There was yet another high power level that Komatsu had been sensing for a while, one that matched a lot of the humans and other creatures he had met while being on the planet. He wasn't sure whether it was just another powerful human or if it might actually be the prince this time. Until now, he had just assumed it wasn't him, but as he explored every other higher power level nearby, he had no choice now but to go and investigate this one.
"I'm starting to think that the prince isn't even on this planet anymore... maybe he moved on to another planet already... there are a lot of high power levels here so many he determined he couldn't take this planet alone..." Komatsu mumbled to himself, crossing his arms in thought as he flew back towards the Bamboo forest. He had only been here once before and absolutely hated his experience as he had lost a battle against another, older saiyan warrior... seriously damaging his pride and causing him to doubt his own abilities. Thankfully, this power level felt different from the other saiyans.
As Komatsu came for a landing in one of the few clearings of the Bamboo forest, he took a quick look around him before closing his eyes, attempting to pinpoint the exact location of the power level he had been sensing.

It had been a casual day for the royal blooded saiyan, he had found himself training outside of his ship in the Bamboo Forest. At this current moment in time he wanted to take a break from the extreme, harsh environment that the gravity chamber had put on him. It was something that his body wasn't used too. It wasn't something that was easily handled, it took a lot of time and effort to get used to a certain level of gravity and already it had been taking it's toll on the young Prince. It hadn't been easy but it was something that the young fighter had to continue doing. He did wish to reach the level of super saiyan after all. Currently, he had his weights equipped along with his scouter. Though this was normal for him. He didn't really like to go far without either or. The weights made his training all that much more beneficial and his scouter let him know of incoming threats. Both of those items were quite useful to the young warrior. As it was, Athren had been doing some basic routines in the forest. He had been doing things all the way from Shadow Boxing to more intensive work outs. Push ups, sit ups, running, all of it were being checked off the young fighters list. Though, his scouter had beeped. There was something to distract him. It had approached and got quite close yet it came to a complete stop nearby, Athren didn't know who or what it was but he was going to investigate.
Athren had now lifted himself off the ground and blasted over towards the direction that the scouter had pointed him in. Once he arrived he lowered himself down, his white boots touching down against the Earth's surface softly. The young warrior examined the child, he was of saiyan descent. Even wore saiyan armour though whom was he loyal too? Either the alliance or the empire? Athren was curious about this, so he asked. "Empire or the Alliance, Kid? Of which are you loyal too?" With that being said, Athren shut up mouth. He crossed his arms tightly against his chest as he awaited the childs remark. Word Count: 369

Good thing for him, the energy signature he was feeling was coming closer to him. At least that would make his search much easier. He opened his eyes whenever he felt the presence just above him, and turned to face the man when he landed. Well, at least he was on the right track, the man was obviously a saiyan, and not some buff grunt like that previous guy was. There was hope that he would find the missing prince yet.
His question however caught him by surprise. Usually that was the first question that he asked another saiyan while here on this rock as he needed to be careful of whom he bumped in too... If this guy was from the alliance however, he had no doubt that he would recognize Koma for whom he was... Unless of course he was his idiot brother who hadn't even recognized his own kin. He had to force himself to shake the thought of his brother from his mind however as he finally addressed the other saiyans question.
"You know normally I'm the first to ask that question, but since you beat me to it I may as well answer. I serve the Empire as a guard in training. I'm guessing by your need to ask you are also of the Empire?" He questioned, not revealing why he would make such an assumption.
The kid would've claimed he usually asks that question which was quite odd. Another thing Athren found odd was that he claimed to be a guard in training. If this was the case, what the hell had brought him to Earth and who the hell was he intending on guarding? The only saiyan in the universe that usually required guards was those of royal blood, in this case that being Athren. Athren couldn't help but arch an eyebrow to this thought. He didn't need a damn guard, especially a kid. Regardless, he wouldn't let this kid down if that was the case. In the long run, maybe the young saiyan could help the younger become something great. Who know. Athren opened his mouth and finally began to speak once more. "You could say I'm aligned with the empire, I haven't been home in quite some time nor do I know when I'll return.. but, I come from Vegeta." Athren decided to keep his words quick and short. He didn't want to go into too much detail regarding the whole situation, at least until he knew about this kid more.
