Pride is Power (Beat)

"...Dammit, again!"

Beat was currently in the advanced gravity chamber of his house, His desire to master his latest form still have yet faded. The power is massive, but the anger that resulted from that is also massive. In that state, his mind is muddled so much that he felt like he slipped in mental of a beast. It's so overpowering, like it wanted him to destroy more and more. But at the very least, he could control the beast well enough for him to depower before the damage got worsened. Still... as expected, everytime he powered down, there's always a recoil. He would cough blood again and again, his internal organ burdened so much from the sudden expansion. If it keeps like this, he won't be any asset against the demon queen. Is it because he's far stronger than how he should be? Or is it something else? At any rate, the young saiyan halfling's scouter beeped.

"...Ah, right, it's time for me to patrol, huh..."

There's not much happening lately. That and because currently Alliance members on the base is slightly on the fewer side due to latest planet restoration and revival of some beloved family members. It leads to situation where some people asking for a break. Of course now that it's time of peace, it's unlikely that war happened again, otherwise Whis might be on their case on that. Well, peace is good and all, but this leads to situation where Beat is left without any sort of ship as it's used by his cousins and his aunt to return back home. Thanks to that, Van Eltia crew are currently not in operating capacity. The young saiyan halfling immediately suppressed his power down to around 1.000 instead of its usual monstrous 318.000. He's getting too strong at too fast of a time. Beat isn't sure that this is good or not, but at the very least he is still alive. It might be time for him to ask the Guru if he could hunt the Dragon Ball and allowed to use it... But from the health of the Namekian man, he doubted that he would be allowed a pass to get it.

...But at this moment, his train of thoughts interrupted when he read an unfamiliar ki signature. Hmm... ah, a soldier from the SGK huh... What's that one doing so far over here? Oh well....

Hmmm? The source is approaching... that's curious. He thought normally those people just type to ignore those who are weaker than them. He guess that's not really the case with how this person is approaching him fast. Beat just awaited for them to come to him instead going there directly. When he saw the person, he felt a bit strange.. a man at his twenties? Probably more if it's full saiyan. He's not a full himself so he have no idea. Apparently there are these saiyans who could understand whether another saiyans are 'old' or not just with a glance, but he never been around any saiyans but his father and his aunt, and they're certainly not really young, but not enough for their looks to decline just yet.

Beat is currently wearing the Remnant Alliance armor, one that he asked Zeno to be custom made for himself. The top is no different than a regular Remnant Alliance's standard issued armor, being crimson chestplate over black saiyan vest and gold stomach armor. The style is sleeveless, because the youth seem to prefer it that way. His boots meanwhile are the long boots type that adorned with red jewels on the knee part. His chosen piece of fabric is only a short pants saiyan spandex, not really caring that much about other piece of clothing articles.

"Can I help you?" Beat asked.

It doesn't add up? Well, that's common. Perhaps due to some growth lately, the Saiyans population often averaging at around 4000 in strength... he guess that's what caused the discrepancy. Either that or Beat, while 12 years old, looked more muscular than a kid of his age, even compared to a full saiyan. Still, Beat wondering how should he go with this. The man said that he's just looking for a spar... but spar usually between people of equal power... and... from his stance, sadly he's seem not quite developed in it.

"...Hmmm, I see, you want a spar? Well then... I guess I'll comply. Let's set the rules beforehand..." Beat first released more of his suppressed ki, accurately rising it up to 4000 before stopping on the dot. He hopes that it's enough to tell the man that he's suppressing his own power.

"Alright, there's the rule. First, no killing, alright? Our faction is in cold peace, and I'd like to keep it that way, or even better. Two..."

...He kind of already dreading this, mainly because he have no idea how the other guy will take it. "...It'll be unfair if I gone all out, so I'll be just using one arm. Also, this is because I don't wear any limiter as usual." Beat offered his dominant arm, his left one. Considering the other party is untrained in the martial arts... he decided to give this handicap. "...third... if you managed to make me serious no matter how small, you win."

He wondered if the guy would find this outrageous. He might be riled the guy already before the spar even started. "...It's not that I'm looking down at you. It's a self imposed rule I put on myself. Because if not I think it won't be a spar and it would end up in something completely different. And I don't want that. If you're fine with these rules, we can spar."

"I know your superiors," Beat would say. "I had honor of fighting alongside them once. I only talked to one personally though, the rest... well, it was a battle I guess I don't have the luxury to talk with them while trying to defend my own life and end the fight as quickly as possible. If you had the chance to be allowed to talk with one of the stronger one there named Miso, do tell him 'Beat says hi... and next time when I'm stronger, let's have a lil spar'."

Looks like he's not offended, Beat likes his self control and coolheadness, or at least at this point. "Oh right, that's pretty rude of me too. My name's Beat... I'm..." ...he almost said a recruit, but that's not exactly right. "...I'm a member of Remnant Alliance, but I guess that's already obvious. We're mercenaries, so we don't have any rank to give, or at least not one in militaristic sense, unlike you. But I guess I'm something to like... uh... Probably I'd say I'm something along line of a captain, but then again maybe I overestimated myself. Who knows. I'm definitely a captain of a ship though."

