Galen has ascended to heaven once again and there he was, walking around with his afterlife body he had gained ever since the last time he was at this realm, and the halo above his head, proof he was now tied to the world of those who were no longer in the mortal realm. It was fun in a way, he thought, as the afterlife body seemed to be far more useful than his normal body. It felt like he had more power and a far greater endurance. Moreover, he had no need to eat or drink water, though there was nothing stopping him from doing so. In a way, things were not so different and in other ways, they were indeed worlds apart. He though about paying a visit to King Kai and maybe training with him for a while, but something else was a priority to him right now: to find those who fell during the attack of the demons. One person in particular had been on his mind: the Queen of Earth, Holly Dae Valiare. Back when they were fighting against those who aimed to enslave his people, she stood her ground bravely until she was mercilessly killed by their foes.
She begged him for help but due to the circumstances in which he found himself at, he had no way to intervene with the attacks aimed at her. If it wasn't for the presence of the Demon Queen, he knew everything would've been different and maybe, just maybe, Holly wouldn't have to die, and his planet would've survive. Pained him to admit he had failed once again when they needed his blade. It wasn't for lack of trying, it wasn't for lack of training. No, it was just the odds that apparently were never in their favour. He hoped they could change that in the near future, but for now, he had to gather his strength and help those who could come back with him to make a difference. Luckily, in this world of theirs, nothing was final and with the mystical wish granting orbs, he was sure there was a way they could bring back Earth and all those innocent souls who were deprived of their lives before their due time.
In a sense, he almost felt like he had never left this place since, after all, he spent just a couple hours alive before returning to this place. This sense of familiarity was odd and he didn't quite know how he felt about it. But, in any case, he was roaming around almost without a destination. Truth be told, he had been trying to pinpoint her energy signature, but he couldn't really find it, which led him to believe she might still be on the basic cloud form. Galen scratched the back of his head as he watched the countless souls around the gardens of Heaven and realized there was only one way he could potentially find her: to make sure she knew he was looking for her. "Your grace!" he shouted. "Miss Holly! Wherever you are, I need to talk to you!" he would continuously shout as he walked around the place, looking all around in an attempt to, perhaps, be able to identify her among the clouds which looked all the same.

[Permanent PL: 2,314,862]
[PL as a cloud in the afterlife: 0]
Holly was once again floating around the afterlife. She had still not managed to acquire a body. She knew it was possible, but she didn’t know how to do it. The only thing she did know for sure was that it wasn’t going to be easy. If it were, then there wouldn’t be so many clouds floating about.
Holly honestly didn’t know what she was going to do with herself after she did get her body back. She couldn’t do anything else until she managed that. After that though… what was her next move? She was dead, right? That would mean that she was released from any responsibilities she had in life. Or was she? <Is it right to just stay in the afterlife when everyone else is still fighting? If everyone on Earth falls, then who will protect the survivors? If someone doesn’t do anything then all Earthlings are going to end up on here. But even if I could do something, is it my place now that I’m up here?>
Despite all the time in the world to think, she wasn’t any closer to an answer. Still, that was the only thing she could do right now, so she pondered, pondered, and pondered some more. Until a voice shouting her name out shook her out from her false. To her dismay, it was Galen who was calling her name out. <If he’s here, then that means he died too. Does that mean that Earth fell? He was one of the last strong defenders remaining…>
Holly floated over to where Galen was, not surprised to see that he had a body. She had a feeling that he wouldn’t have ended up as a cloud. She sent a telepathic message to him, floating a bit above the other clouds so he could spot her easily. <I’m here, Galen. There’s no need to call me Queen up here. I should be the one referring you with a proper title. You maintained your physical form and I haven’t.>
Holly didn’t ask about what happened on Earth right away. Although she had a feeling that it was in part what Galen wanted to talk to her about. He did seem like the type to get straight to the point. Being direct was something Holly wasn’t as familiar with doing. Although Galen was likely going to set the pace of their discussion, whatever it may be.
Some people had bodies, some people had half the bodies (just the upper half while the lower half was still cloud) and just a handful had full afterlife bodies to call their own. Maybe it was indeed something reserved for those who had the most accomplished feats, but if he had to be fair, he didn't pictured himself as a very accomplished warrior at all; he had failed every time the planet was relying on him, though not for lack of trying. Maybe it was the intention and a pure heart that would set the difference in between those considered worthy of retaining a body and those who would just be granted the passage to the upper realms. In any case, he was hoping he could find Holly, he needed to talk to her, he needed to help her, and they both needed to get out of this world, as the world of the living still needed them both.
