(Note the beginning right here is a flashback to Kagari's arena days)
Planet Vegeta's coliseum was packed, as usual. This was back in the day when Kagari was still young and the Saiyan Empire still had an iron grip on Planet Vegeta and it's people. Even in the midst of a war, people came to the arena and basked in the constant bloodshed that took place there. "PEOPLE OF PLANET VEGETA!" The voice of a man yelled over the roaring crowds. They craved bloodshed.. and they ere going to get it. Kagari opened her eyes and looked out towards the arena. Like every fighter, she wore nothing but rags and had only her fists for a weapon and was locked in an iron cell within the colloseum's walls. Sunlight spilled through the spaces between the bars on the big metal door of her cell. She could see clearly out into the arena. "YOU HAVE COME FOR EXCITEMENT... ENTERTAINMENT... AND BLOODSHED!" The man continued on, earning even louder screams and cheers from the crowds. "AND TODAY, WE HAVE A SURPRISE TREAT FOR YOU ALL!" Kagari sighed and stood up. It was time to get this show on the road.
It was like a scene from the goddamn hunger games. Several doors opened at the same time, one of them being Kagari's. Not a step out the door and people were already being slaughtered.. Yes, it was one of those occasions. Probably some sort of sick celebration where the empire would pit a massive group of fighters against one another. But of course, as one of the champion's, she had to participate.. She herself was the treat. "HERE COMES OUR REIGNING CHAMPION! GIVE IT UP FOR THAT DEMONIC ABOMINATION WE ALL KNOW AND LOVE, THE GODDESS OF WAR, THE BLACK DEMON OF THE WEST: KAGARI!" The announcer yelled, earning not cheers.. but boos and protest from the crowd. Yes, she was indeed the champion, but she was not a saiyan. She was, as the empire called her, 'a dirty demon abomination'.
Her titles were far from fitting and very exaggerated.. Yes she was skilled in battle, and honestly she was more red- more specifically ruby than she was black. If she really had to have such ridiculous titles the announcer could at least come up with something at least a tad more fitting, like.. The Crimson Peacekeeper, or the Ruby Defender- nah, those two sounded ridiculous too.
There were things in this world that hurt far more than words, though. The scars that marred her body made this extremely clear. But as the announcer spoke, she had grabbed a saiyan by his face and forcefully slammed him into the ground. Fighters fell left and right all around her, and she was responsible for a good majority of them. Of course she would use non-lethal force and stick to the usage of her hands rather than any weapons that had been scattered across the arena.
Two more champions were in the arena, fighting away to their heart's content. Kagari didn't like them, obviously. Not because they competed with her for the rank of grandmaster. But because they killed without remorse. It was wrong.. so very wrong. There was absolutely no point in the bloodshed around her. Instinctively, Kagari ducked as a fist was swung at her. She spun around and grabbed the fist as the fighter attacking her went in for another swing. Squeezing hard, the hand eventually popped before giving off a loud crack indicating the hand had been broken. Leaving that fighter in crippling pain, Kagari tossed him aside and proceeded to move to the side of the arena to avoid getting into more fights. She wanted to watch and wait for the other champions. The temptation to kill them for their wrong doings was great.. But she couldn't blame them. They were going to die, anyway. But still, even if they were going to be killed off as it was Kagari still couldn't make herself take a man's life.
This was when she came back to reality.
Kagari awoke with a start.. finding herself in a strange place. She knew where she was- it was too painfully obvious. She was dead, and somehow she had recieved a body. Her days in the arena still haunted her, and she just wished she could quit living in the past and move on. Try to get through the rest of eternity without anymore nightmares or bad memories, but by now it seemed impossible. The final days of her life as a combatant were not bad, as by that point the Cerulean Empire was in place. But the damage the saiyan empire had inflicted upon her would not simply heal and go away.
The elemi sat down and brought her knees up to her chest, bowing her head and hiding her face in her knees. She wanted to cry.. but she couldn't. Her brain was so hardwired to not allow for such things that it physically hurt her to even try and cry now. The girl took a shakey breath, trying to force the tears to come out. All those pent up tears from the years of abuse she had suffered in life at the hands of the Saiyan Empire.
