Morning had come.
But like it had when she woke up from her coma, the first few hours of daylight had gone quickly by in a similar manner. The differences lied in her own participation, recalling how those under her, had did all of the prep work. Something which hadn't been necessary this early, as she had taken charge.
The power that she had gained from the Queen of Demons had been wonderful, but even better was the strength of a god. She hadn't been able to call herself a real god, knowing that there was someone out there in the universe who had reached higher power, but it was still very evident she had reached a new transformation nonetheless, and one which granted her the kind of power she could use to ensure that the rule they had over this planet remained.
She knew very well that the Saiyans had invaded this place sometime before, and the Kold Demons themselves should have realized upon seeing her Majin ally, that something was afoot, for someone like that to continue being on the planet and alive. The girl's power was normally suppressed, but alongside her and many others, there had been no more secrecy. Taking over the planet had been as public as they could have made it, and involved fighting against Wintera.
Form after form of who they knew had ended the lives of the refugees from East City, in a just as recent period, the Kolds had watched herself fight against the alien, where she had transformed herself to match the woman. There was a clear difference in power from the start, as her Refined Control was easily able to have the advantage over the Kold Demon's True Form. Enough to where the woman was forced to keep changing her forms, faster than she had.
Although it was essentially an act between them, the fighting was something very real, and if the alien hadn't taken it seriously, her life could have easily been lost. What the Kold Demon had dubbed as her Ultimate Form however, had been when things seemed like they were taking a different turn.
All of the energy that the alien was expelling at her, was something she could feel was meant to try killing her. A good portion of what the Kold Demon had threw at her however, was overpowered with her own techniques, or by her own body. It had been a long fight in the skies, but she ultimately hadn't had the need to use the powers she had gained from the ritual. The others who were sober enough to actually move around, had taken care of any would be defenders.
Though the majority had seemed to accept that for the third time, their planet was going to be used however they wanted it to. She was positive that there were Kolds who were certain just as well, that Wintera had already known that she would lose, or recognized their presence from the night before in celebration. But whether they did or didn't, she could have cared less about. The fact was, the moment the alien had decided to assert herself against the earthlings who were seeking refuge, she had essentially already taken over the planet and conquered it, knowing she could best the Kold Demon's power.
This morning had made it all official, and along with it, was the idea that the Demons could wind up attacking the planet in the future. There was a lot of politics that needed to be said with the Kold Demons, but this takeover was never meant to be something that they couldn't agree on. It was very obvious how xenophobic the aliens could be, and even when the mess of adapting to their economy overall was taken care of, there was still likely to be hostility.
One which could be fixed given the time, but at the moment it was something that she could put off. Another few hours had been spent in recovering from her fight with Wintera, which was time that passed by even easier. For many people to have come out of the things that she had gone through, they were very well likely to be the sort to find themselves doubting what they were capable of, fearing the idea that if they slept again, they might not have woken up.
But that sort of trauma, while it was true could befall even the strong, failed to consider just how tired she had been the day before, of her past. Looking forward to the future, was very well the line that she wanted to embrace at the moment. A lot could happen as the universe tried to recover from the situation of a lower mortal level. And in order to continue to ensure that personal progress happened, she needed to maintain an increase of power.
What had felt to her like she was only slowly getting anywhere as an Antediluvian, had gone and changed to something she was assure of. There was still more power for her to reach out towards, and that thought was one of the things that kept her from acting in leisure, just because she had her own planet.
It wasn't the one that she had envisioned, with twilight skies, and the existence of blood rivers and lakes, a simple means meant to end the hungers of a Vampire, but she had thought so much about it all while she was unconscious. And the attention that she had gotten yesterday, combined with the inevitable of an invasion by the Demon Queen, really assured to her that they could possibly adjust to living here enough to where there wasn't a need for such things.
She wasn't going to give up on the idea, as one of the things she had imagined had been in tribute to one of her deals in the past, but it was something that she couldn't see being viable. Not when she had issues that needed to be solved. The form of an Antediluvian was one where she was rightfully able to look as if she was fitted for the role, being eternally 16, when she had become a Vampire. But the transformation, as powerful as it was, had its consequence in feeling as if she was encased in ice, the longer that she had remained still. She knew the feeling differed from those working close to her, who had become Antediluvians herself, which meant what the blood magic within them, the very thing powering them was doing, was presenting a punishment.
Power wasn't something meant to be consequence free, and prior to becoming an Antediluvian, her becoming a Matriarch, was what had introduced her view of just how tiring life could be. The universe, as big as it could be, tended to allow running into similar situations that she had experienced before.
Idiots were something there was no shortage of, and there were always going to be people who feared the idea that someone of her power could exist. It was no wonder the deities had never really revealed themselves until recently. Though she doubted anyone of their lifespan would really be concerned about what current society had thought of them. Still, that didn't make it any more annoying to see people who acted stupid, still expected to continue living.
