The morning sun was only beginning to crest up above the few tree's scattered about the island, the wind was still cool from the night and breeze carried in by the sea. Komatsu had been training here on this tiny island the whole night through, practicing every aspect of his Soy School teachings again and again until even his low powered Spirit Cannon truly reflected the power within his own spirit.
"Okay... one more time..." Komatsu would mutter to himself, bracing himself in the familiar Soy School stance, sweat beating down his brow as he channeled his ki into his hand. As he brought it back to his side to charge it further, he would hold it there for much longer than he normally could have. He needed it to hit harder, he needed it to represent everything he stood for, and everything the Alliance stood for. While he favored his mother's techniques, he would end Jarvis with his fathers... this was to show not just him, but Komatsu himself just how far he had come.
The spirit cannon wouldn't grow in size, but the sheer power being focused into it was immense! So much so that the blue sphere began to shake, the color slowly changing to the color of his own aura, Crimson.
"That's it... Now... just a little more..." Komatsu would mutter to himself, unable to help the groan that escaped his lips as he pushed even more power into the orb, while still trying to keep it's relative size. His hands were shaking at this point as he tried to contain the huge amount of power he now had in the Spirit Cannon. The crimson orb now carried every ounce of his strength and spirit, and while trying to hold it in place, small arcs of lightning began to dance around it, as if the power being condensed was trying to escape. Perfect, yes that was it... while it looked unstable, Komastu held no fear in losing control of the orb... no, it was ready, this was it, the pinnacle of his strength. He couldn't rely ont he Spirit of the Saiyans during his duel with Jarvis, so he had to infuse everything he had into all of his moves.
"Crimson Spirit Cannon!" Komatsu cried out as he thrust his arm forward, releasing all of the pent up energy at the ocean and watching it soar out into the seemingly endless waters. The water underneath it was roughly pushed aside, parting in the wake of his blast that detonated as soon as it got too far from him. Some of the blast was absorbed by the water, but it still created quite the fireworks display as it went off, throwing water high up into the air as it did so.
After training all night, and releasing all of his strength into that spirit cannon, Komatsu would let himself sit back onto the sand of the beach, panting heavily as he looked up at the sky. Damn it, this training... sure it was good but it was taking him too long... he'd never catch up to Jarvis without the use of the time chamber his sister said he could use... it was all Jie's fault they weren't already in there... having some unfinished business to attend too first...
"Annoying... let's just hope Jarvis is having as much trouble as I am..." He would grumble to himself, growling softly as he threw himself back onto the sand so that he was lying down, a frown on his face as he stared up at morning's first light.
"She'll probably kick me off the lookout first step I take there. Stupid Kimiko... aaaaarg, my family sucks." Komatsu huffed, bringing his hands up to angrily scratch at his now sandy mane.

It was time that she came out of retirement. The timing was right, as Atsuko had returned to Earth, and she was steadily becoming one of the strongest warriors currently alive... More than that, the Albino Saiyan needed help. But that did beg the question of why that was Micaela's reasoning for coming out of retirement, but instead she sought out Komatsu instead of her Daughter. The reasoning was simple. The Knight's family was falling apart, repairing what was done with Nasu was just flat out impossible, it would be a godsend to restore relations with the Saiyan Alliance period.
Komatsu, on the other hand... He was struggling with his training, and the fact that Atsuko reacted so harshly to him. It was sad to see that they had come to blows, just like everyone else that the Knight ended up meeting... But Micaela knew how to fix it, and she wasn't going to let this play out into another horrible situation. That was the reason she had flown to the Southern Islands. That was why she was following his energy signature, and she arrived just in time to see him performing his Crimson Spirit Cannon. As she made her way closer...
He expressed his fears to no one in particular that he believed Atsuko would kick him off the Lookout as soon as he stepped onto it next time. Followed by a comment that his family sucked. It prompted a small laugh out of the woman as she stepped over to him. "She will if you approach her with hostility, as you have been doing.", she would comment. But then she'd raise a hand to prevent him from speaking out of turn. "Don't misunderstand. Hostility does not mean that you're openly attacking her, or anyone on Earth. It doesn't even necessarily mean that you're insulting her or her beliefs."
Micaela elaborated. "You have a hardened view on things, only made worse due to youth... It means that you two clash, even more so because of your differing cultures. That's why I've come here, to help resolve all of these issues before they culminate any further into something horrible.", she continued. After that, the woman took a deep breath. It wasn't that she feared Komatsu. Hell, on a straight battle of power, she would likely overpower him. But again, that wasn't why she came here. No, it was time to introduce herself.
Likely opening up a can of worms in the process. "I am Micaela Inoue. The Previous Guardian of Earth, the one who raised Atsuko.", she introduced herself. "And I know who you are, Komatsu. I also know what you've been up to.", she'd add. The Previous Guardian would then cross her arms. "Challenging Jarvis to a duel... Not the action I would have advised, but a respectable decision.", however, at that point, her tone and posture would shift. "Violating the terms of the duel on the other hand, is decidedly not so respectable. You're asking Atsuko to do a lot."
Micaela would finally begin to explain. "Of course she wasn't going to react well to the news, on a level you already knew that. That's why you weren't going to tell her at first... Surprised? Kyuri isn't the only one that can gather information.", despite her small boast, she offered no smile. Instead, just a stern gaze. "No one's asking you to agree with her viewpoint. Not even she's asking you to do that... Despite that, you said that you would always defend the Saiyans.", she finally turned her gaze away, sighing a little as she looked towards the sunrise.
