Finally Mar was able to finish work on his new eyeball. After that run-in with the newly awakened God of Destruction and somehow surviving after the expositional information dump he'd given her about the whole Jarvis situation, the Supreme Kai Of The East had focused all his attention on crafting his new sensory organ as quickly as he could. He could fight just as well with one eye... but he'd really rather not take the chance if it was all the same. Especially since the damned abomination had somehow discovered the whole Guardian plan that Grand Supreme Kai had come up with before she had gone back to her nap. Seriously, that woman chose the most annoying times to go back to sleep...
He thought that the simple declaration between himself and the Saiyan Tomoroko had been enough, but apparently not. He wasn't precisely sure what it was he and her were meant to do for this, especially since the only other example of it was that Shizen girl destroying an entire planet in order to affirm her status. The Eastern Supreme Kai was pretty sure that their version wouldn't need to go to such lengths... he hoped. For now though, he decided to call on the Saiyan whilst he worked on implanting his new eye into its proper place. <<Tomoroko, are you alright to come here for a moment? We need to sort out a few things.>> he telepathically called to her, not sure if she was still mourning her lost love after he'd obliterated himself in trying to force his way into the Living Realms through sheer power alone.
Tomoroko had taken advantage of the continent Mar had built for their training, and had taken to using it as a refuge. Unlike her usual self however, she wasn't training her ass off and blowing holes in every single mountain top. Nope, not this time. This time the saiyaness had taken to sulking, secluding herself in one of the few forests that had sprouted up. While she was out there sulking, she no longer had any tears to shed and instead was just sitting in one of the tree's looking miserable.
She had to think up ways to find Natto again. Rumia had told her that she managed to save his soul at least... so in one form or another he was out there. Sadly, that wasn't her main concern just then. No, the one she really wanted to find just then was her son. The one that had been missing since his birth... that had grown up without any of them at all... At least her other children had some time with their parent's before things happened to them. A heavy sigh would escape her lips as she leaned back against the trunk, her tail hanging loosely off the edge of the branch as she was lost in her own thoughts. Until, someone jumped in to those thoughts.
<< Hunh? Yeah... sure. I'll be right there.>> Tomo answered as soon as Mar finished speaking. She was reluctant to push herself to her feet, dusting off her butt to free it from any leaves or twigs before she lifted herself into the air.
'That's right. First things first... I did promise I would become Mar's guardian... that I wouldn't let this happen again, or let anything hurt him or the other Kai's...' Tomo thought to herself as her miserable gaze faded into one of light determination. Once she was high up enough above the cloud's, she took off at high speed towards Mar's, not stopping until she reached the front door of Mar's home.
The Eastern Supreme Kai raised an eyebrow at Tomoroko's response to his summons. In their prior conversations she had definitely seemed more focused, more determined... this sounded rather distant. As he finished putting his new eyeball into place, he rubbed his chin in thought about how this Guardianship was going to go, how to proceed, and probably more importantly, get her funk back after her husband's self-destruction. A faint breeze wafted through his window, tickling at the earrings on his ears which gave him a pausing moment before he began to slowly smile, nodding to himself. "That should do the trick." he mused to himself even as he felt the Saiyan girls presence at his door.
"Come in." the Supreme Kai of the East called out to her whilst he looked around his shelves for a scroll to check up on the idea he'd just come up with. He had no idea if this would even work or not, but it was something that he had to try. He finally found the scroll on the bottom shelf of his bookcase, and began to look it over. "Right, this should work then..." he said, nodding away to himself before he looked up towards Tomoroko, assuming she'd come in when he'd told her to.
"Right, so we've got to get this whole Guardian thing sorted out for obvious reasons... and of course work on getting you back to your full power." said the Supreme Kai of the East, folding up the scroll he'd only just collected and stowing it away onto his desk. "And I think I've figured out how to accomplish both." he said with a grin, before he began to remove his left ear-ring, holding it up for Tomoroko to get a proper look. "Now, these are called Potara Earrings. They denote that someone is a Supreme Kai, or has a connection to the Supreme Kai's." he began to explain. "But, that's not their only function. They actually have two more uses, the first I will explain carefully so we don't make any mistakes." said Mar with a chuckle.
