“Is that right?” Rensu quirked a brow and looked up, scrunching his nose to see the golden ring above his head. A Halo! He really died alright, this was the final nail in the coffin for that front! Flicking it, the boy chuckled some as it gave a satisfying 'tink!’ sound upon impact, fingernail to halo. His eyes then went to Galen, whom stated it was about time. Prior to his body, he did state it was time for business and not chit-chat. He did say to focus on clothing. Sure, they were dead, but Rensu was most comfortable with some kind of gloves. Thus, the young man materialized a single black guard for his fist. Opening and closing his fist, hype grew in the young man and caused him a great smile. Taking note of how Galen took on his school's stance, the young man was put in a bit of an awkward position.
“Ready as I'll ever be.” He stated. Lurching forward, and holding his right arm in front of him. The limb acting as both a guide, and a form of defense. His eyes carefully studying that form of Galen's, he had a feeling he was in for another round of ass kicking. Only, this time it was a good kind. Rensu had a gut feeling that he'd learn more than anything he would've just staying stagnant and doing nothing on Namek, in his house and sticking to his daily routine of eat, train and sleep. Those genes of his work acting up, though. As being a Saiyan, the thrill of battle began to course through his veins and make him extra aware and willing to learn. Galen was right, about another thing though. He felt way lighter and a lot more capable here. His stamina increased a little bit and the limitations placed upon the mortal coil were released for him. This was great! “Okay, Mister Galen...let's go!” He stated boldly.
Backing away from Galen to obtain equal distance, Rensu bounced from foot to foot. Huffing for a moment before taking off. It was apparent how sloppy his movement was, though to the untrained warrior he likely seemed proficient in his art. To start their battle, Rensu lunged for Galen. Attempting to begin their fight with a slide to the ground, hoping to swipe Galen from his feet and begin a flurry of strikes utilizing his legs alone! The battle was about to start and as the two of them got ready, Galen smirked. "Come at me with all you've got! Because it won't be easy!" he said, chuckling lightly and then Rensu came. The boy had speed, he had to give him that, but the moment he dashed towards Galen it was clear why someone with so much raw power was defeated down on Earth. Rensu was like a unpolished gemstone; you could see the sheer potential it had, but it was way too raw to be considered precious. Galen would polish that stone, but he would be using his fists for this goal and he was feeling the rush of adrenaline running through his veins already. Although he wasn't a saiyan and didn't share the same blazing passion, he did like fighting and he had been doing that for most of his life now, most of his twenty six years of life... and death!
Rensu came trying to sweep him off the ground, but Galen was ready for that. Despite the fact that Galen was generally slower than Rensu in, say, a race or a flying contest, when it came to battle, the human reflexes were far beyond the reaction speed of the saiyan and as he came with his first attack, Galen quickly leaped to the air, dodging it almost effortlessly and he continued to dodge as the flurry of kicks came, not losing the smirk on his face.
"Slow! You think before each kick, thus allowing me to have plenty of time to read your movement and react to it! It's the hesitation, the automatic hesitation behind each and every blow!" he explained while he dodged the attacks, showing just how comfortable he was even though he was being furiously assaulted by the boy. "You have instincts! That I can see, but you are nothing but a wild animal now! I will make you a trained one! A efficient one! Even... A deadly one!" he said as he continued to dodge until he moved himself to behind Rensu, focusing all of his power onto his right fist. "Rock, Paper... ROCK!" and as he made his choice, he aimed to hit Rensu with a kidney-shot, to cause some intense pain, but not too much damage.
He was testing his grounds with the boy and he knew saiyans grew stronger the angrier they got.

“That was my plan from the get-go, guy!” Rensu exclaimed, darting into his opponent with a speed rivaled by many. Despite the focus laced in the youngster's heart and soul, he couldn't help but to fail to keep up with his foes reaction speed and just how fast he was. Every kick he had dished out was dodged and denied, hitting nothing but air and nothing more. Rensu noticed his foe’s confident smirk, finding it a bit funny and almost contagious. As, despite his disadvantage, he too began to smile and watch Galen move so effortlessly. His eyes tracking him as he leaped into the air and moved away from his flurry. He appreciated that this man was adamant in training him and pushing him to a better form. “Wow! Gotta say, you're pretty good!” He cried, dropping his leg to quickly turn towards Galen.
