Yurdu "looks like you are out of time"
|
Personality
Yurdu is unlike the popular image of his kind, of a stone-cold assassin all about the business. The Gerowdr is quite young in terms of the millions of years his kind usually live, and therefore is quite reckless. Instead of abusing his timeskip to win a fight as fast as possible, the Gerowdr prefers to give his opponent a chance by going fist to fist, using his timeskip sparingly in order to conserve stamina. In this regard, Yurdu can almost be compared to a thrill-seeker, skating the edge of danger rather than avoiding it entirely. In battle, Yurdu usually toys with opponents, attempting to humiliate them and generally prove himself to be utterly superior.
In regards to interpersonal interactions, Yurdu usually comes across as blunt, selfish and altogether standoffish. Decades of solo work and betrayals have made him reluctant to trust anyone not of his race. Additionally, the Gerowdr usually possess a blatant disregard for any laws binding the populace of any planet he visits, whether it is casually stealing a ship or murdering a target in broad daylight, Yurdu simply does not fear retribution enough to care.

Backstory
Yurdu was born a century and a half ago on one of the Gerowdr’s worlds, deep in space. As per the custom with his society, he was taken from his parents shortly afterwards to be trained in the arts of combat and assassination, gradually increasing his control over his race’s inherent ability to manipulate time. It was a long difficult process, but by the end of it, Yurdu and his classmates had the ability to pause time for a tenth of a second, not bad for a few younglings. After his graduation from this academy, Yurdu and two of his friends, Kata and Udar, were assigned under a senior Gerowdr to hone their abilities even more. The ability to pause time was formidable, but without the speed to back it up, the technique was little more than an oddity.
Over the next twenty years Yurdu and his allies ventured across the galaxy, taking on mission after mission. Some were simple, such as assassinating a witness, others more difficult, such as destabilizing a government. Everything seemed to be going swimmingly, and the three were on track for graduation with honors. However, Yurdu was still…. unsatisfied.
What was the point in carrying out these endless contracts and missions by abusing the genetic advantage of his kind? When Yurdu utilized time-skip, no barrier could halt his progress, no proven warrior could halt his advance, all fights were as easy as strolling down a country lane. It was all just so pointless.
Upon his first solo mission, Yurdu tried something new, hoping it would give him a different viewpoint on the situation. Throughout the twists and drama of the assassination, the Gerowdr avoided using timeskip, relying entirely on his own personal power. It was messy, but altogether more enjoyable than the simplicity of the silent assassination. As Yurdu looked over the smoking building, he smiled for the first time in a while.
For decades Yurdu traveled the cosmos, taking on mission after mission, but only the ones that interested him. He became known as a bit of a wild card among the assassin community, always to be kept at arm’s length. As Yurdu neared his one hundred and fifteenth year of life, the young Gerowdr took a mission on the far side of the galaxy, to assassinate some warlord or another. As he buckled into his ship leave, he was unaware of the subtle sabotage it had endured, reprogrammed to bring the mercenary to the most dangerous place in the galaxy, the Sayian homeworld…..or at least that’s what was intended. Instead of this, his ship, damaged from the long journey, took the nearest available option, Namek.