"The first use, is that if two people were to wear one of these on the opposite ear of the other... for example, since I've still got one on my right ear, if you were to wear this on your left ear, it would begin an irreversible process known as Potara Fusion. Our minds and bodies would become a single new person, and our powers would combine and increase." said the Eastern Supreme Kai. "The only way to restore the two original people from such a fusion would be through a wish made via the Dragon Balls. Destroying the ear-rings would do nothing." he explained. "That however is not what I'm proposing we do, just in case your mind's getting ahead of itself." said Mar with a chuckle.
"The second use is rather much more simple. If you were to wear this on the same ear as I'm wearing mine, i.e. on your right ear, then it would confer on you the honorary title of a Supreme Kai, and also speed up your own training process through the magic inherent in this item." The Supreme Kai of the East held out the Potara Earring towards the Saiyan warrior woman. "Tomoroko of the Saiyan Alliance, warrior of the Saiyan race, mother of the Kami of Earth in the Northern Quadrant, do you accept the position and duty that comes with the position as Guardian of the Eastern Quadrant's Supreme Kai?" asked Mar of her, feeling that the situation could probably use a little bit of pomp and circumstance.
Tomoroko took in a deep breath when she heard Mar call out to her from inside his home, beckoning her to come inside. Without hesitation she did just that, opening the door and walking in, shutting it behind her to find the small Kai milling about his home, seemingly in search of something. It didn't take him long to come across a scroll which he seemed to glance over quickly before confirming something with himself. Just what was the Supreme Kai doing?
"what should work exactly?" She couldn't help but ask, watching him closely and falling silent as he resumed his speech. So this was about her guardianship after-all, and it seemed there was way more to all of this than she originally thought. First they had to get her lost power back, which would be no easy feat to accomplish in itself! Then there was this guardianship which, by the sounds of it, Mar wasn't 100% sure how to do that. Was there supposed to be some kind of magical link between the two? Here Tomo thought it would just be swearing an oath or... maybe signing some contract for her soul or something along those lines... but the more she listened, the more she found herself enthralled by everything.
"An earring can do all of that? You guys never seem to run out of tricks... with a trinket like that, who knows what kind of warrior you could make by fusing people together..." While the thought was horrifying, it was also exciting... imagine, a warrior that powerful! She hoped maybe one day she could fight someone like that... of course, that person could very well just be Caesar himself. Before her mind began to get too rampant with her thoughts on fusion however, Mar brought her concentration right back to the earring in question, mentioning that by placing it on the same ear, she would be an honorary Supreme Kai.
that caused the saiyaness to remained paused as she looked at the jewelry dangling in front of her. An honorary Supreme Kai? That was a butt load of responsibility, and a way of thinking she had frankly not thought of before when she agreed to this guardianship... Was she really ready to engage in something like that? To give her very soul to protect Mar and the other kais? She would actually close her eyes for a moment, letting all other self doubts and fears spiral around in her mind for just a moment, before pushing them away. She would open her eyes and look at Mar seriously, no hint of that hesitation in her eyes now.
"It's a big responsibility, and I'm horrified I might not live up to all of your expectations... However, if you honestly believe that I can live up to the task, then I'll willingly put what's left of my life on the line to protect you." She would say with a nod of her head, accepting the ear-ring that was handed to her. She would look at it there in her hand for a moment, before lifting it to her right ear and clipping it there.
For a moment, nothing seemed to happen, she just felt goofy now wearing a single ear-ring. Then, slowly but surely she could feel a strange pull towards Mar. Not a physical one but... something inside her felt bound to MAr all of a sudden! Like the thought ofleaving him, or hurting him would actually become painful to her. Just then, something strange began to happen...
Without Tomo's conscious decision, her ki ignited around herself, her Crimson aura beating around her like a flame, pushing her power up and up and up with every passing moment! Far surpassing the power she had initially been able to use against Mar! Whileit wasstill no where near her lost power, it was already such an incredible boost of strength! It didn't take long before her aura began to change from crimson to gold in a quick flicker of energy! Her hair would spike up and out as it flashed from black, to the same gold as her ki. even her eyes would change from black to teal just as her power spiked!
