The Captain of the Cathedral of Arrogance sat at the helm of her massive space craft, seated on a towering seat of technological marvel. A steel throne of circuitry and computerization, the brain stem of the nerve center that was the command deck of the great warship. From here Melonia looked out over her cadre of officers, dozens need simply to maintain the functions necessary to keep the Cathedral safely traveling towards Earth. Engineering officers, logistics officers, communications officers, and many more all working within their sections of the bridge like the synapses of a brain as they relayed information both to each other and also around the ship itself to proper destinations. All parts working together for the good of a greater whole. There was a kind of hard artificial beauty to it all, like poetry in motion as orders were called out, double checked, and confirmed all before leaving this very room. Melonia cherished these moments, when all things in the world seemed to move in simple harmony as her crew bustled busily about their designated tasks in perfect union.
But, even still she grew restless, as if without purpose. Melonia blinked slightly faster, as if trying to bury her unspoken agitation at the situation at hand. Such a strange feeling, having utterly nothing to do. It made her more uncomfortable in her seat, and Melonia's piercing onyx hued eyes turned to the large viewing window that ran the full length of the fore of the ship. Meters thick tempered glass that blocked out solar radiation and diluted down the immeasurably bright light of an unshielded star to that of a visible level to the naked eye. Watching as celestial bodies slowly changed position as the huge craft rocketed by at speeds faster than that of light itself. It was all so...dreadfully dull without any external stimulation. As much as Melonia hated to admit it to herself, the ship had become boring without Bora's constant antics and ill conceived attempts to win her affection. Wherever he was on the ship Melonia sorely missed the lumbering oaf, though never in a million years would she openly admit that.
Melonia tapped on the communications panel of her command chair, bringing up a video display as she called for her assistant, the Saiyan warrior known simply as Jagai. In a few moments he responded, his face appearing on the video screen before the captain. Short cropped spiked hair pointed upwards, face stern though ever anxious when being addressed in person by the captain. He quickly drew his hand up into a salute, acknowledging the Captain's greeting. "Lance Corporal Jagai reporting in with Captain Melonia, what need to do you have of me ma'am?" The Aide-de-camp asked simply, still holding his salute. "Relax Jagai, I'm in a good mood today... at ease soldier." Melonia said with a sultry sweetness to her tone, eyes half closed as a wry smile crossed her fair face. "If it was more serious I wouldn't be contacting you from the bridge, I'd be using my scouter while I made my way down the halls." The hair on Jagai's back went on edge at her words, the Captain rarely addressed him in such a matter. Something was up her violet sleeves, and he was unsure if it would bode ill for him in the immediate future.
"Yes Captain, of course. Forgive me for not realizing that immediately. I wasn't thinking clearly, I'm just in the middle of some paper work. There's been no end to it since Bora's last...incident, down in the mess hall." The aid acknowledged with a tired look in his eyes, weary from long nights with little sleep. His slender frame not packed with muscle in the traditional sense of a Saiyan warrior. He was of a more bookish physique, one Melonia suspected was partially due to an utter lack of time to train. "That's unfortunate to hear. I'll do you a favor though, transfer everything you're working on to my desk and I'll get to it personally this evening. You'll be reprieved from you usual duties for the remainder of the solar day. Understood soldier?" Jagai's expression turned to a mixture of bewilderment and glee, and the unspoken urge to cry out in elation rose out within him. He succeeded in only giving a short nod in recognition of his captain's command. Though the look of happiness was quite clear in his eyes.
A silence hung in the air for a moment as Melonia waited for reply. Her grin widened slightly knowing such a simple order had brought so much joy to her companion, if only for the day. Sure she'd be up late making up for the unattended forms now piling on her desk, but it was well worth giving the overworked assistant a few hours of leisure on such a dull day. "Thank you Captain." Jagai spoke as he hardly contained his enthusiasm. "I won't forget this, I have never time off, not since I was first made a scribe four years ag---" Melonia raised a hand slowly to cut Jagai off, remaining deathly silent as her hand remained in the air. "Silence Jagai, I understand your enthusiasm, and I suggest you keep it bottled up for later. I want you on the bridge in five minutes, I've got something fun for us planned for today." Melonia chuckled under her breath as she watched that worried look return to her aid's young face. He gulped almost audibly and gave the slightest of nods. "Yes Captain, I'll be there at once."
At that Melonia flicked off the monitor, still chuckling slightly to herself as she shook her head softly. Lengthy ponytail rustling at her side from the motion of her head. The beautiful Saiyaness lifted herself up slowly from her seat, her aura flaring ever so slightly as she flexed the muscles in her arms and felt her legs adjust to standing after so many damned hours sitting motionless in that chair. Even a tenth of her power was as strong as most of these officers, and in truth all it did was remind the Saiyaness she had no appropriate sparring partner here on the ship. Melonia walked forward slowly, down the ranks of the center isle of her bridge. Not a word was uttered, and even her breathing was silent. Few of her officers looked up to acknowledge her, those that did shot their glances back down to their work to keep from drawing her ire. Pearl white boots clicking softly against metallic floors with each graceful step as long toned legs carried her curvaceous frame.
Melonia came to stand before the enormous viewing window, inhaling deeply as she gazed out over the void itself. It was quite the sight, if nothing else. The fact a species could even create engines to propel their vessels across the cosmos itself was nothing short of utterly amazing. It took a lot of clarity to stop and admire the simple elegance of it all in the grand scheme of things. Melonia closed her eyes and felt through the hundreds of Ki signatures in the immediate vicinity of the ship. Some flared in aggression, perhaps an argument or a sparring match. Others strained in exertion, down in one of the many gyms and other such training facilities. A few were utterly still, suppressed down to a minimum, the result of those clearly asleep. And a fair final few were busily moving throughout the corridors of the vessel, it was those that Melonia concerned herself with. Probing through each Ki signature like a detective looking through his crime dossiers, Melonia eventually picked up on the one she desired. The soft blue Ki of her lovable assistant Jagai, steadily making his way for the helm of the vessel.
The large doors to the bridge slid open with a mechanical suction releasing, and one scrappy Saiyan came trudging in, data pad clutched under his arm and a scouter on his head. Jagai moved swiftly towards his captain, as she stood silently at the head of her ship. Uncertain what she had in store for him the aid was growing more worried by the moment. Even for her the behavior was somewhat out of character, though with Saiyan women it always seemed hard to tell what was truly going on in their heads. Jagai drew close, and adjusted his posture as he stood rigid beside Melonia, looking to her unmoving gaze before turning to look out at the void of space alongside her. "It's beautiful isn't it Jagai?" Melonia said softly, not so much as moving a muscle. "It is Captain." Jagai replied immediately, not actually taking in her appreciation of space, merely wanting to appease his captain by stating the correct response. "Of course it is my friend, but you know what else it is?" Melonia asked simply, shifting slightly in her posture, though not losing a hint of her militant discipline.