That much was something which wouldn't change about herself. She could tolerate a lot of things, one of them being the idea that in the future, how willing she was to invite that Queen of Earth onto this planet, where she would rightfully be allowed to kill the girl, if she had really wanted to do so.
Although there would still be the insistence on her part, that she wasn't working with the demons. Too many people couldn't accept or see the idea that business could be separate from other affairs. She needed them to kill who she didn't like, and it was just unfortunate that the 'good' would have a problem with that. There was also the future issue of having to leave this planet and quite possibly not being capable of helping defend the place.
No matter what power or confidence she could get, that was something that would always worry her. This power was her own, and she was the one who was trying to carry all of their aspirations, doing what they were unable to achieve. It would take a lot of consideration and planning to leave them alone.
She had the right people to defend the place, but even they couldn't match the possibility of having some enemy's best technique, be launched at them. Her own Vampires weren't fast enough either, to both dodge, or overpower the Demon Queen and the spit that had the capability of turning others to stone.
There was a way around this of course, through having others she wished to contact, come to this planet instead, or waiting for the arrival of those important to her contacts to show up as insurance in the case that things had went wrong. Because there were lives she could afford losing, and those she couldn't. It might have been true that she was likely to outlive those she currently knew, and that one could truly cheat death, if they had wanted to.
But it was her choice to desire that kind of life for herself, and the time it took to revive, could be long enough to question whether it was possible at all. The things that she knew came from the memories of another, which had its own issues. Although things hadn't gone wrong for her in so long, it was likely best to continue believing in what she heard of. To make it show the kind of results that she was looking for these things to have.
A sigh had escaped her, as she had walked around the mansion, the slightest of condensation appearing. It was a sign that the temperature could have been turned a little warmer, a reminder as well, on just where they were. The idea of breathing for her kind, had become nothing short but an illusion.
They were undead after all. Everything that the humans that she had saved, Capsule Corp employees and relatives, were able to do right now, her kind could also perform because of their blood magic. Basic body functions that they should no longer have, still worked, so long as they had wanted it to.
That was the reason they were capable of enduring the conditions of this planet, far more than the average being would have been. Although there was an extent to how long. Which was the reason why given the time, it would be much more commonplace to see the Vampires and Earthlings around here, wear oxygen masks. Winter coats or similar were already in practice, for those not strong enough to bear the weather, and only the weaker Vampires needed any aid.
So long as training had continued to persist, there shouldn't be any detrimental effects. Those who lived in the North back on Earth, had dealt with cold climates, so something like this shouldn't have been too much of a difference. Time and how much of it could solve things, just made everything seem like things were at a standstill, or traveling too slow to really see results. One of the tortures of having to view life like it was so meaningless.
She didn't plan on leaving the mansion today, one which was her primary, even though proper rooms had been made out of the royal palace that she had now owned. The building was the absolutely first time that she had ever owned property so large, and certain adjustments were needed before she would find herself being comfortable enough to make it a place she could see herself truly living. Something that came first through just being here.
Nothing within this mansion had been removed, as all of the mansions that she had owned had their own furniture and the like. Being Capsule Corp products, that was something that was just essential, and it was only the additions made through future purchases, that could really change anything.
With all of the allies that she had, that wasn't something which would have been too difficult to accomplish. Although a majority had preferred to live in their own capsule homes, and those who did choose to live with her, she hosted them entirely within this mansion. The life that they brought into this place, even now as she had decided to go towards one particular room, was something which she could see just why, she might consider them as family.
Letting go was one of the things involved with looking forward to the future. Those who she had working for her right now, they had become the very people whose absence she'd notice, no matter how minor it could have really been. It was apart of leadership as well, to be informed about what was going on with those she had worked with, but that was something much easier for her to deal with, than the idea that most of them would be all gone one day.
Even her Matriarchs and what few of them had chosen to become Antediluvians, were likely to retire from their ageless lives, far earlier than she would have wanted to. One of the things about becoming a Vampire, was that she wanted to see just what society had to offer, the more the years had went on.
A couple of centuries wasn't something that was enough for her, and being someone who wanted to do better than predecessors, she wanted to also outlive the ancients, knowing how typical it was for a Vampire to retire only after a few centuries. There was a lot of potential there for going insane, as each of the lives and false identities that she imagined forming for herself, would likely wind up being similar, once she had exhausted the professions available.
It was hard to even say that she hadn't already gone crazy. She did a lot of things, and had certain future plans that would cause most people to do a double take, if they had really heard it. But they were also personal things, and those tended to matter so much more to one person than others.
"It's cold, but these really help out a lot~"
Standing near the door frame of a spare room she had redecorated to be something more expected of a child, she found her Android leaning into a chair, and drinking a cup of hot cocoa. The machine was alone, but she could already tell that the Android who intentionally carried her likeness, was seeing and hearing things that she couldn't. This was just the usual, and one of the best options she really gave it, when it came to coping to its surroundings.
From the sound of things, it must have been some kind of memory around the winter season. That had really been the only time she remembered wanting to drink such a thing, and it was meant to be a special occasion, rather than something to really partake in drinking all year around. There was some stubbornness in that kind of belief, but she could also see just why some of the others could be so affectionate towards someone who was essentially her younger self.