Athren began to speak again after a light pause, he wanted to dig into the kids motives and reasons. "I ask because I haven't exactly bumped into many saiyan's here and I enjoy knowing which are potential threats and which aren't. Though, I've gotta know kid. What the hell brings you to Earth and who are you intending to guard? Last I know, The Throne's been collecting dust." Of course, Athren had been away for so long that everything could have changed. It was very possible that a new saiyan claimed the throne and became ruler of the saiyan race. If this were the case, Athren wouldn't have been bothered at all. Word Count: 301 Total Word Count: 670

Komatsu's heart began pounding louder in his chest as he listened to this man speak. Of course, there were any number of saiyans who hadn't been back to planet Vegeta in a long time... however he was so sick of his search for the Prince that his mind began looking for reasons to believe that this was him.
"Well, so far I have no reason to believe that we are enemies... as for why i'm here... I've been given a mission by the royal advisers to find the Prince ans bring him home. You're right, the throne is collecting dust and it's causing quite the stir. I'm sure there are several of our people wanting to claim the throne, but hesitating, and campaigning on their own before making any real attempt. Forgive me if my mind is just searching for an end to my mission but... as I haven't actually met the prince... you wouldn't be him, would you?" He blurted out, silently cursing himself now. What if this guy said that he was the prince? He could be lying and Komatsu wouldn't be the wiser... but if he was telling the truth... then what? They just packed up and went back to Vegeta? He doubted he'd be welcomed back with anything more than contempt... He wasn't meant to succeed in his mission... they'd just throw him back into a prison cell and torture him again.
With his thoughts racing back to Vegeta, Komatsu began to grow even more nervous and was doing a poor job at hiding it.

Athren had listened carefully to the kid, his job was to find the Prince? Well obviously he wasn't doing a very good job of that because he was in his presence. Hell, Athren couldn't help but let out a little chuckle. It was kind of a funny situation. Though, Athren had picked up on the child being quite nervous. He didn't know why but he was going to ask for answers. If the little kid were to open up about everything to Athren, surely he'd find that the royal blooded saiyan was quite kind regarding torture. He wouldn't allow that. After he chuckled Athren began to speak. "Well Kid, You're not doing a very good job if you don't even know what the Prince looks like." Athren paused for a moment to think about everything that could happen. What if this kid was sent to bring him back home? Obviously that wouldn't blow over so well as Athren didn't have an interest for the throne any more. Athren had wanted to choose his own path in life and not live the life that was left for him.
"I'd hate to say it, but considering you seem to be growing tired of the fact that you can't find me. I'm Athren, Royal blood and heir to the throne. Consider your hunt over. Though, Why is it that you've been sent to find me? I'd have to guess and say somebody wants me back on Vegeta on the throne? Correct?" With all this being said, Athren once again went quiet. He knew he wasn't going back to the throne and if he had to fight this kid to refuse to go, he would. He'd rather it not go to that though. It wouldn't feel right, the boy was young. He was just doing a job assigned to him. It didn't sound very fair that he be pushed any further than what was necessary. Damn it, the saiyan race was getting sloppy. Why couldn't they send an adult with fully prone fighting abilities? Regardless, it is what it is. Athren couldn't change it and neither could the kid. Word Count: 355 Total Word Count: 1,025

Koma glared at the man in frustration as he was criticized. How was he supposed to know what the Prince looked like? He;d only been outside the cage for 2 years... and most of that time was spent 'training' with the other guards... He was only assigned to this team last minute to further make a joke out of him... He clenched his fist tightly, though not because he intended to fight the saiyan in front of him... of course that would change if he started to treat him like a weakling.