"Infinite...Captain?" Jagai replied sheepishly, wincing internally when he saw a lack of facial cues indicating he'd responded as desired. Melonia turned swiftly on the balls of her feet, cold black eyes meeting his for a fraction of a second as she spun one hundred and eighty degrees before beginning to walk swiftly off. "No Jagai, although you are correct. Space is boring, dreadfully so today it would seem. Come, we're spending your free time in a more productive way than talking about a dark matter filled void." By the time Jagai had even realized what had transpired the Captain was already several steps away from him, moving steadily towards the door and showing no signs of slowing her pace. His only response was to walk briskly, moving steadily as he bridged the gap between the two. "What do you mean Captain? Where are we going? You're not going to go blow up more asteroids again are you? We could feel it halfway through the ship the last time you did that."
Melonia chuckled again, shaking her head softly. "As much fun as that would be, I'm in no mood for that today. No my dear Jagai, I've got something a little less hands on in mind. I feel like touring the training facilities, inspecting the recruits." There was a slight pause in her words, and her head tilted slightly to get a better view of her companion as she finished. "See how many it takes to defeat you in combat..." Jagai jolted upright at the words, turning to plead with the captain using his eyes. His lip trembled slightly as he fought to find the right words. "Captain...You can't be serious can you? What if I don't want to fight cadets?" Melonia stopped dead in her tracks, turning and taking a step towards Jagai. Her massive bust, pressed beneath the elastic polymer that made up her durable breastplate, nearly pressing against her assistant's chest she stood so close. Jagai instinctively took a step back, face visibly worried about what he'd just said.
"Then that would be a direct refusal to follow a commanding officer's orders, which is an act of insubordination. You know the punishment for insubordination I trust, you are after all, well versed in Nattoan military doctrine, are you not?" Jagai nodded slightly, not finding the words to speak. "Good, because then you will thank me for being more merciful." Melonia grinned with a hint of maliciousness, eyes wicked with glee. "If you don't want to see how many cadets you can handle at once, you can see how long you last against me instead." Gloved hands pressed together, knuckled cracking audibly as Melonia gazed at her aid, envisioning her fists driving hard into his soft face. "And I'm far less merciful when it comes to my sparring partners. Saiyan Zenkai and all that, beating you within an inch of your life only makes you stronger, you know how our biology is..." Melonia's words trailed off as she waited for an answer, eyes not moving as they remained locked onto Jagai's now fast growing terrified gaze.
"Yes of course Captain, I understand everything crystal clear." Jagai said in as close to a tone as begging as he could manage with dignity. "I'll fight the cadets, since that is your command. I apologize profusely for questioning your orders. You are the Captain, I am your aide-de-camp, I understand that clearly and I won't challenge the chain of command again." The assistant bowed low, not raising back up from his stance under Melonia began to speak. "Good, now rise. I can't have you standing like that all day. Come Jagai, we have a lot of ground to cover between here and the middle decks. I feel like giving the cadets a proper senior officer's surprise inspection. I can't wait to see the look of fear in their eyes, I hope it's as good as yours." Melonia laughed out loud, beginning to walk back down the long corridor as Jagai let out a loud sigh and fell into step following along. "Yes Captain." He said meekly, silently praying the worst had already passed.
The duo steadily made their way through the labyrinthine interior of the massive space craft, moving through the central corridors to the large access lifts that hauled men and material from one deck to the next. Moving throughout the Cathedral of Arrogance was more akin to navigating a very densely designed urban center than it was navigating a single space ship, entire wings of the superstructure dedicated to specific tasks. From dining, to living accommodations, to training and exercise, to engineering and life support the ship was a flying city that housed within it thousands of Saiyan soldiers all working like cells in the bloodstream of some great cosmic beast. After a solid ten minutes of leisurely walking, the two came to the starboard training centers, where some of the lowest ranking soldiers on the vessel trained under the diligent eyes of their superior officers. Proud men and women who were little more than green recruits, their hearts filled more with patriotic courage than actual skill in combat. It was their instructors' job to break them in mind, body, and spirit. Grinding down their will and remolding them into perfect soldiers of the Alliance, cunning, ruthless, capable warriors who would gladly charge into the gates of Hell itself if they were so commanded too.
Melonia stepped into the facility, and immediately the half dozen Saiyans in the immediate vicinity saluted. The Saiyan Captain smirked, waving them at ease before any of the higher ranked soldiers noticed. Stepping forward to stand towards the center of a long row of gym lockers, Melonia looked out over the facility. Exercise on an industrial scale, with hundreds of pieces of equipment of all makes and models, rated for Saiyans in excess of Power Levels of 50,000 or so. Melonia would destroy most of the machinery present if she put serious effort into it, which was why the more powerful Saiyans trained exclusively under high gravity conditions within one of the vessel's several gravity chambers. All across the gym Saiyans of all shapes and sizes worked tirelessly at their own routines and regiments. Everything from intense weightlifting to cardio and endurance exercises. This interested Melonia only half as much as the sparring rings towards the rear of the gym. There most of the action inevitably took place, as small crowds of exhausted soldiers crowded around to watch their comrades beat the absolute tar out of each other. Betting rings were common, and command did nothing to discourage it. Violent scuffles and full scale brawls were not uncommon, though so long no Ki blasts were employed and nothing was seriously damaged disciplinary action was rarely taken. However, those who did otherwise suffered the absolute wrath of their superior officers, and Melonia was as harsh as she was fair.
As the pair came to stand towards the center of the facility, amidst the myriad of activity going on all about them Melonia decided to make her presence known. She clenched her fists and called up her Ki, aura flaring with violent hued Ki as it began to shake the very room itself. Lifting bits of trash and causing the lights to flicker as the magnitude of her power could be felt throughout much of the ship, eclipsing even the reactors in energy output for those brief but terrible moments to behold. Melonia snorted sharply out her nose as she once more suppressed her power, rolling her head and cracking her neck. "Commander on deck!" Jagai shouted as all eyes in the room turned on them. "Whoever's in charge of this lot step forward at once, the Captain requests an audience with you. And for the rest of you, get back to training effective immediately." There was a brief moment of silence before it snapped that obeying Jagai's words was in their best interest, and begrudgingly the majority of the soldiers returned to their work. Melonia merely folded her arms across her generous chest, giving off an authoritative air as she stood and waited for whoever would emerge to answer her aid's command.