It all felt fucking pointless. Why had she been given a body again? Was it the sacrifice she had made? What was the damn point? Could they not just turn her into a fucking cloud or whatever the hell? She had no use for a body whatsoever. She felt useless and without a purpose. It was the worst feeling possible, she just wished she were given a chance at something more normal in life. But there was nothing to go back to.. Nothing to build up off of. No family, no friends, no nothing.
By no means had Kagari's death been a painless one, and with it came great sacrifice. She did not want to remember it- she wanted to erase the images from her mind. For all the things in that arena that had traumatized her, the man that she had fought resulting in her own death was the cherry on top.

I'm going to make her life errrrr..... afterlife better, that's ok right? She's here now... she deserves that much
Kagari Shibata, her existence was a sad one. A life of slavery, her life never truly her own. Rumia had watched at first as a child. She used to be free of course. Then again she also used to be in her sector of the universe. Still sad as it was it was after being taken from Rumi's slice of the heavens that West kept a closer eye on the hybrid. Her life was one of things that made her state of affairs almost unbearable. If she could she would have taken the pain away. But she couldn't, it just wasn't an 'emergancy' according to their standards. Instead she watched over the girl. She paid close attention to her life whenever she had the free time. The sad thing was she was kind of HOPING Kagari would die-at least then she might be able to do something for her among the clouds. Grand's proposal and her recent death (and for that matter one of her least favorite fights) gave her exactly the opportunity she needed! Talking it over with Yenma sealed the deal. Rather than normal cloud living the fiery gal was sent to their planet-sent to her.
It was Rumia's goal to make her transition better. She refused to begin with talk of combat in any form. This was a woman who had litterly been forced to fight her entire life... no she'd get a break first. Besides she wanted to have a chat first! Crys was gathering fish for.... well she didn't know really, She assumed it was to cook something for the lot of them but... oh well. Soon her steps would bring her within range of her intended target. That was her, What was she thinking right now? How was she adapting?
"Kagari Shibata"
She approached the younger but well taller girl with a smile. Would probably Be creepy to Just out right admit her reason for being here, though she probably should tell her a bit!
"Hello dear Kagari. My name is Rumia and I am supreme kai of the western galaxy. I don't mean to be to foward or anything but I'm kinda sorta the reason your here rather than ya know.... a cloud"
She chuckled briefly. Nothing wrong with playing around a bit right? If she COULD make her smile that would be wonderful but somehow she just... doubted that would be the case. Probaly hard for her to be happy about anything considering recent events. Oh well she'd do what she could!
"To be perfectly frank I brought you here for two important reasons, the second we can talk about later but the main thing is ummm would you believe that I wanna help you?"
Not a very believable statement but it was true none the less. Besides beings of divinity weren't very prone to limiting right? Maybe she could feel that. That was her main goal anyway. Kagari's life had been harder than most and much like Crys Rumia simply wanted to ease... something! Maybe they could have some fun or something!
"In any case I'm sure this kinda thing takes some getting used to... would you like to walk with me? We can talk more if you wish, you must have questions no?"
West help out a hand for Kagari to take. Whether she took it or not was Her own choice. She was pretty eager for her answer though! Their was a big tree down the planet that gave simply THE best shade coverage!

Kagari lifted her head from her knees and rubbed at her eyes with her arm of her sleeve when she heard her name spoken. "Huh?" The ex-gladiator looked up to see a very small, but equally cute lady. Kagari had seen tall and intimidating-but short and sweet was something new. Speaking of tall and intimidating.. for an arena fighter, Kagari didn't seem to be either. She was not nearly as short as the western kai, but she definitely had some potential sweetness if not for the sadness she had about her. "Supreme.. Kai?" The young elemi inquired. Everyone and their mother had heard of the Kai's- at least, most educated people and their mother's knew of the Kai's. Luckily, Kagari was among that bunch that knew of them. Supreme was something entirely new to her though.. but it most certainly sounded like an important role to have.
"Oh um.. Thank you for the new body, west Ka-- erm.. Rumia." Kagari wanted to be polite as possible to Rumia. If she were a supreme kai, her job must be very stressful and Kagari did not wish to make it any harder on her. While she didn't smile, she looked less sad and more like a lost, curious puppy. Kagari reached out for Rumia's hand and stood up from her sitting position on the ground. For someone raised specifically to be a warrior, Kagari did not fit what most people would imagine when thinking of the Saiyan Empire's finest, well-trained fighters. But despite her dominant demon genes, she would most likely seem very kind in comparison to your standard corrupted person- not to say she was corrupted.. yet.