"W...What the!?" Tomo would take a step back from the sudden wave of energy that subconsciously took her over. She would look down to her hands and at the golden energy surrounding them, then back towards Mar with a shocked expression on her face, as if asking him how the hell this had happened!

The Eastern Supreme Kai chuckled a little at Tomo's notice of the powerful warriors that could be created through the Potara Fusion technique. "Indeed... the results were quite terrifyingly astounding to behold, even from here." he said, recalling the last time the Potara Fusion had been used in this Universe. He still got chills from the memory of that tremendous power that had been born that day.
But back to the present, and it seemed that the Saiyan standing before him understood the weight of the situation she was about to go through with. "I wouldn't make this offer if I didn't think you could handle it. Besides, dealing with all those Saiyans as you've done in the past is sorta good practice." the Supreme Kai of the East said as she collected the ear-ring and put it on her.
He could feel the same pull towards Tomoroko as she felt towards him, their energies mingling for a brief moment before her own energies began to flare up and spike tremendously! At least... comparatively speaking from her previous state. He blinked for a moment before chuckling as she looked towards him for an answer about what the hell had just happened to her.
"Well, I'm going to assume that its worked." he said, still chuckling. "I had a small theory that if this Guardian thing worked properly, then some of my ki would get passed into you through the connection, and act as a sort of... jump start to your own powers so to speak." the Supreme Kai of the East explained as he looked at Tomoroko in her Super Saiyan form. He smirked a little though as if he had one more trick up his sleeve. Which he did. "Now then... I think it's about time to check out that special room your daughter has isn't it?" he said, almost off-handedly. He gave his own ear-ring a slight flick as he winked at her with his new eye. "One of the perks of being an honourary Kaioshin, extended time." he said, rather conspiratorially.
"Yeah... that's one hell of a jump start!" Tomoroko exclaimed, still looking herself over in disbelief. It was to the point she was even tugging at her now golden locks to try and peek at it to just double check she was actually in her Super Saiyan form. It felt so warm and familiar to her, a feeling she hadn't had in a long time. She felt... relieved that she had achieved this form again, it was like there had been a hole created by the loss of her powers, and now it was being patched up again. She was that much closer to getting her powers back and being able to help those she cared for.
"Wow... Mar I still... I can't believe it... it's just..." Before she could get any more words out, the saiyaness had thrown herself at Mar, quite literally, as she hugged him tightly. No doubt it was quite the odd sight for any saiyan to show such affection! But with how recent days has affected her... well she didn't know how else to express herself.
It wasn't until Mar brought up the strange chamber on Earth that Tomo released him from her hug.
"Are you sure? I mean obviously I want too but... It's not too much is it?" She asked a little uncertainly.
Mar blinked as the Saiyan woman suddenly hugged him. This was definitely a surprise given what he knew about Saiyans, and the slight height difference between the two of them. Super Saiyans did tend to put on an extra inch or two. It was a position that he was sure many of her peoples males would be rather envious of. He returned the hug before she broke it off when the topic about the Room of Space And Time was brought up. The Supreme Kai of the Eastern Galaxy gave a smirk and a shrug.
"If nothing else, it would give you a chance to spend some quality mother daughter time together... something which I think you could use right about now given recent events..." said the Eastern Supreme Kai gently. In his opinion, Tomo spending a year alone with her daughter would probably be the best way for her to work out her current mental state, and also probably help Atsuko as well with the whole Saiyan family drama that there is right now, as well as improve on her Super Saiyan Three abilities. What better teacher could there be for that level of power, than someone who had gone through it before themselves?
Now, to try and get some of that Tomoroko fire back into her step. "Besides, you need to get back into practice with your Super Saiyan form. Even with the vaunted powers of suddenly becoming a teal-eyed blonde, I am still a Supreme Kai after all. Just wouldn't be seemly for the Guardian to be getting her ass kicked all the time by the one she's meant to be protecting." Mar said rather non-chalantly whilst shaking his head, giving that infamous Saiyan Pride a poke with the verbal stick. Just to be on the safe side though, he powered up as well... if only so as to not need to replace any more body parts if and when Tomoroko retaliated.