"...Do you fully understand what that sounds like? I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and explain how it sounds from an Earthling's perspective: It meant that you defend what the Saiyans did to her, and if they ever did something like that again, you would still defend them.", the Previous Guardian would return her gaze to Komatsu. "I know that in Saiyan Culture, the first instinct is to fight. It resolves every difference. It's how they are raised; but Atsuko isn't like that. She was raised as an Earthling... Do you want to know how to smooth things over with her?"
She would ask of the young Saiyan. "Then when she lashes out, say that you understand... It's not worth fighting her over at every turn, no matter your personal feelings on the subject. She expects support out of you... Not in a Saiyan manner, but in an Earthling manner. It is selfish, but it is also the only thing she knows.", the Previous Guardian elaborated. "She was hurt by what you said. I would recommend apologizing to her, just to put the entire matter to rest; she would apologize to you in turn.", Micaela stated.
"You said you wanted to learn more about Earthlings. I will help you understand, then. Atsuko is not mentally fit to do so at this point in time.", she'd then extend the offer. "Additionally, I intend to accompany you the next time you speak to her. I'll help calm her down... But you'll need to treat her delicately. No matter how much she lashes out, don't confront her... If necessary, I'll handle the talking.", Micaela explained her plan to Komatsu. She wanted to see her Daughter again, it just so happened that the rest of this lined up, might as well take care of it all at once, right?
"We won't be heading there right now... I imagine we have a great many things to talk about. But I wanted to tell you why I came here first. Now you know.", she finished. The woman falling silent as she gauged Komatsu's reaction. Was it going to be one of anger? Would he attempt to attack her, shout at her? If so, he would probably be rather surprised at her actions in turn. But she would make no further assumptions, and merely wait for him to process all of this and give her a response.
Atsuko may not have had the patience... But she did.

Komatsu stopped harassing his hair suddenly to just lie flat ont he sand, a sigh escaping his lips as he tried to calm down. Was he really the most level headed of his family? He sure thought he was... and that was saying something since he was constantly angry. He didn't quite u understand why, but recently the young saiyan was quick to anger... anything could set him off and he wasn't sure why himself. He tried to have patience, convince himself to remain calm but... anger felt like his primary emotion recently. Was it maybe because of Jarvis' mark? ... no, it started long before that... it started when he first transformed into that Golden Ape...
His thoughts were interrupted though as a sudden immense power level burst into life from behind him. It's sudden appearance giving him quite the headache in the process. His heart felt like it was going to jump out of his chest! This power level was even higher than his mothers... he wasn't sure about his father though, seeing as he hadn't sensed his energy in such a long time...
Instead of jumping to his feet though, Komatsu decided it was a better tactical idea to stay down. Best to surprise his enemy if it came to blows... He would tilt his head back enough to peer at... an earthling? a female earthling with long blonde hair and blue eyes... she was so petit, this power didn't even make sense? Was she really an Earthling at all?
He was about to ask who the heck this woman was, when she brought a hand up to silence him, earning a raised eyebrow from the young saiyan who did indeed, remain silent as she introduced herself, and proceeded into a rather long speech. Great! Fantastic! Another stupid lecture. He couldn't help but roll his eyes in annoyance at that, turning himself over so that he was on his side, his head propped onto his hand as he lay in a lounged position, listening to what this woman had to say.
It was all so long winded, and as expected of any Earthling, her finger was pointed at Komatsu, at the saiyans. He was really getting tired of it all... She wanted him to apologize to her... and to that he would just scoff, though still didn't interrupt. This woman, Micaela spoke as if Kimiko was some fragile little being, that his words had cut her incredibly deep, to which Komatsu would only just ball a fist, digging it into the sand until Micaela finally fell silent.
Slowly, he would push himself up to a seated position, and then further up to a standing one, his tail waving around behind him in agitation. It's movements were sharp and precise, if he wrapped it around his waist now, he might wrap it tight enough tup cut off circulation!
"So, let me start at the beginning then. For starters, it's your fault my sister grew up here, away from her real family, and that's why we're in the situation we are now. Check. I'm not sure what to even think on that front... First I guess, where the HELL have you been all this time? You know YOU could have stopped Nasu with a power like THAT! You could have killed Jarvis before he could ever kill Chris, Gouken and my uncle... Stepped in before Kimiko got sucked into the demon realm... Seriously? My parent's wouldn't have hesitated if they were here... hell, my mother came back from the after-life to try and smooth things over! You? You don't look dead to me..." His initial reaction was extremely hostile, his fists shaking with the anger he worked so hard to keep inside. He wouldn't fight her, hell he couldn't fight her, so had to keep his emotions mildly in check. He felt he was right in asking all of these questions, and throwing this accusation though... os much could have been prevented if this woman didn't wait to make herself known... and why to him? Why wasn't she babying Kimiko?
"You have no right to judge me on my decision to duel him, or the right to judge any military action the alliance takes against him. I did what I thought was best! For my people, and even for Earth. My decision to duel him is going to make sure that a lot of people don't lose their lives!" He would then clarify, at this point gritting his teeth as his dark eyes seemed to drill holes into Micaela's own with his stare, clearly unimpressed by her arrival. At this point, his voice had slowly been raising itself.