His fist quickly loosened however as he spoke again. Stating just how tired he was of looking for him... for him, he was right! This was Prince Athren, as he confirmed by introducing himself. His heart rose up into his throat as he looked up to the older saiyan, unsure of exactly what it was he would do now... He didn't have a scouter to tell the others that he'd found him... and frankly, he didn't care to call them...
"I uhm..." He was caught quite off guard at this point, unsure of what it was he should do... he was royalty so he should bow right? What if he was hesitating too long and he grew upset with him... This was going to end badly... he should have prepared more... he didn't really expect to find him.
"Sorry if I was rude... or anything uhm... yeah... the advisers want you to keep the throne so they... they sent a hunting party to find you and escort you back." What should he say now? 'well, let's get going then time to get back to that hell hole' didn't quite sound appropriate. What seemed strange to him though, was the fact that the prince didn't seem to be very adamant about leaving this spot...

Athren couldn't help but notice the kid clench his fist tightly, The eldest of the two arched his right brow curiously at this point. What was with this child? Sure, he was overwhelmed and that was quite understandable but what was it that made this kid seem annoyed or angry? Athren didn't know, nor would he ever find out unless he asked. Whatever it was on the kids mind, Athren wanted to know. Athren began to speak up, his tone was actually quite inviting. Athren was showing no signs of anger or annoyance, in fact the kid most likely caught Athren at his most pleasant. "Alright Kid, Firstly. I'll tell you that I'm not going back to Vegeta. I don't want the throne, It's too much.. Responsibility for me. It'll get in the way of my training and at this point in my life I can't have that happen.. Secondly.." Athren paused for a moment as he tried to figure out the right words to say, he wanted to make sure the kid would open up to him. "What the hell has you so tense? Relax a little bit, Will you?" Athren paused for another minute before spitting out some very light humour. "If you don't relax, I'll have to order you to do so." With that being said Athren would've went quiet to allow the kid to respond.
At this very moment in time, the child wasn't the only one that had a difficult time figuring out what to do. Athren would have never expected to see this day, a saiyan party was actually sent out to gather him up and bring him back? What a joke, surely his crew members must have been somewhat strong if they intended to do so? If they weren't stronger surely there was zero chance of bringing the young royal blood home. He wouldn't go without a fight, he was positive that they'd either not bring him back at all, or bring a lifeless corpse back. He'd see how this went, surely things could develop into a number of situations. Which none Athren saw issue with. If there was a potential fight just around the corner, surely Athren would find himself happy to oblige. He didn't get many fights around Earth, he had to make the best out of every single opportunity that he got to have one. He wouldn't waste them as they came.
Another thing had settled into Athren's mind at this point though, if they had been that desperate to find him. Just how bad were things on Vegeta? Surely they had gotten a lot worse if they were actually looking for the rightful leader of their race to reclaim the throne. The young warrior couldn't help but wonder how the civilization was holding up and how the PTO warfare was going, not only this but he wondered about other situations on the Planet that would require a decent leader to get out of. Just what has he missed in the past seven years? Surely, things couldn't have gotten that bad? Could they..? For a moment Athren had gotten lost in his thoughts, though he snapped out of them in a hurry to gaze upon the child once more. ~They sent a kid to get me.. Maybe things are that bad..?~ He thought to himself as he would've been prepared to listen to the childs words. Hopefully his words would make things easier on each of them, though Athren really hoped that the brat would relax and not stress out about the whole situation. It wasn't exactly a tough one to be in. It wasn't like Athren had decided to be quite hostile or angry, he was being pleasant and actually trying to get the kid through this. "Wait... what do you mean you're not going back!? You have too!" Did he really intend not to return to Vegeta? Wasn't it his duty as prince to go back and guide his people? Wasn't he proud of his royal lineage enough to go back...In all honesty he didn't care about all that, but was relying on those facts to bring him home... A cold chill ran down his spine at the thought of what would happen if he went back empty handed...