The training facility seemed to be louder than ever, though this was simply because it was the one day of the month where a recruit could take out their aggression on their commanding officers. Today was the day where the very trainers themselves would be pit against their own recruits in hand to hand combat. The rules of which where quite strict, aside from no energy blasts the recruits were forced to bring their savagery down by the newly implemented laws forbidding biting, gouging of the eyes and shots to the groin. They were low class soldiers mostly, each of which had just as much experience surviving with the use of their own two hands as the man or woman they stood beside. With that feral attitude, each of them had to be systematically broken down and taught the basics of how to bring an enemy down.
A ring of exhausted recruits had formed around the sparring mat to the far left side of the training facility, all of them yelling out instructions and calling out moves. Two warriors fought in the center, a Saiyaness with dark blue hair and a Saiyan who was as big as he was slow. The pair rolled about on the mat, throwing everything ranging from a punch all the way to a headbutt in order to finish their enemy off. The Saiyaness let out a feral growl as she was caught in a bear hug, the lumbering Saiyan who held her in place laughing victoriously. His grip only seemed to tighten and constrict but this only served to fuel the Saiyaness. With a snarl, she arched her head back and slammed her forehead into the Saiyan's nose, a sickening crack making itself known as he recoiled in shock. A twin trail of crimson leaked from his nostrils as the Saiyaness continued on with the momentum, sliding low before sweeping the Saiyan off of his feet with a double leg take down.
From here, she mounted the larger male, his cumbersome size and weight working against him as he could not push his opponent off. The Saiyaness continued to rain down hook after hook, each of her punches making contact with her opponents' face and torso as he did his best to cover up. The crowd roared inn excitement as her brutal offensive style pummeled her opponent into submission, the fight was stopped by her overwhelming strikes. She would let out an exhausted sigh, sitting up from the mounted position and letting her head hang forward as the crowd clamored in excitement. As if responding to their cheers, she lifted both fists into the air before standing up over her defeated opponent and having her hand raised by one of the trainers. "Here's the winner, Corporal Cucu!" The Saiyaness trainer had been challenged by one of her more defiant recruits and she accepted without hesitation. She had won with the utmost ferocity and even went as far as to lower her power level in order to match her opponent.
The woman let a fanged grin move across her lips as she was escorted to a nearby bench by the other corporals, she was covered in cuts, bruises and blood but this would only make her and her recruit all the more powerful. As the next match was about to commence, a powerful shock-wave hit everyone in the room, the glass windows to the gravity chamber shook violently in response. All recruits paused what they were doing and turned to face the Captain and the Captain's aide. He announced that the head Corporal of the training facility make themselves known and that all others should return to their business, much to the dismay of the now more cautious recruits. Seated on a bench against the opposing wall of the training facility, Enel opened his eyes and rose to his feet, standing to his nearly 7 foot tall height as he moved towards Melonia and Jagai. Unlike the other Saiyans, Enel was not dressed in the typical Saiyan gear, instead he brandished a set of Earth clothes with the Saiyan shoulder protectors on top. The massive mountain of a man stopped about a foot or so from Melonia, looking down to the Captain with his trademark expressionless glare.
Raising his massive right arm, Enel would preform the salute, his stance changing to one that was more upright and orderly as he addressed the head of the ship. "Captain. Master Corporal Enel." He would introduce himself as he addressed the Saiyaness before him. Enel's massive frame was large enough to encompass both Melonia and Jagai as he held his salute in place. Unlike the other trainers, he didn't seem to be getting in on the sparring, though judging by his figure, it was a possibility that he was a tad too imposing for the recruits. After a moment, Enel would speak, his low voice boomed with a sort of authority as he spoke, though that, along with his combative ability were exactly why he was chosen to work aboard the Cathedral of Arrogance. "You have need of me Captain, what can I do for you?" Enel's unwavering loyalty was a teaching that had been passed down the family line. Like his father and brothers before him, Enel continued to serve the nobility and the Saiyan military in whatever ways they could, with such a prestigious family legacy, it would be a dishonor to not continue it.
Some of the recruits turned their head as they watched the much larger Saiyan address the Captain, as if they were truly questioning her power. Of course none of them had the gall to say something like that out loud, they were recruits after all and they would no doubt learn their place on the ship in time. Enel's gaze would shift from Melonia, to straight ahead, this was a sign that he knew it was more respectful to avoid eye contact unless stated otherwise by his commanding officer.
Melonia stood arms folded as she waited for all throughout the facility to process her aid's orders. They were spoken with the Captain's authority, sometimes it made more of an impact when one deigned to speak, allowing their subordinate officer to speak on their behalf. Reluctantly a fair number of cadets began to shuffle back to their tasks. A new round of sparring began off on the sparring ring, and the soft hum of the gravity chamber could once again be heard as much as felt throughout the room. Melonia's eyes slowly shifted around her field of vision as she felt through the Ki signatures of everyone in proximity, feeling through each of them in turn. The vast majority of the soldiers here were young and untrained, their Ki flaring as they trained themselves physically. It was the ones who had actively learned to suppress it that she took keen interest in. Those were the ones with the sheer training or natural ability to learn more advanced Ki manipulation techniques.
Soon enough though, her search found a way to answer itself, as the hulking form a Saiyan rose from the back of the room. Massive in both height and broadness, Melonia couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at his physical stature. "My my... he's quite the specimen isn't he Jagai?" The curvaceous Saiyaness mused aloud to her aid, remaining motionless as her eyes fixed on the man who answered her call. "He really is..." Jagai replied, remaining rooted in place at his commander's side. Dressed in strange garb that seemed more at home among the earthlings than the traditional battle armor the vast majority of the Saiyan soldiers wore, he certainly was peculiar, at least at a cursory glance. As he drew close the warrior loomed over Melonia, having over a foot over height advantage on the woman of self admittedly only modest stature. His gaze blank and unfeeling, eyes giving off a thousand yard stare. Good, Melonia mused to herself, soldiers were better when they lacked an ounce of apathy. Their job was to follow orders, no matter how cruel or destructive they may be. Empathy had no place on the battlefield, it would only lead to the death of comrades or jeopardize the prospect of victory.
