This was going to be an interesting one. According to the message he had received, ExGen was looking for a nice little weapon they had been secretly working on, and Jack was one of the "Private Investigators" who had been contacted for the job. Currently, he was having a little chat with his employers about how much he would be receiving for the job while he walked to the building. You can't possibly expect me to take on such an important job for so little! Really? That's all a nice big company like you can pay me for it? Bullshit. Fine, I'll accept on the condition that you let me test it out after I get it back. Glad that we could come to an agreement, although I probably would have used it on one of the little thieves anyway. Anyway, I'll be there soon and you can give me some more details on the situation. Jack wouldn't be there soon, as he was already there. Walking into the building, he took note of how they seemed like such a normal place, selling pharmaceuticals and other normal crap. They were pretty good at hiding the military aspect of all their work, but apparently the robbers knew about it. That would suggest that they were hired by, or were, someone who did their research. With the description he had of the weapon, they would be able to take over a planet with enough of them, and mass production wouldn't be an issue for anyone who had the prototype. "Can I help you sir?" Jack had forgotten he was just standing in the middle of the lobby, looking all ominous and such. "Oh yeah, I have a meeting with a Mr... Kaniu, can you point me to his office?" Somewhat surprised by the name, apparently not expecting this man to be meeting with someone of high ranking, gestured to a door on the right. Walking through the door without a word, Jack found himself in a long hallway, with doors on each side and nearly no lighting. Each door had a name on it, letting you know its purpose. Bathroom, Testing Room A, Testing Room B, Research A, Research B, Bathroom, Offices, CEO Offices, Meeting Room! Thats the one Jack went in to, knowing that meetings tend to be held in meeting rooms, although he had limited knowledge in corporate matters, so they might be held in the bathroom for all he knows. Luckily, they didn't, and Jack had walked into the right room. Three men sat at the end of one table, the window behind them too bright to make out there faces. They had obviously tried to make this an intimidating setting, which wouldn't work so long as the light switch was where Jack believed it to be. Swiping his hand up the wall to his right, the light switch was flipped and the three men were momentarily blinded, as they had grown used to the darkness. "SO! Lets have a nice, normal meeting with the lights on, shall we?" With that, Jack sat down and let the three men fill him in on the situation.
"Mr. Daemon, you are here for a very special mission. We here at ExGen have a reputation to keep with the public, so we keep our weapon manufacturing division a secret from the mass population. This need for secrecy is exactly why we need you to investigate the dissapearance of a certain prototype weapon we've been designing for the military. It is a laser rifle capable of destroying buildings without overheating, and is easy to reproduce once you have the prototype. Due to this, you will need to get it back before they have a chance to research and reproduce it, otherwise we could be looking at a planet sized issue. Jack hadn't been listening to most of this, but he had gotten the part about a powerful weapon that destroys without overheating. After his brief reprieve, the man started speaking again. "We have all of our assets open to you for your investigation, and we have all of the employees suspected of selling out the company in Testing Room B, ready to be interrogated. If you need any information on them, we have dossiers prepared as well. And the agreed upon payment is 800 Zeni, correct? " At this Jack nodded his head. "I also get to shoot the gun, don't forget that part. The two men on the side then looked at the one in the middle, apparently unhappy with this part of the deal, but were ignored as the man continued. "Yes, we will let you test out the rifle in one of our prepared testing environments, now go do the job we're paying you for. The men had grown tired of this conversation as soon as Jack had started to enjoy it, but they were the ones paying him, so he had to get the job done. See you soon, Mr. Kaniu. The mans name had not been disclosed to Jack, and he took joy in the expression that Mr. Kaniu, the one in the middle, made as he thought about this. Jack had done his research on his employers, just in case they tried to screw him over like a number of past employers had. Not many of them made it out unscathed, and even fewer could be called successful in this endeavor. Anyway, looks like its time for Jack to play military again, this time as the unstable interrogator guy. He actually didn't know what those guys were called, but interrogator guy sounded good for now. So, walking into the room full of untrustworthy employees, Jack put on his best interrogator guy face.
First up was a fairly normal guy, average height, weight, clothes. He was average to an incredibly uncomfortable extent, and it was already beginning to seriously annoy Jack. "U-u-um I'm sorry s-s-sir did I do something wr-rong?" This guys was stuttering now, nice, cause thats exactly what would keep Jack from smashing his stupid fucking head in. "Deepest apologies for the inconvenience sir, but you are one of the employees who are suspected of stealing a secret weapon prototype from the company. Now, the punishment for such an act could range from being docked pay, to being really "fired", if you know what I mean. Now, you wouldn't happen to have been the one who stole the weapon, would you?" Suddenly, the man started shaking, and burst into tears from fear. "P-p-p-please don't h-h-hurt meeee!" It was truly sad that anything so wimpy lived on this damn planet. Covering the mans mouth with one hand and carrying him into the next room with the other, Jack called for the next employee to join him in the interrogation room, leaving the curled up, crying ball outside. His next interogee was a female, long black hair, sunglasses, suit. Very professional, with a powerful effect on the room. "So, I'm assuming you play some sort of power position here?" Keeping the same blank facial expression, she answered in a steady voice. "I work here as a sort of overseer for the other employees. It is my job to ensure they do their jobs, and that no one is doing anything that would go against ExGen. Hm, so this is the person who failed bad enough for Jack to get this job, nice. "So, it would be your job to ensure no one steals company property? And you have failed in this job by allowing the rifle to be stolen? Facial expression not even shifting from this, the woman answered, Yes, I failed my job as overseer by not finding out about this incident before it happened. This lady was weird, but probably wasn't his perp. That meant that this little interrogation was over, and it was time to move on to the next suspect. Walking to the door, Jack opened it for the woman and waved his last suspect into the room. This person was different from the other two, he seemed to be a fighter, muscles easily noticeable through his suit. A true saiyan, rather than these other weaklings. Sitting the man across the interrogation/testing table, Jack began the interrogation. So, you seem rather out of place here. Where did you work before working here? The man smiled a smug little smile. I was a warrior, one of the saiyan elite! I fought in many battles, and earned my way to retirement. Hm, an easily excited military veteran. Military experience makes him a suspect for spy, but the easily excitable part makes it unlikely. This interview was already over. "You can go, its not likely that you were the perpetrator we're looking for. Looking even more smug than when he walked in, the saiyan stood up and let himself out. So, there were three targets, one is an excitable veteran, one is a nervous wreck, and one is calm, cool, and always in control of the situation. It seemed pretty obvious who the secret operator was, seeing as two would be unable to keep the job a secret. So, as he reached for the door, ready to capture the obvious thief, a loud bang was heard on the other side. Throwing it open, Jack saw that the wall had a hole blown in it, an the woman had jumped out, running away from the pursuer she found in Jack.
