.............................
Rumia stood in the center of the Pendilum Room, currently going over her thoughts as she waited on her student's arrival. Truthfully the kami was a great student, better even than Crystal at soaking up her lessons and opinions. This room also was a perfect way to give the lessons as well. The events of yesterday had convinced Rumia of one thing especially, in order for Atsuko to fully gain inner peace and stop relying on her emotions inside it was best to first help her in stopping those emotions from affecting her in battle, starting from the outside and working her way in. Atsuko expressed this best in her super saiyan three state, where her emotions were heavy indeed. Still with the abilities of this pendilun room.... She knew the perfect opponents to ease her into today's training. If they were able to make enough progress using those to... they would move on to the ones that truly made her emotions burn.
As Atsuko arrived, if she did so without the special attire a simple snap of the finger and a giggle would place her in her training garb, though ether way she noticed she still bore the potera earring, the kai was glad for that, it would really assist her training. Rumia then approached the kami with a cheerful wave. Yes. In such a short time she progressed far. The Kai was very proud of that.
"Today we are going to focus on taking the emotional drive out your transformations and combat in general, allowing instead simply your energy and a sort of serenity you drive you. Now I am not asking you to completely let go of your emotions, nor do I expect them t be driven from your style completely. First we will focus on driving the power negative emotions such as anger and rage, and work our way down until the safer emotions remain, do you understand? Ok when you are ready assume your ssj3 state, I have prepared a suitable opponent to ease you in before we get to the more annoying people"
With a wave of her hand a copy of Rumia's former lover Dawn would appear before her, prepared for combat, both mentally and physicully. Though Atsuko did not know it the two were very much alike, in fact the only major difference Rumia could immiedtly tell was that unlike the knight Dawn found her inner peace completely before she died, mentally and in battle. Of course she was also part Oni, whichever noticibly affected her super saiyan transformations with parts of her oni heritage. The clones of Dawn would step toward Atsuko, awaiting the signal to begin.
"Annnnd go!, remember the goal is to find a source another than anger and rage to drive you in battle, even at your highest state!"
(Dawn is a saiyan/oni hybrid who uses the saiyan traditional path at a hybrid level. Because of how similar they are I also give you free use of talking brethren the two as well for the mental aspect of this! Dawn specializes in ki based attacks, but is no slouch in the physical combat ether! You will notice that because Rumia made her to a T to be lime the fallen Dawn that her attacks have a different, almost spiritual feel to them. Also she's flavored as being equal to Atsuko PL wise if that's ok with you! Other than that go wild!)

After taking a few moments to prepare herself, the Knight would eventually make her way to the Pendulum Room to begin today's training. She wasn't one to make the Supreme Kai wait very long; their stay here in the Mortal Realm was not an easy one, after all. Or at least, going off of what she and Soragami had to say on the subject. The Saiyan could somewhat understand, they were gods and that meant not interfering too much in mortal affairs until it became incredibly necessary. This was more just... A personal venture that Rumia was taking, not that she minded.
The Albino Saiyan kept the earring on, of course. A signal of being Rumia's student, and it was a keepsake from a friend now. As for the outfit... Well, she honestly did prefer her usual garb. As she stepped into the Pendulum Room however, the Supreme Kai would merely snap her fingers and Atsuko was once more in the 'training uniform' that Rumia assigned... "...Ah, I forget how easy it is for you to do that.", the Saiyan commented. Still, it wasn't a bad outfit at least... Just, one that she needed to adjust to. In any case, she listened intently to Rumia's words.
The Supreme Kai pointed out that today's training was going to focus on driving out as much of Atsuko's emotion as possible, so that she could remain calm even in her highest form. It was a bit of a difficult task since Saiyans and especially their transformations relied so much on their anger. The third form didn't need it as much, especially once mastered... But she could hardly deny that it made things a lot easier to just let the emotion drive you forward. In a sense, she wasn't holding back. But her emotions were holding her back.
After that, Rumia made the request for Atsuko to enter the Third Super Saiyan form when she was ready. The Albino Saiyan gives a calm nod, and ascends just as suddenly as she did during their previous venture into the Pendulum Room; her hair lengthened to cover her back, her eyebrows thinned, her muscles became more defined, but not necessarily larger. Finally, her aura flared to a constant peak with such ferocity that it appeared static. The power in this form was nothing short of amazing, and that was why Atsuko rarely used it; it made any efforts to get stronger pointless.
