[Thread PL: 100,000]
Cryonia walked slowly through Rukia’s mansion. She was moving carefully so not to dislodge the Vampire from her grip. She was helping to support her, having placed one of Rukia’s arms around her shoulder. One of Cryonia's own arms was wrapped around the Vampire’s waist.
The party had been elegantly surprising. She had a wonderful time at the event. She wasn’t unused to attending such events as a important representative of her race, but it had been awhile since she had enjoyed herself this much.
Then things became strange. Rukia had declared herself a False God. Then after some strange ritual, she obtained some kind of power that Cryonia couldn’t sense. She had then demonstrated it with a spar. The Elemi had never seen anything like it before. She couldn’t sense her, but she could still feel the power flowing out from the Vampire. It was a truly awe inspiring moment.
Rukia hadn’t fatally injured anyone there, but she had damaged them enough to put them into healing tanks. Although if anyone had been studying Cryonia, there were moments where it looked like she wanted someone to bite the dust.
It all lasted in brief intervals, but they were there. Her eyes lit up whenever someone took a hard hit. And when those beings were dragged off to the healing tanks, a faint smirk graced her lips. She appeared to have enjoyed watching them get hurt.
She was back to her stoic self when Rukia invited her back to her mansion. Once they got out of view of everyone else, Rukia nearly collapsed. Cryonia caught her, and brought her back to the mansion. Now here they were.
Cryonia eased Rukia onto an opulent cough, standing up and looking down at the Vampire. Her dress was completely ruined. There were holes in it that showed off even more of the Vampire’s body. Which was rather pleasant for the Elemi hybrid to look at. Her gaze moved to Rukia’s eyes, speaking to the Vampire sternly.
“Testing out a transformation you were unfamiliar with was dangerous. You could have easily over exerted yourself and died. I won’t ask what this “False God” form is. Not when it's drained you so much. But we can't very well be partners if you kill yourself.”
The power that it gave her, indulged her in an overwhelming amount of confidence, as the fiery red aura that surrounded her, felt as if it burnt away any pain that could have came at her. So many attacks had been thrown at her all at once, but even when combined, they were still nothing to her.
Had she really wanted to kill them, she could have easily began charging her best technique at the start, and hit a good portion of them with a power level of nearly 15 million each, according to their advanced scouters. Something that could have easily gone and damaged the planet without both their efforts, and her own consciousness on just what she was doing. This new transformation wasn't something that suddenly spurred on some kind of violent change in her.
All it really did do, beyond acting as a contrast to the form she had powered up from, was make her feel good. No one apart of the ritual were meant to die. Some of them were apart of the Vampire community, rather than working for her, and she knew that they weren't as strong as her other allies actually were.
Though it certainly had meant to feel like they could have, as she wanted to test out this new transformations, which had made her power grown even more than what the scouters had recorded, being in just the form of an Antediluvian. 39 million total, was what it had registered in this new transformation, and given the time to have pour more power into her techniques, it could have easily gone way over that amount, at the cost of the lives she was facing.
Which made it unfortunate that kind of power actually had its limits. She had definitely considered it to have been the strength of a god, knowing Caesar had never reached that level of power. But beyond knowing she wasn't the strongest in the universe, what made her decide to call it the form of a False God, was learning that there was a certain amount of time before she would revert back into the form that she had actually powered up from to reach it.
Something which did wind up filling her with immense pain in the end, although she still found herself in a well good mood once that lingering feeling had subsided. But who wouldn't have been? To be able to taste such power and feel so invincible, was very much something that her desiring it. She wanted to know so much more about the form, and whether or not its apparent time limit was something which could have been overcome through training.
Other measures needed to be considered as well, and the thought of all of this had brought back a part of her she hadn't seen for awhile. Becoming a Matriarch had left her with the feeling that fights were something she no longer had a place in, outside of measures where they were necessary.
Which wasn't anything she had really argued against, knowing the kind of responsibilities that came with overseeing a whole population, regardless of what and how much help that she had gotten. She knew an Elemi who had practically shown disgust at the idea of having others do all the fighting, but it wasn't an opinion which she shared, knowing that it was about the Queen of Demons, who must have had some understanding about what it was like to rule.
It was only a part of her that wanted her to believe that she actually could get into that kind of fighting again, though it might have just also been exhaustion taking her, as this body of hers was sore enough that she needed to be supported by the companion she had showed up at the ritual with.
An aching tiredness, but one she was sure she would be able to ignore if she had tried. Although was there really a need to? They had made it back into the mansion, and the others should have knew better enough not to have came here for the night, no matter how injured she must have actually looked.
Thinking about what must have happened throughout the fight now, she could feel that certain spots on her body, felt more open than they really should have. A sign that her dress must have torn in places here and there. Though it was something that was obviously excusable, and like certain things that others were concerned for that she wasn't, it didn't exactly needed to be something that was addressed. Not when it should have been obvious that she knew.
She was placed on one of the couches this mansion had, and found herself lying in a way where with the other woman's position, there wasn't anything to really do beyond staring up into those eyes. Being back here in the mansion, she was reminded of another thing that she had the idea of doing with her companion. Something which only made her desire doing it more, as she listened to the stern tone the hybrid had spoke with towards her.
There were some points there about what she had done, and how dangerous it actually could have been, had she been fighting against the best of her allies. But the thing that had gotten most of her attention, enough to smile through this feeling of exhaustion, was hearing them be described as 'partners'.
She knew exactly what her companion was really suggesting, but with how she had intentionally tried to be more familiar with the hybrid throughout the night, even while handling over something as simple as an advanced scouter, it really did bring to her mind the idea that there was more beneath there.
"Partners, huh? You're right in a lot of ways. This night wasn't meant to be anything other than enjoyment, and while I want to say that test hadn't changed anything, it would be more appropriate to say that things have been adjusted."
She was tired and her body had ached, but she was still more than willing to speak and bear what pain came at her. It was actually funny that she was being talked to like this, knowing that the few times she managed to get a glimpse of the other man throughout the fight, it seemed as if she had enjoyed the blows that she had given to the others. It was just as questionable of behavior, and one that gave insight that she hadn't actually expected.
Though through these thoughts of hers, she knew that it might have hinted at how easier things would be to explain in the future, if the hybrid really had that kind of side to her. There was a lot of things that people with power were capable of doing, and some individuals like herself, were more carefully watched than they really should have been. One of the things that owning a planet was supposed to have barred, knowing certain behavior would be culture.
"I can tell you what I mean, but after I get a fill of blood. It'll help more than you think, and I have some flasks filled with it in the kitchen freezer."
Although a more easier way, was if she could feed directly from a source. Just a little would be all she needed to be able to move around more a little. Regardless of which method she could have winded up feeding from with her companion's choice, drinking blood was always going to be a pleasure.
She had needed so much of it at the beginning of being a Vampire, but through her progression of power, it became so obvious that she could never drink enough blood to sate her hunger. Something like a tiny drop, also quickly served to be what she could live off of for nearly the whole day, no matter how much power she used. With bloodmagic, there was a line between just how much of a hold it could have on her kind in terms of punishment, the stronger they got. She knew there certainly seemed like there were leeway this ancient magic was allowing, at several costs she and so many had dealt with.
When a Vampire had passed on, that magic within them, paired together with the strength that they had built up for themselves, she imagined must have been the thing that allowed them to bend it to their desire. No matter how new of a Vampire they were, as they were likely to be sired by someone with an ample of power, it was like a constant accumulation that adjusted for the next newly turned, in terms of just what they were allowed to actually do.
As soon as she had gotten that drop she had needed, true to what she had hinted about how it'd help, she was able to somewhat move more than she could have before, bearing how her body was still sore. But something like drinking blood wasn't meant to instantly heal her like that. Things would come naturally and over time, and what mattered right now was that it reinvigorated her enough to have her reach out her hand to the other woman, in an invitation to sit.
"It doesn't excuse what I've done, but I see humor in looking at my behavior, when your expressions throughout would be questionable to some."
It was a simple pull forward if it had been accepted, a smile managing to form that was slight, but still noticeable enough to carry the kind of teasing tone in her voice. Her way of speaking had always been proper in a way, although there were some occasional words and phrasing that was more relaxed.
Nothing many people would really notice of her, as she was publicly someone so business-oriented, holding no hesitation in politely mocking others who were dumb enough to believe their approaches weren't typical in some way. With her kind of power, Vampires could have easily been one of the few races that lived the longest, if the act of living too long wasn't likely to bore most, and drive many insane. There was no surreal peace to being alive, but what the afterlife had to offer, didn't really appeal to her enough to really welcome such a thing and avoid it. Vampires couldn't die of natural causes so it was their own sanity that did it, and it was because of this, that she was always going to believe some unknown was mistaken in their ideals.