Though, his turn was not fast enough. He listened closely to the advice his opponent had to offer. “Yeah, you got a point there,” He thought. “Wouldn't thinking before each attack be the smartest option, though— I always figured calculating what to do was the best option..damn!” He continued, furrowing his brow and kind of pursing his lips a little. His hearty smile returned and he laughed as Galen offered what he could do, what he could make Rensu into, “Hehe! Thanks, Gal!” The young man chuckled for a moment, before getting serious again. Quirking a brow as his human opponent and mentor gathered a great deal of Ki into his right fist. Not only this, but the man also rushed behind him, and went in for a rather fierce, yet reserved, kidney shot. “!?” Rensu grunted.
Blocking or dodging seemed impossible, being as the way the two warriors were positioned as well as the amount of knowledge they both had was comparable; One had far more proficiency in the arts and how to use their body than the other. Rensu's vision blurred some as he felt a great deal of pain jolt through his body, his hand darting up the struck area in hopes of rubbing or grasping the pain off. Staggering forward, the young man moved away by making a few sloppy steps forward, whipping around after a second to face his opponent.
“Darn! That kinda hurt, y'know?” Rensu’s lips curved upward once again at the corners, his one hand brought up into a fist. “Okay guess I gotta get a little more serious huh?” The youth tilted his head a bit, and bit his lip some. Chewing on it for a second. “I'll hold off on transforming. We'll safe that good stuff for later. It's still a liiiittle early for me to go ‘Super’!” The young man laughed. “Alright..let's get back into this..”
The lad had begun to bend at the knees, charging a fine sum of Ki into each foot. Letting it gather and grow before he launched himself forward, and into Galen. His instincts acting over all and his intent to deal a decent amount of damage to his opponent. Enough to prove his worth in combat and his worth to be taught a thing or two. Jumping a bit, Rensu glided across the ground before unleashing another series of kicks. This time, they were a bit more calculated but still had the ferocity that was found in most Saiyans. It seemed like a natural process, this time. “Ora ora ora!” He shouted. His strikes intent on landing on his foes torso and that's all. Galen chuckled a bit. "I've been training for pretty much my whole life and I had many people helping me out with that! I carry not only my own will, but the will of everyone who entrusted their knowledge and gave me their time and teachings! Master Arion, Master Korin, Master Cornatto, Master Jie Shan, King Kai and Master Mutaito! All those great fighters helped me grow and in turn I'm doing my best to help people like you, who have a good, decent heart, and are in need of some guidance, be it spiritual, or in the realm of the Martial Arts! It's my way of returning their kindness!" he said shortly before he landed the powerful and painful blow on Rensu's back and he could definitely see the boy was feeling it, but that wasn't enough to lower his spirits and that was a very good sign; will-power was the force behind great accomplishments, the main ingredient towards achieving greatness.
Rensu did mention transforming and that made Galen's smirk to widen a bit. "I'm sure I can match that power, so do it on your own terms and at your own time." he said as he was confident his Tension power-ups together with the Kaioken could match the Super Saiyan and even the Super Saiyan 2 forms, should this boy be able to achieve the later; he was far too unpolished to be able to reach the form Cornatto displayed before, the one known as Super Saiyan 3, so there was no way Galen wouldn't be able to keep it up.
The human fell back into his fighting stance and watched as Rensu concentrated his ki on both his legs. "Again, too much obvious preparing. Rush attack is coming next, I presume?" he asked with a confident tone and once again he was right. He was better this time as his speed was increased and the power packed behind those attacks was far greater than before, but once again, it was nothing Galen couldn't really react too. He quickly moved his body to try and block the blows thrown at him and while he did block the major part of it, some of them still managed to graze through his defence a little bit. Nothing close to a solid hit, but still showing he could be dangerous when he needed, but Galen still managed to block his offensive completely and get ready for the immediate retaliation.
"Rock, Scissors... PAPER!" he roared as his clenched fist came close, but before he hit him, he opened his palm and attempted to give him a very hard slap to the face with an open palm. He was testing Rensu's reaction and readiness and he was pretty sure he would do better this time, but he still had one other variation up his sleeve he was saving for next.

