Melonia was busy soaring through the skies above earth, heading back to the Southern Isles where they're ships had originally touch down. Both were supposed to still be there, though she hadn't bothered to check in with Jie Shan Lan Dian if that was the case or not. Dressed in her violet and pink battle armor, Melonia planned to immediately embark for a return journey back to her home world of Natto. There were a select few tasks she needed take care of, some more important than others. While earth was pleasant, she was needed back on the home front. The Saiyaness had every intention to return immediately, and luckily she had a contingency plan regarding their ships. One of the two vessels the Saiyan Alliance party had traveled aboard belonged to Jie Shan, the other to a different Saiyan whom Melonia had never met. She had neither the authority or the desire to use their vessels. But she had thought ahead, on the event she needed such a contingency.
As Melonia flew over the southern isle chains her eyes scanned the waters below, looking for the island her party had originally landed on. It didn't have much for distinguishing features, and she hoped it'd be easy to spot though. She had a good enough memory of the land, and knew she was in the immediate area just based on the formation of isles. "There they are..." Melonia said to herself as she spotted the two grey space craft sitting like twins on a rocky cliff along one of the larger island's northern shores. She immediately banked hard for the ground, landing in the clearing nearby and walking up to approach the vessels.
She set down what she was carrying under an arm. Enough food for the voyage, mostly processed earth rations. It was the best she could come up with on short notice, and the Saiyan Alliance soldier had no quarrels with sustaining herself on ration packs and MRE's, foul though they tended to be. Melonia ran her gloved hand along the smooth paneling on the side of Jie Shan's vessel as she walked towards the entrance ramp. A quick punch of the key code and the ship's main hatch swung open with a mechanical hiss. Melonia walked up inside, quickly sitting down in the cockpit of the vessel. Her fingers immediately pressed a button on the center console and the access hatch popped open on the rear of the vessel. Melonia then left the cockpit, closing the hatch behind her as she left.
Walking around to the back of the ship she sighed in relief as she looked at the contents of the ship's hold. Her own standard model space pod lay tied up in the hold of the larger craft. Gleaming in the summer sunlight from the last time she'd polished it, Melonia couldn't help but appreciate the agile craft now. She walked into the cargo hold, unclipping straps and freeing the metal sphere from it's confines. Rolling it out the ramp Melonia lifted moved to press a button, closing things up behind her. She moved to roll her own ship into its neutral position, seat facing upright as it sat in the grass not far from the two larger vessels.
Melonia pressed a button and the entrance hatch of her Saiyan space pod popped open, revealing the seat inside. It wasn't much, but for now it was hers. And it would get her back to Natto incredibly fast, given the amount of fine tuning she'd done to the craft. Melonia quickly loaded up the vessel's interior compartments with what little travel goods she'd packed, before giving the space pod a thorough inspection for any damages that might have occurred. Returning to Jie Shan's space craft she triple checked the larger vessel, finding no fault Melonia returned to her craft. Stepping inside the Saiyaness flicked on the communication's array, hailing the two ships seated no less than a hundred feet from her. "This is Private Melonia, recording flight log for Counselor Jie Shan Lian Dan. I am returning to Natto briefly aboard my own space pod. I will return immediately, Melonia out."
At that she shut off communications, flicking on switches as the space craft roared to life. Melonia checked power output and hull shielding, finding no fault with either. She switched on manual guidance, taking the control console levers as the small ship rocketed to power. It formed a small crater beneath itself as the space pod's engines roared to life, before taking off in a brilliant flash of blinding white light. Melonia was sky ward, star bound, and more importantly headed back for home. It didn't take long before her ship was burning through earth's atmosphere as it approached escape velocity. It's speed increasing until it punched through the atmosphere into the grim bleakness of space itself, rattling the entire time as Melonia fought the controls on the alien planet.
She gave the earth's moon one look, letting out a sigh. It was a lovely moon, she wished Natto's was as round or as large. At least they had several, it almost made up for it. With that Melonia punched in the coordinates for home, the space pod slowly swiveling as it turned to orient itself back towards the Saiyan Alliance home world. Then in a blinding flash of life the vessel zoomed off at thousands of miles a second, zooming at incredible speed to its programmed destination. Melonia reclined back in her seat, retracting the controls back into their default position. Her tail laid loosely across her lap as she looked out over the stars. Natto beckoned, though she still had plenty of business on earth. She'd be back soon enough, and this time with more supplies. Until then she had plenty of time to get some rest and do some serious mediation. It's not like there was much else to do when you're drifting through empty space.
