[Guardian Micaela's PL: 500,000 base. Suppressed to 5.]
[Atsuko's PL: 3,500 base. Sealed to 5.]
Age 1568
Eight years. That is how long Micaela had been the Guardian of Earth. It was six years ago that she was also involved with a fight against the Saiyan Alliance, a group of Saiyans that made their home on Earth. Truth be told, it wasn't something that she enjoyed doing. But there was something that the Guardian determined to be an undeniable truth about the Saiyans; those that wanted to live in peace were the exception, not the rule. Neither Natto or Tomoroko liked that assessment of hers... But the Guardian met them on even ground, challenging them in a fashion that they could not deny.
A matter to be settled through fighting strength. As Saiyans, neither of them could disagree to that. And though the battle was fierce, she had proven to be the victor in the end of it. The Saiyan Alliance stuck to the terms, and left peacefully. It was much to the ire of all the Saiyans... But what option was there? She could challenge every Saiyan to ever act out of accord in Earth, certainly. Even kill them, but it would take up much of her precious time. A distraction from her duties, and the spilled blood...
It would make her little better than a tyrant. Though Natto and especially Tomoroko didn't like it, there was reasoning and truth behind her actions. In the end, she wanted the same thing they did: Peace, and the Saiyans were still too firmly planted in their ways for that to be a possibility... But it could change. So it was that she struck out a message of goodwill towards the Saiyan Alliance, located on their new home. Her reasons for contacting them were simple; she wanted to ensure that there was peace between their races, to do that they needed to make efforts toward such a goal.
Micaela began by asking of their children. An odd question given the subject, to be sure... It was not without hesitation that they obliged her request for information. Nasu... And Kimiko. Those were the two that were born. And apparently Nasu was quite the problem child. No good, that wouldn't suit the purpose at all. Kimiko was recently born as well, but apparently she had been born with a considerable power, and a few odd traits among the Saiyans... The Guardian then made one of the most absurd requests just about anyone could have made.
She asked that Kimiko be sent to Earth, in order to be raised as her successor. She believed that a Saiyan would prove far more trustworthy to the Saiyan Alliance, and it would also prove that their race was capable of more than violence and destruction. Tomoroko was strongly opposed to the idea. But Natto proved to be the reasonable one in the situation. He believed that it would offer a better life for her. In the end, it suited what everyone was after as well; the prospect of peace could hardly be denied. They may not have liked Micaela very much.
But she was a trustworthy sort. She would raise Kimiko well, even more than that, she promised to do exactly as such.... It wasn't something that they agreed to right away. They had to think it over, Micaela understood that and let the subject lie for the time being... That was some time ago, however. As now? The Guardian was holding the very child she had requested, currently seated on the Throne within the Timeless Lookout. Micaela smiled softly at her. "So small, and young... Yet you hold a considerable power.", the woman would comment softly.
Kimiko was born with a higher than average power level. It was actually just slightly higher than Nasu's at his birth, as well... However, no one would know of that, aside from Natto and Tomoroko. That wasn't part of what Micaela asked, but they decided that to be the best way to handle things, and she wasn't going to argue with them. "There's a considerably long road ahead of you... I'm going to make sure that you're prepared for it, too.", she'd continue speaking. The Saiyan Child not comprehending her words, but even so, Kimiko proved to be calm.
"Let's start with your name... You'll need to blend with the rest of Earth, after all. Atsuko Inoue will be your name now.", Micaela would state. Seeming to be proud of the name she had come up with. She could only imagine that none within the Saiyan Alliance would pick the surname she had chosen; it was her own. Yes, Micaela Inoue. In many ways, Kimiko was to be her daughter from this point on. It was only fitting as the Heir to her Throne. So what was next on the agenda? well, Saiyans had an unusual property involving their tails.
It was a weakness, for one thing. For another, it granted them a terrible power when glancing upon the Full Moon. The obvious thing that Micaela could have done here was simply remove the tail... But she didn't want to harm or disfigure the child in such a fashion. There was no guarantees that it wouldn't simply grow back, anyway. So, the Guardian had a different idea in mind. It took a little preparation, but the Guardian would begin to gently tie the Saiyan's hair down with a blue ribbon. It was no ordinary ribbon, however. This one held a special property.
Not a boon to increase Atsuko's power, but instead to limit it. She would be just as strong as the average Human while wearing it... It was something she could overcome, of course. Eventually it would simply have no effect on her, at that. But the reasoning for this was twofold; it would prevent the Albino Saiyan from transforming into a Great Ape. The Guardian didn't want that happening to the child, knowing full well just how disastrous it could be for everyone involved for her to transform like that... "Now you won't have to worry about anyone grabbing your hair in battle, too."
