’Why not Namek? The rush of destroying a planet was nice to have experienced again, but it was like coming down off of a sugar high, satisfying at first but the sensation faded all too quickly for it to be of any sufficient merit. Unless one were to go on an extinction bender then the outcome was profoundly disappointing. A bit like the response his question courted. {color=purple]’Guys I’m talking to… Guys?’[/color] Twisting around in his seat (the comfy one in front of the controls with a proper neck support and everything, which he had quickly commandeered upon their return, annoyingly necessitating that he actually FLY the ship) he surveyed the ship’s interior to find that he was alone. Either he’d not noticed them leaving or they’d deliberately snuck away, either way someone was being excessively rude.
He’d been spitballing likely looking planets to survey in Cervez’ and his ongoing quest to trim the fat of the universe but none of them had really jumped out at him immediately. This one though looked pretty barren, well not barren exactly but if there was intelligent life there it sure was making a point of not really looking as though it were. It wouldn’t hurt to check in on. Maybe they were a rustic, pastoral kind of people, the kind of people that were just extra grateful for not smashing their home in to tiny pieces and less likely to get any stupid ideas involving assassinations and whatnot.
He could see it now that they’d be generous, gregarious… squishy.
Well it might not have been his ship but for the moment at least it appeared to be his call. Slumping back into his seat he began maneuvering the ship about and laid in a course to take them straight there. If Cervez or Samael or that… thing… lady… creature they had picked up had anything to say about it then they should’ve known better than to be sleeping when he was feeling impetuous. Even if it was 04:32 ship’s time.

It seemed almost as though it were Heizen’s mission in life to surprise the purple furred godling, honestly things like this seemed to be happening more and more these days but for once he would really, REALLY like it to not be Demons… or Saiyans… or Demon Saiyans. Earth really had one hell of an extra-planetary integration problem, Hell in this case being the operative word.
To Heizen’s words of praise he offered a slight but sincere bow, even as he grew increasingly more concerned at the sheer magnitude of the Demon’s mounting energy attack. It sure was something to behold, not to put too fine a point on his assessment but Sinthe never once imagined that Heizen had it in him. Indeed it seemed that this might be something… something else. He’d felt a not dissimilar sensation before when he had fought against the Hybrid Suusao, but had not really given it all that much thought. Ditto for Duvainel. Seriously, why always Demons? The sudden illumination of Heizen’s attack was dimmed by its change in composition and Sinthe snarled as it approached, though with their mutual line of sight broken Heizen would probably only be able to imagine his displeasure. How surprised he would be then when it seemed as though his gambit had paid dividends, the dense energy he had harnessed clearing to reveal nothing at all, no sign of Sinthe the Destroyer, or was it now to be Sinthe the Destroyed?
’I’ve no particular complaints about that last attack…’ Behind! Now having reappeared Sinthe stood back to back with the Jackal Demon, his eyes shut as he mulled over the sum worth of their battle. ’But it IS a shame, Heizen.’ It seemed that he was, for the moment, quite satisfied. In this case he might have chosen simply to dispense with his sparring partner once he had extracted all possible vigor and feats of strength from them. With this one however and a scant few others besides he had an intuitive feeling that Heizen could, given ample time and perhaps a gentle nudge in the right direction, reach a much higher place than that which he currently occupied. On that day he would still be only a Demon, but hopefully a Demon worth fighting.
For now though there was some cleaning up needed doing and only Sinthe here to do it. With not even enough regard now for his opponent to turn and face him, he angled his palm round his own body, channeling his now much enlarged ki into a devastating point blank torrent of energy which would sweep across Heizen and likely signal the final end of their encounter… for now anyway.
