The full moon was hanging brightly in the night sky of planet Natto. Komatsu found himself basking in the moonlight deep inside the desert with only one thought in mind; he needed to learn to control his great ape form.
It would be difficult; Komatsu was exhausted both mentally and physically, never having slept a full night since he was brought back to life. He couldn’t stop; he couldn’t take a break… not yet. His brother was finally paying attention to him, finally recognizing him as a warrior… hell even his uncle seemed to be rooting for him.
The boy took in a deep breath before exhaling slowly. He hadn’t stopped, and he wouldn’t. This was just one more task he had to accomplish to get closer to his new mission. Komatsu finally glanced up to the full moon and couldn’t help but admire how beautiful. It was huge this night, at least twice the size as it normally was meaning the planet had pulled it in closer to it’s orbit this evening.
It didn’t take long for his transformation to start. He could feel his body pulsing as his power level began to sky rocket. It was an exhilarating feeling that caused the young saiyan to smirk widely and even laugh as pure power was coursing through his body!
Soon, his body would become covered in dark fur, his body would start doubling in size to compensate for the quickly rising power within him. His mouth began to stretch out and shift into a long furred snout, large fangs visible from underneath his lips. His eyes shone a bright red, signaling the end of his transformation.
“ROAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR”
Komatsu let out a powerful roar as both his size and power sky rocketed until it finally reached it’s maximum!
While the boy was no longer conscious of himself he felt amazing! A mighty beast once completely wiped out of existence was here once more! He was totally invincible! Nothing could beat him if the Great Ape could defy death!
A powerful red beam of energy escaped the Great Ape’s mouth, aimed towards the sky. His arms raised high above his head as if trying to display his dominance over no one. Komatsu growled again as he suddenly began to run from his position on all fours, heading deeper into the desert than he originally was. Not knowing where he was going, the great ape sought a challenge. If a mighty super saiyan couldn’t finish him off, then nothing could! He would dominate the whole planet!
The great ape suddenly skid to a stop though as he managed to reach some sort of hidden Oasis deep in the desert. He looked around as if looking for anyone that might be nearby before approaching it with a low growl. He would look deeply into the pool of water, instantly seeing his reflection and growing angry. He slammed his furry fist into the water, growling as it splashed up onto him. He shook his massive body to get rid of the water before looking into the water again to see if the great ape he had seen was still there.
While his reflection was that of a great ape, his mind only saw the reflection of his base form. The small saiyan boy of 14. The great ape made a sound of confusion as he lowered his snout closer to the water to get a closer look. Tilting his way left, then right and watching the form of Komatsu doing the same.
Insulted by the imitation the great ape reared his head back and let out another loud roar as he began to run away from the small Oasis.
“I have a confirmation on his location… looks like someone decided to come out for a midnight stroll. You know the drill boys tranq him and collar him.”
Kyuri stated as her eyes processed the data that was tracking those saiyans that would transform into their great ape transformations. She had set up a squadron of hybrids and members of the alliance that couldn’t transform under the moon to ensure that those who could didn’t endanger anyone.
Her internal scouter had locked onto Komatsu’s power level, and she couldn’t help but dread finding out who it was. There were very few people on this planet who could reach a power level that high when transformed… there was the two captains, and there was Miso. Judging by the erratic pattern this ape was displaying, it definitely wasn’t Miso.
The squad through quickly through the skies of Planet Natto, easily spotting the massive ape from miles away. Kyuri instantly recognized him as his shape came into view… the long hair, the style of armor, and most of all the sound of pure rage in his roar.
“Change of plans, give me the collar, and move onto the next one.”
She instructed, stopping her squad and forcefully taking the large collar from the green brenchian hybrid.
“But, Ms Kyuri there’s no way you can handle a power level that high alone.”
The green hybrid stated with concern in her voice.
“I don’t have a choice. That’s my grandson…he’s proving to be exactly like his mother, he’s going to need someone to snap him out of it. Go on, keep your scouters on my channel, I’ll tell you when I’ve got him under control.”
She instructed the squad, never looking back towards them and instead just took off towards Komatsu.
As she approached, she watched the mighty ape fire off another powerful crimson blast of energy. Kyuri smiled with the corner of her mouth as she approached as close as she dared.
“Komatsu!”
She cried out, causing the great to stop with a huff and spin around.
There was Kyuri, flying at eye level holding what looked like a large round ring. He didn’t know why, but he stopped moving as he looked at her. Every heavy breath he took sounded like a low growl as he hesitated.
“Koma, it’s me. You can hear me can’t you? You have to stop running around and calm down. There are teams out there putting down Great Apes. I don’t want to have to do that.”