“I guess how you train and how my kin of foot soldiers train are two different things, huh?” Rensu cocked a brow up, responding to Galen's statement. “That and how we're brought up. Guess I could be jealous, but ya gotta roll with the punches and takes what given to ya, right? Hm!” The young man found himself interested in something, Galen had a pattern in his speech. “That's a helluva’ ’mount of masters, there, Galen! Lucky you, gettin’ to meet all of them. You're doin’ a swell job, at passin’ their teachings, pal,” Rensu sought to encourage the attitude used by his friend. That kind of boldness, kindness and humility was something that many humans lacked and something most, if not all Saiyans seemed to lack as well. His brows furrowed again as his onslaught of kicks ended, his leg raised high and straight before swiped down to make the boy regain his balance. Standing strong and his eyes watching Galen yet again. “That so? Well, alright. Now you're just gettin’ me excited, but I gotta be honest with ya Gal, I still don't know how to use that Super Saiyan Two form all that well. We'll see how this fight goes before it rolls out, hehe!”
Galen's advice fell upon listening ears and it was made use of. “Too much preparation still too much thinking…! Okay! I hear ya loud and clear, buddy..” Rensu thought to himself, keeping a serious expression now. His black eyes tracking Galen's hands and how he dodged and guarded against the swift onslaught of kicks and blows he sought to land. “Just gotta be careful...he used somethin’ involving Rock, Paper..and I guess scissor? Guess I just oughta’ listen and react. If he said rock, and rock means fist..then..” Rensu began formulating a plan as quickly as he could. Something to react with and how to prepare himself against this fierce game. As Galen gathered his energy again, Rensu listened. “Rock, okay! Scissors, alright?!” He grunted.
Galen's hand shot out quickly, and Rensu was incredibly impressed by the man's speed. But, he had him now. Juking back, Rensu met Galen's open palm with his own. Gritting his teeth, Rensu slammed his palm into Galen's, palm meeting palm. Through Rensu's grit teeth, a parted lip smirk emerged. “Paper! Draw!” He exclaimed, digging his feet to the ground, hoping not to get pushed off balance. He was sure Galen would be met with great surprise! He was learning alright! “!!” He grunted again. The leftover force of Galen's attack rung through the youths arm, however, and the pain of the Ki surged through his arm. Causing a bit more pain, but nothing he couldn't handle!
“Talk about hitting hard…!” Rensu grunted out. His will was far from broken, however, and he only got more and more excited as this battle continued. “Can't stop yet, though..!" The youth backed away, gaining a bit of distance from his opponent. Beckoning him on with the wave of his hand. It seemed Rensu was ready to play defense! So he couldn't yet control his new transformation, the Super Saiyan 2. It was funny how similar his own transformations were in regard to the saiyans forms, as they were both anger based and, as he remembered, his own Super High Tension form was something he could barely control on its early days and even know it still had some influence over his general mood and behaviour; at this point he could only hope he would find a way to further increase his power output that didn't require the anger as a fuel. "Maybe you just need a better ki control in order to tame your energy output, Ren! I'm sure after we finish your training you will be good to go!" he said with a confident tone in the middle of the exchange of blows. The saiyan race was truly a warrior's race and they could grow way more than the humans in the middle of a fight. Galen took a very long time to understand such a basic concept of the "no mind state" and Rensu, with just a few minutes of actual Martial Arts training was already catching a glimpse of that. "It's impressive!" he thought to himself.
To see such a potential filled Galen's heart with hope: Hope that the Z-Fighters would indeed be able to come back and be the shield and sword to protect Earth from the evildoers. Maybe an era of peace wasn't such a far-fetched idea after all now that they had Rensu and Holly as part of the group. And maybe even other warriors would end up joining and further increase their force. Hope was the one thing that drove Galen and it was getting a hell of a second wind this time. As they fought, Rensu was quick to react to Galen's Paper attack and he managed to block with his own open palm, but it was obvious he took some damage from it as he could see his arm shaking from the impact, as the kinetic energy traveled through his one limb. The saiyan quickly disengaged, trying to put some distance in between them, but Galen wasn't willing to let the fight cool down; he had the current advantage in this battle and would keep on pressing Rensu.
"Oh, but I won't let you get away!" he said as he dashed forward with his light blue aura around his body. "Rock, Paper... SCISSORS!" he shouted as he got once again close enough and, this time, he aimed to poke both Rensu's eyes with his index and middle finger. It was a nasty move, but he was also trying to teach him the Turtle School style and this was the first technique to be mastered. If Rensu had as much potential as Galen believed he had, he would likely be able to use the Rock version of the move to block the assault and show he was indeed evolving in the style; if not, he would just have to keep on pushing him. The best way to actually learn was through rough practice.

