The cold, unforgiving darkness had enveloped her completely. It was her only companion in this space within which she was imprisoned. Tomina tried powering up, lurching forward violently in an attempt to break free. All she managed to accomplish was create more misery for herself. A soft yellow light emanated around her, accompanied by a sharp pain that reverberated through her entire body. Tomina threw back her head, her cries of agony muffled by the metal mask that had been placed upon. Still she tried to keep herself in a powered up state, doing her hardest to push forward and break from her bonds. Her strength quickly left her though, and she was forced to power down. The soft glow faded away, plunging her into darkness once again.
Tomina lurched forward, her body hyperventilating and trembling all other. The chains around her rattled with very movement, and kept her upright. Although she was now bent at an uncomfortable angle, which she wasn't going to be able to move out of until her captors came in to feed her. If you could call what they shoved down her throats food. It was just barely enough to keep her alive. Although they were giving her less and less food as time went on.
Those sadistic assholes really did a number on me. They know exactly how to hurt me the most. Damn them all! I'm going to murder every single life form on this planet once I get out of here!
Even as those words reverberated through her head, deep down Tomina knew that it was likely never going to happen. The Brenchians had set up imprisonment skillfully. They had enveloped most of her body in a very sturdy straight jacket, and then proceeded to imprison her with the hardest and heaviest metal they had. Then they had encased her legs in a strong metal base, which was bolted to the ground. It also contained a generator and a sensor. If Tomina tried using her abilities, then it would immediately drain her energy, causing her immense pain in the process. Her arms were shackled together by a giant manacle that was connected to the dense, heavy base of the imprisonment device. She was also held up by a large amount of chains. To top that all off, they had even put a metal mask on her face, depriving her of all sight. There were slits around the mouth area, which were used to feed her. The Brenchian who jailed her bragged about how strong this prison was just before they put her in the cell.
"I still can't believe that we have to put you in the Knightmare suit. We designed it to contain Kold Demons for interrogations and easy disposal. Your strength rivals their own, so the suit will fit a monster like you just fine. You won't be able to escape from this prison. You'll rot alone and die in the darkness. Giving you a warriors death would be letting you off too easily. You're going to suffer for a long time."
Bastards..... the audacity of torturing a superior being such as myself! I will make them pay for making me suffer through this humiliation! They will rue the day they decided to give me a slow death! I will BURN THEM TO ASHES!
Tomina wasn't mad at the fact that she was defeated. It was simply the way the universe worked: the weak lived and the strong survived. Death in battle was always a possibility, and a fate that a true Saiyan would accept. The Brenchians denied her the death she wanted though, and imprisoned her in absolute darkness. But by far the worst grievance they committed against her was making her feel fear. She had felt twinges of it before, but now she was afraid all the time. Tomina was absolutely fearless when it came to battling others. What she feared the most was confinement and feeling powerless.
The feeling of utter helplessness, of being unable to do anything was completely terrifying to Tomina. She had felt this feeling several times in her life. The Saiyan-Alliance war was where she felt this fear the most. Despite her best efforts, everything important to her was taken away from her. Strangely enough, there was now a silver lining to having suffered through that even. While the absolute darkness and confinement was absolutely horrifying for Tomina, the pain she felt didn't compare rot the utter despair she had felt on that day. Tomina held onto that cold comfort as tightly as she could. It was one of the few things that was keeping her sanity intact in this prison.
Tomina heard the locks on the cell doors unlock. The sharp metallic slamming clanks it made was the sound she was the most familiar with. It looked as though they were going to "feed" her again. Although this time something different happen. She heard the sound of footsteps, followed by the loosening on one of the screws on the side of the mask. The left eyelid cover was opened up, causing Tomina to wince and instinctively closed her eye. It had been a very long time since she had seen natural light. A voice she knew well reverberated throughout her prison.
"Tch, you're a stubborn one. Most people would have given up and wasted away long ago. I've decided to give you a little reward for lasting this long. There's some news that I'm just dying to tell you. I'm sure you'll find it very.... interesting."
The cold chuckle was a clear indication that this was meant to hurt her more. Tomina had to deal with their attempts to break her emotionally before. Yet Tomina had a feeling that this time was going to be different. Still, she was a Saiyan warrior. She was mentally prepared for anything they threw at her. At least, she was sure she was ready for anything. Although nothing could prepare her for what was to come.