"Prince Athren... it is a lot of responsibility, but that's why you have advisers and..." He stopped talking suddenly as he frowned. The clarity of the scheme he was stuck in just now coming to light... did they know that Athren wouldn't come back? And if he did then no doubt they would just use him to take control of the throne without having to put up a real fight for it... and again, he was thrown into it as a cruel joke.
"Damn it... I... I can't relax... You don't know what's going on back there. Please Prince Athren you have to go back with me... if you don't... you might as well just kill me right here because I won't go through all of that again." He started riling himself up as fear began to creep in.

The kid had almost seemed surprised when Athren told him he wasn't going to go back to Vegeta. He began to question it claiming that he had too. There wasn't a damn thing that was going to make Athren go back, the planet and it's plans for him, his legacy were all just a waste of time. He he was putting his time and efforts into his race and the planets best interests he couldn't focus on his best interests and at the moment those were what was important to the young saiyan. He wouldn't allow himself to be pulled away from his goals simply because he was unluckily born from a Queen. He didn't chose to have this responsibility and he didn't want it. Nothing could change who his mother was, but he could damn well change who he was going to be. He wasn't fit for the throne, he was a warrior that needed to be out in the field becoming his absolute best. He wasn't going to sit around and make decisions regarding Planet Vegeta while others trained and became amazing fighters! There was just no way in hell. "I don't have to do anything, Kid." Athren paused a moment as he argued with the boy. What Athren couldn't understand is why the kid was so bound and determined to get Athren back to the throne. It really didn't make much sense at all, hell. Maybe it was a set-up of some kind? Athren didn't know. Surely, he'd be paying close attention to the brats words. Last thing he wanted to do was to be lied too about the situation, that wouldn't make the royal blooded saiyan very impressed. "I'm going to stay here on Earth for my own benefit, I refuse to go back to that place now. There isn't anything there for me but distractions and problems that aren't mine to face. The planet has done this long without a suitable leader, I'm sure it'll work itself out." With that being said Athren had another few points to retort too. All of them were regarding the same thing, it was the kid trying to convince him to head back to Vegeta to claim the throne.
Athren then replied to the kids mention of advisers and assistance. Sure, this statement would have been true but Athren wasn't the kind of person to accept help. He'd try to do it all under his own path, this was all the more reason he wasn't fitted for being a king. He couldn't handle all these people coming to him for tasks and jobs, he couldn't take being pestered by countless about this issue and that issue. That just wasn't for him! He'd lose his mind and go absolutely crazy if he were to deal with that! It just wasn't going to happen, never in a million years would Athren step up to take that much responsibility. Firstly, Athren addressed the kids formal attitude, he wasn't a big fan of having the 'Prince' title come before his name, though he completely understood why the kid had done it. "Firstly, Drop the formalities." That was Athren's first point to make, he kept this brief and simple to assure the kid understood it. "I don't need to hear 'Prince' every single time you say my name, so just keep it simple from now on. Besides, that title means nothing now." He wasn't exactly one to be formal, plus if he wasn't actually taking the throne that title had meant absolutely nothing. "Secondly, I couldn't take having countless advisers approaching me on an hourly basis requesting guidance on this situation or that situation, I prefer silence, and I enjoy my own company more than I enjoy the company of others. There's absolutely NO way, I'll be claiming that throne." Of course, this was his mindset now. He was young and stubborn.