Still, Rumia mentioned having a suitable opponent prepared... It was then the Saiyan Oni hybrid would appear. It wasn't someone that Atsuko recognized, and actually prompted her to arch a brow in response. Well... It did make sense, it wasn't someone that she hated. So that meant she wouldn't lose control so easily, right? Atsuko would get into stance. Dawn would enter a form resembling Super Saiyan Three, and a mix of a form that must have been from her Oni heritage... Their powers were evenly matched. That proved to surprise the Saiyan a little bit.
"There's only been one other person that I can fight on an entirely equal playing field...", the Saiyan commented. "This is a change of pace.", she added. With the signal from Rumia given, the two warriors would surge towards each other; the Knight was the first to attempt a strike, the hybrid managing to evade the blow, however. "Ooh! That was a close one!", the clone of Dawn observed, sending a kick which managed to connect with the Albino Saiyan. Atsuko... Didn't stagger much. In fact, it looked like the pain barely registered in her mind at all.
As Atsuko sent a punch towards Dawn, the hybrid responded by quickly dashing backwards. "Whoa... You've been through a lot, haven't you? I don't think I've ever seen anyone just take a hit like that and... Not care.", it was a pretty good point; Atsuko had an unusually high tolerance for pain. Mostly by nature of just how many times she had her body broken down and cheated death. Her absurd power didn't help things much. Some would honestly suspect that the Albino Saiyan was beginning to blur the line between mortal and deity. But there were many things she couldn't do...
For example, Dawn knew how to keep her distance and fight effectively from there. Atsuko was more of a close range fighter, given the use of her sword, and then using her fists and legs when disarmed, or choosing not to make use of her blade. As their clash dragged on, it became clear that while Atsuko was indeed pretty damn strong and resilient... She was having to rely on her emotions to sustain such a state. Evidenced by the fact that she was growing more frustrated as she couldn't land a solid blow on her training partner.
Eventually, the clone of Dawn manages a rather punishing blow in the form of a wave of Ki. The Saiyan was thrown through one of the walls in the chosen simulated environment of the Pendulum Room. "...Are you okay in there?", Dawn eventually asked. "Oh, I'm perfect! There's candy and gumdrops in here!", the Saiyan shouted back. "What, really? ...Can I come in there?", the Hybrid asked. Atsuko proceeded to yell at the top of her lungs and came bursting out of the hole towards Dawn as fast as she could manage. "Oh crap!", the Hybrid would begin moving away, firing off ki blasts.
Eventually.... Atsuko would drop to her knees, panting. "Okay... Something is going very wrong here.", the Albino Saiyan would mutter to herself between breaths. What the hell was going on? They were equal in power, right? But Dawn was outmaneuvering her this entire time. "Look, most fighters don't know how to react to something that doesn't register pain, and just gets more angry as you hit it... But staying calm lets you form a plan! That's the difference between us right now. Just like she said, you need to get rid of your anger!", the Hybrid pointed out in a calm tone.
She remebered so long ago, when she was in the position Atsuko was now. The art of the blade, focusing energy and most of all peace of mind. These were things Dawn excelled at in life. Things Rumia always strived to follow in her younger years. Her former lover was someoneshe missed dearly even after all these years later. She was a grand warrior and a truly wonderful person. The reason Rumia chose Dawn as Atsuko's opponet was not mere covenice. They were very similar in attitude and behavior. She hoped that in Dawn the kami could discern what was missing, how to bring peace to her own fighting style and evenually inner peace all together. Yes, that was for the Kai's benifet as well as the Kami's growth and health. Yes... It was all for a healthy spirit in the end. Atsuko expressed interest in becoming her guardian and to be truthful Rumia saw no reason other than life to prevent that from being so. Well life and their furrent lessons of course. Despite her bluff Rumia had no intention of cutting Atsuko's life short just for her own means. No, life was a truly precious thing. The kai knew that better than anyone. Atsuko was a wonderful young spirit. Truky an expectional being in the living realm despite the trials that had been laid out before her. However she still yet had place in the mortsl realm, even if some fools failed to see the prize they hsd in their mist. Rumia would not cut that life short. But should her tike come... Rumia would welcome the knight with open arms.
Yes memories, this training. She was certain the Kami would yet grow and develop further. The imitation Dawn would see to that. This lesson was an important one, the first step towards outer and inner peace. Perhaps even-peace all around. She would giggle at their interactions despite herself however. This was important, but hojestly the way they were getting on brought a smile to her face, she coudn't help herself!
That spirit... A spirit and path so similar to Dawn's. She had watched it since she began peeking into the Northern Galaxy.
