It had been just a day since the battle for a sit in the council was finished in the newly reopened arena of the Soy Capital. Jie Shan emerged the victor after a fierce clash between super saiyans that impressed every citizen of Planet Natto. The battle wasn’t just to define who would be the final counselor of the Saiyan Alliance, but also a clear display of the Alliance’s power, as two of their best warriors clashed in a death battle that almost cost their lives more than once in a matter of minutes. The Saiyan Alliance had now six super saiyans at their disposal, five of them whom were on Planet Natto and ready for immediate action, and another who could be summoned whenever they needed. This power coming from both ascending to that legendary state, together with their numbers made the Saiyan Alliance the most powerful and fearsome faction in the whole universe, and word was spreading fast after the gathering of five super saiyan in the arena grounds.
But as the word spread, two things were bound to happen: first, the enemies of the Alliance would immediately cease any plan to attack or harm it for a while, and second, they would start searching for ways to increase their own power so that they could match the Alliance’s power and make sure they would be safe from it. The Saiyan Alliance wasn’t known for conquering or outright attacking other factions; the sole occasion was when, manipulated by some nasty slaves, they decided to end their conflict with the now dead Saiyan Empire in an all-out war which wrecked Vegeta and ultimately killed its evil wicked queen, turning the Saiyan Empire in nothing but a shadow of its previous glory. But that war wasn’t damaging just for the Empire. In an act of treachery and betrayal, the leaders of the Alliance, the strongest warriors of the universe were killed and that left the Alliance in a terrible situation. The Saiyan Alliance had quality, but they lacked the numbers, and with their top warriors down, they had to retreat and avoid conflict. The Alliance spent the coming years just protecting its planet from attacks and scouters, but nothing major happened. Little by little it began to be forgotten until Nasu’s return.
In a matter of months the Alliance was rising from the ashed of Natto and Tomoroko, through the purge of Etorin so it could become a major faction in the galaxy once again. Nasu was following the footsteps of his parents the best he could, but he was also avoiding his mistakes; he knew it would be an empty accomplishment to become strong all by himself, and it would only make the Alliance vulnerable again. Should he fall in battle, history would repeat itself, and once again the legacy of Natto and Tomoroko would be at risk. Therefore, his first goal was to bring back the best warriors of the golden times, so that they would once again lend their power to the Saiyan Alliance, and, at the same time, train people in his father’s martial arts school, so they could tap into their fullest potential, both power level-wise and skill-wise. Power level alone wasn’t enough to make a fine warrior and he knew that all too well.
On top of submitting his warriors to severe training to improve their skills, Nasu was carefully watching those who had enough potential, the potential to ascend beyond the average saiyan warrior and become much more. The potential to become the legendary super saiyan. He was also aware of the new factions that were rising, such as the Lanza, and working towards annexing them to the Saiyan Alliance. Unlike his father, Nasu was reticent to be adding aliens to their lines, since the betrayal was still fresh in his mind, leading to mistrust, but he knew that if he restricted it too much he would be pushing those to his enemies, and he couldn’t allow that. Even the Cerulean Empire, now an ally, could just as easily become an enemy, taking advantage of all the races Nasu denied. Of course he couldn’t just allow them to become the majority of the Alliance, because, after all, it was still a “Saiyan” Alliance, but he was working on getting around that without losing what made them what they were, little by little.
Nasu was walking through the corridors of the Council Hall. He had heard a message from Miso, saying he wanted to meet with him to discuss an important thing. They were supposed to meet in one of the meeting rooms, a rather small one, near the medical quarters. ”Wonder what was so important he wanted to speak in person and privately…” he wondered. After a few more minutes walking down the hall, Nasu arrived at the meeting point. Miso was already there, comfortably sitting on a chair while savoring some beverage. As Nasu got inside the room, his uncle stared at him and chuckled a bit. – Hey maggot, sit! – he said with his irritating tone of always. Nasu snorted, but decided against reprehending him; it was a lost cause. The Overseer sit in a chair in front of Miso and grabbed a glass of water, drinking a bit of it. – So, you wanted to talk to me? – he asked. Miso chuckled a bit, took a large sip of his glass and put it back on the table, nodding afterwards. – I did. – he answered. Nasu folded his arms. – I’m listening. – he was growing impatient now and it was clear on his feature.
Miso

Miso chuckled a bit more and leaned against the chair, resting his arms on his crossed legs. – Remember how you told me to be on the lookout for saiyans with huge potential? – and Nasu nodded in response before Miso continued. – So… I’ve took notice of one Corporal. His power level last month was… What?... – he paused briefly, pressing the button on his advanced green scouter. – Fifteen thousand. – Nasu interrupted him. – So what? A high power level for a Corporal, indeed, but nothing impressive. – he said in a bored tone. Miso growled a bit, grimacing. – Would you shut up for a second? – and Nasu growled in response, but was silent now. – That was last month. Right now his power level is nearly fifty thousand! – and when he said that Nasu arched both his brows, quite impressed by such a large growth in power in such a short span of time. – Fifty thousand?! In a month?! – he asked, and Miso nodded, chuckling a bit more as his mischievous smile widened.