Kyuri stated as she tossed the ring down onto the ground. It collided with the sand below almost silently.
“GRRRRRRRRRR”
The great ape continued to growl. Kyuri brought her hands up in front of her and carefully flew closer to Komatsu. She would soon gently place her hands on the end of his snout and looked up into his giant red eyes in hopes of calming him down.
It didn’t work. Komatsu growled lowly as he snapped forward in an attempt to eat Kyuri whole.
“Shit!”
Kyuri cried out angrily as the bottom of her boots suddenly jetted out flames as she propelled herself away from him at an amazing speed.
“HAHAHAHAHAHAHA RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWRRRRRRRRRRR”
The ape gloated as he danced from one foot to the next, arms up in the air as he released yet another blast of energy as if he was declaring victory.
“Brat…”
Kyuri said as she raised an eyebrow at the great ape’s laugh. Uncontrolled ape’s didn’t laugh, and she knew that very well. He was slowly taking control, and somehow finding amusement in this.
Komatsu approached the tiny form of his grandmother with a smirk plastered on his giant lips. For a moment, it looked like he might snap at her again, but as he approached he just shoved his big nose against her, pushing her backwards roughly.
“What the hell are you doing kid…”
She asked as she found her smooshed against his nose. Was he playing with her? This was extremely unlike an ape and it caught her completely off guard. She climbed up his nose to rest on the edge of his snout, sitting down there with her legs crossed as she looked Komatsu in the eyes.
“Alright, you’ve got sense enough to play. How about this one; Komatsu, you take control of your own damn brain right this second. You do not want to make your poor old grandmother have to fight you!”
Kyuri yelled at Komatsu, raising a finger at him as if she was scolding him.
Komatsu raised an eyebrow as he huffed, looking at his grandmother. She was being absolutely no fun, and so Komatsu reached a massive hand up to grab at Kyuri. However, for an old lady she moved remarkably fast as she sped up Komatsu’s snout, between his eyes to rest on top of his moppish head.
Komatsu swatted down on his own head to try and squash Kyuri, but had no way of knowing if he succeeded. He looked at his hands to see if there were any blood stains but there was nothing. He started to growl angrily again as he began to run once more, this time back towards the Soy capital.
Kyuri climbed down towards Komatsu’s ear with a plan in mind. She held onto his ear, staying extremely close as she started to hum, yes hum. She was trying to lul a great ape.
It was a song she used to sing to her daughter when she was younger. When Tomoroko felt lost or confused, or when she just needed to know that her mother was there for her, Kyuri would hum this song ever since she was a baby. She had caught Tomo humming this same song to her own children on more than one occasion, and it wasn’t just to Komatsu.
At the sound of the tune, Komatsu froze in place once more. His body began to tremble as if he caught a sudden chill. He let a low growl escape his lips as he listened to the song being sung to him
His mind was suddenly filled with memories of his childhood… the quiet little saiyan who didn’t like to fight. The son of the overseer who was constantly picked on for being weak, for being quiet. The countless nights he had snuck into his parents room because Nasu was picking on him or because he was scared.
The boy Komatsu saw in his mind seemed so far away… it seemed a memory that wasn’t his own, but it really was him, wasn’t it?
For about 5 minutes, Kyuri stayed by his ear, humming her tune and smiling as she noted that it was working.
Komatsu’s low growls would grow quiet, instead being replaced by heavy breathing as the great ape straightened up, moving his head away from Kyuri and looking around. He would look back down to Kyuri, and couldn’t help the growl that escaped his lips.
“Thank you… don’t tell Nasu…”
The great ape would grumble as his body relaxed slightly and Komatsu sat down in the sand. Kyuri would land on his snout once more and pat the fur gently.
“Not a peep. I know he can be a pain the ass, Komatsu but he does care about you. He’s your brother, you can’t be afraid to show weakness every now and then.”
She said in an attempt to get him to warm up to Nasu slightly. It was easy to see the tension between the two, and she had no idea what to do to make it better.
Komatsu just shook his head at the comment, careful not to toss her off of his snout.
“Your wrong, I can’t around him. Not yet.”
He said as he would push himself back up and start walking back towards home. He could at least drop off Kyuri at home and tough it out until dawn.
He’d drop Kyuri off at home and would walk away from the house once more, running back towards the desert in which she had found him. Like hell he was going to be able to sleep in his great ape form. So instead, Komatsu chose to train himself in this form. He would learn how to keep his rage under control when in the great ape form, and would even practice using his own techniques like this as well.
It was safe to say the young saiyan would be tired for his training with Nasu in the morning.