“I don't doubt that,” Rensu nodded. He was sure that he just needed to figure out how to better control his power. If he did that, then Super Saiyan Two could be the greatest thing in his arsenal. And then, from there, he could reach even higher and obtain the stronger, more complex and powerful evolutions of the Super Saiyan transformation line. It was a perfect idea, really. But, at this point it was just a matter of actually completing the task. As of right now, he had to focus on this spar. He countered Galen with a strong finesse, sure, but he had that gut feeling that this Tower Keeper had far more than just the Rock and Paper variant of his fatal combination. His excitement had yet to be reigned in, however, as Galen's own soul was burning with fervor and great desire for a momentous battle. The spark in the man's eye contagious and causing a similar glimmer in the boys black eyes. “To think: This is just the start..oh man!!”
Hope was an interesting thing. It both made and broke man, it drove the spirit forth and also drove it to the ground. It was an incredible concept that when at its peak, could mean that a warrior was able to progress and evolve into a far more powerful, ascended form of themselves. When it was at it's low, that meant a warrior likely felt as if they were the scum of the planet and unable to fight on. It was something that couldn't be studied yet was so complex yet also universally understood by anyone or anything with a heart beat. Now, Rensu was able to get that contact hope from his brown haired ally. The one armed Saiyan felt, too, that the power of the Z-Fighters was capable of becoming the very Sword and Shield the Earth needed to be put into it's era of peace it so deserved. They could do it, them and the many others they'd likely recruit and make apart of them fantastic team.
He also felt the heat of battle crawling down his back. The disadvantage he had and the feelings it brought on. Hopelessness— Or what would've been hopelessness if he was someone else. Instead, the boy felt nothing but excitement and hot adrenaline pumping through his veins. His confident grin never left him, even as Galen exclaimed he wouldn't let up on him. “Yeah, yeah! As if that'd ever bother me!” Rensu argued, launching himself back into Galen, expecting another Paper. Alas, the human chose the final variant of the RPS Combination, and selected Scissors. Rensu given but a moment to react, and deciding to keep up his defense. Taking a deep breath, and holding it in his chest, the boy dropped back a bit, as if he was dodging. “Scissors! Rock beats scissors!” He exclaimed to himself, biting his own lower lip and quickly bringing his fist up, his fingers folded tightly into his palm, and his knuckles brought up to Galen's wrist, aiming to knock the man's hand up and away. “Hyah!” Tagged:Galen WC: 517 TWC: 2,012 Base PL: 294,537 Transformed PL: [—] Health: 632,524/706,342 Stamina: 4/4 [+1] Battle Info: I. Meeting his expectations, Rensu was indeed learning as he fought and when Galen came with his attack once again he was able to fully defend himself and even go beyond that, he damaged Galen's fingers a little bit as he could feel the sting of pain running through the his nerves as the two fingers hit the clenched fist, making the human grimace a bit as he pulled his hand backwards, shaking them a bit in order to try and get rid of the pain. He was still smirking despite the grimace and was feeling rather proud of his newest student. "That was good! You were indeed paying attention to the technique! That's one of the main pillars of the Turtle School: adaptability. You have to adapt to many situations, just like a turtle adapts to the life both at the land and at the sea." he said as he remembered Master Cornatto's words while he was studying under him on the Southern Islands.
"Well... That was really god. But there's an even better way to focus your power and achieve better results with a technique, and I will be showing that to you know, so brace yourself!" he warned him as he moved backwards a bit, putting some distance in between then, only to pushed both his hands forward for a moment before bringing them back to his right side. "This is the signature technique of the School! Ka... Me..." and Galen started concentrating his power in between his hands. "Ha... Me..." as he focused his energy a growing energy sphere, blue in colour, appeared in between his hands. His ki energy was growing fast and this attack promised to be stronger than any of the previous ones. "HA!" he exclaimed as he fired a powerful blue energy wave towards Rensu. It was strong and fast and yet Galen didn't seem to tire himself while using it.