The towering soldier drew fast into a salute, perfectly forming the appropriate gesture with immaculate precision. This was a man who had, at dozens of points in his lifespan, been called out or beaten for even the slightest lapse in proper form during a salute. Not like the scared recruits that could barely hold proper salutes if their very lives depended on it, too busy cowering to keep their limbs locked and their hands motionless. Melonia waved off his gesture, already in a more relaxed mood today than protocol called for. "At ease soldier, though you have my commendations so far." Melonia sized up this Enel, eyes wandering from his boots to his brow as she got an appreciation for just how big he truly was. It was almost an optical illusion, he hadn't seemed that imposing from afar, but up close it was actually impressive. "Hmmm..." She mused, a white gloved right hand moving to rub at her delicate chin. "Impressive, most impressive. First Bora...now you Master Corporal." As she spoke Melonia lifted herself slowly upwards, hovering until she stood at eye level, feet more than a foot off the gym floor. "They certainly do grow them big these days. What on Natto are they feeding you men?"
The curvaceous captain spoke facetiously, it was not uncommon for a Saiyan male to reach heights upwards of seven foot. The sexual dimorphism in their species was rather pronounced when it came to height. Women very rarely reached even six foot tall, with the vast majority closer to Melonia's wheelhouse at a respectable five foot six inches tall. Generally speaking their builds were more lithe and agile, Melonia liked to use the word svelte to describe Saiyan women to other species. Men however easily ran the gauntlet on body shapes. From broad to tall, modest to massive, with more variance than females had by an order of magnitude. It seemed Melonia just had good odds in picking towering Saiyan men to allow into her life. She snapped out of her day dreaming in a moment, casting aside idle thoughts on Saiyan biology to return to the conversation before herself.
Melonia scoffed as the soldier before her averted his gaze, looking beyond her as if to show submission. She had no such time for such things, not on her day of leisure. "You can forgo protocol Enel, I'm here to inspect your conduct with superior officers, though I would give you an exemplar rating based on your current performance." Melonia lowered herself back to the floor, landing with a soft click of her boots as they contacted the padded flooring of the training facilities. "What I have need of you for is much more fun, I'm here to inspect the fresh meat. I want to see how the cadets are doing. See if my esteemed officers are keeping the troops to my considerable standards." Melonia paused, a grin crossing her face as a worried expression grew from her aid's own. "And... my poor aide-de-camp is far too bookish for his own good. I should like to see how many of your cadets he can handle at once. It'll be quite the entertainment I'm sure, enlisted loves nothing more than the thought of hitting an officer square in the face. Maybe I'll even jump in the ring myself if I feel like it, remind you how a Saiyan Elite truly fights."
There was a building tension in the air, and Melonia's grin remained smug as ever, reveling in the prospect of watching a one sided, though clean fight. Jagai needed to grow himself a damn backbone, she imagined his drill instructor had either been a cravenous fool, a total bumbling oaf, or taken out his spine and whipped the poor boy so damn hard with it he never recovered. Like most things in life, a proper beating would likely correct the issue. Saiyans lived for violence, for battle and combat. War was their bloodline after all, it flowed through them as effortlessly as they took to the martial arts. He need only reawaken the Oozaru the dwelled deep within himself to rekindle that forgotten warrior's spirit. And if he didn't, Melonia would see him beaten until the point his Zenkai compensated for such a glaring weakness of character. But mostly, she just wanted to have some "aggressive fun" this afternoon.
Enel stood in place as Captain Melonia gave her first impressions of the Master Corporal. She commented on his figure and the way he carried himself in place of a commanding officer, the proper way to greet them had been beaten into him since he was a boy. The captain ascended from the ground, now eye level with the large Saiyan who averted his gaze until Melonia commented on how he was free to ease up. Enel lowered his saluting hand down and listened to what the Captain had to say, it appeared that she had elected that her aide join in on the fun of today's sparring. Enel looked down to Jagai, inspecting the Captain's Aide before he would turn and let out an ear piercing whistle that rung throughout the entire training facility. Like a pack of hunting dogs, each and every recruit dropped whatever it was they were doing and assumed a standing salute as Enel walked out forward to the center of the room.
"Recruits we have a special treat for you today. It seems Lance Corporal Jagai has been elected to join in on our special day of sparring. Do we have any volunteers that would care to remind him what it's like to be a Saiyan?" A small crowd let out a small laugh as the woman who had just won a vicious brawl raised her hand again, holding an ice pack against her bruised cheek. Enel turned, addressing the Corporal before shaking his head. "Corporal Cucu, we know you can do battle until every last bone in your body has been broken but I know you're not in top condition. Work on that zenkai and once you've recovered, you might be elected for another scrap." She would lower her hand, letting out a playful sigh as she leaned back against her seat, tending to her wounds. The Saiyans around her let out another quiet chuckle as they turned their attention back to Enel, Jagai and Captain Melonia.
"Come on now. This is an opportunity to work out your stress and not many can strike the Captain's aide and be waved off, it's a once in a lifetime opportunity." Enel's low voice boomed as he was addressing his recruits, there was not a single person inside the training facility who could not hear him. A few recruits looked at one another unsure, though it seemed that Enel speaking about how they would not get in trouble for doing this eased their tension and in a moment's notice, a few hands rose up. "Excellent. Private Ticho, Private Egpla and Khaliflo, step forward and make yourselves known." A few Saiyans stepped out from the crowd, a large man standing at just over 6 feet tall with long black hair reaching mid way down his back, a Saiyaness with a tanned complexion, waist length dark brown hair and golden eyes and finally a skinny looking male with dark brown hair that was short cut and spiked up. All of them appeared before Enel and saluted, as Enel returned the salute and stepped to the side as he turned back and addressed both Jagai and Melonia.
"Lance Corporal, these recruits have so graciously offered to help you with your training. In order, they are Private Ticho, Private Egpla and Private Khaliflo. Each have volunteered as soldiers on Captain Melonia's ship and trained on Natto for a minimum of 3 months. Under myself and the other Corporals, they have been taught basic and apprentice level combat techniques." Enel looked back to the recruits who were just oozing with confidence as they looked to their opponent, they were very much Saiyan in the way they carried themselves and of course, they wanted to impress the Captain as much as they could to gain favor. "I trust you have gone over the rules of the spar recruits? For those that may not, there is no biting, no ki blasts or waves, no groin shots, no gouging of the eyes and no use of equipment. All combatants will step onto the mat with minimal equipment and may use all parts of their body. Tail grabbing is not acceptable, be sure to have it wrapped around your waist." Enel would turn back to Jagai and motioned to the left, there was an empty equipment locker that the higher rank corporals could use to store their armor and such before battle.