He held back, of course he held back, had he not done so then he’d likely never get to fight this exceptional person again, or if he did it would likely be when they were both dead at last (something he wasn’t expecting for himself any time soon) and then it wouldn’t matter anymore anyway. ’I, unfortunately cannot say anything quite so complimentary. It is clear however that you have yet to even approach the height of your power, that the ceiling of your potentials lies far, far above what has been realized here today.’ It was the best he could say about many people on this world, that did nothing though to cheapen the accolade in his mind. Heizen had proved himself and that was the lesson he ought to take away… and he had given his opponent a fair few things to ponder on as well. Again. Heizen had withstood his attack again. Granted the impact was somewhat blunted by a brief clash with Heizen’s attack, but even so his injuries while minor were beginning to pile up. There really was something about this Demon in particular he had decided. Even though he could not draw wider conclusions from this single encounter between his techniques, his poise, his tenacity and physical endurance were to be admired though as he’d done so before Sinthe would keep quiet any overt praise that he had for his opponent.
’Very well,’ he replied, acknowledging Heizen’s ultimatum without a hint of the prior smarm in his voice. It seemed that he was about ready to properly honour his opponent and if Heizen were about ready to draw the trump card from his bag of tricks then he had just the way to do it. Considering the mounting power which he felt in the Demon’s gathering energy it might be the wisest course of action to boot. ’I’m afraid you’ve already seen mine.’ Lifting one hand he pointed a finger-pistol in the Demon’s direction, cocking his arm back as if from recoil to illustrate the technique he meant. He didn’t expect that someone like Heizen would flinch at this, but he wouldn’t blame him. As they said, once bitten.
’Well anyway, I suppose if it’s you I can show a little of what I’m like when I get serious.’ The Anubian dragged his hands back over his head as he spoke, smoothing down his ears after the manner of slicking one’s hair back, but when he cast his eyes on Heizen again all the joviality seemed to have gone out of him. Though his eyes held no contempt there was neither a flicker of warmth or civility in them, if the sudden spike in his ki were not enough to signal that he was about ready to start playing for keeps then the change in his manner would drive the point home. Demons it seemed had some rather interesting techniques, though equally it might be that Heizen was the exception which proved the rule of their more usual mundanity and honestly the more that they fought the more Sinthe was beginning to believe this the case. It wasn’t so much that he was unlike any other Demon Sinthe had ever met, he now realized, more that he was a perfect storm of their more appealing qualities. If he weren’t ever so slightly offended by the mere fact of the Jackal Demon’s appearance then he might be inclined to go easy on him.
The Demon would find presently that he was not so inclined.
With not very much time to spare his options were limited, it was not more than a split second before the area around him was exploding, so he figured that doing likewise would be the way to go. Drifting backwards as though he were going to make a run for it, he bought himself another moment or so in order to gather his ki, drawing his arms and legs in towards the centre of his body before throwing them out along with his gathered power. He pushed onwards, outwards as he felt the clash with Heizen’s own ki, drawing upon the dregs of his power, such as it was to push the blast down, push it back and further to push his own raging energy on toward Heizen himself.
’Not enough, Heizen!’ He called out to his opponent above the din of their individual attacks. ’Something of this caliber… it’s not nearly enough to reach me now!’ Heizen probably knew well enough that there was little to no chance that he could overcome going in, even if he were not able to intuit that Sinthe had still managed to hold back quite a bit of his power. He’d strived to keep in step though so it was only right that now the Anubian responded with a greater measure of force. Even if he were to struggle and not overcome, Heizen seemed to him the sort of fighter that would enjoy exhausting his power and techniques against a worthy foe. If he were able, Sinthe would like to drag every last one out of him, for him it was only a question of how much he would need to power up in order to do so.WC: 401 [OT-2] Super Explosive Wave The user expels ki from their entire body in order to throw back any enemies in their vicinity. Looking down on Duvainel as she had apparently burned herself out, Sinthe didn’t quite know what to think. It stood to reason that if a mortal body were to draw on two opposite powers it would suffer damage, but that wasn’t it, it wasn’t the mechanics of the situation that concerned him at all. No, rather there was something nostalgic about this predicament that they found themselves in which he couldn’t quite fathom. Duvainel had mentioned something similar but it was only now that he got a much more palpable sense of it. Was it possible then that this Hybrid girl was the reincarnation of someone he’d known? It was indeed possible, but whoever they were they did not feel overly familiar, it were as though the feeling was only something small or that it was far removed from him but it was there. An implicit sense of déjà vu to use the vernacular of the day.