Athren had listened to the kid carefully yet again, the child was almost begging for Athren to return with him. It didn't add up, why was this kid so desperate to bring him back? Things couldn't have been that bad on Vegeta. There was no way in hell. Athren removed his doubts about the planet going in the wrong direction, it had stood for how many years without him it would last that many more. It wasn't his problem any more and that was just simple facts. "If I don't know whats going on, Why don't you take a moment and explain?" Athren would have said this in quite a friendly tone. At this point Athren would've crouched down. His right knee would've hovered off the ground while his left foot remained firmly on the ground. He did this to make himself look like less of a threat to the child. "I want you to explain it all, what's happening.. Why you claim I should kill you. Exactly what you've been through. Speak it all and make it clear. I've got nothing but time right now." With that all being said Athren would've went quiet. His ocean blue eyes remained on the saiyan child as he awaited him to speak. Surely what he was going to say would be unexpected but than again, saiyan's always did have an odd way of getting things messed up. Regardless, Athren would be patient from this point on. Maybe he could help the kid? Who knew. Word Count: 900 Total Word Count: 2,553

"... Right, sorry." He apologized quickly as Athren told him to stop calling him Prince. While the man was keeping calm as he spoke to Koma, the young boy couldn't help but feel anxious... even though he was treating him with understanding, he felt stuck between a rock in a hard place... He wasn't sure what to do. If he simply accepted Athren's decision to stay and returned to Vegeta, then he'd get beaten again... if he attempted to force the Prince back, then he'd just get beaten down here. He could sense the power level difference and he wasn't stupid enough to pick a fight with him.
Then... what if he did stay here as well? Would they send people after him too? He knew that he was their little pet project but would they actually spend any resources to reclaim him? Of course they would, he was the perfect leverage against the alliance if they needed him. So even staying here on Earth would end up badly. He saw absolutely no way out of his situation.
When Athren finally crouched down, so that they were a little more eye leveled, Komatsu tensed up once more. He couldn't admit anything to him could he? If he found out he was actually alliance born... and the son of Natto and Tomoroko then... his situation would just get worse. He couldn't even turn to Nasu right now after the way Koma had treated him... Then, if he chose to lie about where he came from and told him only of what they were doing to him on Vegeta then he would look weak, and he wasn't sure his pride could take another hit.
"I... I can't go back if you aren't there with me... They'll lock me back up and they'll..." He paused as he clenched his fist tightly again. He would grit his teeth as he fought a silent battle with his own pride to open up. He had been surprised with the prince so far... he had to believe that he could trust him.
"I'm not strong enough... to protect myself against them. I can't advance there, and I can't become stronger when they are holding me on such a tight leash. I... I didn't lie earlier when I said I served the Empire but I'm not Empire born... and I allowed myself to get captured a few years ago... now I'm nothing but a bad joke, forced to train as a guard as an insult to what remains of my family... I just... I have no way out of this..." He admitted while still trying to remain vague. He admitted he wasn't born on Vegeta, but never mentioned the alliance or who his parents were... he tried to keep the prince's focus instead on what he was going through back on Vegeta without blatantly stating they tortured him in their free time.
Firstly, the kid had opened up with an apology. Athren nodded his head to this but didn't say a word in regards to it all. He didn't want to get off topic and he just wanted the child to spit out all the details of what was making him so tense. It was kind of hard to believe that he was being so kind and helpful to the kid, then again he didn't have any guidance as a child and it didn't exactly have Athren grow with his people skills. Hell, this kid might even make a good ally, Athren didn't know but he'd try his best to make it easier on the kid. Athren had decided to wait patiently as the child had appeared to have a hard time spitting it all out, what was so bad about it? Athren didn't know what was running through the little saiyan's mind but it had to be quite a bit as there was a slight delay before anything useful began to come out. He mentioned that he couldn't go back alone for he'd be locked up, Athren couldn't help but arch his brow to this. Why the hell would they lock him up? That doesn't benefit anybody, if they wanted to punish him they could easily send him off to a distant planet and tell him to return when it's conquered, or something else that would actually make him an asset. It didn't really make sense to Athren but he understood that things may have changed a tonne since he was last on his home planet.