"It's a damn good thing she's not asking me to agree with her, because I don't! She's not even acknowledging my viewpoint! I don't want her to accept it either, but she's refusing to even see it at all!" This was the part that really pissed him off about this whole thing with Kimiko. It didn't matter how hard he tried to make her at least see his side of things, she refused too. He didn't want her to accept his side of things, but he wanted her to see there was more to the story than she was understanding. She would blatantly insult him, his brother, and his people while being so narrow minded... it pissed him off!
When Micaela explained how an earthlings would perceive his words though, an annoyed "Tsh" would escape his lips as he crossed his arms, preventing himself from doing anything. Sure it sounded bad when Micaela put it that way... but damn it did Kimiko really need to be so stupid?
"I told her a million and one times I agreed with her, and that what happened was shit... damn it she's just being stupid, she knows that's not what I meant! I meant I would always protect them! Like... she's constantly insulting them, which whatever, she's entitled to do but she doesn't have to do it in front of me! so of course i'm going to protect them! He screwed up, he knows he screwed up and he's working to fix it! Damn it... she's trying to make me pick between the two of them and I won't do that! I will always try to protect my family, no matter what side they're on" Another twitch of his tail further indicated his anger as the saiyan jumbled over his words. It was hard for him to get how he felt about the whole thing across, as it seemed the Earthlings would understand his words differently than what he meant.
"Look, lady. I don't think you understand either. I've done all of that. I've agreed with her, told her I understood, had patience with her rants and insults, and when I've finally had enough of her insulting my brother to my face, then I become the bad guy. I'm not apologizing to her first... I didn't do anything wrong. If I have to clarify what I meant then fine. But I'm not apologizing" He said rather childishly, turning his back onto Micaela finally though didn't move to walk away from her. He was clearly thinking everything over, and judging by the lack of twitches from his tail, calming down to some degree.
"You can follow me to the lookout if you want, but it isn't going to do any good. I'm going up there only to use that time chamber thing with Jie, then I'm leaving. She won't have to worry about seeing me around Earth or the Alliance anymore." He'd inform her with a normal tone of voice this time.
Micaela would merely listen to him. Oh, there was quite a few things that she didn't like, but she would listen to him all the same, allowing him the chance at his turn to speak while she waited patiently. There wasn't a hint of anger on her face as he talked back to her. He really did have an attitude problem, however... Eventually, he had said his piece. And Micaela merely gave a small nod. "Right...", with that, she'd close the distance between them at a blinding speed, aiming to backhand him right across the face. She'd let that sink in if she was successful.
"Consider that your first lesson on Earthlings. Here on Earth, we discipline our children. And you are very much a child, and a spoiled one at that.", she spoke in a harsh tone of voice, but it was not entirely without a motherly tone to it, either. "Yes. I asked that Atsuko be brought here to Earth, because I needed an heir, and because I wanted peace between the Saiyan Alliance and Earth. Every moment since then has been spent grooming her for all of this. I expected more out of the Saiyans.", she added.
"Let's move onto your accusation. Instead of pointing your finger at me, you should question why your race did this.", she'd then aim to press a hand onto the top of his head. If uninterrupted, she'd then flood his mind with the events of the duel. What happened to Atsuko during it, and as she had been left broke in Makai... All of it made even worse by Jarvis's constant taunting to her. After that, she'd pull her hand back. "You want to know why I didn't intervene? Because I struggle to maintain this power. I've only recently been able to stabilize it somewhat."
She elaborated. "You all promised that it wouldn't be that bad, either. You're the only one that kept your word, Komatsu. That's not an insult, that is fact. It doesn't matter that Nasu feels bad about it, he still did it in the first place. And don't lie to me, I know Tomoroko came back for the express purpose of beating some sense into him. He was content to leave her there. I saw that, too.", Micaela addressed that point without mercy. "You may not like what I have to say, but you will most certainly listen to it."
With that, it was time to go over his reason to accept the duel. "I don't judge you for accepting the duel, I judge you for being underhanded. I judge Nasu for being willing to go along with it, and I'll judge every Saiyan that follows such a plan. You say you have honor, but when your leader and his personal squad isn't leaving a member of their family to die, you're coordinating a sneak attack. There's no two ways about this. You want to prove they're not that bad? Start acting like it.", she spoke sternly to him.
"What you need to understand right now is that these are not merely viewpoints, they are crimes that have been committed. Saying 'sorry' isn't enough. Under the circumstances? She's been shockingly nice. I've certainly killed for less than she's been through. And you need to get it through your head that she's not a Saiyan, and this is not Planet Natto. When you all decided to force her into a duel, you forced your culture as well. You're lucky it didn't spark a war, especially after what they did to her. Yet here we are again. Starting another war."
Micaela continued. Oh yes, she wasn't going to simply let Komatsu act like a brat to her. "Despite that, I didn't come here to accuse you of anything. But I sure will point out the shit they've done if you keep up this attitude, and one way or another, you will see it for what it is.", she added. "Now... If you don't want to apologize to her first, that's fine. At least clarifying what you meant is a good start. But I mean it, don't fight her anymore. You've only spoken to her a grand total of three times about all of this."
Micaela pointed out. "And those first two times, she was still corrupted. Like I said, I came here to smooth things over. If that means I have to straighten out your act too, I will.", after that... It was time to address his thought of just using the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and then leaving. Not just Earth, but the Alliance too. Micaela shakes her head and sighs lightly. "That's not what she wants. Nor does she want you to 'choose' between siblings... Even though by being so supportive of Nasu, I believe you already have chosen."
