It was good to be back in West City.
For the most part, anyway. Her Supidoan ally was starting to settle into both living around the mansion, as well as accompanying her to the factory she had gotten a lease from. There was potential to be had there, in actually having those she knew do their part in helping her with the shipments there, though it would take time to make a rotation.
Her school work was settled now, to the point where she was able to go back to planning things again. Now that she had the three she considered her bodyguards, covering defenses that she lacked, it meant she could pursue getting regular minions. She had the idea of talking to some of those she knew in school, though just needed to phrase it properly.
Any humans she had working for her, she envisioned would mostly reside in the mansion. It would not only give her allies something better to do with their time, but would also have the place more full of life than it currently was.
She wouldn't mind settling to just have those she personally knew to just come over, though staying with her in the first place, would save the hassle of a trip to the mansion everyday. These thoughts stuck with her as she went through her classes, where her gaze would occasionally glance at the raven-haired girl, who introduced her to her coven. Beyond the encouragement of their mutual friends, the girl had only visited her mansion once or twice.
But they talked about the trips she took away from the city often enough, and those who resided in the mansion with her, knowing that the girl was a fanatic of the supernatural. She had purposely forbid those she personally knew from even associating with her minions, should they run into them, though the girl was the perfect choice to change all of that now. Hana, was one who she had been acquainted with, a couple of classes before meeting their mutual friends.
With the girl also being apart of the reason she was a Vampire in the first place, her standing in her eyes was pretty high. If not for her still being uncomfortable at having her cousin over around those she called allies, the red-head would have been her next choice. As usual, the raven-haired girl was finishing up what they had been working on.
This was their first class of several together, and ever since seeing the girl while at their lockers, she noticed a certain excitement in her. Familiar, and to the point where she was somewhat reminded of the day she had turned.
But nothing had been said to her as of yet, making her question if there was really anything at all, and if so, whether or not the girl was waiting until their lunch break to speak about what was on her mind. Her becoming a Vampire, along with being mentored by her cousin for several weeks, brought on a change within her, both while in school and outside of school. What previous views she had about life and those around her, grew more sardonic.
So many things in life that she could so easily do as a Vampire, were the kind of issues that humans had, and one which brought on the question of what kept them different from those in space? Many of who had a uncanny resemblance, which if not for their upbringing in space, could have easily been confused to be from here on earth.
There were no transformations or the sort that she was aware that humans had. Sure they could potentially get as strong as she was, but the weaknesses that became beforehand, which she lacked as a Vampire, was what made them less in her eyes. She found pity for those she grew up with, though not where it would drastically influence her behavior.
Being a Vampire kept her confident for the most part, having her branch out and away from what hesitation she showed before, where she would have to ponder over things longer than a couple of hours. Times where she planned how things would go down in her head, but wasn't sure if it was something she could really be able to go and pull off.
There was still humanity in her however, but one that acted upon her own self-interests. With the other girl finishing off what work they had to do, and her curiosity peaking, it was best to just ask if her thoughts had been right.
"You're acting different today. Did you find out something big, recently?"
The moment the raven-haired girl had placed her paper to the side, barely leaning into that chair of hers, she had brought up the question, while reviewing the girl's paper for herself. When it came to their school work, most things were rather acceptable. Though she wasn't at all deterred from writing a bit extra, since it would outline what she didn't get, or perhaps even offer a perspective their teacher hadn't considered, or had yet to hear from volunteers.
Her question had seemed to caught the girl off guard, in what she could only assume was because the girl had planned to have rest after. Though those were plans that would be delayed at the moment, as the girl had nodded.
A portfolio was pulled out from underneath a textbook, and passed on over to her, after accepting back the work she had taken a look at. Opening it had revealed a file on a girl by the name of Ayumi Mihashi. Going off of the girl's picture alone, where the brunette was posed rather dynamically, she already had an idea of what the girl was like.
The rest of the information had confirmed it, but even without it around, she could already tell that this girl must have been energetic, from the hall monitor wristband she wore on her arm. Though nothing on the profile said anything about the reason for showing her this. Which was rather surprising, since measurements were for some reason in here.
A detail that struck warmth in her cheeks, and looking up from the portfolio, she found the same look on the raven-haired girl. It wasn't info she was curious enough to ask the reason for however, as she slid the portfolio back to her, which the girl took, clasping her hands together in a rather nervous way. Just what was going on exactly?
"She wants to...ah...meet you."
Her silent question was partially answered from the response, and as she gave it some thought of what she had learned, which was mostly about the girl's mannerisms, it had all clicked. These two had knew each other because they were both supernatural fanatics. This girl wanting to personally meet her, wanting to confirm that her existence was real.