The Saiyan sighed lightly. "I've been using my raw power just to overcome everything in my path...", she admitted. The imitation of Dawn gave an understanding nod. "And I bet it worked pretty well, too! You're ridiculously strong! Not many people could keep up with you. Truth be told, their best bet against you is a war of attrition. But the odds still aren't in their favor.", she mused aloud. "But, knowing all of that... And that you can still have improvements, to become really skilled, it's about time we worked on that, huh?", she added with a smile. Atsuko had finished catching her breath.
The Saiyan would calmly stand up, giving a nod. "Yeah... I don't think it's going to be very easy.", the Albino Saiyan commented. "Well, if anyone can do it. It'd be you!", the energetic girl replied with a grin. The enthusiasm was pretty infectious... It was starting to get Atsuko to come out of her shell. Her normally reserved nature breaking away to emotion; but this time, more positive. She assumed stance once more, and Dawn did the same. "Now... Show me what you can really do!", she gave the go ahead, and the Saiyan flew into action once more.
This time, the Knight moved with purpose, keeping a level head as she deftly evaded the blasts that Dawn fired off. These were blows that, as far as Atsuko was concerned... They weren't exactly powerful or dangerous, hits that she could afford to take. That's the old way she was thinking, now she knew that she could dodge them but still conserve her energy. It was all about maintaining a battle flow, and not relying on her emotions and raw strength to see her through it all. Her mind was still important, and that would make her even more skilled as a fighter.
It was pretty much exactly like Rumia was always saying. Finding her balance. It was meant to be an emotional balance, but it could be applied to fighting style as well. For the longest time, Atsuko kicked her offense into overdrive. Sheer force of will let her survive even the most devastating attacks and really let her opponents suffer the consequences of being unable to strike her down. That meant she neglected her defense. Her improvements in battle would be undeniable, right alongside her emotional and mental state. Dawn could see the changes right away.
"That's pretty good, keep it up!", she encouraged her training partner. For the first time, it seemed like Atsuko was actually enjoying her training. It wasn't some chore that she needed to keep doing in order to prepare for some inevitable apocalypse. It wasn't some duty that had to be upheld no matter what. Rumia practically got a front row seat of seeing Atsuko's true face. "I think this is the first time I've actually had fun fighting... Someone equal to my power, but we're not enemies.", the Knight said quietly to herself. As the Knight continued trying to close the distance...
Evading each blow headed her way, she wondered on something. "So why does she seem so familiar? I haven't met her before, I don't think... But...", her thoughts served as a distraction, she ended up taking another hit, but the Saiyan quickly began to correct herself, focusing on the battle in front of her. "Oop! Don't lose your focus now! I'm not holding back very much at this point!", the hybrid warned. "Yeah, I know. I can't worry about anything else right now!", the Knight voiced her agreement. "Well, even if you make a few mistakes..."
Dawn began. "It's still a lot better than the first time you tried sparring with me!", she added. "Well, evidently I still have some progress to make! I haven't been able to land a hit on you yet!", the Knight responded. That much was the truth; Atsuko's progress had been fairly rapid, but Dawn had the advantage by being more of a ranged fighter, and knowing how to keep her distance. The Albino Saiyan wasn't entirely clueless about how to fight from range, but the simple truth of the matter was that she didn't hold a candle to Dawn in that field.
Not that Atsuko couldn't make use of it here and there in attempts to make an opening, or put a stop to one of Dawn's Ki blasts. They were at the very least now fighting as proper equals. It must have made for an impressive show for the Supreme Kai to behold... If nothing else just to see how Atsuko was changing. Still, it seemed like the Albino Saiyan recognized it too. Some sort of uncanny resemblance. The Knight just thought it was similarity to someone she had met before, but what if it was something else?
The odds would have to be pretty crazy. But how much time passed? Was it really something so impossible? Seeing the two interact right now, it was pretty easy to see just how similar they were in many respects. And now that Atsuko was receiving training straight from Dawn, or at least the closest thing to that... It was entirely possible that the Albino Saiyan would resemble Rumia's partner even more after all of this. Even if only on an emotional and personality level. It was something to muse on as they continued their sparring. It seemed like they would be at it for awhile.
Dawn had more than enough energy, just like back in her life. And Atsuko... Well, she was a Saiyan that had been through hell. There was no question that she could keep up with her opponent in terms of endurance. All of this effort would make the Knight grow even stronger than she already was, which was an impressive feat. According to her Scouter, she was just about to break into the five hundred thousands in terms of Power Level. It was another huge milestone reached as far as the Saiyan was concerned, and there was no doubt she'd go above it after this session.