Micaela would point out another little tidbit. "But as I said, that's neither here nor there. I will be accompanying you, and I'll talk it over with Atsuko. You'll see that it will turn out fine if you merely follow my advice. I came here to teach you about Earthlings so maybe this won't happen again, too. Now, the question is, are you going to cooperate with me?", she then asked of him. The gaze that she gave him implied that it really wasn't going to be a good idea to say 'no' to that. It was a look that only a Mother could give.
She wasn't Komatsu's mother, but she could damn well fill the role because it concerned Atsuko. She was not letting anything bad happen to her Daughter from this point on. Even if it meant she'd have to fight Natto and Tomoroko again one day. Protecting her was worth that. Still, throughout all of this, she didn't raise her voice once, but she did speak clearly, and with enough authority that made her intentions clear. She was indeed here to smooth things over, but that didn't mean she was going to be nice to Komatsu.
Hell, she wasn't going to be the nicest to Atsuko either.

Komatsu's back had been turned to the woman who was trying so hard to talk sense into the boy, so when she came soaring around him and stopping directly in front of him, he was surprised. What came after shocked him, and that look lingered on his face for long moments after the back of her hand collided with it. It didn't hurt as much as he thought it would, but the simple fact that she struck him so un-unexpectedly, and in the face too was insulting as all hell.
"You beat your children on Earth? It's a wonder your children end up so damn weak then. Oh, and you really think i'm spoiled? I don't think living half your life in a jail cell, tortured for every minute of the day is overly spoiling me. Don't you dare pretend to know me." He hissed, his eyes finally narrowing on Micaela and flashing gold for just a brief moment before settling back to their pure dark color. He wanted to hit her back, now more than ever his blood burned for it! But still... he fought against his deepest instincts and restrained himself. If she only understood how hard he was trying to be different... Was no one truly going to notice?
"If you really wanted an heir so bad you should have had one yourself, not tear my sister away from her family. Tsh... and you people need to stop accusing my people as a whole! This isn't the saiyans acting against Earth! This was my brother wanting to prove he was stronger than Kimiko is, too much so yes, but this has nothing to do with all of the saiyans! That's what no one understands!
If it wasn't for me and those 'others' you're so quick to condemn, Nasu would have just blown up your planet and called it a day! None of you would have survived unless you learned to breath in space! But he didn't! It might not look like we did much, but EACH of us had a part to play in keeping him as in check as we could! The situation sucked! I fucking get that! But we did what we could with the cards we were dealt!" He would stop yelling at her as his vision seemed to go black all of a sudden, causing the young saiyan to tense up as he braced himself, ready to receive another blow from her. Although, all that came were images into his mind of the events that happened from Kimiko's point of view.
He really did understand what it must have felt like, more than he admitted that he did... but she didn't understand what it was like on his front... sure, they both said that none of them blamed him, that he stayed true to his word this entire time... but... it was more so because he felt lost... he didn't know what to do other than follow his most primal instincts, and those instincts told him to maintain the sanctity of their duel at all costs... Hell, he had even shot down Kohl, the girl he had come to care for more than anything... His chest hurt just thinking about it, and if Micaela tried, she could easily see his own view of that battle and the events that transpired before, and after.
She would see the long discussion he and the Councillors had before hand, how they would deal with the evil Nasu and work together to keep earth and Atsuko safe. She would see the battle itself, where Komatsu felt so completely lost, defeated and alone, trying to do what he thought was best to keep his family safe. See him get his arm torn clean from his body while fighting alongside Bernael to protect Earth by defeating Jarvis... even the conversations that he and Nasu had after the battle. How even before Tomo had come to Earth, Nasu planned on training Cambia to get Atsuko back, how invading the Cerulean Empire while Jarvis was busy was his idea, though NAsu was going to attack the Empire anyways. Everything that currently frustrated Koma or made him sad, would be sent back through the link Micaela created to let her see his side of things, although unintentionally.
Finally, Koma would bring his hand up to his head as his headache returned, groaning as he stepped away from her with an accusatory look in his eyes, not 100% sure what it was she had done... if those visions were real, or false.
"You two don't understand that there's another side to the story... damn it. You're so quick to judge... and within reason but still... damn it i'm tired of being dragged into the middle of all of this I... I don't know what to do anymore and you're not helping! I know that what Nasu did was wrong, I never denied that! But what the hell do you want any of us to do about it? Send him to his room for bad behavior? You're welcome to be the one to try locking his ass up if that's going to solve this! Because none of us are strong enough to do anything!
And besides, even if you tried, he's my brother and I wouldn't let you. He did wrong, and he's going to live with that and try to become a better person. He succumbed to evil just like Kimiko did! ARG" Angrily, his Ki aura flared up around him, burning such an intense gold color that any non fighters around him would have been blinded. His hair followed suit as anger and further confusion took hold of his heart, pushing him directly into his Super Saiyan 2 state off of sheer emotion.
"Fine, I won't fight her anymore, but like hell I'm sticking around here. I'm done with all of this! I've done everything I could to fix things... or even just appeal to both sides but I'm always getting this shit thrown in my face. I am so, done!!" He wasn't saying no to her, nor was he saying yes. His solution was to just leave. Run away from this stupid problem and not look back. He didn't need any of this! Damn it, honestly since he got back to the Alliance, he hadn't slept a single full night... there was always too much going on! Was it bad that he was starting to miss the Empire, even if they tortured him? At least with them things were predictable...