"There's a lot about you I'm sure I haven't seen, though I don't expect for either of us to just know each other's history, in all just one day either. But there are things we can certainly do tonight, if you could trust I'll be able to move around fine."
Her hand had never really let go of the hybrid's own, since she had reached out as an offer to sit next to her, that knowing smile that she had shown since the other woman's arrival to the planet and throughout the night, easily forming across her lips. Though it had been a bit of blood, heat was something her companion would be able to feel from her, as if she actually wasn't undead. But her skin continued to remain pale, as bloodmagic bent to her desires, and it was an appearance that she had become used to. A lot of Vampires, if they really wanted to survive, would hardly think of such things as issues.
"And it all begins with some dancing. Waltz and other classical genre, would always remain to be more personal than what modern music could offer."
The dancing that they were able to get done, she had found that at some point throughout it, she had come close to the Demons, who were also the guests that she had been expecting. Beings who could have easily had the gall of not showing up for whatever foolish reason, yet she took the time to treat them as casually as she could have, with the kind of atmosphere that was around. There were periodic new faces that entered in, as her allies had rotated out those who had already been around for awhile, and these new faces easily brought with them a kind of new energy that she just seemed to feed off of.
As much enjoyment as she really did get out of modern dancing, it was true in her eyes that there was a sort of disconnect with both the rhythms of the music, and how personal experiencing it with a companion could actually be. An example of how simple things got now when it came to courtship, wasn't entirely bad, as the approaches to it could be more direct and based on the idea that the relationship was established prior and settled.
And while she did already state hours before while they were taking photos here in the mansion, just what this occasion had meant to her, she couldn't really say herself what would become of things after. A bit of it was something she would explain, should they progress further beyond just a little dancing, though it summed down to a couple of things that had to do with her desire to live a long life, and just how others had actually saw her.
No matter how much she talked about how individuals tended to treat people who had power, but no clear alignment, she could never get tired of it. Their beliefs weren't wrong in a way, but on a planet that was her own, there was not much reason they wouldn't wind up dead because of these views.
Time and time again she had addressed the reasons, and while it felt nice to have some kind of clear understanding, she herself believed that unless her own ideals had become culture, there was always going to be interpretations that she had despised and wanted to end. Something which did make her long for the kind of comfort that discussion couldn't give her. She didn't feel like she would ever be the kind of individual that was openly be affectionate around others. But there was such a huge difference in being alone and in the relaxed atmosphere of her own home, that could make a lot of things different.
It was a personal creation of her own, to be able to set this kind of mood, and it wasn't a place that she would have minded dressing a little different either. Power and an abundance of it, was the only thing that would have likely changed these specific views of hers, as the more powerful she became, the less likely she really needed to care about what others had thought. This evening, it had been seen in her choice of clothing, which noticing her other transformations, progressively got more bold in wearing much less. One of the reasons that she truly saw no wrong in being powerful, but using this power for something that wasn't just fighting against beings with different ideals. The Demons could be a problem, but only if they were allowed to be.
She didn't need to go and always fight them, to ensure that they wouldn't be. Not when she could manipulate others to do so for her. To be able to work with them so closely, gave her so much more leeway just as well in being able to assert how right her beliefs could actually be, but just needed influence.
Though it wasn't a question, she was waiting on an answer before beginning, her hand finally slipping away from her grasp of the other woman's, as she did wait for an answer that was momentary. It was all things that she was going with, based on feeling rather than planning, and things had worked out.
But she was eager to see just how far things would lead.
WC: 2,671 Thread PL: 700,914. Matriarch [x25] is active, but she's at her base pl.
The word she had chosen to describe their relationship between one another was simple yet apt. They were partners in the sense that they had entered an enterprise together. Now they seemed to be drifting towards another meeting of that word. It wasn’t what Cryonia expected to happen, but it wasn't unwelcome.
Well she should have guessed that Rukia would ask for blood. Given the nature of her species it provided many functions for them. Cryonia couldn’t donate any blood to Rukia, so she went of to the kitchen and returned a few minutes later with a cup of blood. Watching with interest as the Vampire stretched out her hand.
“Excuses are for the amoral who can't accept the mistakes this made or how adhorant their actions are. There's much you don't know about me. Not everyone shows themselves so openly.”
Cryonia reached out and grasped the Vampire’s hand gingerly. She let herself be pulled down onto the couch, crossing her legs and sitting up straight. The hybrid looked upon the smile that Rukia had been giving her all night. One would have to be daft to not know what she wanted to happen later.
“To tell you the truth, I would want to do those things even if you asked it of me in a tired state. It's been a long time since I’ve done certain things. In several decades I haven’t had an interest in certain activities with anyone, except with you.”
Cryonia squeezed the Vampire’s hand, giving her a small smile. She was surprised that Rukia was going in like this. They weren’t unwelcome advances though. Everything had been well thought out by the Vampire. She was taking her time getting to that eventual moment. She wouldn't go to this much trouble if she was just someone to throw away after the night was done.
“I would be honored to dance with you in a refined manner. The party didn't allow us as much intimacy. It's something It’s one of the things I’ve been looking forward to happening tonight.”
Cryonia wasn’t going to come right out and spell everything out. Although she was sure Rukia would get the message. No matter where she went tonight, Cryonia would be willing to follow her.
There was always something that could have been done much better, and other things that could have been said. But power and having it, was something that made it not matter to her how things could turn out, so long as the end goal had managed to be realized in the end. A cup of blood, rather than something straight from the source, she reasoned the cause might have been something with physiology, knowing that her companion was a hybrid than full-blood.
Even so, this issue did make one thing she had in mind, a bit of a missed opportunity, while also making her wonder just what else might not have been possible. There were a lot of beings that she had met throughout her more earlier time as a new Vampire, and many never failed to look at least somewhat human on the surface. Earth lore generally believed in the idea of incompatibility beneath that surface, but it was a theory in most cases.
There were alternatives for sure, if they did run into issues, though it wouldn't have been as mutual. Something which didn't hit all of what she was looking for tonight. She had already seen glimpses that would pave the way towards it, though part of that did begin with some of what she noticed.
"There's bias in such things as well, and some dependency on intention. I can think of a few examples."
Her pull with the hybrid to get closer to the couch, did hint at a few things, even if she spoke in a manner meant to add her own input here. Excuses wasn't something which would sit well with certain individuals, especially depending on the context of things. But something like what they were doing, she could think of a few things that could loosely be considered excuses. Her dress was something no longer in good shape, but remained to be one example.
The material was torn up in places, but still managed to hold on just enough without her having to hold it together, just to say on. Though she was sure some purpose to really change out of it, would have just broke it off entirely. Something that she wouldn't have mind in this kind of atmosphere.
"And I'd prefer some discovery, if certain things aren't a priority to tell. Wordplay can come a long way in paving towards that."
Similarly to being referred to as 'partners', the suggestion being made here held more than just one truth to it. All people really knew her to be, involved her own actions in business and other such affairs that many would be bored of. It was undeniable this line of work could be boring, and as a Vampire, that feeling could be doubled without the right mentality to it. Part of which could be relieved given the right opportunities to go and do so.
If they were going to be business partners, and if there was really any desire to continue pursuing things after tonight, she knew for sure there were going to be other options available for her, beyond just having one of her allies fill in for a break. Yet, there was still always going to be that reminder in her head, how much more likely others would fall for her, before she was ever likely to feel the same for them. Although there was a difference between attachment and openness to doing things. She assumed the other woman was more of the latter, but certain actions would be the thing that would tell.
"Expect for it to be a good night then. This day means too much for me, to make it anything less but memorable."
Decades. Though it could have easily been exaggeration, the different physiology that came with aliens, could have also made for a difference in time. For some beings, she was sure that a hundred years could pass by, but they'd still be considered young for their species. It was another theory, and one which she thought to be reasonable, with how different beings could be. Nevertheless, it only made her anticipate just what could happen hearing this.
She did have some alternatives in mind, if she was denied later in the night, but it just all seemed less likely the more things had gone on. It was something that was worked up to regardless of how responsive things seemed to be going, as there was one more obstacle before it all.
"Well you'll find some similarities to the party, though it's easier to pick up."
And just came more naturally too. A preview of things to come, she had already showed much earlier before they had even arrived at the party, but the whole thing was something they could have easily started now. Though still somewhat sore, it was a lot easier for her to move around now, and she used the time to move out things that could have been in the way. The camera equipment had been put away before they had left earlier, leaving really only coffee tables here and there that could have been more near the wall. As expected of a mansion, her living room was moderately large, but she knew there to be bigger.
The most important thing though with all her speeding around, which was rather light work in her eyes, had been turning on the dvd player that was stored behind a glass case. There was an assortment of music near it as well, stored in a fabric binder, but of them all she knew which one she wanted to grab.
