work up a sweat, and hopefully be too exhausted to bother her grandson while he recovered.

Kohl didn't even attempt to dodge the blast, she would plant her feet firmly and spin around to face towards it, raising her arms to block before it hit. Her weighted power level wasn't nearly enough to protect her, and she was thrown back against the wall hard. The Demi-Saiyan would attempt a landing on her feet, but near instantaneously falling down on to her face almost unmoving. That attack hurt.. a lot. Her small, under-trained body ached, and her breathing had all but stopped. The breaths she did take were all labored. As proud as she was, her entire body rejected her resolve to stand up and fight. The small, hybrid girl struggled to get up to where she could simply rest on her knees, her hands now holding her up as she made desperate attempts to get air into her lungs. 'One attack.. and I'm already beaten down. Why?!' Kohlrabi asked herself as she shut her eyes, tears quickly welled up within them and began to fall, hitting the floor near her hands.
"I'll never give up.. Let me see Komatsu.." The hybrid wheezed out. As much as she wanted Komatsu to just come and rescue her from Kyuri, she knew that would only serve to satisfy the older saiyaness. It would prove that Kohl really was taking advantage of how kind Komatsu was to her. No, she wouldn't wait on him.. She'd help herself somehow, there could be no other way.
'Why? Why can't I be strong enough to beat her? If I can't even protect myself, how will I ever hope to protect anybody?' Kohlrabi thought as she picked herself up and got back on her feet, albeit very shakily. "Let me see Komatsu." The Demi-Saiyan would repeat in a voice that was just as shaky as her, but there was no doubting the strong mixture of emotions she was feeling judging by her tone. "I don't want to train with you! You aren't my teacher- you don't deserve to be! You're gonna let me see Komatsu!" She then shouted, her anger swelling, in the depths of her very being she could feel the familiar essence of the hidden power she had displayed in her self-training- Tugging on her soul- urging her to release it as if it had a conscience of its own.
If Kyuri were paying attention to her power level, she would start to notice it steadily rising. 'I have to be stronger. I have to.. I can't let this old hag push me around anymore!' Kohl would brace her fists at her sides and clench them tightly, tears streaming down her face, head lowered in seething rage. The last straw had been pulled long ago, Kohlrabi had just needed one more push. The ground inside the dojo would began quaking as Kohlrabi's power began to soar, a blue spherical aura would ignite around her but quickly turn to a bright shade of orange.

The elder saiyaness watched as her Spirit Cannon collided with Kohlabi. The girl had actually stopped to face her, trying to block the blast head on and failed. She'd fallen and for a brief moment, the woman was actually frightened that she might have killed the girl with that. However, as she started moving again Kyuri would silently breath a sigh of relief. She was pushing her hard, but the intent was far from killing her. When she pushed herself up though, the first thing she demanded was to see Komatsu, and Kyuri's eyes narrowed.
"No." Kyuri answered simply to the girl as she charged up another blue orb into her right hand, holding it as if she was ready to throw a dodge ball at the girl. When Kohlrabi repeated herself, Kyuri didn't. She shouldn't have had too. Then, Kohlrabi went as far as saying Kyuri didn't deserve to be her trainer, and that notion made the woman scoff.
"Girl, I've trained leaders, and Heroes. It's you who doesn't deserve my training. So zip your smart ass mouth, and act like the military personnel that you are." She stated seriously, her eyes staring directly into Kohlrabi's. She didn't care that she was crying, not in the slightest. This girl had no discipline, and it was better that she knock it into her than someone like Miso, or god forbid, Nasu.
Her internal scanners started to beep like crazy, alerting her to Kohlrabi's power level as it began to sky rocket. 'Interesting... her base power is far to weak for her to be going super saiyan... but this... could it be the same power that Jie Shan possesses?' She thought to herself as she didn't move her eyes from Kohl. If it was true, then none of them could assume her base power was all the strength she had. She could easily assume that the girls power would rise roughly 5 times it's normal level.