Micaela merely scoffed at his words, even when she had seen his point of view. "Protecting the sanctity of that duel, and siding with Nasu was the most important thing to you and the rest of the Saiyans. You didn't care if it was trampling over Atsuko to do that, you still don't care about Earth or it's people. Spin it however you want, but don't lie to me. You didn't care about the rest of us or none of you would have taken such a stupid risk and threaten to kill people when Nasu took up a dark power and Atsuko asked for help."
Oh yeah, she was harsh on Komatsu. And she'd keep being that way so long as he had an attitude. "Yeah. She asked for help. Not just from the people on her side, but from the Saiyans too. They always had an option, if they really could have done nothing, then it was even more stupid to come up with that duel in the first place. She could have died. What then? Would you just say that you 'did the best you could'? Mind you, I'm not just speaking about YOU specifically, Komatsu. I direct that to all Saiyans involved."
She pointed out yet again. "I am angry with the Saiyans, most especially Nasu. I don't care if there's another side to it, my Daughter was put at risk for something that shouldn't have even been done. When she chose her duties, she was shamed for it and left for dead... It doesn't matter even if Nasu was willing to train Cambia to save Atsuko before Tomoroko had shown up. My point is that it should not have happened in the first place. What have the Saiyans done to take responsibility for it? Nothing. They're building an Outpost on Earth."
Micaela continued her momentum against the young Saiyan. "You're the only one to acknowledge how shitty it was and to even consider apologizing for it. That's why I'm here talking to you. That's why Atsuko talks to you. Also, there's a very key difference in what Atsuko did and what Nasu did.", this time, her tone would hint at anger. "Nasu took up a dark power because his poor fucking pride was hurt. Atsuko did it because it was the only way she saw to get back home, and she felt betrayed by everyone, if they weren't already dead."
She once more pointed out to Komatsu. "Did she go marching off to Natto with an army in tow to challenge Nasu, and refuse to let him perform any of his duties, including defense of the damn Planet? No. In fact, she tried to avoid a confrontation even as much as she wanted to bash his face in. That's more than I can say for any of the Saiyans that came here to Earth, with the sole exception of you, and a handful of others.", by this point, Micaela's power was rising out of reflex. Tapping into her most powerful form, at that.
"Don't presume that you could stop me from doing anything, child. As I said, I didn't come here to make accusations. But if you want to keep up your damn attitude, then I'll keep pointing out everything that was wrong. You can't change what happened, no matter how much you try to say it was the right thing to do, or that it was the only thing to do. Because it wasn't.", she added. Now... It was time to touch onto a more personal subject. "I asked for Atsuko to be brought here because..."
She would begin to explain. "She is a Saiyan. Related to Natto and Tomoroko, at that. Furthermore, I knew that she was born surprisingly peaceful compared to most Saiyans, even by Alliance standards. It was my belief that because she was a Saiyan, she would have the best chance of discussing anything with the Alliance... You can imagine my surprise when Nasu couldn't see passed his hatred even when he learned that she was family. If things had gone as I planned, no heir that I could sire would have the same chances of discussing peace between Earth and the Alliance."
Micaela elaborated further. "Why do you care that she was ripped away, in any case? You don't care enough about her now to stick around, or just to tell her that you're sorry for hurting her. Or any number of things.", yeah. She wasn't afraid about using that against him. "You want to prove me wrong? Then do so. Words aren't going to do it. Show me your actions.", she added. "I'm not going to give up on you, and you'll learn that rather quickly. I'm only as harsh as I need to teach you the differences of right and wrong."
Micaela would then place a hand on his shoulder. "Now... We hit our children on Earth, yes. It's not to make them stronger. It's so they learn, here we expect manners. Politeness, kindness to others. A sense of right and wrong. Saiyans don't have anything like this, their system is based around fighting and power. Now, true. The Saiyan Alliance has done away with a fair chunk of this problem.... But their culture is still vastly different from Earth. For any Saiyan, the decision to fight doesn't even come as a thought, it's down to instinct. It's not good or bad by itself."
She explained, sounding rather gentle despite the severity of their conversation. "I'll ask once more if you'll cooperate. You don't need to run, you don't need to fight. Hell, if you really so choose, you won't even have to talk to Atsuko... I hope that you will, but I can't make you do that. But I want you to see her true colors. Not the guise she puts on as a Guardian of Earth.", she then made her request once more. It perhaps illustrated a key point, she criticized the Saiyans, but she didn't hate them.
And she wouldn't stay on that topic so long as Komatsu was willing to move on from it.

"What!?" Komatsu cried out angrily at micaela's accusations. How dare she claim he did nothing for Atsuko even back then... that he didn't even care about Earth either! While he was a member of the Alliance, Earth was the place he first found his freedom, so the blue planet would always hold a special place with him, even if he didn't admit it out loud. Still though, her accusations cut him deep, and for a moment his fists would begin to glow crimson, only for the ki to fade once more.
"I did what I could under the circumstances. Miso and Karota opposed Nasu when he was marked and ended up in healing tanks for it. I warned Atsuko long before we arrived on Earth of what was happening. What else could you expect us to do!? Fight him? Then we all could have been killed while he was under that mark, and then he would of simply come to Earth anyways! No warning, no deterrents and no one to keep him in check! We weren't about to kill anyone! Stop them from interfering, yes, knock them out if needed but no one was meant to die! If JArvis hadn't shown up and screwed everything up, then none of this shit would have gotten so out of hand. Don't you dare accuse me of not thinking of my sister and of not protecting this planet, because I have tried! I know I'm a fuck up, but god damn it I did my best for her!" He full out yelled at her at this point, his teeth grit so tightly, it looked like his teeth might break under the pressure. Holding himself back this much was even bringing tears to the young saiyans eyes as his anger and helplessness had no other way to express itself in such an intense emotional moment.
