"Rudieri," said Jie Shan as he paced back and forth in his chamber, "Send for that strange Earthling, the one in yellow. The Hero he calls himself."
"Sure thing, Jie Shan," echoed Rudieri's voice, "I'll dispatch a runner immediately."
"And turn the chamber to ten times the planet's gravity as well. I think it's time to test the Hero for real," he added.
"You got it," confirmed Rudieri, "Though you know it won't do much for you, yeah?"
Jie Shan nodded. "Well, of course. I'm way beyond ten times gravity now. But it's not like I can thrust the Earthling right into it, can I? The sudden change in might just kill him out right."
"Well, yeah," confirmed Rudieri, "Well, actually, maybe not immediately. He'd probably get crushed and his internal organs would rupture and kill him slowly."
"That would be... Unpleasant," mumbled Jie Shan.
"Quite!" Exclaimed Rudieri, "But the runner has been dispatched! Switching the gravity on now! Brace yourself!"
The chamber whirred to life, the technology within the walls beeping and clicking as it warmed up. Jie Shan felt the pressure of the room intensify, and suddenly it was as if there was a pressure on his back. He took a deep breath. This, he thought, wasn't that bad all. He barely felt it, even without the golden influence of the Super Saiyan form.
Jie Shan began his preliminary exercises as he waited for the strange Earthling. It was the regular assortment of push-ups and sit-ups, and for the most part he was entirely unimpeded by the gravity. It felt good to be that far along, even if he was behind some of the people who he called allies. But, in this moment, he felt like he was much more powerful than he really was. And perhaps comparing himself to the Hero would make himself feel even stronger.

The Hero simply rested in a very simple apartment, laying on the ground while puffing out air from his cheek out of boredom. It had been quite a bit since anything happened and he had no idea of what was happening on Earth right now, things were taking up much longer than what he was expecting even if he was getting used to living there. Still he didn’t really like it on Natto as much as he did on Earth. Plus, there was literally nothing to fight and it felt really awkward just asking people around to spar with him, an Earthling. All of a sudden, a Saiyan came into his apartment hurriedly as if he had something to tell him.
“T-the Hero? Your presence is requested-- immediately.” - the Saiyan stated, looking at the man in yellow firmly.
The Hero let his eyes set on the newcomer, staring at him blankly as if he had barely taken note of his presence. He hadn’t really seen him before, nor did he take him too seriously. He just shrugged and replied bluntly. “Ah. Okay.”
The Saiyan didn’t move at all but stood there to check if the Earthling would have actually followed him, but the Hero didn’t seem interested at all. “..So, are you coming?” - the Saiyan asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Absolutely not.”
The Saiyan’s eye twitched briefly, really annoyed by the response given by the Earthling. “..I believe it’s important. It’s Counselor Shan.” - he said, much to the Hero’s surprise as his brow rose, his gaze shifted towards the soldier. “Oh, is it? Hm, well I guess I’ll go check then.” - he said before he suddenly took off and burst out of the building through the ceiling, flying away.
It didn’t take him long to arrive there, he didn’t even need to ask for directions, he had been there already after all. He entered in, no one really questioning him as the bald man just took a stroll through the halls until he found Jie Shan, watching from a spectator room of some sorts. He decided to join him but as soon as he left the spectator area and entered into the actual chamber, his body felt heavier than easier, the gravity almost pushing him down onto the floor.
“T-the hell is going on here..” - he muttered, clenching his fist as he made the effort to at least sustain himself onto his knees while trying to stand up.

