It was another quiet day in the office for Ermine, East City wasn't a particularly corrupt place, but he did get business from time to time. Of course, he was open for business today, though the chance of getting a new case any time soon was unlikely, people just don't go missing without a trace, and most just call the police first. Still, maybe it was his passion, he was ready to go at a moment's notice regardless. He sat at his desk quietly, sipping coffee and thinking to himself again...He found this happening a lot for some reason. Maybe he was just a naturally deep thinker.
"Another day, huh? And after that run-in with those thugs, I'm just gonna stay? Sheesh...Do I really think these people need that much help? I should have cleared out days ago..." He simply shakes his head, amazed at himself for being so...Selfish, towards an entirely unselfish decision. It was baffling to him. "I should know better, really. Those four were push-overs. What if someone walks through that door right now, ready to kill me? Don't think I'd be as lucky. but on the other hand...Maybe I'm looking at it with too much pessimism."
Ermine looks over at the little tube television perched on a mantle in his office, just watching the various news reports, hoping to see some kind of case on the TV. His door is unlocked and open to anyone, and yet...It's so quiet, only the rain outside. the wall clock, and his televison were putting off sound. Honestly, he gave up living in homes a while ago, he pretty much lives in this office, now... "Godoka...If this day gets any more boring I might just start kidnapping myself to give me a case to work with. I'm not supposed to be sitting around watching television!!" He stands up out of frustration, puts on his trench coat and heads out onto the street outside his office, the rain was cold, but it helped him think, oddly enough. Plus maybe if he went looking for it, the excitement would just come to him...

"...." The silence of the night went untouched and unscathed by noise. His mouth practically wide open, a stream of drool leaking from then corner and onto his pillow. Gross, but that was him. As his body was completely sprawled out and comfortably so, he wasn't alone in his bed. Nay, he had a little guest with him. Her body laid across his chest, face put down into his chest and drooling on him as well. It was none other than Shinko, Gouken's new partner and pet. Her tiny pug demeanor casting a spell of total infatuation and love for her. And it was only the second day! Already, he felt like she was the doggo for him! However, as day had begun to cast over the world and clouds rolled in, as did Shinko. Rain pouring down against his house and the beating sound of water against his window had caused her to awaken rather sluggishly. Immediately padding his chest and licking his chin, Gouken had tried to move away. Turning his face to the east, but his attempt in vain as she licked his nose from there. The west, having the same effect. Finally, he just had to wake up. Grumbling a bit, Gouken had sat up. Making Shinko roll down onto his lap. The pug panting and appearing to be quite happy. "Ah..good job, tiny. Ya got me up. And it's pretty early, too." He commented. Picking her up from under her front two legs and placing her onto the floor. Pointing to her food and water dishes as he himself made way to the bathroom. Cleansing his face of the dog spit and slobber as well as fully wake himself up. The process had taken just a few minutes.Although, in those few minutes, as he had come out it was apparently enough time for him to find his pup chewing on his clothes.
Seeing as Shinko was chewing on one of his shirts, Gouken scratched the back of his neck. She had her own toys..oh well, she was a pup. He could let that slide. No big deal, he already had his other outfits. Walking over, he had picked out a black shirt and blue denim jeans. Slipping on his favorite leather jacket, the sheep's wool atop the collar always kept him warm. His sneakers slipped on and tied tightly so that they wouldn't fall or slip off when he was moving. His head craned to the side, looking out to the forest being drizzled upon by the soft rain. Picking up Shinko, and putting her in his back pack. Opening the biggest pocket and placing the straps over his shoulders so that the pack would be on his chest. It was like one of those makeshift baby holsters. It was then that he actually set out after locking his door. Flying to East City in a relative few minutes. Picking Shinko out of his bag and putting her on the floor. The puppy remaining by her side as they walked about. For a weekend day, the city was pretty boring at fist glance.

It doesn't take Ermine very long to spot him landing down, he knew a Saiyan when he saw one, and that was definitely one...Another assassin was his only thought, he keeps calm and slips into an alleyway to avoid detection, hopefully they won't scour his office...Not like last time, anyway. He immediately sets to work on putting out an afterimage, and gets in cover behind a few trashcans to hide, he's not going to be an easy target for another hitman, he thought... Lord...Maybe I should have left after all, an assassin this soon? Well I'm not going to go down that easily..."
Instead of hiding, he changes his mind, he's quickly on the move as he takes the various alleyways to double back behind this so called "saiyan hitman", Ermine peers out from the alley, watching his every move, waiting, hoping he's evaded detection. He wasn't certain, sometimes hiding wasn't enough. He was certain he'd have a back-up plan, however, if it came right down to it. And failing that one? He'd just have to fight his way out. He wasn't about to go back to Vegeta, or die, for that matter. For now however, he chooses to play it cool and watch only.