"The duel wasn't our idea either... Nasu wanted to fight Kimiko one on one under equal terms when he wasn't corrupted. The Demon Queen... if you're mad with anyone it should be her! She marked Nasu and turned him so evil... Nasu would have never gone to such lengths on his own! Don't you find it suspicious at all that she turned Nasu evil and pit him against her, only to show up at the last minute to steal Kimiko away into the Demon realm? And THEN she tries to have Kimiko commit genocide against the saiyans! You're right, what happened shouldn't of happened, but there's more than just Nasu and 'the saiyans' involved in this! The stupid Demon Queen is playing her cards and pitting us against each other, and apparently no one can see that!" The worst part about this whole situation was that Komatsu could actually sympathize with Nasu on a basic level. He understood the desire to want to fight someone you considered your rival 1 on 1... hell that's one reason he had accepted JArvis' duel. On the same tolken, he did understand that the extreme's that were taken were wrong, and that they had played right into Nakiya's hands...
Finally, Komatsu would sigh, even closing his eyes as he brought his hands up to the side of his head, taking in several breaths to try and calm himself down. There really was no point in arguing with the Earthlings... they were as thick headed as Saiyans were it seemed...
"You know what, forget it. You wouldn't understand even if I told you why I cared that she was taken away from us. You wouldn't care because I'm just one of them, right?" He would say, much more calmly at this point after having tried to breath through his frustrations.
"I've done everything I can think of for both Nasu and Kimiko. You're right, I"m just a kid and there's just so much I can do. I haven't slept, or had an evening of quiet since Athren disappeared... and i'm tired. I'm tired of always fighting or arguing, of screwing up and just... forget it. Whatever. I'll go with you to the lookout but I'm not talking to her. I'm going so that this stupid argument can be put to bed and leaving." With that, he'd plop back down onto the sand, cross legged and arms still crossed, frowning at the sand in front of him. He'd reach up to wipe at his eyes, huffing at the fact that he'd been brought to tears again.

His emotional devastation was not lost on her. His anger turned to sadness, and... Really, it seemed like it was all running wild; even for a Saiyan, and even for one as young as he was. The Previous Guardian would merely let out a sigh, giving him a few moments to calm down. It let her calm down herself, the truth of the matter was... Micaela was biased, it concerned her daughter, and her daughter's life had come into peril. Any parent would be mad about that. "Look. Before you get the wrong impression, I'll admit I'm biased. She's my daughter."
The woman explains. "Her life was put into danger. Maybe that's not what any of you intended, but that's what happened. If you really want to know what the Saiyans could have done, and what they should have done... Then I'll tell you. The answer was always there, Komatsu.", she states. Her tone of voice didn't carry the conviction or anger behind it from before. "When Nasu took up that dark power, you all made the right decision to play by his rules, and head off to Earth so you could regulate the situation. Even if you couldn't stop him by yourselves."
Micaela continues. "However, once you all arrived on Earth, that's when it start to fell apart. The correct choice to make here would have been to help Atsuko restrain him, so that he could be cured... But I understand why you didn't do that, he's your brother. None of you wanted to put him through that.", she would admit, and probably hit the nail right on the head in that regard. "However, when the planet came into peril and she asked for help, that was the point where you all should have acted.", she would point out.
"When Jarvis showed up, you instead went to personally fight him, instead of putting a stop to the duel. It wasn't the wrong decision, but none of the Saiyans put a stop to the duel. When the Demon Queen showed up, the Saiyans should have acted against Nasu's actions. Instead, they merely watched as Atsuko charged headfirst into enemy territory, with Nasu's attack racing behind her... They did nothing there, and that was after several occasions where they said they would kill anyone for intervening; not fighting. Intervening. Maybe I just don't understand it, but why was that duel so important?"
Micaela then inquired. "That it was worth putting everything at risk and giving all of the power to our true enemies? Especially since now, the Saiyans willingly violate the sanctity of another duel. Do you understand how this looks from our perspective? Maybe you don't like hearing it, I don't blame you for that... But that's what we see. That's why we get so angry. The wounds are still fresh and you'll just have to accept that if you intend to be a part of Earth.", she explained to the distraught Saiyan. It wouldn't do anything to calm him down, but maybe he'd understand a little more.
So now it was time to address his accusation... "I think you missed the point I was trying to make. Atsuko is still your sister. If you deem her important enough that you didn't want her ripped away in the past, then you should care enough about her now to try and resolve things and keep her as your sister, right?", she asked rhetorically, hoping he'd see the point of her argument there now. Though if he did or did not, it was time to put all of that to rest. He agreed to her terms.
Although he still said he wanted to leave afterwards. "You'll see that you won't need to leave. After that... You need to get some rest; don't argue with me. The Lookout is your home. Atsuko won't turn you away once I've spoken to her. You're not fit to train more, and it's just as important to be well rested for a battle. Understand?", the woman now spoke out of a surprising kindness. That was a key difference in what it was like to argue with Atsuko, and what it was like to argue with her. She raised her points.