As he was looking for her, he sensed a faint presence reaching his mind and he quickly opened his natural barriers to allow that faint energy to establish a line of communication; and good thing he did that, as the one reaching his mind was no other than Holly. <Your grace!> he exclaimed as he heard her echoing voice. He chuckled in happiness to know she made it to the upper realms. Some doubt was place in his heart due to his interactions with Rukia down there, but there was no way to mislead the judgment of Queen Aka. If Holly was here, she was still someone who deserved the oath of his sword. <I see you now!> he said as he identified her cloud form and quickly flew over towards her.
He shook his head upon landing and kneeling before her, so they could remain on the same level and, although she had no visible eye, he was way too used to dealing with special magical clouds to know where their "face" was supposed to be. "I'm glad you are okay. I mean... You know what I mean. And I would like to apologize... I could not protect you there and I ended up dying at the hands of the Demon Queen." he sighed, scratching the back of his head as he blushed a bit. "Some people call me a hero, but I always fell while fighting for Earth, so... Maybe I'm not the best hero..." he sighed, but then he shook his head and managed to smile once again, a gentle and caring smile. "I'm glad I could find you. And don't feel bad because of that... I know of some ways you can materialize yourself a body, and I know you have a strong enough will to pull that stunt." and upon saying that, his expression became more serious and he sighed. "I need you, Holly. I can't win against them all by myself. Would you be willing to train with me? I know some techniques... Maybe some that could fit your magical style as it is close to magic... I'm sorry to be saying that so suddenly but... Our world perished." and she was right to assume he was one to go straight to the point.

This guy was the most polite person she had ever met. Even after insisting that he didn’t have to be formal with her he still insisted on referring to her by her title. Holly would have shook her head if she could have. Galen was putting too much blame on himself.
“You don’t need to apologize for that. You did all your could despite being outclassed. I’d call that heroic, wouldn't you? I don't blame you for not coming to my aid. I sensed her power too: she was far beyond our strength. We never had a chance from the beginning. These powerful being decided to walk all over us and there’s nothing we can do about it.”
Holly listened as Galen encouraged her about acquiring a body again. Well that would be a good start. Or would have been, if Galen hadn’t informed her that the Earth was gone. So it really had all been for naught. There was nothing but bitter despair in her voice now.
“Even if you did have magic you could teach me, what is the point of fighting them now? Even if we won, it wouldn't change the fact that Earth is gone. What is there left to fight for? Protecting one of the other races that attacked our people? So what's the point of training now?”
Holly had resigned herself to staying up here. She had failed utterly on Earth. And Galen had informed her of the full scope of her failure. Even if they could get stronger, what hope was there left? Her people were in the afterlife now: so she would take responsibility and remain here as well. She didn’t think Galen had anything that could convince her otherwise. What was even left to fight for?
He sighed deeply when Holly said that he did everything he could. He knew she was right but that didn't stop him from thinking that maybe he could've chosen differently. Maybe if instead of the Spirit Sword he had used the Mafuuba against the Demon Queen he would've been able to stop her without dying and then proceed to defeat the other demons. Rukia played a major role in that and the fact that she failed to stop the Demon Queen despite his sacrifice was still bugging him a lot and making him question just how much could he trust the President of the Capsule Corporation; even though they knew each other - even her ally Saeko - from way back, he didn't really feel like he knew her heart and that was bothering to him, but there was no point in thinking about it right now. His heart was lightened though, when he heard she saying she didn't blame him and his smile was that of peace and relief, but he still carried some guilt deep inside his eyes.
"I keep on second guessing my choices, though. So many people entrusted their hearts and their techniques to me and yet I couldn't save our planet. I know dwelling in our past failures does not help, but I can't help but wonder what I could've done differently down there..." he sighed, shrugging and shaking his head. His self-pity vanished, though, the moment he sensed the hopelessness inside Holly's heart. Galen's brown eyes were fixed at the cloudy form of the Queen as she questioned what was the point in even trying now that everyone was dead. Galen's eyes shifted from the shame and guilt to that of determination and power and he approached the cloud to the point he was but a feet away from her.
"Don't give in to despair, Queen Holly! There's still much we can do. This is not out end! This is not the end of our people and not the end of Earth! I intend on going back, on making sure we can restore our world, our people and our peace. I won't rest until I can do that, but unfortunately fate has already revealed to me I cannot do it alone... But..." and as he paused, he reached for a part of the cloud where it would feel like it was her hand - he seemed to be quite familiar with the "anatomy" of a cloud-shaped being. His touch was gentle and tender, but also firm and filled with will. "If you are with me we have a way better chance! And I can assure you we will be finding many others willing to fight the good fight! Don't let the sparkle of hope in your heart fade away!" he said, nodding to her and cracking a gentle smile.