"Injury is inevitable but it is not frowned upon. A Saiyan knows only struggle and battle and injury is the process by which we grow as fearsome fighters. Go all out in this battle and do not hold back, your opponent will not have a single ounce of empathy for you." Enel was not sure how well versed Jagai was with sparring after serving as the Captain's aide for so long, so he thought it would be beneficial for Jagai to hear what he was stepping into. "Now that the formalities are out of the way, which of the recruits would you like to spar against? Each has had the same amount of training as the other and each has the killer instinct that has been instilled within our lineage." The recruits each gave a dark and somewhat intimidating smirk as they eyed Jagai, recruit Egpla gave a playful wink as she cracked both sets of knuckles in her fists. She seemed to take a liking to Jagai though of course, she would not hold back her punches despite thinking he was somewhat cute. "Or perhaps, the choice of opponent should be given to Captain Melonia? I'm sure your recruits would like to impress you with what they have learned over their training."
Master Corporal Enel looked to Captain Melonia as well, motioning to the trio of self-volunteered combatants.
Melonia cocked an eyebrow as Enel let out a short whistle, the full compliment of soldiers in the room soon standing at attention even after moments ago returning to their work as if nothing had happened. The Captain admired their discipline, it was staggering the difference between these well coordinated soldiers and the carefree and often childish antics of others...like Bora. The thought of him had Melonia mentally scowling, though she did her best to hide any change of expression. The Saiyan beauty turned her head slowly, looking around the room at the men and women standing rigid at attention. Many of them lacked good posture, but they did earn points for diligence and responsiveness. Ultimately they were just recruits, so she could only fault them so much. "They appear to be quite fast on the draw to attention there Enel, bravo on that regard." Melonia stated simply, trying to withhold too much praise. "Some of them are slouching through, and were they my recruits representing me, I'd have them running laps around the ship's outer deck by now out of shame at their efforts." Melonia said as she tilted her head towards a pair of sloppy form recruits, clearly thinking they could get away with anything less than perfect posture just because they were at the back of the room.
The room was deathly silent as Enel opened his mouth to speak, addressing the crowd of soldiers as her issued Melonia's challenge to those in attendance. Despite the taunting Jagai managed to hold his head high, even though he was bookish and avoided conflict like a fish avoids land, he still had his Saiyan pride. Nothing could take that, Melonia had seen Saiyans have their limbs ripped off and still manage to maintain a determined glare as they bled out in the field. As Enel called forth volunteers one of the corporals immediately tossed up her hand, the woman from before who had only a minute ago been locked in a spar of her own. The Master Corporal quickly dismissed her as a possible candidate, much to Melonia's unspoken relief. Despite his appearances Jagai was far stronger than a wounded recruit, he'd have broken the poor woman like a twig in under a minute of serious combat. Assuming of course he didn't simply hold back and drag out the fight to make it seems evenly matched. He was good about suppressing his power level to avoid getting heaped against more difficult foes, and even now was doing so. Melonia wondered how many others in the room were aware of this fact. She had no intention to ruin the surprise herself, let the recruits figure that out on their own accord.
Laughter broke out for a few moments as the injured Saiyaness returned to her seat, Enel called out again for more volunteers in his deep voice, authoritative tone echoing through the room with all the volume a good drill instructor should posses. Cautious glances emerged from the crowd, as if perhaps this was all some kind of cruel game. A test to see how willing they were to strike out at a superior officer. Though when Enel set their fears to rest a few takers finally shot their hands up in eager acceptance of the challenge. Three, to be precise, a disappointingly low number given the hundred or so total Saiyans gathered around in the room. No matter, even one was better than nothing. Melonia didn't want to have to fight him herself, even in her weighted apparel she was more than a match for several Jagai's put together. The trio of warriors emerged to stand before Enel, they certainly looked a motley crew. A quick salute as unspoken acknowledgement of the challenge was all Enel had needed, and the warrior was soon returning to Melonia's presence to speak on his soldiers' behalf.
Melonia sized up the three as Enel spoke aloud the rules of engagement. The Saiyan Alliance used the same basic setting of sparring rules for all military training at the lower echelons. Once soldiers graduated to the higher ranks some of the restrictions were lifted, to better simulate the rigors of an actual combat environment. A few key rules always remained in place however, chiefly no going for the tail and no severing of limbs. The Saiyan Alliance could undo both injuries, but it was exceedingly expensive and a monumental drain on resources and medical technology using such powerful medical machines for mere training injuries. As to the recruits, they were about what she had expected. Brash, prideful, likely arrogant, and more than ready to try and pummel the ever loving snot out of someone they perceived as a weakling promoted over them. It'd be an amusing fight, even if it was going to be a one sided one.
Jagai however, continued to stare down his opponents, the fire slowly returning to his eyes. He nodded curtly as Enel explained where the lockers were, glancing over to the racks of storage compartments. "Yes of course Instructor Enel." The Saiyan scribe stated quickly, giving a short bow before stepping lively towards the locker. He quickly went about lifting off his battle armor, storing the garment on a hangar within the locker. His gloves soon joined, as did his scouter and data pad. The Saiyan was left only wearing his cobalt hued under layer, boots, and a sash he'd retrieved to tie around his hair. Cinching it tight around his forehead the Saiyan returned, looking markedly more determined than before. Melonia in the meanwhile had determined each of the three recruits was somewhere between a baseline of one thousand and an upper maximum of fifteen hundred power level, which was expected for one with one a few months of proper training under their belt. "You three are greener than the grass that grows on Earth, aren't you?" The Captain asked, turning a few smiles into angry grimaces. She grinned, blowing the trio a kiss and turning to return to speak to Enel. "Good luck, you'll need it." The Saiyaness said at a level not far above a whisper, nervous glances emerged through the crowd at the callousness of her words. Melonia found it humorous indeed, her own power had been similarly in that wheelhouse around that time, though Melonia has joined at a far younger age, and this had received more total training than comparable Saiyans.
Jagau stood patiently as he waited for Enel to finish the last of his rules. Melonia joined him as the Master Corporal inquired on which of his three opponents he'd face. Jagai placed a hand to his chin, tilting his head as he thought on the answer. "Well... it's technically the Captain's decision. I had my own suggestions but I'd like to run it over with her, because she is very much my superior officer." Jagai turned to address his captain, speaking loud enough the crowd gathered could hear him. "So, Captain Melonia, which ones should I f--" "All three." There was a pause before Jagai loudly explained "WHAT!? Captain please don't be serious. What if I don't want to fight all three?" Melonia turned, laughing with cruel glee at she leaned in close to stare her aid dead in the eye. "Then you shouldn't have asked my opinion. You knew exactly what I was going to say. You were just afraid at what would happen if you didn't let me get my input." Jagai's expression turned glum, and he averted his eyes out of shame. "You're right Captain, I knew it'd be all three either way. You just love watching me suffer don't you?"