Whatever it was the feeling faded away almost completely as Duvainel’s ki exploded outwards again, doubling and doubling again this time, growing ever higher and higher until… until…
Without even finishing that thought Sinthe thrust his finger down at the oncoming assailant, discharging the full brunt of his attack into her but it seemed to no avail as she just kept on coming at him, not just that she was already on him! Gritting his teeth he moved backwards backwards trying to weave around the side of one attack only to be caught by another. With a sickening hiss Duvainel’s energy cut into his flesh, singing a mark right across his body that was soon to become only one of many, but more than that the energy made something inside of him tense and knot up like all of a sudden he couldn’t quite reach his own.
Whatever it was, he knew that it wasn’t natural. Duvainel it seemed might not have been completely honest with him.
Try as he might there was little enough he could do to dodge or deflect each singing strike after the other and as another carved into him his back arched involuntarily, something like a scream catching in his throat before it could get any air and he fell backwards towards the ring. Crashing down into the solid slabs, his body was obscured by the debris kicked up in the impact but what it hid was clear enough to anyone that had been paying attention. Clear enough anyway that the official had already begun to count.
“One… Two… Three…!”
I really found something interesting here after all… Earth is a fun place… but I’m not sure that I can fight anymore.
“Four… Five…!”
At this rate I’ll be counted out… but even if I move it hurts… Ah, but so what!? Weren’t we supposed to be giving our all just now!?[/color
“Six!’
Nothing for it… Though it hurt to move, even to twitch one limb, Sinthe began to rally, to stand. It was slow going and his whole body burned as he rose to one knee, still shrouded in the shower of stone chips and dust that he’d kicked up. He didn’t know where Duvainel was, he couldn’t see her and his senses had shrunk to the point he couldn’t even feel the crowd around him or the announcer standing some place close by. He touched a hand to his brow as his head spun and felt the telltale trickle of his own blood from some wound he’d received above his eye, with pain blooming across his skin he couldn’t tell where.
“Seven… Eight…!’
But for the count, the arena had grown deathly silent waiting for him to respond. Such stock these Earthlings put in this circus, he liked them more and more all the time. Not that he’d ever let any of them know. Except maybe, by giving them one last thing to applaud. Bracing his hand on his knee he strained to push himself up out of the debris, becoming visible for the first time now as a shadowy silhouette within before he took his first altering steps back into the clear air.
His muscles ached, his chest was clearly heaving, blood ran in rivulets down his fur which showed the charring of energy wherever it had touched those blades. His clothes hadn’t fared much better, if possible they were in a more sorry state than their owner. Even the golden bracers he wore had started to melt on contact when he’d tried to bat Duavinel’s onslaught away and it was with no small measure of disdain he threw them off. Bleeding, battered, but unbowed in his pride, he was still standing.
Only, then he wasn’t. The last thing that Sinthe remembered of the fight was not the cool embrace of the untroubled stone that he fell upon, not the mixed cheers and shocked gasps of the audience, not even the announce3r shouting Duvainel’s name. It was one thought that occurred to him right before blacking out. Honestly… I thought I’d be able to do much better…WC: 842 Fired an [OT-2] Eradicator Beam to try and halt Duvainel's attack. Woefully underpowered at 100% {116,780 PL} got bull rushed, Duvainel wins!
Duvainel’s snark was met quickly with his attack, something he hadn’t quite expected but was glad to see. They could trade blows and feints all day at this rate, one of them had to make the first push whether for better or worse, he was not inclined to spend his whole day in a dead heat. Notch one for him it seemed as the smoke cleared, she had indeed taken the brunt of his energy wave and though she was still standing it was clear she was not entirely unscathed.
’It would seem you’re not. Not at all.’ With anyone else that attack might indeed have been a finisher, but here? It was barely more significant than what taps and holds they had offered one another thus far. An escalation by degrees… which Duvainel, as it turned out, was not willing to wait through. He’d wanted his attack to set off something more and here it seemed he had been successful. Intrigued by what power she wpuld bring to bear against him, the Anubian watched.