The kid then finally came out with something useful and Athren took it all in his head, before he spoke he began to try and figure it all out. It wasn't the easiest of tasks but he tried his damn best. Athren came to a safe conclusion that he was from Planet Natto, his justification for this was simple. There were really only two saiyan factions in the universe that were well known and if he wasn't born empire he must've been one of theirs. Regardless of this, he was still a saiyan. Athren couldn't understand why they'd take him as a prisoner and torture him, especially to insult his left over family members? Just who was this kid? He wanted to know more, he needed to know more! "Hm.. I'm going to say you're from Planet Natto. If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me. Though, what I don't understand is why they'd capture you and torture you to insult your family. " Athren paused for a second or two, currently he knew that this kid was holding information back from him. "I want to know all the details kid, starting with your name this time." Athren paused for a moment again as his ocean blue eyes stared into the eyes of the child. "Next, I want you to go into detail about this insult to your family, exactly who is your family?" None of this had made any sense to the royal blooded fighter, Of course it wouldn't, Athren didn't have a clue who this kid was, he never would've dreamed that he'd be looking at the offspring of his mothers killer. Komatsu nodded gently whenever Athren mentioned that he was planet Natto, not voicing an opposition to this. Man, it was far easier to let Athren put two and two together than to actually admit everything. What frightened the young saiyan the most about this encounter was the ease in which he could actually talk to the saiyan prince... while he was afraid of the consequences of his actions, it was so easy to talk to him... to tell him everything... and he knew he had to be careful. Speaking too much had gotten him into his current situation.
But damn it... when was the last time he was able to talk truthfully to anyone? To actually speak of what was happening without being beaten... sure he might end up in a fight with Athren but he could fight back here... on Vegeta, they always kept him bound so that he couldn't.
As Athren continued to pry, Komatsu took a deep breath, attempting to steady his heartbeat before he would speak.
"You're right... I'm from planet Natto... and my parents are, or... were the leaders of the alliance...my name is Komatsu and I'm the youngest son of Natto and Tomoroko..." He stated finally, taking a step back away from Athren in anticipation of what was to come. He may have just learned of his parents deaths but he knew all too well how the war had ended, with the death of the Empire's Queen.
"That's why... That's why they keep me close, and locked up when they can. I'm leverage in case the Alliance attempts anything else."
Well, Athren had been right with his assumption from the kid being from Planet Natto. Hell, he even made progress as to what the kids name was. At least now he had something proper to call him by but was was said next Athren wasn't prepared for. After the kid had said who his parents were he took a step back, Athren's eyes would've went wide for a moment, he couldn't help but take a moment of silence to let the facts sink into his head. ~This KID is the child of the ones who defeated my mother?! You've got to be absolutely kidding me!~ Athren didn't know how to react to this at first, it wasn't exactly a situation he was prepared for. In all honesty, it would've taken Athren about a minute to break his silence.
Athren didn't become hostile, nor did his attitude change. It was his mothers fight and it wasn't his, what happened in the past between their families wasn't something that should effect them. Sure, it was true that Athren might have had a different mindset if he was sitting upon the throne but the cold truth was that he wasn't. There wasn't a need for him to engage a child in combat or go after the Planet Natto for revenge, that was all stupid. His mother lost her battle because she wasn't prepared. Sure, he heard that it was a two on one battle but he didn't know for sure. Facts regarding that fight had always seemed to change depending on who spoke of it. This was completely mind blowing, Athren needed a moment to figure out a proper reaction. "Well.. Uhm.." Athren would've struggled to find his place in this conversation. It took him another few seconds but he finally shook his head and snapped out of it. His face would've lit up with a faint smirk as he rose to his feet. "Well Koma, You're lucky that it was their fight and you're probably lucky that I've got no interest in the throne." Athren paused for a moment to think back to the lecture about buying ones own shoes that he had received upon the mountainside about a week or two back. "If I was trying to fill my mothers shoes, I'd probably kill you right here and now.. but.." Athren paused for another moment as he tried to figure out the proper words to put in place. This wasn't exactly the easiest of situations for him. He was taken by surprise and completely overwhelmed though he believed he was handling the whole thing alright. He wasn't over-reacting and he wasn't in a battle yet. So, that was a plus. "That isn't the case, You've done nothing to me to deserve it. You're just a brat after all." At this point, Athren didn't try to offend the kid. It was just how he spoke of younger fighters.