He was already feeling that usual pain, the one he gets when he's forced to remember Vegeta. It was all too familiar, something he hated. He only knew he'd be glad to be away from that feeling, to be able to relax again. He wanted excitement, but maybe he should have been careful about his wish, he's got it, right here and now. He knows he's gotta deal with the cards he has, though, he won't back down if he's going to die. Of course...The one thought that didn't strike him was that this person wasn't an assassin at all. The one thought he couldn't afford.
PL: 48,500 PL: 12,125 w/ weights. [-75% of PL.] Action: Walking the dog~ Word Count: 321. Total Word Count: 859. Whistling a slight tune, the young hybrid had shoved his hands into his pockets. Eyes looking down to the floor, carefully keeping watch over the infant staged puppy. Making sure she wasn't running into danger or about to he harmed by anything. Then again, walking the dog should have been one of the more simple tasks he could handle while being a pet owner. Though, his eyes would dart up to make sure he wouldn't be hurt or walk into traffic anytime soon. Though, the during one of the few times that he would look up, he had noticed something move through the corner of his eye. A blur almost, going into an alley and leaving a afterimage of some type. This peaked his interest. "Shinko," he called. The word, name, causing the pug to peak her head and look curiously to her buddy. "Sit." No reaction. "...Stand." That was the ticket. She quickly put her butt to the ground and sat. What a basket case of a dog.
"Are you stalking me?" Gouken called out. Turning his cheek and looking behind him. Whatever was there couldn't have had escaped that quickly without making a sound. He punched a dinosaur in the mouth for Christ sake, he knew when he was being hunted or watched. Standing tall, it seemed his expression dropped to that of a serious individual. The rain only adding to him. He didn't like the fact that someone saw him as a threat despite being a resident and naturally bred male who was born on the land. Especially nt someone who was born an entirely different planet. But, he didn't know that. "If ya wanna tell me somethin', come to me. I dont bite. I don't think Shinko does either, but she can slobber and spit.~" He joked.

Ermine steps out from the alleyway, calmly, but cautiously. "I don't have anything to say to a saiyan. That's what you are, right? That kind of power...I'd recognize it anywhere. If you're here to kill me, and just bluffing, I hope you can answer me this; Are you some kind of Elite?" His stature calms slightly, he knows now that whoever this is, he's not attacking right away...But Ermine's guard isn't completely down yet. He's staying as cool as he can in this situation, though deep down he's a ball of nerves.
As the rain beats down on the two of them, Ermine keeps his distance, but finally begins speaking. "Let's say you're not bluffing. Maybe you're just here casually and it's nothing about the Saiyan Empire. How can I be sure? There have been plenty of Saiyans who've bluffed trying to ice me. I'm not going to hurt someone who's innocent, but I won't hold back if those imperial goons are after me." He's taken notice of the dog... ... Would a coldblooded Saiyan carry a pup around? It seems odd to him, like maybe he's missing something, and yet, while he's been bluffed to by pretty convincing enemies before, maybe he's wrong this time.
He can't put his guard down, though, it's almost a kneejerk reaction at this point, and while he might not mean any harm, he can't be sure who's good or bad when it comes to saiyans, known or not, all he needs is a bad memory and it's hard to convince him otherwise. " ... That yours? Never seen a saiyan befriend an animal. They usually just eat them." He gives a sigh. "Maybe I'm making a mistake, but I'm going to buy your bluff, real or not for now. You don't owe me information, but tell me; Who are you, exactly?"
PL: 48,500 PL: 12,125 w/ weights. [-75% of PL.] Action: Conversing~ Word Count: 201. Total Word Count: 1060. "Yeah. Shinko is mine." He answered plainly. Turning his body to face the direction to his stalker. His hands remaining in his pocket. This guy seemed a little strange, paranoid even. Like he was on the lamb, the run, trying to escape someone. He said the Saiyans, the race Son Gouken's roots were tied too. And he called him some type of Elite. Also, that he was suspicious of Gouken holding up some type of farce dedicates toward fooling jim and enabling him to enact a death battle unto him. What a weirdo. "Anyway, I'm a Saiyan. Part Human, but the Saiyan bit is there. I like to think myself as a regular Human being, though. Listen, you're obviously.." His eyes wandered to Shinko. The pug had moved from her sat down position and was peeing on the road. "Get back here when you're done, Shinko! Come!" He called, the pup sprinting back to him after finishing her business and sitting down.
"Anyway. Yeah, hey, I'm Son Gouken and that's Son Shizuka Shinko. Triple S. She's a sweetheart, but she's tiny." He commented.