“Right, okay. That sounds about right.” Ren nodded in agreement and understanding of Galen’s statement. That Master Cornatto seemed to have a mean understanding of balance and equilibrium. The steady and sturdy defense that the turtle owned on the land, and the swift and cunning nature it boasted in the sea. Nevertheless, Rensu was quite pleased with how this spar was beginning to go. They were no longer on uneven terms, as Rensu was beginning to understand the Turtle Hermit style. The RPS Combination was absorbed into his memory and he decided he'd incorporate it into his arsenal for later use. He had to say, though, he wished he could have met this Cornatto character. He must have had been a pretty stand up guy and an even greater warrior. Perhaps in another life. It was time to focus back onto this battle at hand. There was more education be had! The young man furrowing his brow as he focused in on Galen.
“A better way, huh? Lay it on me.” Rensu spoke out, allowing his mentor to distance himself a little and prepare his oncoming attack. “The signature technique..alright. I'm ready.” He stated, locking his feet into the ground and bringing his arm over his chest. Preparing to defend against the attack. Taking a heavy breath before exhaling and mentally fortifying himself and his body. “Ka..me..ha..me..ha?” He mouthed each syllable that escaped Galen's lips and took careful note of how he gathered his Ki so proficiently. It was certainly something. His eyes closed, though, as the beam came rushing forth. The product of Galen's focus coming and forcing the boy to be pushed back some. His arm opening up violently to push it off of him and make the beam vanish. Albeit, the effects were clear and the damage was dealt desoure the youth having guarded against it. Smoke rose from the young man's body as he began processing the attack and it's effects. “Phew.. that's something.” He panted, impressed with the move and it's function on the body.
“I'm guessin’ it's my turn. Right?” He asked excitedly. His hand whipping outward and his Ki being focused into his hand. Steady breathing following the action and paced breaths after. His eyes open and focused. Everything connecting and coming together. “Kamehameha, right? All together?” He asked. Just in case, he didn't wanna mess this one up. “Okay..” He sighed. In a matter of seconds, an orb of Ki formed in the palm of his hand. Fitting in the curvature of his hand. The strong color of blue and white shining and shimmering wildly before calming down. “Try this one: Ka! Me! Ha! Me!” He began the chant. His hand shooting forward and the untamed power of his spirit firing forward and back towards the Tower Keeper!

Rensu was quite impressive. The potential this young saiyan had inside his core was massive and Galen wondered why none of his allies had bothered training him in Martial Arts before; if he knew how to fight properly, he might've had won against that mechanical dragon beast that attacked Earth. Of course it would still be very likely that Earth would be destroyed, but they would at least have put more of a fight. But it didn't matter, just like he had told the boy before, the past is over and there is no use thinking about what could've been; what truly mattered was the future, and the future was looking quite bright and full with hope now that the Z-Fighters were about to be brought back to existence. Once they figured out a way to bring back the Earth, it would be much harder for the enemies of the planet to succeed in harming it again, and that thought got Galen overly excited and that was obvious by the fire in his eyes and the large smirk on his face.
First, the boy did an amazing job at defending against Galen's kamehameha wave. "Well, you handled that pretty well, but the main question is, were you able to grasp the concept behind it? It can be quite the tricky move to some people." he said, hoping that the boy would once again surprise him. And so he did!
With just one hand, he started charging the Kamehameha and he was succeeding. "Wow! Impressive! That's the way to go! And with just one hand!" he couldn't help but to express how awestruck he was. Those saiyans indeed had some crazy potential and Galen couldn't help but to feel both glad and a bit envious; glad because they were allies, and a bit envious because he knew just how much he struggled just to increase his power a tiny bit, while a saiyan could increase their power as they fought, almost as if it was second nature. They were indeed a warrior's race.
As he fired the Kamehameha against Galen, the human braced himself, putting both his forearms in front of his body, cross-shaped as he tanked the full power of the blast. It was enough to scorch the sleeves of his shirt, but he didn't hurt himself by much. Of course that was only possible because Galen was indeed a fully trained martial artist and had tons of experience, otherwise this attack would've hurt himself quite a bit. "You did it! That's the Kamehameha! Amazing! I'm excited to see your full potential! But how about we take a quick break?" he suggested, as he was now thinking on how to proceed with the training.