As the dvd was pushed in, waiting to be played after a click of a remote, she had gone back to the hybrid, an offered hand reached out, which would lead the both of them near the center of the living room. The remote was clicked after, and lightly tossed aside as things had began to play, filling the mansion with the music. There were some other ones that would play after this one as well, but this stuck out to her the most of what she had knew.
Guiding the other woman to place her hands onto her shoulders, she had draped her own around the woman's waist. It didn't necessarily matter whether or not the hybrid was at least somewhat familiar with this style of dancing or not, knowing that the alien had been used to a life of riding in luxurious ships.
The thing that mattered here was action and reaction, with her intentions being pretty clear that she had wished to lead things. They might have usually had their own independence, but this wasn't really a night meant for going back and forth with verbal affairs that they could normally bring up.
"One of my favorite pieces. Things start slow, but that'll change. I like to believe it represents how fast things could fly by, and how much things could change."
Much like art that could be found in a museum, which she held less interest in, music of this genre wasn't composed without purpose. As she had gone and led the way, stepping back and forth with the occasional turn around. It might not have seemed like it, but it did move them all around the room as it was meant to have, with the direction being chosen and guided by the turning around. As the music began to quicken as well, one of her arms moved more to the back of the hybrid rather than the waist, while the other arm helped take things in stride with the beat of things. She had a big reason for liking this piece.
Even from the beginning, there was a sense of nostalgia it carried along with it, the change in tempo only serving to emphasize her own interpretation of things. So much to look forward to in the future, and preparations to make. To live the kind of lives that they did, day after day, it was something which so many others would have likely gave up on. But this is what she had chosen for herself, and while it wasn't a decision that would change, these little reminders were something that did exhaust her in a way where being like this, brought back how much she really wanted this kind of comfort now and again.
Other songs had automatically kept playing on the dvd player, but she easily found herself resting her head at one point, on her companion's shoulder. It was only the realization and of what was left, that brought her out of this sense of lulling peace, as the night was approaching its resolution.
She had to turn off the music completely, as it would otherwise be stuck on repeat, but she felt a whole different air after all that which did feel refreshing. Part of it might have easily been the time spent recovering from her injuries, though there was also what everything so far had meant to her.
"I think that's enough for tonight in regards to dancing."
Her forehead had lightly moved to touch the other woman's own, as she had spoke again, a brief moment which could have easily given the impression, that she had been meaning to lean in for actual contact that so many others would have gone for. But her choice of music, along with her words about it, wasn't something picked unintentionally. Time really did often seem to go by quickly, and things had also gone and changed because of that.
Coming back from the ritual, and having to be somewhat lectured about the danger and its risks, there was a lot of things that she had wanted to say about all of that, but was merely pushed back to carry less of an atmosphere for concern. Though grabbing the hybrid's hand to lead her upstairs to where her room was, that wasn't something which could have really been done. There were things that needed to be said, which she had pushed off throughout the night.
“There are some exceptions to everything of course. But those are few and far in between when trying to justify one’s actions. Words are more important than people realize. They don’t get the value of shaping and forming them, do get the results they want. What you convey doesn’t matter if you don’t put effort into it. Wordplay can mean all the difference: we wouldn’t be having this conversation right now if you had just come out and directly say what you wanted things to go tonight.”
Cryonia sat there on the couch, her hand still holding onto Rukia’s. The atmosphere was building up to something in the distance that was steadily closing in. The Vampire was wrong: it was going to be more than just a good night. It was building up to a wonderful moment at the pace things were going. Granted it wouldn’t be as wonderful as the first time she experienced this kind of thing, so long ago. But she would trade a hundred years of her life for just a sliver of those feelings again. At the very least, tonight would lead to that much.
“If we’re doing a waltz, then it’s something I know by heart. It’s been a long time since I’ve danced like this, but it still feels like I did it yesterday. Especially wearing this dress again.”
Cryonia let the vampire led her to the middle of the room after putting on the music. As it turned out, the hybrid wasn’t exaggerating when she said that she knew this style of dancing. She and her partner waltzed within the room, turning when needed to match her partner’s movements. They were so in synch that it seemed like they were gliding above the ground.
“You had this all planned out long before I arrived here. The music selection was well picked, in both it’s quality and symbolism. You’re right: nothing stays the same forever. Everyone and everything eventually changes. I wouldn't be here right now otherwise.”
Cryonia was surprised when Rukia rested her head on her shoulder. She didn’t think she would go for this kind of closeness. What they had in mind later didn't require these mind of moments. Cryonia took extra care to make sure that Rukia’s head stayed perched on her shoulder, her movements becoming slower and more precise.
Cryonia looked into Rukia’s eyes when she pressed her forehead against her own. Her skin would feel cool to the Vampire, despite the excitement the night had brought so far. She let herself be led upstairs towards the bedroom.
“I’ve never done this kind of thing with a woman before, and only one person prior to this. So this is new territory for me. I thought you should know in advance.”
Rukia deserved to know what she was getting into. Although Cryonia didn't expect it to change the outcome of the night. Both of them wanted this, do it was going to happen. But she wasn’t going to hide anything from her soon to be partner.
Becoming a Vampire was possibly the easiest and most natural confidence to get.
She didn't have much of any that she didn't consider to be 'bratty' back then, and there were limits to how confident she could be. The thought of even talking to someone she liked for far too long, was something that made her face red, and eyes desperately looking around somewhere else.
But everything that becoming a Vampire had put her and so many others through, those kind of things were too juvenile now, for things to have really be the same. The more powerful that she had gotten, the easier it was to have recognize how she would have been before her transition into a Vampire.
They were certainly days that she had missed in moments of her life, knowing that it was really easy to be happy without having to surround herself in certain factors, or get herself into some kind of mindset that transformations had allowed, as higher power became key in gaining control of herself.
But to go and become human again, or really, any other race that wasn't ageless, didn't align with her goals now. Things had changed, and to go back would mean reversion than anything, knowing the limits that those days had given her. She considered things to have been real good for her now, even with all of the obstacles around, and even if they weren't, there was no reason that she couldn't have used her own power to shape things into being better.
Left and right, she had been somewhat suggestive and teasing with the words that she had been hearing from the hybrid, with the most direct she had gotten about it so far, was confirming how different wordplay could make things sound. Though unsurprisingly, her companion had a response to what she had said, and if she could have really believed in the idea of emotional attraction for herself, this would have been one of the traits she'd find appealing.
It was so good to hear this kind of intelligence, and what kept it from being similar to how she and that Queen of Earthhad turned out, was that the alien was more considerate about other opinions. She held her own independence, but she didn't actually seem like she was eager to impose one way onto someone.
"It wouldn't have been appropriate without some effort and response long prior. A celebration for myself, doesn't really mean disregarding consent as well."
Unlike the small ones she had been showing throughout the night, hinting at implications and things, the smile that formed from hearing the hybrid, was one which could have easily been shared by simple two friends going back and forth on a topic. Normal enough to really consider just what time they could easily spend the next day, going over what they had both missed in their lives. She had been certainly busy, and fortunate to come across the right opportunities.
When they had finally taken over this planet in its entirety, getting rid of its current government, it would be somewhat hard to run into such events again, even if she had stationed allies to be there for her. She couldn't leave this planet without protection in the case that it had gotten attacked.
Sayako would have to watch the place, she was nowhere near a match to the higher powers that could invade the place, even with the help of the others. There was so much in store for them in the future to look forward to, and the most important was looking for allies that were able to actually join them.
The touch of her companion's hand was something so many others in their situation, would have likely desired. And in a way which they were likely to have been so assured about a forming relationship, or that their current one was going to be maintained. But she couldn't have really said such things herself.
A lot of this stuff was unclear to her, knowing the kind of complications that could come in the future, with her plan to continue being immortal. Thoughts of which was easy to distract herself from, as she carried on with the things that she had in mind to show the other woman, from the preview earlier.
"I wouldn't mind doing so more myself, after trying to find the time for it."
Night had always been where she was free the most, although many of those she knew were usually asleep rather than awake. She didn't necessarily have to do so as a Vampire, but trying to fight against the magic within them for such a thing, did require access to their other transformations to pull it off.
It wasn't surprising to take the hybrid's word on how she remembered this style of dancing. There were a lot of things that she had took seriously, barring the idea that it was something ridiculous. This event was the biggest example, and had the other woman not have been able to attend, she likely would have accompanied either one of the Demons who could have easily not shown up, or one of her allies. She believed results would have been similar however.
That was just the thing about others who believed in the idea that relationships could be pursued. They saw things that she didn't share in, and while she wasn't against giving it a try herself, to the best of her ability, everything had still relied on what was there for herself in the future.
"It's a bit too much credit you're giving me. A goal and the possibilities leading up to it, is what I'm better with on nights like these. We could have easily end up just talking for the rest of the night."
