Cryonia didn’t let go of Hisashi’s hand the entire walk to her place. It would have been easier for them to fly, but Hisashi was frightened by that process. Complicating manners was that Hisashi wasn’t immune to the effects of the cold like Cryonia was. The ice Elemi did all she could to keep Hisashi warm during all of this. Fortunately the weather was fairly clear, so they managed to reach Cryonia’s home within an hour. The ice Elemi had converted a cave into a place to stay, installing a thick metal door to keep the cold out. After they made it past that, Hisashi would find herself in a living area. There was a kitchen on one side and a living room on the other. There was a hallway that led further into the cave, with a few doors carved into the walls. There wasn’t much there in terms of decoration there except a picture on the wall that displayed some kind of space station, a closed laptop on the short table in the living room, and a T.V. Cryonia let go of Hisashi, walking over to where the fireplace was.
“You can dry yourself over here. You must be freezing after being out there for all this time. Is there anything I can get you to drink? Coffee, tea, something else? Make yourself at home and don’t worry about making a mess. I don’t get many visitors here, so it won’t be the end of the world if you make the place a bit messy. I don’t expect you to do that though: you’re a very well behaved young lady.”
Cryonia took a lighter off the fireplace mantel, turning it on with a click to spark the flame into existence. Soon she brought a fire to life in the fireplace, the flames crackling as they burned the logs within them. Cryonia out the lighter back on the mantel, then turned around to give the young Elemi hybrid a friendly smile. It was nice to have Elemi company again. Her work kept her away from her home for long periods of time, so she didn’t get to interact with her own race as much as she would like to. Besides, it could get pretty lonely doing research on her own.

Hisashi felt just fine temperature wise throughout the entire walk to Cryonia's lovely little abode. If any parts of her were cold, it was her fingers and her face, the only two uncovered parts of her body. Her tail did feel cold, but in such a way that it wasn't noticeable unlike her fingers and cheeks, the former feeling a bit sore whenever she gave them a good flexing. Once they were actually inside Cryonia's home, Hisashi could already feel her fingers and face warming up. It made for a very welcome change. Her eyes went wide looking at the photo and the laptop. Hisashi lived a very technologically minimalist lifestyle out in the woods with her father, she had never ever been this close to a laptop to get a real good look at it, and the photo on the wall was of something completely new to her.
The little wolf stared at the laptop and the photo, alternating her awestruck gaze between the two for a solid minute. The click and spark of the lighter made her jump slightly, bringing her attention back to her surroundings. "What-? Oh, uh.. Tea would be just fine, thank you." She reached up behind her head, rubbing the back of her hair and flushing lightly from embarrassment, a light shade of red somewhat warming up her freezing cheeks. She took a deep breath and let it out as a huff, letting the color dissipate from her cheeks before moving over to the fire Cryonia had just lit. When her hands felt warm enough, she would bring them up to her face and rub at her cheeks.
Cryonia smiled as she watched Hisashi’s reaction to her current home. Her awe and innocence was rather cute. It turned into downright adorable when she blushed in embarrassment. Although Cryonia had no idea why she would be embarrassed. The Ice Elemi walked over to the kitchen, taken out a tea pot and pouring water into it. Soon enough she had it all set up, and turned the stove on to heat it up. Cryonia then walked over to the living room, taking a seat before looking over at the wind Elemi.
“Is this your first time staying in a place like this? You did live a rather isolated life after all. I wouldn't be too surprised if everything here was new to you. You can stay here as long as you like. I’d enjoy the company: it gets a bit lonely here sometimes.”
Cryonia gave Hisashi another friendly smile. She was going to make sure that the hybrid Elemi would feel at home here during her stay. She was a very welcome guest, so Cryonia was going to treat her nicely.

One of Hisashi's ears twitched hearing the 'click click' of the stove turning on. Being unfamiliar with that noise, she peeked into the kitchen for just a brief moment to keep staring in awe at things she had never seen. Sure, she had seen a stove and owned a stove, but it was far outdated in comparison to what Cryonia had. The one she had required firewood or charcoal, so it didn't have the 'click click' of the gas inside the stove turning on. When Cryonia turned to return to the living room, Hisashi dipped out of sight and went back to warming herself near the fire trying to act as if she hadn't been staring at the stove like it was the holy grail of all one's cooking needs.
It was far from such a thing, but she felt like she had been spying on some kind of- in her own words: 'top secret technology thingiemahbobber.' Truly, Hisashi was the living definition of a sheltered child. Stuck in the real world equivalent of Feudal Japan.. Minus most if not all the crazy traditions, of course.
Cryonia had noticed Hisashi reacting to the stove turning on, amused by the awe that she was displaying. If she was this impressed by the simple things, she couldn’t wait to see her response to much more complicated things. Cryonia walked on over, sitting next to the wolf girl on the couch. She crossed her legs, making herself comfortable as she glanced over at her guest.
“I take it that this is your first time seeing a gas stove. Or most of the stuff in that kitchen. You’re in a new world outside of your comfort zone I imagine. There’s nothing magic about any of this. Except maybe your reactions to all of this.”
Cryonia smiled softly at the wolf girl. She couldn’t help be tease her a little bit. Hisashi had the cutest reactions.