Most likely, this brunette had wanted to become a Vampire like her. A fledgling, who if she had accepted, would be one who she had sired herself. The thought of having to bite the girl's neck, and not have that be the end of her life, was an image she found to be rather embarrassing. Even more so knowing that the girl would be happy about it.
Though what her friend was proposing, had been what she had been looking for, since recruiting her Supidoan ally. A minion that would serve her, and who would help her recruit the rest of those she had in mind to become staff.
The thought was tempting, but to change someone's life this way, while she had no qualms with, was something which this girl had to know wasn't one which she could turn back from. Not without using earth's artifacts anyway.
"Have her come to the mansion. I'll need to think about it."
Simply nodding, the girl had leaned back into her chair, that nervousness having gone away. Had that been just apprehension on revealing that proposal? This friend of hers, energetic as she might imagine, couldn't have been that bad, could she? Maybe it was the contrast that these two seemed to have with each other, knowing how the girl was when it came to exerting effort. Something as small as an assignment was exhausting for the raven-haired girl.
Yet these two seemed to have gotten along well enough for this proposal to have arise. The thought had stuck with her as she went through her other classes today, with her going over what she had in mind for this brunette.
Accepting the proposal for turning, like she had thought earlier, wasn't something she had issues with. Though the brunette would have to prove that she had reasoning and capability in order to survive, if she wished to work for her.
It also needed to be made clear that turning into a Vampire would mean giving up having children, which some would say was the biggest sacrifice of them all. No longer able to create life that was just so familiar, and never quite knowing that attachment of raising someone who was of your own blood. A literal sense, rather than metaphorical.
Adoption, no matter what views one had about it, could possibly elicit the same feelings, but it wasn't exactly the same. Those were the only downsides that were explained to her when she had turned, and what she had accepted.
It was sudden and on the spot, but wasn't a decision she'd say was regrettable. She could accomplish a lot more with the longevity that Vampires had, and that was one of the reasons people wanted to have kids, right? To leave behind some sort of legacy when they were gone, which would just repeat from there. She wanted to have more for herself.
With what she envisioned for herself in the future, and hopefully long before she would grow to outlive her parents, was something that would benefit their family in the long-run. Have an opportunity to give a better life for any future additions to their family. It would certainly be something to be thankful for, rather than to condemn.
The trip from her school, to her mansion, was one which had blurred by. Buildings and people passed her with the kind of speed she possessed, though it was hardly an effort on her part. She considered this to be like a light jog.
Getting through the security doors of her mansion, she sighed as she took off her slingbag, shutting the door behind her. The three allies she had were likely to be around here somewhere, although they were far from being the welcoming committee she expected to see, upon coming back to the mansion. Something which she hoped to change after today.
Carrying her slingbag around, she went through the halls, heading towards the kitchen, which was only just a room away from the living room. By the noise coming from inside, the Saiyan was actually with the Supidoan in there, instead of alone. Her slingbag left on the counter in the kitchen for a moment, her mind went through her list of things to do.
It wasn't anything fancy, like when she wanted to accommodate someone she took interest in, when it came to their space heritage. She just needed to prepare a couple of drinks and some snacks for this brunette to feel welcome.
"We'll be having a guest over, but she won't be fighting."
Peeking her head through the living room, her gaze fell on the younger Saiyan, who was laying down on the floor, and actively playing a game that she got fascinated with. Various zombie sounds cried out, and occasionally, the name of the game was said. Dangerous Zombie. A game where the protagonist runs from the undead and fights them off.
The Supidoan was watching things unfold on the couch, apparently having tried to recount a story of his, before the sounds of the game overpowered his voice, causing whatever he said to be droned out. She assumed so at least, judging by the glares the younger girl was giving, whenever her game's character was able to take a breather.
"Captain, I can offer you my assistance if you need it. This guest who doesn't train is just like the time I had a mission in-"
Though she had already ducked out of the room after telling those two what she needed to, the Supidoan had apparently gotten up from the couch, following after her, and recounting a tale of his without her having acquired it in the first place. No attempts had really been made to help as he had said, presumably because she hadn't said to.
But that certainly would have made this unasked story to be more bearable, as she sped towards both the pantry and fridge to grab what she had needed. Nothing of which she couldn't hold herself, though all this chatter by the alien reminded her of just how much she could use some help. The kind that a human certainly wouldn't be oblivious to.
Putting the things into a grocery bag, she was still followed by the Supidoan as she left the kitchen, and back down the hall towards where the lobby was. She needed privacy, and the best place for it was in the vicinity of her room.
"I appreciate your offer, and that is a very telling story, but it won't be necessary. Just make sure the Majin also knows she won't be fighting anyone today."