Ermine looks at him with pure surprise. Amazed at how someone could be so...Laid back?? "So, half human. there's no way you're with the Saiyan Empire, then." He gives a sigh of relief, letting himself relax. "Sorry, wouldn't believe how much I deal with that kind of thing sometimes. Son Gouken huh? The name is Ermine. Ermine Greis. Private Detective." He approaches for a handshake, though...Cautiously as he may have roused a bit of hostility. "Just so we're clear, I'm not the type to fight someone who doesn't have a problem with me." Upon stating that, he closes the gap and shakes his hand.
"I was looking for excitement, guess I found it." He doesn't know what to make about this guy "Gouken", he's not like anyone Ermine has met before, certainly not like someone who can claim to have anything to do with Saiyans. Regardless, he's curious about that statement...What was obvious about him? "What exactly did you mean when you said that? What about me is so obvious to you? I'm curious of this." He wouldn't press further if he didn't think it was important, but for some reason it seemed very important to him.

Gouken's hand slapped onto Ermine's palm, fingers wrapping around the other males. He looked at him, dead in his eyes and showing nothing but pure friendliness and friendship. Shaking his hand lightly with a grin before releasing him and returning his hand into his pocket. Crouching down, the young man picked Shinko up. Holding her in his arm. Interestingly, and adorably, her legs began swinging. Running in the air like a robotic pet. Maybe she wasn't all that bright..shaking his head, though, Gouken chuckled in a gruff grunt. Talking about fighting someone innocent.
"Ah, trust me. Fighting someone like me would be a bad time." He commented. "Oh, yeah. You make it kinda obvious that you're on edge. Like you're running from someone or something. I'm not gonna ask you to shed light on it, though. So don't worry."

He simply shakes his head, maybe he was releived. Maybe he was just baffled, regardless, he was able to relax around someone that powerful for once. "Well, I guess you're not wrong about that. I have my reasons. I certainly hope you never have a reason to fight me, doesn't seem like you will."
Their conversation is interrupted as an alarm rings out and people begin yelling...With sirens on the horizon it seems someone is robbing a bank. In this city? He was a Detective, not a hero, but...He knew he was crazy for doing this, he rushes off towards this bank, ready to fight.
As he arrives on the scene, some hooded people are already in a firefight with police, it's a dangerous stand-off that could end badly without outside intervention, he hurries over, flying up to the roof top to watch closer. If he was going to join in to this, he was going to try and get no one killed because of it.He drops down behind the bank robbers, simply knocking one out by a blow to the head, they were just average humans, thankfully it didn't take much. But...It seems like an oddly large team of thieves...But as he continues trying to dodge bullets and punch them down, he has no time to think that over. "Guess you think you're pretty good, huh? If you crooks have killed someone, you'll regret it."
His words don't seem to mean much as they continue attacking, eventually overwhelming him, despite his best attempts. It's getting dangerous, and he has to do something fast or it could be bad for him. Though thankfully this wasn't his first time facing down guns...
PL: 48,500 PL: 12,125 w/ weights. [-75% of PL.] Action: Save the day! Word Count: 375. Total Word Count: 1600. "Likewise! I'd hare to bash you down for no good reason, especially if you work for the city. I like this place, y'know." Gouken replied, taking note of a few key features and distinctions put up by his newly acquainted friend. His eyes had traced from his face, down to his shoes. Every key detail was vital to learning about who he was, what he was about and where this conversation was truly headed. However, before the spiky haired Saiyajin could even hope to ask any questions, let alone ask any, he had been alerted to the shrill shriek of a siren. An alarm used to alert the local police force and all other personnel of potential catastrophe and disturbance of the peace in the nearby vicinity. His head had instantly shot up. Ears pricked and the information of violence perceived through the dark and deep bangs of bullets shot. Quickly setting Shinko into his backpack, Gouken cracked his knuckles and darted toward the bank. Reaching the combat zone in a matter of pure seconds. He watched as the natural bred Saiyajin punched and knocked out the robbers one by one before being overwhelmed a bad bit. He may as well have had left the hero work to the warriors and the law work to his firm.
Making a swift slide, Gouken's fist had been cocked and loaded. As the distance between he and the robbers closed, he released the tension within his bicep. Hand rocketing forward into the nearest robber's gut and sending him spiraling toward his fellow accomplices. Knocking them out like a child's light. That only reduced the number by a good three. Taking a stance, he urged the robber's toward him instead of the detective. Moving swiftly, punching them in their jaws, faces and guts. Breaking noses like nothing. The few lucky ones were those who did get punched! For the ones who weren't banged against by hardened knuckles, they were grasped firmly on the back of their skull and sent drilling toward the cemented ground. Terrifying many and impressing those on the force of justice. This was practically a game!