It could always happen at any given moment. For a half demon, corruption seemed like a constant threat. It was one of the two main reasons Kagari tried to avoid killing people as much as possible. The one exception had been who had been responsible for her own death in one helluva double KO. "Well, um.. Yeah! I guess I do have some questions. You've got to be the best person to go to for answers, huh? You must know a lot if you watch an entire universe." Kagari nodded to herself. Yes, yes Rumia must be very very smart. "Why did you give me a body, even? I can't be nearly as special as some other people. I'm just.. a nobody." It was most likely true that she was a nobody. Despite her fame in the arena, it was very likely that no one would ever remember her. Her death would have no ill effect on anyone.
"Yes we ummm... we watch over the universe, make sure it dosn't turn to absolute garbage etc....."
Maybe she should slow down a bit. They had all the time in the world to talk after all! Rumia had a super long lifespan and Kagari was well... dead, so they wearing exactly in a rush here! She frowned when she wasn't able to bring out a smile but was happy none the less when the elemi took her hand. Was this the longest she had been without combat? It was so very unfortunate it took death itself to separate her from the cycle of bloodshed, even more that Rumia was in essence dragging her right back into in the afterlife. It was a needed thing though. West didn't like it fully but this girl was the only spirit she thought dependable enough for the task ahead of her. She'd make it as easy for her as possible of course. Besides with her and Crys things were bound to be much more fun than that dirty bloodstained arena she had lived in!
"Your welcome Kagari, it was the least I could do really"
The two began their walk. The youngling was every bit as weak as would expected given her situation. Not physically of course no was a fighter through and through from what she had seen while alive. No she meant on the mental side of things. One could tell just in the way she carried herself she was broken. It just wasn't normal not to smile, to be incapable of tears! These were the signs of a marred heart and she had every intention of fixing the issue as best she could! True it would be hard and would take time but well.... they were in the afterlife right? No shortage of time here! Still she was so much different in comparison to the beings she had witnessed during her short time in Makai. True she could feel the demonic energy within her but it just... different. Even as a Kai she couldn't tell exactly how. Perhaps it was simply the fact hers wasnt the malevolent stuff she was used to seeing in her full blooded counterparts. That was a good sign in her opinion. From what she had seen Kagari had never killed wwithout need anyway! Her corruption was defently the smallest she had felt in a demon in a long time hell she had seen more in a lot if humans for that matter! In short she was right-just the kind of person she needed around. She chuckled and nodded in response to her response. She supposed she was the best to ask. Well really their were two others but they wearnt overseeing this shattered heart now were they? Her question on the other hand angered west quite a bit. The anger was very much visible on her face soon as the question left her lips, Rumia halted her walk and glared at the hybrid not out of any sort of anger towards her, just her words.
"No! Their will be no talking yourself down while your in my earshot Kagari Shibata! Your a very special snowflake I'll have you know! If you wearn't I sure as heck woudn't have put myself out with old man Yenma to get you here, Is that understood?!
As soon as she finished her brief rant her expression changed to a more down, sad look. She knew the girl didn't have to high an opinion of herself but come on, this was depressing.
"I want to help you and... your dependable enough for the second thing, an important thing I have every intention of training you for"
She she shook her head briefly, In an attempt at shaking off the remnants of negativity flowing about the area. Far to much of that around here lately.
"Things in the universe are going to the pits, to the point it's close to getting out of our hands to keep under control. If such a threat were to spill over into this side of things well.... we'd need beings such as yourself to help turn the tide so to speak"
She had every right to know but Rumi had wanted to get to know each other a bit better first! To know what goes on in the fiery ones little head. She knew her life but that didn't mean. She knew her thoughts.