Tomoroko was feeling a tad bit overwhelmed by everything! Not only was the mind of a Super saiyan trying to push her towards rage, but she was being told she could spend an entire year with her daughter away from everyone else, except maybe Mar himself. Then there was the whole being a guardian bit which was now official. There was so much going on, Tomo really didn't know how to react properly.
" I'd honestly love nothing more than to spend a year with her, even if it is strictly for training... It's just... well I haven't talked to her in a long time, and I get the feeling I'm not the most welcome person in her life right now. I'm always going to look out for her as best I can I just... don't know... " She would say as she rubbed the back of her neck nervously. She just wasn't sure how this encounter would go... the last time they saw each other was when her little brother had died. She wanted nothing more than to be a part of her daughters life but she had to admit to herself that she was scared. Mar did have a good point though, she needed a training partner and so did Kimiko. With a deep breath she would nod towards Mar.
"Well, now that I'm a super saiyan again I have no doubt I can easily kick your butt, so I don't think you have to worry about that... but you're right, finding her might be the best thing for both of us. I just hope it doesn't make things worse after what happened with Nasu." She admitted her worries there, though was still holding back a lot of what she felt. She had to hold control over all of her emotions right now, lest the anger of the Super Saiyan take her over.
The Supreme Kai of the East rubbed the back of his head a little as Tomoroko spoke before sighing and shrugging. "I honestly don't know." he said. "The whole parent child thing... it's something I'll never really be able to grasp, given that my people... well, we're "born" from a tree, fully grown and in the case of Supreme Kai's very much aware of what we're meant to do." the Eastern Supreme Kai explained to Tomoroko with a shrug.
"But, what I do know from centuries of observing mortal life, is that there is no connection deeper than a mother and their childs. Sure it may get obscured from time to time, and appear broken... but that bond is still there on some deeper level." he said, trying to sound as comforting as he could. Rumia was probably better at this than him, to which he put it down to her being a girl. Something to do with the variances in hormonal levels and brain activity apparently... or something like that, he never really studied it that thoroughly.
Well, at least his mini-taunt had managed to stoke some of her fire back, judging from her comments. He shrugged though when she brought up the family drama. "Well, we won't know till we find out now will we? We could sit around here debating it till doomsday comes, which with the way that abomination Jarvis is going around could be any month now, or we could go pay her a visit?" he said before smirking as an amusing thought came to his head. "If you're really that concerned about the situation between you two, you could break the ice between you by comparing your job titles of Guardian and how much of a headache those jobs are for you both." he said, offering his hand over to her so that he could start the process of taking them both to Earth.
If Tomoroko took his hand, he'd smirk and nod before uttering two single and simple words that would instantly whisk them both away to Earth in the Northern Quarter of the universe. "Kai Kai." He was just glad that since North was technically dead he couldn't follow and smack Mar over the head for his actions... he just hoped that neither Whis or the newly awakened God Of Destruction discovered what he was up to... although technically he wasn't interfering with Jarvis. Yanagi he'd deal with later. Poor bastard was probably still trying to figure out the right portions for a Saiyan's basic meal, let alone the right sizes for Lord Lagerus' appetite.
"Yeah... you're right... I'm just still a little... put off by everything." Tomoroko would admit to her new charge with a sigh. She wanted to return to her base form just then and relax for a moment, but forces herself to stay a Super Saiyan. She had lost the ability to do this once, there was no guarantee that getting out of her Super Saiyan form didn't mean she would lose it again. She had to become familiar with this form again, so she had to stay in it...
She knew that Mar was right, everything he said about Kimiko and about Jarvis, they had no more time to fool around. Now that things were made official and she was his guardian she needed to get back to training, and the only effective way to do that was with Kimiko, no matter how hard that might be on an emotional level.
"Sorry, let's do this" She would say finally as she walked up to Mar and took his hand in hers. She wasn't quite sure what to expect just then, but as he uttered the two simple words she felt her very core being tugged away form his little planet. What did the future have in store for her now...