Jie Shan felt the Hero’s familiar energy approaching before long. Good, he thought, the Hero was wasting no time in coming here. That meant they could get right into it. And he thought that the Hero would need all the time he could get to adjust. Or perhaps the Earthling might surprise him once again. The man was a bit of an oddity. And it wasn’t even his strength that was in question, Jie Shan had met plenty of powerful human’s during his time as a mercenary. No, the surprise was in how the man carried himself. It felt as if nothing were impossible for him, or if nothing was too weird for him.
But it seemed even he faced difficulties. As soon as the man entered, he fell to his knees, struggling. He demanded answers. And Jie Shan would give them.
“This,” he explained, “Is a gravity chamber. It can intensify the gravity of a certain space many times over. Right now, it's sitting at ten times gravity. Quite different from Earth, eh?”
He crossed over to the man and offered him his hand, ready to held the Hero up. He remembered the first time he’d trained like this. It was hard and he had no one to help him. At least physically. If he could offer the Hero help, it was only right.
The Hero had no idea of what was happening, at first at least. That feeling was somewhat familiar even if he had never experienced it directly, perhaps it was the force that had made him lose his hair? Unlikely. Either way the Hero listened to his words attentively and in silence until he mumbled something to himself and nodded. “Right. Gravity chambers.. I think I remember those.” - he said as soon as he stood up, slowly but he did. Letting his shoulder loosen up as he simply took in the gravity, it was not really easy to move in there but at least he could stand.
He tilted his head slightly, folding his arms on his chest as if nothing was happening as he wondered. “It’s somewhat difficult but eh, really it’s low if it’s only ten times. I believe Natto used to train at.. erm.. definitely higher than that? I don’t remember. I was barely taller than a dog at the time. Then there was Cornatto but he never asked me to train with him in the chamber, heh.” - he said nonchalantly before he grunted, his expression showing off a small sign of annoyance at the gravity.
His foot rose and moved forward, placing onto the ground as he made the effort to step forward and begin walking around the chamber. “I could get used to this after all.” - he muttered, his arms following his legs’ pace as he continued to walk. He suddenly looked up to Jie Shan with his usual dull expression and spoke up as if the two were just chatting. “Anyway, good to see you dude. What have you been up to?” - he asked.
The Earthling some times really was someone you wouldn't expect to meet around, mostly because he didn't really take anything seriously unless it was really worth his attention-- and so far only the Saiyan's strength had made him go serious for once, and yet he lost. Although, he didn't mind. He had been looking for someone to fight for quite a while, and he couldn't find anyone among the Humans one could meet on Earth while there was quite the bunch on Natto.

The Hero rose on his own. Good, thought Jie Shan, he'll make for a solid training partner after all. The man always did impressed him, after all. He talked about the old Overseer, and his training. And then he mentioned another name, one Jie Shan was not quite as familiar with. Perhaps he'd heard it in passing once before, but it did not make anything spring immediately to mind. But he'd not pursue that line of thought.
Jie Shan watched as the man marched around the room, getting his footing in the newly adjusted gravity. Not bad at all, thought Jie Shan. With a little effort, he'd be moving like normal in no time. Already, his personality seemed restored. The man nonchalantly asked what Jie Shan had been up to.
"Eh, well," began Jie Shan, "A whole lot of work. You know, boring stuff. Papers, reading, meetings, all that office crap. Being a Counselor is a lot more work than I imagined. And a lot more boring than I expected. I've been itching for a change of pace lately."
Jie Shan sighed and shook his head. Change of pace indeed, he thought. He needed to get off Natto. He was bored out of his damn mind. "So," he continued, "What's going on with you? Didn't expect you to stick around so long."

He didn’t really know how difficult being a Counselor could be, but he was thankful he was not. After all he hated that kind of ‘duty’, he didn’t mind superhero duties as long as it didn’t get to paperwork which was really boring. Then Jie Shan even spoke of meetings, readings.. bleh. That wasn’t definitely the Hero’s thing, he was more into fighting after all, not as much as Saiyans were but still.
”I see.. that isn’t really something I see myself fit to do. Then I guess that’s how alliance like these work. Perhaps you’d find yourself a hobby or something like that for a change of pace.” - he said, scratching his bald head briefly as he was already managing to catch up the pace with the gravity force pressing onto him.
He looked up to him once more with a confused expression before he just shrugged. “Nothing much. Just the usual going around, a few punches here and there.. heh. I was supposed to be on Earth now but I haven’t heard anything from Cabba, nor is Nasu around apparently. I’ve looked for him left and right but he’s nowhere to be found apparently. So, here I am.. just chilling.” - he said. The Hero obviously trained as well, but he was not probably as much focused as others, he'd still grow stronger just as much as others did. Although, it had nothing to do with him. As a matter of fact, Earthlings were oddly enough fast learners and had more potential than other species-- too bad not many focused on combat as much as he did, or at least as much as others.

A change of pace, thought Jie Shan, how novel. He could very much use one of those. Perhaps the Hero had the right idea about that. A hobby might give him the relief he needed. But what? His greatest hobbies were that of fighting and swordsmanship. What was he supposed to take up? Dancing? He chuckled at the very thought of it.
The Hero explained his predicament. No sign of Cabba nor the Overseer? Well, he thought, there was no surprise there. The Overseer had departed the planet several weeks ago. A shame that the Overseer forgot his promise to the Hero, though. Nothing could be done about that, though.
Except, maybe something could be done about it. Jie Shan pursed his lips and grinned. He had an idea, one that unfolded as he watched the Hero move around the room, his ability to move under gravity rapidly increasing. "Huh," said Jie Shan, "That's too bad, man. So, uh, do you want to go back to Earth? Because I could arrange that if you wanted."
Yes, thought Jie Shan, he could. Recently had had a ship made for himself... Expensive, but with plenty of frills. And he would loved to make use of that.

