He'd finally made it as he heaved himself up and over the ledge of the top true peek of the great tower. He'd not expected it would have taken this many days to actually traverse the tower when he first set off after hearing the tales from the Karinga tribe now quite far behind him, Or below one might say. The tiles of almost pearl white shined from the sun glistening off their surface. But that beauty was eclipsed by the lovely white and golden palace based at the center of the large platform. Saibacus lost again in wonder ever so briefly wondering how such a large construct was built or even more so how it remained structurally sound.
The beautiful sight while amazing did lose some small luster as he approached and realized much of the planets and surrounding garden to this wondrous palace had fallen into neglect. Some plants losing their color and other patches of plant life fully had perished. Those that remained clinging on only thanks to what rain had kept them thriving. He'd wondered and quickly guessed or at least speculated this place just like the construct bellow may have been abandoned as well. The story of the heroes he'd heard tale of and this place's importance made him wonder what could have happened for it to be like this? Maybe it had been a long time before anyone from the tribe had actually seen this place with their own eyes. Perhaps history had taken a harsh tole here as it sometimes did to legends and myths left unchecked.
He couldn't help but feel some of his excitement and joy fade as he entered this hollowed place. It carried a strange feeling to it as he entered. Dark shadows greeting him as he passed inside its walls. He took the time to search for a flint and some oil for lanterns to which he quickly lit up the main rooms to get a better look at the place he'd come so far to see. Curious what if any fruits his hardships would bare this day. He explored its walls and halls but didn't find much of interest at first. The rooms while not in bad shape were lightly filthy from dust and lack of use. The kitchen had a light stock though of grain and rice as well as a few other assortments of food that still held some use in them. Even if some of it was a bit old it wasn't anything his strong saiba stomach couldn't handle. At least if he was up here for awhile he'd have food and a nice place to sleep. So worry of supplies wasn't much of a problem. He tossed his bag and weapons that were tied to it on one of the beds as he continued exploring.
Before he left the more common rooms he'd found some things of interest though. Strange sets of armor that seemed suited for a woman. As well as blades and clothing that suggested more then one person may have called this place at home at once time. His reasoning being there were both what he saw at least as both men and female clothing. He reorganized the rooms lightly putting the armor back on its stands and in its proper place. But beyond personal effects of seemingly long absent dwellers. There wasn't much in the personal bed rooms.
He did after some exploration come across several sights he wasn't quite sure what to make of. At one point finding a strange room in the basement of this construct that seemed to house some sorta of... clock? or machine? Whatever it was he had no idea what it could be or how such a contraption worked or what it was even used for. He chose to leave such things alone for the time. Another room that seemed of importance was a random door that no matter how hard he tried seemed locked even though their didn't really appear to be any locking mechanism. He quickly abandoned the effort thinking it was simply a room that had fallen in disrepair from no one being around for so long.
He did find a library and a few training rooms as well to which he quickly reorganized them lightly cleaning as well to get a idea what all they housed. He'd taken some time and gathered a few books and artifacts that had garnered some attention of note and taken them back towards the common rooms. Preparing some of the food and setting it to a slow boil as he went to study trying to find out some idea of this place or what had happened to the people he'd thought he'd have found up here.
It wasn't much but at least the old books would give him something to do. He did find stories of heroes of the past and some history about this planet which caught his eye. One particular old tome caught his fancy more then the rest though. It had a dialect he couldn't comprehend and at times seemed to shift languages from the word this planet read to namekian and other times a kind of language he couldn't understand at all. It spoke of creation or beings that created life and others that destroyed. Something of balance and the higher powers that watch over them all. The more he read the more he became confused and struggled to comprehend any of what he'd been reading. It seemed to be something to do with faith or the gods of this world perhaps. But he'd never heard of it this anywhere else on his travels. An given what this place was it caught his interest more perhaps then it would have if found anywhere else. The mystic nature and strange feeling of this place had caught his attention thoroughly.
He sided lightly as the smell of food cooking over the stove finally caught his attention and drew his attention briefly away from his book and studies. He'd rise from his seat and go to turn off the flames and allow the food to cool. These books were gonna have to be his friends for awhile he thought to himself lightly deflated at how this had all turned out. He'd have to train his flying skills before he'd be able to get down safely anyway. All he knew was he had no plans on climbing all the way back down. So until then he'd return to training and study more on what wisdom these walls had within them. Maybe something would prove helpful to him in the long run.