Still, it was something that she had appreciated, having this kind of belief in her. A lot of people, not just her companion, had believed her to be so assured about what she was doing from start to finish. It was a nice impression on the surface, but the goals that she had in mind throughout her life, had only ended in success because of cooperation, and putting in what power she could have to make things into a reality. That was one of the things it took.
Slowing down the way they had when she found herself resting on the other woman's shoulder, really did make her feel as if things could have ended right then and there, had she not been anticipating better. It was already confirmed that they were going through with things, and while she did find that she had some things to address, they weren't something meant to have stop things from going on. She really needed this kind of relief to conclude it all.
The cold that had came from the hybrid from her announcement on being done with things down here, was something she anticipated, but also had found curious. She could see it be an addicting thing, like what the feeling of power was still doing for her now, and what was to come as they moved on from here.
Things had blurred on by as she led the way towards her bedroom, the light being flicked on by her, as they had entered. There was a dial near the bed to turn it off when things were done and over with, but bodies weren't something to really shy away from, with the kind of intentions here.
"I've experimented with the others on a number of occasions, so I have. This isn't really a life that makes it easy to find prospects, and those who could possibly come close, just can't align their morals with mine."
Bringing them to the bed, her already ruined dress was easy enough to tear off, leaving behind only her garments, as she sat on her knees. Talking about the past was something she had generally ignored, as even when they were dancing, she could have asked about the last time the hybrid had danced and why she had stopped. They were just usually personal enough to ruin the kind of atmosphere she had wanted to set, but knowing where they were, it couldn’t really go on.
"There's some other things I wanted to bring up besides that though. With my kind of power, it's not really hard to find a relationship if I had really tried. And it's not even because of my standards, that I really haven't either. When you brought me here, you said that I could have easily died. While true, it’s nothing I haven’t already planned for. Natsumi and the others, you’re supposed to know better in the case that actually happens.
I can’t see myself gaining power like this, and not be someone’s target. Mistakes can be made, and not believing in that would be one of them.”
She had started to talk a bit less formally telling the other woman this, having seen throughout the night just how much the hybrid had really only wanted to do things with her for the most part. She wasn’t expecting for things to just change because of what was going to be their current intentions, but she wanted a confirmation or something that efforts could be made to at least try to be better. It was always something possible.
”Excluding the trust I’d be looking for in my friends, if I really were to pursue a relationship, there’s also how I expect to outlive other Vampires. Most of my kind are only capable of living a few hundred years before going crazy from boredom and deciding to pass on. If I really were to stay single, there would be at least centuries of flings there.
This doesn’t have to be one of them. I still can’t really believe in the idea of emotional attraction over physical attraction, but I’m not against trying if it was with you.”
Those two things were really all that she had in mind briefly stopping her from continuing forward. A lot of effort had been put in with her throughout the night to even get to this point, but she wasn’t someone not to try when it came down to things. Risks and such were needed to be taken for certain opportunities to even come into fruition. Something like this was a simple one, but nevertheless still mattered when it came down to things as it involved others.
It was only if the hybrid could have really accepted that, and how she was willing to go and try, would she go proceed, shifting herself so her arms could wrap around the other woman’s waist. It would change their position so that her companion was lying forward against in a seated position, while she craned her neck enough to where the alien would be able to reach it.
”Earlier I couldn’t really bite you cause of what I’m guessing were physiology issues. So I want you to bite me instead.”
A hickie. Drinking blood had been the excuse she had made to try doing so earlier, but since that might have been out of the option, this was an alternative. She was the one who was generally in control of things, and though the hybrid was the one who would be making the first move, it still felt as if things were the opposite as she kept her hands around the other woman’s waist, encouraging the idea of moving forward.
So Rukia had not been sure where things would lead prior to her arrival. Still, Cryonia had felt like she planned a lot of this out. She realized that just going right for the throat wouldn't have been the right approach to make. Instead opting to take things slower and build up to them. Rukia was selling herself short: she really thought things out.
It seemed as though Rukia was very familiar with this kind of thing. That didn't surprise Cryonia too much. She had a lot of followers, so it would have been natural for them to partake in those kind of things every once and awhile.
“So all you’ve had are flings. I understand why people would be hesitant to approach you. You’re different from anyone I’ve ever met. Someone who does not know you has no chance in understanding you.”
Cryonia watched as Rukia took off what remained of her dress. Unfortunately Rukia quickly sat in a position that didn't allow her to fully appreciate the Vampire’s form. It was honestly difficult to talk about serious things under these circumstances. But Cryonia managed to do so despite the distraction.
“I was planning on getting closer to your allies. If I’m to accomplish my goals I need to know what I have at my disposal. Getting somewhat familiar with everyone is also beneficial for forming lasting relations.”
Cryonia scooted over, cupping the Vampire’s cheek in her palm. The gesture itself was meant to be intimate. Although Cryonia was looking into Rukia’s eyes with the same calm expression she had the majority of the night.
“Nothing lasts forever. I know that better than anyone. But while you live, you need to latch onto any shred of happiness. Joy, laughter, every one of those. I have been devoid of those for decades now. I only feel alive under certain circumstances. So I grasp onto whatever happiness I can. You’ll die on day, but we don't have to worry about that right now.”
Her emotionless face did become alive with what Rukia said next however. Her arm lowered from Rukia's cheek, and she looked at the Vampire in bewilderment. She was willing to try to go beyond just a physical relationship? There was something she didn't expect
“If you only want to keep things physical, then we will only do this whenever it's convenient for you and you can experiment with others to your heart's content. If you want to try for a more serious relationship, then I’m the only person you can get this intimate with. I can't promise that I will grow to love you. But I’m willing to go for this kind of relationship if you want to.”
If nothing else, this would put Cryonia in quite a favorable position. Cryonia let out a short gasp as she felt Rukia pull her into a sitting position. It was much different then the last time she was like this with someone. Although this was appealing in its own way. Cryonia gave the Vampire a knowing smile.
“So that was also a pretense to give me a hickey? I must say, you might have picked the wrong person to have a relationship with. I'm not like a pure blooded Elemi physically: you wouldn't have gotten any enjoyment from biting me.”
Cryonia certainly didn't hesitate, leaning forward and kissing her neck before biting down hard. She gave into the passion that they had built up throughout the night, and partook in the pleasure it brought.
The dim morning light seeped in through the windows. Cryonia's eyes slid open slowly. She groggily shifted under the covers, looking over at the Vampire. Whether Rukia was awake or was still asleep. Only Cryonia's head and shoulders were above the covers. Her hair had come undone during the night, with part of it hanging over her face. She ignored her aching muscles and brushed it back so that it was somewhat presentable.
Cryonia would give Rukia a smile that was meant for only her. Cryonia had gone all out last night. She didn’t bother hiding herself anymore. Rukia had seen her true self: a being filled with energy and intensity, filled with darkness. And she had been okay with that.
It was hard to compare Rukia to the first person she had been with. Her feelings for her husband had been stronger on an emotional level, that was for sure. With Rukia though, there was a blazing passion that completely melted her cold demeanor. And it was amazing in its own right. She certainly had no regrets about how things had turned out.
It spoke volumes what power was generally meant to people.
Even back before she had became a Vampire, and hadn't really even utilized ki like she did now, it was clear to her and anyone else who was human that it was something to back away from, if the person holding it wasn't visibly good. Should they have been, she wouldn't have doubted that most would have felt more assured than anything. But she learned that people tended to ignore the context of things, preferring to go along with what they could see.
She was not a good person. The people that worked under her, and who she had allied with, she might have intended on providing the best, but they were people that she could use to kill those she disliked. And with how many individuals failed to grasp the idea that not killing them off the bat didn't mean she was approachable, there was plenty of reason to continue working for the Demons. Her ideas to take over this planet, when that had fully came to fruition, would surely wind up bringing in outsiders. But there was an extent to how tolerant she could be on those who were likely to show up.
Those who could have been considered to Villains weren't an issue, so long as they were at a power that she could invest in, and knew their place around here. This envisioned planet wasn't meant to be as whored out as Namek or Earth, knowing that gave the kind of impression that she didn't want.
In the foreseeable future, it would be very obvious and public how Vampires killed, and anyone dumb enough to believe they could stick around, were only awaiting their deaths. Vampires, Kold Demons, along with the Elemi and Bijou, were the only beings meant to really live on the planet. Everyone else that came here, including those she had worked with like the Demons, were only meant to stick around long enough for her to kick off plans in mind.
It was these little details and possibilities which could build up enough to exhaust her, and feel tired of life. She cared so much less about formalities when it had came to comfort, and it was something those working close to her, would quickly learn as the night had settled and peace had fallen.