Melonia shook her head at the comment, rolling her eyes. "No Jagai I don't, I take joy in watching you struggle, which is vastly different from suffering. When you struggle you can rise above a challenge to overcome it. When you suffer you are experiencing needless anguish that you can do nothing to avoid. Understood?" Jagai nodded slowly, his eyes returning to meet the Captain's. "Yes ma'am, I understand completely. But in that case, I wish I had a fourth recruit to fight!" Melonia smiled gleefully, feeling Jagai relinquish his suppression on his own Ki. "Good, then cut loose. I'm tired of you suppressing your power level like I'm not going to notice." What few likely realized, is that while bookish and disliking of combat, Jagai was in no shape or form actually a weakling. Though he was quite strong comparative to the Saiyans in this room, he was well below anyone in his own respective class. Three recruits that barely knew how to focus their Ki were going to be nothing for a member of the Saiyan Officer's corps. Jagai was at best a tenth of Melonia's strength, but even that put dangerously close to a power level of seven thousand when he truly cut lose. The fight would not be a long one, though Melonia expected the recruits to get at least a few hits in.
Jagai nodded at the Captain's command, clenching his fists and letting out an angry cry of exertion as he forced up his suppressed Ki, his aura pulsing with soft blue energy as he drew out his full inner strength. Though still weaker than the brief pulse of power Melonia had displayed when they entered, it was an order of magnitude above what the recruits could output. The warrior grinned, mimicking his opponent's earlier actions as he cracked both sets of knuckles. His body was lean, but his musculature was clearly defined against his armor's fabric under layer. "Alright Instructor Enel, I think I'm ready now. I'm a bit rusty though, so I guess that counts as a disadvantage." Melonia's gaze turned to the towering Saiyan instructor, and she gave a slight shrug. "I figured this was more hands on for him than a punching bag and sets of crunches. It was either fight the recruits or I see if he could tackle you himself. I went with the simpler option, what can I say."
Jagai's allowed his suppressed power to roar out loudly for his opponents to see. The ki aura he produced was impressive, he was certainly no low class warrior, judging from his impressive strength, Jagai was on par with the Royal Guards, just under nobility. The three Saiyan recruits were pushed back from their standing positions as Jagai allowed his energy to amass, the force of which was enough to send any greenhorn running. Both Captain Melonia and Master Corporal Enel stood in place, they were rather unfazed though Enel was quite impressed at the power the Captain's Aide was exerting, any worry he had of the battle being a massacre was extinguished. "Well done Lance Corporal. Please do not break my recruits too badly." Enel stated as he offered to lead both the Lance Corporal and Captain to the large sparring mats over at the corner of the room. The way he said it, it was almost a joking tone but with that serious expression on his face, one could never be too sure.
The three recruits were visibly shaken but their pride did not allow them to cower away from this challenge, the recruits swallowed their fear and continued on behind Enel. The large Saiyan parted the crowd as he moved through them and stepped in the center of the ring, allowing all recruits to step in and ready themselves. "Recruits, ready up. You have a minute to warm up and prepare yourselves mentally. Lance Corporal, I give you the same amount of time, do what you need to in order to ready up." Enel would move to the front of the crowd, asking a few spectators to step back before approaching Captain Melonia. "Captain, feel free to sit up front and watch should you grow weary of simply standing." Enel continued on back to the mat where he would stand between the three hungry recruits and the lone Lance Corporal, this battle was looking more and more one sided. "Combatants, at the ready." Enel would state loudly as the three recruits had finished their short warm up of stretches and tensing up/relaxing exercises.
On his command, the three Saiyans would line up at the opposing end of the mat, each of them visibly nervous at the sight of Jagai's hidden power level. "You are Saiyans. Know no fear, know only battle!" Enel called out, as if trying to rally the confidence of his recruits and get them back into the battle, a wounded mindset would only hinder them more, this was a test of overcoming fear. "On the ready!" Enel announced, raising his right arm up as he stood in the center of the mat, the battle was about to begin and both sides were set to go all out. "Begin!" The crowd of Saiyans yelled out, they were watching their peers go up against such a powerful force so of course they were backing up their comrades. Still, the battle seemed to already be determined by the difference in strength, Jagai was more then twice as powerful as all of the recruits put together and despite his appearance, he had already been through this training some time ago. As the start of the battle commenced, all three Saiyan recruits would lunge forward in an attempt to overwhelm Jagai with sheer numbers.
One leaped high into the air in order to come down with an over head axe kick, the others darted to opposing sides and would charge in from sharp angles, attempting to catch Jagai with kicks to the leg and midsection from opposing sides. They knew that their chances were better fighting together as a unit but even then, the gap in power was almost insurmountable, they really had no other option but to attack at one. It also seemed that they knew they had to go full on offense from the start, they did not want to give Jagai any room to breath or to get his rhythm down. Enel took a step back and watched closely at the recruits, the idea was a good one but their lack of skill and power was holding them back from being anywhere near as effective as they could be. Jagai would have to try but against the three recruits, even Enel knew he wasn't going to need to go all out, he might just do it to show some dominance as Lance Corporal and Captain's Aide. The mat and crowd could feel the intensity of all 4 fighters and their aura's all of them going ballistic as they wanted to see an all out scrap.
Melonia chuckled to herself as Jagai attempted to be imposing with his unsuppressed Ki. His aura was luminous, that much was to be sure, but it was but a candle compared to her own. Still, it seemed to impress most of the recruits, who had never faced anyone at this kind of level on their own terms. The exception being their instructors, who were known to keep their true abilities suppressed at almost all times. Melonia remained utterly rooted, unmoving as she reached out for her tail, idly grooming the appendage as she watched the spectacle. Enel seemed similarly unaffected, not ceding an inch of grown to Jagai's power. "They won't be broken, just banged up." The aide said calmly as he rolled his arms in his shoulders and flared his aura outwards in another burst of energy. Following alongside the Master Corporal both the Captain and her aid walked slowly along towards the sparring grounds where the padded mats of the floor were the only thing protecting an unconscious face from tasting the ground.