This is where Athren would've turned the whole situation on the positive for both of them, it was crazy. Their parents had such an incredible battle and were enemies yet Athren was about to offer shelter and safety to the younger fighter. What the hell was going on? Of course, Athren would expect the kids help if he ever actually needed it but he assumed that it wouldn't come to that. Athren preferred dealing with situations on his own. To be honest, Athren actually liked the idea of having another saiyan around. Currently, Orio was kind of a room-mate. He was in and out constantly but they had bonded somewhat, and now having another saiyan would be a bonus. "Alright, Well. Here's a blank idea." Athren spoke in a confident tone as he began to get into detail. "If you're afraid of going back to Vegeta, you can stay here. I've got a ship that'll sleep six. Currently, there's four bedrooms left uncalled for. You can claim one of them. You'll also be allowed to make yourself at home and use the Gravity Chamber as much as you like. Though, I'd expect you to clean up after yourself." Athren paused for a moment again, he thought of the kids fears about them potentially hunting him down. Though it wasn't said, surely it'd be something running through his mind. "And if they happen to come looking for you. I wouldn't refuse having a couple of moving punching bags for an afternoon."
Athren had paused again at this moment in time, his ocean blue eyes observed the kid as he was looking for any physical reaction to determine what the answer might be. "It's your call, kid." Athren would've ended the offer like this, he had another idea but he wouldn't bring that up until the future. He had a saiyan pod that he could give to the kid to make it back to his home planet, he just wanted to know a little bit more of his history. Through their parents they were connected, whether they wanted to be or not. Surely, Athren's mother would be turning in her grave if she were to witness this. Athren remained quiet for the kid to make an answer, he would've tried to be completely calm and show the kid that there wasn't any pressure. Whatever he wanted to do, he was free to do so. Who would've ever thought this was how history would play out? Two children from former enemies actually getting along, it was complete craziness. Word Count: 911 Total Word Count: 4005

It had been a very long time since Koma felt this... afraid... he almost felt as if he was on trial, awaiting the judges verdict on whether he was to live or die. It was nerve racking and it made him feel sick to his stomach. Whatever happened at this point would be a huge turning point for him... although where the point turned too was still a mystery.
As Athren began to speak, he tensed up even more, trying hard not to shake, or to let it show... he had shown too much weakness already, he had to show the prince just how strong he really was! The words that escaped the man's mouth however caught him by surprise, and he found himself staring at Athren with the same expression plastered on his face. He wasn't attacking him? After that long, awkward pause he seemed to be slowly accepting what Komatsu had told him... Just the fact that Athren called him Koma began putting the younger saiyan at ease.
"You're okay with this..?" He asked, suddenly pouting as he was called a brat. He glared at Athren though his pout at that comment which faded as soon as Athren began to pitch his idea. Once more, Komatsu found himself looking at the elder saiyan with surprise and confusion on his face. What was going on here..? Was this really happening? How could he refuse an offer like that! It would free him from the Empire's grasp, especially if Athren truly had no intention of going back! On the other hand, this could very well be a trap, something layed out by the advisers to test him.
Komatsu shook his head to free himself of that thought, seeming to say no to Athren's offer until he actually spoke up.
"For the record I'm not afraid of going back! I just don't particularly want too... I... If you're serious... I'd be honored to stay! Are you sure you want a kid like me around though..? I mean... I'm not exactly the strongest, I wouldn't want to slow you down." He stated, thinking back on the earlier parts of their conversation where Athren stated he would keep training to get stronger. No doubt he would just get in the older saiyans way... On the same token, if Athren actually involved him in his training it would be a great learning opportunity for him.
Whenever Athren mentioned the hunting party that Koma fully expected would be called, he couldn't help but finally break into a smile. His shaking had stopped, and he didn't look quite so tense.
"Thank you... if you're sure, I'd love to stay. I promise I'll make myself useful."