"I personally hate the idea of a meat shield though.... I'd much prefer to help you as well, if your ok with the arrangement anyway"

"O..oh?" The startled elemi wasn't sure how else to respond to the western kai's anger- it clearly wasn't the sort of anger Kagari was used to. Generally when people were angry at her, they were throwing rotten food or beating her. Rumia was doing neither, she was just trying to make Kagari happy. And once the elemi had realized this, she felt a little bit bad. 'Well, if she wants me to be happy.. Then I'll have to try!' Kagari would nod to herself, taking a deep breath and straightening herself up a bit. "I'm sorry miss Rumia, I'll try to think better of myself!" Kagari would declare rather proudly. She was probably taking the whole thing a tad bit more to heart than she was supposed to, but Kagari wanted to prove she could follow Rumia's instructions. If Rumia had some sort of job for her, Kagari had to show that she more than qualified for it!
Noticing the Kai's sad look in the middle of her little display of resolve, Kagari would shake her head and bow again. "I'm really sorry miss Rumia, please don't be sad!" The elemi would apologize over and over- clearly scared of messing up so very early on before the Kai had even told Kagari what her new job was going to be. This was just before Rumia started to give only a brief explanation of what her new job was going to be. Though despite being so brief, Kagari seemed to get the gist of it.. or maybe not. "So.. I'm gonna be a superhero or something?" The elemi would ask as stood up straight from bowing.
The surprisingly childish elemi clearly wasn't against the idea of being a super hero. It was sort of a dream job of hers, really. She would love to be a protector rather than a cold-blooded killer. The thing was that she really didn't know how to do much aside from fighting in an arena. As much as she would like to be some sort of super hero figure that people could look up to instead of a dirty enslaved pit fighter, she kinda only knew how to be the latter. "I mean.. You sort of gave me my body back, so I at least owe it to you to give it a shot don't I? That's not to say I don't wanna try! But.. I'm still kinda confused."
Rumia would perk up almost instantly when Kagari heeded her words. She was glad that at least she'd try! The hybrid had left a rough life to be sure, it'd be hard to have any sense of confidence given that. Yet still she just hated seeing frowns all over people, specifically such a cute face as hers! Besides negativity was such a lame thing to spread. Did it really make sense to feel down when it was so much easier to stay happy and solve things one step at a time? That was her philosophy! Pretty good one if she did say so herself to. Well that was until Kagari apparently caught sight of her brief display of disappointment, followed by a RAPID display if apologising. Rumia would wave her hands back and forth in Front of her, shaking her head to signal her point. It wasn't a problem! Just bad timing. Silly old bad timing. Still she was pretty kind hearted despite her time in the living world. That was a good sign! She would make a great apprentice, a perfect guardian-And a great friend for Crys!
"No no Kagiri it's no issue! Simply.... I assure you I had a great reason for giving you physical form, besides! You soooo didn't deserve the whole cloud lifestyle, trust me-I hear it's pretty boring"
She had to giggle a bit at her continuous bowing. Course she was used to it from the other spirits when she left the planet but she none the less always found it funny. They were bowing because of who she was, what she was born as. She didn't really see much point in that. She never bowed to Mar or even Narl, had no real plans to ether! Still she simply offered a smile in turn to the Elemi. Her frantic attitude towards was just waaay to cute not to notice. It was funny really how close her idea of the job was to the truth, plenty close enough for Rumia to give a nod as an answer.
"That's pretty close to what you'll be needed for yes! Of course should you choose to decline I'm sure I can find a comfy place back in other world for you.... you'll keep the form of course, in that case. If you decide to stay though you can stay with me and my other apprentice Crys, We'll be more than happy to have you!"
She listened to the girls words. She was still confused and understandably so. Rumia probably wasn't doing a very good job explaining all things considered. Their was a far easier way for her to explain this whole situation to her at least... assuming she was willing to share minds for a moment.
"Kagari... if you want to know in full, I can show you. The thing is... to do it I'd need show you my thoughts, they'd be way better than the ramble of words I'd come up with anyway... though that's really only if your willing to let me in"
She reached a single hand out and began focusing her energy. Should Kagari take it she'd be shown in detail the recent meeting she had with the other kai's and tomo. She'd also see, from Rumi's imagination visions of the trio eating together-along with several rounds of Rumia's training sessions so far with little Crys. It was the only real way Rumia knew to show Kagari what she had planned, and how she wanted to help.
That was of course if she made the choice to see to begin with.