It was clear the trio of recruits was not going to let a superior adversary diminish their spirits. Each retained their fearsome grin, even if their earlier overconfidence was already shattered down into merely cautious optimism. Melonia laughed out load, taking great mirth out of watching recruits pretend not to know fear. "You're a very bold lot, bold, but stupid. Part of being a successful warrior is knowing when to tuck your tail between your legs and flee. Good soldiers live to fight another day, and only a fool fails to realize that Zenkai doesn't apply if you're dead." Melonia spoke with teasing seriousness, using the moment as a teachable lesson for those within the training facility. A crowd of onlookers was fast gathering around the ring, some standing tall above the others, though a few stood on the shoulders of their taller companions to look over the crowd. The smartest though, simply flew and hovered in midair or hanging from the damned rafters for a bunch of monkeys. It looked ridiculous, though it certainly was an effective way to get a view. Some things never change, Melonia mused to herself, taking up her position ring side.
"A generous offer Enel, but the Captain stands. I'm no pampered princess that needs a throne to sit on. I've been sitting in my damn command chair on the bridge all morning watching the same empty blackness of space go buy. You have no idea how much more relieving it is to be out and about among the grunts, stretching my legs." Melonia said sternly, noting that even though the crowd had gathered around her to watch the upcoming match the cadets were giving her a wide birth. "Oh I see how it is men, I can promise you that your Captain doesn't bite..." The crowd slowly began to shuffle in closer, seemingly at ease. "Much." At that they stopped shuffling immediately, daring to tread exactly zero inches closer to where Melonia stood for fear of risking what she actually meant by 'bite.' Her onyx eyes turned back to the ring, where the four contestants were going through their warm up steps. Jagai almost looked in his element twisting his back and reaching for his toys. 'Almost.' Melonia could sense the nervousness within him, all eyes upon him. She had gleefully thrust him out in a lose lose situation. If he won, the expected result, he'd be immediately seen as the villain in this for overpowering the recruits so handily. If he lost, which was quite an upset defeat, he'd be ridiculed by everyone in the room by losing to foes a fraction of his strength. Melonia felt a pang of guilt at this, but decided the man had needed some conflict in his life, things had been so dull since they departed. With the exception of Bora's continued antics, the journey had been almost unnaturally mundane.
Enel called for the opponents to ready themselves, and the four of them quickly finished their all too brief warm up routine to strike their martial arts stances, alert and ready to strike. The signal was given, and immediately the battle commenced. All three of the cadets charged forward at once, fueled on by raw bravery and determination in the face of their instructor's encouragements. Jagai quickly struck a defense stance, raising a hand over his head to counter the axe kick. It slammed down into his waiting hand, a rush of air booming out at the force of the impact. He intercepted one of the kicks to his side with the other hand and spun quickly, throwing the caught cadet into their comrade, sending the pair crashing to the ground. He turned to face them again, waiting for the next attack. The cadet that had landed the intercepted kick whirled around to attempt a savage right hook, though Jagai was able to avoid it with minimal effort. The two on the ground we back up, moving in from the flanks. One sweeping low and the other going for the head.
"Their form is remarkably good given how uneasy their mental state is." Melonia commanded, standing at Enel's side. "They're fairly confident they've already lost, yet they press on without so much as a second thought." As she spoke one of the warriors slammed into the mat not far from them, thrown over the shoulder to the edge of the sparring ring. Melonia leaned in to give the cadet a quick inspection. "You've still got all your teeth, and you aren't unconscious yet. Get up and get back in there soldier, you signed up for this beating, now go take your lumps." The man on the ground, nodded meekly at her almost motherly tone. He quickly hopped back to his feet to rejoin the fray. The largest of the fighters managed to grab Jagai and put him in a full nelson, and the other two slammed mercilessly into his stomach with a furious volley of punches. "Harder! Harder!" The crowd cheered, thinking their fellow comrades had maybe gained the edge. Jagai gritted his teeth, slamming back his head for a savage headbutt. When he was free, he quickly vanished with an after image technique, causing the cadet's next punch to hit her headbutted ally square in the gut. Jagai emerged overhead in midair, slamming down on an unsuspecting opponent in a meteor smash. Driving them face first into the mat as he now cleanly had the advantage, with one foe on the ground, another severely wounded, and the third with their back to him.
The fight was actually going better than Melonia had expected, Jagai had snapped back into fighting form far faster than she had anticipated for, and it was fast becoming a slaughter in his favor. Not wanting a paltry victory to get to his head, Melonia's tail uncurled and tapped Enel on the left shoulder. "Join the fight." The Captain said swiftly, eyes not much leaving the beating going on in the arena. "He did say he wanted four, and those three are about one good round of hits from being out of commission. The two of you should be more evenly matched, though I already know who has the edge. Still, I think it'll make for a good show." As she spoke Jagai was cleanly caught in a ballistic melee with two opponents at once. Dodging and countering a rapid fire volley of punches. When the third opponent began to lift himself up from the floor Jagai delivered a fierce sweep kick, knocking his foes of their feet before elbow dropping the one still on the ground. All three foes now on the ground it seemed the match was sadly all but won.
The battle had commenced and just as expected, Jagai and the trio of Saiyans were having a fairly even start. Jagai was still working off the rust of working as a glorified secretary it seemed and this gave the recruits a chance to press forward. For now, the group of greenhorns were doing well, able to take a hit while keeping Jagai on edge. Little by little however, Jagai's hits were beginning to dig deep, the difference in strength was far too great and Jagai's strikes were beginning to take their toll. Still, the trio pursued and much to Enel's surprise, they were tough as nails but the continued punishment would have sent anyone on their back side. One by one, each fighter began to drain, whether it be from taking too many hits or the high paced and overly aggressive plan, they were diminished and Jagai was beginning to get his old self back.
Captain Melonia stated that despite their current status, that the soldiers were still keeping a good form. Enel nodded his head in agreement as he spoke, keeping his eyes on the fight as he did so. "They were trained to throw away any disbelief in their own forms. It's natural to them to keep their stances up and push forward, even exhausted." Enel continued to watch as his recruits were taken care of, one by one they were all put out of commission and brought down to the mat until they were no longer able to stand up. The crowd was silent, almost deathly so as they watched their teammates fall to the mat and be so handily defeated by the man they thought was no more then a lap dog. Enel was about to step forward to announce the end of the fight when he felt something tap his shoulder.
