Heading to the End of the Road! Conquering the Snake Way!

The scenery didn’t change one bit even though Galen had been flying for hours with his ki aura flared, so he could use all the speed available to his base form. It was funny to think something so absurdly long as the Snake Way could even exist; maybe the universe was indeed deeper and more mysterious than Galen could’ve ever dreamt about. ”I wonder if the Kaioshin live around here… This place is so big… So… Where is heaven and hell supposed to be? If there’s nothing until I reach this King Kai’s place, I wonder if is even practical to move around in the otherworld…” he thought while scratching his cheek with his index finger, with a quite curious look on his face.

In any case, he couldn’t even sense any energy signature anywhere near him and he was quite competent at sensing it, going as far as to be able to notice people all over the galaxy should he focus for long enough. ”I wonder what kind of place it will be… Somehow I’m picturing something like a godly version of the Orin Temple! Hahaha! It would definitely bring back some good and nostalgic memories… And once I’m done here, I will try to look for mom and dad! It will be so nice to see them again…” and the prospect of meeting his family gave energy to his soul, but then this excitement faded away as he was reminded of his own death,

”I wonder if I helped Master Jie in the end… And honestly, I wonder if there’s really a point in training at all… I couldn’t do a thing against Caesar and even though I did beat Shizen, she never was much of a warrior… I’m nothing compared to that Cervez guy, or even that Komatsu and Nasu… Can I really protect the Earth as things currently stand? Shouldn’t I just accept my fate and stay here, in the otherworld?...” but then he shook his head and frowned his brows, trying to recover some of his resolve. ”No! There’s no use thinking this now. I will train and once I’m done with this training I will think about it again… If King Kai is truly that incredible, maybe he can help me become relevant… Maybe he can help me become a true capable warrior!” and that glimpse of hope was enough to make him want it from the bottom of his heart.

Galen desired no spotlight, but the true power to protect his beloved world and his friends, as he had promised all of those who crossed his path. And he wasn’t going to give up before giving his all.

Another couple hours had passed and yet he didn’t seem to be making any progress and that was beginning to get to him. ”Oh my… I don’t have the slightest of where I am… Am I even halfway through it?! At this pace I will tire before I can finish it… Maybe I need to increase my speed… Alright…” the human decided and nodded to himself. Further enhancing his ki energy, he gave it a little boost in order to be able to cover more distance in a shorter spam of time.

The burst of energy have him a hell of a boost to his morale too, since he was feeling a bit frustrated he saw no end to the road. ”It’s impressive… I need to tap into my inner reserves to reach what Caesar has on his base form… He truly is a monster and to think he is not the only one… I mean, Komatsu is even stronger than this, and his brother is on a whole other level… I wonder if I can ever find a way to fight against the likes of them… King Kai, please give me some hope… I do want to keep on protecting the world, but I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed right now…” he sighed deeply, with a concerned expression growing on his face.

The trail of blue ki energy was left behind him as he pierced through the skies of the otherworld, heading toward King Kai’s planet. Hopefully he would be arriving there soon, but he still couldn’t sense any ki energy and that made him believe he was still miles away from his final destination. In truth, thinking about the road back also made him feel a bit anxious. How long would it truly take for him to arrive? The same environment all around him only helped further enhance his anxiety.

But he couldn’t give up! He wouldn’t give up!

The Snake Way had no end and Galen was starting to get tired. At this point he spent a couple hours just walking through the road, others jogging or sprinting through it only to give it another shot by flying it and, still, apparently it was far from over. He did find an ogre in a cleaning machine who said he was near the halfway point and that was a mix of relief and frustration to the human. ”While I’m happy I know where I am now, It’s so frustrating that everything I’ve been through this is only half! Climbing Korin’s Tower for the first time was piece of cake comparing to what it is to go through this challenge! But… Again… I shouldn’t allow my motivation to dwindle! Climbing Korin’s Tower grants a hell of prize, then, proceeding a bit further to the Timeless Lookout is even more amazing! I should look at this obstacle as an even higher conquest and thus, the prize will be proportional! Yes! I’m getting all fired up again and this is good! Hehehe!” and with a renewed smile on his face, the human once again flared his light blue ki aura and took the skies of the otherworld.

His speed was incredible and now that he knew he reach half his journey, he wouldn’t let anything affect his will power. He could already sense some energy signatures really far away from where he was, but coming from the direction he was heading. It was still too far for him to be able to recognize; unknown to him, one of these energy signatures belonged to his Master under the Turtle School, the saiyan named Cornatto, who Galen refers to as Master Kame, but soon enough he would have this bittersweet surprise.

The human pierced through the skies again, leaving nothing but the trail of energy behind him.

His hopes were answered as, in the distance, he saw a tiny sphere and the end of the Snake Way, the tail of the serpent. Galen’s smile widened as much as he could and his eyes followed. ”That’s it!” he exclaimed in excitement. Finally he could sense the energies there and surprisingly, one of the energy signatures was absurdly familiar and that made his expression change from excitement to shock. ”W-what?!” he gulped, feeling shivers running down his spine. ”That Ki! It’s Master Kame… B-but when, how?!” he asked himself as he was still too far away to actually ask him that.

In truth, Galen and Cornatto ended up dying at pretty much the same time, so he was a bit too busy to pay attention to what was going on at Yunzabit Heights and he failed to notice his Master falling in combat against the Saiyan Galactic Kingdom. But there was no use to be asking himself what happened when Cornatto was just there, able to answer the question on his own and, feeling even more motivated to reach his final destination, Galen flared his aura once again and darted towards the tiny planet that was the home of King Kai.

He was a bit surprised the planet was so small, definitely smaller than the Timeless Lookout. ”Wow… I was expecting something much… Larger… Imposing… Well, can’t really judge a book by its cover… Guess those absurd buildings are a mortal thing… Makes sense in the end…” he shrugged a bit, chuckling at the thought that the afterlife had much simpler and smaller things, while in the living world, those temples were usually large and fancy. The irony was incredible.

”Here we go!!” he shouted as he approached the tiny planet. He would be arriving there in no time now.

His heart was beating like crazy as the excitement took over him, almost as if all the butterflies in the universe had been set lose inside his stomach. As he approached the small yet grassy planet, he could already imagine how wonderful it would be to train not only with King Kai, but also with his Master and friend, Cornatto. ”This is going to be great! Even though I’m still sort of sad Master Kame died, but… Well… Fate works in mysterious ways and maybe it was our destiny to meet here so we can train together and, at the same time, I may be able to finish my training under the turtle school! This is so exciting!” he thought to himself, already letting go of the sad sensation he felt when he realized Cornatto had died.

However, as he approached the planet and to his surprise, he was dragged by its increased gravitation force, which exceeded Earth by tenfold. And since Galen had never trained under increased gravity, he was caught off guard by it and dragged towards the planet with full force, crashing on it hard. ”Holy cow!!! WOW!” he exclaimed as he hit the ground with full force, creating a small crack beneath him. ”This is so embarrassing…” the human thought; the first second he reached the planet was while he was plummeting to the ground in a thud.