A lot of them had started out as teenagers, nearly at the end of graduating high school, and hormones coming into play was inevitable with the right conditions. Boredom was the easiest she had known her more nonchalant allies to be, and despite those times, she wouldn't have said things had really changed. Even with what power she had, there were a lot of things that she wasn't comfortable addressing, and those times were one of those.
Essentially though, it could still be summed down to giving support where it was needed, that couldn't be solved verbally. Outside of certain and unwanted instances, there weren't really any suitors knocking at their door, and knowing where they were now, it was up to her allies to pursue anything regarding relationships on their own. Ones that weren't just situational, and which it would have taken conditional efforts for her to really go beyond that.
All of those working under her had their charms, but she hadn't been looking for anything but something physical on those days. There was no real yearning for anything, because in the end and without the consent for it, they weren't issues that she couldn't have gone and solved herself for those nights.
"There hasn't really been much of a chance either. Even back when I was researching beings I've never met, and in strangers that didn't hold a job like Capsule Corp, there wasn't much room but to move onto the next area. The others had their own charms, but part of wanting to live the life of someone ageless, comes with accepting most of them will die before I'm ready."
Through all the seriousness that had came with her concerns, she was still able to fully make out with the hybrid's position, what that dress had brought attention to. The position she had taken for herself, wasn't the same way, but she'd hardly be able to do any relaxing without addressing things first.
As the other woman had went on to calmly state that she was willing to know her allies better, she found that her cheek was cupped, as she was spoken to. It wasn't anything that she had found to be unusual, knowing this was just what the alien was like, excluding the certain moments where she had clearly wanted to counter or add onto something. But then the other woman had went on, her words indicating that there was all something more behind this demeanor.
Something which only a fool would have really expect to be fixed in one day. There was a kind of desperation there, which she could only assume must have been related to this past relationship, seeing as how decades had been mentioned once again. Earlier on in the day, she had already asked if her companion would have taken revenge on anyone if she could have. She supposed the answer might have continued to remain the same, knowing what they were getting into.
The spark of emotion that came after her own words, had been enough to make the other woman lower her arm, the words following after being a decision she already knew the answer to. If the hybrid hadn't been shown up, what they were planning to do, would have likely resulted the same when it came to intentions, but not the reasons for it. Coming to the party with an ally of hers, wouldn't have really been no different than the other times.
With one of the Demons, there was enough of them that inherently held lust that monogamy couldn't have satisfied. The hybrid, she had already figured something more than physical could have been a possibility, knowing they both held their own kind of independence, among other things.
It was more than just the something familiar she could get with an ally, and something new with a Demon that also held their own influential positions. The other woman was a very real reality of a relationship that could actually mean more than her precedents regarding something this personal.
Recognition of that didn't necessarily mean she believed in it, but she took things pretty seriously, and this wasn't just anything fun to try. The hybrid would wind up knowing her in ways better than her past affairs could ever have. How long it'd take to mean something, only time would tell.
"I do want to try something more serious. What I've had with the others, hasn't really been a thing for awhile, and it's never been something I've yearned."
The invasion on West City had been a big cause of that, although even beforehand when she had to deal with the Queen of Earth, her more personal needs were put aside to pursue other things. It was another thing about her she would be open to reversing however, that not many would think she'd consider.
But they were thoughts that she had put aside as she changed their position, the hybrid practically being ontop of her for this. That short gasp seemed so much like a preview of things, and getting through all these concerns of hers, it really did make things a lot easier to relax and smile again.
"It was worth a try, but even a peck wouldn't have been so bad."
There were things to work up to when it had came down to this kind of personal thing, at the very least until both parties involved were well established with each other, and how things worked. To be physical was nothing more than a benefit when something became meaningful. It was a side of a relationship that she had yet to see the beauty of, and it was only a wonder of how lasting things could truly be, for those who weren't in complete bliss of things.
The lack of hesitation from the other woman, was surprising in a way that made it utterly indulging to feel, passing the night by as it led to more.Morning had came in a flash.
Although what had happened the night before, was something which would remain fresh in her mind for a long while, even if she was no longer riding on the high of power. There was still a good hold of it she could feel if she tried to figuratively grab at it, but nothing that was immense and noticeable.
Power just wasn't something that could always be active without permanence. And to get such a thing, she could only imagine how restless she would feel, having such an abundance of energy around. Last night had already been something special, knowing that her companion was inexperienced in this area.
But it was both willingness, and the hybrid's own surprising amount of energy, which made things interesting and work out great throughout the night. So much that it was a bit aching to be awake. Though she was, and before even moving on to open her eyes, leaned more into the neck of the body besides her.
All of the comfort there was yesterday, and throughout it all, staying somewhere like this was what she had wanted. There had definitely been plenty of instances in the past where she easily could have had things this way, but there had just been so many things stopping her. And something of comfort like this, was still only one thing against many reasons, on why she hadn't really pursued any relationships beforehand. It was something she needed to believe in first, and everything here with the hybrid, was meant to really try and make that kind of thing a reality. Though it wasn't one meant to be so obvious.
There was a big difference in actively trying to form a relationship, and making a current one better than it already was. She wasn't meant to suddenly be smitten and see the hybrid in all kinds of ways. Understanding was the one thing that people generally got wrong about her, but it could change.
"I really want to just stay like this, even if it isn't viable."
It wouldn't have been the first time after last night, that she had gone and lightly placed her lips onto the hybrid's neck, even if it wasn't otherwise penetrable. Something which both reminded her of the hickie she knew would still be on her neck for a couple of days, and how literally cold the other woman could get. But she liked it. That cold was addicting in a way, and there was a difference in having it come from someone, instead of her transformation.
Moving away and bearing the aches of doing so though, was when her eyes had actually did open, a smile forming. Coming from her, the idea was really something so many wouldn't get to hear, without getting to know her in some kind of way. She was pretty business-oriented usually for most to catch her even relax her way of speaking, like she was doing now. Even with the party that had been thrown upon her becoming a False God, the Demons still seemed to have found it hard to believe that they were in the clear when it had came down to things. She had still needed to go and speak with them personally.
But there was a lot of time before then, and if they were really in a rush, it should have been made clearer. Though knowing the injuries that she had dished out with them, she had doubts they were really going to be moving anytime soon. That power she showed off was enough to put most in healing tanks.
"A lot had happened yesterday, and I've noticed some things that while it not might be difficult to bring up, I'd prefer if we'd wait to talk about it. I have all this power, but not enough of it to deal with talking about certain things."
The hybrid's past relationship, had first and foremost, was part of that which she wanted to address right now. All those things about the hybrid hadn't really seen what was essentially hope for decades, it was a kind of outlook that she wouldn't have exactly had disagreed with. What her companion had, must have been really beautiful if she could really go decades without trying to even form another relationship. The others would have cried if they knew.
Some of them anyway. She could only recognize that it would have normally been enough for one to do so, but this relationship of theirs was something to really develop, as she didn't really hold any strong feelings currently, to go and do more than be as considerate as she would with an ally.
"It's not even like I don't want to either, it's just we're meant to look more forward to the future than anything else, and part of that is trying to better things. I'll do what I can to help you meet the others more, but nothing we're dealing with can really be fixed in a day."
She covered the blanket over herself because of a different kind of cold with the air itself, rather than because of modesty, only slightly turning as she talked to the other woman. With how they normally were, it was going to be inevitable bouncing between seriousness and something more relaxed.
Though so long as the hybrid was at least willing to respond in the first place, it wasn't something that really had to be a bad thing. That was a detriment in itself, to go and lull over a matter so much, that things couldn't have really progressed. And with all of their issues, she wasn't really looking to mimic the kind of things that this past relationship the hybrid had. Nor did she really need to. Things would happen naturally and they'd form their own groove. She might not have ever really been in anything she could consider a real relationship, but there wasn't a need to know what was meaningful.
"We're going to have to check up on the others, before getting enough of a break to come back here again. I don't think it'll leave too much time to catch up with the things that'll need to be get across, but going somewhat public is never really easy."
Another smile had been given, before she had gotten ready herself. There were a lot of morning preparations to get through, but other stuff could be put off enough to give the rest of the day after to be free. The Vampire community was going to be something that took up most of the time than anything.
There was also temporary offices and such so that they could get a firmer hold on the planet in regards to, having some kind of balance in the move to this planet. But even with all of the work that she was seeing and had in mind to do, she could never forget what her companion was really like.
Fixing it was something she still wasn't sure herself, if it was something necessary at all.
“We could stay like this for awhile if you wish. We don’t have to get up right away if you don't want to. It's entirely your decision.”
Cryonia hummed lowly when she felt the Vampire’s lips on her neck. She slip her arm over and draped it over the shoulders of her… girlfriend? They seemed to be a couple now, for all intents and purposes. Despite what she said, Cryonia didn't want to get out of bed just yet. She wanted to fully enjoy the moment with the Vampire.