The massive man's eyes trailed to the right where Captain Melonia was standing, she whispered something to him and he simply stood in place. "Very well." The large man would step forward onto the mat before taking his place on the opposite end of the mat as Jagai, he would grab his shirt and slide it from his bulky frame before tossing it to the side. The crowd seemed confused as to what was going on, that was of course until Master Corporal Enel assumed a fighting stance. Both his hands lifted into the air, his left spinning into a small circular formation to the right and his right arm mimicking the same motion. He would do this slowly as he let out a slow exhale, his stance widening to a tad more than shoulder length as his dark eyes were fixed on Jagai. On his barren chest, there were several scars, all of them a showcase of the martial art carried down his family line. The seven puncture marks were all aimed at vital points, his heart, lungs, diaphragm, solar plexus, and down the center line of his body.
"I will be your opponent. Come." Enel's face changed, his emotionless stare changed to one of rage, though unlike the other Saiyans, there was no savagery behind his eyes. A dark blue aura began to flow off of his body, however, it was not like a traditional fire, the way it began to flow from Enel was like smoke that disappeared after a few feet into the air. The atmosphere completely changed as Enel took his stance, the recruits weren't quite sure what to make of it, they had not seen Enel fight before as he did not like to take part in it. Before he had merely taught how to bring down an enemy, this would be the first time any of them watched him practice what he had been preaching. Enel simply stood in place, waiting for Jagai to make the first move, he would play on the defensive for now, allowing the fallen recruits to work their way back to consciousness. "These are Captain Melonia's orders." He stated, just to make sure that if Jagai had anything to say, he knew that this was the Captain's decision.
As his aura continued to seep from his figure, Enel's frame bulked up a bit more, his muscles becoming more defined and his aura expanding in size. It was as if he had learned to control the amount of power he was putting out and allowing to escape from his body. Conversation had been one of the many things he was taught and so for this, it was merely to display his abilities. The crowd broke silence as they began to whistle and holler in response to their trainer taking place, they misconstrued the situation as Enel deciding to stand up for his students who had been beaten down.
Melonia let out a slight sigh as she watched the third cadet collapse back down to the floor, now bleeding rather heavily from the mouth. That last kick had been rather savage, and Melonia thought it might have been a touch too far, but, the cadet in question had landed that nasty blind side earlier when Jagai was distracted with the other two, so all way fair in love and war it would seem. That made three down so far, each felled one after another. Their only strength had been to fight as a well coordinated unit, once one was defeated that tactic simply collapsed as Jagai was able to easily pick apart the survivors. The crowds quickly fell to silence as they watched their brothers in arms be bested by the man who was for all intents and purposes nothing more than the Captain's secretary. She could almost feel their hearts sink watching how inferior their friends had been in the wake of a superior opponent. Rage was born of sorrow, and sorrow born of grief, so let that be a lesson to them that hope was the first step on the road to disappointment. The simplest and most effective course of action was to channel those negative emotions back into rage and anger, creating a negative feedback loop of the self. Only through rage did Saiyans truly only their fullest potential.
Melonia grinned her wicked feminine grin as Enel's cold eyes met with her own. The warrior remarked plainly, stepping forward onto the ring and tossing aside his shirt to reveal the sheer musculature before. He was easily three times Jagai's size, but their power levels were significantly closer than the previous bout had been. Melonia new damn well that the three recruits were little more than a warm up that hit back compared to the Saiyan officer, which was why she'd now provided him with an honest challenge. The crowds grew deathly confused at the sight, unsure if they were supposed to root for the man who an hour ago was likely telling them how worthless they were as soldiers and commanding them to perform obscene amounts of exercise as physical punishment for even trivial failures. Once it began apparent that the Master Corporal was clearly fighting on the same side as their fallen comrades, the crowd burst into a renewed wave of cheers, decrying their instructor's name as if he was a beloved war hero returning from the front lines. Melonia chuckled slightly to herself as she stood admist the crowds. "Oh thee, how the tides they doth turn." She said only loud enough for herself to hear over the crowds cheering.
Enel had a strange sort of scarring across his body, Melonia made a note to inquire on what that was at a later date. Surely not some battlefield wound that had healed incorrectly, since the formation of wounds was far too precise, and upon closer inspection, appeared directly over several of the man's most vital organs. Jagai however, looked only slightly worse for wear. There was a bleeding cut above his left eyebrow, and he had slight bruising on his chest and left arm. Though other than that he actually looked better off than when he began, he had that fiery look back in his eyes that all Saiyans should have. The warrior's spirit, the raging desire to fight and to win. Melonia was gladly it burned brightly as ever, it seemed even crushing mountains of paperwork could not dampen his spirits on such matters. He rolled his shoulder, unfurling his tail before wrapping it around against his body again tighter as he prepared for his second opponent.
"You'll be my opponent?" Jagai said as he snorted air out through his nose. "I should have expected the Captain to pull something like this. Fair enough, I accept your challenge. But I will not give you an easy fight, so prepare yourself Enel." The slim warrior adjusted his stance, flaring his aura out to its fullest strength as he let loose anything he still had been holding back. It was quite the sight, though Melonia knew as well as her aide did that even at full strength Enel was the physically stronger of the two. Only through great skill did the assistant have any hope of victory, and even then his prospects were grim against a seasoned warrior whose sole purpose was to teach others how to fight. Not a man who lived behind a desk pushing papers his superior had no time to attend to. Still, it was the most powerful clash any of these recruits had likely seen since they joined, so the room was electric with energy as the crowd's excitement built to a fever pitch.
It seemed Enel had little desire to hold back as well, his form powering up as he allowed his Ki to flow forth. His muscles becoming more bulky and well defined against his already massive frame, his control of his Ki and its manipulation was exemplar, that much was certain for even a casual observer. Melonia was growing more excited for their match by the moment, expected a good showing from both men. Though even her enthusiasm was a drop in the bucket compared to the crowd. The hundred other cadets genuinely thinking their superior officer was standing up for his men. Cheering and whooping as they yelled out encouraging words for their instructor, egging him on to make the first attack and show the Captain's lackey what enlisted men were made out of.
Jagai let out a sigh, exhaling slowly as he emptied his lunges. He breathed in quickly, as if he was taking what would be his final breath. Trying to savor the calm before the two warriors began to spar. "Alright then, I'm ready!" He said, clenching his fists as his arms were held aloft at his sides. Muscles flexed as the Saiyan warrior called up as much of his inner strengths as he could. In an instant Jagai lept forward, charging at his opponent with a strength not seen in his previous match. Almost a blue to the cadets, who would struggle to keep up with these two warriors movements as they fought. His leg extended as the warrior aimed to deliver a brutal flying kick aimed straight towards Enel's gut to kick off their match. Jagai Power Level: 6,861 Jagai Stamina: 3/3 Attack: Melee Combat (No Stamina Cost) Damage: 343