He couldn’t really tell what Jie Shan was good at-- except fighting of course, but a hobby didn’t really have to be something to dwell over, one would just pick several things and try them out. Perhaps dancing would have really been a good chance, ridiculous but funny at least. “Then again not like I’ve got a hobby myself.. Oh wait. I am a hero for hobby.” - he muttered, nodding to himself before he grunted and managed to pick up the pace and run around the chamber. His steps were heavy but he was slowly catching up with the gravity setting.
All of a sudden, the Hero halted and looked at Jie with a curious expression on his face. His head tilted slightly to the side. “Are you for real? I mean, hey.. if you can arrange that, sure. I kinda miss the place and I’d really show up. I am technically a.. uh.. how are they called again..” - he said, mumbling as he tried to come up with the name of the Earth’s Special Forces.
“..Oh! Z-Fighters stuff. Not sure what it means, a certain Tau just got me in and I am kinda supposed to defend the planet. Meh, not like I didn’t do that kind of stuff before.”

A Z Fighter? Jie Shan shrugged it off. He'd never heard of them, nor this Tau that he mentioned. He supposed that they might be a big deal of Earth, but that was Earth. They had no fame here on Natto. He'd have to keep an eye out for them on Earth. They certainly sounded like people he would like to meet. Defenders of the planet... They were not all that different from himself. Perhaps they might even have a thing or two to teach him about this defending business.
"I see," said Jie Shan, "Quite impressive. I'd quite like to meet the rest of your group. So, I'll tell you what: I'll fly you there personally, in my own ship. Join you on Earth for a spell and all that."
Jie Shan grinned. This is the kind of change of pace he needed. Not gravity training, not bloodshed. A damn vacation, he realized. It would be a wonderful prospect. Perhaps he could even do some recruiting there... He looked at the Hero expectantly. "So, does that sound good? If it does, we can leave in the next week or so. Hell, maybe even sooner if I get someone to cover some stuff for me."

He didn’t really know if Jie Shan knew anything of the Z-Fighters but it didn’t really matter, he just felt like mentioning them. After all he had been missing from the planet for quite a lot, even if it was unlikely that someone had noticed. “Yeah, nothing impressive really.. just a bunch of people I guess.” - he said nonchalantly, grimacing slightly as he managed to hop here and there. Even if he did, it was still somewhat painful and stressing but he could handle it.
“Uh? Well, feel free to meet them if you wish.. and sure you can fly me there.” - he told him, even if he seemed more focused in his small training session.
He looked at him once more, offering a friendly smile as he nodded. “Yeah sure. That’s fine to me. I mean, at least I won’t travel alone this time. Natto is dead, Cornatto is not around here.. yeah we can leave at any time. No reason for me to stay here to be honest.”
“And aren’t there like more counse-something of those like yourself? I guess they could cover your stuff.”

At least the man seemed receptive to the idea. It was odd. Jie Shan thought he could read people well enough. Years of soldiering and mercenary work would quickly hone one's ability to read people. If one did not practice that ability, it would likely get them killed. And Jie Shan had survived so far, so he liked to think he was an expert at it. But the Hero... Jie Shan had trouble reading him. What an oddity, he thought. At least he was not unpleasant to be around.
"Alright, good deal, man!" Exclaimed Jie Shan, "And yeah, I wouldn't worry about it. The other counselors are pretty good about these kinds of things. They did well enough without me before I was one. I'm sure they can handle it."
Jie Shan cracked his knuckles and returned the man's smile. "Now," he continued, "Why don't we get down to training? I see you're handling the gravity pretty well. Maybe you'd care to test yourself?"
Jie Shan spread his arms, welcoming the man to come at him. Another fight, he thought, and the Earthling just kept getting stronger. It was intriguing, to say the least. And Jie Shan was very interested in seeing where this went.