Well that didn’t feel normal. In his rather limited experience Elemi as a general rule didn’t feel normal, their ki was difficult to pin down even to a ballpark figure and seemed to fluctuate depending, but to describe what he was seeing and feeling as “not normal” would be something of an understatement. When two bodies or energies of diametrically opposed but equal strength were to meet the result was what most mortal scientists call an annihilation event, but it wasn’t the case that the two… whatevers blinked out of existence, their disappearance was the result of a catastrophic outpouring of potential energy. In short, the two energies which Duvainel appeared to be drawing on could really mess this place up.
Probably better if her attack doesn’t go off down here.’ Probably better it didn’t hit him either, but he wasn’t about to start thinking about that lest he jinx it.
Lifting off the ground he rocketed up into the sky, his own energy blazing around him as he opened up the last reserves of his current power, something which not more than a few minuted prior he’d not thought would be required. Hybrids it seemed, were well and truly a force to be reckoned with and now… no, that wasn’t the way to think. Slapping his hands to either side of his face he snapped himself back into the moment, thinking about what came next was a mistake. He had to remain present and react to things as they happened. First though, he needed to ready up.
Drawing a hand back across his body, towards his head he held up a single finger whose tip burst to life with a small orb of fiery yellow ki, his aura flared again as he began to throw everything he had left in to this next one, but trying it so soon after he’d just fired proved taxing. He took another moment aside to damn the restrictions of his current body before he redoubled his efforts, plunging his power to the lees rather than giving his opponent any less than his best.WC: 524 Transformation: 75% Power [x10] {116,780 PL} Charging [OT-2] Eradicator Beam, 50%, 100% next turn. The Demons words sounded strained, whether from the poison suffused through her body or for some other reason he couldn’t tell, but seeing as she wasn’t there to impede them in any way it hardly seemed to matter if one or more people made it off Vegeta, or Belhberry, or whatever this planet was actually called. He had no particular bone to pick with whoever lived here, the planet was the thing this time around and whatever life would or had managed to make its way offworld didn’t warrant following up.
’Born ready,’ he replied to Cervez’ final check. It felt like they should do something, or say something, or say nothing and have a moment of silence instead and it was always the same right before another planet disappeared, The latter of all those brought out one of his wry smiles, being that there was an eternity of silence left for what was still technically Planet Vegeta maybe another moment wasn’t an entirely appropriate gesture. In the end he kept it to himself, it was a feeling that he was not unaccustomed to and he knew well enough that it would pass with the world below.
’Comes Destruction,’ he rounded off from Cervez’ lead before they fired in unison, both their attacks boring down through the already weakened crust and down in to the barely beating heart of the world which had once been Planet Vegeta. After a short while the dancing geysers reflected in his keen eyes and he saw that it was good. After a slow burn the planet lost its integrity all at once, exploding outward in a hail of particulate and debris, the shockwave of which he had to strain against to keep from being thrown further in to the void. Just like that it was over. No long slow, lingering decline, well not any more at least, just a light and a sudden storm and then nothing. It was far and a ways better than the alternative.
’Pieces,’ he corrected his companion as they watched irradiated chunks of rock and earth float off, tumbling into the endless dark like so many discarded soda cans. For an Anubian they held about the same weight all things considered. He did wonder about the Demon that they’d stumbled upon, particularly how she came to be on what was supposed to be a Saiyan homeworld, but he figured that maybe Samael would be better suited to dealing with her, speaking on an even keel as it were. There might only be the tenuous link of species between them but he supposed it was better than nothing… and the two of them had just exploded what might be her planet after all. Not a great ice breaker but it was the one that he usually went with.
’Actually I’m not sure if it’s the junk food or the radiation, but I’m getting a wicked acid reflux right about now. You go on ahead and I’ll lay in the course home.’ It was the least he could do after basically avoiding the both of his companions all the way out here, well no the least he could do would be to do that over again but this felt better. Doing something. The immediate afterglow of a world snuffed out usually didn’t feel quite so hollow, but with no last valiant defense, no one to plead its case to endure the resolution of a job well done felt about as barren as the planet itself.