Cryonia smiled back at the Vampire. Now that the night was over, she could feel a bit of the emptiness returning. Which was why she wanted to stay in bed for as long as she could: when they got up, the moment would be over.
Cryonia’s smile faded when Rukia brought up that there were certain issues she wished to address. There were some things that she never wanted to talk about. But if they were going to be in a genuine relationship with one another, honestly would be essential to keep it intact.
“There are some things you can't fix, no matter what you try. I have been looking towards the future for a long time. Until now, it's been the only place that had anything for me. I now have the present. But there's nothing left for me in the past.”
Cryonia slid her hand back and turned around, the sheets rustling as she looked towards the far wall. Sooner or later she was going to have to talk about her past. She would opt for later at the moment. She didn’t want to being that into the bedroom.
“I’m not going to be able to make friends with everyone in one day. Or even get to know them all that well. That kind of thing takes time. I have to start somewhere though.”
Cryonia tilted her head, looking behind her just in time to see another smile sent in her direction. It was interesting seeing this side of the Vampire. She was certain that most people didn't get to see her less formal side. Unfortunately the moment didn't last forever, like she knew it wouldn't.
“I suppose there's a lot of paperwork and busy work that comes with a transition of power. When it happens in a more civilized manner. Well, let's get going than. The sooner we can get done out there the sooner we can return to the mansion.”
Cryonia slid out of bed, taking out another capsule with clothes in it. Since they were lovers now, she had no qualms about showing off her body. She quickly got ready, and they both headed out to take care of business.
Cryonia made it into the mansion, walking over to the couch and sitting down on it. Even when in private Cryonia handled most things with grace. Even when she was tired as all get out, she wasn’t just going to plot down onto the furniture.
It had been tiring going out and meeting and familiarizing herself with Rukia’s allies, and to do all the official things in making Rukia’s rule over Bris out in the open. Especially after what she did with Rukia the night prior.
“I envy your vitality. You have been through more than me and you aren't winded at all.”
Cryonia looked over at the Vampire. Cryonia was able to handle business situations of course. But Rukia could do all that even after pushing herself to her limits. It was something the hybrid admired about her lover. It reminded her that she needed to become stronger.
It would have been easy to just go and lie here all day.
Her allies had already proven they were capable of substituting for her, but to go and allow them to do so, even if it would have been for a short while, would mean taking something away from herself. As much work as there could be, it was a purpose to even have these kind of opportunities, and she had her own role to play into making things even better. Life was meant to be good for those who had the power, and put in the effort to make it such.
Although there were certainly also grievances that could befall those who try, something she'd say both her and the hybrid had already experienced. But there was no real resolution in her eyes, and only actions that could potentially better things in the long run, than anything else.
The smile that faded from the hybrid's lips, she knew would have likely meant more to someone else. Stinging in some kind of way, bringing forth the kind of pain that only someone in love could have really felt. But recognition, that was all it was to her. Other than being assured this envisioned land of hers could come true, she wasn't meant to make promises here and there about how as time had moved on, the other woman would find herself completely opened up.
That was dependent on one's own willingness to change, and with how her companion's arm had slunk back from being underneath her, it didn't seem likely right now it was something that would happen. Though she had doubts, it might not have even been an issue that really needed to be fixed.
"There can at least be effort in making things better. Although I guess you can argue we're already trying to do that."
Fixing the past wasn't viable, even if there were time machines around to make it a possibility. The Tournament of Power had already proven that things worked off of multiverse theory, so any change made would have only gone unnoticeable to anyone but potentially the person involved with making that change.
Even then, it was only a possibility that they wouldn't forget themselves, or evidence that there was a change at all, wasn't just magically erased. To also go and take away character, only really said to her that things wouldn't really be the same anymore, knowing how different things could possibly be.
Happiness, and an eternal one, she'd say was better off created through one's own means, knowing what the afterlife was like and its lack of appeal to her. It didn't bother her seeing the other woman just turn away after her words, liking staring at just nothing as she continued to answer.
She knew now more than before, that the hybrid's way of speaking was although normal in a way, it wasn't really the happiest that the other woman could have been. But they were trying to state here that it was a possibility, addressing things that would be painful for them both, so it was no surprise.
She didn't know how things would be when it happened, but she did know with what was in store for them today, time would pass rather quickly.Things being busy was just inevitable.
First and foremost, the Royal Palace had to be settled into by the others, having already cleaned the place out the day before. It was the first thing that she had wanted to check out, knowing the others hadn't likely decided to sleep in the place, since the other mansions were already available.
But things were meant to have been moved into the palace, as the place was too large for her to really occupy the space herself. She had a little bit over 20 people closely working for her, and it was a number that only continued to grow, the more that the universe had changed, and she actively sought individuals out. In the foreseeable future, there were going to be a few of those from Earth, who were meant to station themselves here.
It was too much of a liability not to have them as insurance, and while that meant it would make things difficult for the Demons that she was working with, that was kind of the point. If they had wished to really come onto the planet, it was best that they prepared themselves to possibly spite any Humans here.
Currently, only Capsule Corp employees along with their friends and family, were really on the planet. Vital resources that were a necessity, no matter how low their power level actually was. Though it wasn't as if they weren't also irreplaceable. One of the very things that made Capsule Corp successful was its persistence, and there was only a number of workers around, with the proper experience, that were needed to carry on plans and new innovations.
Nothing was entirely focused in just one area, so only a few of her many allies were actually around. They were five other Vampires that were near or of the rank that she was, but there was only one which was around here, and who was overseeing the only two other individuals that were moving things around.
Miki, Ayumi, Hana. Of the three, only the first two were actually Vampires, while the latter was plainly human. Although the middle held the lowest status of a Vampire, never really transforming like the others, she meant more than the common of their kind, due to having attended the same school.
Hana was the only one who had been from a different school, but all three of them had still always knew her personally, rather than her running into them from traveling around the land. Each of them were working on hauling things in, with Miki being the only transformed one of the group. Despite her meaning to be the self-imposed leader here though, it was Ayumi who had gone and stopped to greet them, waving. That hall monitor-esque armband was always around the girl's arm. It was an obvious sense of pride for her, even if it was just an ordinary armband, and the girl had never even held such a title.
"Hey! We should be done when night comes around. Yesterday was kinda rough having to help out, but I'm looking forward to sleeping tonight."
Enthusiastically with the kind of energy that she had always knew the Vampire to have, her ally had stopped in front of them, beginning to talk without any prompting. Getting to know their guests, had never really been something of a priority with those under here, unless it was pretty clear they were meant to actually stick around. She knew from Natsumi though, that Ayumi had been around the mansion, when the former had to substitute for her though.
Nose slightly twitching, a glance was given between her and the hybrid, before the smile the brunette was already wearing turned into something different. More like that of recognition, judging from the look in those eyes, and the Vampire also suddenly backing up slightly, hands behind her back.
"It's bound to happen on the occasion, beyond prompting by Capsule Corp. Although it'll likely be some time before I'd consider something enough of a milestone to celebrate."
"Of course it wasn't too bad. I don't think any of us were expecting for things to go so well. You're going around to check the others right? I'll let them know we'll start to settle in the palace tonight."
Whether her suspicions were accurate or not, there wasn't any obvious change of behavior, and her ally had made an effort to go and send them off. Things had blurred by pretty quickly after leaving from here, with similar situations occurring. After stopping at the Royal Palace, she led the way to the factory that was near here, to check up on productions, owned by her first business partner. The place holding nothing but Android workers that were unlike her own.
Then meeting of the four other Vampires they hadn't yet seen, who was already talking to Wintera. They were meant to benefit in some way beyond just rule of the planet, and the decision in letting her kind roam publicly had been one of the first issues that were meant to be solved. But there was also the matter of her being taught the style she remembered seeing some of the Kolds around here were using, along with the decisions of temporary offices.
Talking to the Kolds had been the most work, next to the Demons, but things had settled down somewhat when it came down to the Vampire Community as a whole. With the help of the others, it was easy to address them all at once using the compulsion of a Vampire, and so many of her other allies were seen around as these groups were called forth one by one. It wasn't just them patrolling the area, but also going on to help her talk to the community.
There were ideas and such she had in mind to build, though the time needed to gather such resources, being the thing that stopped progression. Something they were capable of relieving, so long as they stuck to the basics when it came to cooperation. All of it actually was a lot of work, having to check up group after group, and throughout it all, she did keep an eye on the hybrid here and there. But even with the similar instances to Ayumi, in regards to there being some kind of clear recognition, she hadn't acted anything less than expected of her, when it came down to talking and getting across things.