– Yes! That made me quite curious, so I’ve made a little research, with the help of Karota, and I’ve found out that he is three quarters saiyan and one quarter human. – he paused. – While that makes him mostly saiyan in biology, despite the red hair and blue eyes, we believe that this little hybrid in him is making him grow that fast. – Miso pointed out, raising his index finger, chuckling a bit more. – Heh! He doesn’t have that hybrid’s crazy power, it’s true, but ever since he reached near adult body maturity, he is sixteen now, his power level started raising a lot. – and with those words, Nasu touched his chin with his index and thumb, massaging it a bit. ”Interesting…” he thought to himself. – He is also quite angry because his parents were killed by the Planet Trade Organization in a scouter mission about three years ago, when he was still a little shitty brat, but he is not vocal about it. He shells his rage and that helps with the trigger, don’t you think? Heh! – and Nasu nodded with a thoughtful expression. – Indeed it does. – he answered, thinking about the possibility of a seventh super saiyan in the Alliance. The thought itself made Nasu feel exhilarated, but it was too soon to assume he would just turn in the following months.
– So, my thought was… I could start training him. Pushing him to his limits, and depending on how he develops, you can take over his training, since you seem to be a better teacher than I am! Heh! I always get impatient after so many blows! Hehehe! – Miso laughed and he had a fair point; Miso was a terrible teacher and he liked to beat people for no reason, so it could just backfire in time. – What’s this kid’s name? – Nasu asked. – Negi. His name is Negi. – Miso answered. Nasu was pretty sure he knew the boy, there wasn’t many red-haired saiyans in the Alliance, but Nasu was quite busy and didn’t spend much time with the lower ranking officials, unlike Miso, whose job was to know the whole army and separate the husk from the grain in order to assure only the best were raising through the ranks, and maintaining a competitive environment to stimulate progress. – I believe I know who that is… But he is not much to talk. – Nasu commented and Miso nodded in agreement. – He keeps his thoughts more to himself, but I can vouch for his loyalty. His parents were good warriors and they loved your dad and the Alliance. Negi inherited that. He is way too kind hearted, but that’s that… - Miso shrugged.
– That’s not a bad thing by itself, uncle. Dad was kind hearted. – Nasu pointed out. – And that got him killed. – Miso pointed out with a serious expression now, but Nasu wasn’t really affected by that. – I know, but he was a leader. A leader can’t be that naïve and this Negi boy isn’t a leader. I’m the one who can’t have the luxury of being too kind hearted. And neither do you! – Miso shrugged, but he wouldn’t fight that as he knew Nasu was right. – Fair enough, maggot! Heh! – and he chuckled as he finished speaking. – Back to the main subject, uncle. I’m curious to meet this boy. Could you bring him to me next week perhaps? – somehow this red-haired saiyan boy was catching Nasu’s interest. Maybe he could become an asset to the Alliance, or just another trusted warrior. Super saiyan or not, Nasu liked when people had backgrounds that strongly tied them to the Saiyan Alliance, it made him see that it wasn’t solely build on the shoulders of his parents. No, it was much greater than that and he knew that a true society can’t be built by a couple individuals, it had to come from much more people. That was the humility, one of the virtues of the Soy School helping him mature as a person. That, together with the teachings of Karota during their Wolf School trainings were making Nasu a better person, although he would be quite rough to admit it.
– Yeah, right. I would prefer to train him and make sure he had potential first, but I can do that next week. – Miso said, shrugging. Then the large saiyan grabbed his glass and drank the rest of his beverage. Nasu copied him and ended his glass of water. – Good! I will be expecting the two of you. But I must take my leave now, Karota is waiting me at the Soy Training Hall. I hope to finish my training today! – Nasu said as he got up from his chair. – Hehehe! Nice. Good luck with that, maggot! She likes to end her teachings with a rather painful spar! – he laughed. Nasu chuckled a bit and nodded. – Yeah, but she isn’t going to have an easy time fighting against me! I’m getting used to the style! Anyway… See you later uncle! – and as he said that, Nasu took his leave, heading towards the Soy Training Hall, so that he could finally learn the final techniques and teachings of the Wolf School.
A new warrior with a great potential was found, and that would make things far more interesting. Should he become a super saiyan, the Alliance would become an even greater force, but nevertheless, Negi was bound to be an important figure in the Saiyan Alliance, and he would have some effect on Nasu’s development as both a warrior and as a person. The Saiyan Alliance wasn’t just an extension of the Overseer and the Council, it was made by every person who had a story with it, it was a place where many saiyans started over, and a place for hope, a trait that had been forgotten, but was slowly being remembered by all of them, especially the leaders of the faction.