The Hero had never been someone easy to read, perhaps because he could be fined as a socially awkward person but he was like nothing one would ever imagine to find on Earth, he had never met anyone like himself. It might have been because of his origins; being raised by Saiyans or the circumstances he lived with as a teen-- it could be anything really. It was as if he never even tried to take anything seriously, there he was.. just chilling like most days.
He wasn’t even taking it seriously right there, in the gravity. It almost felt like a game to him, to walk and jump around until he would have beaten the gravity force upon himself. He had never experienced it before but he seemed to be getting the hang of it pretty quickly, it was not that easy; his muscles were pretty tense after all. He nodded in agreement with Jie Shan’s statement. “Yeah, I guess so. Then I’ll attend our departure, just call me and I’ll be there in a few minutes.” - he said.
The Hero blinked for a moment or two, the Saiyan wanted to fight? Well, now that was something he was looking forward to. Their latest fight had left him with tons of doubts, especially what he had seen a few moments before he lost but even more important was.. did he actually release some kind of inner power? He didn’t even notice it, but he could tell how curious is it was that he was capable of hurting Jie Shan with his Hero Punch-- minorly but still.
He knew this was going to be some good fun. He grinned and nodded, adjusting his stance to face him. “Yeah sure. It’s been quite a bit and I have not seen you in your Super Saiyan form yet.” - he told him before he clenched his fist tightly but instead of punching him like usual, he’d sprint towards him and begin the spar with a roundhouse kick.

So the fight was on. The Earthling came barreling at him, moving fluidly into a roundhouse kick. Very interesting, thought Jie Shan, and here he thought that the Hero only fought with punches. But it seemed that there was a first time for everything. Jie Shan let the Earthling strike him with the blow, the heel of the man's foot driving into his chest. Well, thought Jie Shan, he was certainly getting stronger. Not strong enough, of course, to make Jie Shan feel it.
Jie Shan laughed. "You're going to have to make me sweat a little before I go into my Super Saiyan state! Come at me with everything you've got!" He exclaimed as he recovered from the Hero's blow. In the blink of an eye, Jie Shan was already enacting his own attack: a swift jab of a punch aimed right for the Hero's chest, hoping to put some distance between the two fighters if the blow connected.

The two had finally begun their fight and the Hero decided to engage first, and even more surprising was that he didn’t try to punch him-- either way, he succeeded in delivering a blow which was more than good to him but it was nowhere enough. The Earthling grinned, nodding in agreement. “Yeah, it won’t be that easy but I can definitely pack a punch or two.” - he said before he was suddenly pushed back from the Saiyan’s punch. "Until he turns Super Saiyan at least.. I doubt I'd be capable of doing that much in that case." - he thought to himself.
The Hero didn’t even see that one coming, it happened so fast. “With.. everything I’ve got? Am I not doing that already?” - he mumbled under his breath, folding his arms on his chest. He glanced upwards, remembering their last spar before he closed his eyes and concentrated, and as soon as he did, a tense energy unleashed from his core. Somehow, just like last time, he couldn’t really feel anything but a breeze of wind.
[Last Resort (x3) Power Level: 21.696]
He stared at him with his usual blank expression, he was aware of his inner power but he couldn’t pick up on its source at all. “Is this better?” - he asked. “I guess this is what I did last time, or something like that. Not sure but I guess I learned to control this Ki. Took me a bit but it wasn’t really that difficult.” - he said.
A moment later, he clenched his fist and retreated his dominant side slightly before he threw his fist forward in a punch-like motion, releasing a good amount of his energy into an energy wave towards Jie. The end of the wave had the Hero’s very same shape, looking like as if it was about to punch Jie. "Serious Series: Serious Human Fist." - he said with an ordinary tone of voice.

Jie Shan's blow landed and the Hero was pushed back by the force of the blow. Well, thought Jie Shan, perhaps this match up is not fair at all. The distance in power between him and the human was just far too great. The human had no power like the Super Saiyan transformation to access, nothing to close the gap between the two fighters.
Or perhaps he did. Jie Shan felt a sudden increase of power in the human. What in the world, thought Jie Shan, was the human doing? And then he realized that he had felt this power once before. Back once when they had fought before. The human claimed to have mastered this power. Well, thought Jie Shan, good for the man. It might not be as good as a Super Saiyan state, but it was something. Perhaps it would make for a good fight.
And the Hero seemed to be keen on making it so. His attack came at Jie Shan, hard and fast. It was... the image of a fist? Speeding right towards him? What, thought Jie Shan, the Hell was that? He was going to find out. The fist crashed into him, straight into his face. Jie Shan winced as the attack crashed into him. That hurt, he thought, just a little bit.
"Not bad," said the halfblood, "How about giving me another shot of that?" He spread his arms wide, welcoming the next attack.