Going back to the mansion, it was unsurprising to being alone here again, knowing they had been told the others were going to start settling into the palace. She was meant to join them when time had passed around here enough, but the bulk of it all actually was over now. Once things were established, maintenance was the only thing that was necessary to continue upholding. And that was more than possible through continually interacting.
As usual as it might have been for her, being here again within the mansion was more than a relief. What had gone on throughout the day, she could feel had somewhat clung to her body, and they were days which she'd normally just lie somewhere. But things were somewhat different now, and she'd imagine it would continue to be, even after things were settled enough around the planet. Actual infrastructure wasn't going to be a worry for quite awhile.
"It was more verbal than anything. Things haven't settled enough for it to happen, but there's usually training involved, ontop of any grievances that need listening to."
Being back here on the couch again, it was true that she hadn't really even need to exert the use of her transformations, and that things could have been a lot worse. But she was able to move around rather fine, although did see it would have been nice to just be surrounded by comfort than anything else.
Looking back at the hybrid, she didn't make any efforts to really pursue anything physical just yet, but after yesterday and everything today, she was reminded of how they really could get down to actually catching up. Not all of it was particularly good news, but it was something to hear regardless.
"I think us catching up on events has been delayed long enough. I'll start off with something that happened with me, before asking something of you."
Nothing which she figured would have really dived into anything too painful, and it was meant to be an emphasis that things were going to be fine, slightly leaning against the other woman. She had really invested quite a bit of Capsule Corp money into this Elemi Restoration Project, which given the time, would really come and see fruition. The obstacles involved with such a project in the first place, lied in both finding Elemi, and having them willingly come.
"A lot had happened, but the easiest to trace back to, was meeting this figure people had called Caesar. I did some research after feeling like I had reached his level of power, and the man had a bit over 600,000 in power level. Others like the Saiyan leader on Namek, had feared him, but he showed me his memories and he winded up only trying to make himself sympathetic with all of his decisions. To fear him would be like fearing anyone with power. Due to some incompetence with Earth's forces, he had been the cause for South City being destroyed. The best thing I got out of it was certain knowledge and confidence that I could have done better with that power."
It was according to scouters upon reaching where she felt like that man had been, was she pretty sure she managed to actually surpass him. The downside about talking to Caesar however, as she went on to explain, was that her knowledge of the afterlife, was something which could have been painful to bring up. She knew the other woman had told her this morning that she had moved on from the past, but there were some obvious things she knew could be triggers.
Caesar had a habit of shapeshifting, and it only made her wonder just what could have happened, if someone had somehow knew what this past relationship had looked like, and tried to shapeshift into him as some way of mocking. It messed with the heart in so many ways she could do nothing but recognize that fact.
"I don't think it had really been all that long around that time, since we had actually met. You might have been able to convince Lithi, but it does make me wonder how many more other Elemi or Bijou you've managed to convince, that have just been waiting. For a planet like this, we could really make a home for those attuned with ice and fire."
They wouldn't really be able to support and sustain them until infrastructures could be built, which wasn't going to be for a long while. She did actually trust that progress had been made and would have, even if this new relationship of theirs had gone towards the alternative. Her decision to invest into someone was usually promising, as she had yet to really need killing. But she also didn't really invest in just anybody, if they weren't influential.
The Elemi had been essentially who she had adopted, and taken care of just like any of her other allies. There had been some recent issues with the girl being in an elemental state since the West City invasion, but it was something she believed had to do with stress, that wasn't being let go of.
It was easy to get worked up about things, especially when it came down to a long day, but the transition to evening and later on the night, had really always been her favorite periods of the day. She didn't have any real special plans for the two of them, although she did believe they could ease their way into things the more that they had talked. That other side of the woman, was something she really understood was special and unseen by most.
Things wouldn't be easy, but she did want to accomplish the idea that being alone like this, was a time where they could slowly work in showing off that side. She had far too much practice being around the other Vampires close to her, to find it difficult not slipping out into being a bit less formal.
Her hand had made a move to try slipping between the hybrid's own, with her last few words.
Cryonia thought back to just a short while ago, when she had met Miki, Ayumi, and Hana. The last one had been rather energetic and enthusiastic. Their interaction had been rather brief, and limited to discussing plans on moving into the palace. Cryonia intended to get to know all of them in due time. Although right now she was getting used to moving in as well.
“I didn't want to get strong before. I didn't want to sink down to that level. Fighting is beneath me. Also, there are other reasons I don't want to fight. At the very least I will be more physically fit as a result of it.”
Cryonia listened as Rukia told the tale of a strange being named Caesar. It certainly was an encounter she was lucky to get out of alive. She frowned when Rukia was done speaking.
“This Caesar seems like a contradiction to himself. Completely broken and shattered until even he didn't know what he was. He never could pick up the pieces at all. I managed to put some of mine together again. Of course you were able to do much more with his level of power. You are whole.”
Cryonia looked down, placing one hand on her lap and gently squeezing the Vampire’s hand. She bit her lip, bracing herself for something she dreaded being brought up.
“A few hundred initially. The first recruiting wave is where I will get most of the population. From there it's up to them to produce the next generation. I intend to encourage reproduction. Now then, what is it that you wish to ask me?”
It had only been a day since making the decision to commit herself into a real relationship, but everything about it had yet to reach the moment of being surreal. The morning had been packed full of what had been a usual routine for her, but something to introduce the Elemi on what needed to be checked.
Her approach to business had changed throughout gaining different transformations, and alongside with it, her treatment on how she had talked with others. But the one thing that remained to be the same, was that her allies had some form of training they did, so they weren't weak enough to wind up dying.
Even her cousin, who had played such a large part of her life, had her own routine. For someone who was essentially a fashion queen to go and give up those hours in the day, to be like everyone else, it shouldn't have been some exception to want the same for someone who was meant to be more to her.
The reality of what they were, continued to evade hitting her into feeling surreal, but she wasn't one normally filled with doubts. To be so shaken from life, that the idea everything could have been some kind of dream, was a kind of mindset that would have had her in a mood for quite awhile.
It wasn't the kind of pleasantries expected of that kind of feeling either, but it was what she could consider to be a possibility, for those who didn't have confidence. What happiness that she had felt the night before, and waking up after, wasn't something that could have been anything but reality.
"Well you're going to have to get strong somehow. Wear heavy weights for awhile. We don't have to really fight, but I'd like to personally show you what can happen against certain people. And if you get tired of it, we could train in other ways."
She couldn't really force any rough training, so wearing weights was the closest, but efficient thing to progress, beyond also learning how many beings were likely to fight. Her alternative suggestion, although plausible, wasn't exactly serious. Like some of the things they had done the other day, leading up to something more personal, it was a good way of setting the mood, but it wasn't really the kind of help that she needed. Though the option was there.
Talking about that failure of a man, was only one part of what she had wanted to bring up. Something of a game where they explored what the both of them had been up to, around certain points of time. There was a chance that things could lead to moments that were better off not thinking about, but she was here to comfort if there was. It had been on purpose, that she left out certain details on how she truly felt, when she was in that village of illusions.
He had been there for a funeral too, as insane as he was. Something which was too soon for her to bring up to the elemental. It might have even been one of the other reasons for a preference of not fighting. As curious as she was, it wasn't anything she was also eager to have her partner just confide.
"There was a lot about him that would have made goals of mine a lot difficult. But it's no longer a worry for a lot of reasons, knowing how much I've heard he seems to trouble the gods."
He was one of the participants of the Tournament of Power as well. Someone more than likely to be unwilling, because he thought himself as better than those deities, yet there was so much sulking within that mind of his, it was ridiculous that he had those kind of opinions about himself at all.
She couldn't possibly know at the moment just what the hybrid had gone through, but it took a lot of willpower, to even admit there was still needed healing in the first place. She wasn't one to deny that of herself either, and it was that belief she was a such strong person mentally, that she was willing to go against. So many people had viewed her to be that way, and while part of being a Vampire was gaining maturity, it wasn't some mental cure.
"A lot of people seem to see me like that, but intelligence can only go so far. There's a lot of things I've put off talking about. Some of them I've gotten over because of my transformations, and others, there just hasn't been the right time."
She wouldn't call it fortunate, to have some of her worries, just washed away because of power. There were things that people really needed to feel for themselves, that was just beyond empathy. Experiences were a way of learning, and there was a lot that flew by her, more than anything.
No matter how she had chosen to run her life as well, trying to brace herself to talk about certain things, was something that could have easily been pushed off, until she was no longer capable of doing so. But these worries revolved more around herself, and her perception of others. Sometimes the things that she'd even hope to hear or be done, were the kind of things that she wanted to change or push. Control was one thing she thought a lot about.
"That council will be a big part of things here for us. People can change a lot in environments they're not used to, and over time in general, but I can't imagine too many would miss the idea that they're meant to live here willingly."