’As long as you’re not going to start calling yourself “big fuzz,” I’m game.’ The tightly compressed ball of energy sitting atop Sinthe’s claw thrummed almost with anticipation as he descended into a lower portion of the atmosphere, as though the energy of its own volition could not wait to tear through the crust of the planet. Holding it up at his side, nonchalant as anything, he made no particular effort to hide it or his true intentions as he came upon the strange personage which Cervez seemed wont to investigate.
’You know,’ he said to no one in particular as he sighted the creature whom was the object of their jaunt down toward the poison world. ’One of these days I would really like for it to be not Demons.’ They did appear to be everywhere these days, literally everywhere. Time was that Demons mostly kept to their own realms unless they were let in by some stupid mortal or another desirous of their power, what was the old saying again? Your adversaries walketh about as roaring lions, seeking whom they may devour? Something like that. It didn’t seem so long ago that the presence of a Demon was reason enough to turn a whole planet into a glass floor, nowadays it just seemed run of the mill, like they’d reached some kind of equilibrium with mortal-kind and that could well be the case here too. Only the presence of this creature on this planet sort of cast the whole predicament in a new light.
’Before you ask, yes, it is exactly what it looks like and no, you probably can’t persuade us otherwise. I hate to be the one to break it to you but your world’s not dying it’s dead, past tense. The fact that you’re alive is either a miracle or a curse, but I’d suggest you take it for what it is and escape while there’s still a planet to escape from.’ He was being overly blunt sure, but there’s a limited number of way one can say the world is ending and for such a massive blow as that there was really no proper means to dull the impact. Most people consoled themselves in their day to days by saying it wasn’t the end of the worl, what consolation then was there when it WAS? Certainly none from Sinthe, who normally might have been inclined to offer a challenge or failing that perhaps a game of skill, but who in all his years at this kind of thing had never encountered a planet in quite such a sickening state of decay.WC:437 Still holding [OT-3] {958,544 PL} Stamina 0/3 Tags: NakiyaCervez
Of course if he had given himself more time and not been trying to show off that attack wouldn’t have been able to hit, it would have been a bit of a stretch sure, but he decided to keep that to himself. An opponent riding high on an unexpected turn was always more fun than one who thought that you were only toying with them, that was the rule of thumb anyway, with some you could only weedle out those last dregs of power by making a mockery of the fight. Heizen though seemed to have come prepared for a fight in the first place.
Having struck home with his attack he raised his hand to his face, blowing the lingering light smoke of its energy discharge from around his claw as though he were in a spaghetti western. Seemed as though it was surprises all around since he hadn’t expected THAT attack to strike and certainly didn’t expect that it would bore right through his opponents flesh. It was a shock actually, but Sinthe didn’t allow it to reach his face, instead playing the haughty godling that he was so good at being.
Still, he thought, he might have overcooked that one. He’d meant for it to hurt sure, but he hadn’t really expected that it would go right through. Perhaps Demons were not quite so resilient as he thought, he would have to readjust his attacks to compensate and not end their battle too quickly. That said, even with such an injury Heizen was more than willing to recommence their fight and he admired that. Perhaps it was not fair to either party to use the Jackal as a mean to draw generalizations about “most Demons” when he appeared to be fairly atypical. His form gave that away to begin with, but the more that Sinthe learned about the quality of his character and the breadth of his power the more he was impressed. Sufficed to say he was starting to like this one.