Giving her a nod and salute, having apparently said what he needed, the alien had taken off. That story of his, wasn't actually far from being what he said it would. He and that former captain of his did meet someone who wasn't much of a fighter, though the story was still much too patriotic for her and the ideals that she had for the future.
Nothing unusual for him, but it was certainly distracting. Her gaze turned to a nearby clock, which indicated that she had at least a good few minutes before those two were supposed to show up. She wouldn't say it was that long of a drive, though it certainly was much faster if those two knew how to fly, or had a speed akin to her own.
She wasn't one to keep anyone waiting, and if anything, it was the other way around. The idea of meeting them straight outside, rather than having them ring the doorbell when she was already waiting for them, was a lot more appealing.
Some would see it as an issue, or that it was giving the impression that she wasn't busy, but it was all dependent on behavior. Her raven-haired friend should have knew full well not to keep her waiting for too long.
Especially if the girl was really nervous about bringing the proposal up in the first place. Though this meeting certainly wasn't important enough to go and be reckless. The girl would likely run out of energy from even trying.
An amusing thought of having someone care that much about a meeting of hers, and an image she took with her as she opened the front door. It was heavy enough to not require an object to hold it in place, and brought along a rather cool breeze, which filled the warmth of the lobby. A nice day for most, but the sun was rather too warm for her.
One of the things about being a Vampire which seemed to be true, but the distaste of sunlight. Nothing which she would describe to be burning, but far from being enjoyable. Something she would say was rough, and wouldn't go away.
It was far from being a constant complaint in her life however, as with two years of experience, one could get used to this feeling that there was something there. But it was also easier for most of her activities to be in the mansion, and what exploration she did when outside of it, being what she considered important enough to deal with this issue.
Stepping further out of the door, there was a turning dirt path visible within the vicinity of the mansion, of which on its sides left beyond and towards some part of the woods that would go and lead them astray elsewhere.
It hadn't been immediate, but the sound of a horn honking came from a distance, where she had witnessed a rather close and speedy turn from a car that was headed here. One which she could see was that brunette driving the wheel, while her friend looked like she was holding on for dear life. The speed it was going at was far from being at a point where it could collide with the mansion, but the breaking she could see being done, wouldn't be something pleasant.
She watched, knowing someone with this kinda confidence couldn't have possibly drive like this, without knowing what they were doing. However, it did spite her knowing that someone like this actually managed to get a license.
She was at least hoping the girl had one, anyway. The car did manage to come to a rather abrupt stop, which not only kicked at the dirt in the ground, sending it flying in a few places, but also managed to avoid ejecting the safety bags. There must have been some control with the brakes somewhere, she hadn't noticed due to their expressions.
The brunette looked disappointed for a reason she could likely guess, as the two stepped out of the car in their own way. Her raven-haired friend, leaning against the door and pacing herself to avoid puking, while that brunette opened and closed the door in a rather dramatic way, that disappointment having quickly been wiped away with excitement.
"Ayumi Mihashi, nice to meet you!"
Her friend had been left behind, as this other girl had ran forward, grabbing onto her hand and hurriedly shaking it. The girl was also visibly looking her over, even going so far as to lean and presumably check for holes in her neck.
That myth about Vampires had been wrong for her. The bite in her neck just healed over like any other injury given the time. She couldn't really see how else their society would stay hidden in a world that was full of commerce.
Though assumingly not finding what she was looking for, this inspection of the girl's seemed to be done, as she stood back straight, a bright smile on her face. She had been so accurate about this being a rather lively one.
"I was really hoping you would have showed your speed and stopped the car, but there's no mistaking that you are a Vampire.
Already two things had been said by the girl, without her even having a chance to say a word. The girl had just nodded to herself like the matter was settled, however true it might have been. And the thing was, she wasn't even irritated.
It was on the line of being overly familiar, sure, but there was reasoning there. Which was really the most important thing she could ask, when it came to finding those she wanted to work under her. Especially with the chance of death.
"So watcha got there?"
The grocery bag she was carrying, which visibly outlined the food and drinks inside, was pointed at instead of grabbed, so there was apparently still boundaries for this girl as well. Her gaze had went besides the girl as their raven-haired friend had walked up, looking between them, expression still not as relax as she was used to seeing.
"Just some food. You're free to swap with something else from the fridge if you wish."
Handing the bag over to the girl, who happily took a look inside, shuffling things around, she had gestured for the two of them to follow her on inside the doors. Closing the door behind her as they all went in, what excitement the brunette showed for the food, was forgotten for a moment, as she had gone and taken a look around the mansion.
"This place is pretty sweet!"
She definitely liked this girl.