Fire and Ice Elemi, were the most suited for the planet. There were likely be a few stragglers who weren't of that nature, and would be out of place. Accommodating was supposed to be a big part about this envisioned Elemi city, but there was only so much that could be done. Like whether or not to recognize outside elements as civilians, knowing it was easier to keep track of those with the right elements, than those who weren't one.
The squeeze back she felt in her hand, was something new to her, with how flings typically didn't involve such things. She was starting to get used to it, liking the feel of this grasp, which was so much more of a presence, than the weight of some actions. There was security here for her, but this one had came with what seemed like worry. Just what was going through that head, that could make such a sudden shift in mood, after only a little talking?
"It's possible, but it'd be unfair to keep asking the others to sleep elsewhere for the night. They're settling into things as well, but I'd like it if you could move in with me. It was nice not having to sleep alone."
If anything were to feel surreal at all for her, it would have been asking of such a thing, only a day after making a vow of commitment. But she thought it was reasonable, knowing what she could provide. Things it didn't seem as if the Elemi had really seen use of, for what might have been decades.
It was a big mystery, wondering just what had happened with this former relationship, to be able to give up luxury. Something she had really only seen minimal of, unlike certain aliens. Not because she couldn't own it, but because it tended to not be practical investing in, due to to enemies.
Confidence was something really valuable, but held equivalence to being able to set and read the mood of things. It was a chance that she took, going in for a kiss, while hoping her words would ease whatever worries the woman might have been thinking of. There was a lot of it last night. Ones which really showed how softly something like the lips could feel, and others which really presented different kinds of comfort. What it meant to have someone.
It was meant to be a momentary pause, rather than really tossing away what they had been doing. Although when it came to more personal things, it was just easy to break away from just words, knowing how much action could have really made a lot of things better. But she had her restraints.
"There's a bit more I'd like to bring up besides Caesar. You can consider it a bit of a game, leading up to where we are now."
There was a lot that had happened over the course of several months, and while everything didn't always turn out well, she'd like to consider herself as fortunate to have found herself being apart of those things. It opened up opportunities that normally would have otherwise been difficult.
"A little while after meeting Caesar, I had run into a Demon walking around, and curious about our power. There was some fighting involved, but ultimately, I had given it only a warning to stay away from West City. Some weeks later taking a trip to East City, I made the promise of escorting a Majin and her family, only to make a detour after finding that someone was in the office of Earth's previous queen.
While she looked human enough, it turned out to be a Magi, taking the role for herself, as part of the former queen's dying wish. She had no guards with her, and after some talking with her, I had already settled on the idea that she lacked the proper qualifications, hearing her refusal to work with Capsule Corp to repair destroyed infrastructure. But an attack on the city had stopped any more arguing between us, after coming to a deal with her on some things."
There was a lot more to this situation, that she had left out, but the purpose wasn't going into detail. She wanted to give only a summary. She could have easily answered any loose ends however, but the gist of it was there to hear, and one after another, it led to several different measures being taken.
"I winded up leaving with the promise that she'd stay a certain distance away from myself and allies, which basically kept her from entering West City, even if she was the queen. There was a lot that could have been argued for that right, if she pushed otherwise, but I got what I wanted, and went to the house of the Majin who acted as a witness. The queen wanted assistance against the threats of what seemed to be Demons, but this was practically a test for her to prove herself, without any guards. Escorting the Majin's family was easy, but the pleasant thing was finding the Demon I warned.
I managed to essentially talk to one of the Demons with this one, forming a deal between them, and allowing just about all the 'evil' presences to live. It's easy to judge them for their inherent nature, but one of them had worked at Capsule Corp for awhile, and managed to settle in just fine. East City was essentially left in ruins because of the Demons, but the place was mostly abandoned at the time due to events I wasn't apart of, due to being on Namek."
She and Natsumi, in different times and situations, had already addressed the controversy of working with the Demons, so that wasn't something she was worried about bringing up. The way she spoke was assured and too aware to really be some kind of mistake. though it wasn't exactly comfort either.
Really, the thing that made what she wanted to be a back and forth, was bringing forth just what had happened to her, and eventually led to this kind of power. There was really no bloodshed as of yet, but that was just the very thing about having things lead and roughly be fortunate for her.
"I've actually changed a lot of my beliefs about the queen since then. A lot of it has to do with coming into this success here, but there was just a lot about not owning a planet, that brought a lot of limitations. No matter what fault the new Earth Queen had, I'm willing to work with her in the future, and just let her see the results of her own planning. There wasn't too many places to go around this timeframe. I can't imagine that council of yours would have been too preoccupied with Earth either."
It was a transition to hear from her partner, and what she could remember had happened around this time herself. She tried to be as careful as she really could have with the details she gave out, not knowing what happened in this former relationship, and whether or not certain words brought back anything.
There was only so much that intimate comfort could really give as well, and while it was easy for her to think that others hadn't struggled like her, she knew there was a chance it could have been the complete opposite. The hybrid was in a well off position, but opportunity was what kept things fortunate.
"The biggest thing that happened since that time, had been under my control. West City winded up being the last place standing, and with the new queen settling in with some refugees, there were people debating whether or not to join a proper civilization. The Demons were ambitious, and had their own approaches, but I was the one who held power. Possibly only a bit more than their queen, than the gap that I had created between us now.
Everyone I cared about, and employees who could convince their family and friends, had left the planet off to here days before the Demons had decided to attack West City. They hadn't succeeded, since Earth had blew up due to certain factors, but it wasn't a loss for me. I respect the opportunities that working with them has provided, but there's no cheering for their actions. The Demon Queen showing up, and being unaware I was working with the Demons, but also being misinformed about the culture of Vampires, played a big role in their failure. The crazy thing is that drinking her blood was enough to stir her wrath. She wasn't an unattractive woman, but hearing that did ruin my perception of her. I know Natsumi had talked to you around this time, and she did tell me what she thought she had seen from you."
The time between the West City invasion and the ritual the night before, was relatively shorter than what some might have realized. The others had already been on this planet and were settling in, three days before the invasion, and it had taken her and those remaining, to get there after it was over.
What had been discussed between her ally and the Elemi, even now, she wondered if the other woman could have really accepted these kind of things. There was just so much she saw, that could have been reminders of just how this former relationship had left, and it really felt that she was the one to worry.
She had so much control over the situation though, than all the other events that had led up to the invasion, and with everything that was going on now, she knew she could find success as well. Control was so very much the thing she always wanted to have, but was so easy to lack because of others.
"I could have said so much more, went into certain details, but it wasn't really meant to be anything other than time shared between us. There's a lot about myself, my perception, my actions, that so many just can't bear. You don't have to really agree with any of them, and I don't expect for you to. All I'd like, and could really ask of you, is if you could stick by me in ways the others just can't. There might not be much of anything yet to this relationship, but you'll come to see how much I'm trying for you."
Her tone had broken down away from painting herself away from how assured she had been, going on about those other events in her life. There was still a bit of a 'proper' touch to her way of speaking, but each word that she spoke of, sounded pleading, wanting to hear some kind of assurance.
Intelligence could help out a lot in life, but it didn't help much in the slightest, in knowing just how those she was unfamiliar with, could really act. It took time to get to know a person, and she only saw glimpses of just who the Elemi really was as a person. What she could have been thinking.
Her hands had moved down to where the other woman's waist was, wanting to hold her body more and more, until that was what it had came down to. She kept a lot of things to herself, but this was one of the things that she wanted to know the most. To be comforted of, and not have any doubts.
This was a whole planet, and she couldn't rule it by herself, no matter how many people believed she could.
Cryonia realized that she had a long way to go if she was to get stronger. She was going to actually put effort into training and becoming more powerful. She wasn’t that fond of adopting the typical fire Elemi way of life, but if that's what it took to get stronger then so be it. A faint little smile crossed her face.
“If that is what will help me get stronger then I shall do it. Although, I will say that even if I wasn't trying to get more power, I would dive into the alternate training regardless. It provides other… benefits.”
They were both being polite and descrete about how they were wording it. But it qas fairly obvious what they were discussing. Cryonia listened as Rukia talked about this Caesar individual. He seemed like he was a trouble to deal with, even for beings that Rukia called gods. But he seemed like a non factor at this point.
“Once we have the council fully established we’ll be able to set the tone and the rules. It is important to establish that we are a civilized society.”
Cryonia agreed with Rukia about the living situation. It was a big living space , so they could get privacy until a better solution was thought up of. Cryonia listened to everything that Rukia had been through. She had gone through quite a few ordeals.
“This Queen will be someone we have to negotiate with, if she is alive still. I will stay by your side through everything you do. And in ways that only I can provide.”
Cryonia wrapped her arms around Rumia in retuen, embracing the vampire. They were going to do quite a bit together. And some of it was going to be very enjoyable.