Despite her reassurances, it was clear that he was still blaming himself for what happened. Holly knew the look in his eyes. She saw it in the mirror after the East City and Bris attack. She had felt personally responsible for all of those loses. That she could have done more to save them. And now one more failure was added to the list.
“You should have left the worrying to me. I was the Queen, so the burden was mine to carry, not yours. We were all up against foes that were all too strong for us. I even had healing magic prepared and even with that restoration, I couldn't even defeat one of them. We were outnumbered by beings with powers above our own. There wasn’t a way to win that fight.”
Holly would have jumped at the sudden change in Galen’s demeanor. The self pity had vanished and was replaced with an intensity. It was blazing forth like a wildfire from him. Despite that though, she couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. Maybe that was because she was already past the end of the tunnel.
“What is there to go back to? Galen, it's all gone! Everyone is dead and they're up here! There's no magic that can bring all of that back!”
Holly let put a choked sob. Which probably seemed a little funny when coming from a floating cloud. Galen tried to reach out and touch her, but it just passed on through. The gesture was nice. But it didn't change anything.
“I’m sorry... That was uncalled for. But Galen, it's all gone. Unless if you have some way to bring it all back, then gathering people to fight for us is meaningless. Just… we did our best… but they were so strong…”
Holly was in a constant state of self-pity. It just all seemed so hopeless to her. Everyone had died and she had failed. That was the end of the story. Then why did Galen think more chapters could be written?
Indeed they were fated to lose in that battle and he knew that alright. He had hopes, but they were pretty much wishful thinking and now that they had failed it was all pretty much over, the demons had won and there was no changing the past. "That's true, your grace, we cannot change what happened in the past..." he started, slowly closing his eyes and widening his smile. She was hopeless, and that was clear as daylight, but he felt the sparkle of hope tickling his heart and filling all of his body with that marvelous feeling that he could do anything he set his mind onto. "But we most definitely can change the future!" and with those words, he opened his brown eyes burning with the blazes of determination.
"I don't mean to offend you, your Majesty, but for a magician, you really seem to have lost faith in magic." and he didn't say that in an overly criticizing tone, but he was still challenging her own core beliefs. "For magic is exactly what will allow us to change what happened with our world and our people!" he said, chuckling lightly in a kind and caring tone. Galen didn't let the mystery linger for long as he quickly revealed what was inside his mind. "The namekians have dragon balls, the wish granting orbs capable of granting the one who gathers them any wish." he started revealing his plan. "I intend on going to Namek as Earth's Guardian and ask for the blessing of their Elder Guru to use them in order to restore not only our planet, but our people." he said, pausing yet again so she could take in his words. "My former Master, Arion, he went to Namek before and we have a good relationship with them. Our wish will not be a selfish one, but one for making our universe a better, more peaceful place. We can fix everything. But in order to maintain the our future safe after we restore our world, we need to improve ourselves." he said, nodding and offering his hand to her.
"I can't do this by myself, though. I need you... I need you Holly!" and for the first time he was a bit more casual with her. His tone was kind and caring, but he meant every word he was saying. If anything, Galen was shining with hope right now.

The amount of optimism Galen had was astounding. Everything was literally blown to pieces and yet he still thought that there was still a chance. The fantastical tale he told seemed to indicate so. Mystical orbs that could grant any wish? It seemed too good to be true. Holly let out a forlorn sigh.
“I have lost faith in my magic. I thought it would be able to give me the strength to deal with our enemies. I was mistaken. Putting that aside, even if these dragon balls exist, how do you propose we even get to Namek? We’re both dead."
Holly hesitated when he said that she needed her. It all seemed so hopeless, pursuing a fairy tail like that. But somehow she knew Galen wasn’t lying to her. He had come back to life before, hadn’t he?
“Okay, I believe you. What do we have to do to get to Namek?”
She wouldn't have believed something this good to be true normally. If they was one thing more harder to comprehend than being in the afterlife it was coming back to life to search for some magic artifacts that could fix everything. Galen seemed to be very ernest though. She would put her faith in him.