’I was waiting on you anyway,’ Sinthe chuckled, of course he was ready for another round. He hadn’t just had new holes blown in him. ’But do you really think that you can fight ME with that injury?’ Giving Heizen something of a reprieve, Sinthe decided to ho back to basics for the next exchange, but his switch back to hand-to-hand wasn’t nearly all that merciful since he approached from the side that he’d already weakened. Throwing quick if not very powerful volleys of punches, Sinthe continued to circle around towards Heizen’s damaged flank before finally picking his moment and smashing a kick into his side.WC: 442 More Melee: 4,099
’Remarkable how often those two things coincide,’ the second Anubian mentioned off-handedly as he appeared beside Cervez, giving him a quick once over with his eyes, observing the fairly obvious changes to his physique. And Sinthe had thought he looked jacked before, this was just taking it to insane heights. Still though he seemed to be keeping a lid on his power, Sinthe couldn’t get any kind of accurate impression of it but from what he had seen of Cervez thus far however, he guessed that it far exceeded his own current peak. Nice to see the young blood putting the work in. Sinthe would have to keep him earmarked for later endeavors.
Looking down on the ruined world it was about as bad as he had expected and then some, for Cervez to suggest that they come here apropos of nothing it would had to have been bad but even from all the way up here he could feel it. The denizens of this planet who had lingered were either desperate or else diseased by the selfsame malady which had swept across their planet’s surface. The sheer weight of mortal suffering twigged something in the back of his head. Destroy. It ordered him. Hakai. It’d been a long while since he’d felt one of those impulses quite so clearly, but oddly enough it reminded him of a situation not dissimilar.
’You know I once knew this race of people that lived on a planet with almost no atmosphere, no real electromagnetic field to speak of either, dunno what the hell was in the core but it wasn’t supposed to be there…’ Sinthe paused here to take a swig out of what was apparently the last soda anywhere on the ship. Well never mind apparently, it was, it was also his. ’Oh, by the way we’re out of everything.’ Even if he were inclined to sleep (and he wasn’t) there was barely enough time for a cat nap en route and the time he was able or willing to spend on his companions was limited, not much to do then other than to pick at what was on offer.
What had been on offer.
’So where was I? Oh yeah. So there’s this planet, the atmosphere’s about as thin as a damp tissue but there were these people there and they had this weird crystalline skin. Their skin was actually MADE of diamonds which near enough deflected or absorbed whatever the star kicked out.’ They were fun, they shattered if you hit them hard enough and sort of just melted in their own sunlight. That had entertained him for longer than he was really prepared to admit. Cats would be cats and all but there were limits. At least the trip had paid for itself. ’No such luck,’ he observed, looking down on Blehberry or Vegeta or whatever this Saiyan dirt clod was called with what seemed to be a whisper of genuine pity.
It was short lived though as he crushed the can in his hand and tossed it over his shoulder to twirl lazily through the void and probably really ruin someone’s day way off in the future. Space was the gift that kept on giving. With his sympathies cast aside he began to raise his own powertopping ten percent in a matter of moments, a few seconds more and he hit twenty-five, just a little longer and there he stood at seventy-five. It was kind of annoying really to still not be able to push himself that little bit further, a twenty-five percent difference might not sound like a huge amount but in terms of not dissolving your body with your own ki it made all the difference. ’Let’s not drag this out longer than we have to,’ he advised his companion, not that it seemed like there was any sport here to begin with.
’The sooner this wretched existence is ended, the better for everyone involved.’ That went for them as well, it wasn’t really the kind of spectacle either of them were designed with in mind, ideally it was an Anubian’s mandate to step in before a planet reached this level of decay and decline. That was what he’d always thought at least, so he took no pleasure whatsoever in looking on the ruin of the Saiyans here. Instead he looked to Cervez, pointing his single finger down towards the center of the planet and charging an attack of his own. ’Wicked waste really, I knew these people in another time, another place. I should imagine that they’ll overcome even without a homeworld, but they deserved a better end than that down there.’
Still, they’d made their bed and as his attack lingered, buzzing and crackling on the tip of his claw he couldn’t help but smile, to be back doing what he was meant to, it felt good honestly and he’d have to thank Cervez for it once they were someplace more comfortable.

’It would have had to have been either very recent or a long, LONG time ago for us to have met, I think. I flatter myself that I’d remember you were it the former.’ Despite Sinthe’s apparent confidence that they hadn’t crossed paths there was something altogether… familiar wasn’t the word. It wasn’t like recognizing a person, more like noticing a common theme, something which was shared beyond the bounds of the purely physical. As much as the conundrum ticked over behind his eyes he couldn’t place the feeling either. Maybe there was nothing to it after all.