There was just so much happiness within that tone of voice, that was different from what she could feel now. A lot of what she and other people in general had did that could make them happy, behind it all, there was some kind of goal in mind. Perhaps even an obstacle preventing it from actually happening.
But children in general tended to be happy and interested for the sake of things. There might have been some aspirations here and there, though expecting something wasn't really something that would have been likely. They enjoyed life in ways that those much older tended to lose, as time had gone on.
Eventually, this Android was meant to age as well, taking on whatever kind of path it placed itself. There were even opportunities that she was willing to give it, in order to actually make that come to fruition. Though no matter how it winded up changing, the one thing she expected to remain the same was that happiness. The machine was essentially an extension of herself which even if the others had gone absent and left her, she felt she could retain.
See a side of herself that felt like it was so lost right now, beyond certain motivations that would provide her happiness. She hadn't lost her ability to smile just yet, but gaining power as a Vampire, truly did make her feel as if it could be a possibility for the future. There was so much control in becoming one, which made it so ironic that something so simply could be potentially lost through growth. That her own desire might not be enough.
"My parents said that when it gets a bit warmer, we'd be able to do something fun outside. But it's nice getting to see the snow on the windows, right?"
Placing the mug she was holding down onto a table stand, the machine had hopped off the bed, and poked outside at the window. It was a brief moment, before the Android had turned her head to the side, a clear smile on her face as she had went on to comment about what she was actually seeing out there.
Her tongue being stuck out, and some conversation about catching snowflakes, had quickly came up, the machine continuing to not even bat an eye towards her presence from the door frame. But that was also something she was unsurprised to actually see, knowing that was how things were meant to actually be.
She or one of the others could walk in, and so long as they didn't try and interact with the girl, it wasn't going to really go off of the script that it knew of. The moment that she or anyone else had directly said anything to it at all though, all of what it was seeing would die away, and the surroundings here would be nothing more than some kind of strange dream for it. Because it wasn't consistent with the database that was supposed to be its primary.
"Are you still not curious about your own future?"
Walking into the room and announcing her own presence, she had watched as the Android had 'forgot' everything that it was doing at the moment, which from how long that she had been observing, had transitioned into playing some board games. The question was something she had asked many times before, whenever she had felt as if she really needed to watch the kind of person she used to be. There was always some mixed feelings about it all, with how much of a danger that naivety could be, yet she could see still had its own beauty, compared to all of the troubles that society actually had to it.
The previous times that she had asked the question, which she knew was going up with this latest one, the machine had shook its head and refused. Another ironic thing about its natural curiosity for other people it knew and their futures. But beyond knowing that she was a strong Vampire, and believing that those who worked for her she had become friends with, there wasn't really much else that the Android had really wanted to know about herself.
"Future me! There's something different about you, but I like it~"
A lot had really happened, but it had only been a day since she had woken up, and the machine had done the same, waking up from her own stasis. Although the machine's was much longer, having been asleep since traveling to here from earth. She had only awakened it shortly after she had gotten ready yesterday.
Embraced into a hug around her legs, the only reach that someone meant to be eight years old could really get to, the words had reminded her of how it was supposed to read power levels, but base it off of a feeling, than knowing that the concept of ki and such had actually existed. She had really been nothing more than an average human, before she had become a Vampire many years later, just as helpless as anyone else on earth, when the place got attacked.
"And ah, I don't understand what you mean? Yukari-chan had played with me earlier today. She and everyone else are so nice. What else am I supposed to know?"
There had been a little happy bounce as the machine had recalled something, its response being similar, although still different from what she was expecting to hear one day. Allowing it to handle the truth of what the world around it was actually like, would require for her to hear the machine acknowledge that her life was anything but as bright as it made itself believe. There were hardships in life that just didn't equate to being just a little bit sad.
"Hmm, can you show me more music? I want to dance like you!"
Though she hadn't said a word since she had addressed it, the machine was quick to fill what gaps of silence there otherwise could have been, clearly thinking really hard for a moment about her question, before forming an answer of its own on what she could have actually meant with her question.
It wasn't what she was looking for, but nevertheless, a smile had still crossed her lips, as she had easily picked the machine up. The Android would be heavy to anyone with an average power level, but it felt just as light as a child would have, as she carried it into her arms and out into the hallway.
Her tastes in music she actually thought was pretty simple enough. While there were certain genres that were suited for a kind of ball room dancing, when it came to being the host of a party, it was better to cater and accomodate to the intersts of the guests. Most of which usually had beats right for it.
"I can, but upstairs in my room. We can head back down to yours when we're done."
Energy was another thing that kids had, which those older didn't typically have much of. It could seem endless when one was tired, and while she knew the Android was able to keep running if it had wanted to, there was a set schedule where it was supposed to shut down and cool off its processing.
She was likely to entertain her likeness until night had came, but it was hardly anything she would have mind right now.