But she would leave them in the past. Micaela was only going to continue the discussion as much as Komatsu did, but now, she wouldn't do that either. "If you want to argue my points, do it after you've rested. You're in no condition to do that, either. I'd rather we didn't dwell on that subject, however.... But I won't let you say your piece and then let you get away with it. Just as much as you don't want Atsuko to talk about the Saiyans, I'll ask that you don't talk about them either.", she hoped that would discourage any further arguments.
Micaela thought about doing more to comfort him, but.... The simple truth was that she wasn't actually his Mother. She did need to be just a little stern for it all to sink in, too. Stern, but not careless. That was why she was trying to get it all to move on from that subject so he could rest. That was what he needed right now, and what would help that was making sure that he and Atsuko wouldn't fight anymore. They needed to be a family, now more than ever. Especially with the upcoming duel against Jarvis.
"I'll talk to Atsuko and make sure that you two will get along from now on. That's going to help you prepare for all of this, right? We'll go when you're ready.", she added. After that... Micaela would merely wait, there was no sense in forcing Komatsu to go right now. He deserved a moment to compose himself, maybe he still wanted to talk about something. She merely hoped it wasn't another argument against her points. The Previous Guardian wouldn't ignore them, but it would only serve to fracture relations further, no matter how well constructed the points were.

'She's the Earth's guardian. She can't seriously expect her to never be in danger...' Koma thought to himself as he listened to Micaela speak, wiping the last of the tears that had started to build up away. he chose not to speak, but that didn't mean his mind wasn't running rampant with come backs to her words.
'No one knew how to cure Nasu... I assumed the dragonballs could but that could have taken quite some time... especially considering the fact that Jarvis had just used them. We couldn't of confined him for very long... and failing to remove the mark from him would have only set him off further. He wouldn't have given us a chance to escape Earth before blowing it to bits if he thought we betrayed him like that...' A light sigh escaped his lips as he thought of the horrible scenario they would have run into had they done things any differently. Of course they didn't have all of this information then, so things probably would have turned out even worse than Koma was imagining.
Another thing that bothered him about Micaela's words was the accusation that no one acted whenever Atsuko was headed straight into the demon portal. While he himself wasn't there when that happened, by the information he had gathered they really didn't have much time to do anything. On one end, there was an attack strong enough to vaporize any of them, and on the other a demon portal that gave them only a literal second to act. Everything was timed and placed far too carefully for them to succeed.
It was annoying, but he was done arguing this. He understood his family, the saiyans, and why they acted the way he did. It didn't make it right by any means, but he understood. He also understood that the Earthlings never would, and this arguing with them served no purpose. So instead of further yelling at Micaela, he would just huff and lazily lean his head in his hand, resting it atop his knee. He was still in his Super Saiyan 2 form, though slightly more at ease so that his energy didn't arc around him.
"Look, my duel with Jarvis was so that I could prevent another war. Hell, I'm even going against what my mother asked from me by doing this. If she were here, even she would have declared war against Jarvis' Empire. I don't like that we're using my duel to cover this up, but from a military tactical point of view, it's a smart move. If we don't hit them first, then Jarvis will and he wont hesitate to kill anyone who stands in his way. At least with us making the first move, a lot more people could survive this..." His words were low, trying to convince himself as much as he was trying to convince Micaela about the outcome of this situation. It really was to their benefit... if war was going to happen one way or another, then this would provide them with the best outcome. As much as he disagreed with it.
That was when Micaela suggested he rest before even attempting to argue her points any further. To this he couldn't help but huff again slightly, looking off to the side as his face started to go red. Yeah, he definitely needed sleep... but as usual he didn't have the time too...
"I don't know when Jarvis is coming for me.... I don't have time to rest. Not out here... That's another reason why I need the time chamber. It'll give me the time I don't have out here..." He mumbled once more, admitting that he fully planned on sleeping quite a few days away while he was in training. of course he would push himself far beyond his own limits, or at least try too.. but he did fully plan on relaxing while he was in there too... It was another reason he didn't want to take either of his siblings in with him. He needed to get away from them.
"That also means we have to go see her now and get this over with. I don't have a lot of time."

Well, it seems as though progress was being made, Komatsu was falling silent rather than angrily fighting her every word and point. Micaela saw no reason to intrude on his thoughts, he deserved the privacy it offered him. Instead, what would get her attention was Komatsu's explanation about the duel with Jarvis. The woman listened intently as he spoke about the situation. It was true enough, from a tactical point of view, it was smart... But it was still underhanded, and so soon after the duel that took place between Atsuko and Nasu, it was simply in poor taste. The fact that Komatsu didn't see that...
Well, it prompted her to sigh. "Can you promise that bloodshed will be minimal, that a planet won't be destroyed? Can you really guarantee that Jarvis won't still go on a rampage as soon as he learns? You're banking all of this on a gamble; that he won't find out... But even I've seen it for myself; he has an almost omnipotent sense. In the blink of an eye, he can be anywhere. If you violate the terms of your duel, he has no reason to stay and fight you, other than to attempt to kill you for your trickery."
She explained to Komatsu. "You need to understand that win or lose, he'll be even more of a rampant monster now. You've added fire into this, and the results will be explosive... You don't have to like hearing that, but you'll need to understand that.", she spoke in a surprisingly soft tone of voice, showing that she wasn't really intending to argue with him on the issue. "You know Nasu better than I do... In the end, I only have my observations to go off of. But if you can promise me that this won't go badly..."