Hisashi was only now realizing that having her sword slung across her back was making sitting on a couch very uncomfortable. Because of the position, the tip of the sheathe could poke her right in the butt and that felt all sorts of wrong. Shifting a bit, she pushed her hands under the belt that kept her sword in place and lifted it up over her head. Seeing no real good place to put it that wouldn't cause her some sort of discomfort, she placed it propped up against the couch beside her legs and was then finally able to lay back. "It is all new to me, yes.. I've seen a stove, but never one so complex and sleek as that." The young wolf looked towards the picture of the space station and then down at her clothing, one of her ears twitching to offer a brief glimpse of the split second of disappointment and anxiousness she felt. "It makes me wonder how my old-fashioned ways would be able to combat those who are.. up-to-date. I don't want to have to change the ways I'm so familiar with just to be able to put up a proper fight." She wrapped her hand around the sheathe of her weapon that lay propped against the couch beside her feet, as if seeking some security in it. The pup was able to find some security in the smile she was given, as well.
"It's my mother's sword.. To think it could be easily broken by something so out-of-this-world to me is incredibly concerning." Though she wasn't very tech-y, she still had an imagination and thus could imagine what her sword would look like. Cleaved cleanly in half with the metal near melting where it ends. Or perhaps even shattered by another sword, one of more quality and technological making. As silly as such an idea might be, it made her visibly shudder, her ears going flat against her scalp as well. "I want to be useful, but I'm not too confident I can be as I am now.."
Cryonia simply watched as listened quietly as Hisashi talked to her about her lack of experience with technology, and her concerns over her abilities in the face of new technology. That she felt old and outdated in the face of everything. Cryonia learned forward on the couch, shifting her gaze to the far wall. She had a very thoughtful expression on her face, despite the fact she was looking at a blank part of the wall.
“Technology has less of a roll in combat then you think. Most of the feats that technology can give in a fight can be performed by manipulating Ki. In terms of items that would change the tide of a fight, very few things, such as certain medicines, have a significant impact. Every other advancement in technology is used in other fields.”
Cryonia reached over, patting Hisashi on the head a couple of times. She turned her head and gave the wolf girl a reasssuring smile.
“Whenever you clash with an opponent, it pits your energy against theirs. As you get stronger, your blade will become stronger. When you use your Ki to enhance it, it both reinforces and sharpens it. If you feel like you need to become stronger, then you just have to keep at it until you’re at the level you need to be. There’s no point in letting your doubts get the better of you. There are beings out there much stronger then you and I put together. One day you’ll be able to match them though, given enough time and training. You and I have more time than most.”

Hisashi smiles back, most certainly feeling reassured by the other Elemi's kindness. She eased up and relaxed with a sigh as her head was given some muchly needed patting. She craned her head towards the hand petting her head, smile never fading while she nuzzled her tilted head against Cryonia's hand. "Thank you, miss. I'll make sure I keep up on my training then.. though now that we're on the subject, I hope I'll find a good teacher. Preferably an Elemi one, too. But beggars can't be choosers." The wolf sighed and readjusted her head. It was much easier to not let all the silly things on her mind pass her by with Cryonia around, she was quickly learning.
That was until a particular reoccuring thought of hers crossed her mind and made her furrow her brow in mock irritation. Grumbling, Hisashi muttered to herself in a hushed tone. "I might just find my mother way out there on space.. See if she'll know or even want me.."
Cryonia just let Hisashi nuzzle against her hand. She found it odd that someone like this was seeking to get stronger. She seemed content with her current existence, and didn’t seem to have a reason to try and improve herself. The Ice Elemi found herself envying the young wolf Elemi for that. She longed for the days where life could be simple again.
“I’m sure you’ll find a good teacher, and your mother someday. You’re young, and have a long life ahead of you.”
The tea kettle began to whistle, prompting Cryonia to stand up and walk over to the stove. She turned it off, getting out two teacups and setting them on the counter.
“Is there any reason to suspect that you mother wouldn’t accept you now? Maybe she left you behind on Earth because she had no other choice in the matter. I don't see why she would reject you at fhis point.”
Tomina poured the tea into the cups, then gathered some things to flavor the tea further. She turned her head around and called out to Hisashi.
“Would you like anything else in your tea? A lemon or something else to flavor it?”