He’d be better off focusing on the fight anyway, seeing as how splitting his attention had just let his enemy break free of his grasp. Not bad, not bad at all, being able to force her way out of his grip like that. Admittedly only having a hold of her fists had made it tenuous but he expected even if he had better leverage she might have powered her way out of whatever hold he’d established.
’ Well naturally,’ he replied to he remark about holding back, confirming her suspicion without much needling at all. They did say if you’ve got it, flaunt it, but in this case it was likely to go over more than a few heads. As far as this tournament went he didn’t think he’d unleash that much more power unless he came up against a legitimate threat.
Not that Duvainel was a slouch when it came to it, which led him on to his next point. ’But not by as much as you might—‘ Whatever he’d been meaning to say was washed away in the tides of battle. Seeing her try to work around behind in order to grab him Sinthe reacted quickly to keep out of her grasp. This trading blows and grappling was getting them nowhere, if it was a test of physicality it appeared that the contest was a dead heat. That left them but one way to go. He flipped forward, tucking and rolling through the air before stopping, upside down so that he was now face to face with the Hybrid again. His arm already set into a firing position he opened his hand and let loose his ki in a short but intense burst, likely taking some of the ring with it but as Duvainel had made a point of, none of the appreciative crowd.
He’d started to like the crowd, it was neat to have someone cheering FOR him for a change. Although quite a few of them seemed to have come down for the much more familiar looking pink haired girl, that was understandable given how well balanced their powers were with one another. The Dragon Balls do not exist, Sinthe said to himself with a fairly obvious roll of his eyes. ’Oh yes, I’ve heard all about them.’
Samael kept on watching them with muted interest, an almost absent minded curiosity belying the intent with which he listened. Sinthe could see it in the twitching of his ears. And why not, he supposed? It was likely enough that he had never met or even come close to an Anubian which for most species’ were beings well beyond the realm of legend and now here he stood in the presence of not one, but two. Likely enough he didn’t want to seem like he was earwigging on his Master’s business but his curiosity was perfectly warranted, understandable even. What WOULD such being talk about when they were alone? Philosophers and holy men across the galaxies had reckoned at it and the answer was probably a lot less grandiose than any of them had expected.
The more immediate and interesting tidbit of information that Cervez had to share was to do with Saiyans (for it was always Saiyans these days, it seemed) specifically that they had blown up one of their planets and by all accounts all but abandoned the other. All of this nonsense going on and it wasn’t even his fault for once which was both refreshing and slightly annoying. Saiyans though, seemed as though they’d just go right ahead and fight one another if left to their own devices, so maybe they hadn’t changed all that much like everyone seemed to keep saying. He’d guessed as much, the works of one lifetime however noble were short-lived and easily undone, it was only with the span of eons that one was able to truly determine the nature of a people, were it not so immediately obvious as in the battle-forged hardy warrior folk.
’It has been a while,’ he admitted with an incensed huff. No need to hide his disappointment in front of Cervez, he would probably read through him anyway if he were any proper sort of Anubian. As different as they were and you could see just from looking at them, there were certain things that they all shared in common. Far from being wholly mean spirited and sadistic, destruction often felt more like a biological imperative for them the same way that procreation was for other, lower beings. It was just what they did, what went on in the background whenever there was a lull in other things to do. Very occasionally it was also enormous fun as well and the chance to work together was one which was not at all likely to emerge again for several hundred years, who would he be to pass it up?
’I can’t say that I very much like the idea of playing the custodial staff of the universe, but that’s the job sometimes.’ He would much rather his return to business be greeted by hordes of fleeing natives and a heroic last stand of some kind. ’I’m hardly in any position to expect more, it’s either this or shooting asteroid belts and I mean… we can get in some target practice on the way.’ He smiled, satisfied in his decision and stuck out a hand for Cervez to shake, sealing the agreement and a planet’s fate with one simple gesture.WC:629