Micaela would then stare him in the eyes. "I'll drop the issue entirely. I'll hold you and the Saiyan Alliance to that promise, as well. You and Nasu are the leaders of this group. You shape their destiny, and now you are poised to shape the face of the Galaxy.", after that, Komatsu would protest that he had no time to rest, and Micaela would simply shake her head at that. "I said not to argue with me on it. If your body is broken, you won't be able to fight well. If your mind is exhausted, you won't be able to think clearly."
She warned him. "You need every advantage you can get. That includes being fully recovered, physically and mentally.", but after saying that, she'd just give a nod to his next words. "...That also includes being able to use the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. A full year to train and prepare yourself. We'll be heading to the Timeless Lookout now to ensure that you'll be able to use it... I think you'll see a new side to Atsuko, as well.", with that out of the way, the woman would start to float into the air.
"You've seen her when she fights, and you've seen her acting as the Guardian of Earth. You've yet to see her when she's just... Her. She's not much older than you are. I think most people forget that.", she'd turn her gaze towards the direction of the Timeless Lookout. "She's going to need this talk too. She's a lot like you. Training even when she's exhausted, simply because she sees no other suitable action.... She can be at it for most of the day without a break. She has it in her head that she's weak now.", she explained to Komatsu.
"I don't think she's considered the possibility that she was just distracted during that duel.", Micaela would sigh a little again. "Now she's trying to prepare for everything right this instant.", she'd look over at Komatsu. "Sound familiar to you at all?", she'd poise to the young Saiyan. After sharing that, the Previous Guardian would start her flight towards the Timeless Lookout, it was time to see Atsuko again after so long... It was time to piece everything back together, this family and alliance needed it now more than ever. If they were divided, then Jarvis and the Demon Queen would win in the end.
The truth of the matter was, Micaela wanted to start helping out more, too. Maybe it really was time for her to come out of retirement and stand at her daughter's side. The timing seemed about right, all things considered. The Albino Saiyan needed someone to support her, more than just Excalibur, at that. Komatsu needed someone that wouldn't easily give up on him, either. He liked to put up a tough front, but... He needed someone to care for him. All the more saddening that Natto and Tomoroko couldn't be around to do it.
Micaela would attempt to take him under wing, but she wouldn't be able to force him to stay on Earth or... Really do anything, in the end. All she could do was try to teach him, be the parent that he needed, even if he didn't particularly want one. Still, she'd have to sort all of that out later. She had to focus on what was right in front of her; the Daughter that she spent several years raising. Atsuko was heading down a dark path, and she wasn't entirely certain that the people around her could reel her back in.
Not while she and Komatsu were bashing heads together at all times. Not while the relations between Earth and the Saiyan Alliance were constantly strained. It'd become a real mess very fast, but... She was familiar with that, too. Spending so long being a Guardian of Earth herself, but at least they were able to enjoy peace for a time, even if the Saiyan Alliance hadn't been so lucky in that regard. A part of her still wished that Natto and Tomoroko had simply asked for help. Maybe that war would have gone differently if they did. It was too late now.
So, focus on the present...

"I can't make you that promise, no. I can't account for what any of them do when I'm not there. War isn't black and white and many things can happen. I gave Atsuko my promise that everything would be fine because I had a solid plan, and look how well that turned out. I'm against the plan to attack the Empire at all, but I'm out voted on that front.
I know what Jarvis can do, and what he will do in retaliation, win or lose... He's a loose cannon that can't be dealt with easily. I know this, but I can't do anything about it. If I don't face him, then he'll bring the war to us, and then bring the war to Earth. At least by us making the first move, his attention wont be on Earth for a good long while." The last part about Earth turned into more of a mumble, as he was basically admitting that he had taken into account Earth's involvement and was acting to focus Jarvis' attention on the Alliance, and away from Earth. Jarvis was a threat not easily dealt with, so he felt it was the best course of action to let the battle hardened warriors worry about him, and give the more peaceful Earthlings time to prepare.
All of this wasn't just going to go away by ignoring Jarvis or leaving him be, as it seemed Kimiko wanted to do. Finally, another sigh would escape his lips as he pushed himself up to his feet, eyes focused on Micaela for a moment as he knew she wouldn't like that answer. He could have lied to her face, promised her that not a single life would be taken... but then that would have simply backfired on him. There were far too many variables to make a promise such as that one...
"I did talk to Nasu though, and to Jie Shan who is one of our council, and Kyuri too. They are on the same page as I am though, so with their help I'm hoping things will remain under control... the whole point of my duel was to spare as many lives as possible so... I know Nasu will honor that as best he can. I can't promise, the best I can say is that we'll try..." He hoped it was a good enough answer for her, because there was nothing else he could say that wouldn't be a flat out lie. So, he took to the air when Micaela did, reminding him that she told him he couldn't argue with her, to which the saiyan boy huffed and just crossed his arms.
He didn't immediately say anything, or argue with her any further, only following her in silence as she explained what she planed to do, what he would see from Atsuko once they reached the lookout.
"Doubt it..." He would grumble when Micaela assured him he would see a whole new side of her. Sure he hadn't known her long, but she had always been the same, and judging by Cambia's actions around their sister, there wasn't much left of her he didn't know. At least that was how he felt. He would simply stare off away from Micaela as he would then remain silent for the rest of the flight, his features clearly brooding and unhappy with the situation, even though Micaela pointed out the similarities to their personalities...