It was always saddening to hear somebody had lost faith in themselves and to hear from Holly she had lost faith in her magic, one of her defining traits from what he could tell so far, it was even more saddening and he couldn't help but to sigh. But he was there to try and light the flames of hope in her heart once again, so he couldn't afford to look sad, even if said sadness was a consequence of his own empathy. He kept his smile there and chuckled a bit when she said they were both dead, she as a pure spirit form, and him as a spiritual body with the halo above the head indicating his condition. "Indeed we are dead, but dead is not so final if you have true strength in your heart!" he said, chuckling a bit more, and apparently his high spirits were a bit contagious, as she shortly after saying it they were dead, asked how they could go to Namek and he nodded.
"There are many ways out of the afterlife, but they are impossible at your current state." and he paused to look at the people who were half-body and half-spirit. "And even for them." and he paused again until he was back looking at her. "But when you manage to create your own body back, you can do anything. Moreover, our bodies here are far less limited than our living bodies and our potential to grow while we are here in the afterlife is much greater than when we are in the world of the living!" he said and pointed his thumb to his chest. "I'm much stronger than I was when I faced Caesar because of the training I did here. So..." he stood up again and looked around; this place wouldn't be the better for them to start training, but luckily Heaven was a very big place and he could easily reach a more deserted place.
"Follow me! I will help you with recreating your living body! And then we can talk about the details and, more importantly, the "when" we are going there." and as he said that, he started floating and after Holly showed him she was ready, he would fly towards a deserted yet beautiful valley a few miles from where they were, a place peaceful enough so they could focus entirely on training and, also, getting to know each other a little better. Somehow Galen was feeling happy to be near Holly, he felt like they had many things they would be able to accomplish if they worked together.

Death wasn’t final if you had enough strength? Was it really that simple. His cheerful demeanor about it all seemed to indicate so. Holly couldn’t help but admire Galen. She had steadily been beaten down by all the things that had gone wrong since becoming Queen.
Galen also went through Earth’s destruction and died more than once. Yet he still had this warm ray of optimism about him despite all that. He was quite an inspiration to say the least.
Holly listened attentively as Galen explained what he knew about the afterlife. She didn’t know who this Caesar he mentioned was. Right now wasn’t the best of times to inquire about that kind of thing. Holly followed Galen to a wonderful place. Holly was awed by its beauty.
“Wow… it's so lovely here... “
Holly murmured softly. It was amazing that they had found a place with just the two of them. Let alone somewhere this peaceful. After presumably taking in the scenery, Holly sounded like she took a deep breath before getting to the most pressing matter at hand.
“Galen, please tell me how to get my body back. If we’re going to come back to life and go to Namek, then I can't do it as a cloud. You said so yourself earlier.”
Holly had resigned herself to her fate. Yet in the span of a 5 minute conversation, Galen had swayed her and convinced her not to give up. She would at the very least attempt to get her body back. If she succeeded, then she would see where things went from there.
He chuckled, happy she thought the place was indeed lovely, and he agreed with her. It was calm, lovely and isolated, so they could focus on their training without anyone to bother them. Galen went to the afterlife with his body, a gift from Jie Shan when he fell to the spear of Caesar, but due to the fact that he spent nearly a year in the afterlife, he was able to learn a lot about it from people like King Kai and Master Mutaito. He took his time to get to know as many things and places as he could, even going as far as to go to Hell and meet some interesting people down there. Once there, Holly asked him to teach her how to get her body back and he nodded in agreement.
"Alright. The first thing you need to do is focus on your inner ki. It's really hard to sense it now as you have been reduced to the pure spiritual form. But with enough focus you most definitely can! You are a magician! That should be even easier to you, Holly!" he said, as he was now feeling comfortable enough to call her by her name, although never losing the kind and polite tone. "Once you do find this sparkle of energy, you need to mold it so it can expand. Remember your body! Remember everything that made you... well... You! And you will be able to break through the limiting shell of your soul. This is all about your ki control and your confidence! Believe in yourself, believe in your power, make it yours and you will restore your body!" he said. It was easier said than done, but he was certain she could do it, she was powerful and she was in Heaven, meaning her heart was in the right place.

Holly already saw a potential problem with acquiring a new body. Galen told her to focus on her ki in order to materialize it. . Well, there was quite a big issue with that, as she was about to explain to her fellow human.
“I’m a Magi Galen. We do have a small ki reserve, but we don’t use it. We utilize magic, which is a different kind of energy. I’ll explain it to you more clearly if this works and I get my body back. Focus on a sparkle of energy and mold it until reform… Focus…”
Holly did exactly that. In the state she was in currently it was hard to tell her ki apart from her magic. Eventually she did enough digging and found the glimmer of energy she needed to find. She zeroed in on it, pulling on it and trying to expand it. She hoped this would work out, and restore her to her normal form.