Long, heavy breaths escaped the young man as the Kamehameha Wave hit Galen and was guarded against gracefully. It was such an exciting day, he had learned how to use his body and how to adapt. How to think and also be totally mindless in his movements all in one. Rensu was truly grateful to have Galen as his teacher this day. That, was for sure. As the beam concluded, the young man stood upright and closed his hand into a light fist. Moving it around to get of the kind of smoke that tended to rise off of limbs and objects hit by Ki. It was no crazy assumption, however, that Rensu was thinking things alike to what Galen was. He realized his own potential and how awesome it was. It was certainly something to be nurtured— Why hadn't it been before? Perhaps he had set himself up for it, but darn it! If only he had this kind of knowledge and training prior to that attack of the demons and their mechanical partner. It was a tough thing to do, but there was no time to toil and think anymore of the What-Ifs and the futures they held. If anything, it was this very one that had to be worried for. The reality of it all was that this galaxy had to be protected from things repeating themselves.
“Yes sir,” Rensu nodded. “I get it: I just gotta focus everythin’ together and make sense of everything in my body. Kinda just...become whole and let the Ki in my body express itself without any additional strain.” He raised both of his brows and scratched at his chin unknowingly, kind of speaking knowledgeably while also speaking as if he had no idea what the heck he was talking about. Shaking his head, he continued. “Nonetheless, I gots it.” Galen's compliments and praise was something the youth was none too used to, being as he received such things on rare occasion. However they fell upon listening ears.
“Ah, thank you, thank you,” He repeated, his cheeks flushed some as he received the words of achievement from his mentor. “The Kamehameha. Boy, that's quite the technique.” He thought. “I wonder what more I could do with it. I guess it normally takes two hands to charge, but, heh.. I gotta make due with what I have, huh?” Rensu smiled. Looking at his palm, he drew on a rather satisfied expression. Though, it was dropped to his side as Galen began to continue. “Me too, haha!” He exclaimed. Nodding, however, to Galen's mention of break. Perhaps they needed rest after such a time. Between all the learning and damage they had sustained, Rensu moreso, they'd need to regenerate some of that stamina.
Finding himself trotting over to his mentor, Rensu decidedly sat down. Resting his arm over his knee, and his legs crossed over one another. “Say, Galen: This is Heaven, right? Aren't there other warriors around? Like, from the past century or somethin’? Or are they all in retirement and enjoying that eternal rest stuff,” Rensu's question was fair, at least he felt. His eyes gazing up at the swordsman he had gotten the privilege of calling a friend. Galen nodded. "I'm impressed how you managed to charge it with one hand. It takes two hands because of the focus on charging and shaping. I usually use one hand for each task at the same time, but if you can do it with one, that's good considering that's all you've got. We've got to work with what we have! I, for example, I'm just a human, and yet I managed to get this strong. Not many from my people can actually make it, but it took me way longer than, say, a saiyan or a majin take to get stronger. So... We can either feel sorry for our lack of luck, or work around it, and in that sense, both of us are doing quite alright! Hehehe!" he said. It was really hard for a human to grow strong, especially considering how much more frail their bodies were, the fact that they couldn't really tap into inner and deeper sources of strength. It was especially hard when they didn't rely on technology to enhance them and instead tried to grow with their own power, as it was Galen's case.
As they sat down, Galen opened a bento he had with him with a couple rice balls and handed one to Rensu, so they could restore some of their stamina. They didn't need to eat as they were dead, but the false nourishment that it provided to the mind was quite helpful, Galen found out with his long stay in the afterlife. Rensu, while they were resting, asked if there were other warriors in the afterlife and Galen nodded, chuckling a bit. "There are warriors from all era around here, and I met quite a few of them. A lot of them retire and just enjoy heaven, others reincarnate as new beings, and others stay active and even fight in the Martial Arts Tournament they hold every ten years." he revealed as he chuckled, knowing the saiyan would likely be interested in that. "If I'm not mistaken, we will have a tournament in the next year, by the way." he revealed, cracking a smirk as he took another bite of his rice ball.
“Oh, yeah. I guess it kinda just came to me.” Rensu found himself looking to the ground. Kind of spacing out in a way, as he wondered just how he managed to do it. “I guess years of using other moves helped me out in that regard. So long to the Galick stuff, hehe!” He chuckled, snapping to attention and watching as Galen plopped right down beside him. His eyes never seemed to leave the human, and his statement on progression and evolution in battle left him with some questions. “Yeah? The way I see it is, like: Anyone in the universe could be a “super” warrior. So long as you really put your back into it. It just happens to be that Saiyans are genetically up there in terms of how we handle combat and growth. Believe me, it's not fair to me neither. I wish everyone could fight on even ground and grow at a similar pace.” Rensu mused on. It seemed the young man was marginally knowledgeable after all. It just took the right phrasing and words to get him to use that brain of his and turn it over to overdrive.