The Guardian continued in a motherly tone. She... Didn't really have the chance to form a relationship, or receive her own child. But now she was tasked with taking care of a Saiyan, her very own daughter. That's exactly what Atsuko would be. But there would need to be far more than just a simple ribbon to limit her power... The Albino Saiyan needed a safe place to be raised. The Timeless Lookout would work for her youth, and even some of her early training. But, Micaela had an idea of where to send her...
In her travels, she had learned of a Monastery that was based within the mountains of the Frozen North. There, a powerful artifact laid dormant, a silver sword that was once the Legendary Excalibur. Of course, Micaela didn't intend to simply leave the child there, either. She would raise Atsuko, and guide her throughout her life. The Albino Saiyan would end up needing a lot of help... And the Guardian would serve out such a role, even if from the shadows. That left the question of why she was choosing to head into what equated to retirement.
The truth of the matter was, Earth was heading into a time of great peace. It no longer needed someone of a vast power; that only beckoned those with dark aspirations. With that militaristic government out of the picture, and the monarchy reinstated... Things were well on their way. The Saiyans weren't around to cause problems either. And now with the Albino Saiyan here on Earth... Micaela had then decided to deactivate the Dragon Balls, they no longer served a purpose for now. She would prolong this peace as long as possible in order to train Atsuko in everything she would need to become a proper Guardian.
That day was far off... There was much to go over. She wouldn't be able to there to personally see her through every step of the way, either. Micaela wanted the child to become strong, independent. If she relied on a Guardian that wielded a strength no enemy could hope to match, then she would become content, never seeing reason to push herself beyond limitations. "There's a lot of training to do... Toru is going to help, as well. But for now, you get to enjoy being a child, even if just for a little longer."
The Guardian would then state with another soft smile on her face. Things had fallen silent within the Timeless Lookout, and indeed, all across Earth, conflicts had been brought to an end. It was no perfect golden age, it wasn't entirely without struggles, darkness and those with evil intent... But it was definitely the closest that their planet had come to in quite a long time. However, even if Micaela were to resign from her position as a Guardian of Earth, that didn't mean the end of her duties. Far from it, in fact. The next seventeen years would be critical.
"Haha... Even now, it seems I can't keep things simple. I hope that you'll grow into this role well, Atsuko. It can be quite... Taxing.", Micaela would softly comment again. She knew that the child was too young to understand her words, it didn't matter. The Guardian was thankful to have the chance to raise her. It surprised her that Natto and Tomoroko agreed to such a deal. It proved even more surprising that Toru actually wanted to stay on Earth to train with her. Then again, Saiyans never really stopped being surprising... Even as predictable as they could sometimes be.
The Guardian supposed that it helped that she agreed to allow the Saiyans back onto Earth, so long as they had good reason. She would still watch them closely to ensure that nothing bad happened... She expected something to go wrong whenever their warlike race became involved. Natto and Tomoroko were both individuals she could respect. And Toru... Well, he was a harmless goof. The same couldn't be said for the rest of the Saiyans, however. That was her problem with their race, the majority of them were too wrapped up within their pride and power.
And the Earthlings simply didn't have the power to protect themselves. If she allowed the Saiyan Alliance to stay on Earth as openly as they did, then it was only a matter of time before an all out war broke out. It would have ravaged the planet and led to needless slaughter on both sides. The Guardian lets out a small sigh as she muses on that... If there was an easier solution, she would have gladly taken it. But there wasn't much use in getting depressed about that now. In some ways, she couldn't help it. This role as a Guardian made her weary.
Eight long years... She'd be at this for even longer still. Even when Atsuko would become a Guardian of Earth, that didn't mean the end of her training or her guidance. Maybe there would be a day where Micaela didn't have to be in hiding anymore, and could speak with her daughter properly... That would be nice. Still, she had to focus on the present. She would need to make arrangements with that Monastery, Micaela knew a fair amount about their Order, but she wanted all of the details she could acquire. She'd do so forcefully if need be.
All in due time... For now, as selfish as it may have been, the Guardian wanted to spend more time with the child. The least she could do was be a parent for the earliest years of Atsuko's life, after having so unfairly ripped her way from her true family... Micaela couldn't even entirely say she was in the right anymore. Time had a funny way of playing with one's perspectives and outlooks. That was why she wanted to prepare a successor, however. One that would be more ready to assume such a monumental role.
Caring for an entire planet was no easy feat, for anyone...