Ermine is rather impressed and thankful for Gouken's assistance, and follows up by joining back into the fight once he had become safer. The two did an impressive job cleaning up, one by one the robbers fell, the Police themselves eventually stopped firing when they realized just what was happening. It wasn't long before the few that weren't knocked unconcious started running, two of them. He gives a nod to the Hybrid. "I've got the one on the right, then." He gives chase to the rightward crook, flying after him, though this guy has guts, he turns around, brandishing a knife and jabs at the Saiyan Detective. Ultimately a futile attempt.
The knife is easily dodged as Ermine uses his afterimage, tricking the villain. He circles around, deciding to toy with him a little. "Think you're pretty good with that thing? Let's see you try. Go ahead." The man is baffled by this apparent free shot, and attempts to shank the P.I. ...And finds his arm being gripped and completely unusable. "H...Hey man, let go! I give, I give!" "You're not getting away with this one, no, no, you deserve a little justice." The robber is twisted about and then rather easily pushed away... He starts to run again, only to end up being tripped as a shade shot strikes his ankle. "M..my leg! Oh my gosh, you're going to kill me!!" "Calm down, that shot was held back, like getting kicked. Kill you? I don't kill someone who isn't a real threat. If I wanted you dead, you wouldn't be breathing right now." He picks up the fallen thug, making sure he's absolutely subdued, he tosses him an impressive distance into a wall, then closes the gap slowly. "Well, I'm done now. And judging from the look on your face...So are you." Leaving the last robber to Gouken as promised, he begins tying up any of the fallen crooks, making sure when they came to, the only place they'd be going is jail. He lets out a sigh of relief, it was finally over, even though he probably shouldn't have rushed in like that, he felt he had no choice, he felt those police might get hurt, or worse, the helpless citizens might. "Everything turned out better than I planned. Good, I needed some justice today." Gouken was very powerful, Ermine couldn't sense it, but he could tell by how well he fought, he simply sat back and watched him finish the job. Quite a spectacle.
PL: 48,500 PL: 12,125 w/ weights. [-75% of PL.] Action: Save the day! Word Count: 179. Total Word Count: 1779. "Easy. Waaaay too easy." Gouken commented, giving a light sigh. He wanted excitement and this wasnt the type he thrived for. This was, as previously stated, nothing more than a wee game. Simple and something a mere child could do. It seemed, though, that Mr. Greis was given something of a hard time throughout the little action scene. It gave him an idea on how the naturally born from the Saiyan home world lived and fought. Their level of expertise. Ermine seemed to match that of a basic Earthling, though. Nothing extravagant or insane about him that would shoot out of the ordinary. As his hand shoved a criminal's covered face down and away, he then dusted himself off and checked on his dog. Zipping open the pack a bit more and peering in, only to find Shinko snoring...loudly, in the darkness. Adorable..
"Well, now what? The day is saved and now everything is settled," He pondered aloud.
The rain slowly but finally subsides as the skies open to reveal the sun, shining rays of light onto the buildings and streets, Ermine stands and looks over at Gouken. "I'm not a fighter, Gouken. I'm a protector." His words didn't carry a harsh tone, they weren't anything more than facts...Facts that even he began doubting. Gouken proved himself to be an ally, that was undeniable, but what if someone else came along with that big of a power gap, and they had a desire to destroy? He couldn't honestly claim he could defend his home, much less himself. He began wondering if perhaps it was time to embrace what he was, so that he could protect Earth...But was it worth it? Acknowledging his heritage was painful, it made him...Afraid. Afraid he would become like the other Saiyans, the ones who had forced him to mercilessly kill, the ones who conquered without showing an ounce of remorse. He didn't want to be one of those, but what choice did he have? He would have to try, for the sake of Earth, for the sake of anyone he might even partially care about.
"I guess this is where we part ways for now. Maybe we'll meet again, maybe we won't, but...If I had a choice, I'd rather we did meet again. I'd need your help if this place were in serious danger." He shrugs. Ultimately what you decide is your choice to make, not mine. You've opened my eyes to something I'd doubted. Sounds strange, but I'm glad we crossed paths, if only because I realized something important." He gives one last nod to Gouken before walking off, he wasn't sure how he would make himself stronger, but he was determined, for the future, for the people of this world, he would find a way or die trying, this was his only home, all he had to his name, he couldn't sit by and let it be in danger, not today, nit tomorrow. It had already faced so many threats before, he knew now that he couldn't afford not to care anymore, knowing what could happen.
"Oh, and..." He stops, looking back. "Take care of yourself, yeah? This world needs all the help it can get." With that simple statement, he continues walking off into the sunset, his hands in his pockets and his mind deep in thought. He was afraid of what was to come, behind his cool composure, he was terrified. But he was ready, for anything that would come forward, for anyone that would threaten his home, he was going to be ready to face them down, at any costs, he'd do it with a smile on his face, he hoped. Or maybe a frown...It didn't matter, it was time to start training. He was going to train until he passed out, and then train again. He owed this world, after all. His job would just have to slow down for now.
