Every bone in her small body ached, every breath she took was laboured. Her entire being was rejecting her resolve to stay standing. Wearing her knew training weights was an absolute chore. How can a simple set of undergarments weigh so god damn much? She knew she wasn't supposed to wear them until her next training day. Shit, she knew she wasn't even supposed to be training until her next training day, but she was far too stubborn and persistent to wait an entire two days. If there was nothing to do on that particular day, she would train- and if Komatsu wasn't watch her, nothing was gonna stop her. Way out in her usual spot, which was the clearing where she had first taught herself the Shining Rage Attack, Komatsu would never know what she was doing.. Unless he really wanted to track her down.
It was easy to understand the point of training weights. If she could handle their full weight and move with little to no restrictions, it'd make her much faster and much stronger once she took them off. With that in mind, the Demi-Saiyan would focus on training her speed and mobility by doing flips, handstands, spinning jumps, and all other sorts of acrobatic tricks. It felt as if she were just throwing a massive weight around with every movement, making her stumble just a little bit with every landing she'd make. It would help to train her balance too, which in turn would improve her Soy stance by just a little bit.
Her self-training session wasn't all sunshine and rainbows though, there was several times she'd mess up a landing or screw up a jump and land hard on her back or stomach. On one particular hard landing, she'd prop herself up onto her elbows and breathe heavily. 'It'll be a hell of a job hiding any cuts and bruises from Komatsu.. Could just tell him I got into a fight, but that'd have half the Saiyan Alliance out there looking for some non-existant douchebag.' The very thought made her chuckle.. She'd have to find some sort of other excuse to avoid admitting she'd been using her resting days just to push herself further.
The hybrid struggled to get up just enough to rest on her knees, her arms only barely able to support her. "I'll.. never give up. I'm going to be a Super Saiyan!" She wheezed out. Kohlrabi would think back to how life was before she had made her first visit to the Soy Capital. The people she had met had given her the proper motivation to stay on Natto and train, and if not for that she would never have met Komatsu. If she hadn't done that, she would not have the means or reason to even train in the first place. She could never repay all that.. Simple thank you's would just never do. The only way she could ever repay anyone who had helped her, no matter how slight it may seem, she would have to live up to her word and become a Super Saiyan.
'But how? The competition is just too great.. The thought of being the strongest is just incomprehensible.' Kohlrabi thought to herself, teeth clenched and eyes shut as tears formed in them and anger swelled up in her chest. In that moment, the hybrid would begin to think about her parents.
Their deaths had only occured six years ago, but whenever she really thought about it it still hurt as if they had just happened yesterday. She remembered the day it happened her entire life fell apart more vividly than what she had had for breakfast that day. It was a memory she would never be able to completely push back- it would always find its way back to remind her that she had failed to prevent the deaths of her parents. If she couldn't prevent their deaths, how could she even hope to prevent any others? 'Why.. why did you both have to die? Why'd you have to leave me here all alone?'
Back on her feet, Kohl clenched her fists tightly and kept them down by her sides, her gaze down at her feet while tears streamed down her face and she silently sobbed. 'I couldn't help you, I'm sorry.. I could hardly continue on by myself, so why? Why did this have to happen to me?' Kohl would shake her head as a blue aura began to surge around her. A sort of force was tugging at her soul- trying to force its way out and to take control of her. To fill her with the hidden potential she couldn't unlock without an extra final push.
If only someone who could read power levels had been nearby to witness this. The saiyan would brace her hands ber her sides and start to power up. Gradually, her flaming blue aura would go from just that to a more complete and stable orange aura that gave her entire body and hair an orange hue, as well as making it flare up slightly. "I will be a Super Saiyan, I will! Nothing will stop me, I'll crush anybody who gets in my way!" Kohlrabi would yell as she felt her power shoot through the roof and red fill her vision as she entered a blind rage. An orangeish yellow aura surged around her, and as she opened her eyes they would appear to be completely void of anything say for the whites. The outburst of rage had been brought on when Kohlrabi remembered that Komatsu had told her to just have faith in herself. And her own words to Komatsu, where she said they could both make their parents proud. Dead or not.
The surge wouldn't last long though, as Kohl's small and untrained body could not handle the massive boost from her latent hidden potential. The aura would completely vanish and her appearance would mostly return to normal. As her power level dropped back down to what it would normally be with her weights on, the demi-saiyan would drop to her knees and fall flat on her face as she went unconcious. She had come just a step closer to becoming a real super saiyan.