He gratefully accepted the bento, overjoyed to the sight of food again. In fact...were those tears in his eyes? His upper lip pulled in and chewed on as he turned to look at Galen straight on. “Thank you…” Rensu sniffled. “I was afraid I lost this pleasure...I'll never take it for granted again…” He sobbed. Wiping his eyes with his forearm, the lad rested the box on his lap. “Anyway..I think it's the lack of luck that makes this so fun. Different growing speeds means different fights, which means it never gets borin’.” Like that, the Saiyan was smiling once again. Digging into his lunch using his one hand, yet eating as if he had two as he feared not over balance or anything like it. He looked over to Galen once again, however, as he expanded on the many warriors whom spanned from era to era.
“That so?” He smirked. “Now you're talkin’.” Rensu had to know more. “So, everyone whose still fighting participates, right? That means even the Saiyans, Namekians, and every other type of Alien whose died in our galaxy? Maybe the others, too? I always heard there were these things, uh, Kai's right? Something like that? Maybe I overheard something wrong,” The youth shrugged. Either way, he was incredibly excited. That, and the tournament was only a year away? That meant training, day after day til it was time! His past as soldier, although not very well trained, did indeed help on his development. He had actual battle sense and that was way better than being a martial artist who trained for his whole life inside a dojo alone. Of course the balance between both was better, but if anything, experience did count. He did try to be nice with his "everyone could be super", despite agreeing with the genetic advantage of the saiyans and Galen laughed a bit, shaking his head. "Come on, Rensu, you don't need to be polite on that. I know that my race is not capable of actually competing in even grounds with the lots of Saiyans, Majins and many others. I do agree we can overcome our limits, and I'm a living example. But I've been training hard for my whole life and yet, I can't even compare to some kids from other races I've met. Even you." he paused, with a gentle smile on his face. "I'm sure that, once I train you enough, you will be able to surpass my abilities, at least in a sparring session. I have some tricks that may give me a hand in an actual life and death situation, but other than that... I feel you will be way stronger than me in no time." he admitted and even kind of looked forward to that.
The boy was visibly excited with the prospect of fighting people from different eras and the human could definitely understand that passion, but it didn't make it less entertaining and Galen chuckled. "Not everyone participates. You need to train a lot in order to be selected by one of the Kais. Usually the one in charge of overseeing your section of the universe, but in some cases they can choose a fighter from another section. In your case it would be... East Kai I believe. I don't know him personally, but I do know King Kai. I mean, he is the North Kai. And yeah, the Kais are kind of the first level of Gods we can find in the afterlife. But don't get me wrong, they are really powerful and important! It was King Kai who taught me the Kaioken, a technique that allows me to power-up even more than I normally can." he explained.
Rensu kept his eyes on the other male and kept his smile even as Galen laughed away the thought that all of inhabitants of the universe had what it took to be equal to one another. He shrugged and huffed. “I mean, sure— When you're putting it down that way, I guess you're right.” An exaggerated sigh would then leave the young man as he cupped his own cheek in hand. “I guess Saiyans are the strongest in the universe, barred none. And Humans are the weakest.” He'd slyly wink at Galen, trying to show how silly such an attitude was. “That said, though, I'm pretty excited to learn s’more and see what I can do with this power. Try an’ convert it into some good for this galaxy.” He paused and laughed a bit, too. “And I guess I look forward to surpassing you and getting stronger than ever, as well, hehe!”
He quirked a brow again, as Galen continued to explain the tournament and it's participants; Or, rather, those who did not participate. “Well, not everyone is a fighter. Some people are support and some people are spectators. Nothin’ wrong with that, they give us the will to make things extra flashy— Jus’ for them.” He guffawed, his laugh quite hearty and joyous. “East Kai, huh? I wonder what he's like. And King Kai, too. I wonder why he's the king. Or..did he just name himself that 'cos their divided by directions and his pals wouldn't find out..” He rubbed his chin. So many questions, so much (practically an eternity's worth) time. “Kaioken? Is that like some kinda power up? It sounds neat. Do tell, hehe!” Rensu nodded, asking to learn more.