When it was confirmed Kagari would be something of a super hero, she brightened up a bit more. Placing her hands on her hips and standing almost triumphantly, just as most superhero's did on the cover of comic books. No, she was not going to pose like the closest thing the living world had had to a superhero in the last thousand or so years- no great demon elemi woman thing here, nope. She was silly, but not that silly. "No more pit fighting for me! From now on, I'll be super.. super something. Ultra?" Kagari quit posing as she became really confused, suddenly. She placed a finger on her chin as she tried to think of a super hero name that didn't sound really doofy.
Fortunately, Rumia was able to stop Kagari from zoning out as the little goddess offered the ex-gladiator her hand. "Oh? Uh, yeah! I don't mind it if you read my thoughts." Kagari took hold of Rumia's hand. Once again, for someone who had been a fighter for their entire life, her hands didn't have that roughness you would expect. Honestly, she was pretty soft. Her skin in superb condition for the lifestyle she had led. The images she was being shown confused her, sure.. But they somehow also made things clearer. Much, much clearer. However.. Now that Kagari's mind was open as well, looking deep enough into it Rumia would be able to find something somewhat disturbing.
Almost at the very back of her mind, deep beneath all the other stuff that could be found innocent or cute or depressing, there was some major corruption. Extremely dark thoughts far at the back of the girl's mind- not at all matching how she was currently acting. If she were to act on these thoughts she wasn't even aware of, she would probably be trying to kill everything just to sate the blood lust the girl has but refuses to acknowledge the existence of. Going as far as to deny it would exist at all.
Corruption was a constant danger for a demon dominant elemi like herself. If she were to remain that kind, pure of heart elemi Rumia was talking to now, she would need plenty of attention. Kagari knew of this corruption, of course. She had even tapped into it once. When she fought against the man who had killed her in something of a double knock out, she tapped into this corruption and while it may have given her the power she needed to do something for the greater good, she had most likely become something of a monster. Not that she would be aware of it- such a power was uncontrollable for the level she was at, so it was a good thing she died when she did.
"I.. I would really like that, miss Rumia. It's something I could only dream of having but, if you are willing to give it to me just out of the kindness of your heart.. I'll be your guardian. I'll lay my life.. er, afterlife down on the line for you!" WC: 516 TWC: 2,317
Their was light within Kagari. Their shared thoughts gave off as much. It was a light Rumia couldn't help but admire her for. Their were so many people in the universe that gave into darkness and corruption so readly. A lot of things made her sad in this universe, Kagari wasn't one of them. While she transferred the images to Kagari's mind she was in turn feeling all that her aura had to offer. Mrs superhero had all the light in the world on the surface but... when she tried to delve as deep as she could into her being she was met with an incredible wave of darkness. It was of an intensity you would never guess simply talking to the teen. For a moment this darkness caused a look of terror to cross the Kai's face. She was able to hold this kind of force inside her, to ignore its temptation? It was a fury that made her shake just to feel. She would have to do what she could to keep such corruption away from the surface. Once more she questioned if her choice was right. What gave her the right to put this youngling in such danger-even from herself? She was a truly horrible person in that sense.
Kagari brought her out of her thoughts. Rumia released her grip, delivering their link in the process. Having seen what was within her she had a newfound surprise that Kagari was willing to do this for her. Every battle, possibly every training session had a chance of bringing the darkness in the pits of her soul closer to the surface. Even knowing that... she was willing to help her. She was willing to be a hero. She was worried more than anything for her well being but... she couldn't deprive her of purpose ether. She wanted to help-wanted to be a hero. If that was what she really wanted well... she didn't have much of a choice.
"Kagari Shibata, it is my honor to have someone like you as my guardian. However I... I must insist you look after your soul as well, I don't expect Crys to die for me, neither do I you. I've let more people than I'd like perish in exchange for my own. We are equals.... so don't bet on me letting you or her perish ether!"
Though her intent was serious and her will set Rumia played off her words with a playful smile and tone. The last thing she wished was to put Kagari down in anyway. She wasn't going to lose anyone else though, she wasn't sure she could handle it much more. Kagari and Crystal were her allies and with luck would be together for a longtime.
"Thank you Kagari, I will do what I can to make sure you do not regret your choice, hey do you happen to like fish? Crystal's hunting some back around the house, though I can't really guarantee their not frozen solid..."
For now she refused to think of the negative. She wouldn't let ether of them die it was as simple as that. And when her corruption reared its ugly head? She WOULD handle it to, simple as that.