Kohl's pupils had completely dissapeared, her fair skin would've gained a a slight yellow hue and her hair would flare upwards gaining a red tint as her power level continued to soar upwards. She couldn't form the words to respond to Kyuri, Kohlrabi was like a mad bull- all she could see was red as she entered a blind rage. If it weren't for the weights she'd go ahead and beat Kyuri down. She was sick of the stupid military bullshit. The Demi-Saiyan was incapable of thinking clearly, she only had one directive and it was one she had made herself: See Komatsu. If Kyuri wanted to stop her, she'd have to kill Kohl. "If you wanna beat me, go ahead and do it! I don't care anymore!" Kohlrabi screamed out of unfathomable anger before flying forwards towards Kyuri. She was a saiyaness with nothing to lose, except Komatsu of course, which was only more reason for her to be fighting a fight she couldn't possibly win with how weighed down she was.
As the distance between the two saiyans was closed, a fiery orange energy would surge through Kohl's arms and legs whilst she spun around mid-flight attempting to land a roundhouse kick on Kyuri's side. If successful she would follow up with a right hook to the gut before following up with a swift uppercut. She knew the fight would end with the hell beaten out of her, but with how angry she was she couldn't care. The only thing on her mind was getting through Kyuri no matter what the cost may be.

Kyuri would watch the physical changes to Kohlrabi with great interest. Silently, she began recording the event for multiple reasons. She wanted to know everything about this power that hybrids seemed to possess, as it wasn't the first time she had encountered it. However, what seemed strange about Kohlrabi's strange power, was her eyes. The only time she had seen someone lose their eye color was in her own daughter, and Komatsu himself. It was a state that they had come to call battle mode. It was a state where they would continue to fight no matter what, ignoring all sense of pain, even if the wound was crippling, or fatal. It was dangerous, and could no doubt kill whoever had found themselves in it.
However, unlike the battle mode, Kohlrabi had been able to speak through her anger. She claimed she didn't care if Kyuri beat her up, and that was all the permission she needed. She wasn't going to let such an insubordinate brat in the military. She was a liability they couldn't afford, and being suspended was now the least of Kohlrabi's worries. Especially now that the young girl has charged towards Kyuri in an attempt to strike her.
Well, she couldn't have anything like that! And so, as Kohlrabi approached to swing a roundhouse kick to her ribs, Kyuri did nothing to block it. She would take the blow, allowing it to create the smallest of distances between the two girls before Kyuri would bring her left hand forward to grab her fist, while her right hand (no longer holding an energy blast) would grab Kohlrabi by the bicep. With a great amount of her strength, Kyuri would attempt to literally throw Kohlrabi over her shoulder, and into the opposing wall.

Kohl would hit the opposite wall with an almost unhealthy sounding noise. She would slide back down onto the floor but immediately spring back up, the length of her arms up to her elbow seemed mildly burnt, probably from all the unstable energy she had channeled into them. The enraged saiyaness would simply continue her assault on Kyuri, throwing all sorts of kicks and punches. And though she was in the middle of a blind rage, the Soy school stance was committed to memory and so she stayed in that particular form. All the exercises with it during the self-training she wasn't supposed to be doing had turned using the stance into a habit. It was a lot better than her old sloppy technique.
Even though her power level quit rising at, as Kyuri predicted, five times her base power level (with training weights on of course) her energy was completely out of control. Other than the aura shooting off in any and all directions it could, Kohlrabi's skin was hot to the very touch. If she hadn't been so angry it would hurt like hell, but she persisted even through the pain because- as she said- she didn't care anymore. She didn't care what happened to herself, she just had to see Komatsu. She had to know he was okay, and she wasn't going to take Kyuri's word for it. The hybrid would have to see it with her own eyes before she'd cooperate.
Kohlrabi wished she had known about this power when she was younger, it could've been used to save her parents. But they were dead, so.. to put it harshly, they didn't matter. Not right now, anyway. Komatsu was what mattered most to her. He was actually alive, unlike her parents- or so she was assuming. She really had no idea, because as mentioned before she simply didn't trust Kyuri. Alive or not though, he had better not be hurt. Kohlrabi could use this power right now, this was the most inappropriate time possible to be regretting the death of her parents. It was over and done, which sadly took a situation as dangerous as this for her to realize. If it wasn't Kyuri that beat her down, it would be herself.