Beat inhaled. His ki stayed stagnant. due to the oath of just using one arm, Beat put his weaker arm behind his back, while the dominant arm extended forward in what looks like a striking stance. "Show me what you got, Raijin... Although it's ironic considering..." crackles of lightning appeared on his arm. The youngster smirked. "...I'm a lightning user myself."

Beat however found himself to be the receiving end of the opening act. He quickly dodged the attack, just enough for it to pass harmlessly to his side, then countered with his palm strike.

Explanation:
In battle, you're given 2 actions. One is called free actions where you can use to either melee attack, block or dodge and stamina action. Stamina action are using your OTs, VTs, and STs. You can choose to not do a stamina action and instead do two free actions to restore stamina when your stamina is under your maximum stamina. Even if OT-1 doesn't use stamina, it's still counted as stamina action if you use it, so you won't heal anything!

A new character starts with 3 stamina, but it can go up to 5 stamina. Stamina addition are gained by mastering martial arts and getting to 300k PL. The benefit of more stamina is better dodging and blocking modifier. Of course it makes it easier for you to toss more techniques. However, do note that the lower your stamina is, the easier you are to get knocked out, so be careful!

In battle, there are ATK PL and DEF PL. ATK PL and DEF PL are decided by your ATK Modifier and DEF Modifier. For saiyan transformations, ATK and DEF PLs are usually the one at the same, unless you use bulking, which would increase your ATK PL by 2x and reducing your DEF PL by 3x. Speed bulking did it in reverse, -3x/+2x to ATK and DEF PL.

As your current stamina is 3/3, your blocking is equal to your Melee Finesse, which is 5% of your DEF PL. Blocking reduce damage. If your blocking PL is higher than your opponent, you cancel their dished out damage!
Meanwhile at 3/3 your dodging is equal to your Melee Finesse + 5%, which make it 10% of your DEF PL. Unlike blocking, if the value of the speed isn't high enough, you cannot dodge the attack!
On that topic, normal attack is always equal to your melee finesse.

So he choose to dodge instead of clashing. Not really a good decision in Beat's mind. "You're wasting stamina if you dodge such weak attack, soldier!" Beat would chide, Did his master's personality rubbed on him? Did he seriously acted like drill sergeant in front of a new recruit? Well, whatever, the heat of the battle made Beat slightly forgot that they're in different faction. Perhaps it's because he wish to see the guy improve more. Hopefully he would.  "Attack like that shouldn't even get dodged if you wish to win! At times to win you need to take damage!" and with this, the moment Raijin attacked, Beat would let the attack hit him on the shoulder. It's smarting, but... Before the impact really hit, he would execute an attack of his own, a roundhouse kick to Raijin's chest, initiating a cross counter.

"Whew... It might not be something that you can do at the moment though. When you're stronger you should definitely ask your superior... owowowow..." he rubbed his smarting back. "At any rate, let's see how you fare when facing a bit stronger attack, eh?"

Beat's arm crackled with electricity. He prefer to shoot his ki blasts with one hand, so with the current way he holds himself back, it's actually does not affect its performance the slightest. "...Ready... Voltic Burst!"

Beat shoot out concentrated ki blast that seem to be stronger than his previous punch!

Explanation:
Benefits of having school includes the ability to do melee clash, or otherwise known as Cross Counter, which learned at BG tier. This means you takes the opponent attack, but you deals damage to them based on your Melee PL! Cross counter might not do much, but it's quite good to use against enemies with faster speed than you... that is, if you want to damage them.

Beam clash is initiated when two stamina techniques collides. The one with the higher firepower obviously win! During beam clashing you can pour stamina in to increase charge of your launched technique by equal amount of stamina spent! Ie: 1 extra stamina poured means 1 extra charge, 2 for 2 extra charge and so on. Be careful to not burn all your stamina immediately!

Charging meanwhile is an action where you charges your stamina attacks. It goes multiplication of it, which means uncharged OT-1 is 25%, 1 turn charged OT-1 is 50%, with maximum of three turns charging! When charging, you unable to restore stamina, but in turn your attack will get stronger if it is uninterrupted by the opponent. Interruption is an action where if you're hit by attack bigger than your melee finesse, you would lose your charge, but did not lose your stamina. Also, take note of your opponent technique's speed PL compared to your own technique's speed PL.
In a situation where:
Beat charging OT-2 (50%), his technique speed would be 2000 PL. Unless Raijin hit him with something higher than 2000 PL, it'll be treated as if Raijin's technique unable to interrupt Beat's charge properly, so it gets to 4000 PL next turn, where Beat can instead shot this 4000 PL shot to clash with Raijin's attack!
If somehow Raijin launched OT-3 (75% PL), his technique speed would be sufficiently faster than Beat's charge, thus forcing him to either drop it and dodge, or clash!

Another way to prevent a technique charging from being interrupted is either half charging or hold charge.
